Speaker 1 (00:00):
It's West Michigan Live with Justin Barklay on Wood Radio.

Speaker 2 (00:04):
All He's got one condition. He'll meet with the Democrats.
Trump says this, this is it. He'll explain. We'll fill
you in coming out and the latest. What they're continuing
to lose their ever loving minds about it. It's just
wild to watch it. Stories you want to hear anywhere else,

(00:24):
we'll get to that. And we'll hear from the folks
at the Treasury on the effects of the Schumer shutdown.

Speaker 3 (00:31):
I called the Schumer shakedown.

Speaker 2 (00:32):
All that and more coming up this morning and the
fastest hour in radio.

Speaker 3 (00:38):
It is West Michigan Live News, Weather and Traffic.

Speaker 1 (00:45):
His stories of the day. We are talking about what
matters most in West Michigan and beyond. This is the
Big Three.

Speaker 3 (00:54):
Now, yep, I'm telling you the stories.

Speaker 2 (00:59):
You won't hear them out anywhere else. You'll talk about
them around the water court, their dinner table. But it
may be tough to get some of the folks to
cover some of these and give you context like we will.
That's why we appreciate the support of Heartland Mortgage, HHM
lending dot Com. Dave got Away and the team ready

(01:20):
to help you. But we've used them several times when
we bought our home, refinanced it home equity line of credit,
and they can.

Speaker 3 (01:27):
Help you do the same.

Speaker 2 (01:28):
Some of the other folks who listened to this program,
they've seen great success as well as we see rates
are moving. Maybe it's time to reach out to Dave
and find out how they can help you.

Speaker 3 (01:37):
Today.

Speaker 2 (01:37):
Get prepared number one at HHM lending dot com. Well,
we are now moving into what is the third week
of this shutdown. Fune and Trump warning Democrats, look, Republicans
are united here. It's time to end this shutdown. GLP

(01:57):
senators met with President Trump. What was the yesterday? I think,
and from what we understand, they are they're not going
to budge, They're they're not moving. President says he will
meet with Democrats. He's got one condition though, open the government.

Speaker 3 (02:18):
Well that's our ball. That's the art of the deal.

Speaker 2 (02:23):
By the way, who's getting paid and who's not, we'll
talk about that. I got a whole list of these
want to update you go, I'm coming up just a
moment as well. We're skipping hang on, let's get back
to two plans for the latest summit with Trump. Russia
and maybe Ukraine in jeopardy right now. Well, here's why

(02:44):
they say things are going well. After a phone call
Secretary of State Marco Rubio had the other day with
the Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, the White House think there's
really no need for an in person follow up. Trump
doesn't want to waste the time getting everybody together. Oh,
by the way, think about this, the money of getting
everybody on an airplane and multiple airplanes and heading over

(03:08):
to Budapest where they said they were going to do this. Instead,
they'll just move forward, hoping that they'll continue to make
their march towards peace there. But obviously, you know, there's
been an issue with diplomacy stalling out, plans of sort
of frozen. We've seen more fighting in recent days as

(03:29):
well to the number going out. This is big news.
The arrests continue and possibly the indictments right along with them.
House Republicans have now referred John Brennan over to the
DOJ for prosecution. Former CI director has been referred to

(03:52):
the DOJ for criminal prosecution and accusing him alying the
Congress about the CIA's involvement with the discrediting Steele dossier.
Trump obviously at the center of that. And man, oh man,
DEM's losing well, it's not just losing their mind over that. Uh,
that's gonna send them down a whole nother rabbit hole despair.

Speaker 3 (04:12):
But right now they're focused on the White House. Have
you seen have you seen this?

Speaker 4 (04:20):
Hang on?

Speaker 2 (04:21):
I want to talk about shutdown and more of a
the sole White House thing. Oh, it's so funny. Let
me let me get into it. I will give me
some time here. Let's settle in. Grab something nice and warm, cozy.

Speaker 4 (04:33):
Uh.

Speaker 1 (04:33):
Call Justin now at six one six seven seven four
four twenty four at six one, six seven seven four
twenty four twenty four, West Michigan Live with Justin Barclay
on news Radio Wood thirteen hundred and one oh six
nine a f M.

