Speaker 1 (00:00):
From higher top Monroe Center in downtown Grand Rapids. We're
talking about what matters most to you when West Michigan.
Joining the conversation now at six one six seven seven
four twenty four twenty four. That's six one six seven
seven four twenty four twenty four. It's West Michigan Live
with Justin Barklay on Wood Radio Radio.

Speaker 2 (00:23):
A man, welcome in.

Speaker 3 (00:24):
What on a kickstart day to the uh see the holiday?

Speaker 2 (00:30):
Oh my goodness. Well, I'll tell you one thing I
can say.

Speaker 3 (00:34):
For sure, which is uh, which is at least helpful
in this situation, is that traffic seems to be a
bit the increase the last couple of days.

Speaker 2 (00:46):
And that's that's kind of I think that's gonna be
helpful in the.

Speaker 3 (00:53):
In the shorter of things here, that people are staying
put as much as they can't because they probably already
where they need to get to right now. So, but
the weather is big story today, weather.

Speaker 1 (01:05):
Ultraffic, his stories of the day. We were talking about
what matters most in West Michigan and beyond.

Speaker 3 (01:12):
This is the big three now now the stories of
Madams should be talking about days around the watercolor, the
dinner table, no matter.

Speaker 2 (01:21):
Where you are these stories.

Speaker 3 (01:23):
Power and buy are good friends at Hartland Home Mortgage.

Speaker 2 (01:28):
That's right.

Speaker 3 (01:30):
We've been telling you for a while about all the
great things that Dave Galloway can do and the team
at Hartland Home Mortgage, and they are fantastic. We've worked
with them several times. We bought her home refinanced. Don't
even lower interest rate. They want a Bracket's kind of
like a status symbol, now, right, the golden handcuffs. It

(01:51):
kind of feels that way, right. But you know every
time that we worked with we did a home equity
line of credit to they they saved us thousand. I mean,
they're faster, they're better than the big bank. Incredible to
work with, and right now, as we see interest rates
start to move again, you may want to reach out
because Dave and the team will be able to point

(02:13):
you in the right direction and probably surprise you with
what they.

Speaker 2 (02:16):
Were able to do.

Speaker 3 (02:18):
Him lending dot Com Democrat Lawmaker's biggest story that I'm saying,
FBI targeting them on the national scale. We call this
accountability in the real world. I understand there's that sort
of propaganda, the push to establish their own narrative, but
they're the ones who walked into this.

Speaker 2 (02:37):
They fooled around. Now it's time to find out.

Speaker 3 (02:40):
The FBI, along with the Department of War, now looking
in to that video of the seditious six made the
other day telling trips are you may not have to
follow the president's orders. In fact, one of them said,
you must not follow the orders if you believe they're legal.

(03:03):
That's not a good look for America. It's bad for
all of us. The FBI quietly opening that investigation. Democrats
Senator Alyssa slock In, former CIA analyst, herself spilling the bands,
letting everybody know she's under investigation. The Democrats just don't

(03:23):
get it. They don't understand the art of the deal.
They're melting down right now over this latest story. I
don't know if you've seen it. In Russia Ukraine, by
the way, they don't want peace either. This is the
one thing they don't want. They don't want Trump to
get another one under his belt, another big win, peace
with Russia and Ukraine. You know, Hillary Klint had to

(03:44):
come out and give him praise when it came to
the Israel deal. Now in the Middle East, now, oh
my gosh, you'll have to do backflips if it gets
is done with Russia and Ukraine, Democrats proving again they
don't get it. Though they're complaining, they're melting down over
Steve Wickoff, the all the folks working with Trump. They

(04:04):
are coaching some of these folks in uh, well in
Russia how to deal with Trump.

Speaker 2 (04:12):
This is how negotiation works. Trump says.

Speaker 3 (04:14):
By the way, pressure, posturing, back channel advice, all of
those things, it's all part of pushing your opponent into
a corner so you can walk away with more leverage.
And by the way, this is what he wants a deal.
In fact, he's responded to it himself and he said
just this. As soon as I saw this, I thought, yeah,
this is this is dumb. They don't they just they
never they never can understand, they never get it.

Speaker 2 (04:37):
But here you have it that.

