comes next, what it means. As we're already starting to
see markets react, We're gonna get into that too this morning.
And we just got news the officer Sure Trial and
Chris Becker, the prosecutor in Kent County, were breaking new.
Speaker 3 (01:05):
News, weather and traffic. I'm big his stories of the day.

and beyond. This is the Big three now say speak three.
Speaker 2 (01:18):
Yeah, the stories no matter about you'd be talking about
these around the water cool They did a table no
matter where you are.
Speaker 4 (01:22):
We call it the.
Speaker 2 (01:23):
Big Three, powered by are good friends at Heartland Home
Mortgage Dave Gataway and the team. How are you ready
to buy? We fine home equity line of credit reverse.
But they had got every single need. You can imagine
custom solutions for them all. You know, we've bought refinounced
within a home equity line of credit with David the team.
They're faster, the quicker, the better than in the big banks,
(01:44):
and we've saved like thousands every time we've done it
in some of the other folks listening to this program
half as well. HHM lindn dot com the best let
to reach out. Well, let's pass the big breaking, beautiful
bill passing this morning at six thirty around that time,
and the vote line.
Speaker 4 (02:03):
Was two fifteen to two fourteen.
Speaker 2 (02:06):
In fact, here's a little audio and video for folks
watching on the behind the scenes live stream of that moment.
Mike Johnson, the speaker, making the announcement of Calm House.
Speaker 5 (02:17):
On this vote, they's a two hundred and fifteen, the
nayser two hundred fourteen with one answering present, the bill
is passed.
Speaker 6 (02:28):
There you have it.
Speaker 2 (02:33):
Let's say, yeah, they a little bit of a celebration,
a little bit of a moment inside the house.
Speaker 4 (02:45):
Is morning, a very cool moment, by the way.
Speaker 2 (02:50):
Number two, Yeah, the markets are already starting to react.
We're going to have the latest on this, the details
you're gonna want to hear this morning. Two is diplomat
shot in killed. A horrific event there. It happened during
the vent Capital Jewish Museum there in Washington, DC. Anti
Semitic attack is what they're calling it. CNN reporting the
(03:13):
suspect left on a motorcycle, shouted free Palace. That video
of the suspect being handcuffed could be watched.
Speaker 4 (03:20):
The details about this.
Speaker 2 (03:22):
And by the way, we'll have it all up on
the stack today or continuing to come out. The most tragic,
the most horrific part about this of violence that took
place and did those two individuals were learning this morning
that they were soon to be engaged. A man had
just bought there were a couple and he'd just bought
a ring just days ago.
Speaker 4 (03:43):
Just terrific.
Speaker 2 (03:46):
Well, speaking of which, we just received word from the
producers in here that around eleven thirty this morning, we
are expecting a press conference and announcement. Prosecutors will announce
the decision on whether or not they're going to retry
Officer Christopher Sure. And it's Officer Prosecutor Christopher Becker's office
(04:12):
supposed to have that announcement, I believe around eleven thirty
this morning. And I know folks have been praying throughout
this entire ordeal for Officer Sure. And of course the full.
Speaker 4 (04:25):
Details are on the way this morning.
Speaker 2 (04:28):
So, as I said, we just got that announcement this morning, which,
like I said, it's going to just jam pack this
whole thing today with even more more news, bigger, bigger
(04:50):
than you can imagine. But listen, we're fired up and
ready to go. I glad you're here. Let me give
you a chance to weigh in today whether you think
that Sure we'll be retrying or not.
Speaker 4 (05:07):
Are they gonna drop it? I just said that, and
I'll give you mine.
Speaker 2 (05:10):
I just gave my my spiel to producer Adham in
the booth. I'll tell you what I think coming up
here segment. Again, I don't have a crystal ball on this.
Love to hear from you. On the one big beautiful
bill anything, Let's talk about what's inside it, concerns or not.
