Tiffany and Justin have been dating for almost year and even though they both work crazy hours things have worked for the most part. Tiffany tells us that Justin spent the night at her place, but Tiffany had to use Justin’s car to do some errands the next day. When Tiffany was looking through the GPS she noticed that Justin had a bunch of residential addresses in his saved places and she’s convinced Justin may be seeing other people in addition to her.

We call Justin pretending to offer him a free bouquet of flowers and when we ask him who he wants them sent to, Justin asks if they can be sent to someone named Amber. Find out what’s really going on in this week’s War Of The Roses!

Speaker 1 (00:06):
More the roses on Internsjohn in your morning show, you're
dating somebody you think maybe they could be the one,
but then some things pop.

Speaker 2 (00:14):
Up the making go m is there something else going on?

Speaker 1 (00:18):
We try to rip off that band aid, Tiffany, good morning,
Good morning.

Speaker 2 (00:23):
So you and Justin have been together for how long?

Speaker 3 (00:27):
Just about a year?

Speaker 2 (00:28):
Okay?

Speaker 1 (00:29):
And in that year you mentioned an email, things have
gone well partially because you both have a similar work schedule.

Speaker 2 (00:36):
Is that fair?

Speaker 4 (00:37):
Yeah, I mean we both work a lot of hours,
but we do have some overlap time, and so you know,
we're pretty we're pretty understanding of each other's hours.

Speaker 5 (00:48):
And so good.

Speaker 3 (00:49):
We want to spend as much time as.

Speaker 4 (00:51):
We can together, So we're over already Chuck's places a lot.

Speaker 1 (00:54):
Do you think that both of you having the crazy
schedules makes easier to understand the person's got work a
lot and that kind of makes the relationships younger. Do
you think that's like a benefit of having busy schedules?

Speaker 4 (01:07):
Yeah, I mean it definitely allows us to show each
other a lot of grace because we understand this busy lifestyle.

Speaker 2 (01:13):
Sure, okay, that makes sense.

Speaker 1 (01:15):
The reason we're doing War of the Rows is and
this one, to me is interesting because it seems like
there's no immediate red flying. But this could be a
case of divine intervention, so to speak. So explain what
happened this past weekend.

Speaker 4 (01:30):
Yeah, so he stays over my place and I didn't
realize until the morning, but his car was behind mine. Sure,
and he likes to sleep in And I'm like, you
know what, I understand.

Speaker 3 (01:41):
He's busy, he's tired. I got a couple of instruments,
so I just take his car into the store.

Speaker 4 (01:46):
Yeah, I'm stuck in traffic for a bit on my
way back, and I'm just sitting there board and so
I'm poking around on like he's got a cooler car
than me.

Speaker 3 (01:57):
So I'm poking around on his little dashboard to see
how it all works.

Speaker 4 (01:59):
Sure, And on the maps, I see that he's his
like previous locations, like his repeated locations. I've got a
lot of like residential areas on it. Okay, And he
and he's like he does he doesn't do a lot
other than work because he's so busy. Sure, and so
I don't really recognize these places well.

Speaker 1 (02:23):
And I think it's importantly note that he does medical
device sales correct, Yes, So like he's not going house
to house fair, you know, he's he's going to office buildings.

Speaker 5 (02:33):
And but what the would.

Speaker 6 (02:35):
Like with some of like the is like a medspa
kind of thing. Would they be around there a residence?

Speaker 5 (02:41):
I don't know.

Speaker 2 (02:42):
I wouldn't think.

Speaker 3 (02:43):
So I was just they wouldn't be here where I
was seeing it.

Speaker 1 (02:47):
Okay, because we're talking like full on apartment complexes in
a couple of houses.

Speaker 2 (02:51):
Is that fair?

Speaker 3 (02:52):
Like townhomes stuff like that?

Speaker 1 (02:53):
Okay, And so that's kind of why you want to
do war the Rows is right, just because it is
odd that be in the car. I guess too if
it's in the car, Like this is to me where
it gets odd because I use GPS on my phone
rarely put it in the car. Yeah, I'm saying the
car goes to the Apple Play. If somebody's putting it
in the car, it's probably because they don't want somebody

(03:15):
to get their phone and see.

Speaker 2 (03:16):
Where they're going.

Speaker 5 (03:16):
That's a good point.

Speaker 1 (03:17):
Yeah, Like that to me is like the like that's
almost like printing off directions instead of used your GPS.

Speaker 6 (03:24):
Yeah, I mean, like it's because it takes so long
at least in my car if I were to put
it manually, and it takes forever to do it that.

Speaker 1 (03:31):
Way correct, So that to me is why that that
is interesting. So let's do this, Tiffany love Sauce. Call
from the Flower Company, Off from the roses. This should
go to you girlfriend of nearly a year. If they do,
would put them on hold. Seat you want to do
if they go somewhere else, though, we'll get some answers
for you.

