the art of the.
Speaker 4 (02:08):
Deal, US and Ukraine stenting, critical minerals, deal, reconstruction deal,
all of it. A massive shift. That a change from
the last administration rump. Just flip that script on foreign
a no more blank checks. Now it's business. Ukraine gets
help rebuilding, but only if America gets a seat at
the table. We're talking titanium, lithium, uranium, all the critical
(02:33):
minerals that are necessary to take competitive That's what real
leadership looks like. Folks, turning endless foreign handouts into win
win deals. Trump showing the world how America leads and
that's on our terms. The Michigan House. More good news
for you repealing that law that voting to repeal that
(02:55):
law that would remove there.
Speaker 2 (02:56):
Local control over solar and win from you.
Speaker 4 (03:00):
May remember state law passed about well, it was it
last year sometime or the year before. Democrats authorizing bureaucrats
that I repeat myself, barre in Michigan in the Public
Service Commission to override local zoning decisions and put wind
and solar farms in.
Speaker 2 (03:18):
The communities against.
Speaker 4 (03:20):
The will of local residents, take over of local control,
receiving pushback from people all over the state, especially in
rural regions, shoreline communities. Well, we got good news and
we're talking to the folks in the house.
Speaker 2 (03:33):
Coming out. Buckle up.
Speaker 4 (03:36):
Prosecution is rested, Officer shir trial continuing today. Defense moving
for a mistrial yesterday and asking for a directed verdict
of acquittal both denied. But testimony yesterday, particularly from experts
defense calls, was damning for the prosecution. GRPD Captain David
Cyber testifying experts saying the officer acted re.
Speaker 2 (04:01):
In that scenario and.
Speaker 4 (04:03):
We've gone through it. I can't see it any other way. Honestly,
how does the whole thing shakeout? Only time will tell.
We'll get the latest updates throughout the program today on
day four. Thank you for taking a time to be
here with us. We appreciate you more as we continue,
(04:25):
and your phone calls too. After this, all right, let's
dive in. What else do I have?
Speaker 2 (04:34):
Oh? Did you see Kamala Harris last night?
Speaker 4 (04:39):
Holy cow? I don't know if this was the one
they were talking about making her supporters pay like twenty
five bucks a pop to watch her speech. It was unchained,
it was off the hook. It was unhinged. It's probably
the best way to put it. And very sad is
someone that has you know, I didn't win in coming
(05:01):
out in making the claims that she made, By the way,
look at the turnaround that's already happened in this country
in the first hundred days. The next hundred days ahead
obviously will be No time will tell how that all
pans out, but folks pressing forward on it all. We're
going to talk about that coming up, and you can
join the program after this first and update from the
(05:22):
folks at the Midwesterner.
Speaker 5 (05:24):
Here are your headlines from The Midwesterner this Thursday, May First,
I'm Robin Poffman. It's a Midwesterner dot news original story.
A senior advisor for Customs and Border Patrol tells the
Midwesterners Kyle Olsen, there's been a ninety seven percent drop
in illegal Southern border crossing since President Trump took office
and that the nonsense of the last administration is over.
(05:48):
This is a good thing for Michigan, as the Midwesterner
continues to report crimes at the hands of illegal aliens
here in our state, including rape. In other news, lots
of excitement on campus as President Trumps schedule to give
the commencement address at the University of Alabama tonight, and
in case you missed it, former Vice President Kamala Harris
giving her first speech since leaving office, predictably attacking President Trump,
(06:12):
saying his tariffs are hurting the economy.
Speaker 6 (06:15):
You are not alone, and we are all in this together,
and straight talk. Things are probably going to get worse
before they get better.
Speaker 5 (06:26):
For these stories and more, visit The Midwesterner at the
Midwesterner dot News.
Speaker 4 (06:32):
A rainy day, but a national day of prayer at
that happening this morning and all throughout the day, folks
joining together to pray, to come together fighter battles the
way we do best on our knees, and.
Speaker 2 (06:52):
I ask you to do that with us.
Speaker 4 (06:53):
Matter of fact, today at noon, I'm gonna do a
special prayer if you'd like to come together, whether it's
to lower on locals. Justin Barclay is where we'll be
doing that. Love to hear from Steven Miller now is
give it a briefing, press briefing right now at a
White House.
Speaker 2 (07:07):
Taking a lot to the top of this here.
