(00:02):
And here we go. Welcome toFriday. Friday, Loujah to you.
That's what I always say. It'sthe Justin Barclay Show, but for one
more day, it's Mike Opelka. That's me sitting in for my friend Justin
Barclay. And I hope he's havingthe greatest vacation ever, because I am
(00:23):
having the greatest time sitting in onhis show. And I appreciate you being
there. I know you have choices. We know you have choices, and
we thank you for spending time lettingus crawl inside your ears. I'm not
gonna whisper like joe did the creepywhisper last night. That was the creepiest
thing and he only brought it outat the end. I hope you watched
(00:47):
the press event yesterday. They keptreferring to it as the Big Boy Presser,
even though that wasn't the official title, And even though I don't think
it was a Big Boy Presser,I really don't think we got what we
were promised. There were selected reporters, there were questions that you know had
(01:10):
been screened, and how do weknow it? Because Joey had a card
with names and photos and companies. And I'm pretty darned sure because past his
prologue, and we have pictures inprevious events like this, when Biden had
the card with the names in orderof whom he was supposed to call on,
(01:34):
and we saw the questions were onthe cards right there next to the
reporter's face. It just smacks ofa scripted event. And even then,
even then, in a scripted event, Joe Biden was able to step on
his own shoelace. There were someinteresting moments last night, and the question
(01:57):
of the day is going to bedid Joe Biden do enough to tamp down
the fears, the shouts for himto step aside as candidate? Did he
do enough? Did he make itthrough the entire press event? And you
(02:19):
know this shouldn't be just satisfactory score. We're talking about the president of the
free world, most powerful gig onthe planet, and you want somebody who's
playing at their highest level. AndI wonder, I wonder what you think.
I have definite opinions. I don'tthink he's been there in full capacity
(02:45):
as we would need for commander chieffor a long time, and in fact,
he referred to somebody else's commander inchief last night. I know that
was a mistake, but he wasgaffing all over the place. He was
gaffing all over himself last night. And I think some of the Democrats are
even more concerned today than they wereyesterday. Very interesting that the governor got
(03:09):
to mention yesterday. Governor Whitmer gotto mention in one of the questions.
We will get to that because that'skind of an important moment that happened last
night. Near the end of thepress conference. Nobody really went after Joe
Biden on his cognitive decline. Nobodyreally went into the details on that.
(03:32):
But we'll play you some clips fromit, and if you missed it now,
we ran it here on the newstalk superstation nine ten. We ran
the entire thing here. And rememberit was originally scheduled at five thirty four
five thirty East Coast time yesterday, and then early in the day or early
(03:53):
in the afternoon, actually we're toldno, it's going to be six thirty
and a lot of us wondered whywhy is this being delayed? And we're
never told why, but many ofus who are media savvy speculate, well,
they're trying to move it back sothat it can't make the evening news
(04:15):
on the East Coast at least. You know, so when David Muir jumps
into the evening news on ABC,and that's the largest newscast in the country,
would they go and break away fromthe news to cover it. I
guess somebody thought yes, because thenit got delayed. It didn't even get
close to starting until after seven, and it was it was like seven twenty
(04:42):
seven or seven twenty five when thingsfinally started happening, which in our house
meant we didn't get to watch thefinal Jeopardy face off because my wife and
I play Jeopardy against each other everysingle night. It is a battle of
the brains every night, and we'replaying Jeopardy as I'm watching on a split
(05:08):
screen to see when this is goingto start. My wife, because you
don't think I got to jump in, I said, no, they won't.
Now you know, it was twentyone minutes after the hour. We
were heading into the final round ofquestions, et cetera, and then here
we go, bump bump, bumpbum, ABC News. You cut off
the final Jeopardy and at least itwas a runaway, didn't affect the outcome.
(05:30):
But my wife and I were ina very tight battle Jeopardy. It
happens every night. You do thatto keep your brain sharp. So it
started just before seven thirty and Joewent fifty eight minutes. He almost did
a full hour by himself, andI thought the whole thing was kind of
boring watching it. And I wonder, since since I had the benefit of
(05:55):
the video, and Andrew was runningthe you been working like twenty seven hours
or something, and I don't knowhow you do it, but we were
running the entire press event last nighton the radio station. As you were
listening to it, did you thinkJoe Biden did a credible enough job to
(06:15):
keep his gig, not only aspresident but nominee for the Democrats? I
have a it's really weird because listeningto it, he did a pretty good
job of giving his points. Butthen there was all of the different times
where he's like calling Trump the firstblack vice president, or calling President Zelensky
(06:39):
President Putin, and you're like, wait what. And then because I didn't
even know he had his note card, that shit. Oh yeah, that
should have queued me in there.Yeah, when he realized at the very
end, when he goes, that'sthe end of my notes. Thanks guys.
I'm like, what, Yes,And he had he had the binder
with him he brought not the binder. Now that's okay. I don't mind
(07:01):
a president having a binder. WhatI do mind is a president having a
note card with the names and photosand probably the questions from the reporters that
he was supposed to call on.And that's that's troublesome to me. It's
just the fact that, like, when you have all of the questions there,
(07:21):
but then you're like, oh,my notes are gone, I've hit
all of my talking points. Yeah, I'm done here. It's not like,
wait, you weren't just sitting inthat NATO summit for the last what
forty eight hours? They've been doingthis. Sure. Yeah, So you're
like, you don't just have thelike, at least some of the knowledge
to answer more questions locked away inyour head. Well, that's the problem.
(07:44):
They're locked away and may never comeout. But the very first question
about Kamala, the one you referenced, we knew, at least I knew
that this was not going to goover. Well, it's well, this
is what he said. I wouldn'thave picked Vice President Trump to be vice
president, and I think she wasnot qualified to be president. Now he
(08:07):
just misgendered Donald Trump as well asmiss employed Donald Trump. He said,
I wouldn't have picked president vice PresidentTrump. And one of the more remarkable
moments came almost an hour later whenwe had a member of the press as
(08:31):
Biden was trying to leave. Hewas trying to get out of there,
and he basically said goodbye and hewas walking away and Peter Deucy and others
who did not get called on.Peter Deucy was totally stiffed last night.
There were friendly faces that got calledon by Joe Biden, but not Peter
Deucy, and nobody was going tochallenge him got called on. But there
(08:52):
was one reporter who managed to getJoe Biden's eye as he was trying to
walk off, and he said said, hey, you referred to Vice President
Harris's vice President Trump, and Trumpis using that right now to mock you.
How do you combat that criticism fromtonight? And I thought this was
(09:13):
fascinating answer. Vice President Harris asvice President Trump. Right now, Donald
Trump is using that to mock yourage in your memory, How do you
combat that criticism from tonight. Listento him, thank you, and then
(09:35):
Kringe John Pierre Cringe Jump said thisconclusive this ross conference, thank you,
thank you, thank you. That'swhat they do and try and shout out
over the press by thanks everyone. As he's shuffling off doing the rumba roomba
walk off stage, and I wonderwhere does that instinct to say listen to
(09:58):
him? Should you? So he'ssaying listen to Vice President Trump, which
I'm gonna call him all day. It's really funny to me. It's funny.
Anyway. There are some moments fromthe debate I keep wanting to call
the debate from the press conference lastnight that bear repeating. And I don't
(10:22):
know if you noticed it, butJoe Biden has a crutch. Many of
us who speak publicly have crutches, and they are phrases or words that we
usually rely on too much. JoeBiden has them, and I wasn't the
only one to notice it. Helikes the word anyway. He also had
(10:43):
the cough last night, and thecough was very apparent in the early part
of the presentation last night. Atone point I think I was counting it.
The coughs per hour, but itwasn't. The whole thing was under
an hour, but it almost wascoughs per minute. At one time he
coughed four times in a minute, and I just think that's a dry throat.
(11:05):
So have a glass of water there. But now as we start this
Friday, and I'm gonna remind youof Friday, Louja to you. We
celebrate Friday as you made it tothe end of the week. We celebrate
this fabulous end of the week.As we approach the weekend, I'm wondering,
(11:28):
did Joe Biden do enough to keephis gig? Two four eight eight
hundred talk. Two four eight eighthundred talk is the number if you want
to weigh in, or you cango on social media. I'm going to
put a pole on my Twitter accountand it's Mike Opelka Mike Opelco. Or
you can just look for at stuntbrain all one word st U N T
(11:52):
B R A I N and uh. We'll we'll find out what you the
people think did Biden do enough? And I will check in with the live
tabulator that is tracking how many Democratselected officials, how many Democrats are calling
on Biden to drop out of therace. The Daily Wire's been keeping track
(12:13):
of this number since the second ofJuly when Lloyd Doggett of Texas first came
out and announced that it's you gottago, Joe. So we'll get to
that as well as yesterday we gotsome consumer price Index numbers and what does
that say about the economy? Whatis the state of the economy. My
(12:35):
buddy EJ and TONI from Heritage Foundationis going to join us. He is
the best brain on the economy. And I've got a friend from Newsmax named
Tony Shaeffer who is a lot offun. And we're gonna have some fun
with Tony Schaeffer at seven point thirtythis morning. It's going to be a
great Friday, and I hope you'rea part of it. Mico Pelke in
(12:56):
for my buddy Justin Barclay on NewstalkSuperstition nine ten am. It is a
Friday Friday, Louia to you.Michael Pelka in for Justin Barkley and the
Justin Barklay Show. And I'm smiling. I know it's early, I know,
and you're like, I got toget up so early six twenty four.
(13:18):
If you have to be somewhere byseven o'clock. You know what you
gotta do. Let's get it moving. Friday, Louia to you. We're
celebrating the weekend, and we're alsocovering what happened last night in Washington,
DC when the much anticipated press eventfor Joe Biden the first time we were
(13:39):
told in months and months and monthsthat Joe Biden was going to do a
big boy press conference and he wasgoing to take more than one question,
and it turned out he really didn'topen it up and take questions from the
full press pool. He was selectiveand intentional and likely scripted in terms of
(14:01):
what questions were being fed to thepresident ahead of time. And why do
we speculate this, why do wesay this, Why do we bother accusing
this administration of manipulating the press.I'll tell you why, because they've done
it before in previous press events. The President pulls out of his coat pocket
(14:24):
a note card is about three incheswide and about eight inches long, and
it has names and photos and theaffiliation of the reporter and their question.
So this has been done before, and past is prologue, as they say,
And also in just the past twoweeks, since the disastrous debate performance.
(14:48):
In just the past two weeks,Joe Biden has gone on radio stations
and the questions were given from thecampaign office to the radio host. In
the case of one the Philadelphia host, they admitted that on CNN and were
fired. The person lost their jobbecause they didn't do what we call the
(15:13):
journalism. And yesterday a story breaksthat are a radio station, I think
it was in Milwaukee. Yes see, Milwaukee radio station agreed to edit an
interview that was recorded with President JoeBiden after he used the term blacks.
