Speaker 1 (00:00):
From High Top Monroe Center in downtown Grand Rapids. We're
talking about what matters most to you when West Michigan.
Joining the conversation now at six one six seven seven.

Speaker 2 (00:10):
Four, twenty four twenty four.

Speaker 1 (00:12):
At six one six seven seven four twenty four twenty four,
it's West Michigan Live with Justin Barklay on Wood Radio Radio.

Speaker 2 (00:23):
Oh, welcome INNY. It is Friday before Thanksgiving Day week,
and man, oh man, things are I don't think gets
kind of interesting our day. You're kind of slowing down.
It seems like to me, I saw fewer people on
the road this morning, which was kind of interesting, right,
that was that was interesting? But I and I kind

(00:46):
of I feel like the news is in a cycle
where it's just not gonna stop.

Speaker 3 (00:51):
Now.

Speaker 2 (00:51):
We've seen that lately over the last two years. And
I'll tell you that's why I think today is might
even not your socks up. They don't sleep at the
White House these days.

Speaker 1 (00:59):
You's weather and traffic. I'm big his stories of the day.
We are talking about what matters most in West Michigan
and beyond. This is the Big Three.

Speaker 2 (01:12):
Now, see that's all they used to do. If you
remember Biden spent a lot of time upstairs asleep. Not
so now. The president doesn't sleep, the staff doesn't sleep,
and boy tay the reporters sure sac they can't get
an they sleep these days, and it never stops. Neither
do we. That's why we thank our friends at Hartland
Home Mortgage for helping us keep this train on the tracks.

(01:37):
If you're looking for help lit buying a home, refinancing,
home equity line of credit, they've got a lay a
team can help you get there. They've helped us and
so many others that listened to this program save it
thousands each and every time. We've worked with them, and man,
we couldn't be happier. Reach out to them today at
hhmlinding dot com.

Speaker 1 (01:56):
Number one.

Speaker 2 (01:57):
President Trump on Thursday suggesting several Democrat lawmakers be punished
by death. Well that's the punishment for freezon right seditious behavior,
punishable thy death, Keem posted on truth Social Well, this
is after they encourage troops, the military, folks in the

(02:20):
intelligent community to disobey orders. Now I say illegal orders,
but you know that's where you really have to discover
in the court what's legal and what's healing. Everybody's got
opinions and at the end of the day, this move
Democrats could get people killed. One of the senators of
Alyssa Slotkin from Michigan not backing down. In fact, they're

(02:40):
doubling down on this move. Trump is two and we'll
have more on this. I'm sure this will be all
they talk about both through the weekend. Meanwhile, Trump's meeting
with Mandani today. Presidents said to meet with New York
City marilect Zorn Mondani in the Oval Office, their first
faith to face meeting since he was elected on November fourth. Oh,

(03:04):
I'm sure if just to be a fly on the
wall in that office, boy, that would be something when
I just love to be there. Twenty eight point US
back peace plan is in the talks right now to
endo war between Ukraine and Russia, circulating amongst those in
Kiev and Washington. Vladimir Ulynsky acknowledging receiving the recent draft.

(03:27):
Now there's lots of key things inside of it that
would have him giving up much. I don't know that
he's going to be happy about it, but they are
in a position where they need to end this thing,
and the President has been pushing for that for quite
some time up for ending yet another war. He's ready again.

(03:48):
As I said, the news never stops. The work doesn't either,
and that's why we keep this show roller not along.
We a want to join the program. You can at
any time, but love to have you on for a
free for all Friday. Chry Now.

Speaker 1 (04:08):
Ain't America. It's free for all Friday. Talk to Justin
now six one six seven seven four twenty four twenty four.
That's six one six seven seven four twenty four to
twenty for West Michigan Live with Justin Barclay on Wood Radio.

Speaker 4 (04:25):
Now.

Speaker 2 (04:25):
You can also use the iHeartRadio app that little microphone
button where you a tap to sound off rent Ray,
ask the question, whatever it might be, let us know
and let it rip. Love to hear from you, get

(04:45):
in and make it happen big week here, not just
across the street, well across the country, but across the
street as well in our own backyard from 's Michigan,
the lands again, all throughout the met and in fact
that we just saw night they wrapped up I think
some of the candidates for governor and the Republican fundraising

(05:07):
efforts that they had the last debate happened on Traverse
City last night Kyle Olsen with us. They streamed it
over to the Midwestern or the Midwesterner dot news. Kyle,
good morning, welcome in appreciate you being here with us.

