Speaker 1 (00:00):
Maybe I did.

Speaker 2 (00:02):
The next guest is probably chiming on this Bill Hans,
like the great Bill Hands. Is it peaches an.

Speaker 3 (00:07):
Herb or herb? What peaches in cream?

Speaker 4 (00:13):
I'll go, you know, sort of Wimbledon. Is that strawberries
and cream? But that's what I'll go with, peaches and cream?
So good, great, so hands.

Speaker 5 (00:24):
We're we're trying to uh, I think we're we're of
the optimistic sort. But Game seven coming up Saturday night,
Nuggets hosting the Clippers. In your mind, what what what
couple of things do the Nuggets have to get done?
I mean, it's it's a tough game, for sure, but

(00:44):
you knew this series was going to be a long
one and a tough one, and the Clippers didn't have
home court, and yet they were favored in the series.
Now comes down to one game at home? What couple
of things are most important for the Nuggets to win?

Speaker 1 (00:56):
Well, David, you're there is how about two? You get
to add in.

Speaker 3 (01:02):
The Nuggets at two games seven? There's not much better
in sports, especially if you know, you know, I think
back and I remember remember when Michael Malone was let go,
and indeed they all them came in. He had to
win three in a row at the end of the season,

(01:23):
coming off some furmoil to get that four seed. And
what four seed got you?

Speaker 1 (01:29):
You got your home court, so.

Speaker 3 (01:30):
You're you're were you know, it's that little.

Speaker 1 (01:34):
Bit that could do that extra to win.

Speaker 3 (01:36):
I think I always parked points at the defensive end
of the court first.

Speaker 1 (01:40):
And now the Nuggets and there's there's.

Speaker 3 (01:42):
Twenty four quarters of basketball that have been played so
far in this series. In twelve of those and Nuggets
have helped Clippers twenty five points or less, and they've
won eleven of them. I'm not saying.

Speaker 1 (01:56):
Every quarter has to be twenty five or left. But
the Nuggets defensive.

Speaker 3 (02:01):
Game has to show up. They have to be up
on the ball Trent for some turnos and and you know,
limit straight line drives of Jane Harden right.

Speaker 1 (02:14):
To the who you know, just defensively.

Speaker 3 (02:17):
If the Nuggets are good, which they've been that way
in some of the wins in the series.

Speaker 1 (02:22):
I think they win this this game.

Speaker 6 (02:25):
Hey Hans, it's Rick Lewis. Good to hear your voice again. Man,
How you doing How are you my friend doing good?
You know, this series has been up and down, as
everybody knows, and I just can't seem to get a
good read on it. I texted my friend Dave Logan
last night, said, how do you feel about this game tonight?

Speaker 3 (02:41):
Nice name drop? Go ahead?

Speaker 6 (02:43):
Yeah, Dave happen to be a friend of mine, right,
and so does Bill Hanselock. By the way, Ryan, that's right, Bend.
I've been around a while.

Speaker 1 (02:50):
Ryan.

Speaker 3 (02:50):
Yeah, sorry, sorry.

Speaker 6 (02:52):
And I just can't seem to get a good feel
for it. But watching the Clippers last night, I did say,
take the Nuggets. You did six and a half, it
will cover it cover worked out. It absolutely did, and
thank you for that. So I feel like if the
Clippers big three play like they did last night, they're
going to be a very tough team to beat tomorrow night,

(03:15):
even at Ball Arena. What do you think?

Speaker 3 (03:18):
Absolutely? But oh, how do they play that way? Well,
if the Nuggets are soft defensively, they could they could
play a way very easily. So I think a tough,
physical defensive ability, you know, that's what the Nuggets need.

Speaker 1 (03:36):
And you know the other thing that's.

Speaker 3 (03:39):
Hurt the Nuggets is having Michael Porter Junior with a
hurt should I mean, he was not much in that
last game, and they could have used him, and he's just.

Speaker 1 (03:51):
That armor is just hacked in there.

Speaker 3 (03:53):
Well, Dayton Battelman, He's always said, you know, if you're going, well,
I'm playing you, will we go to uh Peyton Watson
Moore or Russell Westbrook with more minutes. I'm not sure
that shoulder can make a difference, but you sure know
that if he gets a three point game going, that
could make a difference.

Speaker 2 (04:13):
Bill Hansler joining us. It was a really savvy move
last night for Tyler Lew too. I mean he started
Chris Dunn, but Nick Batoom was the player that got
the most minutes. It really helped out the spacing for
Kawhi and James Harden. What, in your opinion, without giving
way too much of the game plan, what would you
do to sort of combat that, because it did really

(04:33):
feel like it kind of messed with the flow for
the Nuggets.

Speaker 3 (04:37):
Well, I you know, I don't worry about the tomb
offensively that much. Yeah, I said, some breeze, but they're
not like dagger in your back. Doing what they've had
some success with is putting them on Joker, and they
had Zubah kind of on the more in the weak side,
rotating over position, maybe on g a little bit.

Speaker 1 (04:57):
So the thing that you.

Speaker 3 (04:59):
Just marvels at me, maybe it's the LA thing.

Speaker 1 (05:02):
I just don't like LA teams, any of them. But
how n Kola.

