Speaker 1 (00:09):
By from higher Top Monroe Center in downtown Grand Rapids.
We're talking about what matters most to you when West
Michigan joined the conversation. Now at six one six seven
seven four, twenty four twenty four. At six one six
seven seven four twenty four twenty four, it's West Michigan
Live with Justin Barklay on Wood Radio. Wow.
Speaker 2 (00:33):
What a weekend? What hey? Wait, we gotta unpack it all.
There's lots to unpack the stories that you may have
heard throughout the weekend. But there's a lot that you
some of you may just not have heard because it
was left out. We'll start with those big stories. One
of the biggest today they got him, the man accused.
(00:55):
They're shooting Minnesota lawmakers over the weekend. The deal is
possibly underway with Iran Trump reporting that he'd like to
see that happen. And more all coming out today.
Speaker 1 (01:07):
This word, news, weather, and traffic. His stories of the day.
We were talking about what matters most in West Michigan
and beyond.
Speaker 2 (01:16):
This is the big three. Now see the stories amout
of I should be talking about these around a water
cooled the dinner table, no matter where you are. Powered
by our good friends at Heartland Home Mortgage, Dave got
Away and the team wanted to help you whether you
want to buy, refy home, make what he line of credit.
We've done all three and save thousands each time, just
like the folks who listen to this program. HHM lending
(01:39):
dot Com nay and a team faster, better than the
big banks. But I got it. The man accused of
shooting two Minnesota lawmakers, and of course some of the
folks just just gone out of their mind trying to
figure out where he was. They found him behind his house.
The man accused of these horrific acts over the week,
(02:01):
Advance Bolter caught crawling around in the woods. Why did
he do it? One piece of media refuses really to
report on unless your MSDNC or some of these other
outlets who claimed he did it because he was Trump's barn.
That's it's not true. But I don't think it's easy
(02:24):
one way or the other. I'm gonna try and break
this down in some of the details. Like I said,
you haven't heard just yet. You caution anybody for running
out and making a big, big proclamation on this. President Trump,
though predicting Iran and Israel may make a deal. The
(02:46):
four straight day Israel and ran locked in deadly back
and forth, launching ways of attacks now turning entire neighborhoods
into rubble. And of course the stories continue to unfold
here what's coming out the death toll would and many
wounded as well. Rescue cruiser are working around the clock
searching for survivors both places, by the way, Trabaneathan debris.
(03:07):
While intention or international leaders urge folks in calls for peace,
here's Trump sounding confident by the way that they possibly
get something done here. Why they're doing why did detimate doing?
Speaker 3 (03:21):
Betweener on and it will well.
Speaker 1 (03:23):
I hope there's going to be a deal. I think
that's time for a deal, and we'll see what happens.
Speaker 2 (03:28):
But sometimes they have to fight it out. But we're
going to see what happens.
Speaker 4 (03:32):
I think there's a good chance he'll be a deal.
Speaker 2 (03:34):
He's using that idea of economic incentives. I think this
goes a little bit deeper than that. I know the
president's hard here, wants to see that happen. But wow,
we continue to pray for that issue in that area.
And will America be invloved. That's a whole nother piece
of recording him. Well, it's a big story, one you
(03:57):
probably haven't heard on the nightly news. USAID over the weekend. Folks,
remember that Big USAID was a part of the Doge deal, Right,
us AID folks who worked for that organization had been arrested.
Did you know that they've pled guilty to taking part
(04:17):
in a five hundred and fifty million dollars bribery scheme.
They violated the public trust. This all happened over the weekend.
You didn't hear about it because the mainstream media kept
it quiet. Wanted to tell you he just wanted to
take money from the people who needed it the most,
and he's just out there trying to slash poor people
in African All that could have been further from the truth.
(04:42):
As we heard the story this weekend. Well, you want
to know more about it, not just the headline. You
had to dig in just a little bit more to it,
all right, Hang.
Speaker 1 (04:50):
On call Justin now at six one, six seven seven
four twenty four to twenty four at six one, six
seven seven for twenty four to twenty four West Michigan
Live with just In Barclay on News Radio Wood thirteen
hundred and one oh six nine a f m.
