Speaker 1 (00:01):
Twenty four years ago parents had to have the same
conversation with kids. In fact, it's one of the things
that still haunts me to this day, all the loss,
all the death, senselessness of it all. And originally we
were scheduled to talk to Robin, who is someone that

(00:26):
you hear her voice quite often with our updates from
the Midwestern or the Midwesterner news each morning. But she
was there that day, September eleventh, talking to those people.
I can't imagine what that was like. And that's why

(00:46):
we're going to talk to her. But first, Robin, thank
you for being here. But I want to start with Charlie.
I know you've probably got some reaction in response.

Speaker 2 (00:57):
Yeah, you know, justin you know, your wife and your
daughters connection. Charlie Kirk was killed because he was an agent,
like Donald Trump, who was an agent of change. He
was a target as well, as we know with the

(01:18):
two assassination attempts, and for thirty years or so, people
on the evil left had been tacking and stacking our
universities with all these left wing activists, and think about it,
Charlie Kirk was there to change all that. Right, our

(01:40):
youth is so indoctrinated. And I think about nine to eleven,
like literally every day I was standing under the twin towers,
Thank God for a policeman. He was screaming, you know,
get the blank out, Get the blank out. But here's
the connection for me today, Like I am literally shaking
talking to you, Justin. But the people on nine to eleven,

(02:03):
those innocent souls, all of them New York, d C, Shanksville,
the people on the hijacked planes, they were killed because
of an agenda, and that agenda was radical Islam. And
Charlie Kirk was killed because of an agenda which is
left wing ideology in doctrination. And so these very dangerous

(02:25):
agendas are getting people killed. And anyone who's an agent
for radical change, which of course Charlie Kirk was and
Donald Trump is, remains a target. I don't know, Justin.
I don't know where we go from here. Only God
knows where we go from here. I have tried to

(02:49):
make my life purposeful. So many of my friends, boys
I went to high school with in New Jersey, other
friends are either dead, sick dying from the nine to
eleven toxins PTSKI, people committing suicide from that day because
they're so overwhelmed. I purposely try to pay forward. I

(03:14):
am a volunteer coordinator for Tunnel to Towers out of
New York City, helping to get mortgages of the fallen
paid off while I'm still here and I'm alive. Do
I have medical issues, Yeah, I do, but I don't
let anything get in my way of trying to pay
it forward. Justin We're in real trouble as a country, you.

Speaker 1 (03:37):
Know, Robin. I think about where we go from here.
Is it a turning point or is it the tipping point?
And yesterday I caution people on this, They said, please
stay calm, Cooler heads must prevail here. I believe there
are forces, whether they're foreign, domestic, or on a whole
other plane or level. Evil is evil. We wrestle not

(03:58):
against flesh and blood, the Bible tells us. But I
think there were people that want to tear us apart
as a nation. So we have a moment here, and
I know, as you reported on September eleventh, you're equally
familiar with September twelfth, and it was a moment that
I remember. Just I wish we could live in that
moment where we were all.

Speaker 2 (04:16):
United you know, maybe in some way this becomes another
September twelfth. Maybe this is a moment where we're no
longer Democrats and Republicans and black and white and all,
you know, tall and short and fat and thin. Maybe

(04:36):
we all become one country again, because that was the
feeling I remember, not having, you know, a phone and
working off pay phones and trying to you know, be
nice to people and convince them. Hey, I'm with the
Associated Press, you know, I'm Rob postling with at radio,
and I've got to get this story out there. And people,

(05:00):
we're kind and in shock, and I don't know, I
think that this Charlie Kirk thing. A lot of Democrats
I know are equally upset. I'll tell you the one
thing we need to do, justin is we need to
fire all of these left wing book idiots in the
mainstream media that includes radio, TV, newspapers putting out agendas

(05:24):
like we're living in a communist Russian country or any
communist country Venezuela. And the propaganda that's out there has
been brainwashing our use. And so this shooter is going
to turn out to be someone who was very young
and very disturbed in the mind, just like the young

(05:46):
shooter that we know nothing about from the attempt in
Pennsylvania on the life of doctor Trump. But I also
I want, I need to say this. I don't think
Charlie Kirk realized what a force. He realized he was
a force, but he didn't realize what an agent of
change he was because he was really turning the table,

(06:09):
really changing the conversation at left wing institutions and getting
these kids to start thinking again. And we need to
start telling the story of nine to eleven again and
showing the video of people whose best option. You and
I justin as friends, our best option, because there's a
fire behind us, raging at five hundred degrees on the

(06:31):
one hundred and first floor of the World Trade Center,
our best option is to hold hands, say a prayer,
and jump a thousand feet to our deaths. And that's
the nugget of the story. The level of evil of
radical Islam that wanted to kill us and take down
the World Trade Center that, you know, the most iconic

(06:52):
symbol in America, with fifty thousand people that work there
every day. There's no other symbol you can compare it
to anywhere. American might, American strength and their goal was
to take it and us down, and whoever shot Charlie
Kirk also wants to take us down. And the American people,

(07:14):
like those on flight ninety three, We're going to fight back, Justin.
We're going to fight back.

Speaker 1 (07:21):
Robin Poffman, thank you for taking the time thing, for
your putting through the years and your continued work here
with the Midwesterner. She's written the book. Folks, check out
the check out the book. Where can they find it,
because obviously it's one that will be something that you'll
want to help pass down to your kids, your grandkids,

(07:43):
to tell you the truth and what it was like
covering it that day.

Speaker 2 (07:47):
Yeah, it's called Covering Fantastrophe Justin. It's a charity project.
I didn't make any money off of it or the
other people that put it together. That they can get
it on Amazon dot com. Justin. Thank you and God
bless you for the work of educating your listeners and
your audience every day. We need more people like you
and folks to tell the story and to tell truth.

(08:09):
Is without telling the truth, we're nowhere in this country.

Speaker 1 (08:13):
Thank you, Robin, God bless More calls coming up.
