Courtney and Marco have been together for a little over ten months after meeting each other on Bumble about a year ago. For the most part Courtney tells us things have been great, but she has started to notice that Marco has been dressing better and caring more about his personal appearance. At the same time, Marco told Courtney that he was going out of town to see his family in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, but ever since then Courtney hasn’t been able to reach him. Courtney decided to do some digging and saw that Marco was charging meals in Miami to his card even though he never mentioned going to Miami to Courtney.

We call Marco pretending to work for his credit card company and when we ask him about his recent charges in Miami he mentions he was with a close friend named Candy. Find out what’s really going on in this week’s War Of The Roses!

Speaker 1 (00:06):
War of the Roses on intern John in your morning
and show you are with somebody, you're being faithful, you
assume they are too, and tell some things pop up
that make you think is something else going on?

Speaker 2 (00:18):
We try to get to the bottom of it. Courtney,
Good morning.

Speaker 3 (00:21):
Good morning.

Speaker 2 (00:23):
So let's let's see this.

Speaker 1 (00:25):
So you and Marco have been I guess not to well,
kind of together a year but official for how long?

Speaker 3 (00:34):
Official for?

Speaker 2 (00:35):
Yeah?

Speaker 1 (00:36):
So a year ago we matched on on Tinder and
just kind of kept things. Would you say it's more
casual or you guys are just dayteen those first couple
of months.

Speaker 3 (00:48):
Yeah, no, I mean those first couple of months it
was like getting to know each other. And then it
only took two months to become official, which I don't
think is very long. And then we'd it's been great,
like everything's everything's in fine. We're in a normal relationship
that seems to be going very well. I'm very happy
with him and.

Speaker 1 (01:09):
Sure, but here we are wore the rost so over
the and this is what I want to bring up.
So you didn't know him prior to see him on Tinder, right.

Speaker 2 (01:22):
I did not know.

Speaker 1 (01:24):
So in the last two months, you've noticed he's made
some pretty obvious changes to his appearance and his place.

Speaker 2 (01:30):
Can you kind of elaborate on that?

Speaker 4 (01:32):
Mm hmmm.

Speaker 3 (01:33):
So yeah, even when I met him, he was never
like the most put together person, like he's like a
front guy. He he always kind of wore the same
exact clothes only was the type of guy that had
like three shirts that he rotated, two pairs of pants.

(01:54):
He had like his apartment was just very bear sure.
And anyway, in the last couple of months, I've noticed
that all of a sudden, he's like dressing better. He
got new clothes and.

Speaker 2 (02:14):
Even he got new sheets. That's weird.

Speaker 3 (02:17):
Things are so yeah, things are a sort of better.
And I did kind of bring it up to him,
and I would make comments like oh wow, like that
looks nice on you or something, and he says, like, oh,
I started. He claims that he started like going on Pinterest, which.

Speaker 1 (02:36):
And that's why I want to bring up because I
think it No dude just discovers Pinterest in twenty twenty five.

Speaker 4 (02:42):
I don't disagree.

Speaker 1 (02:43):
So so that there's that, but maybe the more of
the red flag is he's on town right now right Yes, Okay,
so he had told you he was going where to
see family?

Speaker 3 (02:55):
He told me he was going to Fort Lauterdale, Okay.

Speaker 2 (02:58):
And you he was, yeah, staying with family there.

Speaker 1 (03:01):
And you did some digging and his amex account and
found that he has been doing charges.

Speaker 3 (03:06):
Where I saw charges at the w Hotel and the
Capitol Grill in Miami.

Speaker 1 (03:14):
Yeah, which is it possible he drove from Fort Lawerdale
to Miami for dinner with family.

Speaker 2 (03:20):
It's possible. It seems odd that you would.

Speaker 1 (03:23):
There's probably Capo grow in Fort Laarado, I would assume, yeah,
But it seems odd to drive that far and then
get the hotel there when.

Speaker 2 (03:30):
You can just stay with family.

Speaker 4 (03:32):
Are you going to Capitol Grill there? If there's a
bunch here.

Speaker 1 (03:35):
That's kind of the other thing that thinks of a
bit off. You are his folks from Fort Lawerdale or
they just retired there.

Speaker 3 (03:46):
I don't know. No, they all just live in Fort Laudero.
I never but you've never even really mentioned Miami and
like going to Miami, wanting to go to Miami.

Speaker 2 (03:54):
I guess never.

Speaker 1 (03:56):
I'm saying, is he from Fort Lawerdale though, where his
parents moved there after they were tired.