Speaker 2 (05:04):
Yeah, here's the story. Okay. And and by the way,
like I said, this is I didn't see Lester Holt
covering this. I didn't see it on any of the
Sunday shows in some ways. But here's the details. Roderick
Watson a former USAID contracting officer based in Maryland. It's
(05:25):
pled guilty to accepting over a million dollars in bribes
in exchange for stealing at least fourteen contracts steering them.
This is how it works. By the way, if you
want to know how all of this stuff in the
swamp works, they get your money and then they hand
it out and that's the process. The man in the
middle makes all well, it makes out like a bandit.
(05:48):
There were fourteen contracts totally, five hundred and fifty that's
almost half a billion. It's more than half a billion dollars.
The bribery schemes spanned from twenty thirteen to twenty two two,
during which Watson used his influence to manipulate procurement decisions.
He received all kinds of perks. By the way, I
(06:08):
got all the details on every single bit of this,
and I'm gonna get into it coming up in like
the next half hour in the show here. So I
just I want to make sure that you know this.
I want to make sure that the story is out
there for you and that you've heard the details. But
don't go anywhere, because again, we're gonna we're gonna break
it down. I want to start first with the Minnesota
(06:28):
man and this horrific story. And there's so much back
and forth on this that I I know it's it.
You're gonna be tempted to say, well, this is what happened,
and that's what happened. And that's first. Some of the
reports I saw a guy worked for Tim Walls. Well
here's another crazy Democrat, but that may not be the case.
(06:51):
They're also out there trying to say he weighs a
Trump supporter, which may or may not be the case.
There's an interview with a guy now that claims to
be the roommate of this guy, who says that he
watched and listened to Info Wars, voted for Trump and
(07:12):
that's what happened. I think we may have a better
picture the more details we start to get. In fact,
there's some real interesting things that are coming out about
this is the thing about the Internet now and AI
and the rest of it that allows this information to
come out. I'm going to tell you, I just want
to say, before you go run it, no matter which
side you're on, before you go running off the report
on this or talk about it. It may just be
(07:35):
a fact that the guy was sick. That may have
been what drove this more than anything. So, but why
did he go and shoot these people? Well, it turns
out they had both voted. They had both voted to
not to allow a a a certain bill not to
(07:56):
allow illegal immigrants in this budget. They believe this was
the case for it illegal immigrants to to receive free
health care in Minnesota. One of them was a Democrat.
I think maybe both of them, but the woman who
was killed was a Democrat. And this was a pain
It was a painful vote. She had talked about it,
(08:19):
she had talked about how hard it was for her,
but she had to do this. It was something that
she felt like she had to do. This was something
that she felt compelled to do. It's a really this
whole story is just like I said, It's just it's
just one of those stories that you almost can't really
just put into one headline. Or another. I will tell
(08:45):
you this. He showed up with their homes caught on
camera like something out of a horror movie, wearing a
latex mask, dressed as a police officer pretending to be one,
in a car that looked like a cop car. I mean,
it doesn't get any more evil than this what we're
(09:06):
hearing about. The guy he did have a security company.
He had a security company, Red Lion Group. Vance Walter
was his name, right. The suspect in the shootings the
CEO of an international NGO called the Red Lion Group
that a Republican reporting can't find any photographs or digital
(09:27):
records of the work, only a generic website. The group
appears to have run out of funding a month or
two ago. This is the likely motive, as that is
when he started looking for executive level roles, calling himself
a doctor at some point. Rep. Melissa Hortman was the
(09:52):
one who was murdered yes Saturday morning. By the way,
this was all when the No King's protest, which we'll
talk of out later in the program too, that No
King's Day protests were we're happening, found inside his vehicle.
