It's a fresh way to experience everything that makes our
states so special. And joining us on the Kway Common

to fifty Commissioner and director of the Colorado Tourism Office. Tim,
thank you so much for your time this morning.
Speaker 3 (00:32):
Thank you and glad to announce this fantastic passport for Colorado.
Speaker 2 (00:37):
Yeah, it's a really cool new program you have going
on here. Tell us a little bit more about it
and how it works.
Speaker 3 (00:43):
Sure, well. The Digital Passport highlights the front range historic
landmarks and outdoor recreation and adventures. And it's a way
to just start a passport and then collect digital stamps.
And as you collect the digital stamps, you're eligible for
different prizes. Or if you complete a passport or a
large portion of a passport, you can also include prizes.
(01:06):
What are some of the prizes, Well, some of the
prizes could be a lot of different things. We're still
exploring those things. But there's first of all, there's discounts
or different businesses that may be participating to offer discounts
the Colorado residents. Other things can be discounts in their
retail shops or their gift centers or other things that
(01:27):
are at those particular locations that you're collecting stamps. And
then we're working on some other things, different T shirts,
some swag bags, some giveaways that have the logo on
it for the two fifty one to fifty. This is
really the part of the two fifty one to fifty
celebration because next year is our big anniversary, and.
Speaker 2 (01:48):
It sounds like this is the start of several passports
that will be happening later on as well. Can you
tell us a little bit about what other passports will
entail and what listeners would have to do in order
to get stamps on those passports?
Speaker 3 (02:01):
Sure, Jan, it's a great question. We have tons of
passports coming. They'll be released about every quarter, and someone
will include things like the Western Heritage, which will celebrate
different rodeos, or ghost towns, or culture where there could
be a museum passport that'll highlight different museums around the state,
or live music that you could experience different things. We've
(02:23):
got some great shows all over the state, different concerts
and outdoor venues, or even just wildlife. How does discover
maybe unknown trails that you might not have thought about,
our great fishing spots or our park experiences. But our
goal is to hit all sixty four counties. They'll be
some type of passport experience in every one of our
counties to celebrate next year is America two fifty? Colorado's
(02:46):
one to fifty.
Speaker 1 (02:46):
Tim, I know this is about exploring Colorado and getting
people out, But why this initiative now? Is there a
need for encouraging to check out what we have here
in Colorado or is this just something fun we're doing
leading up to the two fifty.
Speaker 3 (03:00):
It's really something fun to lead up to America. It's
two fifty, but Colorado's one to fifty. We have a
lot of different things here in Colorado. We're excited to
have United Airlines as a partner with this program to
help us launch this, but it also highlights a lot
of different things around the state, like, we have amazing
creative districts, creative art districts around the state that we
(03:21):
may not know about, so we thought we'd use this
opportunity to really explore internal and it's also available on
the My Colorado app. There's one point one million users
on the My Colorado app, so it's easily accessible. If
you go to the app, you can go to there's
a wallet section, but you go to services and the
(03:43):
underneath services you can connect directly to the passport. So
give everybody a chance to see different things around the state.
Speaker 2 (03:49):
Again in the My Colorado app, or you can go
to Colorado dot com slash Passport. Perfect time to get
it started for the Labor Day weekend. Tim Wolfe two
fifty one fifty Commissioner, Director of the Colorado Tourism FILS.
