Michigan joined the conversation. Now at six one six seven
seven four, twenty four twenty four. At six one six
seven seven four twenty four twenty four, it's West Michigan
Live with Justin Barklay on Wood Radio Radio.
Speaker 2 (00:21):
Well, the road seem to be improving.
Speaker 3 (00:29):
I asked that it's like a question mark. At the
end of that, we'll check in on traffic. Of course,
We've got the wonder whether Advisor and effects still yet
to four pm to night. That's big news, big story.
Lots of cancelations, maybe get some new ones later this afternoon.
Speaker 2 (00:43):
We'll let you know more about those on the way.
Speaker 3 (00:46):
But we got big news to cover today throughout the state,
your backyard and beyond. President Trump on the trail yesterday.
We'll talk about what he was up to and big
changes coming to your healthcare, villa, need us.
Speaker 1 (01:01):
Weather, and traffic. I'm his stories of the day. We
are talking about what matters most in West Michigan and beyond.
This is the Big Three. Now say speak.
Speaker 2 (01:14):
Three other's stories of mattermotion.
Speaker 3 (01:16):
You're gonna be talking about these around the water table,
the dinner cooler.
Speaker 2 (01:20):
Wait a minute, the matter where you are.
Speaker 3 (01:25):
Yes, Dave Getaway and the team at Heartlett Homemrtgage to
take care of you.
Speaker 2 (01:28):
I had a great conversation with him.
Speaker 3 (01:29):
In fact, we'll talk tomorrow on the air here about
what's going on behind the scenes. You know, Fedbray, we're
waiting for that today to drop. Literally that story coming
up in just a moment here. But he said, you know,
it's not just about the rate drop. There's something else
you want to look for, and he'll explain that tomorrow
morning about nine thirty five right here on West Michigan Life.
Speaker 2 (01:52):
Give him a shout.
Speaker 3 (01:53):
Maybe I'll give you a preview if you call him
or head online to HHM lending dot com whether you
want to buy refly home equity line of crowd number one.
They're faster better than the big banks, citing leaders soon
saying the GOLP about to offer an alternative healthcare build.
So you know, we've got the ACA, the Affordable Care Act,
the Obamacare subsidies, the extended, all of that, expanded cover,
(02:16):
all of that expiring at the end of the year,
and that's going to send prices skyrocketing for lots of folks. Now,
this is not a Trump problem or a Trump induced
problem that it is a problem that he will need
to solve because ultimately he will get the blood. Democrats,
(02:37):
the media, et cetera will point the finger at him
for the problem that they created. But it's just like
any other day. That engine why, that's exactly the game plan,
that's how they move. The Senate has an idea on this.
It would focus especially on insurance subsidies. To plan aims
to tighten income eligibility for federal subsidies, reduce federal spending,
(03:00):
increased state flexibility, and at the same time bring down costs.
A lot of this we've heard about has to do with,
you know, sort of the health savings account route. We'll
talk about it on the way as well. Immigration agents
here in Michigan nabbing an MS thirteen terrorist gangster in
(03:21):
Shelby Township. Those agents ice arresting that suspected gang member,
thirty two year old Salvadorian national identified as a criminal
illegal alien with alleged ties to that terrorist organization, now
in federal custody, marking the fifth at least fifth this
year in Michigan where immigration.
Speaker 2 (03:43):
Agents have had to detain those folks.
Speaker 3 (03:45):
Meanwhile, ICE ramping up a website the worst of the worst,
finding all the convicted pedophiles, illegal aliens, violent folks, the
worst of the worst. You can take a look at
some of them and routes the work of the good
folks at ICE number going the FED meeting of the
day that inspected cut the benchmark rate, dropping it by
(04:08):
a quarter point to a target range of three and
a half to three and three quarter percent. We'll wait
and see what's coming in fact when it gets here
later this afternoon. And then, like I said, Dave Gallaway
joins us coming up tomorrow at nine thirty five right
here on West Michigan Live. The stories you won't hear
anywhere else, and that's the behind the scenes we like
(04:30):
to do. That pull the curtain back for you and
we'll give you those details you're gonna win.
Speaker 2 (04:34):
Coming up in the meantime, Join the program.
