Speaker 1 (00:00):
It's West Michigan Live with Justin Barklay on Wood Radio.

Speaker 2 (00:05):
Well, are you ready for the weekend? The news?

Speaker 3 (00:09):
The news could use a break, and then it's been
working overtime, especially in the last gosh, the last twenty
four hours. You're looking at these stories last night. Oh,
these are gonna be the biggest stories. No, no, wait,
there's more getting a little bit of a jump start.
We're gonna try and pack it all into one hour.
Makes sense of the headlines and the kid maybe some

(00:32):
of the stories that you won't hear anywhere else.

Speaker 2 (00:36):
That's all coming up this morning.

Speaker 3 (00:37):
So lockhand, Big Indictments, daj Suing Michigan of.

Speaker 1 (00:43):
More weather and traffic, his stories of the day. We
are talking about what matters most in West Michigan and beyond.

Speaker 3 (00:51):
This is the big three o't see speak three stories.

Speaker 2 (00:58):
Power My are good friends at Heartland Home Morgan.

Speaker 3 (01:00):
It's what you're gonna be talking about around the watercoil
that didn't cable no matter where you are, these stories,
as I mentioned, Power by Day of Gataway and the team.

Speaker 2 (01:10):
At hhmlending dot com.

Speaker 3 (01:11):
Whether you want to buy home equity, line of credit,
maybe you want to refine they can help you in
all of those situations.

Speaker 2 (01:18):
We've used them each and every time.

Speaker 3 (01:20):
Just I think we see thousands every time that we've
done anything with them. They're faster, the better. The Big
Bank and so many other folks agree. Who listened to
this program as well. Hhmlending dot com find out how
they can help you. Lotley's expected to surrender today. You've
been hearing all morning long, and I can't wait. I
hope they get some cameras. I don't know if we're

(01:41):
going to get.

Speaker 2 (01:42):
The purp walk that we all deserve.

Speaker 3 (01:46):
The former FBI director James call me indicted by a
grand jury and talked about this yesterday and particularly on
an after show us I said that, guys, I'm cautiously
optimistic here, but you know, they had hard time indicting
this lady that came to killed Trump from New York City.
They had the whole they had her dead, the rights,
and they just they couldn't get it, couldn't get a

(02:07):
grand jury to do it. Well, they got one in
Virginia to do the deed for Komy, and he'll have
to face charges now making a false statement to Congrege
and Congress and instruction of a congressional proceeding publicly proclaiming
his innocence in the in defiance we're hearing this morning.

(02:30):
You know, you know he had a daughter working for
the DOJ son I think she quit while back. The
son in law working at the DOJ stepped down yesterday.

Speaker 2 (02:40):
And that interesting.

Speaker 3 (02:41):
Speaking of the DOJ, they are suing Michigan over hiding
voter data. We're supposed to see transparency in this process, right, Well,
not with Jocelyn Benson's Secretary of State office.

Speaker 2 (02:56):
That's that's the gig.

Speaker 3 (02:57):
Now, if you read this headline anywhere else, you might
see things like private voter data.

Speaker 2 (03:02):
And things like that nature.

Speaker 3 (03:03):
Well, yeah, all the data is private, but the government
can see and do anything they want with it because
that's how they check to make sure it is what
it is and you are who you are. That's what
we're looking for checks and balances here. The US Department
of Justice filing that suit against Michigan and on five
other states as well, for allegedly refusing to provide full

(03:25):
statewide voter registration lists, including sensitive personal data like driver's
license soial security number fragments. And that's again, that's identifying data.
That's how they make sure you're not you know, some
fake phony blooney voter put in there that's it's not real,

(03:46):
or debt or somebody from Mexico or Guatemala or who
who those where.

Speaker 2 (03:52):
That's that's what this is all about.

Speaker 4 (03:54):
Fact.

Speaker 2 (03:55):
Let's get a look into this situation.

Speaker 3 (03:57):
And what's really going on with the with the election
integrity issues. Monica you Tuma running as a Republican for
the Secretary of State office. We'll talk to her coming
up here in just a moment.

Speaker 2 (04:11):
They have a deal. Whitmer Hall brinks All announced.

Speaker 3 (04:14):
A framework for a budget deal late Thursday, narrowly averting
a state government shutdown a government including fully or the
agreement rather fully funding the school aid budget and about
one point eight billion I think is what I heard
for road repairs. Detail is still kind of being hashed out.

Speaker 2 (04:33):
But the news is they've got a deal.

Speaker 3 (04:35):
We talked to it a hall about that in on
Macina Island. I posted that over on our locals paid paint.
If you want to hear it, I may be able to.