Speaker 3 (05:19):
Hey, good morning, thanks for having me.

Speaker 2 (05:20):
Anything stand out for you last night in that debate.
I guess I probably should start things by asking.

Speaker 3 (05:29):
No to be honest, It's just I don't this. This
is the challenge with these with these primaries, with you know,
a large amount of people, is they all generally believe
the same.

Speaker 2 (05:41):
Thing and they kind of sound.

Speaker 3 (05:44):
How do you separate yourself as a candidate. And then
of course the person that people say is the front
runner wasn't there, and so he John James has not
appeared at any of the read of these debates that
they've had, So there was not a whole lot that

(06:06):
was memorable. You know. We we've did some interviews with
the candidates afterwards, and we'll be posting those later at
at the Midwesterner and on her ex account, et cetera.
But you know, one of the things that I think
that was was one of the questions that was asked,
was this is going to be you know a name

(06:29):
I d having voters know who you are, where you
stand on issues, et cetera is critically important, and how
are you going to separate yourself from a Joscelyn Benson
or a Garland Gilchrist or a or a Mike Dugan,
et cetera. And you know, the there was not I

(06:52):
don't think I don't think the candidates, some of the
candidates fully understand just how difficult that is to get
your name out, to get your policy positions out and
why people should vote for you.

Speaker 2 (07:06):
You know, this is a little early to have the
debates to be talking about it, but also for these
folks to be able to differentiate and pick up some steam,
get name recognition, because that's a big part of this,
that's part of what this whole thing's going to be about.
And then you've got Jocelyn Benson out there, who again

(07:26):
you said, willing to do, and she is willing to
do anything and everything she can't affect you. There were
stories about this this week at The Midwesterner, the Midwesterner
dot News, one of those candidates asking the DOJ to
step in, Eric Nesbit saying, you got to come in
and look at what's happening with these because there's no
way we can let her oversee her own election. That's

(07:47):
the Katie Hobbs playbook right out of Arizona. And you're
going to see. If you thought twenty twenty four in
twenty twenty was a mess, get ready for what's coming
down the pike here in twenty twenty six. She will
stop at nothing. And I think that's one of the
biggest differences between Republicans and Democrats right now. We said
it before, but again and think it's worth repeating. Sometimes

(08:08):
it feels like folks on a right don't want to
save the country as much as folks on the left
want to destroy it. Or is Obama's a fundamentally transformant.

Speaker 3 (08:21):
Right And what I have been saying, and I've said
it to you, I don't believe she is going to
allow Mike Duggan on the ballot. You know, all of
the talk is that it's going to be a three
way race, and she I believe she knows that if
she allows Mike Duggan on the ballot, she loses, and

(08:43):
the Republican has a very good chance of winning. And
we have seen in twenty twenty four there was there
was a progressive candidate who wanted to be on the ballot,
and she wouldn't let him on. RFK wanted to be
off the ballot, but she wouldn't let him off the
ballot because she believed that would take boats away from Trump.

(09:06):
She is very, very political, and now she is, as
you said, she's the Katie Hobbes of Michigan, where she
wants to go from Secretary of State to being governor, running,
running and winning governor. And so she is going to
at this moment, she's going to oversee her own race.
And so Nesbit and other senators asked and representatives asked

(09:31):
for the DOJ to monitor what's going on, because if
she can manipulate the ballot and keep a competitor off,
then she's going to try and do that. Because the
polling shows this is interesting. The polling shows that right
now she gets seventy two percent of the Democrat base,

(09:51):
which is that's very low. I mean, generally you want
to be in the low to mid nineties. Obviously the
higher the better, but you really need to be If
you're low ninety, you've got trouble. She's at seventy two.
And then when when respondents found out that Mike Dougan
is a Democrat, her base, her Democrat base goes to

(10:13):
sixty percent, so she's only winning sixty percent of Democrats.
There is not in that scenario, there is not a
path for her, and so if she puts him on
the ballot, she's going to lose.

Speaker 2 (10:26):
Kyle Olson. The Midwestern and Midwesterner dat News will stand
that same sort of neighborhood, but also talk about another
big story that's been getting a lot of attention over
at the Midwesterner and rightfully so throughout the state right now,
these data centers, lots of pushback happening from communities that
are just against having these things come in. And boy,

(10:48):
Jocelyn Benson's husband right smack doubt dab in the middle
of one of these fights, maybe one of the biggest
in Saline Township right now.

