Speaker 1 (00:00):
As I mentioned, our good friend Dave BONDI with the latest. Dave,
good morning, how are you hello.
Speaker 2 (00:05):
Good to see you, sir. Hopefully you can hear me
and see me.
Speaker 1 (00:07):
Okay, you look great, you sound great as normal. This
story has been just another very sad story in Michigan,
but also throughout the country as well. I know you've
been talking to people on the ground. You were actually
there yesterday.
Speaker 3 (00:22):
Yeah, I live about forty five minutes from the scene.
Got the call early yesterday morning, and I couldn't believe
what I was hearing. And then I turned on the
police scanner and it was utter chaos and pretty much
everything that we knows what you said right now. There
could be more victims today, possibly that are still in
the rubble according to investigators. But the exclusive information that
(00:44):
I had last night. The shooter that you mentioned, they
call they refer to him as Jake. His people who
know him, Jake Sandford. He had a interaction with a
man who's running for Burton, Michigan City council last week.
You know when people who are running for office, they
go door to door and they shake hands.
Speaker 2 (01:05):
Well, this guy did this last week, and.
Speaker 3 (01:07):
I interviewed him and he said that this person Sandford,
he just went off on the Mormon Church and he
just went off on wild tangents and just berating the church.
Speaker 2 (01:20):
So this man did talk to the FBI. So he says,
in his opinion, that is the motive.
Speaker 3 (01:25):
He said, it is not political, unlike what I'm hearing
on CNN or other networks. It was pure hate for
the church, Mormon Church.
Speaker 2 (01:34):
As a whole.
Speaker 1 (01:34):
I got a little bit of that clip if folks
want to hear it. This is from Dave Bondi's buddy
from X and you can follow him all over. We'll
tell you where coming up. But keeping it real with Dave.
Speaker 4 (01:43):
Bond Mormonism and he just made the position multiple times
that Mormons are the Antichrist, and in not so many
terms said that several times. He gave me his background,
but I just walked away from a person who had
some very sharp views about Mormons.
Speaker 1 (01:58):
It's interesting he's a candidate for office. There he's knocking
doors doing canvassing. He just happens to come on this
guy's door and he gets an earful It sounds.
Speaker 3 (02:09):
Like, yeah, he walked up and he's like, WHOA, what
did I encounter? And he actually tried getting away from
the guy. He did not feel threatened. He didn't think
there was any reason to contact authorities. He thought it
was just a very weird individual. Looking back, obviously, he
wishes he would have, but he had his daughter with
him when he was going door to door, and the
(02:30):
guy did not want.
Speaker 2 (02:31):
To talk about politics left or right.
Speaker 3 (02:34):
He only wanted to just go off on the church
and the candidate who I interviewed that clip right there,
he just wanted to get get away from that home.
Speaker 2 (02:43):
And then he didn't know.
Speaker 3 (02:45):
He didn't connect the dots until they released his Sandford's
mugshot on the news. And that's when he messaged me
because I had talked to this man years ago when
I was a reporter. So and I'm just hoping that
everyone can see this video only to know, you know,
I'm not saying it is the motive, but it's very
strong evidence that it could be. CNN about an hour
(03:06):
ago was still saying, we have no idea what the
motive is. Well, I wish they would look at that interview.
Speaker 1 (03:12):
So because I heard him say he did make some
sort of report about this because he was he was concerned.
He who did he talk.
Speaker 2 (03:21):
To He called the church Letter Day Saints.
Speaker 3 (03:25):
He has a friend in Utah and he called there
just to say, try to make sense of what this
guy was saying. So looking back, maybe he should probably
have called law enforcement. I'm not second guessing him. But
as you know, and I know, we come across wild people.
(03:45):
You know, a lot on my social media, I'm still
continuing to get threats. So I come across a lot
of people and I do contact law enforcement. But no,
he contacted someone from the church, not that church, the
church in Utah, the head of the lady thing.
Speaker 1 (04:00):
But it started to know what what is serious and
what is it? And it sounds like he did make
an attempt, So that's that's interest. What did he say
anymore about what the beef was. I know, he's kind
of a loose He kind of walked around that in
the actual clip, but it sounded like there was something
personal that had happened, or a personal experience he had
(04:22):
had that led him to be so critical.
Speaker 3 (04:25):
He said, apparently he was years and years ago dating
a woman who was better than Mormon church and something
had went sour.
Speaker 2 (04:34):
He said.
Speaker 3 (04:34):
The conversation was all over the place, and he tried
recounting it the best he could with me, but he said.
Speaker 2 (04:40):
It was all over the place.
Speaker 3 (04:42):
It had to do something he was dating, maybe a
woman in the church and he didn't like their beliefs
or something like that. That's kind of where he went
with it. But it's just weird. This may have happened,
he said, years and years ago, and then just yesterday
just just snapped it. And I'm not saying this is
the motive, but it's just it's very, very bizarre. And
obviously he believed this man, you know, is suffering from
(05:06):
mental illness.
Speaker 2 (05:07):
He's also an a rocky war veteran.
Speaker 3 (05:10):
But it gleaned a lot into this and after he
did the interview with me, he immediately talked to the FBI,
so he the FBI briefed him last night, and he
briefed the FBI on the conversation.
Speaker 1 (05:22):
Dave. I know there's there's more details that are probably
going to be coming out about this story, but you
just touched on one that I think it's important. There's
still the maybe folks missing. They're still looking for people,
is that right?
Speaker 3 (05:36):
Yeah, I'm hearing from law enforcement down there. There's there
they're reporting seven people missing, but it may not be
that many, because there may be a communication issue where
certain people had loved ones they couldn't find yesterday and
they haven't.
Speaker 2 (05:49):
Reported it to police yet.
Speaker 3 (05:51):
But there is the possibility that there are victims, maybe
still the bodies trapped in the fire. Because the building
just went up in flames. He poured gasoline, it ignited quickly.
So unfortunately, there's still may be people's loved ones trapped
in that building. That's not confirmed yet. I believe we're
hopefully gonna have a news conference today.
Speaker 1 (06:12):
If you have never followed Dave, he spent years in
local TV news and reported on stories all the time
until just recently a few years back, where he saw
things really change and he said he'd had enough, so
he went out on his own. And now Dave is
giving us great stories, information, and some of the stories
(06:34):
you won't hear anywhere else. That's why we wanted to
talk to him today because I guarrant you this is
not a story and not an angle report that you're
going to get on the nightly news or anywhere else
for that matters. Like you said, Dave seeing anything, we
still don't know what possibly the motive is, and yet
we have some information into that.
Speaker 2 (06:51):
Yeah, just play my interview.
Speaker 3 (06:54):
But as I dealt with yesterday, there were a lot
of media media I used to know. They won't talk
to me anymore. Even out at the scene yesterday, they
shunned me. Even they wouldn't even talk to me.
Speaker 1 (07:05):
Wow, that is incredible, David. Folks want to follow you.
Where's the best place because I know you're all over.
Speaker 3 (07:13):
Yeah everywhere x Twitter. People still call it just Dave Bondy,
Dave bo.
Speaker 2 (07:18):

Speaker 3 (07:22):
