Speaker 2 (01:09):
This is the Big Three.

Speaker 3 (01:13):
Now speak three stories no matter most you'd be talking
about days around a water cool at the dinner table,
no matter where you are. Good friends at Heartland Home
Mortgage want to take care of you. What do you
want to buy? Refine all that go with the line
of credit. They're going to take care of every single
step of the way. They're faster, and they're better than
the big banks. They've saved us thousands every time we've
done each one of those things with them. Some of

(01:34):
the others that listen to this program too, we get
story after story about the job that they do. And
by the way, if you're looking down in Florida right now,
now's the time to do it. I guess prices drop
it down there. They can help you down there as well.
HHM lending dot Com reach out today number Well. The
stories continue to stack up in the Odd Epstein issue

(02:00):
and the latest the Justice Department and President Trump's Discretion
and Orders meeting with Glaine Maxwell. She said she would
meet with them, so they have. They've sat down to
try and get some information on what maybe behind the scenes,
could lead to more exposing of folks involved in the

(02:22):
capers there in that six hours yesterday, Deputy Attorney General
Todd blanche reporting the Mankswell's lawyer she answered every question
truthfully without invoking the Fifth Amendment. Blanchter confirmed the interview
will continue today order the DOJ effort to lean more
information about potential accomplices into that story and more.

Speaker 2 (02:46):
Yes, we've got more.

Speaker 3 (02:48):
In fact, we're peeling it back for you as we speak.
A big endorsement announcement, President Trump formally endorsing former Congressman
Mike Rodgers late last night. We got the news came
across the wires, and President Trump's endorsement.

Speaker 2 (03:07):
Are ringing one that you may remember he.

Speaker 3 (03:09):
Endorsed former Congressman Mike Rodgers last time in the twenty
twenty four election.

Speaker 2 (03:15):
Is a narrow loss. Rogers, ex chair of the House.

Speaker 3 (03:17):
Intelligence Committee, retired FBI agent, losing to Alyssa Slotkin in
twenty twenty four, but mounting that second bid this time around.
Trump praising his military background and promised to cut taxes
and regulations. Number recording the President visiting the Federal Reserve yesterday,

(03:37):
is it kind of an interesting moment where you see
the President and Jerome Powell in hard hats together standing
inside the renovations that they've been doing inside the Federal Reserve.
Trump given him a hard time about how much more
it's cost him to get the job done. Well, when
you're working, we think you literally print money. Do they

(03:58):
care how much much they're spending? Of course, not calls
him out. By the way, I guess went from two
points up into three point They're talking about billions of
dollars in this building, and I just can't it's harming.
A hard time wrapping my mind around the thing, but
it's it was funny to watch him give him the
business a little bit for a lot.

Speaker 2 (04:19):
So the two point seven is now three point one.

Speaker 4 (04:23):
Yeah, it just came out. Yeah, I haven't heard that
from anybody in the FED.

Speaker 2 (04:28):
Trump pulls pulls a piece of paper out of his
pocket and yeah, let me, let me.

Speaker 3 (04:33):
Let me get this right out of his guy like
he's got a receipt or an invoice or something. Uh.
A hilarious moment behind the streets. Of course, say they
really needing more than anything else. Is supposed to put
a little more pressure. By the way, to first time
in twenty years a president has visited the FED. Asked
about whether he'll be firing power or not. He said, uh,

(04:56):
he won't be, but he he'd love to see him
lower interest rates. So that's that's a let us Now
the president en route as we speak to Scotland, for
a trip that could reveal a massive deal with the UK,
more trade info on the way, and of course I'm

(05:17):
sure play a little golfing and a few other things.
Hey listen, speaking of other things and lots going on.
In fact, I want to give you a chance to
weigh in on all of it. And you could do
just that. Pick up the phone and hit these numbers.

Speaker 1 (05:33):
Called Justin now at six one, six seven seven four
twenty four. That's six one, six seven seven four twenty
four to twenty four, West Michigan Live with Justin Barclay
on news Radio would thirteen hundred and one oh six nine.

Speaker 3 (05:46):
If we'll also give you a chance to weigh in
on the iHeartRadio app. Just use that little cockback feature
the microphone next to the play button.