Speaker 3 (04:40):
Bloomber has a whippos coaching the Russians on how to
appeal to you.

Speaker 4 (04:46):
Well, I haven't heard it, no, but that's a standard thing,
you know, because he's got to sell this to Ukraine.
He's got to sell Ukraine to Russia. That's what he's
That's what.

Speaker 3 (04:55):
A deal maker does.

Speaker 4 (04:56):
You got to say, look, they want this you've got
to convince him with this. You know, that's a very
standard form of negotiation. I haven't heard it, but I
heard it was the standard negotiation. And I would imagine
he's saying the same thing to U Graat because each
party has to give.

Speaker 3 (05:12):
It to see you're a learning it to pro Russian.

Speaker 2 (05:17):
Oh, I think.

Speaker 3 (05:18):
Look, the reporter just asked, are you worrying, Steve Whitkoff
is to pro Russian.

Speaker 4 (05:23):
Worker go on for years, and Russia's got a lot
more people.

Speaker 2 (05:28):
I love, more soldiers.

Speaker 5 (05:29):
So I think if Ukraine can.

Speaker 3 (05:33):
Make a deal, it's a good thing. But this is,
this is astounding, how obvious, how cleric's becoming.

Speaker 2 (05:39):
They don't they don't want peace at all.

Speaker 3 (05:41):
Now we're going here, well, the story that probably hits
closest to home and most important to all of us
today winter officially here a lake effects storm and we're
under that winter weather advisory, and of course win on
the lake shore being a big deal, lots of it
and in fact could see some power.

Speaker 2 (06:00):
Today, but throughout the evening things will really start to
ramp up.

Speaker 3 (06:06):
We're already starting to see some of that mix flying
around downtown at thirty seven out at the airport right now.
Two to eight inches, they say, throughout West Michigan, even
more south and north in some places, and all the

(06:29):
way up north. I've been hearing them talk about it
this morning, Dave. Dave's excited about forty inches up in
the up. I don't I don't want to think. I
they just locked myself in the uh in the house
there and and uh and probably hibernate, probably hibernate for
the way. But they're used to this kind of thing,

(06:50):
and we should be too. So just a reminder on
this on the on the roads, take it slow and
give yourself a little bit extra time.

Speaker 2 (06:56):
You're gonna be fine. Uh.

Speaker 3 (06:58):
And the fact that there's less people on the roads
today is probably really helpful for all of us. So anyway,
that's the latest, more honest, stick with us as this
thing developed.

Speaker 1 (07:09):
Call Justin now at six one six seven seven four
twenty four twenty four. That's six one six seven seven
for twenty four twenty four West Michigan Live with Justin
Barclay on news Radio Wood thirteen hundred and one oh
six nine a f M.

Speaker 3 (07:25):
Yep, that's where we are, folks, that's the that's the story.
And I'm sticking to it now. If you want to join,
you can do so right now. As I said, the
iHeartRadio app is open as well. If you've tapped that
little microphone bat next to the play button, you can
nt raves sound off.

Speaker 2 (07:43):
And we'd love to hear from you.

Speaker 3 (07:44):
In fact, I'm filling in for Glenn on the National
Program coming up on Friday. I'd love to hear from you.
Then you have a West Michigan a little bit of
a spotlight. Bob's on the phone this morning to kick
things off. Bob, good morning, Welcome in.

Speaker 6 (07:57):
Ah, Good morning brother this. I have a bleuss Thanksgiving,
et cetera. You and your staff and I first heard
about all this. We love Newsmax. The fake news makes
me want to go to pine w Rest. But anyway,
we're listening. When it first came out Slotkin, who never served?
All these people disobeying illegal orders? All right, So I'm

(08:20):
listening to that stuff, and let me give you some background.
First of all, when everyone goes to basic training, whatever service,
there's something they teach you called the Uniform Code of
Military Justice. Through the one hundred and thirty four things
they could get you for one through one, thirty three
all kinds of stuff lying that no, no, no, no, and

(08:41):
the thirty four is that they can't get you for that.
They can fill in the blank. Okay, first of all,
First of all, this guy Mark Kelly, he was the
captain in the US Navy, astronaut, this, that, and everything else.
He should know better slot and she has no no
knowledge of anything. But here's the thing. I looked it