Speaker 3 (04:47):
All right, so what's Trump saying the latest on the shutdown?

Speaker 2 (04:51):
And? Uh, well, you know, I think it's interesting they had,
uh they had a little bit of a come well
a conversation about this yesterday in the Oval Office. No
matter what KJP says. By the way, she's out on
a tour right now for a book she wrote. I
don't know who would read it. I guess there are
a few people that would buy it. I just don't

(05:13):
know that they would read it anyway. They asked her
the other day about I just think it's funny because
she's on some podcasts promoting the book and she's out
there saying.

Speaker 3 (05:25):
Yo, yeah, Biden talked with press more than Trump ever does.

Speaker 2 (05:28):
It's just it's so funny because every day we got
more clips to Trump and I've never I don't know
about you, but I've never said anything like it. He
loves talking to price probably those transparent there's ever been.
He was in the Oval yesterday talking about the shutdown
and his words for Schumer.

Speaker 4 (05:43):
But he would be I would say he would be
the leader of the part. He's not Schumer. Schumer shot.
He shot this poor guy. I feel sorry for my
known for a long time. But he's I think he's
mentally good, young radical and I think that Chuck Schumer
is he's guys.

Speaker 2 (06:05):
I really do you know that. I understand some of
this is hyperbole and negotiation tactic and whatnot, but it
is It's kind of funny because the truth that's interlay,
that's woven into what he's saying here, and it's it's
right on the money. The truth is that Chuck Schumer

(06:28):
has lost control and some of the most moderate in
that party that well, you might call him reasonable. You know,
if you look at that, that might be Senator Fetterman.
That might be the only person left. So everyone else
is sort of playing the game of you know, trying

(06:48):
to appease everyone and appeal to.

Speaker 3 (06:51):
Everyone, and you know how hard that is.

Speaker 2 (06:56):
So anyway, Fetterman is the only one with the khone
is to go out there and actually say, hey, you know,
maybe we shouldn't be so violent to everyone.

Speaker 3 (07:06):
It's wild. That's the guy.

Speaker 2 (07:08):
That's the guy now, and they're actually looking at like
like trying to move him out of the party, which
is that's a whole other thing too. But anyway, I
just thought it was kind of fascinating to see that
whole thing play out. And as I mentioned, it's it's
just a matter of time.

Speaker 3 (07:28):
It's just a matter of time. The AOC's of the world.

Speaker 2 (07:31):
The mom Donnis, did you see the debate, the last
and final debate last night, Mayor in New York City?
They got this crazy radical mom Donnie. It's not just
the fact that he's seems to be pretty out there
as a like sort of a Muslim extremus kind of guy,

(07:52):
but he's also a commie, a full on COMI They're like,
there's no getting around any of this.

Speaker 3 (08:00):
Well, they look who paid for the Marxists past weekend.

Speaker 2 (08:04):
They don't want you to know this, but the Communist
Party of America was one of the big sponsors. And
of course you can guess the people telling we got
to tax the billionaires and get rid of the billionaires
and we don't want kings anymore weren't willing to tell
you that the billionaire kings are the ones who paid
for that march.

Speaker 3 (08:23):
Anyway, I digress.

Speaker 2 (08:26):
My point is is Trump is saying Schumer doesn't know
what to do because that radical left wing of the
part of the same people that don't know who are
men and women, what women are, and who can breastfeed
and who can have kids, et cetera.

Speaker 3 (08:38):
Those are the people pulling him around on the shutdown.

Speaker 4 (08:40):
I think he's probably not going to run. It shows
that he's losing in every pole. Now this is hard.
You know, he wants to meet with me. Sort of
hard to be with the guy after I make a
savent like that. But I'm just giving you the facts.
I think Chuck is probably finished. I know some people
Democrats that would be good, some good policy isis and
some you know, reasonable people.

Speaker 3 (09:02):
But I understand that.

Speaker 4 (09:03):
They would not have a chance of you know, getting
even the concept of holding the torch. They're not going
to get it. But they have some people that.

Speaker 2 (09:14):
I really believe.