Speaker 1 (05:22):
We'll get care called Justin Now at six one six
seven seven four, twenty four twenty four at six one
six seven seven four twenty four twenty four West Michigan
Live with Justin Barclay on News Radio Wood thirteen hundred
and one oh six nine f M.
Speaker 4 (05:40):
All right, so let me let me let me start.
Speaker 2 (05:44):
I'll start with Christopher sure, because that bill is is uh,
it's big news.
Speaker 4 (05:49):
We're gonna get to that too.
Speaker 2 (05:49):
But but I think I want to start that this
is more pressing, and it's more of the breaking news.
I can't tell you either way on this that I
just have a feeling, and I could be wrong, but
I have a feeling you don't. You don't have a
press conference to announce that you're not going to retry
the thing.
Speaker 4 (06:11):
I think that's a press release.
Speaker 2 (06:13):
I think that's an that's a simple announcement that could
be made online. I think you only come out if
you want to make a splash in the media. Now,
that could be wrong, but I'm just telling you that's
that's kind of what I my feeling on this guy.
And I and I hate to see it and I
(06:34):
hate to hear it because it's this this thing was
so open and should I hate to even have to
go back to it. But he's living it, Sure is
living it. The family of Patrick Leya is living it.
And the entire not just the city of Grand Rapids,
but the entire West Michigan air we're living it and
and the rest of the rest of the state have
(06:55):
been paying close to attention to this. But there's an
open and shutcase for so many people that watched it,
not only watched the video of this when it came
out three years ago, but also watched the entire trial process,
and we got a great In fact, if you missed it,
we had a great podcast but love of self defense attorney.
Speaker 4 (07:16):
His name is Andrew Britt.
Speaker 2 (07:24):
I can't remember his last name, Brock will break it anyway,
great guy, fantastic expert, and the guy walked through at
matter of fact, he watched and livestream the entire trial,
talking about what the defense, by the way, criticism for
the fence and the prosecution throughout the entire thing. He
walked through, Here's what I should have Here's what I
(07:45):
could have should have done here and there's what I
should have could have done there.
Speaker 4 (07:48):
And I'm telling you.
Speaker 2 (07:53):
Watching that, but watching the other pieces myself as well,
just just just seeing what I said. Here's all I
need to hear. Officer Sure was reasonably in fear for
his life. He had authorized the use of deadly force
at that point. At that point, now the defense themselves,
(08:14):
even the defense all witness from the Taser company, admitted
the taser was a dangerous weapon. Admitted that the Patrick
Leoya at the time, the suspect had his hand on
the taser and he had switched from the one hand
to the dominant hand. He was trying to gain control
of the thing and look for all intents and purposes
(08:36):
like he was going to use it or try to
use it on Officer Sure. Now, these guys leave their
home in the morning. I'm not saying that none of
them don't make any mistakes at all. Ever, that's what
I was saying. But they leave their home in the morning,
never know when they kissed their wife, their kids goodbye.
Can you imagine I just did this to come here.
You imagine I gotta leave thinking I don't know whether
(08:58):
I'm gonna come home, And now I guess none of
us do. But you know, those jobs, certain professions. That's
a real situation. And since this trial has even ended,
matter of fact, as they were wrapping the thing up
and we were getting a verdict, just that week, we
had three cops that were killed or shot here in
the in the state in Michigan alone. Now since then,
how many others have died or been killed in the
(09:19):
line of duty or injured or attacked, et cetera. It's
it's just a very dangerous and it's more dangerous and
deadly by the day.
Speaker 4 (09:29):
So if they decide to retry, hop they do.
Speaker 2 (09:33):
It in the debta winner number one to avoid all
sorts of impact from.
Speaker 4 (09:41):
What what might come uh with reaction.