Speaker 1 (04:38):
Now, Call Justin now at six one, six seven seven
four twenty four to twenty four. That's six one, six
seven seven four twenty four to twenty four, West Michigan
Live with Justin Barclay on News Radio Wood thirteen hundred
and one oh six nine, alf Am.
Speaker 3 (04:53):
I got a comment on the chat here, Facebook, Twitter,
x Rumble, get our locals, YouTube, the usual suspects. The
iHeart Radio app you can watch stream and listen live
or archives at those different places or wherever you download
your podcasts. You can also use that iHeartRadio app to
shoot us a comment on the talkback feature. Just use
the microphone button next to the play button and let
(05:15):
it rip. That's how we work. Tom's saying, I can't
wait till Ice goes to Dearborn. Well, you've seen what's
happening in Many Somalia, I mean Minneapolis, in Minnesota right now.
They they've already started enforcement there on the Samalian fraud
that's taking place. But now they're going in and actually
(05:37):
knocking on doors and knocking some of them down and
getting some of these folks, which is a you know,
it's a good, good move when it comes to really
taking care of the problem that is, it's a tough problem,
but it needs to be fixed otherwise it is we're stuck.
We're stuck with it. Speaking of me, it's stuck. Don't
(05:57):
get stuck in the snow. Today we got a blanket
of heavy dense now causing slushy roads, dozens of school
closures or more. You can get the updates on that
at Woodradio dot com. Weather advisory still in effect until
four pm this afternoon. We got a lot from the
President yesterday. He was out making his case on affordability. Now,
(06:18):
I mentioned this to you the other day, and I
still believe this is a big piece when we are
talking affordability. And again he's mentioned it's a hoax, but
don't let the media hoax the hoax. What he's saying
is the Democrats are trying to say it's his fault
that is the hoax, not the fact that you and
I have I've seen the prices of certain things go up,
(06:41):
but we've got to remember why and where, and they
have to do the job. And I believe that's partially
what they were doing yesterday, but that to do the
job of reminding you of that and then also telling
you there's a plan we're continuing down that road.
Speaker 2 (06:55):
Now.
Speaker 3 (06:56):
One thing President does quite often to speak in hyper
and you know, we got a little bit of that,
you know, each and every time he opens his mouth.
But there's some brilliance in there too. And the hyperbole,
you know, especially on the campaign. I'm gonna fix it
as soon as I come in. You know, the the
war's going to be done. Russia, it's going to surrender,
(07:17):
you know all that. And we've seen some of these
things actually actually happen to take place. However, there's been
some dragging of the feet in some areas, not from
the administration, I would say, but in some places there
have been some issues. So we're going to talk about
what he needs to do to make that case, but
also to let you know what was said yesterday and
(07:39):
the one thing that I think has to make it back.
Speaker 2 (07:42):
I don't know why.
Speaker 3 (07:45):
I really don't know what. Why did we stop saying this?
Why did we stop calling it what it is, and
that's bidenflation. We've got to be reminded, We've got to
remind people exactly where this came from. This wasn't overnight,
This isn't Trump's fault. Now, it is his problem he
(08:05):
does have to solve. He promised you would, and I
believe he will. However, and we've already seen big moves,
and let's just take a look at some of them.
Gas prices down obviously the lowest in four years, we've
seen down under three dollars a gallon nationally. I think
everywhere in West Michigan I've been lately, it's under three
dollars a gallon. That's that's fantastic. But there are other
(08:31):
things that need to come down too. There are some
things that he doesn't have the ability necessarily maybe to
bring them. There's some some things like, uh, well, let's
just say beef coffee. Coffee's a good one to Coffee's
gone up through the room. Coffee's not up because of
Joe Biden's inflation advice for that, I think beef is either.
(08:51):
There are other supply chain issues in the coffee situation.
It's because of weather where they grow the beans. But
of course when you see one, you're going to look
for all of it. And that's one of those scenarios.
You just got it, you know, you have to kind
of understand. But the problem is most people don't. And
(09:12):
in the midterms this is going to be an issue.
You have to make sure you are pedaled to the Metalawn.
I think the base gets it. Here's some folks in Pennsylvania,
but it's not just the base. You got to remember,
he's not on a ballot in twenty six, even though
we heard yesterday Susie Wild say he's going to be
out campaigning like he is because he knows twenty six
(09:33):
is critical to the survival not only of this administration
but of the country.
Speaker 2 (09:39):
Here are voters in PA yesterday soon.