Speaker 7 (07:09):
This also includes the administration's message to our hospital systems
that they cannot and will not be allowed to use
taxpayer dollars to perform chemical castrations and sexual mutilations of children.
Castration surgeries, castration drugs, sterilization treatments of children are barbaric.
(07:29):
They violate all sound medical ethics. They are completely unwarranted.
They harm children for life, irreversibly. It is child torture,
it is child abuse, it is medical malpractice.
Speaker 4 (07:42):
We're going to bring you highlights throughout the show and
as we get those clips, but they're holding what they're
coming right now.
Speaker 2 (07:52):
What I'm all led for White.
Speaker 4 (07:53):
House Press briefing on restoring common sense. It's Homeland Security
Advisor Stephen Miller at the antipodium as we speak, justin
Barkley here with you today, joining us speaking of common sense.
Speaker 2 (08:05):
I just I always think this is the right approach.
Speaker 4 (08:08):
Reptom Coach joins this Republican there in the House, as
the Republicans have taken back control and making big news.
In fact, just passing, just moments ago, we heard the
story about this taking control back into the hands of
local folks, and I think rep this is again common sense.
I think those decisions ought to be made as close
to home as possible, as always welcome in.
Speaker 8 (08:30):
Government should be small, transparent and local and whatever they decided.
And it's the same thing. If you want to have
this in your area, then go to the township meeting,
go to your local city, your village, and that's where
it should be decided. And I mean this is the
part the Democrats are afraid to go talk to their constituents,
because even their constituents want to have a voice. They
turn this over to the NPSC, an unelected bureaucracy, and
(08:52):
I don't think people realize the MPSC Michigan Public Safety
Commission Service Commission excuse me, is appointed by the governor.
They're not elect they don't have to have open meetings,
they don't have to be there's no transparency at all.
So nobody can defend this. And now you have a
bureaucrat in Lancing saying nope, we're going to do this
in your area, you know. And it's funny and I'm
(09:13):
sorry justin maybe I shouldn't have had coffee this morning.
It pisces me off when I hear about this. This
an arbor Democrat or this. You know, we got a
traversity Democrat. They know that these solar farms and these
wind farms aren't going in their district, so they say, no,
put it out, you know, put put it out in
somebody else's area. It's it's the classic nimbi. I want
to virtue signal and say that I care about the
(09:36):
environment and I'm going to do good things, but I'm
not going to do it in my district. You know,
I don't want to do it here. Well, this is
terrible policy. Nobody can defend it. Let the people decide.
I just can't believe we have to argue about democracy
in twenty twenty five.
Speaker 4 (09:51):
But here we are Pischigan House voting to repeal the
law that would remove the local control over the solar
and win permits. Oh damn you, Greta may not be
happy this morning, but that way we know there are
a lot of folks. Hey, Tom, look, I know that
this is near and dear to you in your area
and your district. I mean, you're very close to what
you've seen play out with the Goshen fight. There again, right,
(10:15):
local folks getting involved in a very big issue.
Speaker 8 (10:20):
You want to talk about David and Goliath and David won.
I mean, Goshen was an amazing fight, and I don't
I'm sorry if I get off of the local zoning.
I think we all know that should be. But here
the state of Michigan comes in. They don't let the
people have a say in it, and they're trying to
jam this down. I mean, it was amazing what the
anti Goshan people did. We recalled the board, we elected
(10:43):
a new board, we took over the county commission. I mean,
Goshen doesn't have a friend left in the government. Gretchen
Whitmer can't get away from them fast enough because she
realizes how bad.
Speaker 3 (10:52):
This is to be.
Speaker 8 (10:53):
I don't when I say in bed, I mean figuratively
to be associated with the Chinese Communist Company. You know,
that Congress of Mulinar is doing a great job. But
I gotta say, the people with the boots on the ground,
they're my freaking heroes. I mean, they're doing a great
job fighting that and they're winning. That's the amazing part.
Good for them.
Speaker 4 (11:11):
You know, it's interesting that that particular issue, and I
think this might be one too, that that really is bipartisan.
Speaker 2 (11:18):
And speaking of which.
Speaker 4 (11:19):
You're going to give her credit. Even though she wasn't
prepared to speak, she was. She was in on it
along with other Republicans, working very hard, hand in hand
with President Trump to make that big announcement the other
day across the state with Selfridge Air Force National Air
Guard Base there and the the F fifteen's But she
(11:41):
Governor Whitmer, she heads off to her, she took off that.
