Speaker 1 (00:00):
First, I want to get into discussion today then as
folks talking not only in Europe but across America as well,
as people wonder could this be headed our way tack
into the latest in tech and how it affects you
and your world. This is Tech Talk Tuesday on Wood
Radios West Michigan Live.

Speaker 2 (00:18):
All right then, freend Trent.

Speaker 1 (00:18):
Can it be a footall Lized Store Lake, Michigan Drive
in Standale, Grand River Tech on the line with this
this morning. And it's a subject we have been hammering
the last couple of days because we've seen a lot
of new it's not to talk about this. Uh, it's
happening in Europe. It's like full speed ahead there, but
how far is it from impacting us here in America?

Speaker 2 (00:43):
Trent, welcome in.

Speaker 1 (00:44):
Let's talk about the digital ID, why this matters, and
why folks should be concerned. So first and foremost welcome in.

Speaker 2 (00:53):
My friend.

Speaker 3 (00:54):
Yeah, good morning, justin.

Speaker 1 (00:55):
If you're thinking to yourself, well that's just Europe, it's
not going to hit me here, well, if you want
it to take a trip to Europe, you're gonna have
to pay the price. And the toll right now is
giving up all your complete digital ideas.

Speaker 4 (01:06):
Planning a trip to Europe, You're gonna have to hand
over way more than your passport when you get there.
As part of a new entry exit system, visitors to
most European countries will have to provide four fingerprints and
a facial photo at a self operated kiosk.

Speaker 5 (01:22):
The information will be stored for three years, with the
photo being used for.

Speaker 4 (01:26):
ID verification on later visits.

Speaker 5 (01:28):
Travelers who refuse to provide their biometric data will be
denied entry. The goal of the program is to enhanced
security and speed up border crossings.

Speaker 1 (01:38):
Meanwhile, they're letting all these people in from all over
the world. They don't mind this. And part of this
is the idea that it's not really about securing the
border as they make it there. I mean, obviously they
could just start deportations right now. If that were the case.
There seems to be something much more sinister happening. We'll
talk about those things and why in the digital age

(02:01):
all of these things are so important. Welcome innsed. This
is got a lot of people questioning, wondering. We did
a deep dive yesterday. I thought we'd just kind of
barely scratched a service for folks on a Tech Tuesday,
and then I want to go further into this down
the road a little bit later on.

Speaker 2 (02:16):
But why are people so concerned?

Speaker 3 (02:19):
Yeah, justin this is a digital ID for travelers. But
also remember the news is also saying that they are
providing a digital wallet to their citizens, and right now
it's optional, so it's not necessarily required for their citizens.
But this is not just a digital idea. It's a
digital wallet that's all encompassing. So think about bank accounts,

(02:43):
your social media profiles, think about medical services, government services,
you know, voting if they have precincts or whatever, we
use a check, whatever their equivalent is for voting related functions.
That's all going to be on essentilly government managed system
US where everything is in in one place. It's all digital,

(03:04):
So the government would have access to all of those
things in their control if they want to do whatever
with it. It's called a digital wall, and it would
be owned by their government.

Speaker 1 (03:15):
All right, what would they do? That's great question. Let's
let's maybe dump into some of that first. What are
they doing already? Well, thankfully we fought that war back
all those years ago. It became independent. You know, the
folks in the UK gave up their guns. They gave
up their firearms not too long ago, and now people
are being arrested for things they post on Facebook.

Speaker 6 (03:37):
Basically reviewed it and said their offenses there we need
to explore.

Speaker 1 (03:43):
Unfortunately, the time is.

Speaker 2 (03:47):
What did this guy post?

Speaker 1 (03:48):
It was a meme with a Palestinian flag that said
expletive Palestine, hamas Islam want to protest, blank off to
Muslim countries and protesting In.

Speaker 2 (04:01):
A second, I say, I think we're having you'll mention
one question so much. If you do, say, maybe get evidence.