Speaker 3 (10:59):
Yeaes she her husband is His name is Ryan Friedrichs.
He works for a company called Related Companies. One of
their companies is Related Digital, which is the company that
is trying to put this this data center in. And
this is you know, this is reminiscent of what happened
in Green Charter Township in Goshen. The local community doesn't

(11:20):
want it. So the big question is the state of
Michigan going to come in and force the local community
to accept something like this. The Green Charter Township residents won.
This is a little bit of a different situation because
when it comes to these green projects, the state the state,

(11:41):
it's up to the state whether or not it's going
to it's going to you know, go there. And so
they made they were very clear that they didn't want this.
In kl Kaska, there there's a similar situation and the
local community was so opposed to it. The company it's
else said we hear you, We're not going to build here.

(12:03):
So they had so the local residents had a victory
in Kalkaska. There's lots of questions about whether or not
these these data centers are good policy. What impact do
they have on energy rates, on water usage, you know,
all of those sorts of environmental issues. Which is interesting
because the Democratic Party has has you know, sort of

(12:25):
fancied itself as the party for the environment. We didn't
see that in Green Charter Township. They you know, just
sort of look the other way about the impact on
water usage and everything else. And now it seems like
they're doing that again with these with these data centers,
and so it's they're they're looking at sites all over

(12:46):
the all over the state to try and push these through.
Jocelyn Benson, she's actually been put on the spot about
is your husband going to continue to work on this
if you happen to be elected governor And she's had
to an for that. But but these these data centers
are the hot new thing and this is what you know,
local communities are going to be facing now, Kyle.

Speaker 2 (13:09):
Also the Midwestern or the Midwestern dot News, the founder
there and bringing you the stories a matter of most
cross the state but also the country. Is well, anything
else you guys are working on right now that we
should be aware of or keep a lookout for on the.

Speaker 3 (13:21):
Website, Well, I think you know there's obviously it's we're
heading into the holiday season, but things are, you know, still,
the news doesn't stop as you say. This Illici's lockin
story where she she posts a video basically calling for
the deep state to rise up against the Trump administration,

(13:44):
and then he calls that out and then she suddenly
turns into the victim and the media, the Michigan media
is portraying her as the victim. When she got this
whole thing started by calling on the media or the
military and the federal government to undermine the Trump policy

(14:05):
and the Trump administration and the chain of command. And
it's this is that that was shocking that she would
participate in something like that. It was interesting though, because
she led with I was a CIA officer in that.
Here you have someone who's invoking her CIA past is
calling on the military to undermine the Trump administration.

Speaker 2 (14:28):
Don't miss that, and I think a lot of people haven't.
And folks just saying even Mike Rogers could be the
Senator from Michigan right now. Don't forget that. That's a
big conversation and one that's going to continue to happen
into twenty twenty six. So I just I just when
people talk about principles and they talk about, you know,
we got to make sure we're following a constitution. You

(14:49):
got somebody in there right now who's blatantly thumbing their
nose at the constitution. They don't care and they're rubbing
your face in it. Just remember that this is something
we talked about from the beginning. And look, I just
think it's worth pointing out. And again this I don't
think I think This is all just going to heat up.
This isn't going anywhere anytime soon. This is a well

(15:10):
coordinated effort. This this this whole issue with this video. They
knew exactly what they were doing, well timed to come
in after the shutdown and after the vote on the
Epstein thing, which I think you'll find disappear soon too.
They're on to their next thing, folks, and so are we.
We've been on to them the whole time, and we'll
make sure we continue to keep it covered as Kyle

(15:32):
does the same. The best work at the Midwesterner dot news.
Always a pleasure, my friend. Thank you for joining us today,
you got it. And Happy Thanksgiving, God bless Oh. Yes,
So not a good chance to talk to Kyle next
week because we're going to do Thanksgiving and I'll be
live for Glenn Beck nationwide Friday on what we call

(15:53):
Beck Friday. Should be a lot of fun. Back with
you and your calls after this.

Speaker 1 (15:58):
Hey, no question, It's West Michigan Live with Justin Barklay
on news Radio Wood thirteen hundred and one oh six nine.

Speaker 2 (16:06):
A f m.