Speaker 3 (04:01):
No, he's from there.

Speaker 1 (04:03):
Okay, because that's even weird that you would go, Yeah,
because we have Capitol grow here exactly. Okay, so let's
do uh, let's do this, Cordy, let me call instead
in the flowers started up. Let me call from Amex
and uh, I'll try to get some more confirmation on
the charges.

Speaker 3 (04:17):
Okay, yeah, and I will mention too, like the Capitol
girl charge was three hundred dollars.

Speaker 2 (04:25):
Oh my, okay, that's a lot.

Speaker 3 (04:28):
Yeah, Okay, he's there with like not that's not he's
not there by.

Speaker 1 (04:32):
Himself, no girl that We'll do it next, okay, Okay,
all right, war of the Roses on intern Johnny Morning
Show or the Roses on intern john in your morning show, Corny,
I'm gonna recap this. So you and Marco have been
in each other's orbit, I guess for a year, but
officially dating for ten months. You've noticed the last couple

(04:53):
of months he has put more of an effort into
his appearance, whether it's his place or his actual clothing.
He he says he found Pinterest, which is odd I
think to find in twenty twenty five.

Speaker 2 (05:04):
I agree more of the smoking gun.

Speaker 1 (05:06):
The reason we're doing roses is he had told you
he was going down to Fort Lawerdale see his family.
He's from the area, and all well and good, but
you logged into his amex. There's charges at the w
Hotel in Miami and the Capitol Grill in Miami, which,
by the way, I pull up Google Maps right across
the street from each other, so another Megan makes a

(05:26):
difference or anything like that. But the Capitol Grill charge
about three hundred dollars, which I would say is nearly
impossible to do by yourself.

Speaker 4 (05:33):
Well get it, yeah, unless you're like, yeah.

Speaker 1 (05:36):
I also think it's odd and saus kind of brought
this up. If he's from the Fort Laerdale area. It
seems weird to fly home then go to a chain
restaurant that's about an hour and.

Speaker 2 (05:47):
A half away.

Speaker 5 (05:47):
Looks like I wouldn't have like gone to Georgia and
gone to like Ruth Chris.

Speaker 1 (05:51):
Yeah, and we're driven an hour away to go too.
That's kind of the vibe. So let's do this, Cortney.
We'll call from uh. I'll call from AX and try
and get some clarification on the charges, and then off
from the flowers. Okay, all right, Well I forgot too,
because you mentioned your email. You've barely talked to him
the last couple days while he's there.

Speaker 3 (06:13):
Yeah, I haven't even heard from him.

Speaker 2 (06:14):
It's so it's okay, it's weird.

Speaker 4 (06:17):
That's really weird.

Speaker 3 (06:19):
I just have such a terrible feeling.

Speaker 2 (06:21):
Have you ever met his family or I talked to
him on the phone?

Speaker 3 (06:25):
Not me?

Speaker 2 (06:25):
No, I haven't now even like a face time or anything.

Speaker 3 (06:29):
We've we've yeah, like we've face timed a little bit
that I've never met that in person.

Speaker 5 (06:35):
I guess if they live down there, that's normal. But
if they don't, really you think you're a face time though,
maybe right like I did a guy first three months,
and I feel like his dad would I've talked to
him on the phone. Not on the phone, but I
mean like if they if I was there and there
on the phone, he would say hello to me, and
I'd say hello to Tis.

Speaker 3 (06:49):
Well, let's yeah, we've done little things like that.

Speaker 2 (06:51):
Okay, all right, let.

Speaker 1 (06:53):
Me uh get the number up here as purpose got
put him by the mouse, which is the most infort thing.

Speaker 2 (06:58):
You make it lunch right now? Growing what he doing?
A lot of tough?

Speaker 3 (07:03):
Aware?

Speaker 1 (07:18):
Hi calling from Marco, Please Marco, this is David calling
from AMEX. Can I ask a security question?

Speaker 2 (07:25):
Real quick? I have a couple of questions about your
account from the fraud department. Oh okay, sure.

Speaker 1 (07:31):
Real quick, this is Marco. Yeah, and how do you
spell it backwards? So just to make sure you're not AI?
I'm sorry, we're just it's an anti AI proof. Oh
are uh?

Speaker 2 (07:45):
I don't know.

Speaker 1 (07:46):
I can't do backwards. That's close enough. That's fair because
a I've gotten right, So real quick, Marco. The reason
I'm calling is we gotta travel some travel charges in
your account, and we were not aware you're traveling. So
I wanted to go through a couple of these. It's
real que to make sure it's you and then you'll
be on your ways.

