Speaker 1 (00:01):
And it's going to be a heck of a riot.
It's like drinking from a fire hose. Never a dull moment.
But yes, you'll hear the stories you won't hear anywhere else,
and we'll appreciate you being here with us. From today.
I'm justin Barclay. Yeah, welcome.
Speaker 2 (00:19):
Then.
Speaker 1 (00:19):
Our guest today is in the heart of it, in
the pelly of the beast almost who can say in
New York City today, fresh after those elections, and of
course Zoramandani just elected one of the most radical individuals.
We're coming up on the twenty fifth anniversary of September eleventh,
and the think of the anti Semitism and all the
(00:40):
other things that the communism, all these radical, extreme ideas
that he's he's elected on And how did we ever
get here in a nation where we said twenty five
years ago, never forget we're coming up on those times.
Our next guest, Troy Miller, joins us and of course
talk about these sub Jackson more. Troy, thank you so
(01:01):
much for taking the time to be here with us today,
and of course you're there for some other reasons, but
I thought it was kind of interesting to here, but
a little bit about what the national religious broadcasters are doing,
of course with the Veterans Ministry, with just a little
bit of time, you're separating us on that week Veterans Day.
But also what's it like in New York City right now?
(01:22):
And maybe your reaction to the election is zoron, Mom, Donny,
welcome in.
Speaker 2 (01:26):
Well, thank you for having me today, and like you,
you know, and being a Navy veteran, shock, it's a
little bit shock here in New York City. I think
people are still trying to, you know, figure it out
about you know, how far the city has gone, you know,
left to think that we've elected in the largest city,
(01:46):
the financial center of the world, a radical socialist, anti Semitic,
Islamist and that's he's going to set the policies for
this city in the next four years. And I think
people are worried, uh here. I've talked to a lot
of people in the Jewish community, and I think even
(02:08):
in the Christian community, what is this city going to
look like a year from now?
Speaker 1 (02:12):
Yeah, that's that's a very good question. I know people
have already started the move of trying to get out.
And that's the whole question of whether you leave or
whether you try and stay and be that remn or
fight it out. And I don't know what I would do.
(02:32):
I guess it's hard to say. But these are real
concerns these people have. I'm sure.
Speaker 2 (02:39):
They are real concerns because look, we know history tells us,
and look across this country, there's not a single mayor
in this country that has tried to implement these kind
of socialists, you know changes that these the cities just
haven't crumbled into chaos and decay. And that's across the country.
Yet the city has done it again. This is a
(03:01):
city that's going to follow down that path. And the
history tells us around the world, we have so many
you know, members that were God saved and came out
of communist countries and out of socialist countries, and they'll
tell you it never works. It's gonna the city's going
to fall apart. And I think that's what people are
really worried about. And for the people that can get out,
(03:23):
that's good, but there's a there are millions of people
here who can't get out, and they're going to be
stuck under this regime and this kind of governance.
Speaker 1 (03:32):
Right now, people are watching and the eyes of the
world are going to be on New York City. And
one hand, you know, we said, well, you know what,
if they voted for you know, the Bible, the Lord said, hey,
if if you want a king, I'll give you one
that type of thing. And they voted for it, we'll
let them have it. Maybe there'll be a great example
to the rest of the world of all of the
reasons why you don't go down this road. But at
(03:53):
the same time, I hate to see people in that
city about to go through what they don't even realize
they're about to go through.
Speaker 2 (04:01):
Yeah, I mean, God has a history. We look at
this throughout the whole Old Testament when when we reject him,
when people reject him, He's okay, reject me. I'm going
to give you that kind of ruler that that that
is about the rejection of God, because sometimes it's that
kind of thing that takes them to snap back and
bring them, you know, back to God, to say, oh,
(04:23):
this is what it's like living without God. Yeah, we
need to repent to this. But we're going to be
praying for the city. We're going to be you know,
Church's hero will still be reaching out. We're still still
have evangelism going, but it's the eyes are going to
be on New York for the next twelve months.
Speaker 1 (04:40):
Troy Miller with us right now, ash Religious Broadcasters. And
of course you mentioned praying. That's that's that's a big
piece of it. Here in Michigan where I'm at. Video
came out yesterday. I just want people to just a
wee can underscore where we are and what we're looking at.
And the subject matter is one thing, but I really
want to folks on some of the other pieces of this.
(05:01):
This was it. It caught eyes and it went viral.
It looks like it's it's almost like, I guess he
is an a mom or something like that in a
mosque and dearborn. But it's sort of a youth group,
is what looked like. That's important. I'll bring that up.
But here's the video. He's talking about how Americans are
backwards and we're barbarians because we use toilet paper all
(05:23):
investment technology, yet they still haven't figured out that when
you go to the bathroom, just still wiping themselves with paper. Now, okay,
that's why it went viral, Troy. But and it is
as remarkable as it might be. Something more stands out
to me. He goes on this round a little bit
(05:44):
further and about and it's really shocking what he's saying
about the country that's taken him in, et cetera. But
look at who he's talking to. These are all young,
impressionable males, and these are kids that the indoctrinate. You
can watch and see this in actronation process occurring.
Speaker 2 (06:02):
Uh.
Speaker 1 (06:02):
And this to me stands out more than anything else
we're seeing the you know, the time that Mandani is
elected mayor, this same thing is happening in places like Dearborn, Michigan.
