Gabby and David first started dating two years ago after first meeting in college and for the most part things have been great. Gabby tells us that normally during the summer she stays at her family’s beach house to work from home and usually David visits her on the weekends. However, David has barely visited her this year and she’s also noticed that her friend and roommate Dana seems super invested into David’s birthday in a few weeks. Gabby isn’t sure if something is going on between the two of them so she asks for our help.
We call David pretending to offer him a free bouquet of flowers and when we ask him who he wants them sent to, David asks if they can be sent to Dana. Find out what’s really going on in this week’s War Of The Roses!

Speaker 1 (00:07):
War Are the Roses on Internshohn in Your Morning Show.
There is no better feeling than love. It's a beatle thing.
You find your person, They're there for you, you ride
or die. There's no worse feeling, though, than finding out
that person might be stepping out. We try to rip
off that band aid with War of the Roses. Gabby,
good morning.

Speaker 2 (00:27):
Hey, good morning guys.

Speaker 1 (00:28):
So, going through your email, you and David have been
together officially met in college, but together two years, right.

Speaker 2 (00:37):
Yes, that's correct, just a little over two years.

Speaker 1 (00:39):
And how those past two years been so far?

Speaker 2 (00:44):
Everything's good, I mean, everything's been going fine. We don't
really live far from each other except when I go
home in the summers to New Jersey. But either way
she comes up like every weekend and go to the beach.
And then this summer she's only come up once for
Memorial the weekend, and I just thought's been a weird.
I do live with my friend.

Speaker 1 (01:03):
I don't want to cut you up. Let's let's just
kind of recap this quick. So you you're from Jersey originally, yep,
you see. You live down here though, so but during
the summer you go home because you can work from
home correct, right, right, right, and your family's got the shorehouse.
So last year he was there basically every weekend, going
to the beach, relaxing the okay, but summer twenty twenty five,

(01:26):
here we are, you know, summer's basically over. He's only
about one time all summer.

Speaker 3 (01:33):
Yeah, just a memorial base is has.

Speaker 1 (01:35):
He given you a reason why he hasn't come up.

Speaker 2 (01:39):
She just said that he's busy and he has stuff
to do, and he's okay.

Speaker 1 (01:44):
Is it a case where he had told you prior, like, hey,
I'm probably not going to come up a lot this
the summer. Or is it kind of out of the
blue like Memorial Day hit and then he is kind
of stopped coming.

Speaker 4 (01:55):
No, no, no, it.

Speaker 2 (01:55):
Was totally out of the blue, Like he just stops
coming and he says, no, he's really busy.

Speaker 4 (02:00):
To be like work related. Maybe he wants to avoid
the traffic every weekend.

Speaker 2 (02:06):
He really didn't say anything. He's just like I'm busy.
I have like Aaron st run and chores to do
around and like, okay, I just can't make it. And
it's the same thing all the time.

Speaker 1 (02:14):
And so now let's get to the roommates. So your
roommate is involved in this, how.

Speaker 2 (02:20):
So I live with her. And at first they didn't
like each other like at all, like they would never talk,
they just they hated each other. But recently they've gotten
really close and they started hanging out.

Speaker 1 (02:32):
And now they start hanging out without you, well with me, but.

Speaker 2 (02:41):
Like the three of us, and like it's like I
feel like like you're hanging out more.

Speaker 4 (02:45):
They all maybe like, are you guys all part of
a friend group that they end up seeing each other out?

Speaker 1 (02:51):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (02:52):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, well I get the same friends group,
but it's kind of like.

Speaker 1 (02:56):
I'm a weird one now gating there, and so why
do we want to do War of the Roses?

Speaker 2 (03:01):
So all of a sudden, she's like, hey, it's his
birthday coming up. What do you want to do? And
I was like, what, Like, that's my boyfriend. Why are
you asking me that you don't even like him? You're
gonna You're supposed to be the one that's being invited,
not me.

Speaker 1 (03:17):
Sure.

Speaker 2 (03:17):
Yeah, So he's just talking about his birthday and like
plans and yeah, I'm just.

Speaker 1 (03:25):
I'm gonna cut you off, Gabby. Is this a situation
where we don't have any necessarily concrete proof. However, we
got the hunch, we got a feeling. We rather just
find out yes, no than sitting with this anxiety through
the rest of summer. Is that fair?

Speaker 2 (03:40):
Yeah, that's fair.

Speaker 1 (03:40):
Okay, So let's do this. Weve sauce call from the
flower company, from the roses. They should go to you
girlfriend of two years. Obviously. If they do, we'll put
them on hold. If they go somewhere else, we'll get
answers for you.

