Speaker 1 (00:01):
Live from Higher Top Monroe Center in downtown Grand Rapids.
We're talking about what matters most to you when West
Michigan joined the conversation now at six one six seven
seven four twenty four twenty four. That's six one six
seven seven four twenty four twenty four. It's West Michigan
Live with Justin Barclay on Wood Radio.

Speaker 2 (00:21):
Welcome. Then the sun is shining where you can make
it out there. There is a bit of a haze
in the air today. That's the Canadian wildfire smoke again.
Uh w When are we gonna put a teriff on

(00:42):
them for the smoke? What I mean, somebody get Trump
on the phone and tell them to get this stuff
cleared up. It really is because they're so left they
don't want to clean up any of the forest issues
that they've got there. That's what causes he's out of
control wildfires and thus are it did the storms, weather

(01:02):
and traffic.

Speaker 1 (01:04):
His stories of the day. We are talking about what
matters most in West Michigan and beyond. This is the
Big Three now today.

Speaker 2 (01:14):
Three more on that smoke and some of the other
big stories that we're looking at today in our Big Three,
powered by our good friends a heartlett home mortgage, they've
got away and the team ready standing buy, wanting to
help you whether you need to buy, refy, home, equity,
line of credit. They can help each in every individual
their own needs. And of course they're faster, they're better

(01:38):
than the big banks. That's why we love them. We've
said thousands every time we've dealt with them, and you
will too, confident that folks listening to this program have
each and every time HHM lending that confu. Yeah. Speaking
of that air quality alert today, wildfire smoke from Canada
causing unhealthy air across West Michigan and to the north here.

(02:01):
Not fun for folks who have breathing issues, but also
folks who just want to enjoy the blue sky. Where
are they? Well, they're brown, especially North Divine ninety six.
You'll see these issues. Officials urging people that have those
issues that you know a now to limit your outdoor

(02:22):
activity if necessary. Smoke can trigger the breathing issues, heart
problems in particularly vulnerable groups, but for the rest of us,
it's just annoying and that's enough. What I've can say,
you know, slap an extra tariff percent or two on
top of those Canadians in the fifty first state. It's
just too much. I mean, seriously, this this seems like

(02:46):
every year now since what twenty twenty or so, we've
had this issue. A tragedy over the weekend unfolding in Lexington, Kentucky,
when a man killed two or a Kentucky church. There's
suspect there that the man first wanted a state trooper
near Bluegrass Airport, then carjacked a vehicle again opening fighter

(03:08):
Richmond Road. Baptist Church the name of the place. Two
women seventy two and thirty four killed in church and
just a tragedy. Two men injured, a one critical, one stable,
and suspect was shot and killed by responding officers. The
trooper in stable conditions. We prayed for all those folks

(03:28):
there in Kentucky. Authorities believe the man knew the victims,
and an investigation is ongoing and we hear more. We'll
make sure that you do too well therein Tisdaday with
talks US Special Envoy Keith Kellogg arriving this morning, focus
on boosting Ukraine's air defenses. President Zelenski got to get

(03:52):
Patriot missiles sent for the United States, but the President
says we're not paying for In fact, NATO is. So
things ratcheting up there. President Trump not happy with Putin? Now,
where are the Democrats talking about him being a Russian shill?

(04:13):
At this point? Where? Where? Where? Where are they? I
They're very solid, silent quiet, a little eeriely quiet about that.
And also the cost of eggs lately. I don't know,
I don't know. Where are they? Where are they? Now?

Speaker 1 (04:28):
Called Justin Now at six one six seven seven four
twenty four, twenty four at six one six seven seven
four twenty four to twenty four, West Michigan Live with
Justin Barclay on news Radio Wood thirteen hundred and one
oh six nine a f m.