Speaker 2 (06:15):
Yeah, you know, it's it's interesting because this is a
pattern we see around the world. This is the pattern
that happened in Gaza. You know when they when when
Israel pulled out and they had a chance to really
turn that place into a different, uh kind of area
and country, they decided they were just going to indoctrinate
their children. And it seems like you know, something like
(06:35):
toilet paper, you know, a little bit of you know
against the West there. You know, it seems pretty small
at first, but you have to realize this is a
pattern that they're building up to build up this hate.
This is what they want to build up on these
young kids. They hate for the West, the hate for
the Western culture, the hate for the Judeo Christian foundations
(07:00):
of that Western culture. And that's what's building up across
this country right under our noses. And look, we're letting
it happen. I'm all for the legislation that would outlaw
sharia law.
Speaker 1 (07:14):
Yeah, it needs to get a closer's some of these
places they're taking steps to get closer towards it. We
just saw the other day to a bloody brawl that
book out. This was Berkeley. A man standing and handing
out you could see him in the background. He's got
this red shirt. He's handing out these red freedom shirts
and an event that essentially was reaching people there on
(07:37):
campus and he all from all the reports that I
hear is he was handing out these shirts, very peaceful.
The video I see showed him saying, you know, Jesus
loves you, handing out these shirts. He was attacked. Somebody
came up, a man whose name was actually Ghat, that's
his first name, came up and attacked him, and later
there's a bloody brawl. They took they tried to take
(07:57):
the cross that was hanging around his neck. And I
know that this has got to be a lot of
concern for folks watching this type of thing and violence
that continues to pervade our country.
Speaker 2 (08:11):
Yeah, you know, radical Islam when it reaches that majority point,
near majority, or over a majority point in the community.
Is Islam always turns radical. That's just just a history
of it. And you have to look at the tenets
of Islam. And this is why we oppose sharia law
because we're a constitutional republic. The highest law in this
(08:34):
country is the Constitution, but in Islam, the highest law
of Sharia. And so these communities want to turn, you know,
into basically Islamic communities within the US that are separate
from the US and then continue that spread. And we
need to look, we need to be preaching the gospel,
We need to evangelize people, but we also are called
(08:57):
as Christians to protect people. We can't just have a
blind die to this.
Speaker 1 (09:01):
Troy Miller with us right now for the National Religious Broadcasters.
And of course you've got a great you know, you've
got a great handle on all you have to stay
on top of all of these issues. I know that
one of the things that you'd like to do as well,
is make sure you're making a difference not just for
broadcasters but beyond. Right now, the NRB launching the Veterans Ministry.
(09:23):
That's part of what you're in New York City to do.
Tell us a little bit about what's happening on this
Veterans Day Week as we honor those folks.
Speaker 2 (09:29):
Yeah, so we do honor. I'm a Navy veteran myself,
and if anybody, if you really open up or read
the papers, unfortunately veterans have one of the highest suicide
rates of the country. They have the highest ad diction rate,
they have the highest of worst rate. They have depression
and just a number of things they dealing with PTSD.
(09:52):
You know, as you transition out of the military, is
you've come out of this family, this place that gives
you a purpose and a mission, and and that you've
really had people that have been there as family for you.
It's often very hard to get back into that civilian life.
And so what we're launching with a number of churches
(10:13):
and organizations across this country. There we have found out
there are hundreds and hundreds of veterans organizations out there
that a lot of people don't know about it, especially
churches and pastors. So this initiative is has sort of
three goals. One to you know, encourage pastors to have
the same kind of outreach to veterans in their communities
(10:34):
and veterans in their churches that they do to married
couples and other folks that are addicted. Then connect those
pastors with all of these different resources that are available
to them, and then they're going to find out once
you if you help a veteran in your community, you're
going to end up impacting that veterans family, that veterans
(10:55):
immediate folks around it. And also when the impact your
community and look, the best place for veterans to understand
their mission, their purpose and to serve is in the
Church of Jesus Christ.
Speaker 1 (11:07):
Amen. Well, thank you for your courage in your time
and you continue to serve obviously in different ways I
know many many do, but you're right. I think unfortunately
through the years there have been opportunities that come along
when we haven't been able to step up and maybe
do the things like the National Religious Broadcasters is doing.
(11:30):
The opportunities are happening more and more, and definitely salute
you all. For doing that. It's something the church we
got to see more of a role of the church
involved in.
Speaker 2 (11:42):
Yeah, it's part of our active role to reach people
and to love people. And you know the veterans, there
are many of them that have come out of the
recent Gulf Wars and hot spots across this country and
they're in real need of help. And that's what we're
called to do as a church. And look, we've already
had amendus response. I mean, our phones and our emails
(12:03):
have been going off the hooks since we announced this yesterday,
and so we're just excited to help people and to
love people and to love the people that protected our freedom.
Speaker 1 (12:14):
We'll continue to stay up Todate Troy. Always a pleasure
to the President. National Religious Broadcasters, come back, give us updates.
We love hearing from you and all the great work
that you're doing. You know, we had a great conversation
probably a mutual friend, Pastor Brad Brandon, who's with the
Cross Nigeria. I know you all have some things in
the work together with him in the future. But there's
(12:34):
another story. We're watching these stories that continue to sort
of get to that prominence. What's happening in Nigeria, with
Christians under attack there and the President stepping out. These
are all big stories we're keeping an eye.
Speaker 2 (12:45):
On, heymen. They early are and Brad's done a great
job to bring that tragedy to the attention of the
American people.
Speaker 1 (12:54):
We'll continue to shine a spotlight on it. Thank you
for your hard work. Appreciate you as always.
Speaker 2 (13:00):
Thank you, thanks for having me.
Speaker 1 (13:01):
You got a Troy Miller with the National Religious Broadcasters
and another example of some of the stores you just
won't hear anywhere else.