According to a statement from a companycalled Civic Media. This is a Wisconsin
(15:35):
based left wing network talk show. The station removed two short segments from an
interview with Biden that was done witha host named Earl Ingram. It aired
on a July fourth interview and theedits were made through quest of the president's
(15:56):
campaign, which is just so amazing. So after the disastrous debate performance,
the Biden campaign contacted these Milwaukee, this Milwaukee station, the Philly station,
and they said, hey, we'lldo an interview. We'll tape an interview,
(16:18):
you can air it on July fourth, it'd be great for Independence Day.
The same thing happened in Philadelphia,But the Milwaukee station apparently found its
journalistic soul, which that makes mehappy when even if it's on the left.
But I'm all for honesty. Thetruth has no agenda, the station
(16:41):
wrote, in the interest of transparencyand consistent with Civic Media's mission and core
values, we sharing. We aresharing the edited segments now and making the
full unedited interview available. Good foryou, Civic Media. Given the gravity
of the current political moment, thestakes in this election, the importance of
(17:02):
public scrutiny of public officials in thehighest office, we believe it is important
to share this information. Well done, But you know, why did it
take you this long? Why didit take you over a week to raise
your hand to go? By theway, we actually we got pressure to
edit and we did. This isfollowing in the footsteps of the Biden administration
(17:29):
going after newspapers after Joe said somethingand they called to correct the statement.
New York Times was called pressure tochange after the ABC interview with George Stephanopoulos.
Yeah, but this one in thetwo edits at the time around five
(17:55):
point twenty, the removal of thewords quote and in addition to that,
I have more. Let me getthis up here in full screen, because
sometimes it goes off the side ofthe edge. I have more blacks in
my administration than any other president, all other presidents combined, in major positions,
cabinet positions. Now, why wouldyou remove that? If that's a
(18:18):
fact, and what's the problem. The Biden administration has been very open about
its diversity, equity and inclusion plans. There also was a reference to something
that Donald Trump said about the CentralPark five. They removed some of the
statements he made. But why editthis? And now why did it come
(18:41):
out? Now? I suspect thatsomeone had the unedited version and was about
ready to play it. We'll getinto this so much more to get into
today. It's Sopelka in for Barclayon Superstation nine ten am. It is
six thirty five and a little bitof a yeeha to you, Friday,
(19:04):
Loujah to you. It is theJustin Barclay Show, and it's Micho Pelka
in for Justin Barclay. It's beenmy real honor, genuine honor to be
in for my friend all this week. He'll return on Monday as the Republican
National Committee's convention kicks off in Milwaukee, which should be very interesting. And
(19:30):
mister Trump with the rally on Saturdaynight and you'll be able to listen to
it here. And why wouldn't you. Maybe you're going to hear the nomination
of mister Trump's running mate, theannouncement of his running mate. I'm looking
at the schedule, the current scheduleof the RNC, and I know Don
(19:52):
Junior is supposed to speak before hisfather, and UFC chief Dana White is
also going to speak before Donald Trump. And I'm just wondering who's going to
nominate the vice presidential candidate. DonaldTrump will do that, but he's also
going to maybe give us a sneakpeak Saturday night, so you don't want
(20:14):
to miss that. You want tobe here on Superstition nine ten. The
President's coming to town today. Bythe way, President coming to town to
shore up what many Democrats consider tobe a must win state for Joe Biden
or he's never going to have ashot at the presidency in the current polls
are saying it's not looking good forJoey. That's not looking good for Joey
(20:40):
in a whole bunch of swing states. Despite what he said last night about
the polling. He doesn't believe inthe polling. He's also in a tough
heat against Kamala Harris. When itcomes to the they call it the polymarket
betting pools over who will be thenominee. Currently, Biden is favored at
(21:02):
forty four percent, with Kamala atforty and that keeps fluctuating, That keeps
fluctuating. And I don't think thestories of Barack Obama and Nancy Pelosi privately
meeting to discuss Biden's fitness to runare helping. And I also think that
Kamala's appearances, and she's doing anumber of public appearances these days, I
(21:26):
think those are bolstering her chances ofstepping into that spot because she is a
lot more I was going to sayloquacious, but I don't know if I
should be throwing sat words out atthis part of the morning show. Is
(21:47):
it too early for me to godeep into the vocabulary? Andrew? Is
that okay? Can I say she'sa lot more loquacious than Joe? I
know that word goes over my head, but I'm sure there's someone else up
there that got it well. Yesterdaywe talked about schadenfreude, which is a
great word, and if you're familiarwith schadenfreuda, then you understand it's the
(22:12):
pleasure we take at the misfortune ofothers. So when Joe Biden does something
dumb, I have the Shodenfreuda feelingand that's kind of kind of fun.
But I mentioned Kamala because with NancyPelosi and Parah Obama reportedly getting together to
(22:36):
talk about Kamala Harris stepping in forJoe or somebody, but Joe stepping aside,
the focus naturally goes to Kamala Harris. And why wouldn't it go to
Kamala Harris. And one of thereasons it goes to Kamala Harris is because
she's in the VP role that weassume she's ready to go. You assume
any vice president is ready to go. That's part to the job description.
(23:03):
But a lot of people think becauseshe's the cackler, because she's you know,
kind of incompetent to her, youknow, frightening when she speaks I
love electric school buses. I justlove them. Good for you, And
she says a lot of dumb thingsthat we should not consider her. If
(23:26):
you're a Democrat that you should notconsider. Well, yesterday, the former
Press Secretary Jensaki, also known asJen Snarky, was a speech offian and
she thinks that it's got to beKamala. If it's not Joe, it's
got to be Kamala. And it'sgot to be Kamala because sexism and racism.
(23:51):
Kama here the vice president. Don'tcall her vice president now because I
keep going here. She is likean in my view, an undervalued talent.
She's a very fierce communicator. She'svery strong, especially on one of
the core issues that made the electionmaybe one or lost time, which is
abortion rights, you know, andthey said, this is why I think
what she did that did a coupleof interviews after the debate people. I
(24:12):
was sitting on a set with abunch of other MSMBNBC anchors and we were
like, everyone's like that was great. It's like, yeah, that's what
she's doing out in the country andnobody is really tracking it. It's just
that's who she is. But thereis a character out there. There is
It's almost like public opinion hasn't caughtup with what she is doing out there.
(24:34):
And also we live in a countrythat is sexist and racist. So
like there is that, not everybodyat all, but there is a level
of it that does impact elections. So we're sexist and racist. That's why
we would not consider calmlo. It'snot because she was assigned the job of
fixing the border and it only gotworse. And she also says really dumb
(24:59):
things all the time. I loveelectric school buses. We know, we
know, we know, You're justgonna have to calm down about that,
lady. For God's sakes. JoyBahar, the ironically named Joy Behar over
at the View, you probably heardabout her. She's upset with people who
(25:19):
are mocking Kamala Harris because of herlaugh. You know, we call her
the cackler sometimes because she likes tocackle a lot, and Joy Behar was
mad about that yesterday. She's madabout people who were mocking Kamala. Who
really takes me off about him?Though? Is this laughing Kamala remark?
It's such a sexist remark because aguy I was having I was with over
(25:41):
the weekend, I'm a friend ofmine. They said, Kamala's laugh annoys
me. Remember they said that aboutHillary's laugh, that she was cackling,
and men you know, they don'tlike a funny woman. We're afraid if
you laugh or you make a jokethat maybe you'll do that when they're in
bed with you. Not an imageof anyone one needs. At six forty
(26:02):
two in the morning, is JoyBehart talking about being in bed with a
guy and laughing? Not an image. I don't know about you. I
love funny women. My wife isone of the funniest people I know.
Funny women are sexy. Kamala's notfunny, She's frightening. Kamala. I
(26:23):
do believe that Kamala Harrison, theword salads that she serves are are going
to be regular, regular subject ifshe becomes the nominee. If she becomes
the nominee for the Democratic Party,I guarantee you we are going to be
reaching into the files and saying, hey, I need my Kamala Harris word
(26:48):
salad files, because you could goback over the past three years and there
are just a mountain of dumb thingsshe said, For example, Kamala's word
salad on the prison system, whatwe need to do to reform the criminal
justice system, which is something I'vebeen working on my entire career, as
you know, and that is aboutrestructuring and thinking restructure how we think about
(27:11):
what causes people to enter the system. Crime is what causes people to enter
the system. But maybe you've gotclearer vision on water policy. I love
water policy. I confess I ama water policy geek. I think it's
so important, right, Like wecould just geek out right here, the
three of us, right, weagree that it is an essential component to
(27:36):
life, and we also agree itis precious vapid. That's another word I'll
use to describe Kamala. But whenshe's on message, as she has been
since the debate, I think she'sa creature who senses the opportunity and is
standing at the ready in case Joesteps aside, and do not underestimate her
(28:04):
ability in front of a microphone.I think she's just not been ready because
she didn't need to be. Let'sface it, Vice President, even though
you're supposed to be ready. Ifyour boss is in reasonable shape and not
in any danger of losing their job, are you really going to get up
with the same kind of pressure?I mean, the president has the President's
(28:26):
daily briefing, where he's told aboutall the problems around the world and the
dangers and the terrorists, etc.The Vice President only has that briefing when
they are invited, so it's kindof interesting to see how Kamala has turned
it up a notch. And Iwould not write her off as a lightweight
(28:48):
because she can speak and we're notused to seeing that in a Democrat candidate.
I have so much more to getto from. Yesterday's a big event.
I didn't play it, but everybody'stalking about Joe Biden introducing Volodomir Zolensky
as Vladimir Putin and this happened beforethe press event. This was the press
(29:14):
event before the press event, whichis kind of weird. They had a
NATO gathering and Joe Biden was latefor that too. There is ample footage
of the Italian Prime Minister, GeorgiaMaloney, who is really getting tired of
Joe Biden. She was tired ofhim at the G seven when she hosted
it, but there are several shotsof her rolling her eyes looking at her
(29:37):
watch because Biden was late, late, late, late, late, late,
late, late late, and thenwhen he finally did show up,
he is really pushing NATO to bringUkraine into the fold, so Zelenski gets
the royal treatment. It's like afraternity rush party where they've got one person
(29:57):
they're trying to put the heav berush on, and for Biden it's Zelensky.