Speaker 2 (09:48):
As those folks are being sort of riled up the
base of of of uh, the folks of the Leoy camp,
and it's that's that's essentially well, it's a lamb, it's
all of that. So anyway, I I'm praying again still
for this city. I'm praying for Officer Sure, I'm praying
(10:11):
for Patrick Leoya's family too, And I know that that
people have a hard time understanding that, But look, I
just I wouldn't want anybody to go through any of this,
and I know sure wouldn't, but he wanted to go
home that day to his family and then and that's
and that's where we are. And I don't know, maybe
I've left some things out, but today at eleven thirty, well,
(10:31):
we'll know one way or the other whether Prosecutor Christopher
Becker is going to retry this case or not. So
that's that's the story was sticking. Well, talk about the
one big, beautiful bill. I want to hear from you too.
There's some questions in the chatter this wing, like what's
in the bill, what's it going to do? And people
want to know some of these basic details. I want
to get into all of it coming up. You can
(10:57):
jump on the phone with us at any time. The
program continuous. We are rolling on here back in moments
on West Michigan Live.

Speaker 5 (11:21):
Here are your headlines from the Midwesterner this Thursday, May
twenty second. I'm Robin Poffman. It's a Midwesterner. Dot News
original story Michigan House Speaker Republican Matt Hall, raising concerns
that Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson may use her position
to influence the twenty twenty six scubernatorial election by disqualifying
(11:42):
candidates from the ballot on technical grounds. Benson is a
candidate to replace fellow Democrat Governor Gretchen Whitmer, who is
term limited in twenty twenty six. Thanks to President Trump,
folks here in Michigan seeing lower gas prices ahead of
the Memorial Day holiday weekend, Michigan expect to see near
record travel, with Triple A predicting about one point three
(12:04):

miles from home from today through Monday to Washington, d c.

Speaker 2 (12:45):
Dot news at big beautiful bill has just passed the Hill,
well at least one portion of it. Anyway, in the
House last night fifteen two fourteen, that's all they needed.
Speaker 1 (12:59):
Great big viaut of a bill.
Speaker 2 (13:00):
It's a beauty. There's never been a bill like this one.
Speaker 4 (13:07):
Well, people are asking what's inside of it? What's it
going to do?
Speaker 2 (13:09):
All right, So this is what we know so far
from what we've gotten. That it wasn't made it through
because they were working overtime late last night, six thirty
in the morning. This thing had to go through. So
here's what we got. No tax on tips or overtime
and social security. We heard there is tax relief in there.
That that not the no tax. You know, people were
(13:30):
asking about, wait a minute, what's so, what's what exactly
are we getting? No? No, So there's there's there's some
of this that there's you know, it's probably probably saying
I wanted no tax. Well, nobody wants to pay tax
on anything. I understand that, I get it. How does
that affect tax owed on your something all year to
(13:51):
date gross SOUOL companies be required. I'm not a look,
I'm not an account I have no idea how do
they keep track of all that. I'm figured they'll figure
it out. So, but I've been some of this stuff.
I can't answer for you because at the end of
the day, I gotta don't have any clue, you know,
what the actual accounting methods. But I know they're figured.
(14:15):
I trust they will. They're gonna figure all of this
out and it it will be it'll be really think
about this, tips, this is this is service industry. And
then anybody from driving an Uber and while I was
in Downs last week, I see all this, you know,
I mean, this is a this is an industry. Anybody
driving an uber to pick it up door dash or
(14:37):
even working at restaurants. These are these are big and
and lots of folks h So that's a that'll be
a big one for folks, A big boon one hundred
and seventy five billion for deportations and the wall. Somebody
asked me about this the other day too, which I
think is kind of interesting. This is this is brand new. Hey,
what's up? With a wall. Well, on one hand, I
(14:59):
say to myself, you know, I don't know if you've
seen the pictures from down the south of the border.
Speaker 4 (15:05):
We don't necessarily need the.
Speaker 2 (15:06):
Wall these days as much as we needed it when
Biden was in office. A lot of that's because of
Trump and his hard stance, and of course there's some
of that that you know, you see Tom Holman out there,
and this just a palsy shift is all it's been.
