Speaker 1 (00:00):
Van Orlando's number one hit me station, the XO one
on sixty seven Johnny's House. Weather mostly sunny. There is
a sixty percent chance of rain today. Eighty four is
a high to seventy four. Right now, we are back
at a little technical problem. As we mentioned, radio is
twenty four hours a day.
Speaker 2 (00:14):
Ghost in the machine, yep. We just sitting there talking
and said me.
Speaker 3 (00:17):
It was right in the middle of a commercial and
it just died. I'm like, your hands are ready and
on and I'm like, okay.
Speaker 2 (00:23):
Did I do something? You gotta wink, Frank, if you're listening,
appreciate you.
Speaker 3 (00:26):
Bru our engineer, Frank. The tech had to log in
from home and reboot some things go on.
Speaker 2 (00:30):
To Park High School football. That's for Frank.
Speaker 1 (00:32):
Thanks for getting year Frank. Yes, absolutely, he's always there.
If not, we'd be sitting here going.
Speaker 2 (00:37):
I tried all my fixes and they didn't work.
Speaker 3 (00:39):
I said, this is actually the most serious it's been
since we've had problems. Usually we could fix it in
the studio, but now not this time. Grace Sam going
to shoot a video real quick.
Speaker 2 (00:49):
Let me know.
Speaker 3 (00:50):
I made some graphics for football Friday. We're just chilling
we're back now.
Speaker 1 (00:55):
But radio is twenty four hours a day and sometimes
it breaks, and it just happened to break when we're
on the air of some sad news. If you are
a fan of the Post Time Lounge and Cafe in Longwood,
they made a post the other side, the general manager
posted on social media. Due to circumstances beyond my control
and with a heavy heart, I unfortunately have to inform
(01:16):
you that the Post Time Lounge, Cafe and Patio will
be closing November two. We appreciate your continued support during
this difficult time. So if you're one of those and
it's been around for a long time. When I first
moved to town, they took me two places to the
dog Track and then right down the street to the
Post Town Lounge. And the thing is, if you know
(01:37):
about the Post Time Lounge, everything around it has changed
except the Post Time Lounge. Yeah, and now it is
going in. Brian, you were there a couple weeks ago,
about a month and a half ago.
Speaker 2 (01:48):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (01:49):
It's kind of in between our house in Sanford first,
so we meet friends there.
Speaker 2 (01:53):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (01:54):
Yeah, And I grew up going to my grandma's house
in Longwood, which was in the neighborhood right behind post
Time Lounge. So I've seen it since I was a kid.
I always wanted to hang out there because my aunt
uncle's hang out there. Yes, and that I finally got to.
And here's what I liked it.
Speaker 1 (02:07):
When you have an establishment like that that's been around
for years and people hearing this, some people are smiling, going, oh,
I remember, because it's gonna take you back to some
good times. In some cases some bad times, yes, but
in most times, something happens in your life that you
just can't hang out there all the time. So what
we want to do is this morning reminisce of some
places of old. If you've been in Central Florida for
(02:28):
a while, that used to be your hangout that are
not here anymore.
Speaker 3 (02:32):
The Time Lounge opened in the sixties and the sixties
yeah wow.
Speaker 1 (02:37):
And it's closing first one I can remember. And some
of you talk to your your moms if they're in
the late forties JJ whisper. Oh yeah, if your mother's
in late forties, say hey, mom, you used to party
with Johnny matgew back in the day ten dollars.
Speaker 4 (02:51):
Are you getting so many people that say that that.
Speaker 2 (02:54):
Was my first ever nightclub experience.
Speaker 1 (02:57):
JJ went whispers ten dollars all you can drink ten
dollars through the door.
Speaker 2 (03:02):
Hey no more, it was eighteen enough. I just couldn't drink,
couldn't drink.
Speaker 3 (03:06):
I used to see Johnny Magic up on stage hosting
them XCEL Throwdown and.
Speaker 2 (03:11):
Then by one o'clock throw out a good time.
Speaker 3 (03:16):
I remember every they would do the hot body contest, Yes,
and the same guy and girl won every week like
it was their jock.
Speaker 2 (03:24):
I mean they were attracted.
Speaker 1 (03:25):
Oh yeah, back in the day, the uh the swim
suit competition was a circuit and you could really make
a living yeah out of doing those. Another one, This
one brings a t my eye. Spent many years up
in there Kleios, not the strip club, but the other
bar in downtown. That one brings a tin in my eye.
