Speaker 1 (00:00):
Arm temperature will be in the low eighties and then
much cooler come tomorrow, with a high only around sixty
degrees currently, though we're at fifty in Denver.
Speaker 2 (00:08):
Local and federal law enforcement continued to investigate the attack
yesterday in a group of pro Israel demonstrators. Eight people
were hurt when someone launched incendiary devices into the marchers.
ABC's Alex Stone joins us live from Boulder. Alex, what
do we know?
Speaker 3 (00:23):
Well, good morning, Keenan night. Yeah, this morning, the Pearl
Stree Mall actually looks quite normal. The crime scene tape
has come down that there are some burn marks on
the grass area, but no longer. The police president said
that we were seeing last night and yesterday afternoon we
found out a couple of minutes ago that the suspect
(00:44):
in this forty five year old Mohammed Mohammed Solomon, that
he was apparently and is apparently in the country illegally
entered the country in twenty twenty two on a tourist
visa and never left from that tourist visa. But overnight,
the numbers, as you've been reporting, have gone up. Eight
victims now, two of them were airlifted to Aurora, one
(01:07):
of them. Critical, we understand, but they are recovering. Best
knowledge that we have that they are recovering this morning,
but waiting on more formal charges to be filed probably today.
Speaker 1 (01:19):
Yeah, Alex, going off of those formal charges, you talk
about the suspect, do we have any idea I know
he'll be in court later this afternoon, but any idea
of what those charges could be.
Speaker 3 (01:29):
Well, it's probably going to be kind of an idea
of what he's being held on right now. There is
some confusion this morning, Gina, because in the booking charges
the jail lifting it this morning lists two counts of
first degree murder. We are told that sometimes in the
computer system that that's not totally accurate, that it will
(01:50):
drop off the attempted part of it. But we also
are trying to find out if something changed overnight, if
one of the or two of the victims died. But
as night they were not to a point where they
thought that their injuries were life threatening, especially on more
than one of them. So we're trying to get clarity
on that today because it does list first degree murder
(02:12):
this morning, but we don't know of anybody who has died.
Speaker 2 (02:14):
Has the Trump administration said anything about this attack.
Speaker 3 (02:19):
We know that the President was briefed yesterday afternoon as
this was unfolding. A number of statements that have come
out condemning this. Of course, on the heels of the
two Israeli embassy workers who were killed in DC two
weeks ago and the fire bombing of the Pennsylvania governor's
(02:40):
mansion a few weeks ago. So we've seen a number
of comments coming out condemning what went on yesterday. We
know that the President is being briefed on it, He's
being kept up on it and knows what's going on.
Speaker 1 (02:53):
Live from Boulder at ABC's Alex Stone, Thanks Alex, you
got it, Thank yous. And Colorado politicians from both side
the Isle are condemning yesterday's attack, and Boulder kawa's Chad
Bauer joins US Live with some of their responses.
Speaker 3 (03:05):
Governor Polis says hat is unacceptable in Colorado and he
condemns this act of terror.
