Speaker 1 (00:00):
Denver visiting Oklahoma City for Game one tonight, second round
of the NBA Playoffs. How good is Oklahoma City coach
David Adwin.

Speaker 2 (00:06):
I'll say this about them. They're the best team in
the NBA throughout this season. And I had a really
good friend the other day, make me feel awful. I said, yeah,
if we win this series, man, we got to play
a team that's sixty eight and fourteen. He said, no, Man,
there's seventy two and fourteen. Has Okay, that's right. Appreciate that, bro.

Speaker 3 (00:23):
Joining us now on the KWA Common Spirit Hall hot
Line with insight into the challenge the playoff round Altitude
TV's Voice of the Nuggets, It's Chris Marlow. Chris, thanks
for joining us.

Speaker 4 (00:32):
As always, they glad to be on.

Speaker 3 (00:35):
Hey, Okay, So coach Adelman did not sugarcoat it. He
goes on to say, the defense so impactful. They have
a very good coaching staff, et cetera, et cetera, et cetera.
Is there any weakness that the Nuggets can see in
Oklahoma that they can attack?

Speaker 4 (00:49):
Well? I think I think Adelman is doing what any
good coach would do, is kind of building up the monster.
You build up the other team, you talk about their
strength and you make sure that you have your guys
properly motivated. Now, in this case, because they won sixty
eight games, because they've been the best team all season,

(01:11):
that's not going to be an issue. It's not like
we're playing you know, New Orleans or some other bad team.
I think where the Nuggets can attack Oklahoma City. Oklahoma
City is not a big, strong, physical team, so I

(01:32):
think Nuggets can do some damage in the paint. I
think that if Shake Guild is Alexander, I think that
is going to be the key matchup for Denver. If
Christian Brown can guard Shake Guild just Alexander like he
guarded James Harden. Agreeably, they're two different players, but if
he can do that, that will go a long way.

(01:53):
I don't think Shake Gild is Alexander is going to
get all the foul calls that he normally does in
regular season because it's postseason and they're letting them play.
I think that the Nuggets bench has been a little
bit better lately, particularly with Westbrook, and in that last game,
I thought Peyton Watson played pretty well, So I think
it's a good matchup. You know, they went too and

(02:14):
two during the regular season. I think there's areas they
can attack. They're long, they're physical, they're deep, although I
don't think the deep bench will have as much impact
on this series as it had during the regular season.
So I think it's gonna be a good series. I
think it's probably gonna go six or seven, and I
think the Nuggets have a good chance to win.

Speaker 1 (02:32):
I'll ask the obvious question, Chris, but does playoff experience
matter in that the Nuggets have a ton of it?
And O case he really doesn't.

Speaker 4 (02:39):
Yeah, I think it matters. I think it matters when
you have played for championships, you've won a championship, you
have that knowledge that you can do it, and until
Oklahoma City does it, they don't have that knowledge. They
think they can do it. They know they're good, they
realize they're really good. They're they're They're playing a team

(03:01):
that still has the heart of a champion, and so
I think that is going to be the challenge for them.
This may be even if they go on to beat
the Nuggets and beat everybody else and win the championship.
I'm guessing that this will be the hurdle they'll have
to get over, this will be the toughest matchup for them.
I think as they move forward, maybe Boston down the line,

(03:25):
but it's going to be a challenge for them mentally.
And because the Nuggets have Nikola Jokic, I think they
have a really good shot.

Speaker 3 (03:34):
So, Chris, you fall in line with our KOA listeners.
Is our social media poll question for this morning. Who
wins the series and by how many games? And you
said exactly where They're kind of falling in line Nuggets
six to seven games. But do you think the rest
of the world is thinking that are do we still
have a lot of people rooting against the Nuggets.

Speaker 4 (03:53):
You know, I'm not sure why that that happens. You know,
in many any of the earlier games, mostly the people
from ESPN, they just they just downplay what the Nuggets
have done. They downplay the talent, they downplay the bench,
the coaching change, all that stuff. You know, most of

(04:14):
the experts, the scribes, they all picked the Clippers to
beat the Nuggets. Everybody picked the Lakers to beat Oklahoma City.
It's just it's just a little bit of disrespect that
you gets as things as things progress with the it's

(04:38):
the elites on the Coast, and then there's everybody else.
It's the Warriors, it's the Lakers, it's the Clippers, it's
those teams, and they're always supposed to win and the
other teams are always supposed to lose. So I think
it's good. I think it's good. The more disrespect that
the Nuggets get, I think the better for the guys

(04:58):
like Murray and Jokichen. They see that stuff, they hear
that stuff. Maybe it doesn't bother Youki so much because
nothing bothers him except his horse coming in second place. Maybe,
But generally, I would say, when you're disrespected, when people
say you can't win, that's why I have a little
bit of confidence in this. In this upcoming playoff with

(05:19):
Oklahoma City. You know, if you say they can win,
and I say they can't, that's fine. But when everybody,
virtually everybody of all the media and all the pundits
and all the experts are saying that Oklahoma City is
going to win, I think you've got a good chance
if you're the other team.

Speaker 1 (05:36):
One game at a time, as they say, Chris will
get you out here on this let's play fill in
the blank for the Nuggets to win tonight.

Speaker 4 (05:41):
They have to do what others. I'll give you one
word an others. The others have to play like they
did the other night. Christian Brown, Michael Porter Junior, Aaron
Gordon Westbrook. It can't be. The Nuggets are like a
beautiful jigsaw puzzle, and when all the pieces are healthy

(06:03):
and fitting together, they can beat any other team in
the league. But if you've got a couple of those
puzzle pieces that are missing, you know, ones under the
table and the dog is eating the other one, it
just doesn't look like the same thing. And so I
think it's going to be an all hands on deck thing.
They're not gonna win if it's just Jokichen Murray. You

(06:27):
have to have good performance. So it's great performances like
they did the other night. I mean, they had six
players who scored fifteen points or more. And if they
get that kind of production, if they go in there
with confidence and play their best, I think they can
win this series. But they're not gonna win it with
one or two guys missing, and I think that's going
to be the key to the series. They've got to

(06:48):
get performance, got to play well. You're playing the best
team in the NBA and If they do that, then
I think we'll be moving on.

Speaker 3 (06:55):
Let's solve that beautiful puzzle. Their Altitude TV's Voice of
the Nuggets, Chris Marlowe. Thanks Chris, appreciate it.

Speaker 4 (07:01):
Great Thanks
