From the city that changes the world.

Speaker 2 (00:03):
Peers Rose with three things you need to know for
your Wednesday.

Speaker 1 (00:06):
Rose for us.

Speaker 3 (00:08):
So, DC could have National Guard troops station in the
city through out at least the summer twenty twenty six,
which is way longer than originally expected, could happen.

Speaker 1 (00:17):
It hasn't officially.

Speaker 3 (00:18):
Been announced that is going to happen, but the roughly
twenty five hundred National Guard members are patrolling DC streets.
They are like preparing for that to happen in case
the orders come down. According to This is all according
to new documents filed in federal court by DC's Attorney
General's office. So district officials say that they found evidence
that troops could remain in DC indefinitely and that sources

(00:41):
have been diverted from Metropolitan Police Department. This is what
the reports are saying. So the White House would not
specify whether the deployment will extend internext year.

Speaker 1 (00:49):
I'll keep you updated to let you know.

Speaker 3 (00:51):
IKEA will soon have a location in DC, but it's
not going to be like it's new to DC. But
they are moving from Arlington too decent, OK, So they're relocating.
That's the plan, And this is the plan and order point,
so it's not like the regular Ikea.

Speaker 1 (01:08):
Store, but this is going to be moved to m
Street Northwest in Georgetown.

Speaker 3 (01:13):
So a plane and order point allows customers to work
with Ikea on larger remodeling projects and then have furniture
shipped directly to their homes, which is pretty nice. So
the Georgetown location will open on November fifth.

Speaker 1 (01:25):
If you're still trying to do like the.

Speaker 4 (01:27):
Ikea Arlington plane an order point, that's going to remain
open for planning appointments and pick up until at least
or until it closes.

Speaker 3 (01:34):
On November thirtieth, so be aware of that. And Walmart has.

Speaker 4 (01:37):
Announced the price of this year's Thanksgiving a Meal basket
and it comes in at less than four dollars a person.

Speaker 1 (01:44):
Yes, pretty nice.

Speaker 3 (01:45):
So the basket beats ten people. It includes over twenty
es centrals like the turkey, stuffing, potatoes, the usual things
that you would want for Thanksgiving.

Speaker 1 (01:53):
This is the.

Speaker 3 (01:54):
Cheapest that it's been since twenty twenty two let's go,
which is when it launched, so last year's roughly so
even dollars per person. They sure it's gonna be four
dollars a person, which is a very nice on our wallets.

Speaker 5 (02:04):
Rose.

Speaker 1 (02:04):
Those are the three things you need to know for today.
Thank you Ros.

Speaker 2 (02:07):
Speaking of Thanksgiving, it's like a month and a couple
of days away, which is crazy. Door Dash released that
the biggest Thanksgiving trends they predict happening. First of all,
they say Thanksgiving Eve is the biggest grocery delivery day
of the year.

Speaker 1 (02:18):
For people are like, oh, I forgot stuff. I don't
want to go in there.

Speaker 2 (02:21):
Yeah, or even to their state if you just don't
want to make food in general. He just like ordered
my restaurant to which kind of makes sense because it's yeah,
it's just like you, yeah, like it's gonna be me,
Like I'm gonna be in I'm gonna be in Nashville
the weekend before my nephew's he's getting baptized, Yah Thanksgiving
and be here. So yeah, I'm not gonna make a turkey.
I didn't even know how. Probably just order chick fly

(02:41):
the feather. Absolutely so they say order skyrocket ninety percent
higher than the average day. That's just crazy, I bet
you if you're a driver, and hopefully make bank.

Speaker 1 (02:50):
Also, it's the biggest barney of the right, so people
are probably like yeah, getting ready.

Speaker 2 (02:55):
Yeah. They say filling cards across the country that Wednesday
were like way up. They say traysing platters up two
thousand percent.

Speaker 5 (03:02):
Oh absolutely, Sage is up nineteen hundred percent, like for
like the like the seasoning. Yeah yeah, yeah, dining furniture
of seventeen hundred percent.

Speaker 1 (03:13):
Buy on door or dash.

Speaker 2 (03:15):
I mean I guess if it's like a probably target
something like that. If it's last minute, I get that
sometimes at the Christmas party, I f I'm like, oh
we need silverware, dam even last minute whole turkey's right
eight hundred and twenty percent.

Speaker 1 (03:26):
Oh man.

Speaker 2 (03:27):
I did a friends giving one because I had an
ex who really want to do it. I'm like, this
is the dumbest thing ever because I feel like I
feel like like friends givings, new ones are hard because
everybody already has like their set things.

Speaker 1 (03:37):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (03:38):
So her friend came over with the whole uncooked turkey
and I was like, yo, yeah, this is gonna take
like four hours, right, And also my oven wasn't big
enough for the turkey. So I made really good tots.

Speaker 1 (03:49):
That's good. Yeah, I made tots.

Speaker 2 (03:50):
Put some season on.

Speaker 1 (03:51):
They count.

Speaker 2 (03:52):
Absolutely. They also say getting into mashed potatoes. Also big too,
because somebody wants to peel potatoes.

Speaker 1 (03:57):
Oh yeah sometimes.

Speaker 2 (04:00):
Yeah. They also say that the alcohol orders go up
eighty eight percent compared the average.

Speaker 4 (04:04):
Wednesday, especially because like sometimes you're like, oh, I don't
have enough for the family.

Speaker 2 (04:08):
I thought I had more or enough to deal with
the family, exactly.

Speaker 5 (04:12):
Sad.

Speaker 2 (04:12):
They also say because of all the hookups that prophylactics
jump more than thirty percent the Wednesday before. Maybe get
like that weekend before or always have on hand that
way you're good to go too, you know what I mean.

Speaker 4 (04:24):
But also if you think about it, a lot of
people are going home, so like at least when I
would go home for the holidays, there was always one
bar that everybody from high school would go to and
then run into somebody and then it's like, oh wait,
now I need it last minute.

Speaker 2 (04:38):
That's also one of those things. If you order just
the propylactics, yeah, I get like gum and some other
things too. Can can't just be those, I guess my
wholesome things like gummy Bear vitamins and that kind of thing.
So it's like, okay, they're a wholesome family place. Morning
show absolutely