Speaker 2 (04:42):
And lots of back and forth over the weekend. In fact,
I got a couple of major stories that I'm going
to try and get through. We had the one year
anniversary of the assassination attempt on President Trump, and now
now we're hearing more from the Secret Service than the
reports that come out of the investigation, particularly on the
Senate on this are just unreal. What we're finding out

(05:06):
they knew ten days before there was a threat on
his life, and they never let him know. Just incredible.
It's just incredible. I want to get into that, plus
the latest one, the Epstein Kerf fluffle, because there's a
lot of developments over the weekend. They had the TPUSA
at Charlie Kirk's folks down at Tampa had a big,

(05:28):
big event, and there are lots that came out of that.
So we try and get through some of that and'll
probably have to reserve some of it for the after show.
But first let's get into President Trump speaking about Putin
on the tarmac on his way I believe to assess
damage in Texas or this might have been on his
way to FIFA this weekend.

Speaker 3 (05:49):
Are you going to be announcing section from bus and
tomorrow We're going to see what we will see tomorrow.

Speaker 1 (05:53):
Okay, we have.

Speaker 3 (05:54):
The Secretary of General. As you know, Europe is announced sanctions.
I am very disappointed with President Putin and I thought
he was somebody that meant what he said and he'll
talk so beautifully and then he'll bomb people at night.

Speaker 2 (06:11):
We don't like that. Yeah, we don't like that. We're
not fans of that way. He's so funny because I'm
disappointed and I'm disappointed in Putin. Uh and he is.
He really is. I know, look, I I think he
thought he could get a deal done. I think he
thought he could get Putin worked out. In matter of fact,

(06:32):
I think Putin's in a pickle because now if he
backs out and he allows Trump to h if he
allows Trump to do what Trump wants to do, and
I think essentially what Putin wants to do, and unfortunately
you've got now you putin egg on his face and
and and he's just they can't he can't abide that.

(06:55):
You know, this, this fact that he's all you listen
to Trump and then this looks weak as China and
Russia both sort of try to pretend their paper tigers
in you know, lots of ways that they have strength
that compares to the United States when they really don't.
So this is this is sort of the predicament that

(07:18):
that Putin is in. And again President Trump is right
in the middle of it with him because he wants
to get a deal done. And then let's not forget
and this may be the most important part here, folks.
There are lives in the balance. Here, there are lives
at stake, and and that's that's what matters most. Here's

(07:39):
more of what he had to say on the Tarmaccas.

Speaker 3 (07:41):
I'm gonna have a meeting with the Secretary of General
that's coming in tomorrow. But we basically are going to
send them various pieces of very sophisticated military They're going
to pay us one hundred percent for them, and that's
the way we want it, and we've been trying to
get that again, I don't think Biden never asked.

Speaker 2 (08:00):
That's right.

Speaker 3 (08:00):
We're in for about three hundred and fifty billion. Europe
is in for a hundred million. That's a lot of
money one hundred but they should be in actually for
more than us. So as we send equipment, they're going
to reaverse US for that equipment. Doesn't that sound good?
That's the way it should have been a long time ago.

Speaker 4 (08:17):
But the.

Speaker 2 (08:19):
Picture filetain, I don't know if you caught that last part,
probably the most important part. We're gonna send them equipment.
NATO's gonna pay for it. By the way, he just
got back from NATO. You remember that big visit. Well,
a lot of these things discussed back and forth. So
why is it good? Well, we're sort of out of
the funding business, but you know now we're actually making

(08:41):
money off of this because we've got the patriot mess
is gonna buy from the United States, and then that
way they get well they need, they get their defense,
but they also pledge to pay for it, and he's
given some other assurances. I think in the background that
and during those meetings that that will end up helping

(09:02):
those folks, particularly in the NATO folks, get the job done.
So there you have it, a couple of big things,
like I mentioned. We've also got criticism over the Like
I said, lots and lots of different clips to play
for you from over the weekend. Criticism of Jerome Powell.
That's another big piece of the economic puzzle. It's going

(09:23):
to be putting itself together here in the next days
or so. But coming up, I'm just going to take
a quick break. When we come back, I want to
tell you about the new secret the new report on
the Secret Service, this threat intelligence days before the attempted
assassination last year. Remember remember this, we came millimeters folks,