And uh, this moment happened justthis is really very close to the
big boy presser last night, andthis may have set the table for the
presser. And now I want tohand over to the President of Ukraine,
(30:18):
who has as much courage as hehas determination ladies, Gahn, President Putin,
President Pruden. You've got big PresidentPrus, President Lensky. I'm so
focused on being putin. We gottaworry about it anyway, it's President you
are a hell the best part aboutthat, And then Bun corrected himself,
(30:44):
but that's a pretty big blunder tointroduce Zelenski as President Putin. And then
he was walking away. He gota full step and a half away from
the podium before he turned around andwent, whoa hold on a second president,
President the President of Yeah, you'rea whole lot better. Yeah.
The best part of that is thesplit screen that shows the faces of Biden's
(31:08):
team, Secretary of State Blincoln, the Joint Chief Staff sitting there and their
faces are like, did he justyes, he did? That was unbelievable.
Yeah. And then in the presser, Joe had a crutch. As
(31:32):
I mentioned, he had a crutchwhere he kept saying the word anyway.
That's his transition sound. That's theword he uses to kind of pivot when
he gets lost in a sentence. It happened a lot last night. In
fifty eight minutes, I think ithappened at least nine times. Look,
folks, this is well. Anyway, the next debate, I'm not going
(31:53):
to be traveling in the fifteen timezones a week before anyway from my wife
anyway, it wasn't about just anyway, read what he's an objective it is
and anyway, and they're better thana lot of other people here too.
But anyway, we just move thingsalong anyway in Wisconsin to North Carolina anyway,
(32:19):
anyway, anyway, anyway. Now, we all have these crutches we
use when we speak for a living, but in the President it's more pronounced
because it usually signals either he's offthe rails on the prepared remarks he was
supposed to make, or he's losthis place, or he doesn't know where
(32:42):
he was going. All of thoseare concerning concerning to staff and should be
concerning to us as citizens. Ihave an update on how many Democrats have
now called for Joe Biden to stepaside. The running count is growing.
The event last night did not changeas many minds as I think the White
(33:06):
House or the Democrat leadership was opening, hoping opening, hoping it would.
We'll get into that, and Ihave a crazy story you have to share
with you. It's Michael Pelka. That's me. I'm sitting in for Justin
Barklay all week which ends today, but we're still celebrating Friday on Newstalk Superstation
nine ten am. It is sixpoint fifty four. If you have to
(33:30):
be somewhere by seven o'clock, youbetter get move in. It's Michael Pelka
in for Justin Barclay Friday, LouiaTya. We're celebrating the weekend has arrived.
We're covering the last night's big pressevent. But I was listening to
Robin Hoffman in the news there whenshe was talking about the Wolverine Queen Governor
(33:50):
Whitmer on Colbert and there was areally interesting moment that happened in the interview
on Colbert, And isn't the timinginteresting, the timing of the very thin
book that you put out, thetiming of her showing up on network TV
shows that are often so just darnfriendly to Democrats and so anti Republicans.
(34:15):
But check out this a little backand forth about the debate, which was
two weeks ago. Last night, the debate is still what you know,
everybody is talking about. What whatdebate? Did you not get a chance
to catch it? Did you not? Did you watch the debate? I've
seen clips of the debate. Youdidn't watch the debate. Now, first
(34:37):
of all, you didn't watch thedebate. You didn't watch the debate?
Hmmm? Does that mean they've alreadywritten Joe off? I just wonder.
I just think this is amazing. So why didn't you watch the debate?
What was more important than the debate? Actually out on the West Coast with
(35:00):
a couple of my colleagues out there, for god, they don't have television,
she was taking money from donors fundraisinghmm California, Yeah, exactly sure.
What was what was your reaction?Did you were you just like,
you know what, stay of thecourse doesn't matter? Full speed ahead,
Joe or did you give you pauseat all? Like your tie? So
(35:29):
Colbert reached out and shook her hand. I like your tie. And then
last night I don't have the clipr any now, but last night,
uh Whitmer was on with CNN AbbyPhilip encouraging Joe Biden to take a cognitive
test and also say that Trump shouldtake one. Hmm. Someone maybe waiting
(35:55):
in the wings for another primary. The blitz pria is they're calling it,
we'll see what happens with Kamala Andwould the Democrats put a two female candidate
ticket up? I wonder we shouldtalk about that. If you have a
thought, you're welcome at any timeto eight hundred talk. I promised you.
The live tracker on the Democrats callingfor Biden to leave the race and
(36:20):
maybe even leave office, we hadsome new names added to the list now
twenty one elected Democrats who are inCongress, or governors or lieutenant governors who
called for him to drop out ofthe race yesterday, picking up one,
two, three, four, five, six, seven. As of yesterday,
seven more elected Democrats are saying,Joe, you got to go.
(36:49):
We'll see what happens today. Becausethe big rumor of the day is that
Barack Obama and Nancy Pelosi have beenmeeting privately, I guess in some sort
of villain like presidential layer. Maybethat's what Obama's DC mansion looks like,
like a Bond villain's lair, andtalking about how they get rid of Joe.
(37:10):
We'll talk about that. But EJand Tony from Heritage joins us to
talk about the economy and what's reallygoing on. We'll do that next on
the Justin Barclay Show. And herewe go seven o'clock hour in full effect,
seven oh six Detroit, Micah o'pelkain for my friend Justin Barclay all
(37:30):
week this week, celebrating the weekendFriday. Loujah tuya, boy, oh
boy, what a consequential last twentyfour hours we've had. Not only did
we witness the big Boy presser, which I was breaking down earlier. We'll
get back to that, we'll talkmore about that. I want to mention
some of the things that were saidin that presser with our next guest.
(37:51):
But yesterday we also got numbers. We got some numbers that rolled at about
eight thirty Eastern the consumer index, and there were little fireworks going off on
some screen saying, hey, inflation'sdown one ten to one percent, and
I'm thinking, well, then whyis everything still a lot more expensive?
(38:14):
And it helps to know somebody whoknows how to look at the numbers,
how to look at the data weget from the government when it comes to
things like inflation, employment, governmentdebt, et cetera. And that person
in my world is EJN. Tony, Doctor e j An Tony, the
economists, economists. I'm having atough time today from the Heritage Foundation and
(38:39):
wherever I am. He is theofficial economist on the radio for me,
ej and TONI thank you for beinghere today. Hey, Mike, my
pleasure. Thank you for having me. I know you're in high demand,
especially after a day like yesterday whenwe see that inflation is down, so
all the problems are solved with theeconom to be right, we can all
(39:00):
relax. Well that's the talking pointout of the White House, and you
know all they're syco fans in themainstream media. But my goodness, does
anyone actually believe this anymore? Idon't think so personally when I talk to
folks, you know, no onebelieves it because it's just not it doesn't
match their experience, Mike, Rightat the end of the day, they
have to live, eat, andbreathe this stuff in real life, and
(39:23):
then they see these biz headlines andscratch their head and wonder are they talking
about a different country or something here. And part of the reason for that
is because you know, the Bureauof Labor statistic that they're really putting the
bs and bls these days, thatthe way they calculate some of these numbers
is just so ridiculous. For example, you know, when they look at
(39:44):
health insurance, according to them, health insurance premiums have been going down,
not up. I can't find literallyanyone in my life whose health insurance premiums
have been going down, But accordingto the official statisticians, that's what's happening
out there. You know, whenthey look at something like the cost to
own a home, according to them, it's only up about twenty percent in
(40:06):
the last three and a half years. But if you actually look at real
world home prices and you look atinterest rates, find that people are paying
over one hundred and ten percent moretoday for the same house as compared to
three and a half years ago.So a lot of their metrics that they're
using are simply way off. Andthat's putting it charitably. And EJ.
(40:28):
I know you're with heritage, Butmy question to some of the journalists out
there is do you have no integrity? Are none of the financial outlets calling
out all of the government statistics thatare being foisted upon us? Is there
anyone out there who's other than you, who's accurately reporting on the questionable nature
(40:50):
of all these reports, of allthese claims. Oh goodness, you know,
Mike, it's hard to find anybody. And part of that is not
simply because the mainstream media is filledwith dishonest people, which it is,
but even among the honest folks,a lot of them, unfortunately, just
have no idea what they're doing. You're talking about a bunch of journalism majors
who have never taken a course ineconomics, for example, have never opened
(41:14):
a book on economics, and they'rebeing asked by their boss to write a
story in the business news about areport that they can't understand. So we
have to have at least a littlebit of spathy for some of these folks,
because not all of them are Ithink are ill intentioned. Some of
them, unfortunately, are just illequipped. Yeah, I get that,
and that's a really interesting point. The financial outlets don't necessarily have economists like
(41:37):
yourself or people who've studied economics doingthe reporting. They have people who are
more teleigenic than they are intelligent, and that can be a problem when you're
trying to work on data like this. Now, we're constantly being told EJ.
That the energy prices are going down, especially at the pump. Didn't
(41:58):
we kind of rig that by dumpinga lot of our strategic reserves gasoline and
the unrefined petroleum into the marketplace. That's right, Mike. Not only did
we dump hundreds of thousands, actuallyhundreds of millions of barrels out of the
strategic Petroleum reserve, which is crudeoil, but also we're dumping refined gasoline
(42:20):
out of the Northeast reserve as well. And so you put these things together,
and it's obviously going to increase supply, which is going to decrease price.
The problem is these things are finiteresources and not going to last forever.
And I'm not talking about coal, oil, natural gas here. I'm
talking about simply the reserve, thestockpile. If you're not producing enough of
(42:42):
this stuff to measure it with howmuch you're using, then you're going to
use up your reserve. It's goingto run out, and sadly, that's
the track we're headed on. Sothis is basically just a temporary decrease in
the price, and what goes downmust come up. I guess you could
say in that temporarily decrease, seeingthe price today is going to cause it
to rise reck to where it wastomorrow. Yeah, that's a big concern.
(43:06):
And the timing on it is suspect, of course, is we're one
hundred and fifteen days out from anelection, and you can suddenly use a
drop in gas prices as an advantageif you're the one in charge. But
the future is worrisome. And speakingof the future, EJ, we seem
to have a debt cloud or maybea debt bomb looming over the country.
(43:30):
We owe a lot of people alot of money, and even though we're
taking in a lot of tax revenue, we seem to be losing ground.
Is our debt getting close to beinga serious problem for our economy? Mike,
I'm not sure it's so much becominga serious problem, as it already
is quite frankly, I mean, the debt is pushing thirty five trillion dollars,
(43:53):
and more importantly, the cost tofinance the debt has absolutely exploded.