Speaker 3 (05:08):
Jokic with the physical contact that's going on This last
game he had two free throw at tests. Come on, Rep,
it's not right.

Speaker 1 (05:18):
You know.

Speaker 3 (05:18):
If you're some of the other so called stars in
the game, that number would have been ten or twelve.
That could have been a difference maker. So but Tom's
going to be on Joker early and often. He played
thirty four minutes last game. Maybe maybe a little burnt
out from that because he's no Dave Logan's age. He's
kind of up there.

Speaker 5 (05:37):
Yeah, well, you know what, you didn't hear any arguments
from me on that one either. You know what I
would say last last thought for me, you know, and
you bring up I think a really good point about
the defense. I think then the offense is going to
take care of itself. I think the defense will create
some turnovers, which then you get some runouts, then you

(05:58):
maybe get some easy look looks. And I think the
key to that has been the last couple of games.
It seems like Jamal who's been much more aggressive. Now,
I didn't score forty three last night, but he's he's
he's never been a catch and shoot guy. I've seen
him do that a little bit more in the last
couple of games. And I think, again, you don't want

(06:20):
to work every single time down against the half court
defense of the Clippers.

Speaker 1 (06:26):
Dave, You're one hundred percent right.

Speaker 3 (06:28):
I mean, you don't want to do that. And the
little mini change is they put Kawhi at centered on
Jamal last game, didn't have jim packed in the first quarter.

Speaker 1 (06:37):
Because Jamal had a great start, but later on it does.

Speaker 3 (06:41):
This game still surrounds to me, Joker's got to be
a score. Yeah, he's a great.

Speaker 1 (06:45):
Passer, but get the Clippers.

Speaker 3 (06:48):
In foul trouble scoring paint and then the three balls
are going to be wide open, and that's what they've.

Speaker 1 (06:56):
Got to have, you know, paint points with open.

Speaker 3 (07:00):
Threes, and then I feel pretty good offensively about what
the Nuggets can do.

Speaker 6 (07:04):
We're talking to Bill Hanslick. Bill last night watching the game,
the announcers kept referring to Jamal Murray as playoff Murray,
which to me kind of felt like a is that
a backhanded compliment. The other said, yeah, he plays great
in the playoffs, but they're also saying he doesn't during
the regular season. Am I right about that?

Speaker 1 (07:23):
Well, you know, I mean no, I mean regular season.

Speaker 3 (07:29):
He has his moments.

Speaker 1 (07:30):
He had a lot of.

Speaker 3 (07:30):
Injuries, but playoffs are just different. More time, often between
games you can heal up a little bit more, and
he's able to been able to go there. He's played.
I think he's even more minutes a joker in this
series and he's stood up. I look for yeah, I
look for Jamal having a big game at home tomorrow night.

(07:52):
And uh, that's that's that's good news for the Nuggets. Bell.

Speaker 2 (07:57):
We appreciate you man, Thank you so much for the
time afternoon, and can't wait to get under way tomorrow
when we have to watch both games. We are excited
to watch both games, but more importantly your coverage as well.

Speaker 3 (08:08):
Thank you, sir, got it. You have a great day.
The great Bill Hanslick. He's awesome. He's so great. I
tell you what that is.

Speaker 2 (08:19):
And when you know, we'll spend some time over the
next few hours talking about the game, specifically last night
and what to expect in Game seven. That decision by
Tyleru with Nick Batoom. That was a that was a
big deal. It was a big difference in the game. Yeah,
it worked out for sure.

Speaker 3 (08:35):
I mean Chris Don only played ten minutes. Yeah, that's right.

Speaker 5 (08:38):
He missed his first shot and then he had he
had trouble on the defensive end. I think Tyleru when
you when you talk about him and he's great, and
this as a head coach, you focused on the defensive end,
he's he's that guy. And so I think he looked
at that game last night and said, hey, I'm gonna
have plenty of offense, but I better find a way
to make these guys work a little bit more than

(09:00):
they've had to work. But Tumas is interesting to me.
He had a couple of blocks last night. He got
one of Joker's layups. I thought, I thought Joker went
to the basket two or three times and didn't get
a call, even even late in the game. They're down
five and he's got what looks to be a layup.
He missed it, but I thought he got fouled. But

(09:20):
but buttoom Is, he's also a three point threat, which
opens up the court a little bit. I mean, you've
got two isolation players in Kawhi and the Beard. Kawhi
can play in the blocks, and again he presents a
lot of problems. Aaron Gordon, as I said, Yesterday's good
as anybody in the league playing, but he's he's a

(09:42):
monster in terms of his strength and size and abilities.
He's a great, you know, mid range score. But I
think the Nuggets are. I think it's gonna be a hard,
fog game. I think the Nuggets will find a way
to win. I don't know that it's going to be
like Game five, but I think the Nuggets find a
way to win advance with a big, big victory tomorrow night.

Speaker 6 (10:03):
Yeah, like I said, the hands. When the Clippers big
three play like that, they can beat anybody. And who's
going to be the Nuggets third between Murray and Joker,
that's the big question. Mpj's got to show up a
G two ag yep, and you mentioned him how great

(10:23):
he is on defense, but when Leonard's on his game,
he's pretty much unstoppable.
