Speaker 1 (00:00):
From the city that changes the world. Peers Rose with
three things you need.

Speaker 2 (00:06):
To know for your Wednesday, Rose you got for us Yesterday,
DC Mayor Muriel Bowser issued in executive order that she
said provides a quote pathway forward beyond the presidential emergency
by continuing to work with the Trump administration to combat crime.
So the order says, quote, due to the cooperative efforts
between district and federal officials, filing crime in the district
has noticeably decreased.

Speaker 3 (00:27):
Now.

Speaker 2 (00:27):
This order directs continued collaboration between the city and the
federal government to the maximum extent allowable by.

Speaker 1 (00:34):
Law moving forward.

Speaker 2 (00:35):
It also establishes an Emergency Operation Center to handle coordination
between the city and federal agencies.

Speaker 3 (00:41):
Now.

Speaker 2 (00:41):
The Trump administration federalization of the city's police force expires
next week. Bowser's order is open ended, so there's not
really a deadline on that. The Baltimore Ravens home opener
at MTBank Stadium is about two weeks away, probably less
than two weeks away at this point, and there will
be some budget friendly food options. Is pretty awesome.

Speaker 1 (01:00):
So the the.

Speaker 2 (01:02):
Flock Friendly Fair is the team's version of like a
value menu, and it was introduced back in twenty eighteen,
but they're expanding it for this season. So there are
eleven food items under five bucks.

Speaker 3 (01:13):
Like hot dogs three ninety five or something. I'm like,
it's forty nine.

Speaker 4 (01:18):
Even betans.

Speaker 2 (01:19):
The team says the franks are an all beef upgrade
from past years, which is pretty nice. There's a barbecue
chicken sandwich for under five dollars. Soft pretzels and popcorn
are a dollar ninety nine each. You can even get beer,
water and soda for five dollars or under.

Speaker 4 (01:33):
It is awesome.

Speaker 3 (01:34):
It is a cool because like last year they it
was last year it was like not obviously you said
as long, but it was still really good, Like when
Kate and I went, it was pretty great.

Speaker 2 (01:41):
It's pretty epics. So it's going to be available at
different concession stands on all levels stadium wide. You could
get the Blackbird chips for two forty nine, by the way,
so that's pretty cool. And no one has matched all
six numbers of the Powerball jackpot since May thirty first
meant a while. And although there was no Jackpop winner
on Monday Day, like we talked about, there were three

(02:02):
winning Virginia tickets, one which was sold in Manassas was
for a million dollars. It was pretty nice, and then
there were two for one hundred and fifty thousand. That
was according to the Virginia Lottery. Now Powerball is over
a billion dollars, which is pretty epic one point three
billion to be exact. And you don't need to drive
to the store. You can just download the Jackpot app

(02:23):
jack Pocket app and get your lottery ticket on jack Pocket,
which is pretty cool. The drawing is tonight and again
that app.

Speaker 1 (02:30):
Is called jack Pocket. I'm rose. Those are the three
things you need to know for the day. Thank you.
I have a very part in birthday shout out today.

Speaker 3 (02:36):
We do you can you We're the same heights, so
I feel like it's got haigh birthday, Jackie, Jackie. I
meant to start my around the room with I was
up all day yesterday.

Speaker 4 (02:48):

Speaker 1 (02:52):
Hopefully somebody special, something very special for.

Speaker 4 (02:54):
You, my little height twin.

Speaker 1 (02:58):
Absolutely, I drop this on you real quick. I thought
this was hilarious. Virginia firefighters rescue two can from behind dishwasher. Yeah,
so in Arlington.

Speaker 4 (03:08):
I know I saw this. I was like, I saw
that two can.

Speaker 1 (03:11):
I mean so, first of all, Chess and the two
camparently is famous. He has a half million followers on Instagram. Yes, so,
her name is Maria, As the owner says, the two cans.
Eventful day started when he fell into the toilet while
she was cleaning the bathroom. She said, quote, yeah, he
freaked out. I freaked out. I picked him up, scooped
him like, brough him to the scene, and started rinsing

(03:32):
him off to make sure he was clean. YEA next thing,
I know, I'm like, where the heck did Chester go?
He disappeared in the thin air. By the way, Chester's
a big boy. Yeah, he's a big boy. Soon, she
discovered Chester was behind her dishwasher, where she couldn't reach him.

Speaker 4 (03:46):
I think Chester is mad.

Speaker 1 (03:47):
She was worried he might find like roach, a rat
poison behind the appliance, which makes sense, yep. And she
found she couldn't disassemble it without help. Her building's maintenance
apartment determined the situation not qualify as an emergency.

Speaker 3 (04:00):
Excuse me, I mean that's what they do. They're like,
I I leave because mine. You can leave dramatic voice.
I mean, you're not supposed to be dramatic, but I am.
I'm like, hello, I'm suffering here.

Speaker 1 (04:09):
Chester needs out. Yeah, So she contacted the Arlington County
Fire Department. They came over, you're able to rescue Chester.

Speaker 3 (04:16):
I wonder where she lives. I'm like, what are you
in my frat house?

Speaker 1 (04:21):
I did DM her just now to see what we
have her on the show, just to talk to her.
So Chester's account is Chester Underscore the Underscore two Can. Yeah,
five hundred and ninety thousand followers.

Speaker 3 (04:30):
I know.

Speaker 4 (04:30):
I was looking at yesterday when I saw that article
on Arlington.

Speaker 1 (04:33):
Now, I didn't know you could have two Cansas pets, but.

Speaker 3 (04:35):
I did not know that either. But like I saw
the picture of just the two can in general, I
was like that, it's gigantic.

Speaker 1 (04:42):
Yeah, Gill Chester, he's wearing a hat in some of these.

Speaker 4 (04:44):
Sorry, he's safe. He's got a whole following.

Speaker 1 (04:48):
So thanks to the heroes the Arlington County Fire Department
who saved Chester two can and thank you. Do you
think that's a nine one one call or a three
one one call like non essential burdency?

Speaker 3 (04:57):
I would have called, like so I thought you're supposed
to call intermal control for that, so I feel like
that's what I would have called.

Speaker 1 (05:02):
I would be afraid they take him.

Speaker 4 (05:04):
No, they won't take him.

Speaker 1 (05:05):
But also to the building though it's like, okay, do
you want me to destroy?

Speaker 4 (05:08):
Really? Like but like, I don't think there's swiceed to
help with your pets.

Speaker 1 (05:11):
But he's shop behind dishwasher. But it's Chester. He's a
man's legend.

Speaker 4 (05:16):
But what if you sue them because they hurt your pet?

Speaker 1 (05:18):
The legend?

Speaker 4 (05:19):
I really don't know. I don't know.

Speaker 1 (05:21):
We'll put some of Chester stuff up on y miss
radio dot com. Hopefully get Maria on the show today
because that's hilarious. I know I saw Yes, I was like,
of course, how do you choose a two can? Why
wouldn't you agree? That's a real question. Why wouldn't you know?
It hasn't froot loops? Hopefully that's that's the If they don't,
that's a big miss.

Speaker 4 (05:37):
Is that froot loops?

Speaker 1 (05:38):
Like the yeah, is his name Chester also? Or it's