Speaker 3 (03:51):
Okay, all right, so good.

Speaker 1 (03:54):
I wore the roses just over two minutes on Intern John,
your morning show. Wore the Roses on Intern John and
in your morning show, Gaby. Let me recap this quick.
You and David met in college, been dating about the
last two years. You are from Jersey. Originally during the
summer you go back home. Your family has a short hoouse.
You can work from there and usually I mean guests.

(04:14):
Last year David was basically up there every weekend, hanging
out the beach, so on, so forth. This year's come
up one time more all day weekend, and then Conna
has gone vanish. In the meantime, you have a roommate.
You say her name is an Emai Dana.

Speaker 3 (04:30):
Is that right, Yeah, that's right.

Speaker 1 (04:32):
And you mentioned that Dana and David's seen have gotten
a little bit closer since you've been gone this summer.
They'll hang out in group settings. She's mentioned to you
about his birthday coming up, and that's why you feel
a little bit, I want to say icky, but like suspicious.

Speaker 3 (04:46):
Is that fair?

Speaker 2 (04:48):
Yeah, that's right.

Speaker 1 (04:49):
Have there been weekends this summer where Dana's gone up
to the beach house without David?

Speaker 2 (04:58):
I mean just once. I didn't really think anything of it.

Speaker 1 (05:01):
Was it Memorral Day weekend? Or was she at a
different time? Because my like, how many weekends in theory
have they been? Could they have been with each other?
I guess it's my question, do you know what I mean?

Speaker 4 (05:09):
Yeah, like, does she go up to visit you and
David didn't come up?

Speaker 2 (05:15):
I mean she did come up to Memorial Day weekend?

Speaker 1 (05:18):
Okay, so that was it.

Speaker 2 (05:19):
We were just like, yeah, that was we were just
doing like a friends thing.

Speaker 1 (05:23):
So in theory, every weekend since then they've both been
in the same area, and that's that's kind of part
of the worry.

Speaker 3 (05:29):
Is that fair?

Speaker 2 (05:31):
Yeah, that's right.

Speaker 1 (05:32):
Okay. And you mentioned too that they were never that
friendly before, but now they've soon gotten closer.

Speaker 2 (05:39):
Yeah, they hated each other, they can stand.

Speaker 1 (05:42):
So let's do this. Weve sauce, call from the flower company,
off from the roses. They should go to you, clearly
go friend of two years. If they go to you,
we'll put them on hold. Suit what you want to do,
we can hang up whatever. If they go somewhere else, though,
we'll get some answers for you. Okay, all right, let's
one second. I do think it's weird to this not
mention you're gonna be busy all summer. Yeah, especially if,

(06:03):
like you know, the plan is to do shorehouse.

Speaker 4 (06:06):
And also if like you miss or ask her to
come back.

Speaker 1 (06:09):
That's a good point too.

Speaker 3 (06:10):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (06:13):
Hell, Hi is this David?

Speaker 3 (06:16):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (06:16):
Who's this?

Speaker 3 (06:17):
Hi?

Speaker 4 (06:17):
My name is Krista. I'm calling you from a new
local flower shop we just opened downtown. We're called why
Miss Flowers. We're trying outs in marketing where we're offering
a local week a free bouquet of a dozen red roses.
And you actually came up on my list. Don't need
your credit card and po.

Speaker 3 (06:30):
Sorry, I don't want to be rude, but I'm going
to shut you down. I didn't ask for this, I'm
not interested.

Speaker 4 (06:35):
I totally I totally understand. I'm just trying to get
the flowers for my parents, like brand new flower shop
out there since it's slow season, and so I've just
been calling mostly men. I will I will be honest
with you, hoping that like they'll want to look good
this week, you know, impress someone special in my life
for free.

Speaker 3 (06:49):
We want to buy any flowers though, Lady, I don't
want to buy any flowers.

Speaker 4 (06:53):
Lady I am. I am young first of all. Second,
all tully free sorry tully free or.

Speaker 3 (06:58):
Whoever you are. I don't want to buy your flowers.

Speaker 4 (07:00):
Okay, I don't need a credit card info. But anyway,
all right, So if you don't want to make anyone's
week for free, that's fine. I was just hoping that
you want to support your local economy, but guess not.
I totally get it. I I need getting right of what.

Speaker 3 (07:14):
It's free.

Speaker 4 (07:15):
Yes, I've said that a few times now. It's totally free.
Don't need your credit card info. I'm just trying to
like help my parents like new shop flourish before the
holiday season and establish new clients. But if you're not interested,
I get it. It sounds like you're having a rough day.
I wouldn't want to waste her time.