Speaker 2 (05:53):
Hit that and Rent Raves sound off.

Speaker 3 (05:57):
Our good friend on the line with now from the
Midwest to the Midwestern we got is Kyle Olsen joining us. Kyle,
good morning, appreciate you being here with Have you just
been a wild week?

Speaker 2 (06:07):
For sure? Hadn't it?

Speaker 5 (06:09):
Yeah, it never seems to end. Good morning.

Speaker 3 (06:12):
It's very gold moment. I can tell you that makes
his business interesting. Uh, and not just across the country
and throughout the world with developments in these stories, but
right here in Michigan, in fact, we got some big ones,
and I think maybe the biggest.

Speaker 6 (06:25):
Uh.

Speaker 3 (06:25):
Well, actually, first let's start with this because this is
the most immediate. This is the one that just happened
last night, the endorsement President Trump and Mike Rodgers.

Speaker 5 (06:34):
Yeah, it effectively clears the field. It seemed like things
were sort of moving in this direction anyway. Uh and
then when you know, when when Bill Heisinge announced that
he was not going to run, I think things sort
of moved moved more quickly after that, you know, I
think the So what this does is it effectively clears

(06:56):
the field. Mike Rodgers won't have a primary, at least
won't have a serious primary. President Trump, you know, has
a ninety plus percent approval rating amongst Republicans, so his
endorsement carries, you know, a major amount of weight. We've
seen that in lots of races across the country. But
the issue that Rogers I think has to overcome is,

(07:18):
you know, he Trump won in twenty twenty four. Rogers
didn't win in twenty twenty four, and a lot of
these candidates don't have the luxury of having President Trump
on the ballot in twenty twenty six. And so the
fundamental question is what are they going to do differently
to win in twenty twenty six that they didn't do

(07:39):
in twenty twenty four.

Speaker 3 (07:42):
Yeah, that's a really good question. What are they going
to do differently? And what what? How do you how
do you bring so there's are some holdouts out there
on the libertarian side of things, how do you bring
them into the into the into the tent? Because I
made the case in twenty four. Look, folks, I guess
maybe you're not happening. There is no such thing as
a perfect candidate. Uh And if you play that purity

(08:06):
test game like we've seen, unfortunately, what that leads to
is Alissa Slockey getting elected and right, run that same
risk now.

Speaker 5 (08:15):
Right And and Rogers he you know, he did not
he'd lost some of the base and because there were
questions about you know, his when he was on the
Intelligence Committee and the Patriot Act and you know all
of that. And and so I think that President Trump
will help to solidify the base for sure. And Rogers,

(08:37):
you know, has now he's got a lot of time
to be able to continue to make the case about
why he supports Trump policies and and you know what
he would do in the Senate to advance those and
protect those. So you know, I think it's he's got
work to do, but I think that he's got the time.
And the other important thing here is that when there

(08:59):
is in the primary, the candidate doesn't have to spend
all their money in the primary and then turn around
and raise money for the general election. And that's what
we saw in twenty twenty two. And so that's also
a huge advantage for a candidate who is being endorsed
this early.

Speaker 3 (09:14):
All right, let us there Mike Rodgers endorsed by President
trumpley last night with the drop the can. You'll sure
hear him on the radio shortly in the days ahead.
Another big story, and this is all over at the
Midwestern or the Midwesterner. Dot News have been doing a
great job covering these stories.

Speaker 2 (09:31):
But the DOJ.

Speaker 3 (09:32):
We've got investigations on investigations galore inside Michigan right now.
Two Michigan universities under investigation. DOJ investigating the twenty twenty
four election. Jocelyn Benson illegal votes that came in under
her watch. You're a stranger to this story, but it's
a big one, and it's really not a great look

(09:53):
when you're running for governor.

Speaker 6 (09:56):
No.