You're going to buy a house, you don't so much care about just the
press of the home. What you'rereally focused on is the monthly payment,
because that's what you need to fitinto your budget. And that's you have
to consider other things like the interestrate. You know, your insurance costs,
(44:15):
you know, other other factors. But when we look at the tust
to actually service the debt, inother words, the interest on the debt,
we just got data yesterday showing ithit a record one hundred and forty
billion dollars just for the month ofJune, a single month. In other
words, it took about three quarters, just over three quarters, of all
(44:37):
personal income taxes to pay for that. So look at paste them for the
month of June and realize that threequarters of your federal income taxes that you
paid didn't go to things like buildingroads, images, or building hospitals and
schools, or paying for the militaryor the Social Security none of that.
It went to just pay interest onthe debt. I mean, it's difficult
(44:59):
to under to I guess overseell here, Mike, how much this is spiraling
out of control? And right nowat one hundred and forty billion in a
month, that puts US well overa trillion and a half on an annualized
basis, that's stunning, exactly exactly. You know, this is up more
(45:20):
than thirty percent from the same timelast year. I mean again, this
is very quickly spiraling out of control. And the reason I say that is
because if you have all of thisinterest on the debt, right you can't
afford your expenses to begin with.So now any interest on the debt is
simply something else you have to finance. In other words, you're issuing debt
(45:43):
to pay for the interest on theold debt, and that new debt now
gets rolled over into the ever growingdebt, and so you're now going to
have an even larger interest expense, and you can very quickly see how that
becomes a down spiral, so tothe average. More on in economics like
me, I guess this is seventypercent of my income is being used to
(46:09):
pay the minimum payment on my creditcards, which is gonna then cause me
stress. I won't be able toafford as much food. I won't be
able to turn my air conditioner ascold as I want because that'll drive my
electricity bills up. I don't knowif I'll be able to make my car
payment. I don't know if I'llbe able to buy food at the grocery
(46:30):
store. Is that kind of wherethis is based on compared to an individual,
No, Mike, You're you're spoton here. The closest example that
you can that you can use forpersonal finance is credit card debt. Right,
we have racked up so much creditcard debt. We've actually racked up
more credit card debt than we makein a year. So it's like a
(46:52):
family that earns, let's say, hundred thousand dollars, racking up one hundred
and thirty thousand dollars in credit carddebt. And now the interest payments alone
on that credit card debt, forgetpaying down the principle we're just talking interest
payments here are so big that they'reforcing the family to cut back on all
of the things you just mentioned,Mike, And so that's those are the
(47:15):
constraints that the federal government is facingin the very near future. And I've
heard a lot of people especially onthe political left, but also sometimes on
the right, like Senator Hawley talkabout well, why don't we just raise
taxes, right, especially on theranch in corporations and blah blah blah.
Right, they have all these economicboogeymen, if you will. The problem
is that no matter how much youraise tax rates, there is only a
(47:37):
certain amount of tax revenue you canactually squeeze out of a private economy.
And after that people start changing theireconomic behavior and essentially they adapt to those
higher tax rates and you don't actuallyget as much tax revenue as you thought
you would have it cap out atabout twenty percent of the economy. Well
(47:58):
guess what, we're basically there rightnow, and so you're not actually going
to get more tax revenue. Soit's not a revenue problem. It is
a spending problem. We are spendingmore today than we ever have for it,
and frankly, we have a lotless to show for it. We
have to get the spending down andthat is the best answer to all of
(48:19):
these problems. We're talking with EJand Tony. He is a great economist
out of the Heritage Foundation. Iwould love for you to follow EJ on
Twitter X at real EJ and Tony. He breaks it down. We got
a lot of money coming in throughyour taxes and my taxes at the IRS,
and the biggest problem we have iswe're just spending too much and we're
(48:43):
building up too much United States Governmentcredit card debt and we don't have the
income coming in, and eventually that'sgoing to crush us. So hopefully we'll
get some common sense in DC verysoon. And I don't know one hundred
and fifteen days or so, EJand Tony, I appreciate you for trying
to break it down and help meunderstand it, my friend, and I
(49:06):
hope I can pull on your sleeveagain in the future anytime, Mike.
It's always a pleasure, Thank you, sir. There he goes really interesting
if you follow EJ, and youshould. He posts the graphs and then
explains him and that always helps mebecause I never got an economics course in
my college career. I mean Iwas offered one, but I chose broadcasting
(49:30):
classes and other classes, but neverthe economics. And this really is an
important part. If you compare whatthe federal government does to households, it
kind of makes sense. And ifyour household as EJ said, makes one
hundred thousand dollars. Put your creditcard bills and all your home expenses are
one hundred and thirty thousand dollars. You're going to be digging yourself into a
(49:52):
hole. Well that's what we've done. We're thirty five trillion. And I
know a lot of people on theleft are saying, well, Donald be
added to the debt. Yes hedid, but we didn't have to pile
on and keep growing it. AndI also want to throw in that old
pandemic thing that everybody needs to remember. We had this thing called a pandemic
(50:14):
and that kind of screwed up everything. Yeah, we didn't react to it
as best as we could, butwe had no idea. That's for another
day, another discussion. Each jAntony just a great brain in the world
of economics and helping us understand it. And when Joe Biden says we just
got to get those people to paytheir fair share, look at the breakouts
(50:37):
of how much money is paid intothe tax base by the top two percent
and then look at what the bottomfifty percent pay. Do we want to
talk about fair share? There's awhole chunk of people that don't pay a
dime. I think everybody's got tohave a little bit of skin in the
(50:58):
game. If you're gonna get thebenefits of America, you should have a
little bit to throw into the potto help out, even if it's five
percent something for the effort. It'stwenty minutes after seven o'clock. It's Michael
Pelka, still more to go fromlast night's presser, a couple other surprises
from Governor Whitmer. Biden's in townand it's gonna cause what we call Joe
(51:22):
Jams, so be ready and myfriend Tony Schaeffer around the corner. It
is Opelka in for Barkley on TheBeautiful Superstation nine ten am. It is
seven to twenty four Michae o'pelka infor Justin Barclay on The Justin Barclay Show.
(51:43):
I've been having a lot of funthis week, maybe too much fun,
but I don't know if that conditionexists. Outside of the politics.
There are some other interesting stories. And I'm not a person who smokes.
I may have tried smoking when Iwas a kid. It didn't stick with
me. I just never got intoit. I may have enjoyed a few
(52:07):
cigars back in the eighties and ninetieswhile playing golf. But I don't have
a nicotine habit. But I knowa lot of people who do, and
people use the vaping trying to getoff it. People use patches, etc.
But I've heard a lot of peopletalking about something called zen Zyn.
(52:30):
These are nicotine pouches. I havefriends in the media who use it.
I don't. I've never even triedit, and I don't have an inkling
to try it. But if youhave a nicotine addiction, is this the
answer. There's a story out todaythat says that you might want to reconsider.
(52:53):
You might want to reconsider that ifyou're using something like zen you should
talk to your doctor. You shouldalways talk to your doctor. It's a
no guilt zone. Whenever you sitdown with your doctor, ask him any
questions you want. But there arepeople that are saying, well, I
have now I have gastrol and testinalproblems because I'm using these pouches. There
(53:17):
is a report on NBC News quotinga doctor named Donna Shelley, a professor
and dean for Research at New YorkUniversity ny USE Global Health Public Health Institute,
says, you know they contain tobacco, but I wouldn't necessarily call them
safe. The doctor says. Someof the negative health effects of the nicotine
(53:40):
pouches include the gastrointestinal symptoms, nausea, gum soreness, cardiovascular risks like elevated
heart rate, and we don't knowthe full safety profile yet, so there
are studies coming out of this stuff. But if you are using it,
and uh, you were finding you'reusing it a lot, you might want
(54:05):
to make sure you bring it upwith your doctor, especially if you're noticing
your gum tissue having problems. Causeyou know, you don't need to floss
all of your teeth, just theones you want to keep, is the
adage, and you might want todo that if you if you get a
kick from this stuff. I'd loveto talk to somebody who who uses ZIN
(54:28):
Andrew, are you a ZIN user? Do you know someone who uses these
little packets? I don't, butI know a ton of people who do.
And I mean for most people, they swear by them because they were
vapors or even cigarette users, andthey have helped their cravings. And yet
when I know they don't give youlike brain lip, like chewing, like
(54:50):
chew does, but I don't know. I've tried one once because I was
like, all right, screw it, I'll do anything once and it just
made my stomach feel bad. I'mlike, this isn't fun, this is
not enjoyable, this isn't fun.Yeah, come on, it's the Zimbabwe
And I'm like, no, oh, I'm sure they all kinds of terms
(55:12):
for it. But the interesting thingis that, look, we have we
have a nicotine in our lives, and it appears to be deeply entrenched in
the lives of so many people. And we know that tobacco not necessarily helpful,
especially if you're burning it and thensucking in all the tar and nicotine
from the tobacco. And then vapingcame along and we started figuring out,
(55:35):
well, maybe that's not as safeas we were initially told, especially for
kids. And now this zin popsup and we're starting to get some interesting
medical information, and they're also sayingthat with the numbers of kids teenagers using
it, we have to make surewe know everything about it because it's being
(55:58):
marketed to kids. It's being marketedas a safe, healthy, cool thing
to do, and I'm worried aboutit. But I encourage people. I'll
point all post a link to thisstory, because I think this is an
interesting thing. The FDA is rightnow in the process of reviewing the marketing
applications of Zen and other nicotine pouches, because they're not the only company,
(56:22):
and they've allowed them to be soldin the US in the meantime, but
multiple medical organizations are asking them topull them from the market for a review
period. But big tobacco money isstanding up, going, hey, wait
a minute, we can make alot of money here. Don't step on
(56:43):
this just yet. I'm very concernedabout it. I think it'd be smart
for us to be smart for ourselvesabout it. Check it out before you
start using it, and talk toyour doctor, would you. All right,
My buddy Tony Schaeffer, he's atNewsmax PA. Perhaps you've seen him.
He comes out of the intelligence world. We're gonna talk to him.
Just around the corner. It's Opelkain for Barkley on the news Talk Superstition
(57:09):
nine ten am. It's seven thirtyfive on a Friday morning, Friday.
