Christine and David have been together for a little over ten months after first meeting on Hinge a year ago. Christine tells us for the most part things have been great, but because David is a trainer who is trying to become a “fitness influencer” she has noticed David is posting less about her. At the same time, Christine has noticed that David will delete comments she leaves on his post and that someone switched out her hairbrush she left at David’s place and swapped it with a cheaper brush. Christine isn’t sure what’s going on, but asks for our help to see what’s happening.

We call David pretending to send him a free bouquet of flowers and when we ask David who he wants them sent to, he asks us to send them to someone named Megan. Find out what’s really going on in this week’s War Of The Roses!

Speaker 1 (00:06):
Or the roses on Internshohn in your morning show, you
think your partner's stepping out, you think they're being shady.
We want to stop the thinking and just get the answers. Christine,
good morning, Good morning. So let's get into this. You
and David have known each other for how long? But
been a relationship for how long?

Speaker 2 (00:25):
As well?

Speaker 3 (00:28):
We've known each other for about a year.

Speaker 4 (00:30):
And we've been dating for about ten months.

Speaker 2 (00:33):
Okay in first match on Hinge? Is that correct?

Speaker 3 (00:37):
Yeah, we met them hinge?

Speaker 2 (00:39):
Okay?

Speaker 1 (00:39):
And what about David's profile slash online persona if you will?

Speaker 2 (00:44):
Made him stand out in the dating world.

Speaker 4 (00:48):
Obviously on dating apps, A lot of it is just
based off of the pictures they post. And he's a
personal trainer, so there's like a lot of pictures of him.

Speaker 3 (00:58):
Like at the gym and all this stuff. Certain, that's
just reconnected.

Speaker 1 (01:04):
You bring up him being a personal trainer, I feel
like that's kind of part of the reason that we're here. So,
if I'm reading this right, over the last couple of months,
he's kind of shifted focus to being like a I
want to say, online trainer, but like a fitness personality.

Speaker 5 (01:20):
Is that fair influencer, ye, like.

Speaker 4 (01:24):
Maybe trying to be an influencer. His Instagram has turned
more into what he calls a professional page.

Speaker 5 (01:32):
Okay, so he.

Speaker 3 (01:35):
Doesn't you know, post me really anymore.

Speaker 4 (01:40):
But what was really weird was he has now started
deleating my comments that I leave on his toes.

Speaker 1 (01:48):
Okay, and so like, for let's say, for example, he
posts like this is a tri step workout. What what
comment would you leave on that?

Speaker 4 (02:00):
I would say like looking so great, like you know,
like hyping him up.

Speaker 5 (02:04):
Okay?

Speaker 2 (02:05):
Has he told you why he did that?

Speaker 1 (02:07):
Do you say, hey, please don't do that or is
it just like, uh, pretend like he has no idea.

Speaker 4 (02:15):
I mean he just like is they Oh it's professional,
Like I'm trying to like keep all the comments like
professional and it just doesn't make any sense.

Speaker 2 (02:26):
Okay.

Speaker 1 (02:27):
As far as the profile changing to more of like
an influence a profile now, he said he's not posting
you as much. Are there photos of you up from
the past or is he taken those down?

Speaker 4 (02:39):
Yeah? There used to be pictures of me, and there
still are a couple from like period at the bottom,
but he's deleted the majority of them.

Speaker 1 (02:48):
Okay, And I need you explain the the brush because
I'm a dude and I don't understand. So you you
don't live together, but you've left some stuff at his place.

Speaker 4 (02:58):
Right, Yeah, so we don't live together, but I'm over
at his house a lot, and I will leave my.

Speaker 3 (03:08):
Things there on accident, are just on purpose, so it'll
be there.

Speaker 4 (03:10):
Next time i'm there.

Speaker 3 (03:11):
And I left my dry braar, my dry bar hair brush.

Speaker 5 (03:16):
There and like the hair dryer brush.

Speaker 4 (03:21):
Yeah yeah, and it was super nice.

Speaker 3 (03:23):
I love it.

Speaker 4 (03:24):
I use it all the time. And next time I
went over there, it was switched out with a completely
different brush.

Speaker 5 (03:35):
That's weird.

Speaker 1 (03:35):
Wow, almost like somebody took it, yeah.

Speaker 4 (03:39):
And then tried to maybe replace it with and they
don't know anything.

Speaker 2 (03:44):
About hair brush.

Speaker 5 (03:45):
It's also like dry bars. It's like a very.

Speaker 1 (03:50):
Yellow Let's let's do this, Christine. Let's uh love Sosca
from the Flower Company, off from the roses. They got
to go to you, obviously, girlfriend ten months if they
go to somebody else, Loo get some answers for you.