Maybe this is a cover for what he was trying
(10:14):
to pull off. I don't know, or maybe he really
felt this way. Where these no kings flyers found inside
his vehicle? So how do you make how do you
make sense of any of any of this? There's so
(10:37):
many conflicting pieces of the puzzle. Here's the photos. By
the way, we're showing on the behind the scenes livestream
right now, the guy who was captured early this morning,
clearly not happy to be to be captured. He is
dressed in looks like the same get up or the
(10:58):
same gear that he maybe wore or half when he
knocked on the doors. I'm not exactly sure, in a
field in there some woods there, it looks like behind
his home in green Isle, Minnesota. He's also accused of
shooting Senator John Hoffman nine times. Hofpmin wife's eight times.
(11:21):
They survived. Remarkably, Hoffman's wife bravely shielded their daughter from
the bullets. According to a nephew, I mean, just unthinkable
what happened this weekend. And then here is here's the
video of Democrat Rep. Melissa Hortman sounding terrified. People wondered
(11:46):
was this part of what she was worried about. Speaking
to the media after she voted no on healthcare for
illegals killed on Saturday early what Saturday month.
Speaker 1 (11:58):
I know that people will.
Speaker 5 (11:59):
Be hurt by that vote, and I'm.
Speaker 6 (12:01):
Uh, we worked very hard to try to get a
budget deal that wouldn't include that provision.
Speaker 1 (12:11):
I know that people will be here.
Speaker 2 (12:12):
It just you wondered how much does that play into
it didn't add a little bit of the craziness to
the mix. Like I said, you you have this weird
video with his roommate that comes out. Roommate alleging he
wasn't a Democrat, says he didn't like Jim Walls, he
(12:35):
didn't like Jim Biden. Well, sir, I don't know. Guy's
name is Tim Walls and Joe By who knows. Guy
may have just been nervous talking to the the prey.
He's got like a gaggle of press there. Then he says,
the guy listened to Info Wars. Now, I don't know
this is possible. I always question when they said, well,
who did they listen to? Who did what? Who did they?
(12:58):
Because at the end of the day, the mental illness
in this country doesn't matter whether you're watching Info Wars
or ms DNC thirteen or whatever. It is. People are
agitated enough as it is. They're agitated, they're they're on edge.
These programs can send them over the edge. But that's
not the cause of it. There's something a lot deeper,
(13:19):
and it'll be perfectly clear. It's a spiritual issue more
than anything.
Speaker 6 (13:23):
Can you talk about his politics a little bit?
Speaker 2 (13:25):
I know that I had some discussions of well.
Speaker 5 (13:28):
It's.
Speaker 3 (13:31):
Well, everyone's calling him a Democrat.
Speaker 2 (13:33):
He's not a democrat. He would be offended if people
call him a Democrat.
Speaker 3 (13:40):
But because of this board thing he was on for
Governor Walls, it wasn't he was a serve in the community.
Speaker 2 (13:52):
See he was appointed by Tim Walls to some sort
of business board.
Speaker 3 (13:57):
But yeah, you know.
Speaker 2 (14:03):
What, I can't believe a political issue.
Speaker 3 (14:06):
Would cause him to do such.
Speaker 6 (14:08):
Did he ever bring up the senator or the representative
who were targeted?
Speaker 3 (14:13):
Like I said that, you never talked about that.
Speaker 2 (14:15):
I didn't know.
Speaker 6 (14:17):
I wouldn't recognize or anything any politicians. He mentioned he.
Speaker 3 (14:23):
Didn't like Jim Walim didn't like Jim Biden.
Speaker 2 (14:30):
What would you say that, Well, I mean nothing from me.
I mean, it's just normal.
Speaker 3 (14:38):
Well, I don't like this that Tim Waal did this.
I don't like that he did that.
Speaker 6 (14:41):
Did you mention the protests that we're planned for you?
Speaker 3 (14:45):
What do you make of everything that's happened here? I
mentioned to him, but I don't think he mentioned anything.
Speaker 6 (14:52):
What would you tell him?
Speaker 3 (14:54):
I would tell him to surrender himself so he could
be taken alive, because he's like my best friend. I
don't want to be killed. I don't want to kill
anyone else, you know. I think if I saw, I'm like,
you're talking down on but that?
Speaker 6 (15:14):
And did he listen to any particular podcasts.