Loulia Tula, Michael Opelka in forJustin Barklay. Been here all week,
Justin returns on Monday, just asthe RNC is kicking off, and I'm
sure it's going to be an incredibleweek. But we've had a crazy twenty
(57:30):
four hours. We had the BigBoy presser last night. We have all
kinds of madness happening halfway around theworld. China's sending a whole bunch of
fighter jets real close to Taiwan.Russia's meeting with everybody that'll come meet with
him, Bear hugging the Indian PrimeMinister. We've got all kinds of stuff
(57:51):
happening. And Joe Biden thinks thatDonald Trump is his vice president. So
the best person to have this discussionwith is one of my friends who's also
If you're a Newsmax watcher, andwhy wouldn't you be, He's on Newsmax
all the time. His name isTony Schaeffer, and he is a guy
with some skills in the intel world, New York Times bestselling author and all
(58:15):
around good man. Tony. Welcome, my friend. I'm Michael. Great
to be with you. I wantto announce that I'm also going to be
joined the Biden administration as his SecretaryOffense. So if Trump is his vice
president, I want to be asect deaf to say, wow, I
would love a SECTF Schaeffer. Iwould, And I'd love to be your
(58:37):
spokesperson. I'd love to be yourcomms guy on that one. That would
be a good time, good time. Well, now, what was more
egregious last night in the Big Boypresser? Was it misidentifying Trump as the
VP or misgendering him? Well,a little bit of both. I think
(59:00):
the worst thing, literally was beforethe presser was the mistake of calling uh,
you know, President Zelensky president Putin. I mean, there is just
no way to rub that out,so to speak, because you know everybody
was looking with great anticipation to theand by the way, Michael, who
(59:22):
who refers to something as a bigboy presser? I mean, just the
very title is derisive, and yetthey went with it. So I'm in
awe And I've said this before withyou, and I'll say it again for
the audience here. This is likeone long Saturday night life skit, except
you know, the stake's here realand the people playing it are are are
(59:45):
just are actually insane, and Ithink it was on full displaint last night.
So if you're looking at this Tonyfrom a global perspective, from an
international security and safe the perspective, starting with the the misidentification of Zelensky as
(01:00:05):
Putin and then moving into misidentifying yourown vice president as your political opponent.
What does the what does the worldthink of this, especially those folks like
the Putins and the President Sheese.Do they look at this and say,
oh, he just made a coupleof verbal mistakes, or is this a
bigger problem? You know they BodneI mean Bill notice and make fun of
(01:00:30):
it. I'm sure Putin is havinga hoot and natty this morning at the
Kremlin, but you point out correctlyhe's over Bear hugging the leader of India.
They're working with China, I meanBiden say this too, because I've
watched NBC's coverage of the post Apost A press conference and they were still
(01:00:51):
covering for Biden because it was sofunny and I'm going to circle back to
answer your question, but I gotto get to it. So last night
NBC was saying saying, oh,yeah, he had all these missteps,
but he was still very substant ifhe understood everything. No, he didn't.
He put together word salads of theRussian strategy and all this other stuff.
(01:01:13):
And that's what the other folks see, Mike. It's not about the
US media and how they interpret it. The other folks know he's not there.
And so this last night just reinforceswhat they're doing. They're doing things
to do to bricks. Plus they'reactually having Chinese soldiers exercising in Europe with
Russia and other nations are going into do this. I mean, come
(01:01:36):
on, that the world has literallymoved on past Joe Biden and Joe Biden
is that hobbled to not even recognize, like, yeah, they've moved on.
They're doing other things to act strategically, while you literally pretend somehow that
John Stoltenberg deserves the Presidential Medal ofFreedom for losing more territory to Russia than
(01:01:59):
than any other time I think aboutthat, Ike, over the past ten
years, Russia has gained more territorythan ever before, and yet Stoltenberg is
supposed to be lauded for like runningNATO. Are you kidding me? That's
how bad it is, though, but Tony, I kind of expect that
from the party that supports the trophy. Everybody gets the trophy generation. You
(01:02:23):
know, you show up in Americafor the NATO summit that is uniquely timed
one hundred and fifteen days out froma presidential election, and there are going
to be goodie bags, just likeat the Oscars. I'm surprised we haven't
heard that there was a goodie bagroom for all the NATO people, and
there probably was, so, youknow, Mike, there was a goodie
(01:02:45):
tank. They all got tanks totake home with them. That's why you
didn't see them. They're all inthe garage. They're all running around somewhere
right now in the field and theirnew m one Abrams tanks, enjoying life.
All the leaders. That's what I'msaying. Sadly, that is probably
very true. We're talking with TonySchaeffer. He's a buddy mine. He
keeps his eyes on all things, especially as we're related to intel in America
(01:03:08):
and security, and you see himon Newsmax all the time. I get
to talk to Tony at least oncea week about stuff like this. Tony.
Outside of yesterday's big Boy presser, which I still can't believe we were
calling it that, but then theWhite House kind of started it. Outside
of that, and you correctly identifiedthat the foreign leaders don't look at it
(01:03:31):
through the prism of our media. They're watching it through their own media,
which has less of a spin toit. Is that a correct assumption.
Yeah, So, Peter Deucy evensaid this, One of the things notable
is that the moment, the momentthat Biden misidentifies Zelenski has proutent the foreign
media. We're literally running out thedoor to go report this, and Steve
(01:03:54):
Peter Deucy reported this on Fox yesterdayaccurately. It's like, it's not about
what we say or do in theUS media. The forid media is here
and they're witnessing his first hand. And for some of the foreign media,
it's like this is the first timeI've seen it, because they were essentially
kind of taken, you know,at face value what the US mainstream media
(01:04:14):
was saying. So this is awake up call. And I was actually
talking about one of my colleagues talkingabout this with one of my colleagues this
morning. The American people also havebeen kind of held hostage to the US
mainstream media. They would do summariesand snippets of Biden's talking and so recently
most people weren't paying that close attentionto recognize that it's bad, as we've
(01:04:38):
been saying since twenty nineteen. Imean, Mike, I did editorial saying
that Joe Biden was not adequately equippedto be commander in chief back when I
was part of the Trump twenty twentyteam. So I think that the foreign
media now, no matter what theysay next, no matter how big,
how big the big boy pants are, nobody buys it at this point.
(01:05:00):
Boy, that's a that's a chillingrealization. And I wonder if that's what
the discussion is between Barack Obama andNancy Pelosi. Much whispered about possible meetings.
Do you have a timeline, TonySchaeffer on where and when this could
go down for Joe Biden. Ididn't think the Democrats were going to let
(01:05:20):
Biden or force Biden out until afterthe Republican Convention because would give the GOP
just too much ammunition and too manytargets at at close range. Do you
think that timing is accurate or doyou have a different timeline? No,
I think this is an I'm nota Democrat, obviously, so I have
(01:05:42):
a brain, so I have tobe careful because I can't think like a
Democrat, but I'll do my best. So I think might to minimize disruption
because obviously this will be this willhave seismic results no matter what happens.
The moment that the rumor is outthat they're going to replace Biden, Biden's
(01:06:02):
got to go. He can't.He can't stay as president because if he's
not adequately equipped to be the candidate, he can't be the president that and
there, and everybody's going to knowthat, especially foreign leaders. So what
they got to do is do atrooper. They're going to have to remove
this candidate and remove his president, and that, my friend, is the
key. How will they do that? And I think they're going to put
(01:06:26):
Kamala. I think they're going withtheir best Kamala. Can I say that.
I just like to say that they'regonna they're gonna put their best Kamala
forward and make her make her president. I think that's what they're going to
do. And I think they're goingto do that sometime in the next month.
So if they decided dumb Biden,so once it's Biden out as candidate,
he has to leave his president becauseif you can't be candidate, you
(01:06:47):
obviously don't have the skills to bepresident. I mean's Kamala becomes president,
Democrats check a box, first femalepresident of color, and they give her
a couple of months to practice.Do they make it the candidate Tony and
if so, who's a running mate? They do? And I think they're
going to go with the mister harehelmet Gavin Newsom as is the VP because
(01:07:11):
they are the party of you know, can I guess I can say they're
kind of the party is you know, the Democrats have a racist pass.
I don't think it's completely gone,just saying, and I think they're going
to want a white guy in there, you know, to balance the ticket.
I think that's what they're going todo. Well. I agree with
you on Kamala, Harris, andwe're gonna have to bet a bourbon on
this eventually when we get together sometime. I agree with Kamala. I disagree
(01:07:34):
on the VP. I don't thinkthey can put two California creatures in there,
just from it's not a constitutional thing. They can fix that. I
believe they're gonna go from somebody fromthe East Coast, whether it's Shapiro,
they're rising star or maybe Governor WesMoore of Maryland, who is another rising
(01:07:58):
star in the GEO in the Democratpart of you checks a box a box,
so I'll see your Kamala, butI'll raise you a Shapiro in the
VP slot to start. I disagreewith you. I think your thinking is
very lucid. But I think that'sgoing to be the battle in their own
party, Mike. It's going tobe between kind of checking a box and
(01:08:19):
balancing the ticket. I think they'regoing to have that, Alumba, but
I think I think they're going tohave the internal debate. But I don't
think they have any choice at thispoint but to go go with go with
Miss Cackle's. You know, it'sfrightening, it's frighting. Well, two
things circle the Day Today July twelve, Tony Schaeffer said, my thinking was
lucid and uh. I also wantto know where can people find you today,
(01:08:44):
Tony, because you're always all overthe place on TV. Where are
you going to go? Well,if they want to hear more of by
my analysis, I'm hosting this morningfrom nine to ten on Rumble, Wake
Up Patriots. That's at Henry's show, but that is off doing newsback stuff
right now. So Fridays and Mondays, I jumped into to host that for
him, and so tonight I'm todayfrom nine to tenth intune in live.
(01:09:06):
We have we have a very livelychat so people can jump in and then
I'm scheduled later today beyond with ChrisAlsado at four at fourth thirty. I
think on Newsmax to talk about whatwe're talking about, only I'll be on
TV. You know, I haveto like work clothes and everything. I'm
like now I'm actually wearing, youknow, shorts and a T shirt,
(01:09:27):
so I have to, you know, dress up a little bit. Well,
it is casual Friday. Here FridayLoujau two. We always say say
hello to my friend Ed Henry andsay hello to my old friend Chris Salcedo,
Tony Schaeffer. I always appreciate you, my friend. Thank you,
sir. Take care there he goes. I told you he had a great
insight on it. And if youwant to know more about Tony and what
he's doing, he is the CEOof president of something called Projects Sentinel Project
(01:09:55):
Sentinel dot com. He is avery very smart and somebody I respect greatly
and usually when I'm on the radio, Tony comes in to give me his
two, three, four or fivefifty cents on something. I think he's
right on Kamala, and I dobelieve the Democrats want to get that box
checked to get a the claim ofwe were the party that gave you the
(01:10:17):
first female president, the first femalepresident of color. We'll see and speak
of which the Democrats have always lookedfor those important firsts. We should do
the history lesson for today. Somebodywrote me and said, hey, I
like that this day in history youdid the other day. We will do
(01:10:39):
it just around the corner. Itis seven forty eight Michael Pelke in for
Justin Barclay on the Justin Barclay Show. There's seven fifty two on a Friday
morning, Friday, Louia to You. I wonder if Tony log can do
that song in concert anymore. FunkyCold Medina. There's a kind of a
(01:11:00):
crazy section in that song about asurprise with someone named Sheena who wasn't as
advertised. You know what I'm talkingabout. Sheena was a man. Yeah.