I guess she'd lowered the blue folder for a moment
and then decided to step out into the spotlight and
do the right thing. We need to see more of that.
And by the way, these issues Republicans and Democrats alike
are really aligned on and particularly Goshen and this this
(12:02):
wind and solar local permitting issue.
Speaker 8 (12:06):
Right, I agree. That's when you know, say what you
want about Gretchen Whimer. She's not stupid. She's a politician.
She's been in this game long enough. We've got to
be coming up on twenty years now. How is it
that you're on the rostrum with the president and you
didn't know that you didn't have some comments prepared? So
I guess I don't I'm going to question her veracity
(12:28):
on that little bit. I don't believe that she was
totally surprised, so she should have been better prepared.
Speaker 2 (12:32):
How about that that?
Speaker 4 (12:34):
It's funny? It was probably her way of being able
to say, yeah, no, I just I don't know if
I am. I don't know if I really want to
be here, but I here I am. And boy, she's
taken some heat from people, some of the wackos inside
the party. But you know, at the end of the day,
you can play politics all day long, and I look,
I get that side of it. That's some of that's
(12:55):
that's necessary. But what the American people and what folks
here in Michigan have elected her and the President and
you as well. To do is to govern, is to
get to work and get the job done. And you
all are doing that.
Speaker 8 (13:09):
Yep, it's coming. So she's right, she's got to welcome
to the sandbox. It's going to be divided government. Gretchen Whitmer,
you might as well. You know you're going to your
President Trump is going to be here after you leave.
The Michigan House is going to be Republican as long
as you're here. Put your blue folders down. Let's sit
at the table and have an adult conversation. And I'm
(13:29):
optimistic we can do that.
Speaker 2 (13:30):
And Rep. Tom Coon's with us right now. Rep.
Speaker 4 (13:33):
Anything else that that's on your radar that we should
be taking a look at, or we should be thinking
about her that you're working hard on right now.
Speaker 8 (13:40):
It's funny because the Democrats are upset we keep asking
about road funding. Hey, by the way, remember six years
ago there was a there was a governor that ran
on fixed the roads, and we keep bringing us up.
So we actually submitted a plan on it. There mat
we don't want to talk about that anymore. I'm like, listen,
if you want to shut me up, it's really easy.
Release your plan. What's your own funding plan, you know,
(14:01):
just tell me what you want to do. So we
keep pushing on that. We're going to roll into the
budget here pretty quick. By the way, happy may appreciate that. Hey,
let me let me just as a side justin. I
hope you're in a good move this morning. Thank you
so much for the National Day of Prayer. I don't
think people realize how much we appreciate that. There were
some constituents that came down, they sat up in the
(14:22):
gallery and they literally, i mean physically prayed over the
legislature and it's just powerful. I mean, that's amazing. So
to all your listeners, thank you for doing that.
Speaker 2 (14:31):
I mean, I'm excited.
Speaker 8 (14:31):
I'm actually giving the invocation today at noon, so thanks
thanks for doing that. But I didn't mean to make
that that was an aside. But it's powerful, it's powerful.
Please keep it up.
Speaker 2 (14:40):
Fantastic.
Speaker 4 (14:41):
And all the battles that are fought, all the fights
and lancing in Washington, d C. Probably the most powerful,
I would say, and that said not just probably, that's
that's definitely the most powerful. Are the battles that we
fight on our knees. Thank you, my friend. I appreciate
you being Reptom Coots. Thank you so much. Work at
Folks following then stay up to date and in touch
(15:01):
with you if they have questions.
Speaker 8 (15:03):
Awesome, thanks for having me. You have a great day.
Speaker 7 (15:04):
You've got national security and that has to be the
guy post of any objective. At the same time, Terris
will bring significant revenue into this country that will allow
us to pursue our dramatic plan of tax cuts and reforms.
Speaker 9 (15:17):
Awesome. Great.
Speaker 4 (15:20):
Steven Miller there in the White House Press briefing room
being asked questions right now, is speaking on what the
White House is calling restoring common sense right now.
Speaker 2 (15:30):
Wide range.
Speaker 7 (15:30):
Though I don't want to get ahead of any announcement,
but I'll just reiterate that right now, countries from all
over the world, because of President Trump's leadership, are desperate
and dying to make trade deals with the United States.