Speaker 4 (09:15):
They're low IQ people, they're stupid people, and they seem
to be leading the party.

Speaker 2 (09:21):
Now you know who he's talking about, right, I mean
that should be pretty clear.

Speaker 3 (09:25):
The bartender.

Speaker 2 (09:28):
From the Bronx right, well, she's not really even from there,
but you know, AOC that's who he's talking about. He
said he will meet with the Democrats the one condition
from the President do this first.

Speaker 4 (09:42):
I'd love to meet with them. I just want them
to open up the country first. You know, the country's
is so hot right now. And they've never voted against
you know, continuation, They've never voted again, They've never done that.
They're doing this because they have Trump derangement syndrome. But
I will I would.

Speaker 3 (09:58):
Love to meet.

Speaker 4 (09:59):
I would like to meet with both of them, but
I said one little caveat. I will only meet if
they let the country open. That let the country open,
that people want to go back to work. They want
to be served, they want to they need the services
of some people, and a lot of people.

Speaker 3 (10:16):
Need the money, the payroll.

Speaker 4 (10:18):
So I'll do it. As soon as they open up
the country. I'd like to meet, you to meet.

Speaker 2 (10:23):
Yeah, that's you want to meet. That's pretty solid. You
want to meet, open up the country. That's that's how
we can start talking. But you think that sounds kind
of hard line, maybe, but let me tell you why
it's not.

Speaker 3 (10:38):
Okay.

Speaker 2 (10:40):
First and foremost, this continuing resolutions, it's almost so good
for Democrats that Republicans could slash. Should be sort of concerned.
Wait a minute, I thought we weren't doing these anymore,
particularly not ones that Democrats and Republicans have agreed to
under Biden previously. That's what the spinning levels are. There's

(11:02):
nothing changed. They don't want to do that. And the
reason they don't want to do that is because they're
trying to undo everything done in the one big beautiful bill.
That's what they're trying to get Republicans to do right now.
Essentially an i e. Give illegal aliens free healthcare. You
don't even have that, but they want to do that.

(11:24):
And so, uh, this is this is part of that conversation.
This is part of that whole uh and and will
it will it.

Speaker 3 (11:34):
Play out thing?

Speaker 2 (11:35):
That's that's that's the next that's the whole next question.

Speaker 3 (11:40):
And this is the craziest part.

Speaker 2 (11:42):
If you can wrap your head around this, this thing
by the time they get it signed, if they actually do,
you know, they vote on it and all get it
agreed to. This thing is set to end in a
couple of weeks anyway, so they're gonna be have to
be back at the table again. I mean, it was
only supposed to go a few weeks into November, so

(12:05):
they can have a just a temporary measure in place
to keep everything funded. Trump says, get the government back
open and we can start negotiating everything else. Well, we'll see,
we'll see how it all plays out.

Speaker 3 (12:21):
Again.

Speaker 2 (12:21):
Truth logic and common sense explanations context for those conversations,
for the things that you you need to know, just
a part of what we do on the daily. More
truth logic and common sense coming your way. Strap in.

(12:44):
Oh yeah, we're talking to our good friend Joseph Lavorgnia
Liforgnia nomics over on X. He's Special Counsel to the
Treasury Secretary Scott the Scent. He'll join us on the
way on West Michigan Life.

Speaker 1 (13:00):
To engage it. It's West Michigan Live with Justin Barklay
on News Radio Wood thirteen hundred and one oh six
nine a FM.

Speaker 5 (13:07):
Here are your headlines from the Midwesterner this Wednesday, October
twenty second. I'm Robin Poffman. It's a Midwesterner dot News
original story. As if prices aren't high enough here in Michigan,
Democrat Governor Whitmer and Secretary of State Democrat Jocelyn Benson
imposing the highest ev fees in the nation here. This
as demand for electric cars and trucks low. Some dearborn

(13:30):
residents asking the city to order mosques to turn down
loud calls to prayer. About forty Christian residents filing a
petition with the city council and Vice President J. D.
Vance in Israel to ensure Phase one of the peace
plan between Hamas terrorists and Israel holds. Here's the Vice President.