(09:45):
and so much has happened in the last year. It's
hard to wrap your head around it. But so much
has happened in the last year. I will never forget
that day and how close we came, not just to
losing President Trump, but how close we came in those
moments to being I think just it's it's it's something

(10:07):
you only think about. It's incomprehensible, almost sent off the
cliff in some ways in this country, and you just
don't even want to think about what what, what could
have or would have happened if either of those attempts.
But essentially, in most probably the most brutal was the

(10:30):
it was the attack there in the Butler, Pennsylvania, which
how did a chance to drive through earlier this year.
It's an interesting area. It's it's not really it doesn't
look like what it looks like on televisions. Very mountainous
sort of area there in Pennsylvania, and a lot of
mountains in Pennsylvania anyway, but very rural and certainly Trump country.

(10:53):
I can tell you that much more on the details
in that plan when we get through that. Plus the
big which is doctor Fauci's auto pen pardon. The New
York Times has now confirmed it, and that that begs questions,
should it stand? Did Biden even know it was going on? Well,

(11:14):
they're they're busy trying to defend it all in the
New York Times. Well, break it down and get into
the legal ramifications on the way. Don't go anywhere. We're
back right after this.

Speaker 1 (11:23):
You'll news from.

Speaker 2 (11:25):
A trusted source.

Speaker 1 (11:26):
It's West Michigan Live with Justin Barclay on News Radio
one thirteen hundred and one oh six nine a f m.

Speaker 5 (11:33):
Here are your headlines from the Midwesterner this Monday, July fourteenth,
Time Robin Poffman, It's a Midwesterner dot News original story.
Under Governor Whitmer's leadership, unemployment claims here in Michigan jumping
one hundred and twenty nine percent from a week ago.
Wilt Hub says Michigan ranking forty ninth in the country,
second only to North Dakota's huge two hundred and fifty

(11:55):
percent jump. The Michigan company, Marshall Excelsior, is shutting its
three facility and laying off all of its employees After
close to half a century in Marshall, the manufacturer of
gas valves, will permanently close all three of its facilities
and lay off seventy one employees between this fall and
September and March of twenty twenty six. In other news,

(12:17):
President Trump talking about FED chair Jerome Powell on Air
Force one and Root back to Washington, DC Sunday night,
Trump criticizing Powell for not lowering interest rates.

Speaker 2 (12:27):
I hope he quits. I don't know if he could
have quit, but.

Speaker 3 (12:29):
He should quit because he's been very bad for the country.

Speaker 5 (12:32):

Speaker 2 (12:37):
No about Stami. The anniversary of President Trump and the
stable of the Butler event is incredible. I call it
the Butler event, but this is what they've posted up
on Twitter and truth over the week. The one year

(12:59):
anniversary one year ago today, at six', eleven eight minutes
after taking the stage on the grounds Of Butler farms
to address thousands Of americans gathered campaign, rally rifle fire broke.
Out an assassin's bullet came within a quarter of an
inch of ending my, life the presidents and silencing our
movement to Restore american. Greatness yet by the hand Of

(13:20):
providence and the grace Of Almighty, god my life was.
Spared that's. Important as we commemorate one year since the
harrowing events Of july, thirteenth twenty twenty, four we reaffirm
that The american spirit has and always will triumph over
forces of evil and. Destruction as there's more to, That

(13:46):
i'll put it up in the link so you can
actually watch the go look at the full list of.
That it was incredible and in his own, words actually
on the tarmac again just about that, QUESTION i believe
it was one of the reporters From Real america's voice
might have been that did that hit him on? That

(14:08):
so it's, president miss president in a? Year what do
you Think?

Speaker 1 (14:12):
Butler what was going through your mind this morning when
you woke. UP i know that you're Praising god you're.

Speaker 3 (14:16):
Alive but a lot of people want to know how
you're taking this, day on this one your.