Speaker 1 (04:07):
So the guy the cop there, I don't know if
he has a taste or anything else, but he's got
a pen in a walkie talking and he's going to
take the guy in and arrest him. This isn't the
first time we've seen people get arrested for protesting, not protesting.
Excuse me, that'd be that'd be like, well kind of
like what we see here with Antifa and some of

(04:28):
the violence.

Speaker 2 (04:28):
No, no, no, praying.

Speaker 1 (04:30):
I get the two mixed up. Praying outside of an
abortion clinic. People in the UK praying twent trent This
is why. And I'll paint you a greater picture of
what's happening in China right now, because they've had this
for years. Why people are so concerned? This is where
this is going.

Speaker 3 (04:48):
So justin think about if if you were you know,
disobeyed whatever local laws and you know, we're arrested for
whatever they said you couldn't post on you know, social media.
Think about if if you're gonna go get a bank loan,
or you're gonna go get a car loan, or if
you're gonna go, uh find a realtor to buy a house,
if these systems are all interoperative, and if these systems

(05:11):
are shared, or if you go to the hospital and uh,
you know something, something happens to you, and the and
the people like doctors or nurses look at your record
and say, hey, uh, this person is politically in this
path or way. Uh, people look at you differently. Justin
we're not used to going to the emergency room and

(05:31):
the doctor being able to see on the back end
what political party. The doctors treat us with respect regardless
of that. So why do we need to share that info?
And I'm not saying that in you're upright now, the
doctors can see it, but you're you're you're paving this
path where that can all be factored into a person's future.

Speaker 6 (05:51):
Uh.

Speaker 3 (05:51):
And the systems could be used for all different things.
And I think it would go into the doctor's hands
because they're gonna definitely suggest mental health there if you
think you should be protesting you know something.

Speaker 1 (06:04):
So wa in a minute, do you believe in you
believe in the sky Daddy? You believe in God, that's
what they call it. Now they say that you believe
in SKTYA, Well, then you've obviously got a mental health issue.

Speaker 2 (06:15):
We're going to have to commit you.

Speaker 1 (06:17):
I mean, this is the kind of thing that I
think people Christians, people of faith are concerned about, and
all of us ought to be concerned about. How's it working?
Forget what could happen? What about what's happening right now
in places like China?

Speaker 2 (06:32):
What are they doing there now? China?

Speaker 6 (06:34):
As we speak, a good school brings benefits, but people
with low schools lose rights. The cinema names and shames
people considered untrustworthy, plastering their details, even their addresses, across
big screens. It's a matter of principle.

Speaker 3 (06:50):
Those people have to be condemned.

Speaker 2 (06:53):
How those people aren't honest? So they have to pay
the price.

Speaker 1 (06:57):
I'm just telling you, folks, you could think that some
of this is could this wacky conspiracy theory. This is
like fringe stuff. Now it's already happening in China. This
is part of the system of how they do things. Now.
Everything's tied into the digital ID and the digital wallet,
and the AI, surveillance, facial recognition.

Speaker 2 (07:17):
All of it.

Speaker 1 (07:18):
So if you get caught jaywalking, they even talk about it.
I think in this piece, you're fine. People in your
neighborhood know what you did. You can't buy certain things
out of certain venning machines. This sounds really familiar to me.
Where have I heard this before?

Speaker 2 (07:32):
It's only right to pay your debts. You have to
blacklist those that don't.

Speaker 6 (07:37):
All the Supreme Court has created a blacklist for so
called bad citizens, those whose raytems have dropped to zero
on it are companies, but also twenty three million people
to date. Among them is this journalist you who he
got a little too close to uncovering corruption among high
profile party members. Oh after being sued for deationed by

(08:00):
the subject of a story he'd written, he was blacklisted.
He only realized when he tried to buy a train
ticket and was told he was banned from traveling.

Speaker 1 (08:09):
Yeah, we don't like what you posted on your Facebook profile.
Too much, too close to the truth on that one.
This meme right here, you're gonna have to pay a price.
You can't travel now again, folks, this is not fantasy
or fiction. This is fact, and it's happening in China
as we speak.