We're going to evaluate each of those deals in President
Trump is personally involved in making sure that these negotiations
serve only one interest, which is the interests of the
United States of America, and we'll end up with the deal.
(15:53):
In these cases where yes, the other countries obviously will
have their own demands and their own interests, but nothing
will go into effect that doesn't serve the interest of
America and the American people.
Speaker 9 (16:03):
Sure, Eric, thank you Stephen. This morning, GM is putting
a dollar figure on how much the President's tariffs will
impact the company. The CEO says tariffs will cost GM
between four and five billion dollars this year. The CEO
fourd says he can't commit to not raising crisis because
of tariffs. Is the administration open to doing more to
give automakers relief?
Speaker 7 (16:24):
The question, unfortunately misses the entire point, which is that
US automakers have announced dramatic investments and expansions inside the
United States. American auto plants are growing, they are expanding,
They are opening new facilities, they are expanding existing facilities
that are already in operation because it is now the
case that for the first time in our lives, that
(16:45):
American cars receive preference in America's markets. The US auto
industry used to control the entire world. I believe the
number during the heyday was that seventy percent of all
cars in the world were made in Mission And now,
of course we've become a tiny fraction of the global market.
And the reason for that is because the United States
(17:07):
opened its markets to every single foreign cheeter and every
single foreign nation that subsidized his goods on the face
of the earth, and their markets have been closed to ours.
Japan closed our market to our cars. The entire EU
closed their market to our cars. South Korea closer market
to our cars. All of the countries I just mentioned
have tens of billions of dollars of annual trade deficits
(17:27):
automobiles with the United States. These are supposedly pure nations,
nations that have at least a somewhat equivalent per capita GDP,
So it is impossible under the terms of fair trade
if you have two nations with similar per capita GDP
to have such uneven trade flows and automobiles. What the
President has done with his car tariff, we have the
most desirable market in the world. Is if you want
(17:49):
to sell cars tear free, tax free to our market,
your plant has to operate in the United States. The
only alternative to that is to have no US automobile
industry whatsoever, Which is where this has had. It to
be clear, if we sit in this current path, within
a few years, there would have been no US automobile industry,
and what little was left of it would have been
(18:09):
in Mexico because US auto companies have steadily been shifting
their supply chains to Mexico where they believe it is
cheaper to make their products. In reality, they'll be cheaper
to make them here because there'll be no tear for
anything in mid in the United States, and we'll have
the cheapest energy and the best regulatory environment in the
face of the earth.
Speaker 2 (18:25):
There you have it.
Speaker 4 (18:26):
That's just part of the conversation having right now inside
the White House Press briefing room, and the one on
White House is calling the return to common Sense briefing.
They're doing a big, big push today. He's just heard there.
What there's the focus here in obviously this administration, but
also in michiing as well. James Dixon, our good friend,
(18:46):
joining us now from the Enjoyer down I seventy five
over on acts. Always a pleasure, my friend. Thank you
for taking the time to be here with us today.
Never a dull moment, What a wild leek it's been
so far.
Speaker 3 (18:59):
Absolutely morning.
Speaker 2 (19:00):
Justin so you just heard some of that.
Speaker 4 (19:02):
Maybe your reaction, I guess, to kick things off about
what the Steven Miller has mentioned and went there. They're
being brought up there and what it called common sense,
restoring common sense to American and maybe are manufacturing approach
with the world.
Speaker 10 (19:16):
You know, some of these arguments people haven't heard them
in many years because nativism has been given a bad name.
They've they've talked you out of wanting what's best for you,
while they import people into America to undercut your wages.
So we get we send the jobs away, and then
we also import people here to undercut our wages. So
(19:41):
the American worker and the middle class is being squeezed
on all sides. And you know, in Michigan, the state
that created the middle class, we feel it the most.
Our whole thing is really reliant on people being able
to work and make man size wages for that work.
And that when that went away and it was taken
(20:02):
away and given away, the promise was that we were
going to make up for it with laptop jobs and
service economy. That clearly hasn't happened, even with COVID. So
we need to go back to the economy we had one.
Speaker 3 (20:14):
Hundred years ago.
Speaker 10 (20:15):
Yes, there's modern versions of it, but the thesis that
men could make money building things is still sound.
Speaker 2 (20:24):
Yeah, And here's the deal.
Speaker 4 (20:26):
Not only are we going to need to do that
for an economic reason, right, not only are we going
to need to do that for financial reasons, but.
