Speaker 1 (00:00):
From the city that changes the world.

Speaker 2 (00:03):
Peers Rose with three things you need.

Speaker 3 (00:06):
To know for you Tuesday, Rose, What you got for us?

Speaker 1 (00:08):
Well, the FDA has approved a blood test to detect
conditions in the brain tied to Alzheimer's, which I think.

Speaker 3 (00:15):
Is really interesting.

Speaker 1 (00:16):
So the test measures two proteins found in the blood's
plasma to find if a patient has plaques in the brain,
and tests up till now they've been a little more invasive,
using brain scans and a spinal tap to confirm the
presence of these plaques. So an FDA spokesperson said, the
clearance is an important step for Alzheimer's disease diagnosis, making
it easier and more accessible for patients in earlier stages.

(00:37):
So love, I love that it's progretted like we're getting
these easier tests. So spotted lantern flies are making a
return to the DMV. They are an invasive species in
the US and therefore they have no natural predators, so
right now they're in the nymph stage. They look like
tiny black and white bugs. You're going to find them
on trees, maybe in your yard or local parks, and

(00:58):
as adults, they have these bright red wings, so they
are very bad for vegetation trees, plants crops up. These
bugs feed on the sap of the plant, which takes
its energy resources, and their waste causes a fungus called
sooty mold, which can grow to entirely cover a plant
or a tree, preventing it from growing, basically killing the plants.

(01:20):
So to help if you see them, squish them is
what they're saying to do. And the Blue Angels are
back in Annapolis for the Naval Academy Commissioning Week. So
Anapolis is expecting extremely heavy boat traffic, so make sure
you're paying attention to different markers they have. But the
practice air show begins today around two pm and then
the actual show begins tomorrow around two pm. I'm sure

(01:40):
it's going to be crazy in Annapolis with that as well,
so just be aware that.

Speaker 3 (01:44):
That is going on.

Speaker 1 (01:45):
I Rouse, those are the three things you need to
know for today.

Speaker 3 (01:47):
Thank you, Rose, You're welcome. I didn't find this that surprising,
but Microsoft put out a new report about just Like
Workplace and being Effective that claims office employees are interrupted
by meetings, emails, and other work related pays every two minutes.

Speaker 2 (02:02):
I believe that I thought they're going to talk about
how outlook sucksky.

Speaker 3 (02:06):
No, But like again, I'm glad that the main cause
of this show is to bring awareness to the fact
that a look is the worst thing. If you want
to find something, don't ask how lock to find it.

Speaker 2 (02:16):
Well, even there was this podcast, like a true crime
podcast that outlooks so bad. They're like, we can't even
prove if they sent the email or not because we
can't even find it with like and I don't know
if that's necessarily true, because I don't know how that
all works, but like no, like literally, it can't be
found that was sent because it's absolutely because it's like
you can't find it.

Speaker 3 (02:34):
Worst. They also say sixty percent of meetings in the
office are called in the moment.

Speaker 2 (02:38):
Oh like a last minute meeting nothing you know, all.

Speaker 3 (02:41):
Right, I didn't know what it's going to happen. And
because of all those meetings during the work day, they
say there's been a fifteen percent increase number of chats
sent daily outside of work hours.

Speaker 2 (02:50):
I beg if you can't, especially if you're just in
these meetings that I'm gonna just say, I would say
it's seventy five percent of the meetings that we have,
don't we don't need to have or just like most
people have in general.

Speaker 3 (03:00):
Well, I think I'll go back to this. The biggest
problem is but by the time everybody gets to work
normally here at ten, nobody wants to start work, so
they want to kill time they had meetings, whereas we're
getting off work because it's like I want to go home.
If we had our meetings at six pm, none of
them would want to be in the meetings as long
as they are I want to go home.

Speaker 2 (03:19):
I feel like it's not just even here. Even my
friends will have meetings that a lot of them are
just like not productive to the actual job.

Speaker 3 (03:26):
Well, it's like somebody told somebody a long time ago,
if you're having meetings means you're not a good manager,
And that's not really the case as long as things
are fine. Yeah, you don't need to have meetings in
the office. No, But I feel like that's like the
mindset of like we haven't had a meeting in a while,
we need to have a meeting.

Speaker 2 (03:40):
Because my friend runs like three hair salons in Atlanta,
and she was saying, like she like posts this video
last week. She's like, I have meetings with my employees
every Monday. But it's not a meeting. I'm checking in
with them to see if they're okay and if they
need help in any area. And that's it.

Speaker 3 (03:54):
Yeah, I think that's starts, and.

Speaker 2 (03:54):
I think that's a good meeting if you have one
on one, sure, but if you're having a full meeting,
it's not productive to waste time.

Speaker 3 (04:01):
Well and if there's one person that will point it out,
it's sauce. Yeah, rightfully, I say it's wrong. Rightfully. So
they say one suggestion is to make your time more viables.
Pick a time most productive. Block that I had time.
When I found out that somebody at work could see
my calendar, I started blocking things out all every day. Yeah,
I had no idea because somebody's like, I can see
your free right now. My first of all, this show

(04:23):
ten doesn't mean I'm free to do like I have
a life. Yeah, I got I got things I gotta do.
We gotta take a nap, gotta play with my dinosaurs,
gotta play the new soccer video game like all those
things as well. Absolutely, it's intern Johnny Morning Show at Teddy.

Speaker 1 (04:35):
