Speaker 1 (00:00):
Sports. Broncos had their chances again to pull out the win,
but lose on a last second field goal, this time
to the LA Chargers twenty through twenty in La.

Speaker 2 (00:08):
Joining us now on the KWA Common Spirit Health Hotline
is Broncos' sideline reporter Susie Wargin. All right, Susie, so
now we have two coverantine last minute losses for the Broncos.
Let's talk a little bit about the sideline first. Compare
the two. Did we see things that were similar or
different to just the overall vibe from what we saw
from last week's Colts loss?

Speaker 3 (00:29):
You know, great question, Gina. As far as like the
end of the game, I think very similar. Although you know,
last week against the Colts, it was we thought we
had the game won, and so guys were celebrating like crazy.

Speaker 4 (00:40):
This one, it became very apparent once.

Speaker 3 (00:43):
The Chargers got the ball back that this could be
really bad, and we thought, Okay, maybe the defense can
just hold them because they've been playing lights out mostly
for the whole game, and it just didn't happen, and
then they were able to get the field goal, and
it just was like we just all felt like we
rewrote the story again, it's just that this one wasn't
at the last second. It was over the last you know,

(01:03):
in the two minute drill basically, and it was just
it was tough and it was another bummed out locker room.
But guys, you know, they know what they need to do.
I think they've just been so close in both of
these games. And just you know, there's a player too
that goes the other way. And we're talking with three
and zero.

Speaker 1 (01:21):
Picking up on the sideline conversations anything of note. When
you were there listening to how the feeling was prior
to the field goal. After the field goal about the team.

Speaker 3 (01:29):
Yeah, you know, it's hard to say. I mean, they
were all just weird. I mean, we're sitting there watching
every single play, very involved. Everybody's very involved. On that
last drive that the Broncos had offensively, you know, everybody's
very engaged and just hoping that something happens. There was
a moment on the second to last Broncos offensive drive

(01:49):
and I did a sideline report on this where Bo
came off and he said, it it's so hard to hear.
It's so hard to hear. And it did get loud
in there, even though you know, it wasn't a sold
out stadium. The Charger fans got very loud during some
of those drives for the Broncos, and conversely, the Broncos
fans that were there, which we had a lot of,
did a great job when the Chargers were on third

(02:10):
down and they were loud as well. But I do
think there was some I don't know if there were
communication issues or what was going on, but I did.

Speaker 4 (02:16):
See him say that coming off the field that it
was hard to hear. Now, is that an excuse.

Speaker 1 (02:20):
No.

Speaker 3 (02:20):
They practiced with sound during the during the week, so
they know how to be in those situations. That's why
there's hand signals. But there's a whole lot of things
that can go into moments like that. But that was
something that I noticed.

Speaker 4 (02:32):
Marty.

Speaker 2 (02:32):
Yeah, talking about the fan base a little bit when
we were chatting with Rick Lewis earlier this morning, he
guessed maybe about forty percent of so FI might have
been Broncos fans because it's truly one of those traveling
stadiums that everybody shows up and represents their team. Well,
I know you're on the sideline, but you know, some
of those Broncos fans are able to get those front
row seats. Did it feel like the energy was still positive?
Is it getting a little hesitant of some fans being like, Okay,

(02:55):
it's three games, it's only three games, but are we
starting to see a little turn of the little more
of a sour note for the fan base.

Speaker 3 (03:02):
You know, there were no boos, which is always good,
so that's a positive.

Speaker 4 (03:06):
And it's so far.

Speaker 3 (03:07):
It's very interesting, you know, because they've got some seats
that are field level that are literally right.

Speaker 4 (03:12):
Behind the bench. Those people can't see anything.

Speaker 3 (03:14):
I'm sure they pay a ton of money to sit there,
and it's always just loaded with Broncos fans, so they
basically have to watch the game on the big video
ribbon that's up above because you can't see anything. So
i walk in front of them the entire game. I'm
back and forth, back and forth. And they were all
very positive. I mean all of them were positive. There
were lots of Broncos fans. They'll wait for the players afterwards,
because the players usually will walk across the field to

(03:35):
get to the team buses, so you know, sometimes guys
will stop and talk to them and sign some things,
which is nice. But did not get any Booze didn't
get that, and people do need to remember we are
in year two of Bonnicks, Week three, and we have
to get in our heads go back to the Lway
years when he first started, go back to some of
those It's a hard game to play, and it's very
easy to Monday Morning quarterback and say, you know, hey,

(03:58):
they're trash or this or that.

Speaker 4 (04:00):
Give it some time.

Speaker 3 (04:01):
I mean, there's going to be some things that happen,
and there's always going to be a learning curve here
at the beginning, and I think the problem is we
had such big expectations, especially set nationally, which is sometimes
the worst thing that can happen, and then people are like, oh,
I thought they were going to do so much better
than this.

Speaker 4 (04:16):
Just stand by learning curve.

Speaker 1 (04:18):
Okay, since you went there. That's our social media question
this morning letter grade for the overall performance in game,
what do you give them?

Speaker 3 (04:24):
My friend, we have to split it up because I mean, defensively,
once again, they showed up.

Speaker 4 (04:29):
We had a couple of turnovers. We have five sacks
in there.

Speaker 3 (04:32):
The only place they didn't show up was when it
mattered the most, at the very end, and that was
the toughest part when they allowed the field goal for
the go ahead field goals. So I would say defensively
we're probably at a B. Offensively, that was hard. There
were some throws in there that either should have been
thrown better in just different spots for both, So probably

(04:54):
a C. Offensively, way too many punts, I mean first downs.
It was nine to twenty nine as far as nine
first down for the Broncos, twenty nine for the Chargers.
So just a really lopsided game offensively, and defense was
just out there way, way, way too much and played
well everything except for that last drive.

Speaker 2 (05:10):
Suzie, I think you'd be one of those teachers that's like, well,
you filled out the rubric correctly, the questions incorrect, but
I'll give you some points for just how you headed
the paper.

Speaker 4 (05:20):
I think I think students would really appreciate the top.

Speaker 2 (05:22):
Yeah, there you go, Broncos sideline reporter. It's Susie Warts
and appreciate it. Thanks Susie.

Speaker 4 (05:28):
Thanks guys,