Speaker 1 (14:20):
Anniversaries, god who is protecting?

Speaker 3 (14:22):
Me maybe Because god wanted to see our countries you're
better or do really well Make america great. Again But
god was protecting, Me, Brian i'll tell you it's the
more you think about, it the more you see. It but,
NO i JUST i don't like to think about it.
Much you, KNOW i have a job to, do SO
i don't like to think about it. Much it's a

(14:43):
little bit of a dangerous profession being. President BUT i
really don't like to think about it too.

Speaker 2 (14:48):
Much you will now we have to think about. It
we ought to think about especially with the new report.
Out the details you won't hear in the nightly. News
we have the latest and this is from The Senate
commission report led By Ser Chuck grassley and THE. Gao
they found a secret service they knew ten days they

(15:11):
had intelligence threat intelligence ten days before the attempt on
The president's. LIFE a new report showing at they. Knew
now there's even. MORE i think, anyway there's even more serious.
Information their internal policies. Failed they didn't share that intelligence

(15:34):
with local law enforcement or rally security. Planners The Senate
Hall Land Security committee described the failure as a cascade
of preventable failures and noted that not a single individual
has been fired despite multiple. Lapses the report includes recommendations
to improve, accountability intelligence sharing, procedures and the more to

(15:56):
prevent secure future security. Breakdowns but these people that allowed
to happen are still. There one of the craziest things
to me is they had a guy who's supposed to
operate a. Drone drone operator we've only had one hour of.
Training their drone wasn't working that day and somehow the
guy couldn't couldn't really figure out how to get the

(16:17):
drone up and, running but get. It just think about.
This not a single, person not a single, person has been,
fired and that is just. Unimaginable can you imagine in what,
world in what other, industry in one other line of,
work would that be acceptable at? All you fail almost

(16:40):
massively at your job in a way that though the
entire world gets to see it and you get to
keep your. Job it just there's a lot to this
that we still don't have. Answers, again it's been a
full year and zero answers at least to the extent
that we'd like to see stock futures. Sliding this, morning

(17:03):
more tariff fletter's going, out but we're not going to
see too much. MOVING i don't think it looks like
we got a little bit of red in The dow.
Futures will see what happens as markets open a little
bit later this. Morning but, again thanks to the folks
that help power the program guarding your nest egg dot com,
Talentwealth Mike lester and the, team they keep you sleeping

(17:25):
well at night and feeling safe on that roller coaster
ride because you, know we're gonna face it every. Day
it got to be up against it as we get
things back on, track and there's going to be a
little bit of volatility here and, there but there's no
need to be. Upset there's no need to be. Anxious
you can work with the folks At. Talentwealth mike and

(17:45):
the team are there with a, holistic personalized, approach a
proactive one at that it will help you plan for your,
retirement whether it's, today, tomorrow ten twenty years down the.
Road Mike lester and the team At talentwealth want to
help you and make you feel better in the. Process
sixty one six six six one one thousand is the
number you can reach out To Mike lester and the

(18:06):
team today at six one six sixty six one one,
thousand or go online to guarding your nest egg dot.
Com BUT i do it, Today do it now before
it's too. Late that's guarding your nest egg dot. Com
guarding your nest egg dot com and tell Him Justin
barkley sent. You that's some interesting, news isn't. It they

(18:29):
knew ten days in advance before the assassination, attempt and
it seems like they just let it, happen big big
news breaking over the, weekend and that that report From
grassley in The, Senate trump Saying god save me that.
Day and it is it's it's REALLY i think it's

(18:49):
it's comforting to hear that that he acknowledges that that
he knows that that that is that is. Important the
other piece of, this WHICH i found to be kind of,
interesting is as, well over the, weekend you have a,
big big stories out that are just flying around The
New York times and this is sort of sort of.
Quiet but they've done the. Work they've, Found they've Found

(19:13):
President biden did use the autopin or his, PEOPLE i
guess is probably the best way to put, it because you,
know REALLY i don't really know who who was doing.
This now they've tried to explain some of, it but
the truth is That biden and the autopin scandal is
it is it is a scandal that well, again it's