I don't know if Don Look's allowedto do that in concert anymore.
We are we're looking at a lotof things. I'm gonna do more of
(01:11:24):
a deep dive into last night's pressure. There are other headlines out there happening.
Donald Trump has asked a New Yorkjudge to toss the hush money conviction.
They call it a hush money casein the media. It was an
accounting case after the Supreme Court rulings, and I do think the immunity does
(01:11:47):
apply, but we'll see. Yesterdaywas supposed to be the sentencing date for
Donald Trump. Remember that he wassupposed to be sentence that's now moved until
Tember eighteenth, I believe. Andone of the one of the issues about
this is theoretically, Donald Trump isnot a convicted felon until he is sentenced,
(01:12:12):
and so if the media is callingDonald Trump a convicted felon, they
might be liable for some kind oflawsuit. And if you notice, many
in the mainstream media are dialing thatback. They're not referring to Donald Trump's
a convicted felon. So we'll seewhat happens on that. But that the
(01:12:34):
appeal from the Trump lawyers has beenfiled asking the judge to throw out this
whole case ahead of the September eighteenth, hearing it might just happen, which
wouldn't that be a gigantic waste ofmoney. I don't think that Judge is
going to do it, because let'sremember that Judge has a daughter who made
(01:12:56):
millions of dollars millions of dollars fromDemocrats who are campaigning and using Donald Trump's
name and smearing Trump. It's allabout money and a lot of these cases
I mentioned this day in history.I love looking back on what happened on
this day back in the day.So we're going to go through it because
(01:13:17):
there are a couple of interesting connectionsto history. In eighteen seventy three,
it apparently rained frogs in Kansas City, Missouri. They reported that frogs and
which usually means there was a stormthat squirled through and scooped up a bunch
of frogs out of a pond anddumped them down, and people went,
there's frogs in the sky. It'sin all the almanacs on the state.
(01:13:43):
In nineteen twenty seven, the JollyGreen Giant trademark was registered Ho Ho Ho
from the Valley of the Jolly Hoho Ho the Jolly Green Giant trademark,
so that became a protected image thatthe advertising could not be copied. And
that is one of the greatest thingsabout America, one of the greatest things
(01:14:03):
about our capitalist system. You canmake money using just your brain. You
can create a work of literature,a work of art, whether it's fiction
or whether it's a factual accounting. You can write a book and you can
sell it, and you can createand trademark images, copyright, trademarks,
(01:14:27):
all of this stuff protected stuff,so you don't have to go out and
build something other than what you buildwith your mind. Jolly Green Giant trademarked
on this date in nineteen twenty seven. In nineteen fifty seven, the Surgeon
General announced that there was a crediblelink between smoking and lung cancer. So
(01:14:47):
we've known about this for sixty sevenyears. We have known about the link
between smoking and lung cancer for sixtyseven years. And while smoking is down
considerably in this country, very happyto see declining numbers, we're still fighting
it, aren't we And it's agigantic weight on our health system. So
(01:15:13):
I hope anybody who's fighting nicotine addictiongets a way to get away from it.
On this date, in nineteen seventysix, survey says, Family Feud.
The game show Family Feud. I'mnot a big game show watcher other
than Jeopardy. Family Feud debuted onABCTV. Richard Dawson from Hogan's Heroes was
the host, and he was thehost that kissed all the women, and
(01:15:34):
he was the host that I havea great inside story about. Richard Dawson
thought he was a chess genius andhe would not come out to do the
taping of the show until he hadwon a chess match. So the network
actually hired somebody to lose chess matchesagainst Richard Dawson to get him out on
(01:15:58):
the stage in a very positive attitude. True story. I have it from
a very close inside source, andit was on this night in nineteen seventy
night, Disco Demolition Night at KimiskiPark went horribly wrong. The White Sox
actually had to forfeit a game becausefans rioted when they blew up a bunch
of disco singles in center field. It was a crazy night, and I
(01:16:24):
remembered because the the ap wire wasgoing off the rails. I was on
the air on a college radio stationwhen it happened. Disco Destruction Night on
this date back in nineteen. Whatwas that seventy nine? Yeah, it's
Michael Pelker wrapping up the second hour. It's Yes the News Talk Superstation nine
(01:16:45):
ten am. It is Friday.Patch yourself on the back. You made
it to the weekend. I know, I know you might have to go
to work, but you got It'seight oh six on a Friday. Micah
o'pelka my name. One more hoursitting in for my friend Justin Barklay and
(01:17:09):
the Justin Barclay Show. He returnsMonday, so calm yourself. He'll be
back. He will be back.Much to get to in this final hour
of the show. Thanks for beinghere. We appreciate it. If you
have a thought on yesterday's presser, the big boy presser that we all witnessed,
or you listened because we carried ithere right here on Superstition nine ten
(01:17:31):
am last night, If you havethought, did did the president do enough
to comfort and calm the calls forhim to step aside? Or if you
think it's it's over, it's done, stick a fork in him and turn
him over. You're welcome to expressyour opinion. Two four eight eight hundred
(01:17:53):
Talk two four eight eight hundred talk. Any and all opinions are welcome.
They might not be agreed with, but they are welcome. We try to
have a conversation. One of thethings that came up last night in the
press event was the stamina of thepresident. Is this eighty one year old
(01:18:15):
man who will be eighty two bythe time the election rolls around, is
he up for it? Can hehandle a second ternament? Didn't he tell
us he was going to be atransitional president? Didn't he basically hint he
was going to be a one termer. Yeah, we threw that out the
window, didn't we. But hewas asked about it last night. What
did he say? Presidency is themost straining job in the world, and
(01:18:39):
it's twenty four to seven. Howcan you say you'll be up for that
next year, in two years andfour years given the limits you've acknowledged that
you have today. I would alsohave added, especially since George Stephanopoulos said
publicly that he doesn't think you canserve another four years, what do you
think pal the limits I have acknowledgedthey have. There's been reporting that you've
(01:19:03):
acknowledged that you need to go tobed earlier, and your evening around eight.
That's not true. Well, itis true, and we have confirmation
on it, but you can denyit. Continue. Look what I said
was instead of my every day startingat seven and going to bed at midnight,
(01:19:25):
it'd be smarter for me to pacemyself a little more. Does anyone
believe Joe Biden's up at seven amand goes to bed at midnight? Does
anyone believe? I don't? ThePresidential Daily Briefing is regularly scheduled at ten
am or later. The PDB,as it's known to the cool kids,
the Presidential Daily brief is usually thefirst thing the president gets every single morning.
(01:19:53):
So we're to believe that he's upat seven o'clock? What is he
doing? Triathlon training around the WhiteHouse? Is not walking the dog because
they can't keep a dog in theWhite House because they keep biting the Secret
Service agents. Who is he fooling? We've been told ten am to four
(01:20:14):
pm. That's when he's basically functional, ten am to four pm. And
then now he's trying to laugh itoff and say that I'm up from seven
am to midnight. Yeah, butmaybe I'm trying to pace myself. And
I said, for example, theeight seven six steps. Instead of starting
a fundraiser at nine o'clock, startat eight o'clock. People get to go
(01:20:38):
home by ten o'clock. That's whatI'm talking about. I'm not talking about.
And if you look at my schedulesince I've since I made that stupid
mistake in the campaign and the debate, which stupid mistake, sir? And
what makes you think there was onlyone just saying, I mean, my
schedule has been full bore. I'vedone. When where's Trump riding on his
(01:21:02):
golf cart film out his scorecard beforeit hits the ball again with the attempts
to insult Trump in his golf game. Trump responded to your invitation to play
golf by inviting you to play ina charity event and he would put up
a million dollars to whatever charity youwould like to give it to a million
(01:21:25):
dollars. And he was going toeven give you ten strokes aside. And
you said you're too busy. Butyou're the guy who put the challenge out
there first, mister, just sayingthey sent his schedules full board. Trump
had a rally that had tens ofthousands of people at it at Durrell last
weekend. Did you miss that,Joe? Was that something that skipped your
(01:21:47):
briefing? I mean, look,he's done virtually nothing, and I have
I don't know how many. Don'tholme me to. We've roughly twenty major
events, some of them with thousandsof people showing up, and so I
just think it's better. I alwayshave an inclination, whether I was playing
(01:22:11):
sports or doing politics, just tokeep going. I saw, I just
got to just pace myself a littlemore. So you're doing too much.
This is the president who wants usto know he's doing too much. Right,
you're kidding me. Pace myself andthe next debate, I'm not going
to be traveling in the fifteen timezones a week before fifteen time zones the
(01:22:38):
week before. Were you in fifteentime zones the week before the debate?
I don't think so. The weekbefore the debate you were not even in
a single different time zone. Theweek before the debate you were at Camp
David, Maryland, and then youwent to Georgia. They were in the
same time zone, sir, respectfully. And the week before that, well,
(01:23:01):
you were home for two weeks afteryou went to Italy, not fifteen
time zones and it wasn't the weekbefore more bravoci era anyway, That's what
it was about. This is aboutAnd by the way, even with that,
I love my staff, but theaddings add things all the time.
(01:23:27):
You're the president of the United Statesof America. You hold the most powerful
position in the world, you commandthe greatest fighting force on the planet.
And you're telling us that your staffis adding things to your schedule without your
permission. You're blaming your staff foryour brain farts and your tiredness and your
(01:23:53):
lack of ability to do the jobor debate properly. Wow, that's unbelievable.
That is onb believable. Oh boy, oh boy, o boy.
Yeah, that was last night. That was one of the questions last night
(01:24:14):
that the President had problems giving.Said. The one thing that always shows
up when Joe's getting tired, Andthis is one of those things that I
like to give you a hip tipon. One of the things that shows
up when the President of the UnitedStates is getting tired is getting to the
end of his his patience. Isthe creepy whisper. You know what I'm
(01:24:36):
talking about, the creepy whisper. And it happened right at the end,
and Cringe noticed it. Cringe onPierre noticed it because they weren't going to
let him go on past an hour. You know that, You know that
after the debate, which was ninetyminutes, and he failed that miserably,
and he failed early. But Ithink they knew that once they got near
(01:25:00):
an hour, they were pushing it, especially after they delayed this press conference
for two hours. This was atthe end and the creepy whisper came out.
You earlier explained confidence in your vicepresident. If your team came back
and showed you data that she wouldfare better against former President Donald Trump,
(01:25:24):
would you reconsider your decision to stayin the race. No, unless they
came back and said there's no wayyou could win me, don't say that.
No, po Thanks everybody. Yeah, Cringe jump here, Cringe has
(01:25:48):
to jump in this end. Isa nice press conference, Thanks everybody,
Thanks everybody. I gotta go,gotta go, gotta got out of here.
