Speaker 1 (00:00):
Not a full line with us right now to talk
about this when and the one big beautiful bill in
so many other things is Mike Rogers, former congressman here
in Michigan running for Senate, might appreciate you taking the
time to be here with us.

Speaker 2 (00:09):
Today justin always good to be on. I hope you
and your family enjoyed a great Independence Day celebration this
last weekend.

Speaker 1 (00:17):
It's fantastic, Thank you so much, and one that I
felt like, probably more patriotic than ever before.

Speaker 2 (00:24):
Yeah, we did too. It was great. We had our
my nieces all came over, We had all the kids
splashing around in the in the lake. It was it
was great.

Speaker 1 (00:33):
Nothing better. Hey, this is a big story. We've been
talking about this for a while. You've been on the
forefront watching this, especially a story about Goshen here in
uh in West Michigan. But what do you make about
this latest big move from the Trump administration.

Speaker 2 (00:51):
We doue uh. You know, for those of us who
have been you know, bringing this bell on China for
a long time, they are strategically interjecting themselves into farmland
and strategic areas and other property by the way that's
close to sensitive installations around the country. And as somebody said,

(01:12):
well you can't. They can't. It's not like they can
take it with them, no, but they can interrupt. Imagine
if they have thousands and thousands and thousands of acres
of production land and they decide, you know, overnight, that
they're not going to allow food to be produced there.
That's going to take us a while to get that
worked out. And that's thousands and thousands of acres of
food that isn't getting produced in the United States. So

(01:34):
I do think that we need to restrict those countries
who do not wish America well. And you know, at
the end of the day, we need to understand China
is not our friend. They are not our ally and
they are here and probably not for great purposes that
they're buying this land.

Speaker 1 (01:53):
Mike Roger's with this right now. A lot of folks
very happy to see that being taken. Seriously, got to
ask a question. I knew you'd want to weigh on
this too. We got the really good news we got
to talk about with the big beautiful Bill as well,
but yet we just had a breaking news yesterday. Both
looks like Comy and Brennan, former head to the FBI
and CIA under investigation for their roles and what they're

(02:16):
calling the twenty sixteen Russia probe and the hoax here
of Russia, Russia, Russia. And look, I've just been talking
about this. I know you were involved obviously as somebody
in the FBI. There are so many good people inside
both of these agencies that have had enough watching these
things be politicized and weaponized and are glad to see

(02:37):
this happen. Finally things are being taken. I think a
closer look at this, whether or not they lied to
Congress and maybe what their roles were knowingly trying to
disrupt that election, and further on.

Speaker 2 (02:50):
Oh absolutely, I mean when you start looking at the
glaring mistakes that were made, and what was so disingenuous
about this in the beginning is people like Brennan and
people like Comy who were saying, well, you know, we
have access to classified information that you can't know, so
basically you need to trust us that this is exactly

(03:11):
what's happening. Then you come to find out, guess what,
none of it wasn't happening the way they were saying
is happening. And they were very, very aggressive, so if
John Radcliff, who's the current CIA director, refers material to
the Department of Justice for prosecution, I can tell you
they have content there that is going to get these
folks in trouble, that they were purposely misleading information to

(03:36):
go after President Trump for political purpose. I mean that
deserves investigation. And again, I think most, if not all,
of the politicization that rained in on the FBI came
through Comy. I just it started, then it seemed like
it got worse, and then I just don't think Director
Ray had the MAXI to get it fixed up.

Speaker 1 (03:59):
Well. Johnna Is right now is former Congressman, former FPI
on Mike Rodgers and on the campaign trail for Senate
as we speak. You know, we just had a massive
win this week, and we've we've had a several weeks
of when stacking up. But with the way the news,
it's just like a flood these days. It's like drinking

(04:20):
from the fires. I always say, but it's hard to
keep up with it. All Folks have been asking about
the one Big, Beautiful Bill, and I think it really
underscores the importance getting this bill through and passed, of
making sure that President Trump has allies there at the
Capitol that can help get his agenda passed and through
and a speaker. Johnson just released this yesterday, But this

(04:42):
is a list of executive orders cut afied in the
One Big, Beautiful Bill, and it is everything from borders
to taxes and all kinds of issues that I know
folks have wanted to see take place.