Speaker 2 (15:16):
Or this is a CBS reporter asking this question.
Speaker 6 (15:19):
Anything online that concerns.
Speaker 3 (15:21):
You, Well, you listen to inful words, in words.
Speaker 2 (15:29):
So the thing guy's going to talk about his opinion
about that. There's there's more information. I think that may
paint a better picture of what really happened here, at
least from a psychological standpoint. But I did mention, Look,
this is something you have to understand. We wrestle not
against flesh and blood, these types of things. I unfortunately
believe that you're going to see more and more of
(15:51):
this in the future, not less. Unfortunately. People are are
really I think more than ever pulled or pushed to
one way or the other on a daily basis. A
lot of that due to social media, A lot of
(16:13):
that due to the AI, the algorithm, the back and forth.
They know exactly what to send you. By the way,
just just just just delete it. If you ever find
yourself in a position in a place you won't even
know that it's causing it. If you're not feeling we
just just deleteed. It's not good for you. What it
can do to you? How can it can affect your
(16:34):
mood and your on a daily basis. You which you
watched the show or listen to the show, and you're
not feeling good because of it? Deleted? Don't watch it.
Take it out of the rotation. I don't care. I
care more about you than I do whatever. Now, I
know that's probably not you know something that the management
here once it let me say. But the point is
(16:56):
it's true. That's also why we try to give you
a little bit of the good news. A matter of fact,
I've got some of that coming too. So you don't
feel discouraged, you don't feel hopeless, That you feel empowered,
that you get informed, that you know what's needed, and
you have the action steps you can take. And by
the way, they'll never end in violence, folks. Never, That's
(17:21):
just not the answer. But we may have some more
answers about what was going on with this guy, and
I want to get to those coming up in just
a moment. I gotta take a quick break though. Back
after this West Michigan Live. Yes, we'll cover the No
Kings protests and more from the weekend. Don't go any week.
Speaker 1 (17:38):
You're smart speaker, smarter stream US, Okay, getting smarter Now.
It's West Michigan Live with Justin Barclay on News Radio
Wood thirteen hundred and one oh six nine A.
Speaker 4 (17:49):
F am cur are your headlines from the Midwesterner this Monday,
June sixteenth. I'm Robin Poffman. It's a Midwesterner dot News
original story. A chip maker invests two high one hundred
billion dollars in Idaho, New York, and Virginia, but Michigan
Governor Whitmer fails to lure this company here to Michigan.
The semiconductor company Micron Technology is boosting its investment in
(18:13):
US manufacturing by thirty billion dollars to two hundred billion,
just a few years after Whitmer's failed bid to court
the chip maker to build a new facility here in
our state. In other news, an a legal alien, a
high school student in Detroit, deported to Columbia after ignoring
a removal order for months. Advocates wanted the eighteen year
(18:34):
old to stay here in the US long enough to
graduate high school. He was arrested though, in May for
driving three other students without a license to a school
field trip, and he was stopped for tailgating a police officer.
And teacher's union boss Randy Weingarten has resigned from the DNC.
For these stories and more, visit the Midwesterner at the
(18:56):
Midwesterner dot news.
Speaker 2 (19:03):
This is this is wild video events. Boll to that
guy accused of shooting those two lawmakers giving a sermon
in the Congo a few years ago.
Speaker 5 (19:13):
And I'm just as excited about Jesus right right now.
And when I get excited, I want to dance.
Speaker 2 (19:28):
This is a guy who obviously and clearly had some
mental issues. Now, Uh, Folks, like I said, there's more
to this story, and I want to break that down.
And what data Republican has found that over us, She's
done some real digging. She's really good at that. With
the data research over on acts. We'll get into that
coming up. There's more to the story we want to
make sure you hear first. We check our headlines about
(19:50):
on the hour. We are back in just moments, so
don't go anywhere. By the way, stock market said to
kind of be up today, it looks like after it
well on Friday, we're up two hundred and forty seven
points right now in a Dow future. So we keep
an eye on that. But I'll tell you, no matter
what's happening in the stock market, okay, no matter what's
(20:12):
happening on the roller coaster ride, you can be prepared
and sleep well at night. As a matter of fact,
no matter what's happening with guarding your nest Egg. The
folks at guarding your nest egg dot com, Mike Lester
and the team ready to make sure that you are
prepared now whether you want to retire today or ten
twenty years down the road, Mike and the team are
(20:33):
gonna position you in that way so that you can
sleep well at night and not have to worry about
the ups and the downs. Why because they take a
holistic approach. It's completely unlike anything else that's being done today.