No, I'm saying that. Well. I looked over just now at
the the presidential election winner polling beingdone on the polymarket site, which is
(01:26:08):
a gambling site you can bet onit, and currently Donald Trump's sixty percent
favorite based on the people who areparticipating in this that's a pretty good gauge.
Kamala Harris sixteen percent, Joe Bidenfourteen percent. So Joe's losing on
that one. And you have aCBS polling, you have NBC polling,
(01:26:31):
you have polling from several outlets showingthat Kamala maybe a better choice. Kamala
would be more competitive. And thereare those that say if Kamala is in
there, that it would be evenworse. And Joe said something last night.
He claimed that he was more popularin Israel than Donald Trump. That's
(01:26:58):
what Joe Biden said last night, more popular with the Israelis. And I
looked at the latest polls from theJewish News, from the Cleveland Jewish News,
the latest polls, and I'm talkingthe latest as of this morning.
Donald Trumps at fifty five percent,Joe Biden is at thirty four percent.
(01:27:21):
That's a wipeout. That is acomplete wipeout. So where is the mainstream
media saying that last night the presidentlied during the press conference. Where's the
mainstream media standing up for truth?I would like to know, because it
(01:27:41):
certainly hasn't been showing up on myradar. I'm looking more popular than Trump
in Israel, losing by twenty onepoints. Anyway, I'm looking over at
all of the data that's now startingto roll in. It looks like it
was not a big win for theBiden campaign last night. It looks like
(01:28:04):
there are still Democrats standing up andsaying, I'm sorry, sir, you
have to go. And with theBiden campaign coming to town today, the
Biden campaign coming to Detroit to campaigntoday, he is saying the intensive stay
in the race. He's trying toshore up his support with unions. Again.
(01:28:27):
I wonder, I wonder, Iwonder, I wonder, I wonder
who is going to be there today, Who's going to be there to say
to the president, we're glad you'rehere. Because there are now reports that
there are many local politicians who aresaying no. For example, yesterday Hillary
(01:28:51):
Schulten out of Grand Rapids it's atoss up district. She became the first
state Democrat member of Congress to callfor Joe Biden to step down as the
nominee and keep to keep Trump fromwinning the election. The first one.
(01:29:11):
Interesting to see what that's going todo today. I guess that Hillary is
not going to be invited to meetthe President's plane when it lands at the
airport. You won't be on thetarmac in the reception line shaking hands with
the president. That's gonna happen today. We'll see, we'll see, we'll
(01:29:32):
get you'll get full reports on itlater in the day and obviously Monday,
when Justin returns. I'm stepping asideto take a break. I have some
more from last night, a coupleother issues I would like to talk about.
There was great news out of theSenate yesterday. There was a really
important moment in the United States Senateand it required a Democrat to stand up
(01:29:55):
and do the right thing. Andthen did you watch the SB Awards line
last night? I didn't either,But the Kansas City Chiefs kicker Harrison Butker
got dragged through the mud and hewasn't even there. So why I'll play
the clip for you. We cantalk about it, and you're welcome to
join the conversation as well. Itis two four eight eight hundred talks two
(01:30:20):
four eight eight hundred talk. It'sOpelka in just for this hour and then
Beck gets here. And then onMonday, Justin Returns on Superstation nine ten
am. It is eight twenty threeon a Friday, Friday. Louiah Tuya,
Mike Opelka is my name. Ithas been my absolute honor and pleasure
(01:30:43):
to be here. Justin Returns onMonday, Tanned, rested and ready.
Yeah, He'll be back. Iwas thinking about this, and I was
talking about this with my wife yesterday. What's going to happen to the media
people who have been all in onJoe Biden? And I'm talking about some
(01:31:10):
of the journalists, but some ofthe entertainment media. I'm used in air
quotes with my fingers. What's goingto happen to the entertainment media people who've
been saying Joe Biden's got to go? What are they going to say?
Like, what's Howard Stern going tosay? After he said that Joe Biden
is the father of the country andhe thanked him for it, remember that
(01:31:31):
we're lucky to have you in theOval office and serving as the father of
the country. Because if you're agood father to your family, which you
are, I know you'd be agood father to the country. And I
want to thank you for providing acalming influence. What is going to have
What is that guy gonna say tohis audience, I was wrong. I
didn't see it. I've avoided itall these years, because, let's face
(01:31:58):
it, it has in years thatthe decline of Joe Biden has been seen.
We've seen it, We've witnessed it. He stood in front of us
and just drifted off, I seea future of the planet. Yes,
yes, one of his climate discussions. Just it's amazing to me. What
(01:32:24):
is going to happen? And especiallylast night after the press conference, what
did the maidenstream media think about thepress conference? Well, there are going
to be a bunch of them thathave to stand up and say he's great,
he did fine, we love thisversion of Joe Biden. Where was
(01:32:45):
this version of Joe Biden? Seriously, after he called Zelenski putin, after
he called Kambala vice President Trump andthen misgendered Trump. The mainstream media last
night just a little bit of asample of some of the members of the
(01:33:06):
mainstream media and their response to thepresser. I haven't they had them doing
a lot more of these? Thatreally is about as comfortable as he's going
to get. There was the momentat the beginning where he said vice President
Trump instead of Vice President Harris. But he did have lengthy answers on subject
areas that he knows very well.Like It's fair to say there were obviously
(01:33:26):
some verbal missteps. There were someperiods of haltingness, but also periods of
genuinely impressive command in fluency. Heis not only strong on foreign policy,
he is just fundamentally right on foreignpolicy. So give some credit where credit
is due. It was a solidperformance except for one flood, well maybe
more than one flob and maybe healso didn't get asked the questions that he
(01:33:53):
should have gotten asked. We didnot have any real question about the competence
see issue. Really didn't get that, and I, for one, was
hoping that Peter Deucy would get calledupon. But this White House is so
terrified of having an actual question andanswer press conference that that did not happen.
(01:34:18):
That was not allowed to happen. The President had his list that had
the pictures, that had what webelieve are the questions on them ahead of
time, so we didn't get it. We did not get it. Last
night, we talked about how manytimes he said anyway, which he does,
(01:34:40):
which he does all the time.He also changed course on topics,
and one time it was within fiftyseconds, fifty seconds apart. Just listen
to this back and forth fifty secondscomplete. One eighty is ready to talk.
I'm ready to to talk to Putin. I'm prepared to talk to any
(01:35:01):
leader who wants to talk, includingif Putin called me he wanted to talk.
So he was talking this is lastnight, and he said he wouldn't
talk to Putin, And then hesaid he talked to any leader, including
Putin. So what is it,sir? What seriously, sir? Just
(01:35:26):
would like to know. And thenat the end I played this earlier,
but I think it's worth repeating again. The moment at the very very end,
as Joe Biden was getting ready towalk off, he's closed his binder,
he's gonna leave. One reporter standsup and calls him out about the
screw up by misidentifying his vice presidentas vice president in Trump and letting him
(01:35:50):
know that Donald Trump is already mockinghim over this. And Joe gave a
really curious answer answer, vice PresidentHarris as vice President Trump. Right now,
Donald Trump is using that to lockyour age and your memory. How
do you combat that criticisms. Ilisten to him. Thank you, everybody
(01:36:17):
listen to him. He wants youto listen to Trump. I would make
an ad out of that. IfI were Donald Trump right now, I
would definitely would. I've got acouple more I have to get to.
I also promise you the SB'ST clip, which I want to get to.
And the cognitive exam question. Itwas kind of brought up very briefly for
(01:36:41):
just a couple of moments. Andlet's not forget Governor Whitmer on CNN saying
that Biden should take a cognitive testbut also insist that Donald Trump take a
cognitive test? Do you agree?Do you disagree? Eight five five?
(01:37:03):
Oh no, that's not the number. It's two eight eight hundred talk eight
eight hundred talk. It's Opelka infor Barclay. Oops. I had a
Biden brain fark on Superstation nine.Ten am. There it is. That's
the song should be the campaign song. Hold On I'm Coming. Donald Trump
(01:37:24):
bounds down to the stage, holdOn, I'm Coming. They're playing it
at the end of the Rallies BigRally tomorrow night. We'll carry it live
right here. Will it be theVP? Announcement night. We're three days
away from the convention starting, andwill it be the VP announcement night?
Could be? I hope so bea great night to do it. But
(01:37:49):
you'll be able to listen live righthere. I think starting at five thirty,
Is that right? Andrews? Startingat five thirty on Saturday night?
That sounds right? Yeah, couldn'thave been a less sure answer if you
tried. That sounds about right. That's close enough for government work. Yeah,
I know, I don't know either. Plus, whenever the rally starts,
(01:38:12):
there's usually like an hour and ahalf of stuff before Donald Trump arrives.
So just check him with us.You should check him with us every
day. That's a good plan.Justin returns on Monday, will we have
a new Democrat candidate in the offingat that time? I'm kind of waiting
to see if Pelosi and Obama andtheir evil alliance drop the hammer on Joe
(01:38:40):
Biden. Governor Whitmer was talking aboutit yesterday too, Governor Whitmer on CNN
saying some pretty interesting stuff with AbbyPhillip. Like I said, the only
one who makes this decision is PresidentBiden. He has communicated he is in
this race. He is going tosee it through and he's ready for a
second term. And until and unlessthat changes, I'm all, all,
(01:39:04):
but you you think that there's apossibility he could change his mind. I
don't. I have heard nothing tothe contrary. I understand that there are
people with different opinions. I understandthat some are playing fantasy football and want
to just pick a couple of randomleaders that they like across the country and
design a ticket. That's just nothow this works. We have a president
(01:39:24):
who's gotten the nomination, who's earnedit, who is going barreling toward convention,
and unless he decides something differently, this is the field and this is
the high stakes. Were it?Yeah? So interesting. The Democrats are
now saying he earned the nomination. He earned the nomination. Joe Biden earned
(01:39:45):
the nomination the same way Fidel Castroused to win elections by being the only
candidate. Remember, Robert Kennedy wantedto be in a competition with Joe Biden.
RFK Junior wanted to be there asan option, and the Democratic Party
(01:40:06):
said no, no, we can'tdo no, we can't have him out
there. He'll give he'll give achallenge, to Joe Biden, he'll be
a risk. Well after the lastcouple of weeks, RFK Junior's out there
telling people, Hey, if youneed a candidate, I'm here. I'll
(01:40:27):
be here, Robert Kennedy, youguys have my phone number. You know
where to find me. Joe Bidenin serious trouble with new polling numbers.