Speaker 2 (04:41):
Get to some of that.

Speaker 3 (04:44):
Four the day is up. I'd love to hear from
you on a free for all Friday. Jump in right
now and rant rave, ask a question, comment, concern, complaint,
take a number, Yeah, we'll get to you. Also use
that talk back feature. We're on the iHeartRadio app courtesy
of MKD Funeral.

Speaker 1 (05:02):
Homes called Justin Now at six one six seven seven
four twenty four twenty four at six one six seven
seven four twenty four to twenty four West Michigan Live
with Justin Barclay on News Radio Wood thirteen hundred and
one oh six nine f M.

Speaker 3 (05:18):
I've got another story. Like I told you, I've got
story after story. It's a stack today and another big
one that I think ought to have. I mean, this
one ought to have its own show. But these are
these are courtesy of testimony Gevin in front of Congress.
This story the Blaze has this morning. The FBI had

(05:39):
two hundred and seventy four plain clothes agents, two hundred
and seventy four, and we we wondered if we knew
and a lot of this in factly for other numbers
at some point, but we we do from some of
the things that we heard two hundred and seventy four
out of that crowd on January sixth at the Capitol.
Did you hear that they had two one hundred and

(06:00):
seventy four playing clothes agents. Who knows, who knows what
they were all doing, who knows what they were all
tasked to do. Some of the folks found it very
strange when doors were held open for folks, and you know,
these people went on to become and dited, and of
course lots of them did jail time, locked away, they

(06:21):
threw away the key, and I just you know what
it's I'm glad we're seeing. We're beginning to see a
little bit more of a light.

Speaker 2 (06:29):
Shone on this all.

Speaker 3 (06:30):
For anyone who's saying, well, nothing will come of it,
nothing will happen. Kobe was indicted yesterday, so we don't know.
I also share your skepticism. Well I don't if it
is it skeptic. Well, it's a healthy skepticism. Let me
just put it that way. I share, I share your concern,
So I get it, like I I know what you're saying,

(06:52):
is I believe it when I see it kind of thing. Well, folks,
we have entered the find out portion of the era here,
that's where we are. He fooled around and found out
comy in hot water. I I don't know you don't
want the When the United States government brings a case
against you, you're you're pleading guilty or you're going to jail.

Speaker 2 (07:14):
Do you do it? This is this is not going
to end well.

Speaker 3 (07:16):
I'll tell you why we need it, as well as
this story about the FBI here, and of course the
investigation into Michigan hiding the voter data and and everything,
because if we don't do this now, it'll never get done.
And when the pendulum swings back around, and it will
at some point, none of these folks will have learned
their lesson. You've got to make sure that you draw

(07:41):
a line in the sand. You got to make sure
that we're clear on it all.

Speaker 1 (07:49):
So we will.

Speaker 3 (07:50):
We'll get a little more clear on all of it.
In fact, coming up this morning. If you want to
join the program, you can six one, six seven seven.
I try to squeeze in many calls as I can,
this one, like Jare Bear, one of our freedom fan
folks of VIPs on this one. I appreciate you calling
in man, welcome in.

Speaker 5 (08:07):
Thanks justin, Happy Friday, you too.

Speaker 6 (08:11):
Hey.

Speaker 5 (08:12):
I was thinking about how the left always plays language gymnastics.
They're always moving the goalposts, and I was thinking about
how can we help Christians that are on the left,
that have a heart for people that tend to get manitulated,
how can we help them kind of understand. And I've
come up with a new term for liberty. I'm calling
it civil socialism. So it's socialism, but because you know

(08:36):
what we learned from the nineteen hundreds with communism, how
it always turns into murder, It's like, let's just discard
the government and just have liberty to be socialists and
to be generous and to give from a free and
grateful heart. Anyway, civil socialism basically another word for liberty.

Speaker 3 (08:57):
I like the idea of the fuddle. What you're saying.
The words kind of confuse me a bit. But what
your point is, and this is this is the biggest part.
And thank you Jeff for the call. But the point
is is that all of the things that the government
is doing, I think he's making this case anyway, all
the things that government is doing, the church is supposed
to do.

Speaker 2 (09:16):
All right, that's the key.

Speaker 3 (09:20):
That means you and I we're supposed to And by
the way, charity isn't charity, it's theft.

Speaker 2 (09:25):
If we're forced.

Speaker 3 (09:26):
Into do it, and the government does a really inefficient.

Speaker 2 (09:29):
Job of doing it all.