And this one hurts really hard. All of Church Street Entertainments, yes, yeah, yeah,
(03:48):
starting with Latitude chillers big but antigue, yep, antigue.
Speaker 2 (03:56):
Was good.
Speaker 5 (03:58):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (03:58):
I want something from back in the day, So JJ
whispers obviously the Lee Road version of it. Yes, back
when they tried to bring it back over in the
Kirk mccnroy. That was cool, but the Lee Road area
was the Ojes it was, so that was definitely one
of them for me. U Firestone Firestone when it was
the O G Firestone when it was open all night long,
(04:19):
so we used to get there at two am. Good
making me crazy. Yeah, we every big DJ came through Firestone.
It was the line was so far around the corner
One Eyed Jacks. It was my wife and I's spot
when we first started dating. Really we hung out One
Eye Jackson. It was it's where CANTEENA and everything is. Yeah, yeah, yeah,
(04:40):
it turned over. It turned into like what became like
that circus whatever. It was a carnival type bar.
Speaker 2 (04:47):
I don't even know what. It was, right on the
edge corner Orange. Yeah.
Speaker 3 (04:51):
So One Eyed Jacks is one of them that we
used to hang out all the time.
Speaker 6 (04:54):
Yeah, Ray well, I would have to say the flea
Market in Sanford and then fun World they over there.
Speaker 2 (05:06):
It was sad when they tried to put that little.
Speaker 4 (05:07):
Little used to pigeons.
Speaker 2 (05:12):
Got my first tattoo in the Gold Building.
Speaker 4 (05:15):
I got my belly all right.
Speaker 2 (05:17):
And the Gold Building, yes they see that?
Speaker 1 (05:19):
Did they finally building that? Because they tore it down
because they was supposed to build some.
Speaker 4 (05:23):
I think we're still like a land.
Speaker 1 (05:25):
They still land, y'all don't know what flee world.
Speaker 6 (05:29):
I mean like they had every everything tinted windows.
Speaker 2 (05:33):
We got movies is out next week.
Speaker 3 (05:35):
They got remember the big giant box of pennies.
Speaker 2 (05:38):
Guess the pennies and you.
Speaker 3 (05:39):
Can win, and nobody ever guessed the We used to
buy concert photos there because there was no Internet obviously,
so no social media. So there was a guy who
had a booth and he had a photography pass. He
would go to Orlando Arena and just shoot photos and
then he would sell you the little three by five
photos of of your favorite artists.
Speaker 1 (05:58):
That's awesome about big luggage. Big luggage there. Yeah, went
to London, it fell apart. I ended up coming back
to Orlando and duct taped it.
Speaker 6 (06:09):
I got my first puppy there, Ray Wins, And then
I would also say one wild I love it.
Speaker 4 (06:17):
Did get a little yeah, hold grungey at that.
Speaker 1 (06:20):

one point that Brian was here, you were there, I
was there, and every's like, this is the future morning shown,
Get up out of here.
Speaker 2 (07:04):
We want to find out for you.
Speaker 1 (07:05):
What are some places from the past right here in
Central Florida. They're gone, but they bring back very very
good memories. Post Town Lounge is leaving four oh seven
now one nine one o six seven eight seven seven
nine one nine one on six seven x el mobile

you up and you remember back in the day, this
was your place, This was your childhood. This when you

(07:27):
but it's gone four oh seven nine one nine one

Speaker 2 (07:56):
Nadine, good morning.
Speaker 7 (07:58):
Good morning, everybody day Thursday, girl, what's your spot used
to hang out there?
Speaker 5 (08:02):
In his known I mean you named so many places, Johnny,
so I used to go to Cairo all the time.
You had your three different levels, like what.
Speaker 7 (08:13):
You wanted to listen to reggae on the rooftop, the
middle was I don't even know what the middle was
because I didn't like spend much time or like downstairs
you could get you know, your e DC music or
like even at some depending on the night, you could
get like reggae and.
Speaker 5 (08:26):
All that kind of stuff. So yeah, that's where I went.
Speaker 1 (08:30):
That middle floor had a little private area in the back. Yes,
and it was like weird. It was weird. It was
weird my first promo.
