Mariah Carey got a huge win in a law suite over her “All I want for Christmas” song. More rally for Eric and Lyle Mendez. Netflix is bringing the Golden Ticket to life.

So Christmas has come early from Mariah Carey or late,
however you want to look at it. But basically, Mariah
got a huge win in that twenty twenty three copyright
lawsuit that was filed against her, and it claimed that
she stole elements from another artist song's song about her
holiday hit All I Want for Christmas Is You. A
judge has now dismissed the suit, saying that did not
meet the burden of proof needed, and the judge determined,

(00:26):
with the help of musicologists analysis, that the songs in
question were very different and only shared the quote use
of a common lyrical idea and a and Christmas song
cliches that were in common use unquote. So the suit
was filed by Andy Stone, who aka is Vince Vance.
I do love his music unfortunately, but claim that nineteen
eighty nine song had the same name and was copied.

So what's worse is that the judge imposed sanctions on
him require him to cover some or all of Mariah
Carey's attorney fees. They were run up for what the
judge said, quote Neila's expense is responding to frivolous legal
arguments and unsupportive factual contentions.

Wow, I thought, if you're gonna be throwing out these lawsuits,
just tragg your money and it's a scam, Like you
should have to pay that person's base.

I don't disagree. I just feel like maybe he saw
the other people in the music industry are doing it,
and she's like, oh, I don't know, let me out.
I don't know. And family and supporters of Eric and
Lyle Menendez held another rally outside of La County DA
Nathan Hawkman's office, you know, continuing to push for justice
for their brothers. So Anna Maria Beryl Beryl, who is

their cousin, vowed that they would keep fighting and insisted
that they're not going to go anywhere. And the Justice
for Justice for Eric and Lyle coalition doubled down on
their stands, accusing Nathan Hawkman of trying to quote ignore
in silence victims of abuse unquote. So basically, Nathan, we
already talked about this. Nathan Hawkman has already denied the
brothers resentencing request, stating that the refusal to attract past

lies and the lies are his words make it an
easy decision. However, California Governor Aven Newsome has asked the
Parole Board to review their case, meaning that every sensiting
hearing isn't necessary. So Eric and Lyle will stand for
the board in June, and that Gavin Newsom actually recently confirmed,
so they will remain incarcerated in San Diego or near

San Diego, serving that light sentence. And this is pretty cool.
So Netflix is officially bringing The Golden Ticket to life.
It's a reality competition series. It's inspired by the Willy
Wonka and the inspired by Willy Walking and the Chocolate Factory.
So basically they've begun casting contestants for the series that
promises lucky players a chance to win Willy Walker's Chalk

to enter Willi Walker's Chalk Factory, and then it's gonna
have the shows. It's gonna have like retro freturistic dreamscape,
and it's gonna have some high stake social experiments, just
kind of like the actual movie. It sounds like that
was kind of the point, but they're gonna say. They're
saying that you'll navigate games and tests to patients and
it will be a probe to your instincts. Resilience and

ability to thrive in chaos. So there's no premier day
and it will be announced eventually, but they're just now
casting for it. I feel like for something to watch
this weekend, Mark Masks going on, Caps are playing the
Panthers tomorrow, Monumental and ESPN seven finale today on Apple
TV plus Wickets now streaming on Peacock. If you miss that,