Speaker 3 (09:30):
By the way, all right, quick break, don't go anywhere.
We are rocking and rolling back with you. Next on
a free for all Friday. Great call from Gerald City.
You can top it this morning. Back next on.

Speaker 3 (11:15):
As I mentioned are there are so much to cover
this morning, and uh story after your story, wanted to
go to the folks who probably know the most about
some of these stories. She's running for Secretary of State
here in Michigan, Monica. You tuma joining us right now.
I've been on the program before talking about other issues,
but you are this is a first time as a candidate.
Welcome in Monica. We appreciate it. So let me ask

(11:38):
you this. We've got a story here the DOJ is
suing six dates over They're saying private voter data well,
all data that's voter data is private. I mean it's
it's not really for the public. The very little is
for the public, let me put it that way, But
it's It doesn't mean it's not for the government to see.
And doesn't the federal government, as I understand, don't they
have a right to be able to oversee some of this.

Speaker 8 (12:02):
Yes, they absolutely have a right, and Josh Svenson is
not being honest with the public. She can easily hand
over voter data without annihilating any laws or any trivacy
rights to the voting system.

Speaker 3 (12:18):
I thought that was the case. By the way, we're
getting a little feedback from you here. Are you on
speakerphone by chance? Yes, if you can, that might be
helpful because I'm hearing me and you back and forth.
I just don't want you or the audience to get
confused here. But yeah, I thought that was the case.
And we've been told she's so transparent. In fact, that's

(12:41):
what she's running on as a gubernatorial candidate right now.

Speaker 2 (12:45):
This is just concerning.

Speaker 3 (12:46):
If if the federal government can't oversee this to make
sure there are some checks and balances here, who's going
to because it surely wouldn't be the second the attorney general,
excuse meate, the Democrat Attorney General, Dana Nessel.

Speaker 2 (13:03):
That shouldn't be happening.

Speaker 3 (13:04):
But you know, every now and then you have you
have some technical issues here and there. They just get
her back on the phone. The story here again we
talked about a top of the hour in the Big Three,
the US Department of Justice filing suit against Michigan along
with five other states, for allegedly refusing to provide full
statewide voter registration list, including data driver's license, social security

(13:28):
number frights.

Speaker 2 (13:29):
Not even the full.

Speaker 3 (13:30):
Numbers, but the ability to be able to identify these
individual make sure they're who they say they are. The
DOJ claims these are required under federal law, by the way,
so they're breaking the law on top of it. It's
not the first time for Michigan Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson,
so I may call it the most lawless. She's been
caught breaking the law over and over and over again.

(13:50):
Judge ruled in twenty twenty. Then she wasn't allowed to
do what she did when she instructed those those local
clerks not to spect absentee ballid signatures. I mean it's
it's an everyday thing. I guess it's rules for the
enough for me kind of thing. But the federal government
taking a very close look at this.

Speaker 2 (14:11):
Monica. We got you back on. I don't know if
that fixed the problem or not.

Speaker 8 (14:15):
Yeah, is that better?

Speaker 2 (14:18):
We still got a little bit of feedback. Are you
on speakerphone or I'm.

Speaker 8 (14:24):
Yeah, I'm not one phone now, but I.

Speaker 2 (14:26):
Still now that's better. Oh, I still have it better,
I still have it. I don't know why.

Speaker 3 (14:34):
You know what I'm gonna Oh, yeah, you got a
computer on the background, turn that off if you can. Okay,
all right, folks, I apologize. We'll get this work down.

Speaker 2 (14:45):
Monica. It's important to hear your voice on this story.

Speaker 8 (14:50):
Can you hear me better?

Speaker 9 (14:51):
Now?

Speaker 2 (14:51):
Much better? Thank you so much. All right, so I'll
let you take it away.

Speaker 8 (14:56):
Yeah, sorry, So where did you leave off? Just real quick,
justin so, so, why.

Speaker 3 (15:00):
The federal government they say the states are breaking the law,
particularly Michigan here. They've got a right to see and
supposed to be sent this information.

Speaker 8 (15:09):
So listen, they absolutely have the right to see them.
And the fact that they're playing nice and they're only
suing civilly and not criminally, she's very lucky, and she
should give them exactly what they're asking for. Now, she's
trying to tell voters that, oh, this is violating laws
and I have to breach their privacy.

Speaker 6 (15:27):
That's not true.

Speaker 8 (15:28):
They want to see the voter lists, and what they
want to see is they want to see names, they
want to see data birth, they want to see ballot
tracking numbers, and they want to see the ballot iv numbers,
and they want to see that those numbers match up
to the voter that they say that they belong to.
And they want to see that there's not duplicate voters,
dead voters, non citizen voters, all these ineligible voters. Because

(15:51):
we have eight point four million voters on our voter roles,
but we only have seven point nine million eligible voting
citizens of age in this state.