(09:04):
up on two different things. A Western's seditions seditious the
inciting of hostility against the government likely to cause rebellion
or insurrection, but not amounting to treason Rhodale synonym finder

(09:25):
incitement to riot, agitation, stirring up insurrection, possible mutiny. These
people have no idea what they're doing. We watched Newsmax
last night and these former commanders that came out and
says all it's doing is there will be some younger
members in the military that are looking for ways out,

(09:45):
et cetera. It's evil, it's the epitome of horrible leadership.
And these people need to be reprimanded. We heard last
night in Newsmax Greg Kelly said, look what Slockin said. Well,
I really didn't know of any on lawful orders. So
if you don't know, shut your mouth, support the country,

(10:06):
put your politics aside.

Speaker 2 (10:07):
Enough.

Speaker 6 (10:08):
I just wanted to fill you in on that and
just thank you for your show over the years. I
appreciate it. While back I got the Gulf of America
t shirts and anyway, I'm always here from your military advisor,
So Bob Bob.

Speaker 2 (10:23):
I appreciate that expert advice. Thank you very much.

Speaker 3 (10:26):
And now you know they're talking about now and a
happy Thanksgiving to you as well. They're talking about now.
We had that story yesterday that they may recall the
Department of War, may recall Kelly, bring him in and
court martial. M Look, I don't know exactly how this is,
but one thing is for certain, okay, and they've they've

(10:49):
got they've got to have accountability on this. You cannot
let this stand. And I think that's understood. In fact,
I think that they've got their marching orders right now.
Some are going to try and spend this. And you
know this is they're already in the works. The Democrats
are already in the works, are doing this right now.
This is what maybe part of their plan was, although
I don't know that they expected Trump to come down

(11:10):
as hard and to be the reaction. I think they
just wanted this to be a topic of conversation at
at Thanksgiving dinner. Oh yeah, all those illegal orders. I
think that's what they wanted to say. But as the
back the back sort of the this whole thing starts
to backfire, particularly when they're being asked on places like

(11:33):
CNN and some of these others. They get there, they're
carrying the water form normally, but what what were those
illegal orders? And they don't have an answer. In fact,
there is no answer. That's that's uh, well, that's that's
that's part of the part for the course here. It's
part of the big problem that they've got. The They

(11:54):
just don't have an answer for this because there is
there is no answer. By the way, I don't know
if you saw this story the President pardon a couple
of birds yesterday, There've already been a federal judge step
in and say that as you refers to part the
birds are going straight to the slaughter out in less
than one year.

Speaker 2 (12:13):
That's a joke.

Speaker 4 (12:13):
But we've accomplished more than most other administrations have accomplished
in eight years. And this is a very special Thanksgiving
We thank God for his many blessings and the great
success that this country has seen in the short period
of time. We draw strength from the love of family
and friends, and we express our undying gratitude for the

(12:35):
men and the women of the United States Armed Forces.
We love them. We pray that peace and prosperity will
continue to bless our land, and together will really just
keep this great drive going to make America great again.

Speaker 6 (12:51):
Maga.

Speaker 4 (12:51):
I think it's the greatest expression in the history of politics.
Make America great again in less than one year.

Speaker 3 (12:58):
Yeah, I love it. By the way, there was a hit.
There was a little bit of a hitch in all
of this yesterday there was a bit of a surprise.

Speaker 2 (13:05):
I want to get to that coming up in just
a moment.

Speaker 3 (13:07):
We'll give you a chance to hear that and some
of the other things you just won't get anywhere else. Plus,
somebody else has thrown their hat into the ring to
run for Senate. Here as a Republican of Michigan. You'll
hear from that familiar voice in that the name of
somebody you you may know.

Speaker 2 (13:25):
Coming up but nine point thirty five this morning.

Speaker 3 (13:29):
Plus we'll grab your calls and more as we get
things rolling on the day before Thanksgiving.

Speaker 2 (13:34):
Here it's West Michigan Live.

Speaker 1 (14:50):
Like literally, it's West Michigan Live with Justin Barclay on
news Radio Wound thirteen hundred and one of your best lines.