He's got higher negative numbers than DonaldTrump, and Trump's negative numbers are still
out there. There are a lotof a lot of negativity around Donald Trump,
(01:40:53):
but Joe Biden is the one whohas the highest disapproval numbers. And
before the campaigns, previous presidents whohad high disapproval numbers and lost, you
had Carter hw Bush, Donald Trump, and now Biden's in that same category.
(01:41:13):
He's got fifty percent or higher disapprovalrating. And this close to the
election, that's not a good thing. And the Democrats are terrified that if
they lose the White House, thedown ballot effect is going to be so
massive, so massive, that it'sgoing to cost him the House. In
(01:41:34):
the Senate, now, I mentionedthat the Senate yesterday did something very important.
The Senate yesterday voted on a judgethat Biden had dominated a federal judge,
a lifetime appointment of a federal judge. And I have to give the
(01:41:56):
Biden administration the Democrats credit. Theyhave pushed through two hundred plus federal judge
appointments during the first three and ahalf years of this guy's administration. That
will have a long term effect.Donald Trump pushed a lot of judges through.
Donald Trump also got the three SupremeCourt justices approved, and if he's
reelected, he might get one ortwo more. And that's freaking out the
(01:42:19):
Democrats. Trust me, that's gonnabe on the ballot. They're going to
talk all about the Supreme Court. But yesterday, in the Senate, where
the Democrats hold the majority, therewas a committee vote on a judicial nominee.
Joe Biden nominated Sarah Netburn for aUS District Court for the Southern District
(01:42:45):
of New York. This is abig stinking appointment. But the nomination got
shut down yesterday. That got shutdown yesterday, and uh, it needed
Democrat help to do it. Therewas a party line vote, a party
(01:43:05):
line vote except for one Democrat. One Democrat, Senator John Asoff of Georgia.
You have to say his name verycarefully. Otherwise, it sounds like
it should be believed. Right.Senator John Asoff of Georgia Democrat broke away
(01:43:27):
from all the other Democrats on theJudiciary Committee to vote against the nomination of
this judge Netburn. And what's sowrong about Judge Netburn? Well, you
only have to listen to a littlebit of Ted Kruz to understand what is
so horrific about this Biden nominee.I mean, really, we talked about
(01:43:50):
the problem in our jails, inour prisons earlier with transgenders, but this
judge was actually pushing some of thisin your court. What matters more the
rights of individuals or your political ideology? I apply the law to the facts.
(01:44:11):
I asked a question which matters more? Well, my political ideology doesn't
matter at all, Okay. SoI don't believe you, and I think
this case demonstrates that you are willingto subjugate the rights of individuals to satisfy
your political ideology. This case involvesa male defendant who raped a nine year
(01:44:34):
old boy. Was he guilty ofthat? Yes, the petitioner pled guilty
to that. Okay, So heraped a nine year old boy. He
also raped a seventeen year old girl. Was he guilty of that? He
pled guilty. The petitioner pled guiltyof that crime as well, So was
he guilty. I hope so,because she pled guilty to it. He
was a he when he did this, that's correct. One year after being
(01:44:59):
released again, he was convicted ofhaving child pornography. Is that correct.
I'm unclear on exactly the timeframe thatyou're at, but the petitioner was convicted
of distributing child pornography. So TedCruz came with all the receipts. Ted
Cruz had all the history of thissix foot two inch tall man who now
identifies as a woman in order tobe housed in a female prison, a
(01:45:26):
serial rapist, pedophile, child pornpossessing convict who used the system to not
have to be in a men's prisonwhere we know what happens to child rapists
in men's prisons. We've heard thestories. This judge thought it was okay
(01:45:50):
until yesterday, until Ted Cruz madehis very impassioned appeal to the Senate Judiciary
Committee, and they voted yesterday tenDemocrats voted four that judge to make a
federal lifetime appointment to the Southern Districtof New York, one of the most
(01:46:13):
important and powerful courts in the land. Every Republican voted no, and one
one Democrat, Senator John Osoff ofGeorgia, said no, We're not doing
this now. I grant you. There have been more than two hundred judicial
(01:46:33):
appointments have already happened under the Bidenadministration. But the fact that one Democrat
at least had a spine and asoul and stood up against this kind of
insanity makes me feel a whole lotbetter about myself and about my country.
It still doesn't make me want Senatorasof to get another term, but it
(01:46:58):
makes me feel pretty aren't good thatSenator Cruz who's always and Senator Cruz is
facing a very tough battle. Let'smake no mistake about it. Senator Ted
Cruz, who's up for reelection inthe state of Texas, is running against
a congressman who at a member ofthe House of Representatives who wants to be
a senator. He also happens tobe a former Dallas cowboy. And can
(01:47:21):
you think of anything other than aformer Dallas cowboy that's going to get a
lot of love Despite the cowboys dismalrecord in the past few years. You
have an African American male, formerDallas Cowboy running against Ted Cruz. Ted
Cruise is a tough battle. Let'shope Texas keeps him in office because he
(01:47:42):
has done incredible work defending the Constitutionin America. Speaking of football, I
mentioned the Dallas Cowboys with the guywho's running against Cruse, Harrison Butker,
the kicker for the Kansas City Chiefs. Guy's got a few Super Bowl rings.
He came out at a commencement ceremonyat a small Christian college and talked
(01:48:08):
about traditional roles for women, anda lot of people in the left break
out, and you're got to wonderwhy that's his opinion. Should different opinions
be ostracized. No, they shouldbe heard, and if you disagree with
them, have a reasonable discussion. We can disagree without being disagreeable. That's
(01:48:30):
kind of the rule that made Americagreat. But last night on the SP's
the ESPN Awards, you had thewilliam sisters, who I respect greatly for
their tennis skills. I love thesport of tennis, and I think the
william sisters are just remarkable. Venusand Serena incredible performers. They were up
(01:48:55):
on the stage. I forgot whothe other young lady was that was with
them last night. They were talkingabout women's sports and support of women's sports.
I watch women's tennis. I thinkit's great, but I like men's
tennis more. I don't watch women'sbasketball. I'd rather watch men's three on
three basketball. That's me, that'smy choice. But if there are enough
(01:49:20):
seats filled by fans of women's basketballor women's tennis, why shouldn't it be
allowed? Why shouldn't it be successful? But last night the Williams sisters standing
on the stage at the ESPN Awardsat the Spis had to throw some shade
(01:49:41):
on Harrison butkerf so go ahead andenjoy women's sports. Do you want any
other sports because they are sports exceptyou, Harrison Butker, we don't need
you everything at all, like ever, Yeah, it got a little bit
(01:50:02):
of a round of applause. Thatwas the young female I think she's a
gymnast who was standing between Venus andSerena who said, yeah, like never
whatever. But it was Serena whosaid, we don't need you to Harrison
Butker opinion, it's kind of importantbut you know you're supposed to follow the
(01:50:30):
media mandated popular opinion or you're goingto be told that we don't need you.
I think the Kansas City chiefs itfeel differently about it. That was
Quinta Brunson, who I don't knowwho Quinta Burnson is. I think she
might be a gymnast, not sure, looks like a pretty healthy person.
(01:50:51):
Ja's the one who said, yeahat all, like ever. Sorry,
people, a difference of opinion,It's what makes this country great. Contrast
makes for beautiful pictures. I'm justsaying, it's Michael Pelka just around the
corner. We'll put a fork in. This week, I will wrap up
(01:51:12):
my appearance in for my friend JustinBarklay. Got a couple of final thoughts,
a couple of things I want tomake sure you are aware of before
we get out of here. Aheadof Glenn Beck, I'll do a double
check to see if any more Democratshave dropped out of their support for Joe
Biden. Oh, we didn't evenget into him. Screaming. Screaming Joe
came out. We had whispering Joeand we had screaming Joe yesterday. So
(01:51:33):
we had lion Joe whispering, Joe, screaming Joe, and a little bit
of confused Joe. We'll see ifwe can get it all in. It's
going to be a busy final segment. It's Opelka in for Barkley on Superstation
nine ten. We should vote forRick Astley for president, right because he's
(01:51:59):
never going to give you up,never gonna let you down, never gonna
run around and desert you. That'sso wrong. We shall also vote for
Vanilla Ice too. If you're gonnago buy lyrics. It's Michael Pelka in
for Justin Barclay on The Justin BarclayShow. Go ahead, look up Ice
Ice Baby lyrics and then apply topresidential campaigns. You'll be laughing later.
(01:52:21):
Justin returns on Monday, I haveto get a couple more things in here
before we check out for the weekend, and mister Beck gets in here.
A remarkable career, mister back hasgoing on. Happy to be his opening
act today. Joe Biden last nightwas asked about taking a cognitive exam.
Will you take a cognitive tests?Sir? Are you open to taking another
(01:52:43):
physical or test before the election.Governor Whitmer of Michigan frins intead, it
wouldn't hurt to take a test.Well, look two things. One,
I've taken three significant tents neurological examsby nurse a neurologist that's a lie in
(01:53:06):
each case is basically in February, and they say I'm in good shape.
Okay, although I do have alittle problem with my left foot because it's
not as sensitive because I broke myfoot and didn't wear the boot. But
I'm good. I'm tested every singleday by my neurological capacity to the decisions
(01:53:28):
I make every day, and that'swhy we'd like an actual medical professional to
give you a test. Sir,you talk to my staff. All of
you talk to my staff. Sometimesmy staff talks a lot. But the
fact of the matter is, Idon't think you have them telling you that
all the major ideas we've undertaken haven'tbeen in part initiated by me. I
remember when the staff I said,I'm going to go to South Korea.
(01:53:51):
We're going to get the chip. What are you doing. I'm going to
get Japan and Korea back together again. No essentially having hostilities toward one another
since the end of World War Two, Just that rambling statement should require a
cognitive test, just that statement alone. Doctor Sandea Gifto was right, you
(01:54:14):
should have to take a neurological test. And then there's the screaming. We're
sitting around this we comings so goodas well. We're sitting around. More
children are killed with a buy abullet than any other cause of death the
United States of America. What thehell are we doing? Yeah? We
(01:54:34):
ask ourselves out every day, sirwhen we see you in the Oval office.
The screaming, the rambling, theranting, it all requires the test,
and we wish it would happen liketoday as soon as possible. Well,
see what happens. It's going tobe an interesting Friday as the President
(01:54:55):
is in town. Enjoy the Joejams have patients. They're not I'm really
posting the opinions. One of ourfabulous listeners wrote me and said, they're
not posting the opinions because too manyTrump flags show up along the route.
Isn't that interesting? Thank you,Barbara, appreciate that hip tip. As
I said, Justin will be backin this spot on Monday. Thank you
(01:55:16):
for being here. God bless allof you. Andrew, great job today
as always as usual and I remindall of you until next time. Testudo,
my friends, Testudo