Speaker 6 (13:48):
The only real mediators are the United States of America.
So that's the role that we're going to play. I
think the American people should be proud of. They should
know that there are going to be no American boots
on the ground in Gosam.

Speaker 5 (13:59):
For these stories and more, visit the Midwesterner At the
Midwesterner dot news.

Speaker 2 (14:08):
What about the shutdown? Scott Jennings has some interesting words
about it. In fact, the real reason the Dems want
the government shut down that is coming up? How came
Jeffries with a warning? A warning for you? Uh and gosh, yes,

(14:29):
KJP is out there talking about her book.

Speaker 3 (14:31):
I don't know if you've seen, well some of it is.

Speaker 2 (14:38):
It's the natural sort of press tour that she's on,
and she is out there sort of Oh. She sounded
just as crazy as ever. But you know what's the
most wild for me to watch it is her look
is completely different, like hair and everything completely there. I
don't know if it's extensions or how they do this,
but maybe it's all right now. I don't know the

(15:01):
gals and their hair. You ladys will have to tell
me how what this this works. But she looks completely
so I didn't recognize her at first, but here she
is contradicting herself. At one point yesterday she said we
had the clip. Oh yeah, No, Biden talked to people
more than Trump. Every dad Biden was always so here

(15:21):
she is a couple of clips from yesterday promoting her
book that nobody will buy, except that's the payoff they
needed book Dale on the course, who do you think
comes in and buys up all the books special.

Speaker 3 (15:31):
Interests and whatever? The billionaires and then that's that's the
way to kind of send them off. So here she
is saying, you're always honest.

Speaker 7 (15:40):
You couldn't hide the fact that he was aging.

Speaker 2 (15:43):
We were always honest. You couldn't hide the fact that
Biden was always agency.

Speaker 3 (15:48):
Here they're rewriting.

Speaker 7 (15:49):
Everything, and we saw that there were moments where it
showed that he was. No one is no one's is denying.

Speaker 3 (15:55):
That he is. Wait a minute, this is her just
a year there.

Speaker 2 (16:00):
I go.

Speaker 7 (16:00):
The sharpest as ever as I have known him to
be in my engagement, in my experience.

Speaker 3 (16:06):
With him, is sharp as ever. Get know, Wait a minute,
we couldn't deny the fact that he was always that
he was aging. Now I knows sharp as attack, folks,
sharp as attack.

Speaker 7 (16:18):
I know when I walk into the Oval office or
see him on Air Force one, I have to be
on top of my game. I do, I mean, And
that's just kind of my engagement with him and how
it's been for the past couple of years.

Speaker 2 (16:30):
The reason she didn't tell you why she had to
be top of her game, that's a whole nother story.
It's it's because he probably didn't even recognize her. Uh look,
I don't mean the laugh.

Speaker 3 (16:44):
It's not funny.

Speaker 2 (16:45):
What has happened to what happened over the last four
years ago, it's horrific, not just with the treatment of
Biden himself, but what has happened of course, uh, auto
pen running everything. That's probably the worst part of it.
But yeah, it's from a human perspective that was bad.
Here she is again, this was from yesterday, lying about
how much access the press got to buy it.

Speaker 7 (17:07):
We did have legislative wins and he.

Speaker 3 (17:11):
Couldn't wait.

Speaker 7 (17:14):
First of all, first of all, you're he did talk
about them, whether it broke through or not. He did
tim he did talk about.

Speaker 2 (17:22):
Wait, he talked way less to the press than Donald
Trump does. Wait here we go, by the way, do
you hear that he did?

Speaker 3 (17:28):
That's her saying, ugree with me, come on, augree with me.

Speaker 2 (17:33):
Now she's going to tell you that Biden talked to
the press just as much as Trump. Maybe more out
there at all.

Speaker 7 (17:38):
He wasn't good off the cuff.

Speaker 3 (17:40):
He was Let's just be real.

Speaker 2 (17:44):
It's true. This guy live in reality. I think a
lot of Democrats are frustrated with that too.

Speaker 7 (17:49):
That's not true, Tim, you're conflating all of it. That's
what you're doing. No, you're first you're telling me he
didn't talk well about it. Then you're telling me he
didn't talk at all.