And then the mouthpieces to go out there and say, look,
we're closed, the doors closed, but they are still yet
(15:27):
building more wall and more high tech portions of it,
and why and want to make sure that it's not
just people coming across because they want to get in
here for one reason or the other. But it's it's
it's it's a smuggling of the drugs as well as
a fenderal. It's a big, big deal. So it's another
big reason why this national security purpose as well. Sure
(15:51):
terrorism that's going to be part of it, but it's
another big reason why they've got to continue with that.
Speaker 4 (15:55):
And I mentioned the tax reliefs for seniors.
Speaker 2 (15:57):
I know, I'm just barely scratching the surface on this,
making all of the twenty seventeen Trump tax cuts permanent.
I think we're gonna see more on the way. I
think there's an appetite to see more, but this had
to get done first. And now that this is done,
or essentially it looks like will be shortly, I think
you're gonna see a whole new gear.
Speaker 4 (16:21):
Shift in.
Speaker 2 (16:22):
So President Trump's big beautiful, one big beautiful bill underway.
We got the House passing it. So what happens next.
It'll go to the Senate where it doesn't have to
go through all the usual rigamarow. It just needs a
majority of it. They're gonna get it. They're gonna get it,
and then Trump's gonna sign it, and then this one
big beautiful bill the budget going to effect out. Yet
(16:43):
another question about this is, and I think it's fair
to ask, because we're gonna be watching this closely as well,
what are the markets reacting? Well, right now, the futures
are down at the Dow about one hundred points s
and p down about four. We'll see what happens when
the markets open. Bond markets might have a little bit
of a different thought on this, because there's a lot
of spending still happening. There are some people that are
(17:04):
very upset that we didn't see the cuts that the
Doge promised. I think all of that's coming. I would say,
keep your powder dry. They needed to get this thing
cross the line, so let's see what happens. But you
may think, and it's not a lot of time. We
gonna have a lot of them. And Trump knows that
more than anybody. I'd say, so we'll we'll continue to
follow this along. But big news, one big beautiful bill
(17:26):
passing today and in the House two fifteen, two fourteen,
more details than a special guest, all coming up.
Speaker 1 (17:35):
It's the great, big beautiful bill.
Speaker 2 (17:37):
It's a beauty. There's never been a bill like this one.
That's right. We're back next. Don't go anywhere, folks who
are just getting geared up, But again, stick with us.
Eleven thirty the day we're expecting that announcement coming out
of the Kent County Prosecutor's Office, Prosecutor Becker and whether
he will retry the officer, surecase. Big breaking news today,
the latest and all of that bottom of the arcodics.
(18:00):
I'm st welcome back in folks. Mike Rodgers is with
us right now. And he's running for senate here in Michigan.
And in fact, we're just talking about this behind the
scenes live stream, which is it's just a new technology, man,
you got to do this. So we stream on Facebook
and Rumble and Getter and locals and you did any
basically any place you can stream, we stream this thing.
(18:22):
I love it and uh and that way people get
to watch and see the behind the scenes last year,
like us getting set up behind the scenes, which is
kind of funny, but you know, you know, stranger to
the behind the scenes. You guys are working right now.
You're out there talking to folks. I've been seeing how
many beethleists as you've been out just stopping the pavement,
trying to shake some hands, kiss some babies and all
(18:43):
that stuff. Round two here, tell us about it because
you made the decision. We think we talked to you
since Denna's great. Look, let's talk about that. What went
into the decision and where what are you hearing out
on the end of the streets right now?
Speaker 6 (18:56):
Yeah, well, this feels so much better even than the
first time. You know, people warmed up later in that cycle.
We're not having that problem now, So we're getting people
signing up.
Speaker 3 (19:07):
Now we're getting our.
Speaker 6 (19:08):
Volunteers to do our ground game, which will be you know,
the mother of all ground games here coming up.