Speaker 3 (04:56):
I got it on the screen now so people can
take a look at this.

Speaker 1 (05:00):
But I know you were happy to see this come
through a lot of the big wins, but you know,
it's just the beginning.

Speaker 2 (05:06):
Oh it is. It's just the beginning. And I tell
people who say, oh my gosh, it's spend too much. Yeah,
it did spend too much. But this is the first shot.
This is the down payment on getting everything realigned to
where I think Americans believe their government should be, which
is smaller and less intrusive. The investment that they made
in American business is huge. With accelerated depreciation, that's going

(05:30):
to be a boom to the economy. The fact that
they put money in secure to help secure the border
forever more, not just you know, temporarily for the last month.
The fact that they are reducing the cost of Medicare
by taking out, by the way, illegal immigrants, about one
point four million of them who are on medicaid that

(05:51):
we're paying for the end, you have able bodied Americans
who are fully capable of working, taking medicaid and not
doing anything. And what this bill said is, hey, you
just you know, we want to help you, but we
also you've got to help yourself, and you've got to
help your community. We need you to be out there
at least twenty hours a week doing something. All of

(06:11):
that is really positive, and it's it's really good, and
it is this first round and that's what again and
why yes, the last election, to me, May was probably
the most important in my lifetime because had we can
imagine what the world would look like under Biden two
point zero. Here, we want to be in real trouble.
So we've got all of this, but this is a

(06:33):
continuing effort. Took thirty years to get in this spot.
We've got to take, you know, this next round of
elections seriously so that we can continue to do the
kinds of things you saw in the bill, including, by
the way, stopping Democrats wish for the largest tax hike
in American history. That bill stopped that, and it took

(06:54):
care of work and people. No tax on tips and
no tax on overtime, no tax on socials, secure curity.
I mean, these are really important things that are going
to impact Michiganders right around their kitchen table. And I'm
pretty excited about all of those efforts.

Speaker 3 (07:10):
Yeah, still much to be done.

Speaker 1 (07:11):
I know folks want to see a lot of the
cutting the waist, fraud and abuse, and I know that's
coming in days down the road here.

Speaker 3 (07:17):
But again, just makes that point.

Speaker 1 (07:19):
If you thought twenty twenty four was serious, and it was,
twenty twenty six remains even more serious. To make sure
the president can continue to get the job done. He's
moving at record speed right now, but there's still lots
lots to be done. And I know, as Mike Rogers
running for Senate here, you plan to be a big
part of that.

Speaker 3 (07:39):
Rogers for Senate dot Com. Anywhere else people can stay
up to date, maybe reach.

Speaker 2 (07:43):
Out and get a hold of it, that's the right
place Rogers for Senate dot Com. I mean, we've got
co chairs and captains volunteering all over the state. We're
well past our original one hundred and twenty three co
chairs covering all eighty three counties, and so we get
on there. Let's get this thing done. If you believe

(08:05):
the last one is important. We took the beach. Now
we got to take some land here and that that's
what happens in twenty twenty six. So you can't let
the US House go otherwise it's going to be impeachment central.
They've already introduced bills and they just wanted to throw
every branch they can. They even took the President to
court the Democrats justin to say you couldn't. You couldn't.

(08:26):
Restructure the workforce. No permanent employment at the federal government.
I've never seen anything quite like it. The Democrats support that,
but they're not very worried about us losing UAW jobs.
This is that important. This next phase is equally as important.
We need you. Rogers for Senate dot Com Mike Rodgers.

Speaker 1 (08:44):
Always a pleasure, my friend. Thanks so much for taking
the time today.

Speaker 2 (08:47):
Hey, thanks justin great to hear your voice.

Speaker 1 (08:49):
Former Congressman, former Repei Mike Rodgers running for Senate here
in Michigan.

Speaker 3 (08:53):
Rogers for Senate dot Com