Speaker 2 (03:47):
Okay, I wore.

Speaker 1 (03:50):
The roses in less than three minutes on Intern John
in your morning show. Swore the roses on Internshohn in
your morning show. Tiffany, let me recap this. You and
Je been together a little well close to a year.
Everything's been good. You both have very busy schedules, which
is part of the reason why you think it's worked
out so well, because you both have an understanding of

(04:10):
you're busy, I'm busy, YadA, YadA. This past weekend, Justin
was crashing at your place. He tends to sleep in
the weekends. You're more of a busy body. You wake
up realize his car is blocking you in, so you
take his car to around some errands while killing time
and traffic.

Speaker 2 (04:26):
You're playing around this car.

Speaker 1 (04:27):
You see some of the safe places his car has
been GPS wise, you realize that it's not businesses. It's
more residential areas. So you were wondering who whose house
he's going to see? Is that kind of fair?

Speaker 3 (04:40):
Pretty much? That's it.

Speaker 2 (04:42):
A couple of things to add here.

Speaker 1 (04:43):
So the car itself is brand new, right, right, And
you mentioned he got it after you guys started dating.
We were talking out there a little bit, so it's
not like it could have been a girl before you.
It's like he's this car is only like six months old, right.

Speaker 3 (04:58):
It was super new. I was just hooking around, and
I'm a little nervous.

Speaker 1 (05:03):
Yeah, before we call him real quick. Friends and family
on your side, are they in favor of him? Do
they like you guys together?

Speaker 5 (05:10):
Yeah?

Speaker 4 (05:10):
I mean, you know, we've met each other's families and
it's it's all been seemingly really good.

Speaker 3 (05:16):
I just kind of got a gross feeling about.

Speaker 1 (05:17):
This, no, no, no doubt. And they his friends? How
how how are his friends to you?

Speaker 3 (05:25):
I don't hang out with them a lot. They all
seem nice. Okay, Wow, I never thought worried about.

Speaker 1 (05:32):
Them, Like, it's not like you walk around. You can tell,
like the the tension of the room, like, oh she.

Speaker 2 (05:36):
Has what's going on?

Speaker 5 (05:37):
They don't like you?

Speaker 7 (05:39):
Yeah?

Speaker 3 (05:39):
No, It's all seemed normal to me.

Speaker 1 (05:41):
Okay, So let's say this love sauce call from the
flower company. Off of the roses. They are off her
after him, the roses, my goodness should go to you.
If they do, we'll put them on hold to you. You
want to do if they go somewhere else, look at
some answers for you. Okay, okay, one second, try I
get this going.

Speaker 5 (06:08):
Hello, I'm calling for Justin.

Speaker 8 (06:12):
Yeah, who's calling?

Speaker 4 (06:13):
Hi?

Speaker 5 (06:14):
My name is Addie. I'm calling you from a new
local flower shop.

Speaker 6 (06:16):
We're trying out some new marketing where we're offering a
local free bouquet of a dozen red roses. It's just
our slow season and we're hoping that you'll use us
in the future. We own your credit card info, nothing
like that. So can I get who you want to
send those out to?

Speaker 8 (06:32):
How did you even get my number?

Speaker 4 (06:34):
At?

Speaker 6 (06:34):
Google sends out lists for zip codes, and we're just
trying to keep things local, not having know like Instagram
ads or anything, just hoping that if we provide you
a free bouquet of a dozen roses that you'll just
use us instead of like a national chain, you know,
because we're local mom pop shop.

Speaker 8 (06:51):
Yeah, I don't know. I don't really know. I don't
know if that's something I want to do.

Speaker 5 (06:55):
Actually, Okay, I.

Speaker 6 (06:56):
Mean, can I just like say just one thing and
then maybe you like twist your arm and if you
definitely don't want them, that's fine, I'll move on. But
you would be like supporting my parents, like new business
and everything. And also, you know, it's totally free and
it makes you look like the hero. I'm sure you
have someone you can send flowers to.

Speaker 2 (07:15):
You're good at sales, okay, fine?

Speaker 3 (07:16):
Sure?

Speaker 6 (07:17):
Oh yeah, okay cool. So I'm gonna make like a
little profile for you if you will. So, can I
get a name of who you want to send them to?
They are a dozen red roses.

Speaker 2 (07:28):
Yeah, you can send them to Amber Amber.

Speaker 5 (07:31):
Like the color three eleven song. Maybe? All right? What
is she to you?

Speaker 1 (07:35):
Like?

Speaker 5 (07:35):
Your friend? Girlfriend, sister wife, sister wife?

Speaker 1 (07:39):
Yeah?

Speaker 8 (07:39):
Just to me?