Speaker 2 (04:01):
Okay, thank you.

Speaker 1 (04:04):
Wore the rosies in less than three minutes on Interns
Johnny Morning Show. Wore the rosies on Interns john in
Your Morning show, Christine, let me recap this. You and
David first met on Hinge Budd a year ago. I've
been dating officially for about ten months. Things have been good.
He is a fitness well now he has a fitness influencer,
and that has caused not really issues on that part

(04:26):
of the front. However, on his Instagram, where are you
supposed to you more? That's kind of in dial back. Also,
he is deleting comments you leave on his page. That's
kind number one.

Speaker 2 (04:37):
Correct, yeah, okay.

Speaker 1 (04:40):
And number two is that you will leave stuff at
his place. You don't live there, but you leave stuff there,
including your dry bar. The a hair dryer hair brush
was there one hundred and fifty five dollars my goodness,
and you mentioned that last weekend when you went there.
The brush is replaced with something else of one, which

(05:00):
is that kills your hair. I mean maybe they both too,
but like the Revlon one.

Speaker 5 (05:05):
Seriously, that to.

Speaker 1 (05:06):
Me, I'm not a dude. I don't think he would
get a hair brush. That to me screams somebody took it.

Speaker 4 (05:13):
Well.

Speaker 1 (05:13):
Yeah, Also sharing a hair brush is it was a
stranger essentially, maybe like.

Speaker 6 (05:18):
Someone was staying over and they brought thirs and like, oh,
I can just switch because this is way nicer.

Speaker 7 (05:23):
That's still yeah, I mean yeah, it's an odd and
fifty five.

Speaker 1 (05:29):
Real quick and not to to pour around the stare
type of trainers. But does he do like home training sessions?
Does he go to somebody's house to do that?

Speaker 4 (05:39):
No, they're at the gym. But he definitely does have
a few.

Speaker 7 (05:45):
Girls that he trained, Okay at home, it's the gym,
I think.

Speaker 6 (05:50):
I don't know.

Speaker 5 (05:50):
She's like, it's always at the gym.

Speaker 7 (05:52):
But but yeah, let's do this.

Speaker 1 (06:01):
We'll have sauce called David off from the Roses. They
should go to you girlfriend of ten months. If they do,
we'd put them on hold. If they don't, we go
else fore. Okay, all right, I want.

Speaker 2 (06:10):
Say not the stereotype, but we have heard that with trainers.

Speaker 5 (06:14):
That's yeah, showing them how to punch press in the bedroom.

Speaker 2 (06:18):
Getting there nice and deep black, yeah, deeper brother you.

Speaker 6 (06:25):
Hello, Hi, I am calling for David. Oh yeah, Hi,
my name is Autumn calling you from a new flower shop.
We just opened and we are trying out some new
marketing where we're offering once a week a local a
free bouquet of Roses, just hoping that if you see
the product in person, that you come back to us.
It's kind of like a you know, you get a
gold star for whoever special in your life you want

(06:46):
to send them to, and it's totally free, no credit
card and phonated. We just wanted to try to, you know,
get people in our door.

Speaker 8 (06:54):
This is said.

Speaker 6 (06:56):
We actually just opened down town. My parents opened the shop. Yes, mom,
I just want to help her dream come true. I
feel like Instagram as you just like kind of scroll
through so you don't want see it anymore. But if
you get the product for free, especially flowers, making someone's
a day, okay, but the holiday's coming up, like hopefully
you would come back.

Speaker 8 (07:12):
Maybe I'm all about supporting, you know, their own business.

Speaker 6 (07:17):
So thank you, No, I seriously, I appreciate it.

Speaker 5 (07:20):
Yet.

Speaker 6 (07:21):
So I'm gonna make you a little profile, David, just
in case you decide to come back, and we can
be like, oh, David Houso and so whoever you send
them to. So uh, first I'll start with the name
and then we'll just go from there.

Speaker 5 (07:30):
Is that cool?

Speaker 8 (07:32):
Sure? Megan?

Speaker 5 (07:35):
Oh my god, what have you? That's my mother's name?
Love it? What is she to you, you know, girlfriend, wife,
sister mom.

Speaker 8 (07:41):
She's a dear friend.

Speaker 6 (07:44):
Dear friend, dear Megan. Okay, that's weird. That doesn't sound
the same as dear John, you know, dear front.

Speaker 4 (07:49):
Sure for sure.

Speaker 6 (07:50):
And then we're gonna make you a little flower card,
of course. And then what do you want the flower
card to say? It's just her typical flower card.