Speaker 4 (09:41):
And Trump has addressed a lot of my concerns. Brought
the price of gas down, no two ways about it.
Speaker 3 (09:48):
When it comes to the economy, how would your greatest
job performance?
Speaker 4 (09:51):
Fantastic?
Speaker 2 (09:52):
Confident that the terror policies are working. Yes, how's the
Trump economy treating you?
Speaker 5 (09:58):
It's doing fine.
Speaker 3 (09:59):
It's been rough under Biden. Things don't happen overnight, and
it takes time.
Speaker 5 (10:04):
It took time to bring it down.
Speaker 6 (10:05):
It's going to take time to bring it back up again.
I think the terriff policies will come into effect and
start to work because it's going to bring manufacturing jobs
back to the US. It's gonna help stable the middle
class and rebuild the middle class.
Speaker 4 (10:18):
Tourism is very important here and there's a lot of
people that work in the service industry. I am the
owner of an Italian restaurant, and I'm glad that my
employees will have the benefit of no tax on tips.
Speaker 3 (10:35):
Yeah, you know that's a home I for completely forgot
about that. Now tax on tips? Should we get a
virtual tip jar out? Maybe we should get you know
they they do this everywhere you go. Now, the virtual
tip jar. Maybe that's a good way to do this.
Because I went to get my oil change the other day. Yeah,
(10:57):
they asked me. They, God, do you want to tip
on this?
Speaker 2 (10:59):
I feel bad not. I mean, I know it's ridiculous.
Speaker 3 (11:03):
I know Adam shaking his head in the producer booth,
But don't shake your head, Adam. We could put a
virtual tip jar out for you. Adam's got to feed
the family this holiday.
Speaker 2 (11:10):
Folks, imagine that.
Speaker 3 (11:16):
Hey we might and I could you know, we could
even spice it up. I get a little bell we
could ring in here for it.
Speaker 2 (11:21):
You know.
Speaker 3 (11:24):
Serious, I'm not joking Anyway.
Speaker 2 (11:28):
We got more from PA.
Speaker 3 (11:29):
We're talking about that the voters that we're there with
the President had to say and more. But also more
big news out of Michigan. As I mentioned how important
twenty twenty six is. Why is Benson Joscelyn Benson the
Secretary of State the most lawless secretary of state in
the state's history.
Speaker 2 (11:49):
Why is she with her theme song breaking the law,
breaking the law?
Speaker 3 (11:57):
Why why is Jocelyn Benson adding name after Nan thousands
two already inflated voter rolls being called out by the
DOJ as we speak right now, and this story continues
to and even more interesting, and we ought to by
(12:19):
the way, she wants to oversee her own election as
the governor.
Speaker 2 (12:24):
Of Michigan. What could go wrong? Nothing to see her.
Speaker 3 (12:31):
Coming up at nine to thirty five, James Dixon joins us,
we'll break all of that down. Coming up on West
Michigan LIVEJI.

Speaker 3 (14:14):

prices down rapidly, lower prices, bigger paychecks.

just north of Detroit. She says that Kennedy has contempt
for science, spreads conspiracy theories, and ignores findings from major
(16:47):
health experts.
Speaker 3 (16:49):
Fantastic, Oh, fantastic. And here she is speaking of the
science and the data.
Speaker 10 (16:56):
I request thirty more seconds because I rise before you

(19:15):
Haley Stephens eye on that run for Senate here in
Michigan as a Democrat, moving to impeach rfk Junior.
Speaker 9 (19:23):
This morning, migmaker is moving to impeached Health and Human
Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Junior. She's accusing him of
making America less safe when it comes to health. Representative
Haley Stevens represents the eleventh district just north of Detroit.
Speaker 2 (19:38):
By the way, you want to know who Hailey Stevens is?
Speaker 4 (19:41):
Here?
Speaker 2 (19:41):
She is.
Speaker 3 (19:41):
This is just this is just the while back on
the flour of the House interseuite, big old pearls and
pink rubber gloves on. I don't know what the science
is behind this, what she was trying to avoid their
I guess it probably is. You know, especially you think
(20:02):
that some of the muckbreaking and things that happened there.
Speaker 2 (20:04):
You know, you might have to bring your boots.
Speaker 3 (20:06):
I've never seen gloves on the floor of the house
like this before we see the masks.