Speaker 7 (14:57):
From the Midwestern Or This Wednesday, November twenty six, I'm
Robin Poffman Fabeaus Township betting a solar and energy storage
plan tied to the Chinese Communist Party. The township Planning
Commission will review a special land use request from a
company called Three Lakes Solar. In other news, four illegal
aliens from Venezuela arrested in Detroit during a Michigan manhunt

for the person who assaulted a Detroit Border Patrol agent.
Two sixteen year old cousins in custody along with their parents,
rounded up while law enforcement executed a search warrant for
an escaped fugitive from Ecuador wanted for the other crime.
And President Trump participates in the annual partning of two
Turkeys at the White House Wattle and Gobble. During the
speech prior to the pardon, the President talking about the

(15:40):
raging crime issue in Chicago.

Speaker 4 (15:42):
If you look at the crime that's taken place in
Chicago in the last two weeks. Just take a look
at so the front page of every newspaper. It's out
of control.

Speaker 7 (15:51):
For these stories and more. Visit the Midwesterner at the
Midwesterner dot news.

Speaker 3 (15:57):
I just saw that they they ruled that they pardons
on the turkeys last year.

Speaker 2 (16:04):
If Biden were done using auto pen. So they've been.

Speaker 3 (16:08):
Knoll and void.

Speaker 2 (16:09):
H whoops.

Speaker 3 (16:14):
Bore from Trump who had jokes the president of partnering
turkeys yesterday.

Speaker 4 (16:18):
Turkey's being pardoned today go by the names of Gobble
and Waddle. When I first saw their pictures, I thought
we should send them. Well, I was gonna I shouldn't
say this. I was gonna call him chuck in Nancy.
But then I realized I wouldn't be pardoning them. I
would never pardon those too. I wouldn't pardon them. I

(16:39):
wouldn't care what Malania told me. I think it would
be a nice thing to do. I won't do it.

Speaker 6 (16:44):
Darling.

Speaker 2 (16:49):
He had to do it. He had to do it,
had to throw it in there. By the way.

Speaker 3 (16:55):
Some really other admirable and notable pieces from yesterday's pardon Ceremondi.
He gives a big shout out to someone very special,
and I think INA's great to have a president who's
not afraid, not ashamed to do this.

Speaker 4 (17:11):
In less than one year, we've accomplished more than most
other administrations have accomplished in eight years. And this is
a very special thanksgiving. We thank God for his many
blessings and the great success that this country has seen
in the short period of time. We draw strength from
the love of family and friends, and we express our

(17:33):
undying gratitude for the men and the women of the
United States Armed Forces. We love them. We pray that
peace and prosperity will continue to bless our land, and
together will really just keep this great drive going to
make America great again. Maggie, I think it's the greatest
expression in the history of politics, make America great again

(17:56):
in less than one year.

Speaker 3 (17:57):
Yeah, big shout out for for God as well at
their giving things. But that's you know, that's what Thanksgiving
is all about. That's what this day is all about.
We've gotten so far away from it. I think one
of the reasons we have so many problems in this
country is that we've completely forgotten to give things. And

(18:19):
part of that is a society that we're in nothing's
good enough, you know. That's that's the funny thing about
all these woke folks and the folks on the left
run around in all the complaints that they make. Part
part of that is is either they never stop to
actually give thinks for the good things that are happening
and really take stock and how great America is and

(18:40):
how great it can be because we're not like any
other country. There is no UK dream, there is no
Mexican dream, Canadian.

Speaker 2 (18:50):
There's only one. It's the American dream. It's like that
for a reason.

Speaker 3 (18:54):
There is no other country like this, and it is
because we have a covenant with God. It's a it's
a country that was set up on and by the way,
you'll go back into the history the founding this nation,
you'll see governors in states all across the founding states
giving that things, that proclamation, the Proclamation of Thanksgiving that

(19:16):
was red in those pews in churches. That's how significant
this whole thing is.

Speaker 4 (19:27):
But we have more people working, we have more people praying.
The churches are coming back. I don't know if you've
been reading that story, but religion is coming back to America.
Some people say, oh, why would you mention that to me,
that's a big deal. And this Thanksgiving we're also making
incredible strides.

