Speaker 1 (00:04):
Hey, the just want to correction. So watercress is an
invasive species in Florida. Water chestnut is the crunchy things
you get in Asian food. So the watercress is one
of those weird leafy, green, aquatic and emergent plants that
will pretty much take over a lot of area.

Speaker 2 (00:25):
Well, thank you for the correction. CDC still says it's
one of the it's the top.

the waters watercress.

Speaker 3 (01:42):
I mean what I can pull off? No, I guess
out of touch.

Speaker 7 (01:46):
I can be.

Speaker 5 (01:49):
Do you play video game? No?

Speaker 3 (01:51):
Not since I was eighteen, bro, So yeah, I'm pop
pop to you.

Speaker 6 (01:54):
All right, we're gonna learn a little bit. The game
awards happened last night. Jack, I'm sure you're a half
man sitting over there.

Speaker 4 (02:02):
Yes, I am a happy man. I was not aware
that the game awards were on last night. So what
happened to me?

Speaker 6 (02:07):
Expedition thirty three to won nine awards last night and
Game of the Year.

Speaker 4 (02:12):
Okay, so this was a game that Ross predicted, he
told me. When he told me about this game, Ross
was like, he checked this game out. These developers left
this company to do their own thing. I downloaded it,
I started playing it. It's a beautiful game, and it
for me, it just got a little too hard and

(02:34):
I wasn't interested enough to try and learn to conquer it.

Speaker 3 (02:38):
And then I kind of I gave up on it.

Speaker 4 (02:40):
He kept playing and said it was one of the
greatest games I played it.

Speaker 3 (02:44):
I was like, eh, I played better.

Speaker 4 (02:47):
Visually it was gorgeous and ross predicted. He goes, there's
you know, this could be the game of the year.
So I guess they won the award.

Speaker 6 (02:55):
Yeah, they won pretty much almost every award they were
selected for, nine of thirteen.

Speaker 4 (03:00):
Wow, you got to feel good if you and seven
of your coworkers say hey, we're leaving because we think
we can do this better.

Speaker 2 (03:07):
And then you prove that you can.

Speaker 5 (03:08):
To the rocket.

Speaker 6 (03:09):
Yeah, now my favorite game. For the last month and
a half, I've been addicted. It's been my whole life.
Arc Raiders have won Best Multiplayer Game of the Year,
which in a two month span, you're already winning awards.
I think you're doing pretty solid for your for your
video game.

Speaker 4 (03:24):
Not bad if it's out that long. So how would
you describe that came? Someone has no idea what Arc
Raiders is.

Speaker 6 (03:29):
Arc Raiders is this survival game. You're just looting around,
You're killing people. There's these giant drones and when I
tell you, it's like a movie, they're flying at you.
I'm yelling for my buddy to come save my life.
I'm I'm over here fighting. I got Megatron on me,
just dropping explosives. There's these giant things that they're called
the Queens and everything. When I tell you, they're like

(03:51):
crawling up buildings like spiders.

Speaker 5 (03:53):
It's the tear.

Speaker 6 (03:54):
It's terrifying. I got scared of drones and AI even
more than I was.

Speaker 2 (03:59):
Geez, that's and something I know.

Speaker 5 (04:01):
That's all I dream about. It's my life. It's consumed me.

Speaker 6 (04:08):
Coming with the Game Awards, there is a lot of
new game reveals, a lot of trailers.

Speaker 5 (04:13):
That's what this Game Awards really is, more than the
actual award show.

Speaker 6 (04:17):
Sons of the Forest three, I'm really excited looking forward
to this. This is the third one, but it's jumping crazy.
So it was like a modern day survival game. Both games,
you were in a plane crash, you landed on this
like Cannibal Island, and you just.

Speaker 5 (04:30):
Had to survive.

Speaker 6 (04:31):
Really, but now I got a little theory. The new
one takes place in space. It's your like one hundred
years in the past, and I'm assuming your spaceship crashes
on the same island, and now these Cannibals.

