It is Colorado's Morning News. A detainee is dead two
others injured after a shooter open fired an ICE facility
in Dallas, Texas. FBI Special Agent in Charge Joseph.

Roth Ross's early evidence that we've seen from rounds that
were found near the suspected shooter contained messages that are
anti ICE in nature.

The shooter died from a self inflicted gunshot wound in
The FBI still investigating the incident as an act of
targeted violence. Joining us on the KWA Commet Spirit Health
Hotline is Fox News Radio's Eben Brown. I've been appreciate
your time as always. What do we know so far?
Any other information about the suspect?

Speaker 3 (00:37):
Good morning. Yeah, we don't know much more than what
we knew last night. The twenty nine year old suspect
by the name of Joshua. We think it's prompt John,
but it's spelled Jahm. And this person is suspected to
have been targeting either ICE, the agency, or maybe agents themselves.

(00:59):
The victims were not agents, They were in fact detainees,
but recovered from a scene somehow was a cup of
ammunition and on those bullet case things were written anti
ICE in fact, there's a photograph of it that the
FBI has already published, so that is leading investigators to

(01:19):
think that this person was seeking to target either the
agency or agents themselves. But we don't know much more
than that. There were police on the scene of a
home connected to either his family maybe relatives, and they
recovered some items from that home. They haven't shared yet
what those items are or whatever cherry value they may have.

(01:43):
I suspect at some point they'll come forward and tell
us what they think really is the case here. The
shooter himself is dead by his own hand, and so
therefore there's not going to be any kind of prosecution.
So unless there are perhaps accomplice is which would necessitate
keeping things quiet for now. As they do their work,

(02:04):
we'll probably hear in short order. You know what the
conclusion is, Eman, What are the security protocols I imagined
at all the ICE facilities are probably similar, But what
was the security like at that facility in Dallas at
the time.

Speaker 1 (02:17):
Is it pretty tight?

Speaker 3 (02:19):
Well, they usually are generally tight, but this shooter was
on top of a roof of another building nearby. You know,
that's not normally going to be patrolled. And the shooting
happened at The shooting target was a van, an unmarked
white van, I believe, and it was located at or

(02:39):
very near to the facilities what we call a sally port.
That's a controlled entrance egress for in this case, a
holding facility. You would see this at let's say a
county jail or a federal prison. They're all kinds of
the name, but it's where anyone who is detained, arrested
is walked in and out of the facility. It allows

(02:59):
them to have a type of control over that entrance
in engress. So it in fact had its security as
it was you know, standard operating procedure. But you know,
if someone's across the street or down block on a rooftop,
are you know, taking aim with a rifle some kind?
I mean, how do you really secure against that. I
don't know if you do that unless you're going to

(03:21):
start patrolling rooftops in the area.

Speaker 1 (03:23):
Evan in wrapping up with you, have we heard a
response or any statement from President Trump following the shooting.

Speaker 3 (03:29):
You know, the statements out of federal officials have been
kind of consistent. This is the result of the rhetoric
against law enforcement and ICE the agency specifically, and that
it needs to stop. In this case, an agent wasn't harmed,
but it seems to be the belief that agents were
at least going to be the target. He just happened

(03:51):
to hurt the wrong people. But again, at the same time,
people who are detained for ICE matters are not expected
to be killed for anything. They may be slated for deportation,
they may be they may themselves be turned over for
other prosecutions, but someone shooting at them is not what

we want.