Speaker 3 (19:47):
But it is, it is, It is a fantastic story.
It's one I've been keeping an eye on as well,
and folks, it's one that I think is.

Speaker 2 (19:58):
It ought to be encouraging for all all of us.
It really ought to.

Speaker 8 (20:04):
Do.

Speaker 3 (20:04):
We have our flaws, yes, we absolutely do. Nothing is
perfect because no one man is. But at the end
of the day, there was only one, and he was
half God and he is who we give thanks to today,
tomorrow and every day for what we are blessed with

(20:28):
a lot of that's not our doing, folks. And when
you realize that, that's well, that's where something special happens,
right all right, Back after this, we got news next
edwitter weather advisory is underway. We got to snow. The

(20:51):
mix of stuff currently falling, in fact blowing sideways in
some cases downtown it's whipping wildly that wind, the wind
on the lake shore. We'll have more updates and continue
to keep you up to date with them as as
it really starts to kick in the gear as matwork.
Kirkwood said earlier from What TV about the time sun

(21:12):
goes down today. So that's that's the latest. Take a
little extra time. You'll be fine today over the river
and through the roads to Grandma's house tomorrow, and stay
with us for the updates. It's West Michigan Live, all right.
Back on and at it again, folks. A big announcement

(21:32):
came last week, former Michigan gop CoA chair Burnett Smith,
saying I'm gonna throw my hat in the ring for
Senate and a good friend, familiar face and name you
probably you probably heard her of even on the program before,
but thank you so much for joining it.

Speaker 2 (21:49):
We appreciate you being here with us today.

Speaker 9 (21:52):
Thank you for having me, Justin. It's a pleasure.

Speaker 3 (21:55):
So let's start, you know, adding your hat into the race.
Why did you decide, I mean, this is a pretty
big deal. You decided, okay, I'm co chair of the
party here state why this must have been a big
you know, it must have been a big epiphany or
something to really to get you to say, I'm gonna
I'm stepping down here and feel called to run in
this direction.

Speaker 9 (22:16):
Yes, you know, Justin, it is so important, it is
so vital, you know, Michigan. I think about this because
Michigan families. They deserve a voice. They deserve a voice
in Washington. But the voice they deserve is one who
would defend faith, protect families, and restore our God given freedom.
I am running justin to truly return power back to

(22:39):
the people.

Speaker 3 (22:41):
Give us an example what that looks like, because you know,
I understand what you're saying. You know, obviously people feel
like maybe they have lost a little power, maybe they
have lost a little significance or influence.

Speaker 2 (22:54):
What would you like to see happen?

Speaker 9 (22:56):
Well, they have think about this. Let's think about our
constitution life. Since we need to go back just in
to the ABC's of our constitution. It is so important.
And when I say a accountability government must answer to
the people, not to special interest groups or political insiders.

(23:17):
When I say b policies must support families, workers, and
communities without tipping power towards government outreach. When I say,
see the constitution. The Constitution provides the god rails for freedom,
for security and prosperity. Returning it, it's so important to
return it paths and us going forward. We have lost

(23:41):
our way and that's exactly why we see what's happening
in our country today. Because so many people they don't
even know what the constitution says. The young people do
not know what so many of them do not know
what the constitutions say. Others may have known it, but
they've forgotten it because on purpose, what we're seeing happen
in our societ. They're literally trying to erase our history.

(24:03):
And that's why many of the schools they don't have
history classes. I've had civic classes. We need to restore
the abcs of our constitutions back in our world today
and move forward.

Speaker 3 (24:15):
You know, obviously you've seen the latest here, most recently
with Senator Alissa Slockin, and you know the comments she's
come out and made with the Seditious six and these
other Democrats. You're just talking about the constitution and itself
here and this this is troublesome for a lot of people.

(24:36):
I mean it really it puts America in a bad light.
And I think it I think it's going to get
somebody killed, this type of talk about not founded, following
orders the commander in chief and things like that. But
it's an example of how bad things have gotten with
the Democrats.

Speaker 9 (24:53):
You know, and not only the Democrats justin you know,
it's humanity. And see when we lose our way, when
we take God out of our country, which our forefathers
we were. This country was built on Judaya Christian value.
When you take morality out of a country, you're going
to get chaos like we're seeing it. We're going to
get all the confusion, the violence, the destruction of humanity.