Speaker 5 (04:41):
Are like space space cannibals. Yeah, it looks crazy.

Speaker 4 (04:45):
Audio games seem to be the same though, you know
you guys preparing Yeah yeah.

Speaker 2 (04:50):
Preparing us for a very dystopian future. Yeah yeah, and cannibals.

Speaker 3 (04:55):
Do you have tom for not understanding when you say
you have to survive? You what do you do? Like
you hand control? You're shooting these people, you collecked them.

Speaker 6 (05:02):
You are on an island, you're collecting food, you're collecting water,
you're breaking.

Speaker 5 (05:06):
Down trees, which hand control?

Speaker 6 (05:08):
Yeah, I'm on my keyboard and mouse over here, just
like this for like yeah, well, yeah, the rain probably
gets you a little sick and then you got to
find a cure.

Speaker 5 (05:18):
It's usually how some of these games go.

Speaker 6 (05:20):
Yeah, some of them get like real deep into the
survival aspects.

Speaker 2 (05:23):
Some of them are for me.

Speaker 6 (05:25):
Some of them get a little to it, a little tedious.
The rain hits me and I'm sick. Are you kidding me?

Speaker 5 (05:32):
I'm not going to play that. That's too much. Like,
come on, I.

Speaker 4 (05:38):
Don't pay attention to rain in real life. You think
I'm going to exact to it in the virtual world.

Speaker 6 (05:43):
That's what I live in Florida. Rain is going to
happen I'm not going to get sick. A couple of
weeks ago, I told you guys about the Star Wars
game that got canceled, and I was really looking forward
to it. It was the main reason I bought a
PlayStation five to begin with, and nothing happened.

Speaker 5 (05:59):
I should sue them.

Speaker 6 (06:00):
You're right, Well, they kind of refurbished the game. Instead
of remaking an old game, they're making it into a sequel.
They're using what they had in the engine they've already built, okay,
and they're just gonna turn it into a sequel, a
whole brand new game. And it looks beautiful. Now we
haven't got any gameplay. It's all cinematic, but it looks
like it's real life.

Speaker 3 (06:21):
So that's good news.

Speaker 6 (06:21):
Yeah, it's great news. Cancel the lawsuit, Yeah, cancel the lawsuit.
We can cancel the lawsuits.

Speaker 4 (06:26):
But so you said you bought a PS five four
it so is it exclusive to PlayStation now?

Speaker 5 (06:31):
No?

Speaker 6 (06:32):
Not, originally it was. Now it seems like it's coming
out to all consoles. Okay, Yeah, a PlayStation exclusive did
get shown last night.

Speaker 5 (06:41):
Last week. I told you about the Left four Dead remake.

Speaker 6 (06:44):
You know how the original creators of Left for Dead
are coming to this new company to make like a
whole new Left Wore Dead. Well, the trailer was shown
last night, and the game looks like it sucks.

Speaker 5 (06:54):
The game the game would got awful.

Speaker 6 (06:57):
It looked like it was from twenty fourteen. The graphics
just don't look how that game old?

Speaker 5 (07:02):
Yeah that old?

Speaker 6 (07:03):
I know, well listen with graphics that makes a huge difference. Yeah,
the ten years makes a drag.

Speaker 2 (07:08):
I mean even five years, I would imagine makes a
huge difference.

Speaker 6 (07:10):
Yeah, it really does. But the game just looks old.
It looks boring. It's it's a zombie alien shooter game.

Speaker 5 (07:17):
It does look really good. One another one. It just
looks really repetitive.

Speaker 6 (07:21):
If you're gonna do the same category of games, you
got to make it some type of level of interesting.

Speaker 5 (07:26):
You got to add your little twist to it. And
they are not.

Speaker 4 (07:29):
While you're right dev about how ten years in the
world of gaming and electronics and development is like a
world of time. Yet Grand Theft Auto five ten years old. Yeah, yeah,
but that people are still playing it.

