Speaker 1 (00:00):
From the city that changes the world. Peers Rose with
three things you need to know for your Friday. Rose
you got for us.

Speaker 2 (00:08):
So obviously, the California fires are still top of mind
for everyone.

Speaker 1 (00:11):
Here's the latest information.

Speaker 2 (00:13):
So almost two hundred thousand residents of LA were under
mandatory evacuation orders yesterday. At least ten thousand structures have
been burned in the fires, that is, homes and businesses.

Speaker 1 (00:24):
Just so scary.

Speaker 2 (00:25):
And two of the fires, the Palisade Fire and the
Eton Fire combined, have already burned close to thirty thousand.

Speaker 1 (00:31):
Acres, which is crazy.

Speaker 2 (00:34):
So many now the death toll has risen to ten
and damaged estimates could reach one hundred and fifty billion dollars.

Speaker 1 (00:41):
That's just the estimate.

Speaker 2 (00:43):
So the Los Angeles Police arrested a possible arson suspect
yesterday afternoon that they are suspect in the connection to
the Kenneth fire. According to reports, residents spotted this man
trying to light a fire and then they held him
down and zip tied him until police could arrive to
take him into custody.

Speaker 1 (01:03):
The entire city is burning down, like are you going
to it?

Speaker 2 (01:07):
Bro And and then on top of that, at least
twenty looterers have been arrested.

Speaker 1 (01:11):
Like just like the worst, the worst.

Speaker 2 (01:14):
But there is a glimmer of good news in this
as it was confirmed with the massive Palisades fire has
now been considered to be six percent contained, which is
it seems like but like better than zero at this point.
So according to reports, eleven schools in the district have no.

Speaker 1 (01:32):
Heat in parts of their buildings. God. This report came
out yesterday and.

Speaker 2 (01:37):
According to DC Public Schools, the spokesperson, families at these
eleven schools were notified of the issue and there were
working to get a handle on it. In the notes
that went home, it said they have arranged temporary heating
solutions such as space heaters or moving students to warmer spaces.
But I do not know if there is an update
on that because the reports that's all. That's all it's

(01:58):
saying right now. So if you're a teacher in the
can you like let us know if the issue is
fixed yesterday because like I said, the reports haven't been
updated since they came out.

Speaker 1 (02:07):
And I thought this was really cool. Commanders of Bobby Wagner.
He won media Good Guy Award. Oh I love that.

Speaker 2 (02:15):
So linebacker Bobby Wagner is being praised for the local
media for being just like easy to work with. Media
members who regularly cover the Commanders voted him to win
the Good Guy Award this week, and I was like,
I just love that.

Speaker 1 (02:29):
So they said that he is very respectful.

Speaker 2 (02:31):
And just a normal dude who happens to have had
a Hall of Fame career. Very cool and yeah, so
in the past, Terry McLaurin had won the last four
years of that award, which I just love to see that.

Speaker 1 (02:41):
I'm Rose.

Speaker 3 (02:42):
Those are the three things you need to know for
the day. Thank you, Rose, You're welcome. Want to get
to this next we your Friday. Why people can't admit
when they're actually wrong. First to bring his own.

Speaker 1 (02:51):
Intern John in your morning show.

Speaker 2 (02:53):

Speaker 1 (02:53):