(25:15):
It is because we've taken away the morality that God
requires for all of us to walk in. So what
do we expect? So I'm running to bring that back,
to remind people, to educate them, to motivate them, and
to demonstrate what that really looks like. And it's it's
high time for us to do it now. We don't
have time. And that's one of the reasons why I've
put my name in the hat to run for US

(25:37):
Senate because I know that I will go to Washington,
I will not compromise, I will speak truth to power,
and I will help the citizens of Michigan and our
government get back on tracks the way our forefathers intended
for it to be.

Speaker 2 (25:52):
Bernard D.

Speaker 3 (25:53):
Spencer this right now, she's running for Senate here in Michigan.
What are you hearing when you're on the you know
you're having these conversations with people. I mean even before
you you were on the trail, You've been involved with
the Republicans here in Michigan for a long time. But
what are you hearing right now on the ground for
about what matters most to people, what people are really

(26:15):
concerned about.

Speaker 9 (26:17):
Well, first of all, Justin, people have lost faith in government.
They've lost faith and politicians. They don't know who to trust,
and that is so important that we bring trust back.
If we don't have trust, people cannot trust us and
they can't trust the government, what do we have. That's
the number one thing people they don't trust and we

(26:39):
need to bring trust back. How do we do that?
The ABC accountability is so important that we understand that
we have to have the accountability to bring this back.
It's so important that we do this. And also i'm
hearing people are families are starving, people are people are hungry,
So we need to also address that so many things,

(27:00):
people are losing their jobs. It's so but it's so much. Justin,
I don't know where you want me to start, but
there's so many things that I can talk about, but
I know that we don't have time today. To talk
about all that. I can share why I'm running for
US Senate. But if you go to my website, they
will get a lot and that's my landing page. But
the full website is coming out in a couple of weeks.

Speaker 2 (27:22):
Give us that page so folks can stay connected.

Speaker 9 (27:24):
What is that Bernadette Smith for Senate? Missus Smith goes
to Washington.

Speaker 3 (27:33):
I like that, Bernadette Smith for Senate? Is it number
four or spell dot com? Rfo r okay, Bernette Smith
for Senate dot com? If you want to go check
that out, and of course we'll put it up in
the in the stack as well. I'm going to ask
you about the Republican field so far. So there are
a couple other candidates. One is is Mike Rogers, who

(27:55):
the President has endorsed. Now, I know that you have
a relationship there, and obviously you hadn't announced by the
time that the President had endorsed. What's your take on
that endorsement and what you might do going forward to
let people know where you stand?

Speaker 6 (28:13):
Right?

Speaker 9 (28:14):
You know, you're you're so correct about the president did
not know I was running at that time that you know,
I just threw my hand in the rains On last week.
But I want to say this, I so admire a president.
He's done such a great job. And still, you know,
we need to continue to pray for him because you know,
he's doing a good job and we understand, you know,
stand with him. But I want to say this, if

(28:35):
you were to ask our president this question Bernadette Smith
is running, I'm just sure that our president would say
I am extremely excited that she is exercising her freedom
as an American citizen to run.

Speaker 3 (28:50):
Fantastic Bernadette Smith Force Senate dot Com Now.

Speaker 2 (28:57):
An anything else?

Speaker 3 (28:58):
Before we go, we got to make sure that we
cover because I know you're going to be here and
there probably out meeting people, talking to folks, events that
you may want to share with folks that you're going
to be at on the I know the announcement just
came kind of quickly here, but what what should folks
keep in mind?