Speaker 6 (07:43):
Yeah, but it's also had five different updates to make
it better at the same time. Okay, so it updates,
it gets better with each console that comes out. That's
that's how they make their money over at rock Star.
They just sell you the same game over and over.

Speaker 4 (07:57):
Yeah, and we're all waiting. We got a year until
the next Yeah.

Speaker 6 (08:00):
But GTA five just got an update and it's actually
a really big update that you can buy mansions now.

Speaker 5 (08:06):
You can. Uh you, it's not really our Tom.

Speaker 4 (08:09):
You want to buy a virtual Yeah, you want.

Speaker 5 (08:10):
To buy a virtual mansion for eleven million virtual dollars.

Speaker 3 (08:13):
I think I'm good.

Speaker 5 (08:14):
You sure.

Speaker 2 (08:14):
Yeah.

Speaker 6 (08:15):
It probably takes like four days to get and you
probably can't do much with it afterwards, but you got it.

Speaker 4 (08:20):
You know, when you're done rubbing elbows with Hollywood big wigs,
you know you need that maybe a little game time.
When's the last time you played that video game?

Speaker 3 (08:27):
Nineteen eighty one? Oh wow, I know, dude, I was king.
I was King Phoenix brother man year.

Speaker 2 (08:33):
You're born Jayden in two thousand and five.

Speaker 5 (08:34):
That's said earlier.

Speaker 7 (08:37):
That's what you said earlier. Fourteen.

Speaker 3 (08:39):
I'm like, that's half his life ago.

Speaker 4 (08:40):
Oh so this is legit arcade style, like or right,
I have to go pop a quarter in and blow
up the planet all sort of and by the end
of the summer, my name, did you click them out
and put your name on top?

Speaker 8 (08:54):
I was Tom Tommy Sorels, King Phoenix, And the day
before I left for college, some eight year old boy
came there, crush.

Speaker 3 (09:00):
I ripped my name off and I went, I'm done.

Speaker 2 (09:02):
I'm done.

Speaker 3 (09:04):
But I've never played.

Speaker 8 (09:05):
Again video So all this stuff you've done, I mean,
missus Bacman as wild as I got, So all.

Speaker 3 (09:10):
This stuff you're talking about, I'm like, this kid knows
what he's talking about.

Speaker 5 (09:14):
This kid language.

Speaker 6 (09:16):
Now, I've never talked about a Lego game on this show.
I've stopped myself. I'm gonna do it. They're quite popular,
leg Dude, They're amazing. I've been playing them since I
was a child, so I might have some little special
connection there.

Speaker 4 (09:29):
Let me ask, why why have you resisted the to
talk about it.

Speaker 5 (09:32):
I don't know. I feel like it's not the demographic here.

Speaker 2 (09:35):
I feel like many people looked around the room.

Speaker 4 (09:38):
So if you think about that, I do play video games, right,
I don't play often, and I don't play to the
level that you play. But you know so, I mean
there is different games appeal to different people. So I
think if anyone's interested in video gaming, maybe the Lego
series is good for them. And it's not building legos,
it's characters, the environ and the virtual world is constructed

(10:02):
of legos.

Speaker 3 (10:03):
Right.

Speaker 6 (10:03):
Yeah, So this Batman game, it's a Lego it's another
Lego Batman game, but it goes through every single phase
of Batman, and from Adam West to Christian Bale to
Robert Pattison to Ben Affleck, literally every single Batman is
in this game, and it takes over from the Arkhamas series.
I don't have you ever played the arkham Batman games. Now,

(10:24):
there's some of the best trilogy of all to well
there's four of them, but the best games of all time.

Speaker 5 (10:29):
I love them.

Speaker 6 (10:30):
They got me into superheroes, Batman and stuff like that.
Those games right there, they're phenomenal. They take the combat
system from that game, which is one of the greatest
combat systems I've ever played with.

Speaker 5 (10:41):
It's phenomenal.

Speaker 6 (10:42):
It's a a rhythm combat system, so you're just bouncing
from everyone, punching them in the head, just going left right, jumping.

Speaker 5 (10:48):
Off the chest.