Speaker 10 (20:11):
No, I request thirty more seconds because I rise before you,
adorning these gentlemen from personal tension, not for personal tension
to take.
Speaker 3 (20:26):
General lady will suspend the general mary men from Maryland
is recognized. That's who wants to be your next senator
from Michigan. Folks, just say, you know who we're dealing with,
the lady and the pink gloves with all of the
qorum and of course the you know, she's very science specked,
wearing your gloves on the floor of the house and
(20:50):
moving to each had introduced the article's impeachment there of R. F. K.
Speaker 2 (20:54):
Junior is.
Speaker 3 (20:57):
I had the secretary there of the Department of Health
and Human ser We already seen who the Democrats. By
the way, yesterday I did this during the after show
h Levin, they changed Rachel's name Levin back to what
was it? Robert Ron starts with him. I don't remember,
but you remember the guy that dressed up in drag.
(21:18):
He said, this is the this is who knows a
thing or two about health. This slob we cut. We
put that side by side with RFK Junior in an
airport with Secretary of Transportation Duffy doing I think he
did twenty pull ups on a bar sitting in an
airport with with Duffy the other day. You just you
(21:42):
can't make this stuff up. Yeah he's not fit, is
what she's trying to say. Oh more on that, and
our good friend James Dixon joins us coming up in
just moments. You want to join the program, you can
(22:02):
six one six seven, seven four twenty four, twenty four.
In the meantime, thanks to the folks who keep us
on our toes at my feet, not just here on
the show with big breaking news stories like that one
every day, but also the stories about what happens day
to day in my life, you know, the real stuff
that matters with the girls running around of course during
(22:24):
the holidays, because it gets all wild, you know how
it can be.
Speaker 2 (22:27):
We just had a birthday. We celebrated.
Speaker 3 (22:29):
Oh yeah, and you're probably thinking about New Year's resolutions
right now. Get back to comfort. Get into the Good
Feed Store twenty eighth Street there right in front of
Costco in Grand Rapids, or in Portage on Westach in
front of coals at the Good feed Store.
Speaker 2 (22:47):
Big breaking news and all of it.
Speaker 3 (22:49):
Yeah, well, we'll take a little bit closer look at
the roads here in a bit. And we're still under
that winter weather advisory til four pm to day. In
the snow or whatever it is it's falling from the
sky right now, still causing issues on the roads, school closures, cancelations,
all of that at Wood Radio dot com to keep
you updated.
Speaker 2 (23:05):
Stick with us for more of the big breaking news.
Speaker 3 (23:08):
I just heard Haley Stevens filing the articles of impeachment
against RFK JR. I want to talk about something completely,
but first I got to get his reaction, if any,
to that story. Good friend James Dixon from the Enjoy
Down I seventy five over on X and we just
played the video of Haley Stevens there. I don't know
(23:32):
how long ago. This was actual foot of of her
on the house, looking like rambling like some sort of
rabid animal or something. And she's got these pink rubber
gloves on. I guess she knows a thing or two
about health there.
Speaker 11 (23:49):
James, welcome here, you know, if justin good to hear
your voice that was Hailey Stevens at her best. I mean,
if she were to be the nominee, that's the video
you would see on a loop because I think it
kind of colors everything else. She says. Anyone who could
be worked up to those kind of hysterics for a
virus that ninety nine point nine percent of people would survive.
(24:12):
This was during the COVID era, obviously has a few
things wrong and maybe should consider getting their life right
rather than governing the rest of us. And so with
this Street or with this impeachment against RFK s rat Bayley,
you are now following in the past of Street Sanadar,
who this week our Secretary of War Pete Hexa Michigan
(24:35):
is such an embarrassment on the national nage. We're the
ones who get calls about this stuff. It's embarrassing.
Speaker 3 (24:42):
Why, I mean the Democrats are I mean at a
time where you know, really all you have to do
is just show your like an adult in the room.
Uh and and I think you'll you'll stand out. But
they are racing to the bottom this radical nonsense. Schumer's
doing it, They're all doing it. I guess they're afraid
(25:04):
of you know, the mom Donnis of the world. You
know that that might take them over. And when we
and we've got our own mom donnies. These Democrats that
are running to be senators here in Michigan. If you
look at McMorrow, you look at Stevens, and you look
at uh Will say, I mean they all they all
have these real radical tendencies, don't they?