(19:36):
it's it's just not it's not going to go anywhere anytime.
Soon and we, ought we really ought to just demand
we ought to demand all of the information on this
in a bigger investigation into. It, now why is that?
Important because we don't know who signed, what when they signed,

(19:56):
it at whose, direction or any of these other, stories
any of the news that had come. Out we need to.
Know we've got to have this. Information it is critical
because what happened and how they try to sort of
backtrack on. This you Can't you couldn't make this stuff

(20:19):
up if you wanted. To who was running the? Country
who was running the country when they were all out media,
included they were all out sort of trying to gaslight.
Us any think about, now there's nothing happening behind the,
scenes everything's. Fine you Remember Peter dousey asking this. Question
it looks.

Speaker 6 (20:39):
Authentic in, fact if you look at the last, name
it almost looks like the president was having a hard
time spelling his last. Name there is This White house
of the opinion that the only pardon that would count
is one that the presidents signed and.

Speaker 2 (20:52):
Suck this Is this Is Carolyn Levin benness's, Question, peter.

Speaker 4 (20:58):
Very, interesting very interesting. Props if you want to bring
them to my office later SO i can take a closer,
LOOK i would like to do. That The president is
making a good point when he discusses the usage of
the autopen who was running the, country for the past four.
Years perhaps those documents were signed with the, autopen something
THAT i believe The department Of justice is looking. Into

(21:20):
as you, Saw Ed martin made an announcement at The
department Of justice this morning to launch an investigation because
The american people deserve.

Speaker 6 (21:27):
Answers is there already concern that this, president who won
the election on a problems to fix the economy and
close the, border that focusing and scrutinizing These biden pardons
is looking into the past instead of looking.

Speaker 4 (21:41):
FORWARD i think in comparison to the amount of time
this president has spent on securing the, border on fixing our,
ECONOMY i just read out for you an entire list
of accomplishment economic. Accomplishments look at the border, numbers look
at the time and effort he's divulged into solving the
global conflicts. Abroad it pales in, comparison but it's, still,
nevertheless is a very important, issue and it was a

(22:02):
huge issue that sent The president back to This White.
House The americans saw with their own eyes a mentally incompetent,
president and they want answers for, that and The president
believes they should.

Speaker 2 (22:10):
Happen something that Just, Roth.

Speaker 6 (22:12):
Carolina how mad do you Think President trump is going
to be when he finds out? That Elon musk, Said i'm,
sorry BUT i just can't stand it.

Speaker 2 (22:18):
Anymore let's pause that because it's. Old biden says he
had to use. It now this is, him he's completely
defending it. Now of, course this is part of that
conversation with The New York. Times you, know his reasoning for,
it why he had to use the auto pit announced
because he was half brain, dead said he had to

(22:38):
use the auto. Pin he signed nearly four thousand pardons
in clementcy orders at the end of his. Term to
Other New York, times he personally made each, decision even
if he didn't physically write every. Signature he's just just too,
many just too many for me to actually personally. DO
i don't know if you're going to buy. THAT i

(22:59):
don't know you believe that or. Not but it wasn't
just the pardons and the. Clements there were other things
that were done behind the scenes using the auto pen
THAT i think we need full investigation. Into there ought to,
be particularly in the weaponization, investigation the weaponsation of. Government

(23:22):
there really ought to be someone looking into all of
this and at great, depth maybe even a special. Prosecutor
so they say those auto pins are legally, valid long
used by presidents Including, trump and were necessary to execute
a whole lot of people. Swiftly now wait a, minute

(23:48):
execute execute. PEOPLE i can't be reading that. Right that's
that's that pardons maybe execute gardens, swiftly not execute people.
Swiftly that can't be it With, biden who Knows, republicans Including,

(24:09):
trump of the oversight in the house there That Jarah
James comer says they've launched those investigations looking into the
misuse of the auto, pen and they say it Highlights
biden's declining capacity a charge of. Presidents they're called ridiculous and.
False but here's the truth and and and just to
please just understand this that we may have used the

(24:31):
auto pin in the, past but never before did we
have a president that. Incapacitated never before did we have
a president had to drop out of the race because
he just couldn't. Run never, before never before did we
ever have this. Situation it's just we are in un
chartered waters, here let's so to. Speak we are we

(24:53):
are we are in some territory that we just never
been in, before and that that to me this, WELL
i mean we really The american people deserve they deserve,
answers and we need to make sure that it never happens.