Reach out to Mike and the team at guarding your
nest egg dot com and fight m or at the
(20:56):
crazy train right off the rails. These days, I can
I can tell you that much much. All right, So
we got four council's second degree murder. Now, why not premeditated?
This is a good question. How on are do you
charge someone with murder not premeditated if they claim it
was by assassination? A manifesto was found in the vehicle.
(21:19):
Maybe those charges are yet still to come and they
wanted to just hold him on this don't. I don't
have those answers, but it is a great question. That's
State of Minnesota, County of Hennepin. This is the this
is the filing that we've got, and we'll put this
up in the stack a little bit later. Today everything
we talk about the stories of videos or things that
you might hear or see. Whether you're watching the behind
(21:41):
the scenes live stream over on Facebook, rumble x, Locals,
YouTube Getter, any of those different places, or listening here
live or archived either on news radio with thirteen hundred
one or six nine FFM, or the podcast on the
iHeartRadio app. You'll be able to go and and find
all of this stuff that we talked about because we
(22:03):
put it up online for you just so you have it.
So Data Republican has dug in. Data Republican is a
gal that's done some just fantastic work, a little autistic,
well instad a little a lot autistic, but very good
with data. Has been digging into DOJE, been digging into
all kinds of numbers and things that have been coming
(22:23):
out and got really popular recently because of that doing
the investigation behind it Seed. You've heard Glenn Back talk
about that several people, and know someone who's friends with
this individual will tell you some great things about him.
She says this in a post over on X. You're
not gonna like this, but it needs to be said
(22:46):
about Vance Bolter. At first, I assume that Vance Bolter
was just another grifter in the NGO activist space. He
built a fake resume, floated around volunteer gigs, and set
up show organizations for clout. His red L group has
no real paper trail. His side business in security services
looks like a cash grab, But the more I dug,
(23:08):
the more different it looks. Bolter was a seven to
eleven manager, but constantly promoted himself as a corporate executive,
claims the title is doctor based on an education doctorate
in leadership. He chased every opportunity to get in front
of an audience, volunteering for Governor Wall's workforce development initiatives,
speaking at conferences, anything to be seen as a leader.
(23:32):
And in videos of him in African churches, you see
him light up. He's performing. In fact, I just played
some of that, and it's funny that when I when
I played it, somebody in the chat mentioned, well, that
seemed fake. It seemed like he wasn't even yeah, it
seemed like he wasn't really even you know, serious about that.
(23:55):
And I see, you know, I think be honest with you.
I think you're on the something that That's something that
Data Republican also caught onto as well.
Speaker 1 (24:07):
And I'm just as.
Speaker 5 (24:10):
Excited about Jesus.
Speaker 2 (24:15):
Right now.
Speaker 5 (24:16):
She's got and when I get excited, I want to
dance Chavede don't see.
Speaker 2 (24:24):
And what Jesus did for me, which is really sad
because I don't know his beliefs. I can't tell you
exactly where he was, but I'll tell you what he
did was complete opposite of what anybody is a follower
Christ would have done. She goes on and says, I
(24:45):
think there's some good reasonably that James Hartline is right.
He was remodeling that building below into a church, She posts,
not to serve Jesus, but a stage for an audience
that would never come. I think he's a man addicted
to attention and status who tried to get it through
a lot of means. And while that attention is right up.