Speaker 3 (08:29):
Yeah, just remember, governments don't have to do this with
all of these things. But you have to really seriously
look at the people who are implementing these things and
pushing these things and saying, why is it really for
efficiency to better serve citizens or is there some long
term power grabbing, nefarious thing. And I don't even think
we have to look at I think as Americans we

(08:50):
go back to our Constitution. We look at the Fourth Amendment,
the right of our personal property, search and seizure laws.
If the government has all of this data and they
can do whatever they want with it, even sharing it
with private parties, how is that constitutional. I'm not a
constitutional scholar, but I don't think it's reasonable for the

(09:10):
government to have access to healthcare, what we do on
our computers, all of our information, everything I just don't
see that as constitutional. There's a serious issue there, never
mind where it can go in the hands of bad
people someday.

Speaker 1 (09:24):
Hey, you said the government would never do that. They
would never try to tell private companies what to do
or tell people what to say or think.

Speaker 2 (09:33):
They never ban you.

Speaker 1 (09:34):
Well, Google and YouTube just admitted they did that, not
just to me and you, but also to the President
of the United States Trump at the time, they've just
had to settle a lawsuit to twenty four point five
million dollars that lawsuit brought by Trump.

Speaker 3 (09:50):
Yeah, justin I don't know where they're going to pull
that money from. That's a lot of money. But on
the other hand, they have so much money. Did it hurt?
There's no is there actually any meaningful change happened? Was
that enough money? Was that not enough money? What's Trump
going to do with the money? I'd love to know
where that money's going.

Speaker 6 (10:11):
Now.

Speaker 1 (10:11):
It's probably going to go to some sort of I
don't know, foundation or something. But at the end of
the day, isn't enough money? I tell you probably not.
It is enough for them to write an article about
it and for it to be on the record, for
folks to know that these things are happening.

Speaker 2 (10:26):
It is important.

Speaker 1 (10:27):
Well, digital idea isn't the only thing that is making
us at risk. One of the things they're going to use,
I think to get us there is in Ben we
Ford and Bill Gates talk about this. We'll dive deeper
into it a later date. But it's a fact that
you don't know what's posted online.

Speaker 2 (10:43):
It's real or not. I talked about this at the
beginning of the show.

Speaker 1 (10:45):
Today it's tied in and right now the news story
Hollywood hitting back as an AI actress is hailed as
the next Scarlett Johansson.

Speaker 2 (10:54):
She's not real, but she's really causing a sturage frent.

Speaker 3 (11:00):
It justin with with with AI and with these i ds.
You know, obviously it solves a problem that they have
with what's real is what's fake. But remember anything that
can be faked, Uh, These these i ds, these digital IDs,
those can be faked. Look look at our voter rolls,
look at other systems of government where they have databases
of IDs. How do we know if the digital ID

(11:22):
system's not going to be trolled with with hundreds and
hundreds or thousands of bad entries to funnel money or whatever.
So it just ushers in a whole new level of
scary uh if if we're going to be going down
this path.

Speaker 1 (11:35):
Tred, can there be affordable Lifestorelink, Michigan Drive in Standale,
Grand River Tech a couple of great places with great
information if you want to reach out and find out
how they can help you. Maybe you don't want a
brand new iPhone and pay the price that comes with
it and all that, maybe they can help you with something.

Speaker 2 (11:52):
I think it's even better because that's.

Speaker 1 (11:54):
What I've That's what I've done, is going with the uh,
the the refer which is which is I think even
the price is much lower.

Speaker 2 (12:01):
Grand River Tech.

Speaker 1 (12:02):
Also, if you have an organization, a school or maybe
a church and you need some help securing things, dig
in for of those answers to at grandrivertech dot com.

Speaker 2 (12:12):
Always a pleasure, Trent, Thank you so much for taking
the time to be here with us today.

Speaker 1 (12:16):
I know we're barely barely scratching the surface on this thing,
but at the same time, boil boy, it is a necessity.

Speaker 3 (12:25):
Thanks Justin.

Speaker 2 (12:26):
Have a great day you two friends. God bless