Speaker 3 (19:14):
People are jumping on board.
Speaker 6 (19:16):
You know, before we'd have to drag you out in
the street to have it, you know, just get a
chance to talk to you.
Speaker 3 (19:20):
We just don't have that problem this go around, which
is great.
Speaker 6 (19:22):
I think people got to know who we are, They
got to know my character, they got to know what
I stand for.
Speaker 3 (19:28):
You know.
Speaker 6 (19:28):
The hard thing in a political environment is everybody else
wants to tell you who I am and what I'm
all about. We have a chance now to get through
all that, which is great. So we're building out our team.
We looked at the numbers and listen, if we'd have
gotten beat by three points, my wife and I talked
about this. We just said, you know what got our
(19:50):
fannies handed to us somebody else's turn, but we didn't.
We came as close as we've come in thirty two
years to winning this seat, and we did some amazing things.
We got more Republican votes than any other Michigan state
wide candidate in the history of the state, including all
the governors that won Number one and number two, we
(20:11):
came closer to Trump voats, so nobody got exactly the
Trump votes. He always overperforms on every ballot he's on.
We came closer to Trump votes on Trump votes than
any of the other competitive US Senate seats, including the
three that won. So when you start looking at those numbers,
your Trump voters not our problem. Republican voters, which included
(20:33):
lots of independence, wasn't our problem. There were one hundred
and some thousand, we think about one hundred and thirty
thousand people who walked in voted for Donald Trump and
then left. That was certainly something we could have used
a few thousand votes. I mean, two hundred and thirty
votes per county is what we lost by. And so
we looked at all of that and said, here's what's interesting.
(20:56):
We have to get eighty five percent of people who
already know who I am, who already voted for us,
to come back to the poll in the midterm and
send Donald Trump some help. We think that's absolutely doable,
and that's why the ground game becomes so, so so important.
And we've got an outside group says they're going to
come in and help us build out our ground game
with a pretty sizable number. They were in Ohio and
(21:19):
in Pennsylvania last go round, both of those candidates won.
They're coming to Michigan this go round. After they said,
Rogers of your in, we're in. So I'm in therein
and we're going to build out this ground game. And
that's it's important for even your listeners. They were part
of that two point seven million voters, or at least
most of them were, and that's what is going to
(21:40):
make the difference in this go round. We're going to
get that two point three roughly million voters to come back.
Out of that two point seven we win. It's about
fifty one percent in a midterm. So we looked at
all those numbers. That's why the national folks have endorsed.
That's why the National Republican Senate Committee said.
Speaker 3 (21:56):
You have to do this. Your name idea is great.
Speaker 6 (21:59):
Despite all the negative advertising, our positives are up. I'm
not sure how that happened, but it did, which is
really great news for us.
Speaker 2 (22:08):
Mike Roger's in with us right now and running for
Senate again. Here let's let's let's talk about what's happening today,
because you're here on an interesting day. Yeah, we just
got that big beautiful bill that came through passing the
House last night. So this, I think this sort of
speaks to what's happening in the importance of you know,
twenty six.
Speaker 1 (22:27):
Great, big beautiful bill.
Speaker 2 (22:29):
It's a beauty.
Speaker 6 (22:30):
There's never been a bill like this one.
Speaker 2 (22:33):
We got to have folks who are going to support
the president and his agenda in Congress, and whether that's
the House or the Senate, you see how close the
margins are to get these things moving forward.
Speaker 6 (22:46):
And that's why I think they're they're looking for somebody
to come and help the president.
Speaker 3 (22:50):
I say, he took the beachhead, and now you need.