Speaker 5 (09:57):
And so the Department of Justice, they want to make
sure that only citizens are voting, which is the law,
and so they have questions about what Jocelyn Benson knew
when she knew it, what her role was in effectively
allowing at least fifteen non citizens to vote in Michigan elections,

(10:19):
and was that a result of her policies and her
guidance or what exactly was going on. And so the
Department of Justice has asked for several different bits of
information or not bits, but a lot of information, and
they've given her two weeks to respond. So we'll see

(10:40):
how this proceeds. My guess is, because it's the Trump administration,
she's going to resist and she may ignore it, and
we'll have to see how all of that plays out.
And what's fascinating is that there are legitimate questions about
how at least fifteen non citizens voted in the twenty
twenty four election. So here we have gone from Joe

(11:04):
Biden giving her an award because of her role in
the twenty twenty election to the next administration demanding documents
related to how fifteen, at least fifteen non citizens voted
in the twenty twenty four election.

Speaker 2 (11:21):
Yeah, and how do we know?

Speaker 3 (11:22):
This is the toughest part for me, because how do
we know that it was only ten fifteen? It's ten
to fifteen that we know about how many others? I mean,
it was ten to fifteen.

Speaker 2 (11:31):
It could have been thousands. We just don't know.

Speaker 5 (11:34):
Correct, That's what she's admitted to, based on her search
of a particular way that she searched. She searched the records,
she came up with fifteen, she admitted to fifteen. But yes,
you're right, how many more are there?

Speaker 3 (11:48):
It's just a it. This would be something that ought
to enrage ever. I don't care if you're a Democrat
or Republican, whoever you are, especially people that claim to
want to defend democracy and all the rest of it. Look,
it's if if you got people that are running the
show that are allowing this type of thing to happen.

Speaker 2 (12:09):
I mean, just look, folks, it's not that ard. Look
how hard it is.

Speaker 3 (12:13):
Just take a look at how hard it is to
get an apployment to get into the Secretary of state
office to get you your tags.

Speaker 2 (12:19):
Now. It's my birthday month, so I got to do
that now.

Speaker 3 (12:22):
And get that done for it's too late figure out
how to get it all worked out.

Speaker 2 (12:26):
And these these are the same people that are running
the elections. I mean, this ought to be.

Speaker 3 (12:30):
This ought to it ought to make people pull their
hair out, But I don't for some reason, I don't
see people really connecting the dots there and how bad
things really are.

Speaker 5 (12:39):
Kyle, Yeah, yeah, that's right. And we'll see if the campaigns,
whether it's whoever the Republican is or dug In, they
sort of make that case that she has not been
effective at running elections at customer service when it comes
to you know, titles and plates and in driver's licenses

(13:02):
and all of that, or if she's or if she's
not held accountable for that and about the votes, it
doesn't this is not a partisan issue. If those if
those illegal voters were voting for Donald Trump, they're effectively
diluting the votes of citizens who voted for Kamala Harris.

(13:24):
And that's I don't think anybody wants to see that happen.
Nobody wants to see the votes of citizens negated by
people who should not be voting in elections.

Speaker 3 (13:33):
We've got a long history of just governance here in
corruption here in the state that just gone run amok.

Speaker 2 (13:41):
In fact, one of those latest is the big bill.

Speaker 3 (13:44):
We're all getting about nearily a quarter of a million
dollars from Gratchen Witmer for her trip down Under. She's
been doing a lot of these trips, gallivanting across the globe,
trying to make a case that she has foreign policy
shops so that she can turn around and run in
twenty twenty.

Speaker 2 (14:00):
Is the best estimation I've heard on this.

Speaker 3 (14:03):
Well, meanwhile, it's costing all of us money because do
you think, really think we're going to get some investment
for investment from Australia.

Speaker 2 (14:10):
It's incredible.

Speaker 5 (14:12):
Well, she's think about this. She has gone all over
the world. She's gone to Australia, the Middle East, the
United Kingdom, Spain, to Asia, She's gone everywhere. Have we
seen a single announcement most of jobs or investment or
anything that has come from those trips. And here she

(14:34):
spent over two hundred thousand dollars, taking several people, including
I saw the lobbyists for Delta Airlines, which I thought,
why is the lobbyist for why are Michigan tax payers
paying for the lobbyists of Delta Airlines to go on
this trip to Australia? But what do they have to
show for this? And so here and the Midwesterner has

(14:55):
been reporting constantly about jobs leaving Michigan, companies leaving Michigan.
We just reported the other day about Pepsi. Pepsi has
been in Detroit for eighty years, incredible manufacturing, and they're leaving.
So it's just it's story after story, and it's eighty
jobs here, it's two hundred jobs there, it's fifteen jobs

(15:18):
over there, and this is adding up. And so instead
of focusing on what do we need to do to
keep long running companies that have been in Michigan for generations,
What regulations can we cut, what taxes can we cut,
she's looking beyond all of those companies and she's running
to Australia so she can get photos in front of

(15:39):
the American flag, signing some document, But then there's nothing
beyond that to show for it. And so this is
a high priced press release and photo wop that she's
spending our tax dollars on with no jobs to show.