Speaker 7 (08:37):
Game because I didn't ever really go there. I think
I like stepped in there because it wanted to have
like a country maybe vibe too. But then I was like, no,
I don't I don't know what's going on in here.
Speaker 3 (08:48):
My first promo game with EXL Cairo and Pete de
Graft with us on Friday night, Main Cairo.
Speaker 5 (08:57):
And so now I don't even know what it is now, like.
Speaker 1 (09:00):
Aleen, no Righteleen, Celeen, Hey Nadine, you're a Cairo girl.
Speaker 2 (09:06):
I'm I'm not gonna judge you.
Speaker 3 (09:10):
Before I met my wife, she got thrown out of
Cairo because she got drunk on her twenty first birthday.
Speaker 2 (09:15):
Had to carry her out.
Speaker 5 (09:16):
Girl too, was right there with.
Speaker 2 (09:18):
Her with the Carol.
Speaker 3 (09:20):
Yeah, they had to carry before I knew her, like
three years before.
Speaker 2 (09:24):
You gotta be really drunk to be thrown out of
Cairo to carry out.
Speaker 7 (09:28):
Yeah, I mean that line to get in always crazy
all the time, all the time.
Speaker 1 (09:34):
You know, they slow rolled it so it looked like
that there was a lot of people inside, because you
get inside, you're.
Speaker 2 (09:38):
Like, damn, yeah, ain't anybody anyway?
Speaker 5 (09:41):
Yeah, it was so big downstairs.
Speaker 1 (09:43):
Oh yeah, oh yeah. But I used to do a
radio on the rooftop. That was my favorite. All right,
thank you, thank.
Speaker 5 (09:49):
You, they dan, Yes, have a great day.
Speaker 2 (09:50):
Guy you too.
Speaker 1 (09:51):
She took us back boy from Orlando. Sign your good morning.
Speaker 2 (09:56):
Good morning everybody? How are you good? Good? What was
your spot? There's no longer here.
Speaker 8 (10:02):
In eighty nine, when I moved here from New York,
there was I don't know what they call them all now,
they've named it so many times, but it used to
be called Opfield, a square mall that.
Speaker 2 (10:12):
Used to be a spot. That used to be the spot.
Speaker 8 (10:15):
Yes, they had they had the two movie theaters, movie theater,
a movie theater, and then they had that little.
Speaker 2 (10:22):
What looked like fun spot but a smaller.
Speaker 5 (10:24):
Version sitting at the side, and.
Speaker 2 (10:27):
That's where everybody went on the weekend. That was Osciola
Square Mall. Man. All right, ray takers there what they
say about?
Speaker 1 (10:36):
Right?
Speaker 6 (10:37):
So we've got so many The Dixie Crossroads off International Drive.
Speaker 3 (10:42):
Okay, that was they made that at the Festival Bay Mall.
Speaker 2 (10:45):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, the O G Yeah, the O G
One is over in Titus.
Speaker 4 (10:50):
Yea, you have a nice day cafe.
Speaker 2 (10:52):
Oh yeah, that's where you had those fish bowls.
Speaker 3 (10:56):
Everything was everything was neon and I played disco movie
like set.
Speaker 2 (11:00):
Yeah, it was a discol club.
Speaker 6 (11:01):
Pleasure Island, Quin Season, Boardwalk, Boardwalk and base. The legendary
mister Michael Piner and his family.
Speaker 2 (11:14):
Pincher, that's the guy that owned. Yeah, that's who owns
post Time and unfortunately.
Speaker 4 (11:19):
Okay, so that's why they're mentioning him.
Speaker 6 (11:20):
But yeah, there's a lot of home on social media.
Speaker 3 (11:24):
There's a ton on the XL mobile power by Attorney
Dan Newland in the wreck Need to Check called Tourney.
Dan Newland so on said one thousand percent PRS Mexican
Restaurant in winter Park by the rail.
Speaker 2 (11:35):
Train shots.
Speaker 3 (11:36):
The train would go by a bunch of Roxy and
the fights at Roxy.
Speaker 2 (11:41):
Monday night, Young from Orlando. He called in and said Roxy.
Speaker 1 (11:44):
Also zooma Beach, zooma b back in the day, Hey,
zoom a Beach stayed open two years longer than this show.
Speaker 3 (11:51):
They got real bad. Throw all the napkins into the air,
and if you went about stage with a skirt on.