Speaker 8 (07:57):
Sure you can have it to say. I can't wait
to watch us grow together.

Speaker 4 (08:03):
What the growing with Megan? Who is Megan?

Speaker 2 (08:07):

I got sas rose here. That is your girlfriend Christine?
Who is Megan? And what do you grow and helping
out little beanstock?

Speaker 8 (08:23):
What? Okay? First of all, it's not like that. It's
for business. It's for my brand. We're doing.

Speaker 3 (08:29):
Really, we're doing like.

Speaker 8 (08:31):
Yeah, it's not like that. Christine is all Christine. No,
she has a she also has a boyfriend.

The Burden

The Burden

The Burden is a documentary series that takes listeners into the hidden places where justice is done (and undone). It dives deep into the lives of heroes and villains. And it focuses a spotlight on those who triumph even when the odds are against them. Season 5 - The Burden: Death & Deceit in Alliance On April Fools Day 1999, 26-year-old Yvonne Layne was found murdered in her Alliance, Ohio home. David Thorne, her ex-boyfriend and father of one of her children, was instantly a suspect. Another young man admitted to the murder, and David breathed a sigh of relief, until the confessed murderer fingered David; “He paid me to do it.” David was sentenced to life without parole. Two decades later, Pulitzer winner and podcast host, Maggie Freleng (Bone Valley Season 3: Graves County, Wrongful Conviction, Suave) launched a “live” investigation into David's conviction alongside Jason Baldwin (himself wrongfully convicted as a member of the West Memphis Three). Maggie had come to believe that the entire investigation of David was botched by the tiny local police department, or worse, covered up the real killer. Was Maggie correct? Was David’s claim of innocence credible? In Death and Deceit in Alliance, Maggie recounts the case that launched her career, and ultimately, “broke” her.” The results will shock the listener and reduce Maggie to tears and self-doubt. This is not your typical wrongful conviction story. In fact, it turns the genre on its head. It asks the question: What if our champions are foolish? Season 4 - The Burden: Get the Money and Run “Trying to murder my father, this was the thing that put me on the path.” That’s Joe Loya and that path was bank robbery. Bank, bank, bank, bank, bank. In season 4 of The Burden: Get the Money and Run, we hear from Joe who was once the most prolific bank robber in Southern California, and beyond. He used disguises, body doubles, proxies. He leaped over counters, grabbed the money and ran. Even as the FBI was closing in. It was a showdown between a daring bank robber, and a patient FBI agent. Joe was no ordinary bank robber. He was bright, articulate, charismatic, and driven by a dark rage that he summoned up at will. In seven episodes, Joe tells all: the what, the how… and the why. Including why he tried to murder his father. Season 3 - The Burden: Avenger Miriam Lewin is one of Argentina’s leading journalists today. At 19 years old, she was kidnapped off the streets of Buenos Aires for her political activism and thrown into a concentration camp. Thousands of her fellow inmates were executed, tossed alive from a cargo plane into the ocean. Miriam, along with a handful of others, will survive the camp. Then as a journalist, she will wage a decades long campaign to bring her tormentors to justice. Avenger is about one woman’s triumphant battle against unbelievable odds to survive torture, claim justice for the crimes done against her and others like her, and change the future of her country. Season 2 - The Burden: Empire on Blood Empire on Blood is set in the Bronx, NY, in the early 90s, when two young drug dealers ruled an intersection known as “The Corner on Blood.” The boss, Calvin Buari, lived large. He and a protege swore they would build an empire on blood. Then the relationship frayed and the protege accused Calvin of a double homicide which he claimed he didn’t do. But did he? Award-winning journalist Steve Fishman spent seven years to answer that question. This is the story of one man’s last chance to overturn his life sentence. He may prevail, but someone’s gotta pay. The Burden: Empire on Blood is the director’s cut of the true crime classic which reached #1 on the charts when it was first released half a dozen years ago. Season 1 - The Burden In the 1990s, Detective Louis N. Scarcella was legendary. In a city overrun by violent crime, he cracked the toughest cases and put away the worst criminals. “The Hulk” was his nickname. Then the story changed. Scarcella ran into a group of convicted murderers who all say they are innocent. They turned themselves into jailhouse-lawyers and in prison founded a lway firm. When they realized Scarcella helped put many of them away, they set their sights on taking him down. And with the help of a NY Times reporter they have a chance. For years, Scarcella insisted he did nothing wrong. But that’s all he’d say. Until we tracked Scarcella to a sauna in a Russian bathhouse, where he started to talk..and talk and talk. “The guilty have gone free,” he whispered. And then agreed to take us into the belly of the beast. Welcome to The Burden.