Speaker 9 (29:15):
Sure, I'm going to say this too, justin people ask me.
Some people have asked me, you know, what makes you
different from Mike Rogers? And you know, I really would
like to say this. My focus is not on my
differences with mister Rogers. My focus is on what I
will bring and help the citizens of Michigan. And that's
going forward. That's what that's what my focus is because

(29:36):
I know that I can truly help them. I have
the experience, I have the background, and I'm ready to
move forward into Washington. I will be in here on
Poor Heuron on December six. I will be speaking to
that body of audience. I'm also attending certain different parades
and so forth. So I'm getting my schedule right now.
My assistant and my team they're working on it. But

(29:59):
I'm very decided to be on the campaign trail, bringing
and restoring truth to our constituents. And I do want
to say this you said earlier, and it's so true.
I've been on the campaying trail. I mean, can not
campaign trail, but just on throughout Michigan for decades, right
and on my own dollar. I did it because why
did I do this on my own dollar for five

(30:20):
years and beyond, you know, I mean going across the
state of Michigan. It's because I care for the citizens
of Michigan. I believe it's so important that they be educated.
It's so important that they demonstrate that we demonstrate what
it looks like, you know, to be a conservative Christian
And what does that mean conservativesm me just following our laws.

(30:41):
It's not it's following that what our forefathers has placed
in order, and I as we follow that justin We'll
be all right. The bottom line is they're trying to
destroy it and it's not all it's just humanity. They
need help, and I'm here to help humanity. And that's
all people in the state of Michigan.

Speaker 3 (31:00):
Now Bernadette Smith running for Senate here in Michigan, Bernadette
Smith for US Senate dot com, the website, Bernadette Smith

governor as well, so you can make your best decision.

Wood thirteen hundred and one oh six nine af AS.

Speaker 7 (33:43):
Here are your headlines from the Midwestern or this Wednesday,
November twenty sixth I'm Robin Hoffman here in Michigan. The
crackdown on illegal aliens continues as four people from Venezuela
arrested in Detroit. This happening during a Michigan manhunt for
the person who assaulted the Detroit border patrol agent two
sixteen year old cousins in custody along with their parents.

(34:05):
In other news, Fabius Township vetting a solar and energy
storage proposal tied to the CCP Chinese Communist Party. The
township Planning Commission will review a special land news request
from a company called Three Lake Solar. That meeting scheduled
for December. And President Trump partning two turkeys in Washington,
DC at the White House and then heads to Florida

(34:28):

is being made in the peace talks between Ukraine and Russia.

Speaker 4 (34:34):
People are starting to realize it's a good deal for
both parties. Have they got to stop the war?

Speaker 7 (34:39):
For these stories and more, visit the Midwesterner at the
Midwesterner dot News.

Speaker 2 (34:48):
Is busted.

Speaker 3 (34:51):
I only you've heard porch pirates this time of year
usually get and I get a lot of focus and
attention because they get caught and we've got four video
of them doing their thing.

Speaker 2 (35:01):
Right.

Speaker 3 (35:03):
But this is a guy's busted for a completely different
in fact, as a complete ring of thieves.

Speaker 2 (35:08):
But check this one out.

Speaker 5 (35:09):
A bost just in time for the holiday shopping season.
An international theft ring brought down on Long Island.

Speaker 9 (35:15):
Welcome back.

Speaker 10 (35:16):
I'm Steve Lacy and I'm Natasha Burma.

Speaker 9 (35:18):
These are not your average porch pirates.

Speaker 7 (35:19):
Prosecutors say a network of runners were given FedEx tracking
information to help them steal boxes moments after they got delivered.

Speaker 5 (35:27):
All right, Fox fives Arthur Chan has a look at
the sophisticated crime ring.

Speaker 7 (35:31):
It's apome because I get a lot of deliveries.

Speaker 5 (35:34):
The efficiency of these alleged porch pirates seemed uncanny over
a two year investigation. There are times that seemed like
they were waiting for the FedEx delivery person to arrive
and just their luck. Across more than thirty towns in
Suffolk County, they seem to only be there for cell
phones being delivered or other expensive electronics. The coincidence raised.

Speaker 2 (35:56):
Eyebrows inside job. How would they know? Right?

Speaker 8 (35:59):
So clearly a pattern developing with the cell phone, so
we decided to investigate that pattern.

Speaker 5 (36:05):
On Monday, the Suffolk County DA's office announced the takedown
of a sophisticated porch pirate ring. Fourteen defendants indicted the
ring leader from the Bronx where the stolen phones from
Suffolk County would allegedly end up then to be resold
on the black market domestically and internationally.

Speaker 8 (36:23):
They had the technological ability to unlock the phones and
utilize them either as internet devices or communication devices, were both.