Speaker 2 (20:33):
Did there's an whole national security.
Speaker 4 (20:35):
Approach and angle to this too that just keeps, I
guess getting swept underneath rug. Look, we saw what happened
in twenty twenty, you know stuff, and at the time
it was Chinese junk that was stuck on ships, and
you know, people talking about, oh no, what if I
don't get this in time for Christmas? Well, that's one
thing China, But what if you don't get the medication
(20:57):
that you need in time to save someone's life.
Speaker 2 (21:01):
That's a whole other story altogether, right, And.
Speaker 3 (21:05):
That's the pain we have to embrace. And that's the.
Speaker 10 (21:09):
Circle we have to square. You really can't have a
situation where you're getting mission critical you know, pharmaceuticals and
things like that from China. But that's exactly where we've
put ourselves. Yeah, people like our last secretary of Energy,
our former governor, Jennifer Granholm, was saying she wanted the
(21:30):
military to be all v the military tanks to be electric,
vehicles by twenty thirty. And so you have a lot
of Democrats who are just trying to drive us off
the cliffs, whether it's green energy fantasy, whether it's the growth,
and they actually don't like us having prosperity, whatever's driving it,
whether they want to see China's rise, whatever's driving it,
(21:53):
they don't want the best of a ten million people
who live here, and that I think is going to
become untenable to them.
Speaker 4 (22:00):
Absolutely. Well, we saw the President's visit here this week.
Let's talk a little bit about dad. Couple of big
news stories that came out of it. Number one, you
got the Selfridge Air National Guard Base announcement, which was huge.
We got Whitmer who finally came out from behind the
blue folder and on into the spotlight. And you know
(22:22):
what's interesting. We were kind of tough on her, and
I think rightfully so for hide and behind that bluefolder
in the Oval office. But I will say, and James
and Is ask, I don't love this, but I will
say the fact that she showed up, she was there.
I know people and her party hate her right now.
This is a really tough thing for her, But that's
the kind of thing showing that you can work together
(22:42):
that average Americans like in it, it actually ups her
chances and being able to be competitive in twenty twenty eight.
Speaker 10 (22:51):
I don't think it necessarily helps her future because I
think Democrats have gone off the deep end. And I
think when you look at what she said and just
her a few moments, I'm really damn happy to be here,
Damn happy.
Speaker 3 (23:05):
Who's ever said that?
Speaker 10 (23:06):
I mean, she just Gretchen Whitmer doesn't have social skills.
It's a common malady among.
Speaker 3 (23:12):
Us Michigan and ers.
Speaker 10 (23:13):
We are awkward, especially to anyone who's not from Michigan,
and that I think is part of what limits us
on the national stage.
Speaker 3 (23:22):
And you just saw it. I mean, what was that?
Speaker 10 (23:25):
Damn happy? And you're hiding yourself behind binders. She doesn't
know what to do with her hands. And my guess,
you know, since high school to now she probably has
is what she considers social skills is an overreliance on alcohol.
Speaker 4 (23:40):
All right, I got to pull you out of the
because I get where you are with her, but I
got to put you out of that and just let's
just talk in generalities because we've seen Gavin Newsom do
this too. Where he's like, I'm hey, I'm moving more
to the center. I'm more common sense, Jim Craven. Though
we know that's not real. But that's the kind of
thing that the American people want to see. They want
(24:00):
to see you work together, they want to do you
see you do common sense things like make sure we
got an air National Guard base that's going to have
a future here, we got F fifteen's coming here. You know,
that's the kind of thing they want to see. They
don't want to see any of this radical, crazy AOC
and Bernie Tour stuff that's happening right now.
Speaker 10 (24:20):
Well, normal people don't want to see those things. But
Democrats aren't normal, and so they want. I mean Curtis
Hortel Junior. Yeah, Whittmer is his mentor, her father or
his father was Whittmer's mentor. Whitmer's been tight as thick
as these with Theurtel hotels for years, three decades now,
(24:41):
and Whitmer is there with Trump when he comes to
Michigan Hotel condemns it. They just don't with anyone who's not.
Speaker 3 (24:49):
Died in the world.
Speaker 10 (24:50):
Democrats, to your point, fewer people by the day.
Speaker 2 (24:53):
Yeah, to your point, James I brought this up yesterday.
Speaker 4 (24:55):
They got a lot to square here and this It's
gonna be hard for them to do it because as
she's doing that, you've got Attorney General Dana Nessel coming
out there filing all these lawsuits saying.