Speaker 5 (16:08):
Here are your headlines from the Midwestern or this Friday,
November twenty first, I'm Robin Poffman. It's a Midwesterner Dot
news original story. We're going to fight like hell and
they did. A proposal to build a huge data center
in Kalkaska is dead. There was a plan to build
the facility on state owned land in the northern part
of the Lower Peninsula of Michigan, but folks who live

(16:29):
there fighting it and winning. In other news, here in Michigan,
House Speaker Republican Matt Hall celebrating passage of his new plan.
It will make the budget process here in Michigan way
more transparent. And tis the season. The indoor White House
Christmas tree is coming from right here in Michigan. The
twenty five foot tree cut down in the town of Sydney,

(16:49):
and it will be on display in the Blue Room.
This marks the first time in forty years a tree
from Michigan has been picked for the White House. For
these stories and more, visit The Midwesterner at the Midwesterner
dot newh.

Speaker 2 (17:07):
We told you yesterday seven thirty three turkeys in the
mail Trotter Turkey, jop Live, MS, all the wonderful sponsors,
Yoda Realty, I mean, I just the list goes on
and on to people like you make it happen every
single year, another big record set and we just could
be more grateful. Families will have Thanksgiving next week that
never would have had that opportunity just because of your generosity. Fantastic. Hey,

(17:32):
a funny story, but it's kind of wild. You know,
they're done making pennies. Someone from the Department of Treasury.
They're called treasures. By the way, Brandon Beach will join
us in just a little bit talk about that penny situation,
which is I think he was actually there when they
struck the last penny, which is wild. Plus, we have

(17:53):
some things to talk about advantages from the one big
beautiful bill. That fact you may see a tariff check.
We'll get details on that all on the way. After this,
it's West Michigan Live, checking our bottom of the our headlines. Now,

(18:16):
let me get this three freshed hang out. Let's see
let me unopen this morning. We're up two hundred of
the Dow s and p twenty two Nasdaq fifty seven.
Lots of green on the screen this morning. Stocks rebounds,
the NBC says after Thursday's AI route is it FEDS
Williams revives rate cut hopes we'll talk a little bit
about that. We'll get lots of discuss And then I

(18:38):
saw this story. Uh, I thought was kind of in
j you're four to one k under President Trump doing
very well. The average four to one k Ira et
cetera hit record highs with the market games here this year,
according to that latest story. That's all coming up in

(18:59):
just a moment. First, thanks to the folks powering this
program today and every day guarding your nest egg dot com.
Mike Lester and the team at Talent Wealth. Hey, I
know is they get things righted and of course getting
things back on tracks. Sometimes it can feel a little
bumpy that roller coaster ride. You don't have to get
nausees on it though, Whether you're ready to retire today, tomorrow,
ten twenty years down the road, you can talk with
Mike and the team at Talent Wealth. They take a

(19:20):
holistic approach to make sure that you can get to
where you need to go and of course where you
need to go, uh, when you need to get there.
That's that's the key. They're not like everybody else, you know,
they understand that not everybody is going to need the
same approach. That's whether they take a customized strategy and
approach to everything. Reach out today at six one six
six six one one thousand, or go online to guarding

(19:42):
your nest egg dot com and find out how you
can get your your retirement strategy in play. Now. Your
retirement strategy may not be necessarily this may not be
I'll just throw this out. There may not be a
great retirement strategy. To have the last penny that was
ever struck at the mint in Philadelphia. We just learned

(20:03):
that they want to auction these things off and the
last five could go from anywhere from two to five
billion dollars. Treasurer Brandon Beach is on with us right
now from the Treasury. Matter of fact, he's a guy
and did it. He was there, sir. Thank you so
much for taking the time. What a unique moment in history.
Must have been pretty wild to be a part of that.

Speaker 6 (20:22):
Well, justin thank you for having me on your show
Happy Friday. I will tell you that last Wednesday was
a historic day for our country. For two hundred and
thirty two years we've had a penny, and I was
very proud to be able to strike the last few pennies,
and especially the last one, and to hold that and
know that we're going to auction that off for three

(20:43):
to five million dollars. It was it was very I
was honored to dude, it was a very historic day.
You know, this is just part of President Trump's common
sense agenda. We're going to save the taxpayer's fifty six
million dollars annually by discontinuing the penny. The penny was
costing US four cents to make a penny, and the

(21:03):
demand had declined.

Speaker 3 (21:05):
Pre COVID we did nine billion pennies a year.