Speaker 4 (17:57):
He didn't do either.

Speaker 8 (17:58):
He didn't talk, he did good.

Speaker 7 (18:01):
Were paying attention to what we were doing at the White.

Speaker 2 (18:04):
This guy fully grounded in truth, logic, and common sense reality.
She's she's You could see the nose getting longer by
the minute.

Speaker 3 (18:12):
I paid attention that I'm.

Speaker 7 (18:15):
Performance the president. The president spoke to the American people
a couple of times a week.

Speaker 3 (18:22):
Yeah, it's just it's just not true, none of it.

Speaker 2 (18:25):
And you you all have the memory, I mean, it's
just that we're talking about a year ago, if that
right to remember what this.

Speaker 3 (18:32):
Guy was like.

Speaker 2 (18:32):
Now, you don't have to go too far back into
the anals of history to see what that is. The
excrement that it is bofe uh that, by the way,
we continue coming up from the Treasury counselor Special Counsel

(18:53):
to the Secretary, Joseph Lavarni, you're joining us right after this,
checond Or Hal.

Speaker 9 (19:00):
I think if the President said today, I'd be happy
to meet with the Democrats if they stop holding the
government hostage, they could easily walk in there tonight past
the cr give us seven weeks. The President brings everybody together,
and my strong belief is that they would wind up
negotiating on a number of issues and they would come
to an agreement. The President doesn't want to negotiate under duress.
And the Hill today a Democrat senator anonymously said, none

(19:24):
of us want to vote to open the government because.

Speaker 5 (19:26):
Quote, we'd face the guillotine.

Speaker 9 (19:28):
That's their words from our base.

Speaker 6 (19:29):
Yeah, that's why.

Speaker 3 (19:30):
Look, I think you just made it very much the
real reason.

Speaker 2 (19:33):
Again, I just explained this, and I explained it a
little bit further behind the scenes of the livestream off
the air here, Facebook, Twitter, actrom will get.

Speaker 3 (19:41):
Our locals YouTube.

Speaker 2 (19:42):
All the different folks listening got a chance to hear this.
But essentially the Schumer shut down, which I now call
the Schumer shakedown, all the shenanigans from Schumer all come
at the fact, as your President Trump kind of mentioned
yesterday that he's been held hostage by this sort of
crazy radical AOC mom Donnie Wing of the party, and

(20:04):
he's afraid he's gonna lose power. In fact, it sounds
like he already has in a lot of ways. But
the truth is all of this still has a big
impact as it's going on. We're in the third week now,
and again I mentioned this just earlier. This whole cr
this whole thing is really reasonable. It's so reasonable even
Republicans might say it's a little too reasonable for me.

(20:26):
Conservatives might say it's a little too reasonable with this
continuing reson, But it only was set to go for
a couple of weeks here. In fact, it would expire
later into November. They'd have to do all of this
all over again. Democrats continue to drag their feet, Republicans
not gonna budge. And why you saw President Trump getting
the credit for holding I think firm in this his

(20:49):
approval rating as witnessed by CNN yesterday, we played for
you up actually up. During the three weeks of this,
humor shaked out from the Treasury counselors to the Secretary.
Scott has said Joe Lavourne, you're joining us right now
with the latest on this, and we appreciate you being here,

(21:11):
maybe breaking down some of the actual effect that people
are feeling right now because of it.

Speaker 8 (21:19):
The CEA House Economic Advisors just and estimated that we
could be losing fifteen billion per week and lost output
because of the shutdown. Clearly, there are a lot of
the essentral government service providers of people in the military,
law enforcement that are working without a paycheck, aircraftic controllers,

(21:40):
I mean from a security perspective, you know, you'd want
to get those people paid. But to the extent that
the government can't do its job, it can't do its business,
it will ultimately hold and throttle back US businesses. And
that's one of the reasons those CEA estimates are a
bit troubling, because the longer it gets, you know, we
keep adding to fifteen billion per week, and at some point,

(22:01):
you know, it could become even worse because the system
needs to reopen, it needs to operate. The Democrats are
holding the government shut down as basically hostage, only a
Republican's hostage, and you hope at some point some cooler
heads prevail that a couple more Democrats come over, because,
as you know, the Republicans don't have the sixty votes.