Possibly whoever cut him off of his funding in Congo
(25:07):
he snapped, She's and this is just the theory. What
unknown st there? So there is a manifesto, but the
Minnesota folks have not released it yet. I believe Vance
Bolter committed violence as a last desperate attempt to be
glorified under the delusion that killing abortion rights activists would
make him a martyr or a hero. This is not Christianity,
(25:31):
She says. I watched his sermons. They were designed to
provoke emotional applause, not spiritual conviction. His actions contradict the
standard Jesus gave us to recognize false prophets by their fruits,
you will know them. Matthew seven fifteen through twenty. Bolter
bore no good fruit, just narcissism, manipulation, and ultimately violence.
(25:54):
He wasn't an evangelical or maga. He was a man
who couldn't stand being ordinary. Wow. Wow again that is
a data republican over on X And again this is
all just we're just finding out more, uh and as
(26:14):
we get more and more, we'll we'll let you know
what's out there again. Maybe we'll see the manifesto, maybe
we won't. But whatever it was, this this is this,
this whole thing, and this strange thing about his wife.
How about his wife? She was detained. Police found the
(26:35):
suspect's wife with cash, passports, and ammunition. That that's a
whole piece of this. That'll that again will be you know,
we're gonna pour through this kind of thing as a church.
As she was talking about it looks like he was
turning it into a church, a church school. The photos
(26:58):
look like a church sanctuary. Maybe he uh used as
five oh one C three charity status to get the
property from another church and not pay property tax on
it as a nonprofit, but it does. They'll have a
satellite TV dish on the property. And I don't know
where this property is that they're showing, but it's it's
interesting again. What is most fascinating to me is that
(27:23):
we're learning more about people again and from people again
who are They are not your traditional media types. These
are just average everyday people.
Speaker 6 (27:42):
You know.
Speaker 2 (27:43):
Elon said, you are the media now and these are
people on X who are doing the sleuthing, doing the digging,
and they're they're finding out some things that again, uh,
even even the mainstream folks haven't reported just yet and
may not. Speaking of which, I've still got this story
about the USAID these guys, and you need to know
(28:04):
it because the media will not cover this. It'll be
hidden because it gives proof that there was waste, fraud
and abuse happening in the USAID at massive levels. In fact,
people say, well, how comes nobody's been charged, Well, this
story changes all of that. Plus, we were very I'm
(28:25):
just gonna put this way, we were very, very fortunate
that there wasn't any more violence and what took place
over this weekend at the No Kings events. We prayed
for that and I appreciate folks who joined join me
in that this weekend because that was a there's a
(28:46):
ripe opportunity. As well as the military parade and whatnot.
They took place in Washington, d C. And again most
of it went off without a hitch, and that is
something that I think we all ought to be grateful for.
But there was a moment. In fact, this is a
really good story where maybe it appears something was planned,
(29:11):
but it was divided. That's just maybe it was just
a divine interception. Somebody spotted a man with a gun
and he was taken out just at the right moment.
That story it is. It really is something we'll talk
(29:32):
about that all coming up. Folks don't go anywhere. Thanks
to the folks at a Good Stage Store for powering
this program today and every day. Sunshine, fresh Air, Beautiful
week on tap. If you're just like me, getting back
into the swing of things for summer. You got the kids,
maybe you're out running around. We got a big birthday party.
(29:55):
We're going to do that for my wife's ninety eight
year old grandmother. She turned ninety eight eight today. Happy
birthday tour. We're gonna be out. We're gonna be doing
all the fun things. And if you want to be
active in doing those fun things too, you can't do
it when you got foot pain, back pain, all the
things that used to stop me dead in my tracks.
And have you got foot problems? Back? Paying things like
(30:16):
that legs? You know it's not fun and it again
it gets in the way of doing all the things
that you want to do. I stopped into the Good
Feed Store and I've never stopped since. A good feed
store can help you today. Maybe take a look and
see what they could do. They did the same thing
for me and many others. If you're ready to tackle
(30:36):
your your big summer fun list, get back into the
swing of things. Step in the day twenty eighth Street
right in front of costco or in Portage on Westage
in front of Coals. Come in and experience the good
feed feeling for yourself the Good Feed Store. Live life
to the fullest and do it pain free. Folks were
back right after this with the latest to that coming
(31:01):
up in just moments. Stock market rebounding that day three
hundred and fifty points of so far the day I'll
look good. And the reason, they say, by the way,
is that oil prices went down and they believe that
the Iran Israel conflict is going to remain limited. Who
knows that's their feelings in a sentiment as far as
(31:24):
the markets goes this Morning Zone, do with that what
you will. I want to talk no kings protests, some
of that that happened over the week, and in fact,
one in Lancing, they're getting really under some heat for
their taking eat because there was some violent rhetoric. There
was some eighty six forty seven signs and things like that.