They take aaron women did that thongs? All lie sta stop.
Speaker 7 (12:03):
That.
Speaker 2 (12:03):
Don't do that?
Speaker 1 (12:05):
All right, if you're a fan of Post Town Lounge,
you have until November tewond to go buy and send
them some love. I don't know if you know that's illegal.
But Chris Brown, it's eight thirty nine. Ray, what's the
current temp?
Speaker 2 (12:16):
Mayam?
Speaker 4 (12:16):
Currently seventy six.
Speaker 1 (12:18):
Seventy six, eighty four is a high, mostly sunny and
a sixty percent chance of rain. Got four tickets to
the exclusive screening of Life of Showgirl. But you gotta
hit his interesant stat this is gonna be funny and
it's gonna make you feel old as dirt.
Speaker 2 (12:31):
What happened to me?
Speaker 3 (12:32):
So they did this survey and they asked a thousand kids,
So between seven and sixteen, they asked what age someone
officially becomes old? Okay, uh so, the consensus was forty nine.
That's to a kid, to a kid, when you're forty
nine year old? Now, fifteen percent said thirty thirty. And
then they asked of the activities that these old people love,
(12:52):
and according to these kids, the top three activities talking
about the good old days. I do that gardening, I
do that, and drinking tea.
Speaker 2 (13:01):
Wown drink tea. But I got two out of the three.
Speaker 4 (13:04):
Why it's funny.
Speaker 1 (13:06):
So what we want to do right now is we
want to talk to kids between the ages of seven
and sixteen, and we're just going to ask them a
simple couple simple questions about what they think is old
and what do they think old people do? And then
out of that we'll just have to pick a winner
who's going to go to the four tickets see the
Life of Showgirls. So if you are between the ages
(13:27):
of seven and sixteen and can talk on the radio. Now, parents,
a lot of you want your kid to talk on
the radio, but that's you on the back prompting them.
They have to be able to hold a conversation with
us and I all have to do is just speak
their mind with very simple questions on what they think
is old and what do old people like to do?
Speaker 2 (13:43):
All right?
Speaker 1 (13:44):
Four O seven nine one nine one on six seven
eight seven seven nine one nine one on six seven.
Speaker 2 (13:49):
It's the only way to win.
Speaker 1 (13:50):
If you are a child between the age of seven
and sixteen, we have some questions for you, and one
of you randomly are gonna get those tickets four O
seven now one nine one O six seven eight seven
seven nine one nine one on six seven.
Speaker 2 (14:03):
The only way to win.
Speaker 1 (14:04):
You got a call, so we were looking forward to
hear what you got to say next on Johnny's House,
Sonny seventy six right now, looking for a high of
eighty four. All right, we got these tickets the exclusive
screening of the Life of a Showgirl, that Taylor Swiss
movie is coming out, and we got a special showing
at the AMC Disney Springs. You know that's a good
place to watch movies. And all we want to do
is ask you kids about old people and what they
(14:25):
think is old, and then one of them will put
the wheel out again and see if we can find
a winner. Let's start off with twelve year old Vincent
from a Popka. Hey, hey, Vincent, how are you?
Speaker 8 (14:36):
I'm good?
Speaker 1 (14:37):
And what you're good? What school you're attending today? Okay, okay,
very good? All right, Vincent? How old is old to you?
When someone is old, how old do you think they are?
Speaker 9 (14:50):
Have you like thirty or forty?
Speaker 2 (14:52):
Thirty or forty is old?
Speaker 1 (14:54):
And what do you think thirty and four for thirty,
forty h and what do you think old people like
to do? Play bingo?
Speaker 2 (15:03):
Bingo? And what else do thirty and forty year olds
like to do? Play bingo and what else?
Speaker 6 (15:11):
Probably just watch movies.
Speaker 1 (15:15):
Or watch movies. So thirty and forty year olds like
to play bingo and watch movies. Probably black and white movies. Yeah.
Speaker 2 (15:24):
Really. What do old people like to eat?
Speaker 8 (15:31):
Probably?
Speaker 3 (15:35):
Yeah, sandwiches and pudding.
Speaker 1 (15:37):
Okay, I'm just curious by listening to the show. How
old do you think Ray is?
Speaker 4 (15:41):
Ray is a female?
Speaker 2 (15:42):
Is the female that's right right there?