Speaker 4 (16:01):
So a big problem.

Speaker 8 (16:03):
So she's completely trying to deflect.

Speaker 3 (16:05):
Yeah, so that to me, I think that the clearest
way of looking at this is we need to make
sure that who these people are is exactly who they
say they are. There's no way to do that if
we don't have the data to be able to do it.
I think the federal government's got quite a case here.
But again, this is just another example sad as it

(16:25):
is of the state of our election integrity or lack thereof.

Speaker 2 (16:29):
Here in Michigan, isn't it.

Speaker 8 (16:31):
Yeah, that's exactly right. Lack thereof is exactly right. Our
voterals are a mess. She's completely She weaponized COVID when
we had COVID at the time, and you took advantage
of absentee ballots. She's not violating the laws, or excuse me,
she's not following the law. She's constantly violating, and she's
constantly trying to hide information. She won't even give our

(16:51):
state legislature access to training material. She's been subpoena for that.
She's been sued for violating the rights of poll challengers.
She's been sued relaxing signature verification. On balance, she's done
everything she possibly can to weaken election integrity. She's currently
trying to change administrative laws. She wants to go around
state legislature, go directly to JCARR and change rules that

(17:15):
way for the upcoming twenty sixth election. She's not done
a single thing to strengthen election in Tigary. She's done
everything she can to weak in it, and the fact
that she's the chief election officer of the state right
now and overseeing the elections while she's running as a
gubernatorial candidate. That's not okay.

Speaker 3 (17:33):
I think that's maybe one of the most disturbing and
it reminds me of Katie Hobbson in Arizona.

Speaker 2 (17:39):
That she would go ahead with.

Speaker 3 (17:42):
The track record that she has, that she would go
ahead and oversee her own election is disturbing. What are
we going to do to get things back on track?
Monica Utuma, her candidate for Michigan Secretary of State.

Speaker 8 (17:53):
As a Republican, we listen, Michigan families deserve fair elections,
that and services that actually work right. What we need
to do first and foremost is we need to work
really hard for this upcoming election. But between now and then,
we need to hold her accountable for every single thing
that she's doing. She needs to know that there are

(18:13):
eyes on her and that we are watching her. And
then is twenty six when she's gone and we replaced
her with a Republican candidate, hopefully me. We can get
in there. We can clean up those voter rules, we
can secure our reps and see ballots. We can make
sure our poll challengers and our campaign observers rights are
not being violated. They have the rights to over their
right to oversee elections so that we have transparency and

(18:34):
accountability in our elections. So there's a lot of things
that we can be doing, but most importantly, we need
to make sure that we have a Secretary of State
in office that is going to follow the law and
give instructions to our election officials, including clerks, that is
following the law, because she's not doing that right now.

Speaker 3 (18:53):
Monica Yutuma running for Secretary of State here in Michigan
as a Republican. Hey, a big straw poll results came
in from Mackinaw Island and them IGOP Leadership conference this weekend. Congratulations,
you top in that poll there. What are you hearing
from folks after you've made this announcement, Well, thank you.

Speaker 8 (19:12):
First and foremost, I'm hearing that folks are really excited
to have me as a candidate. I think for a
long time there's been this notion that, you know, the
Republican nominee or any nominee needs to have Clark experience,
and you know, we're learning that's just that's not the case,
right because I've been involved in a lot of you know, different,
a wide array of issues with election integrity. I run
my own business. I've started a five to one C

(19:34):
three of five to one C four from scratch, so
I've managed budgets, multiple budgets at one time. I manage people,
So I think or not, I think I'm being told
these delegates are really excited to have somebody with my
business leadership experience. But they're really excited to have somebody
with a back zone that they can trust, that they
know doesn't just have the experience to get in there
and fix things, but to get in there and do

(19:57):
what they say they're going to do. Because when I
in there, I'm going to fix what needs to be fixed,
but not just that. Anybody, anybody that I catch trying
to weaken our election integrity in any form is going
to be held accountable. Monica, you too may get Internet's
what I'm gonna do.

Speaker 2 (20:15):
Where can folks find out more info about you online?

Speaker 8 (20:18):
Well, they can go to Monica for Michigan dot com.
That's my website. I'm all over social media, Monica Utuma
Official and they also have a Team Monica page as well,
where I post a ton and provide as much information
that I can on everyday issues and everything that's going
on to election integrity.

