Speaker 1 (00:00):
Particularly, I would say this weekend would be a great
time to do just that. In fact, our good friend
pastor Joe Beva Lockwoo joining us from Newchapel in Grand
Rapids and of course.
Speaker 2 (00:13):
Off of Alpine there at four mile.
Speaker 1 (00:17):
This is the Is this a fourth or fifth year
for this big Independence Day weekend event? Living in Freedom?
Speaker 2 (00:23):
Pastor?
Speaker 3 (00:25):
This is our fifth annual.
Speaker 4 (00:26):
I'm so glad that that a mom with you justin,
so good to see it.
Speaker 3 (00:31):
An that's important. It's a big deal.
Speaker 1 (00:34):
Where did this come from? Because I was a part
of the first one and there's been no looking back.
I think it's important to remind folks where where we
came from and why you continue to do this.
Speaker 4 (00:46):
Oh it's massive, and you know we're doing it as
our part, but it's important that all of us like
minded people engage.
Speaker 3 (00:54):
And here's why. Five years ago, don't forget Lancing.
Speaker 4 (00:58):
Someone in particular Lancing tried to shut down the world,
tried to shut down churches, and I felt like, as
even the senior pastor of a church, I didn't have
the right to close our doors. And so we had
a drive in church the first several weeks, and then
we opened up with two in person and a drive
in and it was in that season that you begin
(01:20):
to see who the real patriots were. We get called
a lot of names, I guess these days, but patriot
is my favorite. And yes, that's when we met you
and we had you in for the first drive into Freedom,
which became living in Freedom and really became a flex
of the fact that our freedom does not come from government,
(01:42):
It does not come from lancing.
Speaker 3 (01:43):
It comes from God Almighty.
Speaker 1 (01:46):
You know, I have to think about when I just
talked about this taking our country back and what it's
going to take to do that. You know, it's interesting
Pastor Joe Bavelocua with us right now.
Speaker 2 (02:00):
Chapel.
Speaker 1 (02:01):
I remember this quote, and I know you're fond of
it too. I think it was Adams who mentions how
we ought to celebrate each and every year and the
founding of our country. And it talks about the importance
of things like fireworks and all the rest of it.
Speaker 4 (02:17):
Yeah, I mean, it talks about fireworks and bonfires and cookouts,
and right in that list it talks about showing and
flexing our Second Amendment right with a gun. And so
we at this event living in Freedom.
Speaker 3 (02:32):
It's amazing.
Speaker 4 (02:32):
I mean we have we have an amazing church service,
three of them, eight thirty, ten and eleven thirty. We
have Pastor Willy George, who was Gospel Bill back in
the day, if you remember, a wonderful man of God,
a general in the faith. And then afterwards we lit
out to the Freedom Carnival and that's going to be fabulous.
But part of that day is our raffles and we
(02:54):
want to celebrate with what has been customary and traditional
and American heritage, and that is that we're raffling off
a shotgun this year, premium shotgun, and we're proud of that.
Speaker 3 (03:05):
In fact, last year we got a little bit of
a hit story.
Speaker 4 (03:08):
It actually became some really good press because Western Michigan,
this is us. We are sportsmen. We are people who
are like minded and share the same values.
Speaker 3 (03:18):
And so we have giveaways for kids.
Speaker 4 (03:20):
We've got bikes, and we've got different toy packs, we've
got grills, we're given away stuff for mom.
Speaker 3 (03:25):
But we're giving away a shotgun.
Speaker 4 (03:27):
What's so funny is in previous years we've had preschool
teachers and moms end up winning that gun, and you think,
oh man, why didn't the guys win it.
Speaker 3 (03:36):
I'll tell you why, because the moms were the ones
putting in for it.
Speaker 4 (03:40):
The guys already they're already loaded, and so they wanted
the grill stuff.
Speaker 3 (03:43):
But yeah, it's pretty exciting and it's part of our
American heritage.
Speaker 4 (03:47):
It's what we need to be doing, and that's what
living and freedom is all about.
Speaker 3 (03:51):
As you well know.
Speaker 1 (03:52):
I can't wait to be a part of it this weekend.
It's going to be a blast if folks want to
come out again. Lots surprises, Carnival, free foot and three
fantastic church services. I think that's important again to bring
bring into the picture as well as a faith, a
major part of this country.
Speaker 2 (04:08):
It's founding. It doesn't happen without it.
Speaker 1 (04:11):
This great nation is founded in our and it's woven
into the fabrica.
Speaker 2 (04:14):
Who we are.
Speaker 1 (04:15):
But Nuchapel, a great place, just spoke there a couple
of weeks ago, and there's a reason why every year
I'm a part of this event and we bring the family.
But Pastor Joe Bevilaqua again tell us where folks need
to go and maybe how they can find out more
about what's happening.
Speaker 3 (04:31):
Well, if you want.
Speaker 4 (04:32):
More information, go to Newchapel dot com slash freedom on
that site has all of the details. Bring your family
out for one of our three church services eight thirty, ten,
eleven thirty. That's where you're going to get a little
bracelet that is your axis. Everything's free, so all the
raffles are free. The Freedom Carnival we have inflatables, face painting,
(04:55):
dunk tank and everything in between. There's a car show,
free lunch on us. Why are we doing all of
this because our freedom comes from God and not government.
And if we forget, if we forget why we're doing this,
why we need to celebrate, why like minded people need
to come together, then we are doomed to repeat some
(05:16):
of the awful things that happen, chiefly in twenty twenty.
Speaker 3 (05:18):
But we're doomed to repeat that again in Michigan.
Speaker 4 (05:21):
Don't let off the gas just because you know, as
our president says, you'll be so tired of winning.
Speaker 3 (05:27):
I get it. But don't be so tired of winning
that you stop winning. We need to.
Speaker 4 (05:31):
Engage, get together like minded people, make a big deal
out of Jesus, and then at the same time celebrate
our patriotism and our freedom. Big living in Freedom is
all about that Newchapel dot com slash Living in Freedom.
Speaker 1 (05:48):