Speaker 2 (25:23):
Why can't we?
Speaker 3 (25:23):
And I listen, I'm not I'm not a fan of Democrats,
but I think it makes the race easier for Republicans.
Speaker 2 (25:29):
But what is it about Michigan? Is there something in
our water?
Speaker 4 (25:34):
You know?
Speaker 11 (25:34):
Justin I remember hearing when I was a kid, trying
to get our generation to not do this, that there's
no safe cigarette. I would say today there is no
moderate Democrats. I mean the most reasonable sounding one we
thought we had was a little stocket, which is why
X amount of people last year. It sounds crazy now,
(25:55):
but X amount of people in Michigan did vote for
Donald Trump as president at a slock and as our
US senator. And by the end of the election. By
election day, she was acting like she would personally go
down to the border and do border security. So she
knew how to talk to talk and that made her
people think that she's reasonable enough to deal with. And
(26:16):
now what she's doing, she's a half step away from sedition.
Every other video she's doing is explaining why it's not sedition.
And what she never talks about is the ten million
people who live in Michigan. And so Alissa Slockin has
not given a nice runway for McMorrow or Stevens or
el Sayad because they're not even trying to be normal.
(26:38):
Alyssa tried to be normal but went lying. So it
just shows there is no moderate option in the Blue team.
Speaker 3 (26:46):
Yeah, James Dixon with us right now down. I was
seventy five over on exit the Michigan Enjoyer. And the
story today out of Michigan that Lee originally wanted to
talk about is a big one. It's a doozy secretary
of State, the most lawless in the history story of
the state.
Speaker 2 (27:00):
Breaking the law, breaking the law.
Speaker 3 (27:02):
Benson wants to run her own election to governor, and
she's already starting to pad and inflate the voter rolls.
Yet again, there's another story here about how she's quietly
adding thousands to these already inflated voter rolls.
Speaker 2 (27:19):
And here we go again, is all I can think
to say.
Speaker 11 (27:23):
You know, once upon a time, this is the kind
of story you might expect to get from the Detroit
News or Detroit Free Press. But here we have my
colleague Anna Hoffman. And by the way, justin you would
love Anna. She's great. Anna Hoffman has this bombshell of
a report. So since July, Jocelyn Benson, our Secretary of State,
she's been required to produce these reports for lawmakers saying
(27:47):
how many people have registered to vote in Michigan. And
the numbers are just ridiculous. So we already know we
have like maybe seven point seven million adults in Michigan
eight point two million people registered Devoh, okay, so we
have five hundred thousand imbalance, just right off the jump.
How then in a state of ten million people that
(28:08):
if we are growing it slowly, but we're probably actually shrinking.
How then is Jocelyn Benson registering one hundred and eighty
thousand or more people to vote July, August, September, Octo,
every month one hundred eighty thousand people. So basically we
have that's roughly eight hundred thousand people, a little bit
(28:30):
less at ten percent of our voting total was registered
in just the last month, last four months in Michigans.
These these numbers are actually impossible.
Speaker 3 (28:44):
And here we go again the DOJ having to be
called in to take a look at what's happening in Michigan.
And I got to tell you it's so critical twenty
twenty six. We've got, you know, the idea in twenty
twenty four that we got to make it two big
rig We have to have that same approach in twenty
six here because I think as much as things were
(29:06):
on the line here in for the entire nation in
twenty four, they are it's make or break for the
state in twenty six.
Speaker 11 (29:15):
This is it if we do not save Michigan. On fact,
not since Stephen T. Mason, not even during Stevens T. Mason.
There's never been a time in Michigan history when Democrats
ran the state. And whoever the governor runs the state
for sixteen straight years, whoever, when twenty twenty six is
gonna win, twenty thirty are incumbent's always win in Michigan.
(29:38):
So this is it. We're a Jocelyn Benson and her
open ballot box philosophy to be governor. Then we're going
to get even more open borders. Office of Global Michigan
just took a cutback. That's the kind of thing that
she would invest in. The Democrat belief is that all
eight million people on earth should be registered to vote
(30:01):
in America. I should be allowed to vote in America.
They're just Americans who don't know it yet, and so
that's their governing philosophy. And so were they to get
in now it's light's out for Michigan, we'd be done.
Speaker 3 (30:17):