Speaker 5 (36:33):
While authorities have now charged fourteen people as part of
this sophisticated ring, they say they are still working on
rooting out how it is that the group came by
such insider information from FedEx, the tracking information of these electronics,
and for that reason, they say more arrests could be
on the way. Those we spoke with in Suffolk County
are relieved to hear a warning shot being fired at

(36:54):
porch pirates.

Speaker 7 (36:55):
I'm glad they took them down.

Speaker 5 (36:57):
That's a good thing.

Speaker 11 (36:58):
I'm the suburbs, so you would think it wouldn't happen
that much here. I certainly hear about it happening a
lot in the in the city.

Speaker 3 (37:03):
That's where it happens. It's the suburbs, man, that's where
they get this.

Speaker 11 (37:07):
And you know places our houses are really close together,
and you know, you drop off package on the porch
and somebody comes in and steal it or something of
that sort. But but I haven't run into a lot
of it out here, and like I said, we've been
fortunate in.

Speaker 5 (37:16):
Not so fortunate for the alleged porch pirates that some
of the charges they face carry a maximum of eight
to twenty five years behind bars in Melville Island.

Speaker 3 (37:26):
Arthur G and Box five News, a lot of them,
if not more illegal Lealen, how about that what one
of them is that this is like that Venezuelan gang
that was going around or whether it's trend Raguar is
another one over in uh In in the Detroit area,
in those really posh areas of Oakland County, and they

(37:47):
were getting into breaking into people's homes and they had
like very high tech ways of doing it. Incredible. Rush
Hour four is a movie with Chris Tucker and Jackie Chan.
You remember that series that franchise. Variety reports today in
one of the strangest reports I've seen in a long time,

(38:10):
Variety reports that it's coming back and its by request
of a very important in the individual, a a vip.
Donald Trump, the President of the United States, according to Variety,

(38:30):
has asked that they make a.

Speaker 2 (38:34):
Fourth a fourth Rush Hour. I've never seen anything like
this before.

Speaker 3 (38:40):
It is it's just again you would almost think this
is something from the Onion UH or or you know,
maybe maybe the Babylondi the Rush Hour four in the works,
they say, with paramount on board to distribute the newest
installment in the Buddy Cop series, the long jest stating
sequel reportedly the beneficiary of some oval office interface.

Speaker 2 (39:02):
That's great. President Trump personally requested that the studio revived
the franchise as first report advice said, Now, what what else?
What else would we like to see brought back? If
we if if he could just pick up the phone
and make a call, we got it.

Speaker 3 (39:20):
We got another couple of UH franchises back to the future.
That might be tough to pull that one off. That
was a good one. Well, you've seen the Indiana Jones
stuff here and there. That that that that's kind of
that's kind of fizzled out. I think they've sort of
exhausted their plot lines there and they went so woke.

(39:42):
But maybe if they came back and made it kind
of fun again, they'd be Okay, folks, don't forget it
was five years ago.

Speaker 2 (39:50):
As we go into Turkey.

Speaker 10 (39:51):
Day tomorrow, I know you've all heard me talk about
Thanksgiving the number of times these past couple of weeks.
But like I said before, we are are going to
get through this. We are doing our part when we
protect our loved ones and stay apart this holiday.

Speaker 3 (40:08):
A muffled Gretchen Whitmer who some wish would have just
kept the mask on for other reasons. They're telling you
not to go out and great Thanksgiving. So I'll be
darned if I don't make it to my Thanksgiving gathering.
Whether the snow is deeper or not, we had other
things much deeper back then, and I won't be the

(40:30):
turn I'm getting that turkey tomorrow, all about you. Stick
with us for the latest little weather advisory in effect
for most of West Michigan and storm totals on all
of the snow coming out. We'll have the details on
conditions on the road and more so, don't go anywhere
throughout the day and tomorrow as well.

Speaker 2 (40:52):
Glinn Back Program is coming up next.

Speaker 3 (40:54):
I'll be back in for Glenn nationwide on the Glenn
Back Program on Friday for Beck Friday. What an honor
and a privilege. In the meantime, make it a great one, folks,
Happy of Thanksgiving and God bless