Speaker 2 (15:55):
For it jet setting on our dime.

Speaker 3 (15:59):
That's probably the best ready to put it in and
there he is, Ladies and gentlemen.

Speaker 2 (16:02):
It is never a good moment.

Speaker 3 (16:05):
The folks at Midwestern are doing our best to stay
up on top of it all. Kyle Olsen, the Midwestern
or the Midwesterner dot new is always a pleasure, my friend.

Speaker 2 (16:12):
Thank you so much. You have a great weekend.

Speaker 3 (16:15):
And by the way, folks, don't just go there and
bookmark to say, definitely do that, but while you're there,
put your dam and your information in so that you
can stay up tonight on the latest stories from around
Michigan and beyond.

Speaker 2 (16:33):
More coming up.

Speaker 3 (16:33):
Pleasurely talk to somebody from the Treasury that pulls back
to Curtin and on those big deals that are happening
of course, President and the money coming back into the country.
It's not from grets and whitmor I'll tell you that
much more on that, but first, if you're able, please
stand for our national anthem.

Speaker 1 (18:01):
FYI like literally, it's West Michigan Live with Justin Barklay
on News Radio Wood thirteen hundred and one oh six
nine a FM.

Speaker 7 (18:10):
Here are your headlines from the Midwestern or this Friday,
July twenty fifth. I'm Robin Kaufman. It's a Midwesterner Dot
news original story Toxic waste Governor Whitmer's administration approved for
a Wayne County landfill is now going elsewhere. The leftover
radioactive waste from the Manhattan Project will now be disposed
of in Texas. Two Michigan universities that offer special scholarships

(18:35):
for illegal aliens are facing a federal investigation over alleged
violations of the Civil Rights Act. The schools in question
the University of Michigan and Western Michigan University. The DACCA
program was created back in twenty twelve under former President
Obama to allow illegal immigrants who came to this country
as children to avoid deportation while they work and attend

(18:58):
school and wrestling legend Hulk Hogan, a big supporter of
President Trump, has died. He was seventy one. Hulk Hogan
giving a speech at the Republican National Convention last July.
For these stories and more, visit the Midwesterner at the
Midwesterner dot.

Speaker 3 (19:13):
News checking our body of the hour news on the way.
We had The latest for you on the story is
you won't hear anywhere else, plus coming up checking in
with someone from Treasury. Speaking of stories you won't hear
anywhere else, some of these major investment deals coming into
the country just start getting the traction that they deserve.

(19:34):
We're going to talk about that and some of the
biggest of the big all on the way and we
hear from you on a free for all Friday, said
don't go anywhere, folks, we're back right after this six
one six seven.

Speaker 6 (19:49):
Trists for autos. That is a different kind of deal.
But because the Japanese proposed a very innovative solution. We've
been working with them for months, the trade team, myself,
Ambassador Greer, Secretary Lutnik, and they came to us with
the idea of a Japan US partnership where they are

(20:12):
going to provide equity credit guarantees and funding for major
projects in the US. So they got the fifteen percent
rate because they were willing to provide this innovative financing mechanism.

Speaker 2 (20:28):
It's maybe one of the biggest stories of the week.

Speaker 8 (20:30):
Now.

Speaker 3 (20:30):
I understand there's lots going on this week. So it's
hard because anytime you get a news cycle like we've
been in lately, it's hard. But it's hardy. This is
probably the biggest story when it comes to what's happening
in the United States. The's deals that are going in
the really the reset that the President Trump is affecting
right now and the administration, it's amazing. I barely hear

(20:52):
a peep about is it half a trillion dollars an
investment coming in from Japan. It's massive, and it's a
story again that isn't getting the do that it's that
it's deserved. Right now, joining us talk a little bit
about what is happening with the comeback here in the country,
and of course divey even a little bit further into
a counselor to the Secretary Joelivornia right now from Treasurer,

(21:14):
I appreciate you taking the time to be here with us,
and it's been an incredible run so far.