(31:45):
They were caught and a lot of this happened, you know,
the day that these people were assassinated in Minnesota. And
this is a this is a real problem because there's
this rhetoric and it all seems to come from the
same place. It's the media, it's folks on the left,
(32:05):
and they all seem to be sort of riling people
up for whatever reason. So that a that's a major issue,
a major problem, and one that needs to be addressed
in folks. I want to make sure that I do that,
But first I want to take cause. I got to
make sure that this is covered. It's a story that
you're just not going to get anywhere else. The USAID story,
(32:27):
the bribery story, this is the story that again Lester's
not going to cover on the nightly news. You're not
going to see it on MSDNC thirteen the CNN wherever.
It's a guy named Rodrick Watson, a former USAID contracting
officer based in Maryland, pleading guilty to accepting over a
million dollars in bribes in exchange for steering at least
(32:48):
fourteen contracts totaling five hundred and fifty million dollars to
two consulting firms. Now, his one million dollars is nothing
compared to the five hundred and fifty million, but think
about where that money went and wet happened to it afterwards.
The bribery scheme spanning from twenty thirteen to twenty twenty two,
which Washington used his influence to manipulate procurement decisions. He
(33:10):
received lavish cash perks, including cash, laptops, NBA suite game tickets,
country club wedding expenses, down payments on two homes, phones,
jobs for relatives that he wasn't alone. Walter Barnes, Darryl Britt,
Paul Young, all pleading guilty to conspiracy to bribe a
(33:34):
public official as well. They're the owners and president of
the companies that he was working with. Barnes additionally admitted
to security fraud as well. Watson faces up to fifteen
years in prison, sentencing set for October sixth. Barnes, Britt
and Young each face five years. These companies deferred prosecution
(33:54):
statements had met comeing a liability. They're going to have
to pay five and one hundred thousand dollars in civil settlements.
The Apartment of Justice emphasizing that the scheme violated public
trust and undermined the integrity of federal procurement, particularly programs
designed to support disadvantaged small business. Investigators highlighted how these
abuses threatened taxpayer dollars in transparency of USAID's mission. Now,
(34:21):
this wasn't something that happened overnight, and I don't even
know that I give like Doge the credit for this,
but it emphasizes exactly what was happening behind the scenes
in a lot of these cases, and particularly with USAID,
and what does was after And it proves because they
want to tell you makesrea media will be out there
telling you, no, nothing happened, there's nothing to see here,
(34:44):
nothing happening at all, and it's all on the up
and up, and that's just not the case. It's just
not true. So anyway, that is good news. They have
the story. You probably won't hear it anywhere else. I
make sure that we put it in the stack. Another one.
(35:07):
I'm just I'm just dumbfounded by sometimes when I see this,
but Senator John Fetterman over the weekend at Military Parade
two hundred and fiftieth celebration, the birthday of the Army,
the President there for a fantastic day, fantastic time, and
(35:27):
it was all shared. Fetterman, by the way, a guy
that you again, you just wonder, like, how does he
continue to make so much sense compared to the others,
his other esteemed colleagues in the Democrat Party. You tell
me there's video from that celebration this weekend blowing me away,
(35:54):
saying this, the parade is comprised of our sons, daughters
and fathers, the very best of us. Regardless of your politics,
it's appropriate to celebrate the two hundred and fifty years
of sacrifice, dedication, and service. I mean, can you imagine
(36:18):
common sense coming from a Democrat at least?
Speaker 1 (36:22):
Uh?
Speaker 2 (36:22):
No, I know it. It is something every day folks.
God bless