Speaker 2 (20:33):
Monica, thank you for taking the time. Definitely have to
have you back in the future. Appreciate you.

Speaker 8 (20:37):
Thanks so much for having me justin.

Speaker 2 (20:39):
You got it. God blessed.

Speaker 3 (20:40):
More coming up, folks, it's a free for all Friday.
We'll let you jump in on the program and the
festivities as well. Kyle Olsen from the Midwestern to Midwestern
or dot News joining us after this bodily hour news
coming up next Net and Yahoo is at the un today.
Maybe we'll get some clips to that and what he's said.
Coming up, Free for all Friday. Jumping on the phone
lines with you coming up. We got a few folks

(21:01):
on the line, and if a line does become available,
which it just did, you can jump.

Speaker 2 (21:05):
But at seven seven four, twenty four, twenty four, our good.

Speaker 3 (21:10):
Friend Kryl Olsen back fresh back from Macinac Island and
the GOP Leadership Conference.

Speaker 2 (21:15):
Had a great time there and uh, welcome in. I
appreciate it.

Speaker 9 (21:20):
Good morning, Thanks for having me so.

Speaker 3 (21:22):
I don't know may we talked about There's so many
things to talk about, but straw poll coming up here
in a little bit how that played out, which you
noticed on mcinall maybe some of those issues. But let's start.
I gotta start topital list today and that's Comey indicted.
Holy smokes. The find out era is in full effect.

Speaker 9 (21:42):
Yeah, it's it's I wouldn't say it's surprising. There's been
a lot of I think signals that this this is
the direction that the DJ is going. But you know,
I think most people would say they would look at
they would look at what happened during the Biden era
and how Trump was prosecuted. You know, so many things
happened to his aides and his attorneys that this this

(22:06):
is not the way America operates, and we expect the DJ,
the FBI to be above board and and and what
we have seen really since all of the Trump you know,
indictments and everything happened, was a massive erosion in confidence
in the in the FBI and the DJ. And so

(22:29):
I think the Trump administration, then the current DJ is
saying we're not going to let the FBI behave this way.
And so we're now seeing, you know, we're seeing that fallout.

Speaker 3 (22:40):
Yeah, and anybody that says or tries to convince you
that there's any sort of issue here when it comes
to well, let's just be honest, going after your political
enemies things like that. Okay, they went after Trump, they
rated Marlocle, they did all these different things. Look at

(23:00):
what they tried to do. You're trying to tell me
that they were above the board. That's just not the case.
The DOJ, speaking of which is also suing Michigan and
a few other states, handful of others over voter data.

Speaker 2 (23:14):
And this is data.

Speaker 3 (23:15):
As we just talked to Monica Youtuma, the winner of
the straw poll on mackinaw with the Midwesterner and the
SOS candidate, their Secretary of State here in Michigan.

Speaker 2 (23:26):
About this story. It's a big one, it really is.

Speaker 3 (23:31):
It shows how I think important it is to make
sure look as simple as this, when you were in school,
somebody just said to me, the math ain't math, And well,
whenhen you were in school, didn't the teacher say you
got to show me your math in math class?

Speaker 2 (23:43):
How did you get here?

Speaker 3 (23:44):
That's sort of what we're asking for is full transparency
and accountability. You say, we have x amount of voters
and X amount of votes came in this election, let's
find out who they were. We need to know exactly
how we got here.

Speaker 9 (23:57):
Right, And there's a process for removing voters. Is that
being followed. You would think that it's interesting if you
can trast Michigan with Ohio. The Ohio Secretary of State
Frank LeRose said, come in see whatever you want. We
will share whatever we whatever you want to see. We
are fully transparent. And yet Joscelyn Benson is not operating

(24:19):
like that. And these are these are public records. The
public deserves to know who's registered to vote, Are illegal
aliens voting? Are people who are non citizens voting? We
deserve to have those answers. And and so far, Joscelyn
Benson has been very cagy. She's only provided, she's only
released information to the public that I think you know

(24:42):
serves her purposes. And the Department of Justice Attorney Assistant
Attorney General Harmey Dillon in particular, it's saying that's not
good enough. And so they are they're taking Michigan and
several other states to court to provide some transparencies so
citizens can rest assured that only citizens are voting.

Speaker 3 (25:05):
Kyle Olson from the Midwest and or the Midwesterner news
stories don't stop today.

Speaker 2 (25:09):
We got another one here.

Speaker 3 (25:11):
Whitmer Hall brings all and outs of framework for a
budget deal late Thursday night. Looks like they're going to
have money for the schools again, as they mentioned, but
also money for road repairs. What do you know about
what's in it and what does it mean?