(22:23):
A Historically, Republicans have always supported clean crs when they
were the minority party, no less than fifteen support of
clean crs, going back before Democrat administrations. Over the last
four years, the Democrats themselves passed something like thirteen clean crs.
So this is politics as usual, but unfortunately it's the
worst sort of politics because it's damaging the economy, damaging

(22:46):
confidence in the US system, if you will. And you know,
I just hope at some point, as I said, that
some of the lunacy on the left moderates in a
way that we can reopen the government and get back
doing business with us.

Speaker 2 (23:02):
Right now, as a counselor to the secretary'scop the Senate
of the US Treasury, Joseph Levornia, So you know, it's
interesting because all of those things that you mentioned, I
can't help it here, and I don't know, maybe just coincidence,
but is that part of the goal here is to
damage the economy.

Speaker 3 (23:16):
It's doing so well.

Speaker 2 (23:17):
We got gas prices at what record, They're down the
lowest in four years right now.

Speaker 8 (23:23):
Yeah, basically and they're going to probably break that justin
I mean, it's it's basically I have to go really
go back to Trump one point zero because so much
production is coming online that yes, we're basically we're at
a four year low, but it's going lower. That's really
that's a huge tax cut for for Americans. That's huge

(23:43):
tax break for businesses.

Speaker 3 (23:45):
Yeah, it's massive.

Speaker 2 (23:47):
We're in the middle of that's I'm going to just
pick that out because it's one of the things that
I think is most clear and most obvious for folks.
I've never seen the left they're mad even about that.
They'll complain of about people getting more affordable gas prices.
It's insane to me.

Speaker 8 (24:06):
Well, I mean, yeah, maybe they want to hurt the
I mean, the president's done so well, uh managing the economy, Yeah,
and the stewardship of Secretary best And has been fantastic
that maybe they just want to It's hard for me
to be this cynical. Maybe that's right. Maybe this is just,
you know, an evil approach to just to kind of
destroy what's good. I don't know. I hope, I hope

(24:28):
that's not the case.

Speaker 2 (24:29):
I'm with you too. I don't want to think that way,
but at the same time, it is why it's it's
odd he said he will meet with the Democrats.

Speaker 1 (24:39):
Uh.

Speaker 2 (24:40):
One condition they've they've got to open The government does
not want to it does not want to negotiate under
your rest That's an obvious and I think pretty clear,
uh position. You don't want to be backed into a corner.
And they could simply just open things up. They're the

(25:01):
ones that have to come through with the votes to
make that happen. And essentially it just give us a
couple of weeks to really get back into negotiating. They'd
probably get everything they want.

Speaker 8 (25:14):
I don't know, justin maybe, I mean, one thing what
was really important about the one big beautiful bill is
that got uncontrolled spending.

Speaker 3 (25:21):
Sure, that's right on a.

Speaker 8 (25:23):
Much healthier glidepath. So what we saw as a deficit
this year that was lower than forty one billion lower
than where it was last year, one hundred billion lower
or more actually than what the CBO had predicted back
in January. But more importantly, justin if you look at
the trends since President Trump was able to wrestle control

(25:45):
of this runaway spending frame, the numbers from April onwards
show dramatic improvement, which means if you extrapolate those trends,
you're going to get a much lower deficit next year.
And why does that matter, Well, because interest rates come down,
Housing affordability, which was horrible under the prior four years,
will improve, corporate borrowing costs will come down. That will

(26:06):
help lift stock prices. Everybody benefits from those low rates
of statistical houses in order. So why would the Republicans,
having gotten this bill with the president's leadership a secretary
best of stewardship, why in the world would they want
to backtrack on this signature piece of legislation that was
signed on July fourth, to then put the US back

(26:28):
on the bud sustainable path that had been on under
the prior administration doesn't make any economic sense. And by
the way, the financial markets would hate that. They would
hate if the US reversed course. Because President Trump has
put the economy on a solid course. That's why that
is one important reason why stock markets on an all
time record high. Is optimistic that this golden era, this

(26:49):
economic boom which we've seen in the GDP data, will persist,
and it will do it in a way that generates
strong worker wages with low inflation. That was the hallmark
of the first Trump presidency and I will be even
more pronounced in the second Trump administration. But boy, let's
just get the government reopened and we could deal with
some of these other political issues later.