Speaker 2 (25:04):
We can't normalize this president. Which one is it going
to be?
Speaker 10 (25:09):
They are the normal they are the don't normalize party.
They're the party of MSNBC. They're the party of frothing
at the mouth. They're the party that thinks Tim Wawls
is an avatar of masculinity.
Speaker 3 (25:21):
They are so far off the mark.
Speaker 10 (25:23):
They don't see the same things we see. They don't
have the same values we share, and they just with
every utterance and every day they become a strange from
the American people. And it looks like Gretchen Whitmer might
be more of one of us, Denji is one of them.
Speaker 4 (25:43):
You know, we had a chance to chat last night
briefly on the on the text message and one of
the stories that continues to come up, and you're popping
up and talking about some of the insanity and what's
going on with Democrats right now, voter ide. This is
what James said last night on textbus voter I D
Chinese voter scandal out of control.
Speaker 2 (26:02):
Now the voter is on the lamb.
Speaker 4 (26:04):
Now as Benson runs the London Marathon. What is going
on here? And this is another just another day in Lancing.
Speaker 3 (26:16):
You just can't beat it.
Speaker 10 (26:17):
I mean, on the very same day when Detroit News
publishes a story about Lancing workers, you know not they're
working from home, they're not going into the office these days.
And you got Sam Robinson on Twitter and a journalist
at Detroit one million got him talking about, Hey, I'm
trying to use the Secretary of State website. It's not
really working. And you have the Detroit News drop another
(26:39):
article talking about how the campaign finance portal, which runs
through Jocelyn Benson's office and her department, that's not really
working and it's actually been made worse under Benson's tutelage,
under Benson's leadership. And as all that is happening, Jocelyn
Benson is not in Michigan. She's not tending the fires.
She's up fixing the things.
Speaker 3 (27:01):
He's not learning the code.
Speaker 10 (27:03):
She's running the London marathon.
Speaker 3 (27:06):
While Michigan burns.
Speaker 10 (27:08):
Bedson's running the London marathons man, It's just it is
what we could expect if we were to elect her
as governor help of her marathon trips, the Michigan taxpayer
would end up funding wile Michigan continues to slide and
slide and flide because we elected another influencer rather than
someone with gravitas who could be our governor.
Speaker 3 (27:31):
Watch out for Jocelyn Benson.
Speaker 10 (27:32):
She's she's dangerous.
Speaker 4 (27:35):
Let me let me ask you this because this is
this is another This is another one, because that seems
straight out of the playbook of that mayor of La
which she was on that trip, wow, while La was burning. Unfortunately,
this is something they have in common with each other.
Speaker 2 (27:53):
And I don't know what it is.
Speaker 4 (27:54):
But all of these wacky leftist, extreme radical folks, they
all have their prime already's misplaced in just some egregious ways.
Speaker 10 (28:04):
They don't have an interest in governance. You were talking
about Gavin Newsom earlier. I saw him on the news
last week. They were calling him a podcast host, not
governor of California. Everybody wants to be an influencer rather
than do the things that you that you you get
influence and you use influence to have power. Yeah, Normally
(28:27):
you would see someone try to leverage being an influencer
into becoming a governor. Now you have governors wanting to
become influencers rather than use the bully pulpit which people
have been using for two hundred and fifty years. Who's
been an upside down bizarro world?
Speaker 4 (28:43):
Justin whose podcast is doing better right now?
Speaker 10 (28:46):
His are Michelle Obamas, gotta think Gavin Newsom and Gavin
Newsom at least keeps the guests in mind. He brings
on Charlie Kirk who has a large audience. He's going
through a humiliation ritually.
Speaker 3 (28:59):
Yeah, Michelle, bam me. I know people are watching on YouTube.
Speaker 10 (29:02):
Could you imagine watching that frownie for an hour?
Speaker 1 (29:05):
Oh?
Speaker 2 (29:07):
Unbelievable.
Speaker 4 (29:07):
By the way, you want more on this down I

On tomorrow or the coming Monday to talk about this
effort to constitutional mement requiring voter idea. Speaking of common sense,
here we go again. They need proof of citizenship, they'd say,
here in Michigan. Can you imagine and how many people
this will put off? Always a pleasure, my friend, James,
thank you so much.
