Speaker 1 (00:00):
Joining us now on the KWA Common Spirit Hall Hotline
Altitude Sports Nuggets Analyst. It's Bill Hands Like Bill, thank
you so much for your time as always, Man, what
a game yesterday. There's a lot of unsung heroes, a
lot of stars to highlight. Just talk about the people
that we saw that really came up and played hard yesterday.

Speaker 2 (00:17):
Oh well, yeah, my first though with the Nuggets. They
really put the big boy pasted on last night. I
think they were the four and Cell pants because they
were incredible. You're right, Gina, so many guys were special.
I mean you start with Jamal. I mean the guy
looked like Death warmed over. He plays the most minutes
of anybody, So Jamal is huge. Obviously, Joker just dominated

(00:43):
a game he has kind of figured out with Oklahoma
City's try Howler defended him and big, big game. Twenty
nine points on just fourteen shots. That's pretty good. Christian Brown,
who hasn't had a lot of offense in this series,
you know, huge with twenty three points and eleven rebounds,

(01:04):
and probably that you always look for. Where's that extra
coming from? Who's going to give you something that you're
not expecting? Well, Julian Strawther off the bench. Wow, would
a you know, give credit to the coaching staff for
showing some faith in him, and he delivered with fifteen
big points in nineteen minutes.

Speaker 3 (01:26):
And Bill all right now trying to get down to
brass tacks here about game seven because I'm a little
concerned about Aaron Gordon. Should we be concerned? I mean hamstring,
I mean that could be, that could be very widely
here he said he seemed ready to go, but I
don't know.

Speaker 2 (01:42):
Yeah, well, I know, one, Aaron, forget how much pain
it is he's saving up. He's playing game seven, So
if he says he's ready, I would expect that. You know, God,
he's such a vital clog. And you know, he didn't
have big off defensive game some points, but defensively and

(02:02):
I really thought going into this game six two areas
that I looked at, could they defend at a level
to keep Oklahoma City's points down? Yes, they did that,
particularly in the second half, just forty six points, held
them to four of twenty three from a three point line,
and a lot of that was Aaron Gordon. And then,

(02:23):
you know, my second thought was can they overcome their
fourth quarter offensive? Problems. Game four, they just had nineteen points.
Game five they had eighteen. Both those games they shot
one to twelve for the three point line. And wow,
last night twenty nine points, made three of five threes.
They were just incredible. I was not at the game.

(02:47):
I stayed home and watched on TV. But those fans, Wow,
what a game they got to see.

Speaker 1 (02:53):
Okay, So, Bill, Sunday afternoon. Now, getting a couple of
days of rest, how do you feel when it comes
to those couple of days. Is the rest good or
is there also opportunities to maybe become complacent?

Speaker 2 (03:04):
No? No, no complacent with this. You know, the chips
are on the line. I think the rest will probably
help Denver, not necessarily more than Oklahoma City, but they
need it. They I mean the seven game series against
the Clippers. You turn, you go right back at it,
and you know, Jamal's under the weather, Aaron with has

(03:27):
you know, tweaked his hamstring a little bit. With a
couple of days rest, I think this team will be
ready to go. I know it's an afternoon game in
Sunday and you get the whole country watching this one,
so it should be really really exciting.

Speaker 1 (03:43):
Looking forward to it. Altitude Sports Nuggets analyst Bill Hands Like, Bill,
before we let you go, remind our listeners of the
excitement and anniversary of your hoops camps that are taking place.
Still time to sign up, correct.

Speaker 2 (03:54):
Yeah, Gina, you need to come out. You round need
to come out. We'll teach a few things, but we're
real excited because, incredibly, this is the fortieth anniversary of
the Denver Nuggets Bill hm Flick basketball camps, and in
July we started as a as a girls' basketball camp
and since expanded to just lots of stuff. But this

(04:16):
is the core of what we do right here, boys
and girls second to ninth grade. It's in July. Go
to Gold Crownfoundation dot Com. There's a session that fits you,
and we'll want to about six hundred kids again this
summer at our gold crowd field out, so Gold Crown
Foundation dot Com come on out. It's just awesome.

Speaker 1 (04:39):
Bill Hanslke, thank you so much for your time and insight.
As always, I'll be honest though, if I was at
one of those basketball camps, I would probably look as
good as Alex Singleton, who tried to shoot a hoop yesterday.
Good thing you plays football, for sure. You can see
that video on the Kowa Instagram page.