Speaker 6 (22:52):
Big army to come in and take some ground, including
legislating on his executive orders, because if we don't do
that us what the next president comes in could undo
all of it. And so you need to make it
as hard on Democrats to undo the good things like
a secure border, like the deregulation proposals that are in
those executive orders, the energy production that are in those
(23:15):
executive orders. We need all of that to be legislated,
and so you need to build the team in the
United States Senate to do exactly that and this bill,
you know, look at that, and this just tells you
the void of honesty with the Democrat party today. I
don't even think they know who they are today. You know, say, oh,
you're cutting Medicaid. Not cutting Medicaid. They're taking people who
(23:40):
are ineligible to receive Medicaid, who are getting medicaid today
off the rules.
Speaker 3 (23:45):
That's not cutting medicare.
Speaker 2 (23:46):
We're getting roped. The American people are getting ripped off.
There's a lot of ways for an abuse happening completely.
People who need it should be getting it completely.
Speaker 3 (23:54):
This protects the people who need it.
Speaker 6 (23:56):
Yeah, you know, the elderly, poor, U the children of
economically challenged families out there, they're all going to continue
to get Medicaid, but able bodied people who can work
will have to have work requirements. Number one and number two.
Illegal immigrants are on this on Medicaid and huge numbers.
Why should we pay for that?
Speaker 2 (24:17):
It's I think both the share points the media and
of course you know this is always going to happen,
but the media and Democrats. But I repeat myself, they
know they're not honest about this, and you know, I
know that's a tough fight, but it takes folks that
are like listening to this program, make sure that you
share what you're hearing with other folks, that people understand
(24:37):
this and they can get these stories out there to people.
And it takes you know, Mike, You're going around talking
to people and having these conversations with people.
Speaker 6 (24:46):
Yeah, completely, and again making it more efficient taking illegal
immigrants off of medicaid and people who can.
Speaker 3 (24:54):
Work should have work requirements. Think about that. That's what
the proposal does.
Speaker 6 (24:59):
It's doesn't come in and cut and hack for people
who are are economically challenged with you know, the elderly, poor,
children of destitute families. They're all going to continue to
get Medicaid. And by the way, Medicare got a three
percent increase. So they also will tell you every two years,
oh my gosh, they're going to cut Medicare.
Speaker 3 (25:18):
They're going to cut So none of that is true.
None of that is true.
Speaker 6 (25:22):
What they're doing is finally making it, you know, getting
with that waste fraud abuse, and they're taking people who
shouldn't be collecting medicaid in these states. And by the way,
if the state of Michigan wanted to go ahead and
pay for illegal immigrants they could do it where it.
Speaker 3 (25:38):
Really happens is California.
Speaker 6 (25:39):
Yeah, and if they want to go ahead and continue
to pay for illegal agreements, they can use their state
dollars to do it. I think it's a terrible idea,
but they can do it if they want.
Speaker 3 (25:48):
That's why they're screaming.
Speaker 2 (25:49):
Yeah, let me let me ask you, because we've seen
a heck of a first hundred days. We get divided.
We went to the White House and talk with folks
there about it, everything that's happened, So what has happened
off to a big start, but also looking down that
road to what needs to happen next. We're saying this
one big, beautiful bill, and I know, you know, not
everything's going to get done in this thing. This is
(26:10):
just a budget to get us to the next step.
And I understand there may be some frustration, but a
lot of patients. I've got a lot of patients because
I'm watching all the other great things that are happening.
And now it's a process. So what are those next
steps that are coming and that you'll be in supportive
as as we send another one of the good guys
(26:30):
into Congress.
Speaker 6 (26:32):
Yeah, so we're going to have to continue to rein
in federal spending size and scope. They didn't get all
everything they wanted, they did rein it back a bit.
It's not everything we wanted, certainly not everything I wanted,
but I do believe it was an important first step.
Speaker 3 (26:46):
So this is a process.
Speaker 6 (26:48):
You've got to get back in that horse and start
this fight again for what the next.
Speaker 3 (26:52):
Year's budget looks like. So we're going to have to.