Speaker 10 (29:41):

Here are your headlines from the Midwesterner this Thursday May. First,
I'm Robin Poffman. It's a Midwesterner dot News original story.
As Senior Adviser for Customs and Border Protection Ron Vidello
telling the Midwesterners Kyle Olsen that some of the tools
the Biden administration was using to help illegals pour into
our country and right here into our state, have been
(30:23):
totally shut down by the Trump administration. In fact, the
app illegals were using to get in has now been
reconfigured to make it easy for illegal aliens to self deport.
The result of this crackdown should help with crimes being
committed here in Michigan. The Midwesterner continues to report on
rapes and other crimes happening at the hands of illegals
(30:44):
who simply do not belong in our country. In far
left San Francisco, former Vice President Kamala Harris, speaking publicly
for the first time since leaving office, still hammering away
at President Trump for deporting thousands of illegal aliens who
have committed crimes here.
Speaker 6 (31:01):
It is not okay to detain and disappear American citizens
or anyone without due process.
Speaker 5 (31:09):
Meanwhile, President Trump securing a landmark minerals deal with Ukraine.
Trump meeting with Ukrainian President Zelenski at the Pope's funeral
in Rome, and just days later the deal is done.

Speaker 4 (31:27):
Back at it day of testimony yesterday and experts. I
believe it was day three, and of course we had
the defense moving for mistron, moving for directed verdict of acquittal,
and judge denying both of those defense putting experts and
their witnesses on the stand. One made a powerful couple
of powerful statements during this testimony. Captain Cyber from the
(31:48):
GRPD take a listen to big.
Speaker 11 (31:50):
Factors hindsight twenty twenty can't be used in evaluating that
use of force. Right, the comfort of your desk or
your office or your couch as you're watching that video.
That's not the goal. That's not the objective there.
Speaker 4 (32:02):
This is the trial of officers, sure, ongoing as we speak.
Speaker 11 (32:06):
They've got to pick up clues or cues ahead of
time to try to give them some kind of a
fair playing field.
Speaker 6 (32:14):
And is there any GRPD policy that prohibits an officer
from pursuing a suspect or a person when there is
another occupant in the car.
Speaker 11 (32:24):
No, we don't want to limit telling our men and women.
There's there's one response to that input of that stigula
for that situation because it's just not practical.
Speaker 2 (32:35):
Are they reasonable?
Speaker 11 (32:36):
Keep coming back to that term, are they reasonable for
that situation? So, yeah, it doesn't have to be perfect,
and we constantly review and coach and mentor and train
to try to perfect that craft.
Speaker 2 (32:47):
If you will.
Speaker 11 (32:48):
But again, we don't expect perfection.
Speaker 2 (32:50):
It's just got to be reasonable.
Speaker 4 (32:52):
This as Captain David Cyber, and he's actually said today,
according to reports, just.
Speaker 2 (32:57):
Speaker 4 (32:59):
By the way, they are, I said, well, there Sure
is going to take the standard on they are questioning.
About an hour ago, he said that his use Sure's
use of deadly force was appropriate. He's an expert in
training Captain Cyber at the GRPD.
Speaker 2 (33:14):
We'll have more of.
Speaker 4 (33:15):
Those, and one of the things I'd like to ask
you to pray about, not just for Captain or for
officers Sure, but also for Patrick Lelli's family, but the
entire city an area here as we're get and pulled
back and forth. We've seen it at the beginning where
it looked like news media and some organizations are going
to try and use this and kind of pull us
(33:36):
in the more of a conflict and division. And thankfully
that that really hasn't necessarily happened yet. Who knows what
we get as vernets come down and whatnot. We've got
jurors asking questions, and this thing will continue to roll
through here today. But I'd like to continue to ask
you to pray for that, Pray about the nation, folks,
Pray for our leadership, President Trump. Obviously, those leadership locally
(34:01):
and in the state level as well. We've got to
make sure that we're doing our best to cover them.
And at noon today we'll do a prayer. We'll do
a prayer call for you at noon on locals justin
Barklay dot com slash locals love to have you there
to join the program. All right, after shows rolling along.
We've got some big stories again the Kamala audio and more,
(34:22):
and a story I'm going to share about prayer at
the Capitol, powerful story that I experienced coming up in
the after show today.
Speaker 2 (34:31):
All on the way.
Speaker 4 (34:32):
Wishing you the best, thank you for being here with us,
and thank you for your support. As always, stay in
a fight, make it a great one. God bless