Speaker 9 (25:26):
Well, it's interesting. We're gonna have a story today. Matt Hall,
the Speaker of the House, he put together a roads
plan that would dedicate three point one billion dollars for roads.
It was county roads, local roads, state roads, because what
Whitmer has been doing is she has just been focusing

(25:47):
on state roads and sort of leaving local communities languishing.
And those are the roads that most of us drive
on every day. And so he put together a plan
three point one billion dollars. It didn't raise taxes, it
took money away from corporate welfare and you know, and
move some other things around. And what was interesting to
me is that here you had the Republican Speaker of

(26:08):
the House saying, let's put three point one billion dollars
towards roads. But then you had the governor who initially
campaigned on fixing the damn roads. They agreed to one
point five billion dollars, so what is what exactly is
the priority. But then he said at his press conference
yesterday that the Sore Fund, which is the corporate welfare fund,

(26:31):
that's going away. So we're gonna have to wait and see.
They haven't actually formally passed anything yet.

Speaker 6 (26:37):
They have an.

Speaker 9 (26:37):
Agreement, so we're gonna have to wait and see what
actually what the details are, but it seems like it's
a step in the positive, in the right direction. There
is one tax increase they voted on it yesterday. It's
it's a marijuana increase in marijuana tax, and that arguably
is going to go and you know, help fund the

(26:58):
roads and some other things. Otherwise, it looks like they're
cutting spending. They increased that one tax, and Matt Hall
and the House Republicans are getting sort of back to
basics when it comes to government spending.

Speaker 3 (27:12):
Kyle Olson with the Midwestern the Midwestern or done this
one other story? I think it's important to mention today.
And this's like we got a dump of like massive stories.
Any other day, I think any one of these stories
would probably be top of you top of your list.

Speaker 2 (27:25):
But here's here's this one.

Speaker 3 (27:26):
We've known it for a while now, but the FBI
finally admitting, at least part of a congressional testimony, they
had two hundred and seventy four plane clothes agents embedded
in the crowds at the Capitol on January sixth.

Speaker 2 (27:41):
According to a congressional.

Speaker 9 (27:42):
Source, it's it's very disturbing to see and it certainly
lends credibility to the idea that January sixth, and specifically
what happened at the Capitol was a setup. There's one
video it's making the again of a guy breaking a window.

(28:03):
And when I was when I was a house page
way back when I stood right in that window well
and watched the fireworks on July fourth, so I immediately
recognized that window and where it was. And this video
shows the guy breaking the window and one of the
Trump supporters calls him out for breaking this window, and

(28:25):
he just he you know, runs And I watched that
video back when it first came out, and I thought
that is not that is something is going.

Speaker 2 (28:33):
On there and looks like he's got a radio, he's
got an ear piece, and this guy looks like a professional.

Speaker 9 (28:42):
Correct. So there's a lot of there's a lot of
answers that still need to be obtained, and so it
looks like those some of those questions are finally being answered.

Speaker 3 (28:55):
Kyle Olson, the Midwestern or the Midwestern or dot News
don't chest, Yeah, I'll book mark, definitely do that, but
put in your email and that way you can get
all of the updates as they come out with them
on the daily basis, and so many more. Kyle, Like
I said, this a find out era, and we're finding
out more and more news every single day. The stories

(29:18):
just don't stop. We appreciate all you do and of
course your help quickly before we get out of here.
You polls for mcnaugh Island. We got lots of those
online and lots of interviews and things as well. From
a chance to talk with folks there, anything stand out
to you. It was an really interesting weekend.

Speaker 9 (29:37):
I think probably the governor's race. Eric Nesbit, the Senate
Republican leader one. In the governor's race. Tom Leonard came
in second, Mike Cox came in third, John James came
in fourth. We'll be releasing I'm doing a series of
dinery interviews with the candidates at Marlenez in Holland and

(30:00):
I filmed one with Eric Desbit this week. We'll be
releasing that problem maybe Saturday, probably Monday, and where we
just get to know the candidates. And so I thought
that worked out perfectly that he won the shrup pole
and then he's the first one that we're talking to.

Speaker 3 (30:16):
Very interesting. Always a pleasure, Kyle. Appreciate you taking the
time to be here with us today, and we'll have
more over the weekend. I'm sure the news never stops.

Speaker 9 (30:27):
Thank you, you got it.

Speaker 2 (30:28):
God bless.

Speaker 3 (30:30):
Kyle Olson at the Midwestern or the Midwesterner dot news
with those updates. Hey, coming up, TikTok. The President signed
an executive order on this plus you know, apparently according
to new information and we got more, he spent months
months planning that attack at the ice facility in Dallas.

