Speaker 1 (00:00):
On the line with us right now. White House Deputy
Press Secretary Anna Kelly joining us now to talk about
the trip to the Hill and what's in the bill.
Folks are wondering some of these things, but appreciate you
taking some time to be here with us, as you
just tried to kind of lay out tax cus that's
a big part of it.
Speaker 2 (00:18):
Well, Dustin, exactly, and I loved the quote or the
clip that you just played from the President on Capitol Hill,
because he's exactly right. We have a unified party behind
these priorities of this president was elected to implement, and
even more so, we have a unified country. All of
the provisions in this bill, no tax on tips, no
tax on overtime, increased border security, tremendous savings in the
(00:41):
form of over one point six trillion dollars. These are
all a cornerstone of the agenda that the American people
in Michigan and all across the country resoundingly voted for.
And so we're extremely excited to get this one big,
beautiful bill over the line and deliver the release that
the American people desperately want after, as you said, just
four years of disaster and a lot of problems brought
(01:03):
by the previous administration.
Speaker 1 (01:05):
So and I noticed what he said too. You know,
this is this is bigger. There's a lot more here
than just you know, Reagan era tax cuts type of thing.
This is, this is setting us up for success in
the future in ways that we couldn't even I think
we couldn't even imagine previously.
Speaker 2 (01:25):
You're exactly right, And as you said, these are making
his previous tax cuts permanent, right, I mean, that is
historic tax relief for the middle and working class. And
on top of that, you have no tax on tips.
Imagine the relief that will bring to the millions of
Americans who work in our service industry, These hard working
Americans who rely on tips to feed their families. No
(01:47):
tax on overtime. That is huge for our first responders,
for our law enforcement officers, for our manufacturing workers. Of course,
that is a huge priority for this president to ensure
we have a large manufacturing industry to carry out these
trillions of dollars in investments he's securing into our country.
So this is bringing much needed relief for families across
the country, for so many working class Americans who really
(02:11):
rely on this relief. Remember when President Trump first passed
his tax relief in the first term, Nancy Pelosi called
it crumbs. Well, four years later, the American people, remember,
realized how much they needed that relief. And so this
is a huge promise made, promise kept for American people
all across the country who are desperately pining for this
release that this president has pledged and is delivering on.
Speaker 1 (02:33):
Right now, Hey, let's I know this is a big
deal today. And by the way, speak of big deals
like drinking from a firehouse watching this president go from
place to place. But you know, this time last week
he is in the Middle East with trillions of dollars
of deals coming and fly in every day. It was
wild to watch.
Speaker 2 (02:51):
Yeah, I mean, this is the deal maker in chief, right,
that is where he shines, is making deals looking anyone
in the eye, friend or foe. Of course, we have
great reliefships with foreign leaders in the Middle East, and
you know, making deals for the people in our country.
Speaker 1 (03:06):
Right.
Speaker 2 (03:06):
We had six hundred billion dollars from Saudi Arabia, one
point two trillion dollars from Cutter, two hundred billion dollars
from UAE. These are all going to directly translate to
good paying jobs with great benefits for Americans in our country.
I mean, our country, in our manufacturing industry specifically, has
been hollowed out by not just you know, Democrat policies,
(03:27):
but Republican policies too, Policies that have incentivized off shoring
have sent jobs overseas. This president is the first one
to say, and not just enough, we need to restore
our manufacturing industry and we need to make sure that
we are manufacturing products here in America, not just for
economic reasons, but for national security reasons too. And so
(03:47):
that's what that trip was about. It was about securing
these massive deals, leveraging his deal making prowess that he's
known for, and bringing really great investments in jobs back
here to our country.
Speaker 1 (03:59):
Before you go, a couple of big things that still
happening over the last few days this week. We got
no one above the law. We've got a chargers file
to this Representative MacIvor. The confrontation it's sounding like an
insurrection at this ice facility in New Jersey. Really, it's
I mean, it's the best way to describe it. I've
never seen anything like this before. Now members of Congress
(04:20):
assaulting police officers, this is a big story lots of
folks are very curious about and again that let's see
that accountability.
Speaker 2 (04:29):
Well, look, I just sort of Attorney General Bondie on
kind of how this plays out. But what I will
say is, look, this is a great example of why
the Democrat Party, as your listeners know, is more unpopular
than it's ever been. The contrast is so clear. You
have President Trump, who again is fighting for policies like
border security, supporting our border agents right working to rebuild
(04:52):
the border wall that was dismantled by the previous administration.
In contrast, you have Democrats who are fighting with what
with a legal immigran criminals from El Salvador and elsewhere,
fighting to keep them in our country, people who have
committed atrocities against Americans, like Rachel Morn, like Joscelyn Nungary.
That is who Democrats are fighting for. And so I
(05:12):
think the contrast can't be more clear. But we'll see
how that plays out. Again, I just heard of the
Department of Justice on that, But I think it's a
great testament as to why President Trump is more popular
than he ever has been. He was delivered given a
historic mandate by the American people to secure the border.
Democrats seem to not have realized that they are totally
out of touch with the American people, and it's totally baffling.
(05:34):
But you know what this president is going to Can
you continue to fight for American citizens who deserve to
feel safe and who do not deserve to have illegal
migrant criminals ravaging their communities with migrant crime?
Speaker 1 (05:48):
Why out st Deputy Press Secretary Anna Kelly? Before we
let you go, the bills moved out of committee. President's
there in the House today in Congress, trying to get
everything kind of squared away. What do we expect to vote?
Speaker 2 (06:00):
Well, I'm sure there are conversations happening. I don't want
to get ahead of any announcements that come out of
these meetings today. But look, as the President just said,
and as we talked about, this is a unified party
and even more so, a unified country. So we feel
really good about this bill. We know that it reflects
the priorities that the American people gave this president when
he was elected in November, and we think the House
recognizes that too.
Speaker 1 (06:21):
There you go, and thank you so much Ms. Kelly
for joining us today. Anna Kelly What House Press Deputy
Press Secretary, always a pleasure,
