Gina gandecon Colorado's Morning News. Our social media poll question
for this morning plane and simple, are you traveling for
the Thanksgiving holiday? You can engage with us on our platforms,
leave us a talk back on the iHeartRadio app. You
can expand on x by letting us know if you're
traveling by KR, by plane or not at all. Looks
like right now majority of people are saying not at all.
We'll be going live to DIA in about ten minutes.
(00:23):
Koa's Keenan Dixon traveling during this busy Thanksgiving time and
he'll let us know the latest of what we're really
seeing at the airports as of late. Coming up next
on Colorado's Morning News, the US envoy will be in
Moscow next week to negotiate a Ukraine Russia peace plan. Now,
this news comes after Ukraine reportedly said it had reached
a common understanding with the Trump administration on the outline
(00:46):
of a possible peace deal. Joining us on the Kia
Common Spirit Health hotline is Fox News Radios Jonathan Savage, Jonathan,
appreciate your time as always. Well, after we heard of
Ukraine saying okay, we agree to parts of the framework
of this peace plan. Lots of new details have been
come out to how the twenty eight point piece plan
was originally proposed and released.
Speaker 2 (01:07):
Yeah, look, when it came out last week, it set
off alarm bells in Ukraine and other European countries that
are allied to Ukraine because these twenty eight points seemed
to be very much exactly what Moscow was looking for,
and that was why there was a rush meeting in
Switzerland with the Secutary of State Marco Rubio and senior
(01:29):
Ukrainian officials, and those talks revamped the plans. There were
the European countries that weighed in as well with things
they think should change in these twenty eight points, but
they got to a point where the Ukrainians, the United
States government, and European leaders were far more optimistic about
the way things were going than they had been just
a few days earlier. However, the Russians have not responded
(01:53):
to the most recent set of proposals. Sets of proposals,
I should say that we haven't seen yet. What we
know now is the Kremlin today is saying it's premature
to speak about striking a peace deal in the near future.
But President Trump special Envoye Steve Wikoff will travel to
Moscow next week, according to the Kremlin, to meet President
(02:13):
Vladimir Putin, and the Army Secretary Dan Driscoll will meet
Ukrainian officials, so talks will continue.
Speaker 1 (02:20):
Jonathan, it sounds like Ukrainian presidents Zelensky said there's actually
fewer points than the original twenty eight point plan in
this framework deal that they're working on. Now. Do we
have any idea when this plan could be publicly released
or when we could get more details, We don't know.
Speaker 2 (02:35):
But these things do tend to get leaked one away
or another, don't they. So you know, any moment one
of the news outlets, one of the journalists fevering away,
could get their hands on a copy from whichever side
decides that it's in their interest to leak it. But yeah,
President Lensky is saying that they had whittled down these
twenty eight points and perhaps because there are certain things
(02:55):
that they don't think should be agreed before a ceasefire.
The Ukrainians have talked talked about agreeing certain things after
a ceasefire is declared and enacted. For example, they don't
want to talk about giving up any land seeding any
land to Russia any territorial issues until there's a ceasefire
in place. But of course Russia, with their maximilust aims,
(03:18):
they are not showing any sign of changing their position
on this.
Speaker 1 (03:22):
And even with all these talks happening, it really seems
like the bombings continue regardless of the peace talks. What's
the latest we know right now of the Russian drones
stikes that we've seen both in Kievan Zaparisia.
Speaker 2 (03:34):
Yeah, Zaparisia last night in particular, a huge Russian drone
assault there a dozen people plus were injured, maybe at
nineteen or twenty in fact injured according to the most
recent figures. And that came a day after hundreds of
drones and missiles were launched at Ukraine once again. They
caused at least six deaths I think. In fact, eight
(03:55):
was the latest number killed in Ukraine the night before
last in cities including the capital Kiev, that also damaged
energy infrastructure and authorities were restricting people's heating in parts
of the Ukrainian capital. Ukraine meanwhile says that it's hit
amount of a facility manufacturing missiles as part of its
counter assault on Russia.
Speaker 1 (04:15):
Fox news radios, Jonathan Savage, thank you so much for
your time this morning.