Speaker 6 (21:08):
Last year we only produced two billion, So the demand
was going down, the price was going up, and it
just made sense to eliminate the penny. You know that
it would be crystal clear that we have three billion
pennies in circulation and it's still legal tender. It's not
going to go away. We're just not going to produce anymore.

(21:28):
But you can still use your pennies and have your
pennies and it's still legal tender.

Speaker 3 (21:35):
And I don't think we'll run out of pennies for.

Speaker 6 (21:36):
A couple of years with three hundred billion in circulation.

Speaker 2 (21:40):
If you do, just check your couch questions. I'm sure,
I'm sure you'll find that Treasure Brandon Beach with us
right now, and he actually was there as they strucked out.
That's interesting to me because you made this points very
I don't think a lot of us new that it
costs that much to make a penny. And so when
you talk about the common sense approach, I'm sure President
and of course Secretary Treasury looks at that and they say, yeah,

(22:03):
you know, this doesn't this really doesn't add up here.
Let's save the taxpayer some money and make this because
not every penny's worth two million dollars.

Speaker 6 (22:12):
No, you're right, and so we made the decision. You know,
the President really made the decision, but we implemented both
Secretary Best and myself and we eliminated it. So it's
it was the right thing to do.

Speaker 2 (22:28):
So let me ask you about this because obviously that's
a big story we're working through that you just probably
heard us talk about. We've seen a lot of action
in the markets lately, folks who are talking about those things.
The IRA, the R four oh one K story I
just mentioned is is another piece of this. But as
the President tries to get things back on track, and
of course we've heard about that possible tariff check that

(22:50):
might be coming our way. We'll ask you about that too,
But a lot of this is coming out of those policies,
out of this administration and at one big beautiful bill
as well.

Speaker 6 (22:59):
Well, you saw yesterday's September jobs report. We added one
hundred and nineteen thousand jobs in the economy. Let me
say this, I was fortunate enough. I'm a former state
senator in Georgia, and I was fortunate.

Speaker 3 (23:11):
Enough to be very involved.

Speaker 6 (23:13):
In President Trump's campaign in Georgia and got to know him.
And Georgia was a swing state, so he spent a
lot of time in Georgia. And it didn't take me
long to figure out this guy loves our country. He
loves and respects law enforcement in the military. But what
President Trump really loves is capitalism. He wants you, your kids,

(23:34):
and your grandkids to be able to pursue the American dream.
And he doesn't believe government creates jobs. He believes the
private sector creates the jobs. But what he does believe
is we can create a conducive environment for job creation
through fair trade, the tariffs, low taxes, less regulation, provide
an educated workforce, and then infrastructure investment. Both rose bridges

(23:59):
in twenty first century infrastructure like satellites and broadband.

Speaker 3 (24:02):
And so on.

Speaker 6 (24:03):
And he believes if we do those five things and
get out the way, that the private sector will flourish
and we will have a Golden Age economy. And that's
why I came to work here.

Speaker 3 (24:14):
I came to.

Speaker 6 (24:14):
Washington to help him create this Golden Age economy and
provide my grandkids the opportunities that I've had. This is
a great country. We are so lucky to live here.
And I think next year we're going to be able
to showcase how lucky we are. It's our two hundred
and fifty year birthday, and we're going to be talking
about American exceptionalism, American pride, and American spirit, and how

(24:37):
lucky we are to live in this country. Some of
the things you can do here you can't do in
China or anywhere else. And you know, I give this example.
I'm from Louisiana, and I talk about this guy, Todd Graves,
who couldn't get a loan from a bank to start
a restaurant, so he went and worked on the oil
rigs for two years, saved up forty thousand dollars. Now

(24:57):
he's worth twenty two billion dollars. He owned raising canes.
It's a chicken franchise. Yeah, and he's made a lot
of money. And you know what, God bless him. He
worked hard, He had a dream and he pursueded and
that only happens in America. And we're going to talk
about stories like that next year in our two hundred
and fifty year birthday. The other thing we got going
for is next year we got the World Cup coming

(25:19):
to America, which is going to showcase our country in
eight different cities of how lucky we are to live here.
And so that's going to help us from an international
standpoint to showcase what America is all about.