Speaker 5 (07:42):
So should I put friend? Sure?

Speaker 8 (07:45):
No, no not, but you can put friend that's fine?

Speaker 6 (07:47):
Yeah, cool, Just in case you come back and I'm like, hey,
your friend Amber or how's she doing? You know, we're
trying to keep you know, within the local economy and like,
you know, neighborhood.

Speaker 8 (07:55):
Uh.

Speaker 6 (07:56):
And then your your card is just like your typical
little flower card.

Speaker 5 (07:59):
What would you like that to say?

Speaker 8 (08:04):
How about does the carpet match the dreapes? It's a
design it's a little designed joke.

Speaker 6 (08:11):
Okay, so like you're you know, you're doing like home renovation,
like home designer.

The Burden

The Burden

The Burden is a documentary series that takes listeners into the hidden places where justice is done (and undone). It dives deep into the lives of heroes and villains. And it focuses a spotlight on those who triumph even when the odds are against them. Season 5 - The Burden: Death & Deceit in Alliance On April Fools Day 1999, 26-year-old Yvonne Layne was found murdered in her Alliance, Ohio home. David Thorne, her ex-boyfriend and father of one of her children, was instantly a suspect. Another young man admitted to the murder, and David breathed a sigh of relief, until the confessed murderer fingered David; “He paid me to do it.” David was sentenced to life without parole. Two decades later, Pulitzer winner and podcast host, Maggie Freleng (Bone Valley Season 3: Graves County, Wrongful Conviction, Suave) launched a “live” investigation into David's conviction alongside Jason Baldwin (himself wrongfully convicted as a member of the West Memphis Three). Maggie had come to believe that the entire investigation of David was botched by the tiny local police department, or worse, covered up the real killer. Was Maggie correct? Was David’s claim of innocence credible? In Death and Deceit in Alliance, Maggie recounts the case that launched her career, and ultimately, “broke” her.” The results will shock the listener and reduce Maggie to tears and self-doubt. This is not your typical wrongful conviction story. In fact, it turns the genre on its head. It asks the question: What if our champions are foolish? Season 4 - The Burden: Get the Money and Run “Trying to murder my father, this was the thing that put me on the path.” That’s Joe Loya and that path was bank robbery. Bank, bank, bank, bank, bank. In season 4 of The Burden: Get the Money and Run, we hear from Joe who was once the most prolific bank robber in Southern California, and beyond. He used disguises, body doubles, proxies. He leaped over counters, grabbed the money and ran. Even as the FBI was closing in. It was a showdown between a daring bank robber, and a patient FBI agent. Joe was no ordinary bank robber. He was bright, articulate, charismatic, and driven by a dark rage that he summoned up at will. In seven episodes, Joe tells all: the what, the how… and the why. Including why he tried to murder his father. Season 3 - The Burden: Avenger Miriam Lewin is one of Argentina’s leading journalists today. At 19 years old, she was kidnapped off the streets of Buenos Aires for her political activism and thrown into a concentration camp. Thousands of her fellow inmates were executed, tossed alive from a cargo plane into the ocean. Miriam, along with a handful of others, will survive the camp. Then as a journalist, she will wage a decades long campaign to bring her tormentors to justice. Avenger is about one woman’s triumphant battle against unbelievable odds to survive torture, claim justice for the crimes done against her and others like her, and change the future of her country. Season 2 - The Burden: Empire on Blood Empire on Blood is set in the Bronx, NY, in the early 90s, when two young drug dealers ruled an intersection known as “The Corner on Blood.” The boss, Calvin Buari, lived large. He and a protege swore they would build an empire on blood. Then the relationship frayed and the protege accused Calvin of a double homicide which he claimed he didn’t do. But did he? Award-winning journalist Steve Fishman spent seven years to answer that question. This is the story of one man’s last chance to overturn his life sentence. He may prevail, but someone’s gotta pay. The Burden: Empire on Blood is the director’s cut of the true crime classic which reached #1 on the charts when it was first released half a dozen years ago. Season 1 - The Burden In the 1990s, Detective Louis N. Scarcella was legendary. In a city overrun by violent crime, he cracked the toughest cases and put away the worst criminals. “The Hulk” was his nickname. Then the story changed. Scarcella ran into a group of convicted murderers who all say they are innocent. They turned themselves into jailhouse-lawyers and in prison founded a lway firm. When they realized Scarcella helped put many of them away, they set their sights on taking him down. And with the help of a NY Times reporter they have a chance. For years, Scarcella insisted he did nothing wrong. But that’s all he’d say. Until we tracked Scarcella to a sauna in a Russian bathhouse, where he started to talk..and talk and talk. “The guilty have gone free,” he whispered. And then agreed to take us into the belly of the beast. Welcome to The Burden.