Speaker 4 (21:19):
Yes, thank you very much for having me. As you highlighted,
the press hasn't necessarily picked up on many of the
good things that the President has negotiated with the key
help of Secretary Beson. It's not just the five hundred
and fifty billion Innovation Fund so to speak, with the
Japanese coming in, but also the other one hundreds of

(21:39):
billions of dollars and I don't know where the total
is now, it's in the trillions of other foreign capital commitments.
Was just reflects the confidence and faith in the US
economy and the Trump plan to get this economy moving
in a very strong, powerful way with low and stable prices,
which was very consistent with the first Trump and administration.

Speaker 3 (22:01):
Well, we've heard some just a little bit of frustration
from the president. I can only imagine because what he's
doing right now is something that nobody thought could be done.
We're watching a comeback happen and the story is incredible,
and it's like there's barely a peep. And again, not
to right because people know this, but you know, I
just want to make sure that people understand the significance

(22:23):
of what's actually happening here.

Speaker 6 (22:26):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (22:26):
Well, there was one news source that has not been
particularly friendly to Trump, and I think President Trump is
been actually very biased. That head run aheadline the other day,
and where we are getting more stories of President Trump
is winning the trade war because it's so obvious when
you kind of look at the data that you can't
it's irrefutable, and people are very surprised. Many people not us,

(22:47):
of course, but very surprised that things have played out.
And as President Trump highlighted at the beginning of the year,
he wanted the one big, beautiful bill done on July fourth,
and that's what happened. The news, of course, justin is
that the bill was made retroactive to an inauguration day.
So what we've seen is this Capex comeback company spending

(23:09):
a lot of money on capital to improve their businesses,
and what that means is faster productivity growth, stronger rages,
and what we'll see is a further increase in what
we call blue collar wages, the non supervisory production workers.
The middle and lower income rungs doing incredibly well relative

(23:29):
to history. In fact, the only other time they've done
better was under President Trump one point zero. So all
these things are very accreative positive for the outlook. And
that's why the presidents talked about the Golden.

Speaker 3 (23:40):
Age chugging right now with Joelivarner for the Apartment of
Treasury Counselor to the Secretary there and some of the
major those and big pieces of news that just aren't
getting the covers that they deserve. But to your point,
this is one of the things here in Michigan specifically
that I've been watching very closely and really concerned about
warning folks, is that, look, all of this investment, we've

(24:03):
already seen it. I mean, it's it's been massive thus far.
We're only six months in. But can you imagine where
we're going to be after the four year term is done,
all of this investment coming in to the United States
pouring back in and as a state, making sure that
we're positioned correctly to be in the right place to be.

Speaker 2 (24:20):
A part of that.

Speaker 3 (24:21):
And there's a manufacturing state now in our state government.
We got to do some things to make sure that
we're making it advantageous for business to operate here and whatnot.
And that's that's a big part of the warning call
that I'm actually really been pushing forward on. But you
make a good point when it comes to the blue
collar we just heard the other day Mi Crow is

(24:42):
talking about how you know, five hundred thousand new electricians
are going to be needed in the years to come
in all of this new investment, whether it's AI or
chips or anything else.

Speaker 2 (24:51):
I mean, it's.

Speaker 4 (24:52):
Massive right now, that's correct, I mean, And so in
the bill, the one big beautiful bill. There's one hundred
percent expensing. If you're a landscape you owed a landscaping
business and you were to buy a tractor, or you've
got a building company and you needed to buy a
new machinery, you can now one hundred percent expense that
against against your cash flow. But in addition, you now

(25:14):
can expense if you're building a plant or a factory,
you can now expense one hundred percent of that construction.
So when you talk about electricians and let's say, carpenters
and other tradesmen, you know, the building boom is very important.

Speaker 5 (25:29):
But also the.