Speaker 2 (25:32):
You know, it's interesting timing. You mentioned raising caves, and
that guy takes chicken very seriously. I just saw an
interview with them talking about what he does and how
they get into the very specifics of the birds they
use and what they do with it. It's really it's
really fascinating. But you make a good point. There is
no other place in the world, as we get ready

(25:53):
to matter of fact, they just opened the first raising
canes here in our backyard just this last week. But
there's no other place the world a treasure. Why you have, uh,
the a dream. You don't have an Indian dream, you
don't have a Chinese dream, you don't have a greatest dream.
There's only one place, the American dream that that that

(26:13):
actually exists.

Speaker 6 (26:16):
And that's why I'm working so hard for President Trump
to create this Golden Age economy. I was with him
in the Oval Office not long ago, and three times
he mentioned, we're going to create a Golden Age economy,
a Golden age economy. He wants every zip code in
this country to have the opportunity to prosper. And we're
doing that, and we're going to We're going to give
everybody the tools in the toolbox to pursue their dreams.

(26:39):
And that's what we're doing.

Speaker 2 (26:41):
I love that getting back on track and the common
sense approach at its finest. I think it's certainly a
well timed and it's about time for it the second again.

Speaker 6 (26:52):
Yes, sir, listen, I think President Trump's the greatest president
we've had, but I can guarantee you he's the greatest
jobs an economic president we've ever had. Look In his
first term, he was saddled with two impeachments, the Russian hoax,
and we were setting records and jobs were growing, and
then COVID hit. And then if you look in the
first ten months what he's done after he inherited a

(27:12):
mess from the previous administration, egg prices were high, fuel
prices were high. And now we've had you know, nobody's
talking about egg prices or fuel prices. And jobs are flourishing,
manufacturing job they're coming back to the country. And Wall
Street has had some record numbers, I think seven or
eight times in the recent couple months they've they've hit

(27:34):
record highs. The economy is going to get better. We're
gonna make this economy affordable. We're gonna get fuel prices down.
Let me tell you, I think energy is the key
to everything. And President Trump doesn't just want to be
energy independent, he wants to be energy dominant. And when
you get energy prices down, the cost of transportation for
goods and services goes down, the prices for raising kines

(27:58):
goes down, the prices for lumber goes down. Everything is
related to energy. And this guy understands how important energy is.
And he's got Secretary Bergram and Secretary Right working together,
and we are going to be not just energy independent.
We're going to be energy dominant in this country.

November twenty First, I'm Robin Hoofman. It's a Midwesterner dot
News original story. Michigan Senator Democrat Alssa slot Gin up
to a new trick that has the attention now of
President Trump slock in posting a video with a few
fellow Democrat veterans urging military members to refuse orders. No
one has to carry out orders that violate the law

(30:13):
or our constitution. We know this is hard, that it's
a difficult time to be a public servant, whether you're
serving in the CIA, the Army or Navy, The Air Force.

Speaker 2 (30:21):
Your vigilance is critical.

Speaker 1 (30:23):
No, if we have your paer, don't give up, don't
give up, don't give up.

Speaker 5 (30:27):
Don't give up the ship now, President Trump on truth
social writing, this is really bad and dangerous to our country.
And for the first time in forty years, a Christmas
tree from right here in Michigan selected for a very
special honor. It's heading to Washington, d C. To be
put up in the Blue Room, the twenty five foot
tree cut down in the town of Sydney. For these
stories and more, visit the Midwesterner at the Midwesterner dot News.

Speaker 2 (31:00):
Want to thank you the folks at the Good Feed
Store for powering this program today and every day. The
Good Feed Store making it possible. You know, you're gonna
be running around The holidays are here, folks, they saying,
But they really stuck up on us, didn't they. The
Holidays are here, and this is just touch season of

(31:21):
the hustle and the bustle, and you're gonna be on
your feet. You're gonna be cooking, shopping, all those things.
And why you do it with a little more comfort, right,
I mean no, there's no need they have to be
And I'm putting your feet up in the middle of
the day, resting because you thought, oh my goodness, I
don't know if I can carry on. No, don't let
that get in your way. Get going and stay going

(31:44):
with the folks at the Good Feet Store. That's right.
You can stop by the day and check them out
and see what I've been raving about for so long.
The Good Feed Stores on twenty eighth Street right in
front of Costco or in Portage on West Edge in
front of Cole's. Stopping and experience the good Feed feeling
for your yourself this holiday and the rest of the
year through at the Good Feat Store and you could

(32:06):
live life to the fulls Now, that's something to celebrate,
I'd say it is. It's coming up another big matter
of facts the season. Like I said, it is another
big moment folks to celebrate, and it is time. The
Wine Beer and Food Festival is back. Tis the season.