Speaker 2 (08:02):
Okay, okay.

Speaker 1 (08:04):
Number one, First of all, your card is working correct.
You've had no issues with the card.

Speaker 3 (08:08):
It's working fun.

Speaker 2 (08:09):
Okay.

Speaker 1 (08:09):
So it looks like we have a couple of minor
charges in the Fort Lawerdale area the last seventy two hours.
But what we're concerned is there's a big charge at
the w Hotel Miami. Also looks like around a little
three hundred dollars at the Capitol Grill Miami, are these
all yours?

Speaker 2 (08:29):
Yes?

Speaker 3 (08:29):
They are?

Speaker 2 (08:30):
Okay? Is there?

Speaker 1 (08:32):
Because you understand, like for us, it's a bit alarming
that you'd be in Fort Lawerdale with some minor charges
and then Miami later on that day with big charges.

Speaker 2 (08:42):
So I just wanted to make sure everything's yeah, okay.

Speaker 1 (08:45):
And also, if I'm being really honest, man, three hundred
dollars a capital grill is that's demon work?

Speaker 2 (08:52):
No, they're all they're all right. Okay was it? What
did you get for dinner? And then good?

Speaker 3 (08:58):
Yeah, it was good?

Speaker 2 (08:59):
Okay.

Speaker 1 (09:00):
And so you you are currently in the Florida area,
I am man beautiful, so listen, I appreciate your time.
Thank you for being a Rewards member with us. One
more thing real quickly. We teamed up with a local
flower shop in the area to send you a free
becuet of flowers to say thank you so much and
thank you for being a Rewards member.

Speaker 2 (09:17):
It's very easy.

Speaker 1 (09:18):
They're actually based in Florida, but can deliver anywhere in
the country. So if you want to send because it
looks like you're from or you reside in Maryland, is
that correct, Yeah, that's it. We can send them to
because this place has different chains. Do you want to
send somebody in Maryland or somebody down there where you are?

Speaker 2 (09:35):
Oh, it'll be down in Florida, down Florida in Miami. Yeah, okay.
And what's the first name of the individual you want
to send flowers? Isn't that? They are roses? Red roses, romantic?

Speaker 3 (09:47):
Yeah, red roses, sow good.

Speaker 2 (09:48):
Yeah, so the romantic. So I see the first name
of the person you want to send flowers too? It's
candy candy?

Speaker 1 (09:58):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (09:59):
Is that? And how do you spell candy c A
N D Y? It's just a close.

Speaker 1 (10:03):
Friend In the card to candy, it's about Foigner characters
a byt the size of a tweet.

Speaker 3 (10:09):
Okay, just just put thanks for an amazing.

Speaker 2 (10:13):
Easing thanks amazing. So is this.

Speaker 3 (10:18):
Is this?

Speaker 2 (10:18):
We went to the Capitol grow with. I'm gonna be
nosey or anything, but.

Speaker 3 (10:23):
Yeah, how are you who the candy candy?

Speaker 1 (10:27):

Speaker 3 (10:28):

Speaker 2 (10:32):
I was just gonna look it up. What's candy short for?
We can't?

Speaker 1 (10:39):
Yes, Marco, my name is intern John. I got sauce
and rose here as well. Do you know who that
voice is? We're doing more than roses, by the way,
I tell you that whose voice is that?

Speaker 2 (10:49):
Who is that? It's Cordy?

Speaker 3 (10:52):
Yeah, so who's Courtney? Yeah?

Speaker 2 (10:56):
And who's candy?

Speaker 3 (11:01):
Candies? Look, candy is my cousin?

Speaker 4 (11:03):
Okay, away, you're not setting your cousin flowers that weird message?

Speaker 3 (11:07):
Just literally like two seconds, you're like, oh, it's just
a close friend. Cut the fool.

Speaker 5 (11:13):
Me.

Speaker 3 (11:13):
What's going on? Marco with your parents? And then what.

Speaker 2 (11:22):
I was just talking to the amex guy or whatever.

Speaker 3 (11:24):
I'm not like.

Speaker 5 (11:26):
You.

Speaker 2 (11:26):
Why would you send romantic flowers to your cousin?

Speaker 4 (11:30):
That's so weird.

Speaker 2 (11:30):
I just haven't seen her in a while. We had
a fun night.

Speaker 6 (11:33):