Speaker 2 (30:51):
What we now know. There's more information we want to
give to you about that whole scenario.

Speaker 3 (30:57):

(31:36):

House spilled forty nine to fifty one, creating a twenty
four percent tax on wholesale marijuana transfers beginning January first

morning on a free for all Friday.

Speaker 2 (32:28):

Speaker 6 (32:30):

Speaker 6 (32:30):
Good morning?

Speaker 8 (32:31):
God bless you you too? HEYU me.

Speaker 6 (32:37):
If the if the last is allowed to win. Uh,
they're going to double down on the the amount of
arrest on the right and the Christians. So we cannot
let that happen. People, please get out and vote.

Speaker 4 (32:52):
Uh.

Speaker 8 (32:52):
It's it's it's you know, it determines everything.

Speaker 9 (32:57):
Well.

Speaker 6 (32:57):
And also to the gentleman with the first all you
tell anyone on the left to read Matthew twenty five,
verse thirty four. Matthew twenty five, verse forty one, and
that will tell you how Jesus uh treats the left
and the right.

Speaker 8 (33:13):
He is not for the left.

Speaker 6 (33:15):
Okay, left is evil, the left is Satan, the left
is the serpent.

Speaker 9 (33:21):
Blah blah blah.

Speaker 2 (33:22):
And thank you for that. Yeah, thank thank you, Nancy.
I appreciate it.

Speaker 5 (33:26):
Uh.

Speaker 3 (33:27):
And again, let's speak, let's clear it's not people, but
probably the ideology more than anything that she means. Let
me let me let me ask Jamie in Coopersville, who
has an update for us tonight about Muskegan.

Speaker 10 (33:40):
Yes, yeah, this this is Jamie.

Speaker 2 (33:44):
You're live on the air. Yeah, you're live on the air.
Thank you, sir.

Speaker 10 (33:47):
Yeah, they are having a town hall meeting in Muskegan
Heights today at one o'clock. And uh, Joscelyn Benson is
going to be there, and uh he'll reach Skolton. I
just wanted to pay, but it was gonna be there
to cover the e there.

Speaker 3 (34:05):
I won't but uh, there may be some folks and
and and and it would be nice to have some
of you maybe show up and ask a tough question
if you're able to get in.

Speaker 2 (34:13):
A lot of times they don't, you know, they do
those in the middle of the day when everybody's working
for a reason.

Speaker 10 (34:20):
Well, I know that there was talk about, you know,
the election and uh, all the transparency and everything like that.
So I mean that somebody be there asking her questions
about why she don't hand over the Uh.

Speaker 2 (34:32):
You should do it.

Speaker 3 (34:34):
You should do it, videotape it and let us know.
Maybe somebody else will go think, Jamie, thank you for
the phone call. I appreciate it. Unfortunately I can't make it,
but I think it would be a great opportunity.

Speaker 4 (34:43):
All right.

Speaker 3 (34:43):
Last, and not really stop, Mel in Zealand Township. You
guys have some news on a solar farm coming in.

Speaker 6 (34:52):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (34:52):
Yeah, this is Mel Cruz from Zealand, Michigan. God bless you.
Justin you too. There's really really the main concerns here.
Like about five years ago, several farmers signed on a
on an exploratory solar farm thing thinking that that was
turned out and they were done while they found out
the fine prints. They're locked in the solar farm wants

(35:15):
like eleven acres of farm fine farm land in here,
and it looks like they just about got it. And
there's two farmers that have signed on. Beyond that, they're
they're doing borings now, testing riding right through the cornfields,
doing testing, boring testing, and it sounds like a PA

(35:35):
I think it's two thirty three was past it in
the Michigan level Michigan State before the House was taken
over by the Republicans. Were they put that through it
and it allows the state to tell the townships. They've
got to have an ordinance to allow solar farms. And
so the next meeting is October fourteen. Everybody ought to

(35:59):
know what everybody ought to be there. It's going to
happen if we don't. If we don't rally and they're
looking at eves of time farm.

Speaker 2 (36:09):
Will you email? Will you do me an? Do me
a favorite and email me that information. I want to
make sure that we stay on top of it for you.

Speaker 4 (36:15):
Okay, I will, I will do that.

Speaker 3 (36:18):
Justin number, yes, number now email me Justin at Justin
Barclay dot com. Hang on, I'm going to make sure
that Kyle gets your info to me up next. Pamela
is here and by the way, art Prize been going
on downtown. Folks are running around seeing all the great
things downtown in Pamela has got at quite quite an exhibit. Actually,
i've driven past this. I didn't know this was yours

(36:38):
when I first saw it. It really is something and
welcome in Pamela Ornament.