(32:28):
It's that time of year again, the International Wine Beer
and Food Festival Grand Rapids International Wine Beer Food Festival
at the Voss Place. Craig it up this weekend and
our good friend Don Baker's on with us right now
for the latest on this effect. All the last minute
preparations underway. Don so good to see you.

Speaker 7 (32:47):
Great to see you too.

Speaker 2 (32:51):
What a great celebration. Every year this has really become
like a massive tradition part of West Michigan.

Speaker 4 (32:58):
Now it really has the pre holiday celebration right and
so there's so many the great things happening in the
city of Grand Rapids. This festible, though, reaches way beyond.

Speaker 7 (33:12):
So it is an international event.

Speaker 4 (33:14):
But of course we love them about my opportunity and.

Speaker 7 (33:18):
Also on Michigan products.

Speaker 4 (33:21):
You're going to find both of those things very strong
here at the International Wine, Beer and Food Festival.

Speaker 7 (33:27):
But in addition to.

Speaker 4 (33:28):
That, you will certainly find brands that are from across
the country.

Speaker 7 (33:33):
And oh the.

Speaker 2 (33:35):
See I love that. There's such a great you know
you you bring up a great point. When you go,
you're gonna just experience so much. One of the best
things about this is not just to go experience the
things you like, but when you go, you're going to
experience the things you've never even known about. It's just
you're going to get a chance to discover things that

(33:56):
you've had no idea or even out there. And this
is the A Kent's year. Is that right?

Speaker 7 (34:01):
That is correct? It's the eighteenth annual.

Speaker 4 (34:04):
And I think why we are seeing the longevity of
an event like this right because there's many different tasting
events throughout the state, throughout you know, the land, if
you will.

Speaker 7 (34:15):
But what's different about this one.

Speaker 4 (34:17):
Is the amount of various food and beverage that and
then add to that that we also have a lot.

Speaker 7 (34:32):
Yeah, three days tasting.

Speaker 4 (34:34):
It kicks off with a charity event that beened last night,
and add to that the two full days of the
public being able to come into the largest tasting room
in the Midwest with over a thousand beverages to try.
And this year we have six pairing restaurants, twenty four
small plate options for people, and in addition to that

(34:55):
over thirty specialty and.

Speaker 7 (34:57):
Gourmet food items.

Speaker 4 (35:00):
So you are going to be as prepared as you
could be to go into the holidays. It is just
a great way to kick off this season.

Speaker 7 (35:08):
Season.

Speaker 2 (35:09):
So it's underway now until the twenty second, so you
can get out and enjoy and see each other.

Speaker 7 (35:15):
You know.

Speaker 2 (35:16):
The other thing that I know we talk about all
the fun you know obviously, things that you can discover.

Speaker 7 (35:22):
Are you there justin Oh.

Speaker 2 (35:23):
Yeah, can you hear me? Can you can you hear me?

Speaker 3 (35:28):
Don?

Speaker 7 (35:28):
Did I lose you justin I'm here.

Speaker 2 (35:30):
I don't know if you can hear me or not.
Are you there? Uh? Oh uh oh hello, we can
hear you and see you. I don't know if you
can hear me or not. But it again, it's another
magnificent time to get out and see people. One of

(35:50):
the things that, you know, one of the things I
like about most of most of all is when you
go to something like this and I've done it, you know,
a year after year, you get to see people that
are coming back home from being out of town. You'd
to see folks that you haven't seen in so long,
and it is fantastic. By the way, if you go
to the website, you'll find out more. Gr Wine Festival

(36:11):
dot com is the website gr Wine Festival dot com.
They're all kinds of great celebrity chefs. Isaiah Thomas has
got a champagne. You'll be able to do pairings and
check all the restaurants off your list, and I mean
just get in and explore and get inspired all just
in time for the holidays. Gr Wine Festival dot Com

(36:33):
and always a pleasure with Don. By the way, uh
if you know we lost connection there, that's okay. We'll
try and we'll try and get back on them. If
you get over there, you can say hi to Donna,
say hi to everybody for us. We may even see
you walking around this weekend at the festival. All right,
back Monday with morning. It's a short week. Next week,
Thanksgiving week. We're getting ready for it, back after it then.

(36:56):
In the meantime, we're wishing you the best as always,
make it a great one. God bless