Speaker 2 (27:11):
You know, you kind of touched on some of this,
Joseph Lavorgnia with us right now, Counselor to the Secretary
of the Treasury. But this tariff wy, it's really starting
to become very interesting. Here in Michigan. We saw Stulantis
announce a big thirteen billion dollar investment. Not only are
we seeing lots of folks, you know, getting back to
making things in America again, we're also hearing stories like, hey,

(27:35):
you know, truck drivers are making more right now than
they have in a long time because some of these
folks illegals aren't driving anymore. So that's that's actually increasing
their pay in a big way. But this tariff thing,
I saw how much money is coming in from this
and you you sort of just touched on this.

Speaker 3 (27:54):
How big is that?

Speaker 8 (27:56):
Well, we're generating roughly thirty billion per months, so that's
three hundred and sixty billion per year over a ten
year period. Is three point six trillion. But remember, if
you generate three point six trillion in deficit savings, that
means your interest rates are going to be lower, So
there's an additional benefit from lower interest costs. Just the

(28:17):
debtish ranking at about three point three trillion using the
CBO Cororesional Budget Office numbers, you save about seven hundred
billion total and lower interest expense because the deficits lower.
So if you're at three six or even higher than that,
interest savings will be maybe eighty nine hundred maybe a
trillion in savings. So it's a huge number. But what's important,

(28:40):
Justin is it's not the tariffs that will bring in
the revenues in places like Michigan, which are so important
to the industrial backbone of the US economy. President Trump's
policies are encouraging capital to come into the US capital,
to remain in the US capital, to be used to
build factories, to create American jobs. That's all part of

(29:01):
the One Big, Beautiful Bill, and the Treasury with the
IRS is working to codify and finalize all this rule making,
which at some point John Justin will suffer from the
government being shut down because we need to have that
final tally on what the full expensing of capital equipment
looks like. We need to know exactly on the factory expensing,

(29:23):
which is the first time ever you build a factory
in Michigan you could expense that whole structure year one.
That is hugely positive for creating eye paying jobs and
getting the industrial heartland and the US manufacturing base back.
And with the Democrats keeping the government closed, eventually this
persists a lot longer the ability for us to finalize

(29:45):
this bill in time, or the details are going to
be compromised. That's just not good for anybody.

Speaker 2 (29:52):
There's a counselor too, the Secretary of Treasury there at
of course, the latest conversation on this Livornia Nomics Joseph Lavorgnia.
If you want to look him up on X great

Speaker 3 (31:40):
Is Trump gonna pardon Puffy?

Speaker 2 (31:43):
Oh? The latest clickbait news you got to hear next
straight it out.

Speaker 5 (31:50):
Here are your headlines from the Midwestern Or this Wednesday,
October twenty second. I'm Robin Poffman. It's a Midwesterner dot
News original story. Dozens of dearborn residents who are Christian
want the city to do something about the loud calls
to prayer broadcast by Mosques through loudspeakers in the city,
which is predominantly Muslim. About forty residents submitting a petition

(32:11):
to the city council asking to help to restore their
quality of life and tranquility. Prices going up, up and away.
Democrat Governor Whitmer and Secretary of State Democrat Jocelyn Benson
ushering in the highest registration fees for evs in the country,
a move critics say will impact the transition to electric vehicles.
And Vice President Vance along with his wife Usha and

(32:31):
Israel to shore up phase one of the peace plan
between Hamas terrorists and Israel. The goal of the trip
to make sure the deal holds.

Speaker 6 (32:39):
Right now, I feel very optimistic. Can I say with
one hundred percent certainty that it's going to work.

Speaker 4 (32:43):
No.

Speaker 5 (32:43):
For these stories and more, visit The Midwesterner at the
Midwesterner dot.

Speaker 2 (32:47):
News back after it, and of course the fastest hour
in radio is underway.