Speaker 2 (10:48):
It's why I four But you wish.

Speaker 5 (10:50):
You could exactly your word for it. Hey man, you
you should get it.

Speaker 4 (10:55):
So so the new one is what's it called?

Speaker 5 (10:59):
Uh Ago Batman Legacy of the Dark Night.

Speaker 6 (11:02):
It releases May twenty twenty six all consoles, Steam, Epic
Game stores.

Speaker 3 (11:07):
How do you know it's so great?

Speaker 4 (11:08):
It doesn't come out for another half a year.

Speaker 6 (11:10):
I'm going off trailers. It looks phenomenal. Listen, this is
what we do in video games. We get super hyped
off trailers, and then we get really disappointed and complain
on Twitter.

Speaker 7 (11:21):
Dating, right, it sounds like dating, yeah, gets super hyped. Man,
you actually and you're like, oh, yeah, this sucks, this sucks. Yeah,
I want to go to Lego Batman.

Speaker 2 (11:31):
Yeah, and now I'm out twenty bucks.

Speaker 5 (11:35):
More than that.

Speaker 6 (11:35):
If you've been on a date recently, oh my god,
don't get me started.

Speaker 4 (11:39):
It's bad that you had it in newse a couple
of weeks or Jim did. The average date is like
one hundred and twenty and forty dollars.

Speaker 6 (11:45):
Yeah, dude, Christmas making me broke over here. We haven't
even been dating for a year. That's a completely different topics.

Speaker 3 (11:52):
You have two jobs, you have three jobs?

Speaker 5 (11:55):
Yeah, but like dude, women are expensive. I'm learning this.

Speaker 3 (11:59):
Tell us about it.

Speaker 5 (12:00):
Yeah, you guys probably know it better than me.

Speaker 3 (12:02):
To tell a wife and three daughters what's same?

Speaker 2 (12:06):
I could tell you, but it's better to watch and learn.

Speaker 5 (12:08):
Yeah, I'm learning death.

Speaker 4 (12:11):
Tell me about so the awards?

Speaker 3 (12:13):
You say, did you watch them yesterday?

Speaker 6 (12:15):
I know, I woke up and just rewatched everything, just
like the breakdown of everything.

Speaker 5 (12:19):
I don't like watching these award shows. They're so drawn out.

Speaker 4 (12:22):
Well, I'm curious that like video game awards how I mean,
I don't expect that you watch the oscars of the Emmys, But.

Speaker 3 (12:29):
What is the setup?

Speaker 4 (12:31):
Like, is it a bunch of people that they just
announced and people come up and give a thank you
speech or.

Speaker 6 (12:36):
Some if some people are there live, some people just
are virtual and they watch it on Twitch like it's
a little stream party they have on Twitch, And if
they win.

Speaker 5 (12:44):
The award, they're like ah on Twitch and everything. How's
it go like that?

Speaker 6 (12:50):
They get really hyped one of my favorite awards and
go bro, Yeah they probably do.

Speaker 5 (12:57):
Just like just like that that one of a So
there's a thing called YouTubers.

Speaker 6 (13:03):
It's like where they have this weird avatar and they
play video games. But a peanut won an award last night.
He dresses up as a peanut and plays video games.
And I'm very proud of that because he's hilarious.

Speaker 4 (13:15):
I know. I think we talked about this last week. Tom.
I was shocked to learn at that stage where I
learned that people actually just watch other people play video games.

Speaker 5 (13:25):
I've heard, yeah, but it's awesome.

Speaker 3 (13:27):
I've heard it's huge.

Speaker 4 (13:28):
The industry itself, the gaming industry is bigger than television
and movies combined.

Speaker 3 (13:33):
Crazy yeah, d.

Speaker 6 (13:36):
Games, Well, now that money is just liquid that it
is what I mean.

Speaker 2 (13:41):
Yeah, No, I watched with a girlfriend. Huh.

Speaker 5 (13:44):
Yeah, I really do.