Speaker 11 (36:43):
Thank you, Justin. It's a honor to be on your show. Yes,
we have my nonprofit Healing and Art. We have curated
the space across from Devas Place, the grass across the
street and in the grass we have one hundred and
twenty red jeans on display. The genes shine a light

(37:03):
on the hidden wounds of sexual trauma. Both male and
female veterans and community members wrote their stories on the
genes and it's just an opportunity to just break the
shame and silence that often go with sexual trauma. We
try to curate a space for empathy and conversation and healing.

(37:25):
One of the participants said that she had never purchased
new clothes her whole life, and now she's an elderly woman,
and after doing a pair of genes, she realized that
she is worthy of new clothes and so she can
now buy new clothes and not only just wear used
clothes that she had worn all her life. Another young
woman told us that it was the first time she

(37:48):
just said publicly, hey, I've been sexually abused, and she
said it was just a new sense of freedom. So
we love stories like that, and we also have an
interactive space where people can ride on a ribbon. Visitors
they can write a ribbon of solidarity or encouragement to survivors,
or people can take home a free pair of jeens

(38:09):
and write their own story or they can write their
story there at the exhibit. We have tables at the exhibit.

Speaker 2 (38:14):
Where is that?

Speaker 3 (38:15):
It just maybe it's maybe easier for you to tell us,
but it seems like it's on Monroe there, right in
front of the parking and between the But.

Speaker 2 (38:23):
Where is that exactly?

Speaker 11 (38:24):
Yes, So if you think of the front doors to
DeVos Place right off Monroe, like you're saying, if you
look directly across the street, there's the city parking garage
and there's a patch of grass in between Deboss Place
and that city parking lot, and the one hundred and
twenty pairs of regimes are right there in the grass,
and it's you know, it's it's hard to miss all

(38:45):
that red Pamla.

Speaker 3 (38:46):
If folks want to maybe go online find out more
about what you're doing and how they can help out,
what's the best.

Speaker 2 (38:52):
Place for them to do that.

Speaker 11 (38:54):
Yes, thank you. Healing in Arts with an ass Healing
in Arts dot org and we would love to have
people come and see us at our price, contact us
through our website and we just would appreciate any support.

Speaker 3 (39:09):
Thank you, justin absolutely my pleasure and we'll stay up
in touch. Let us know how it goes folks Pamela
Aldermen in their red genes display last story and we're
gonna probably have to dive a little bit more into
this in the after show. But we now know more
about that suspected well the guy that offed himself after
he attacked the ICE agents in Dallas, Joshua Jon. According

(39:32):
to the reports, plan is attack for months using digital
tools an app. In fact, he downloaded documents from listing
DHS facilities use apps to track ICE agents and made
detailed notes expressing ideological hatred toward Ice. The investigation suggesting
the assault was a targeted terre style ambush rather than

(39:53):
a random attack. By the way, that app you may
or may not have heard about the ice app before.
We're gonna have a conversation with that coming up next
week with Tech Tuesday and our good friend Trin Can
that be affordableized Store Lake Michigan Drive and Standale and
a Grand River Tech. Let's see if we can dive
in a little bit deeper for you on these apps
and how tech is being used to carry out some

(40:16):
of these things.

Speaker 2 (40:17):
Good Bag program is coming up.

Speaker 3 (40:19):
The fastest jaring radio is just flown by we appreciate
you each and every day. Thank you so much for
being here with us over the weekend. We'll continue to
keep you updated. So don't go anywhere, Meg get a
great one.

Speaker 1 (40:32):

Cardiac Cowboys

Cardiac Cowboys

The heart was always off-limits to surgeons. Cutting into it spelled instant death for the patient. That is, until a ragtag group of doctors scattered across the Midwest and Texas decided to throw out the rule book. Working in makeshift laboratories and home garages, using medical devices made from scavenged machine parts and beer tubes, these men and women invented the field of open heart surgery. Odds are, someone you know is alive because of them. So why has history left them behind? Presented by Chris Pine, CARDIAC COWBOYS tells the gripping true story behind the birth of heart surgery, and the young, Greatest Generation doctors who made it happen. For years, they competed and feuded, racing to be the first, the best, and the most prolific. Some appeared on the cover of Time Magazine, operated on kings and advised presidents. Others ended up disgraced, penniless, and convicted of felonies. Together, they ignited a revolution in medicine, and changed the world.