Speaker 6 (26:55):
Restructure the way our military is designed to fight what's
coming at us. So you think about cyber threats and
drone threats. You know, shipbuilding is going to be very
very important in the next few years, and we're going
to ramp it up. By the way, Michigan should be
a piece of that. If you notice, even on the
Golden Dome, we weren't even mentioned. We used to be
(27:16):
the arsenal of democracy. You know why we have two
Democrat senators who have been there for thirty two years.
They think the same way, they talk the same way,
and they vote the same way. And guess what, they're
not delivering for the people of Michigan. They're not putting
Michigan first. So those are the kinds of things that
are going to happen next Next year's budget's going to
be another battle. The year after is going to be
(27:39):
another battle. And what we don't want. This is why
this election is so important. We've got to get our
state right. So we're going to need a Republican governor
in a Republican state Senate in a Republican House to
help us undo what Gretchen Whitmer and the Democrats have
done to the state making us uncompetitive. That's has to
happen well, same thing in the Senate. I want the
(28:01):
state of Michigan to be the recipient of all this
reshoring that's getting ready to happen, and we're seeing parts
of that happen. I talk to a guy who is
putting on a second shift for the first time in
twenty five years because automobile companies are trying.
Speaker 3 (28:15):
To reshore here in the United States. That's a win.
That's a win for Michigan.
Speaker 6 (28:19):
But we have to make ourselves ready for that those
wins and so all of that is going to continue
to happen, and making sure we keep getting after fraud
and waste.
Speaker 3 (28:28):
I don't think we got it all the first cut.
Speaker 6 (28:31):
And I think there's a lot more to do and
to modernize it so you don't have ten people operating
a fax machine in Washington.
Speaker 2 (28:38):
Saw something incredible that we spend one hundred million dollars
a year. This was this morning, a Sola stat one
hundred million dollars a year. Go go check this, but
one hundred million dollars a year on phone lines that
we don't use. Yeah, the government. That's incredible. And it's
little things like that that are eating away at your future,
at your children's future, at your grandchildren's future completely.
Speaker 6 (29:00):
Did you see the deal with credit cards that federal
employees have on average two credit cards each, and they
found in a quick audit that they were on New
Year's Eve going to strip clubs and bars and restaurants
and charging the government and apparently no one checked it,
and so it was literally tens of millions of dollars.
(29:20):
So if you think about phone lines getting make sure
we're not using fax machines. I'm sorry, we don't need
fax machines in twenty twenty five to do business in
the government. Make sure that those credit cards get taken
away if in my argument, by the way, if you're
a supervisor and let that happen, you should be fired too.
There's just no accountability. It was just easy money. It
(29:40):
was always flowing. They never saw it as the people
who sent that money in us.
Speaker 3 (29:47):
If we need people who look at it like, hey.
Speaker 6 (29:48):
That's our money and we need to spend that money
the way we have to spend our money, which is
pretty tight on the dollar.
Speaker 3 (29:54):
And so I think there's so much more that has
to be done. It can be.
Speaker 6 (29:58):
Done, and the President's not done with his agenda. Let's
help them get it done. And this legislating on executive
orders is going to take some time.
Speaker 3 (30:07):
It's not going to get done.
Speaker 6 (30:08):
Tomorrow or next year, but that process needs to start
and when I get there, we're going to make sure
that it gets completed.
Speaker 2 (30:15):
Mike Rogers running for Senate here in Michigan, and folks
want to know more. Obviously the website, what's the best way.
Maybe they want to come talk to you in.
Speaker 6 (30:22):

you can keep track of us. We've been all over
the state already. We've been in the up. We've recruited
former Trump forced captains to help us in this next election.
Speaker 3 (30:40):
What we need I think is really important.
Speaker 6 (30:42):
If I can take this one second, yep, this is
people have said, oh, we elected Trump, it's all done.
Speaker 3 (30:47):
It is not all done. This fight is going to
be going on.
Speaker 6 (30:51):
You can already see where the Democrats are coming at
this thing. We need to win in twenty twenty six.