Speaker 6 (13:46):
I just watch YouTube videos while I play video games,
Like I I it's just something I do.

Speaker 5 (13:50):
You know, the YouTube?

Speaker 3 (13:52):
So what what are you watching on YouTube? Are your gamers?

Speaker 2 (13:56):
No?

Speaker 6 (13:56):
Sometimes yeah, sometimes, if you know, if it's just more
of like a background noise for me.

Speaker 2 (14:01):
So gotta remember, there's this generation.

Speaker 3 (14:04):
That YouTube here and you're stiff here.

Speaker 5 (14:06):
It's usually on my phone. You're going back.

Speaker 6 (14:08):
Yeah, I got my phone propped up like this right here,
and every once in a while I'll peek at it
laugh ha ha ha, I'll play video games.

Speaker 1 (14:13):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (14:14):
This is the generation that it uses subtitles more on
the television my subtitles. But well, for a lot of them,
it's because they're three screening it, right, They've got their phone,
they've got their laptop, they've got, you know, something up
on the television screen. Be it YouTube.

Speaker 3 (14:28):
Do you consume news at all?

Speaker 5 (14:29):
Yeah?

Speaker 3 (14:30):
Where we're from?

Speaker 5 (14:32):
YouTube?

Speaker 3 (14:33):
Yeah?

Speaker 5 (14:33):
YouTube?

Speaker 2 (14:34):
Yeah?

Speaker 5 (14:34):
Yeah, no, no, not not TikTok. I don't really. I
don't use TikTok.

Speaker 3 (14:38):
Yeah.

Speaker 5 (14:38):
I stay away from TikTok. I don't. I don't really
like that.

Speaker 2 (14:40):
I don't know either.

Speaker 5 (14:41):
Yeah, I'm not a huge fan of it. I like
Instagram though, Instagram school.

Speaker 2 (14:44):
I'm on Instagram hours a day.

Speaker 4 (14:46):
I use YouTube when I'm gaming as well. But I'll
be playing a game I get stuck. Then I go
on YouTube. I said, show me how to get past
this you know level, and then you can watch someone
do it.

Speaker 3 (14:56):
It's like, oh, that's where.

Speaker 2 (14:57):
You can get anything on YouTube? Man, anything on YouTube.
YouTube and Instagram those are my two favorites.

Speaker 6 (15:03):
I learned how to rebuild my Mini Cooper on YouTube
broke down.

Speaker 5 (15:08):
Yeah, I mean I didn't rebuild it. My buddy did,
but we learned on YouTube.

Speaker 4 (15:11):
I just installed my dishwasher stove and last year a toilet.

Speaker 3 (15:15):
All Look, there's a lot of things. YouTube university.

Speaker 2 (15:18):
Baby, my mom fixed her dryer on YouTube university.

Speaker 5 (15:21):
Yep, it's the best university and you don't have to
pay for it.

Speaker 2 (15:23):
Exactly, exactly. Well, listen real quick before we go. What
is your dream Christmas game that if someone could put
this dream Christmas game in your stocking, what what game
would that be?

Speaker 6 (15:34):
I asked for Boulder Gates three because of him, because
I really want to play.

Speaker 5 (15:37):
It's a boulders Gate three.

Speaker 4 (15:39):
So good. Wow, buddy, I'm hoping you get it me too.
I'm not buying it for you. I already used my
company card on.

Speaker 2 (15:47):
Make sure that girlfriend gets it for you.

Speaker 5 (15:49):
Then that's the goal. That's what we're working for.

Speaker 2 (15:51):
She's listening you. Make sure you get that game.

Speaker 4 (15:53):
And your birthday coming up it's a big one. And
I know you're playing in a Vegas trip. When when
is your birthday?

Speaker 5 (16:00):
February tenth?

Speaker 6 (16:01):
But I had to delay the Vegas trip because of
the magic the schedule it intervenes.

Speaker 2 (16:06):
He's turning twenty one time I got that.

Speaker 5 (16:10):
Vegas.

Speaker 4 (16:10):
He works on the sports station and also works with