Speaker 3 (32:57):
Every day we go through this, you know, it just
flies flies right on by.

Speaker 2 (33:04):
So we try to cover the stories that you need
to hear, like look at the things and go, okay,
what's the biggest Like a little bit later on the
after show, we're going to talk about what's happening with
gold and silver the Ronet's been on lately, and when I
think where we're headed next, why it matters? Plus A
staggering their statistic. This is wild to be but not surprisingly,
not just with the economy in itself, but also just

(33:27):
with the way sort of culture.

Speaker 3 (33:29):
In society works.

Speaker 2 (33:30):
But mom and dad are footing the bill for lots
of folks right now. Guess how much to the tune
of guess how much mom and dad are giving monthly
to their kids on average? I think staggering numbers. So
we've got some economic data we're going to get into,

(33:50):
which I know sounds boring, but this whole idea of
like just giving money to your kids thing is kind
of wild to me. But you know, a little gift
here and there, little emergency help with something is one
thing but just having like a like a standing monthly.
Oh yeah, this is this is mom money coming in,
this is dad though, And look, if you're doing it,

(34:12):
that's up to you. It's between you and your kids.
I guess I don't. I would rather than come to
me than have to. But you know, it is, it's
it's I think, a fascinating piece of the story that
has to be looked at. We're gonna talk about it
coming up again. Like I said during the after show,
the show after this, oh yeah, and the latest from
the meltdown over this White House construction.

Speaker 3 (34:37):
Issue is just it's just hilarious.

Speaker 2 (34:39):
It's it is. It's almost too funny. When you watch,
you kind of think to yourself, how in the world
did we get here?

Speaker 3 (34:47):
All right? So there is a bit of can I
got it?

Speaker 2 (34:50):
One of the things that I think is probably biggest
on my heart for some things, folks, And I'll just
tell you one of the biggest is to me is
sort of debunking Well maybe I don't even know if
that's the right word to use it, but yeah, I
guess clearing the air on clickbait.

Speaker 3 (35:09):
What do I mean by that? I saw?

Speaker 2 (35:13):
I guess it was yesterday many of the day before.
But it's it's run. It's been all over Oh my gosh,
is Trump gonna pardon Diddy? Puffy huff Daddy. And it's
been on all of these sites, and like even supposed
like I would say, like the sites it's trying to
trying to play off like their actual news sites, even

(35:36):
local TV stations. You know, well, this is a guy,
of course, you know, he got in big, he got
hot water. Lord knows what he was doing at the
Diddy parties, that's a whole new thing. And he got
into hot water. Over all of that, and on top
of it, he you know, yeah, you had the video

(35:57):
what he did to his girlfriend and whether or not
he was arranging you know, some sort of I think
that barely scratched the surface what he got charged for
what he was up to. Let's just put it that way. Now,
he's kind of a bad ombrelle. Let's just say that
bad dude. So the question is he gonna pull Well,
you know where this comes from. Again, this is a
whole First of all, it's a clickbait thing that they're

(36:19):
selling because they thought, well, this will get us folks watching,
This will get us folks following clicking, reading whatever they
get paid for, and they all have different things they're
getting paid for, all these different media sites and whatnot.
But the left also loved it because right now they're

(36:41):
trying to lump Trump in with Epstein and all that
other stuff. So they said, well, he'll probably pardon Puffy,
and the thing took off. So we got to clear
the air. The White House says it ain't happening. Rumors
of an imminent pardon for Puffy not accurate. The president

(37:01):
not anonymous sources, the final decider on pardons and commutations,
according to the White House, denying rumors first circulating by
TMZ of all places, trying to push that garbage, probably
against trying to sell clicks, people coming to the website
and all that. So anyway, they reported a high ranking

(37:25):
White House official confirming Trump was considering commuting the fifty
month sentence you know, over four years, that he could
be free as early as this week.

Speaker 3 (37:36):
He just did that with George Santos.

Speaker 2 (37:38):
Not a chance, not a chance, they're saying, So take
that as you will have to clear the air on
some of this stuff. Let's get into our conversation on
the after show. That's the show. After the show, we'll
do just that. You can listen live or archive Facebook,