We need people to get fired up about saying, Hey,
we're going to change our state by electing a Republican
governor and we're gonna send finally, after thirty two years,
a rational, common sense conservative voice to the United States
Senate to represent Michigan and take care of Michigan issues.
(31:14):
We just haven't had that, and so that's why this
election is so important. Don't give up, don't get complacent.

Speaker 7 (32:10):
The suspect chanted free, Free Palestine while in custody.
Speaker 5 (32:16):
No doubt, synagogues and Jewish centers here in Michigan will
be shoring up security in light of a terrorist opening
fire and killing a Jewish couple outside the Capitol Jewish
Museum in Washington, d c. The terrorist from Illinois shouting free,
Free Palestine. The young couple about to be engaged working
at the Israeli embassy. President Trump posting on truth social
(32:38):
these horrible DC killings based obviously on anti Semitism, must
and now, hatred and radicalism have no place in the USA.
Condolences to the families.
Speaker 3 (32:49):
Of the victims.
Speaker 5 (32:50):
More now from DC Police Chief Pamela Smith.
Speaker 7 (32:52):

Speaker 5 (33:05):
It's a Midwesterner dot news original story. Michigan House Speaker
Republican Matt Hall raising concerns that Secretary of State Jocelyn
Benson may use her position to influence the twenty twenty
six gubernatorial election by disqualifying candidates from the ballot on
technical grounds. Benson is a candidate to replace fellow Democrat
Governor Whitmer, who is term limited thanks to President Trump.
(33:28):
Folks here in Michigan seeing lower gas prices ahead of
the Memorial Day holiday weekend. For these stories and more,
visit the Midwesterner at the Midwesterner dot News.
Speaker 4 (33:40):
I we're keeping an eye on it. This morning.
Speaker 2 (33:42):
The eleven thirty is the time we're expecting to hear
from the prosecutor here in Kent County, Chris Becker, on
whether or not they're going to retry officer Christoph Ferscher,
former GRPD officer here in the Grand Rapids, in that
death of Patrick Leoya.
Speaker 4 (34:03):
Now this again, I don't know.
Speaker 2 (34:05):
I don't have a crystal ball, so I don't know
exactly how it's gonna work out. But I'm assuming, and
this is just me.
Speaker 4 (34:17):
I'm assuming.
Speaker 2 (34:19):
I don't know.
Speaker 4 (34:25):
I just don't see a way that you have.
Speaker 2 (34:26):
A press confidence to say you're not going to retry
the thing. I think if you're gonna say you're not
going to retry the thing. In other words, I never
should have brought this in the first place. You know,
I had to run away with my tail between my
likee sort of thing.
Speaker 4 (34:40):
And I like Becker.
Speaker 2 (34:41):
So I mean, I again, this is a lot of
this is very tough to parsture, but I just feel
admitted that the case never should have been brought. Some
question of why he brought it why maybe he brought
it because they didn't want to Nestle getting hold of it.
I don't know, But again I don't think it ever
should have been brought in it and at the end
of the day that hung jury. I think that that
tells us everything need to know about it. The fact
that there was only one holdout or two holdouts, and
(35:03):
the stories we're here and I don't know how accurate
that is, but that's what we heard coming out of it,
and they were very liberal sort of somebody who was
just not going to quit either way. Who knows. Maybe
we'll hear more about that today.
Speaker 4 (35:17):
I can't.
Speaker 2 (35:17):
I could. We can speculate, but I don't have a
crystal ball. If I did, I'd be buying lottery tickets
and then I'd be living on an island somewhere. You
never hear from me again.
Speaker 4 (35:24):
Maybe you'd like that.
Speaker 2 (35:25):
I don't know, just depending on who you are, but
we're expecting that to have at eleven thirty today again
we got the big beautiful bill that's been passed to
get more breaking news coming throughout the morning.
Speaker 4 (35:37):
Glenn Beck Program's coming up next.