(25:13):
Again that that, is that's clearly you may. SEE i
don't think it will ever happen. Again, well they may
not Be. Biden may might be somebody who's, like you,
know physically incapacitated in such a, way or they you,
know they're just not able to string a couple of sentences,

(25:33):
together or whatever it might. Be but at the end
of the, day maybe it's somebody who who is a
puppeter upon and placed, there someone who they have compromising material,
on someone who they have put in that. Position what
do you mean by, That, WELL i mean the media
covered everything up and worked as hard as they could

(25:55):
to make sure That biden was re elected and then
Eventually Kamala. Harris so this, person let's say they refused
just to sign, anything or they refuse to go along
with whatever it might be that the staff around, them
the deep state folks want. Done maybe they put something like,

(26:20):
THIS i don't, know but it is it is important
because the guy who could barely read a teleprompter just
admitted to everyone that he used an auto pin to
sign nearly four thousand pardons in. CLEMENCY a one of
them Was. Fauci's now, Again i'm gonna get Into fauci,

(26:43):
here WHICH i think is. Important my question With fauci
and always has, been by the, way the very important
distinction of the chat and thank you for. This the
only one he personally signed himself Was. Hunters the only
time you needed pardon is when you are guilty and

(27:04):
have done something. Innocent folks don't need a. Pardon. Now
we were Told hunter was. Innocent we were told That
fauci did. Nothing why did he need a? Pardon and
why did they let a machine do it? All Now

(27:28):
biden and his folks, say don't, Worry joe made every decision.
Himself was that before or after his five pm bedtime
and pudding? CUP i, Mean i'm not buying. It it's
not just, lazy it's. Dangerous we're talking about serious federal

(27:50):
crimes and essential crimes against humanity if you really talk
about some of the things That fauci was responsible, for
and long period of times that they set these pardons
up to, cover which is another fascinating and suspect, issue isn't.
It people are, convicted, sentenced already serving. Time that's one.

(28:14):
Thing but Then fauci, himself someone who hasn't even been, investigated, tried,
charged yet. Pardoned and the piece THAT i always like
to break just for, context just to give you an
idea of what we're talking. About imagine If trump would
have done. This imagine if we were talking about the

(28:35):
shoes on the other foot In President trump would have
been one using the auto pen to do all of these.
THINGS cnn would be running countdown, CLOCKS sd AND c
would be calling for war crime. Tribunals but because It's,
biden nobody's even talking about. It not a, peep not a, squeak.

(28:56):
Nothing you AND i are wide, awake and we've seen
all of, this and we retired of the back room.
This that's why we Elected, trump by the, way that's
why they put him in office again and record. Numbers
so is a reckoning coming that remains to be. Seen

(29:20):
the next steps of this IS i think somebody would
have to really dig into the process of which this took,
place do an, investigation and to decide whether or not the.
PARDONS i think The Justice department would probably have to
decide whether or not the pardons were legitet or, not
and EVENTUALLY i believe The Supreme court would have to weigh.
In so that's that's all of, that just to say,

(29:46):
THAT i, MEAN i, know whatever, HAPPENS i don't expect
it to happen anytime, soon BUT i want you you,
know at least it was worth talking about to at
least bring this, up because, again you're not going to
get this anywhere, else, folks just not gonna. Happen and

(30:06):
that's why it's so. Important the news you won't hear anywhere,
else the stories that matter. Most thank, You thank you