Speaker 3 (07:30):
No, I just I'm not a big fan of telemarketers.

Speaker 4 (07:33):
Want a telemarketer your help and support your community if
you were to like maybe get like do this, and
then you come back eventually buy buy someone specially in
your life, some flowers, or even like a funeral. We
can do funerals too.

Speaker 3 (07:45):
Okay, no, he got me of it. In what do
I gotta do? I'll be a good community member.

Speaker 4 (07:50):
Oh Mash, thank you so much. Okay. So basically I'm
going to start making a little profile for you just
in case you do come back, and I can be
like David, how's so and so? So? They are a
dozen red ros. I don't think I mentioned that. So
who do you want to send them to? I would
say that they're romantic, but we've had people send them
to their sisters and their moms before too. So we
just need I just need like a first name, last

(08:11):
like it doesn't matter. First name.

Speaker 3 (08:14):
Okay, yeah, Dana, alright.

Speaker 4 (08:19):
Perfect, And then I'm just gonna write down like we
have little categories just you know, like how's Dana your girlfriend,
wife's sister, cousin, Brian.

Speaker 3 (08:31):
Just get a friend of mine.

Speaker 4 (08:33):
Ran. Okay, they are red roses though, just thrown it
out there like they're I would say they're the romantic.

Speaker 3 (08:39):
But can I send a message or something with them? Yeah?

Speaker 4 (08:42):
Yeah, yeah, we're gonna quet flower car, the typical flower car.
What do you want to say?

Speaker 3 (08:48):
Just like you deserve something good? You have a roommate.
I don't know your roommate?

Speaker 2 (08:56):
Yes you do?

Speaker 4 (08:57):
Hi?

Speaker 2 (08:59):
Oh yeah, hello are your roommates? Wait a minute, what is.

Speaker 1 (09:06):
It David Delay?

Speaker 2 (09:09):
Here?

Speaker 1 (09:10):
My name's intern John. I got so rose here. We're
doing one of the roses on the show. And you
let you know that that's your girlfriend Gabby, who is asking?
Are you hooking up with Dana in her roommate?

Speaker 3 (09:23):
No?

Speaker 2 (09:25):
No, So what are the flowers for?

Speaker 4 (09:27):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (09:29):
Because they're free?

Speaker 3 (09:31):
And she what are you talking about right now? Is
your roommate?

Speaker 4 (09:35):
And no?

Speaker 1 (09:35):
Okay?

Speaker 2 (09:36):
Why flowered?

Speaker 3 (09:38):
Yes?

Speaker 1 (09:39):
Romantic my roses?

Speaker 3 (09:40):
Yes that doesn't Yeah you said they were romantic. I
just I just sent a friend some flowers.

Speaker 4 (09:47):
Why would you send them to your girlfriend.

Speaker 3 (09:49):
Going through she's like going through some stuff right now,
And I was just trying to do something nice, Like what.

Speaker 2 (09:54):
What do you mean she's going through some stuff?

Speaker 3 (09:56):
No, she's not.

Speaker 2 (09:56):
She's flying. Why would you send them to me here?

Speaker 4 (09:58):
And why would why would you know that?

Speaker 3 (10:00):
Apparently she doesn't talk to you very much. She tells
me more about her life. I guess because she's going
through some pretty serious No. I'm not trying to put
her off last, so I'm not going to put it
up there.

Speaker 1 (10:09):
Okay, David, So what you're saying is is that you
are being a good human because your girlfriend's roommate confides
in you things she doesn't tell your girlfriend, and so
you really know what's going on. Because of that, you're
being a good guy and getting her roses.

Speaker 3 (10:24):
Sounds like you're paying attention. Yeah, that's exactly what's happening.
Checks out.

Speaker 4 (10:31):
Okay, So but you still decide to send them to
Dana over your actual girlfriend.

Speaker 3 (10:37):
My girlfriend is not dealing with the kind of things
that Dane is dealing with right now.

Speaker 1 (10:41):
What is she dealing with?

Speaker 3 (10:42):
Great?

Speaker 1 (10:43):
Until this, I don't know what besides disappointment in the bedroom.

Speaker 4 (10:47):
It sounds like you also don't even know what Gabby's
going through because you don't talk to her. Sounds like
you talk to Dana more than Gabby.

Speaker 3 (10:57):
Right now, I am you.

Speaker 1 (10:59):
Haven't come up because he's going down. I'm busy with.

Speaker 4 (11:08):
Me. We're cornering you.

Speaker 1 (11:10):
You wish Who are you?

Speaker 3 (11:14):