Speaker 1 (15:43):
Howl?
Speaker 2 (15:44):
Do you think she is?
Speaker 7 (15:44):
Vincent twenty four?
Speaker 2 (15:47):
Twenty four? All right, all right, you hold on the second, Vincent,
You're pretty close.
Speaker 4 (15:52):
Okay, I'm happy with that.
Speaker 1 (15:55):
I got to ask mine here soon. I'm coming up
the wields to hit me from Orlando. Twelve year old Charlotte.
Speaker 9 (16:03):
Hey, Charlotte, Hi, it's Scarlet, by the way.
Speaker 2 (16:07):
Okay, there you go, Scarlet, right, okay, yeah, all right, Scarlet?
What is it? What is old to you? Scarlet? What
age is old about?
Speaker 9 (16:16):
Forty two?
Speaker 2 (16:16):
Forty two is old? And what do old people like
to do?
Speaker 9 (16:21):
Try to like be cool in front of like teenagers
and stuff?
Speaker 2 (16:26):
Oh, try to be cool. I got you.
Speaker 4 (16:27):
It's like the daily Mission.
Speaker 9 (16:30):
It's like what my mom does.
Speaker 2 (16:31):
Yes, And how old is your mom? Scarlet?
Speaker 9 (16:36):
She's like forty four?
Speaker 1 (16:39):
And that's real old to you, isn't it. It's not
that bad, not that bad, okay.
Speaker 9 (16:44):
And yeah it's older.
Speaker 2 (16:46):
Yeah, it's on the older side.
Speaker 1 (16:48):
And what do old people like to eat?
Speaker 9 (16:52):
Well, my parents eat food that I eat.
Speaker 1 (16:55):
Yeah, they don't eat anything like you know, soft foods
and stuff like that.
Speaker 9 (17:00):
Oh, my grandparents eat like, uh, like a lot of chicken,
and they like to go out.
Speaker 2 (17:07):
And I don't know how old are your grandparents?
Speaker 9 (17:11):
I like seventy?
Speaker 2 (17:12):
Oh?
Speaker 1 (17:12):
Okay, okay, all right, y'all got any okay? And by
listening to the show, how old do you think Brian is.
Speaker 9 (17:22):
Forty?
Speaker 3 (17:23):
Brian's forty okay, okay, all right, you hold on, I'm
not quite old compare by her standard. Yesty, okay, close,
here we go. I'm asking an eleven year old Lord

eleven years old? And what is old to you? What age?
Speaker 7 (17:44):
I'm going to be honest?
Speaker 2 (17:45):
Yeah? Fifty fifty?
Speaker 1 (17:48):
Okay, yeah, fifty, And what do you think old people
like to do? People that are fifty, what do you
like to do?
Speaker 5 (17:53):
Oh?
Speaker 9 (17:54):
It's only just like this, ship.
Speaker 6 (17:55):
Around and just like washed dishes, absolutely around, washed it
down and washed.
Speaker 5 (18:04):
Go ahead, like plant stuff. Yeah, road outside sometimes.
Speaker 2 (18:10):
And probably sleep because this makes them tired. Yeah old?
Speaker 5 (18:12):
Yeah?
Speaker 2 (18:13):
Did they like the old people like to stay indoors
or outdoors?
Speaker 7 (18:17):
Oh?
Speaker 9 (18:17):
Probably like half and half sometimes because my grandpa is
pretty spry.
Speaker 4 (18:23):
So cute.
Speaker 2 (18:26):
And what do old people wear? Abby?
Speaker 9 (18:29):
Probably like polos from like the nineteen.
Speaker 2 (18:32):
Hundred, holds from the nineteen hundreds.
Speaker 4 (18:34):
Yo, that's you, Johnny, polos.
Speaker 1 (18:37):

Speaker 3 (18:56):
You just passed the threshold on her by her standards.
Why anything else you want to say about old people, Abby?
Speaker 5 (19:03):
I think they're very nice.
Speaker 1 (19:05):
People are very I think so really. Okay, all right,
that's some good stuff. Anybody any more questions for Abby?
All right, okay, we're gonna take a wild card here.
I don't want to say what I'm normally saying, because
we got a kid on the phone. Okay, Hey, what's
your name?
Speaker 2 (19:24):
Mad Hey? Madison? And how old are you?
Speaker 8 (19:28):