Speaker 4 (25:30):
Fact that as you just reindustrialize the manufacturing sector, which
is vitally necessary, especially in the Midwest Michigan where my
wife is from, it's integral. And the good thing about
President Trump making sure that bill with his leadership and
the help of a secretary best in getting this through
is when people file their taxes next year, they're going
to see they're going to benefit from that very quickly.

(25:52):
That was harder in the first time when the bills
got done late in the year. It got done at
record time, and you're going to see in Michigan and
elsewhere people going to see bigger take on paychecks and
that new entire standard of living, higher quality of living.
It's really good news.

Speaker 3 (26:07):
Yeah, I got to ask you while you're on the
phone with us right now. Yesterday the President went to
the fan That's the first time in twenty years that
the president has gone to visit the fat and making
headlines some of the conversation back and forth about how
much money is being spent there. And I thought to myself,
you know, it doesn't matter how much money you spend
on anything when you just printed out a thing there

(26:29):
and just laughing about all of the things that we're
watching play out here. But there was a really interesting
moment there with President Trump, and it really it kind
of pushes back into that question of lowering the interest
rates and when the Church of Will and Power might
want to do that. Any comments on that. I know
that the Secretary has been very vocal about.

Speaker 2 (26:51):
It as well.

Speaker 4 (26:52):
Right, I mean, one thing we know, well, we know
a couple of things for certain. One is that there
is disagreement on the FMC. There prominent members that voting
members on the FED. The voting group is the FMC,
the Federal Open Market Committee, that are saying rates are
justified to be cut as soon as July. And we
know from Jeer Powell's own testimony, from the fed's official forecast,

(27:14):
that the rate they control, the federal funds rate is
high relative to where they think it should be. We
know housing is very weak, that affordability is low, something
the President takes very seriously. He wants people to be
able to buy a home and be able to afford it.
And then mortgage rate curly is a key variable in that.
So I totally understand where the President's coming from. He

(27:36):
makes very persuasive, strong arguments. We'll see what happens. Hopefully
eventually we'll see these rates from the Fed come down.

Speaker 3 (27:43):
Jose Lavornia there the counselor to the Secretary of the Treasury,

Speaker 5 (30:44):
I would say that.

Speaker 1 (30:47):
We have a fifty to fifty chance, maybe less than that,
but a fifty to fifty chance of making a deal
with the EU.

Speaker 3 (30:54):
And it'll be a deal where they have to buy
down their tarra there's there right now at.

Speaker 8 (30:58):
Thirty percent, and they'll have to buy him down maybe,
or they could lead them the way they are, but
they want to make a deal very badly.

I would have said we have.

Speaker 4 (31:07):

recently jumping into politics at the r n c UH
last year and uh and making this big anounce.

What happened last week when they took a shot.

Speaker 2 (33:13):
At my hero This is about a year ago.

Speaker 8 (33:18):
And they tried to kill the next president of the
United States. Enough was enough, said, Left trump Omania, bron

By the way, even Mike, my mom is not a
massive uh trump in I would just tell you this.
She see even was impressed by that, by that moment
at the convention.

Speaker 2 (33:59):
She really like seeing that. So there you have it.

Speaker 3 (34:04):
Really sad we're learning that he had all does they
had a heart attack, suffered cardiac arrest. I know he
wasn't well. He was in the hospital recently, and I
know we're going to learn more about what actually happened.
But again, you know these wrestlers, they live a very
unhealthy life.

Speaker 2 (34:19):
It's not it's not it's not the most healthy life,
I can tell you that much.

Speaker 3 (34:25):
And very very sad again, gone to so seventy one,
it's so young. Did you know that he was baptized
months before his death, just eighteen months ago. Hulk Hogan
was actually baptized. I remember seeing it and I remember

(34:47):
thinking to myself, wow, that that is saying you become
increasingly outspoken about his Christian faith, which I found to
be incredible. But a story, I think that it's still
actually being written. The story that we're learning about what
happened to him, not just in death, but also in life.
That story incredible as he and I believe his wife

(35:11):
both baptized together, and his church there in Florida. It's
an incredible story. And one again Ozzy this week theo Huxtable, right,
Malcolm Jamal Warner.

Speaker 2 (35:23):
It's been a tough week.

Speaker 3 (35:25):

Speaker 2 (35:29):
But we folks are reminded about this life. It is
