Speaker 1 (00:00):
As we found out.

Speaker 2 (00:01):
That's actually that goal can't go to a defender, it
goes to Nathan McKinnon.

Speaker 3 (00:06):
And that was the go ahead goal the Avs win
last night. That's a great for the Nuggets. But that's okay.

Speaker 1 (00:12):
Still got two. Game seven's coming up tomorrow.

Speaker 2 (00:15):
Welcome to the show, Dave Logan, Ryan Edwards, Rick Lewis
and studio.

Speaker 1 (00:18):
What's up?

Speaker 4 (00:18):
Rick? Yes, sir, how you doing? Ryan? How you doing?

Speaker 5 (00:21):
Dave?

Speaker 4 (00:21):
It's good to be back to Rick.

Speaker 2 (00:23):
It's good to see you as well, my friend. Yeah,
what a night's And and Dave A Rockies? What is streaking?

Speaker 6 (00:30):
What?

Speaker 1 (00:31):
So one game was streaking?

Speaker 4 (00:32):
What is two?

Speaker 1 (00:33):
How do you define two wins in a row?

Speaker 4 (00:36):
Well?

Speaker 5 (00:37):
I think this year the first word that would pop
to mind is unusual.

Speaker 1 (00:43):
Dominance.

Speaker 4 (00:44):
No, but I was.

Speaker 5 (00:44):
Actually I actually found myself late in the game flipping
over to UH to watch the Rockies and the reliever
angles No, hold one second, the reliever in the ninth
back to back six Yeah.

Speaker 1 (01:02):
Hold on, I gotta go. I I know I know
who you're talking about.

Speaker 5 (01:05):
Yeah, and Agnos, Agnos caused me logging.

Speaker 4 (01:13):
He does have the nice born sashion, he really does.
I heard you I was listening a couple of days ago,
maybe it was yesterday. You did. You made me laugh
when you were talking about a one game win streak
for the Rockies.

Speaker 5 (01:28):
That's what that's you know, that's part of my job
descript to make people laugh.

Speaker 4 (01:34):
You make me laugh.

Speaker 5 (01:35):
Well, well, you know what, and that's really at least
right now, that's all that matters.

Speaker 4 (01:39):
And with the Rockies. If you can laugh about the Rockies, you.

Speaker 5 (01:42):
Gotta get a one game win Listen to two games now,
let's not let's not poo poo this, okay, let's not.
They could be this could be the start of a
you know, long win streak.

Speaker 1 (01:54):
There for a second, the start of the start of
a three.

Speaker 5 (01:58):
Game win streak. You can't get you can't get to
four until you get to three. That's right right now,
we're six. That's coach talk right there. We're at six now.
And the Rockies, hey man.

Speaker 1 (02:10):
Six and twenty five, six and twenty five.

Speaker 2 (02:12):
You know, if they turn this thing around, go twenty
twenty five and five in the next thirty because.

Speaker 5 (02:20):
It was twenty five and five, it would be thirty
one and thirty.

Speaker 4 (02:24):
Wow, why are we even talking about twenty five and
five rights.

Speaker 5 (02:30):
Yeah, I mean, you're the most optimistic person I know,
to the point that it's almost nauseating. I know, I
know what annoys you at times. So why would you
not buy into the thirty one and thirty? They go
twenty five and five?

Speaker 4 (02:42):
The Rockies have destroyed my optimistic outlook. Don't let that happen. Yeah,
I don't. I think that was possible. I need someone
to lift me up. Okay, somebody help me.

Speaker 5 (02:51):
You need an enema, mister Dave's back to the house.

Speaker 4 (02:57):
Mom.

Speaker 5 (02:58):
Sometimes my mom, you well, I know, she and I
talked about that. Well, sometimes when you lose a little
bit of optimism or your body is just not feeling
right to go, that's what happens, is what I Yeah,
could you use substitute like a suppository instead? Well, I mean,
I don't know about that, but I'm just saying you.
What what I'm saying is, you know, theoretically, rhetorically, you

(03:22):
have to purge, purge yourself from negative energy and you know,
to a certain extent, a demonic presence, And the way
to do that is either get in the steam room,
get a good workout, get an enema, I mean whatever,
all of those together I just do the steam room.
Well you can if if steamroom works for you, I

(03:44):
think it a go for a run. I've seen you run,
So maybe not running is not an option for get.
It is something something that gets running used to be
for me, a way to clear my head. Same completely,
I don't. I don't do that anymore.

Speaker 2 (04:00):
I tried it with my wife once because she was runner,
and I tried it with her, and I don't know,
it's at the physical like I just okay.

Speaker 5 (04:08):
My sorry, I just my protein shake and it went.
It was loud as hell in the air. Sorry. Uh.

Speaker 1 (04:18):
One time for a little bit of before we had kids.

Speaker 2 (04:22):
We first moved to Denver from Fort Collins, uh, because
we lived in achievement parks and we would go John
Park was beautif park and especially in the mornings.

Speaker 3 (04:29):
And so we would do that. But she she liked
doing it. I like walking, big walking.

Speaker 5 (04:35):
What did you not like about rus? So you've run
one time in your life and.

Speaker 1 (04:38):
Then like that, like we did intervals.

Speaker 2 (04:42):
So we we like we did, like listen to the
thing in your ear and it basically tells you, okay,
now start running for another minute off and then run.

Speaker 4 (04:50):
Yeah, we did. We did that.

Speaker 1 (04:50):
So no, not.

Speaker 4 (04:53):
Really, you do not like about it. It felt that
on my joints. I don't know.

Speaker 2 (04:57):
It sounds like an old man thing, but but honestly,
like I felt in a way that I didn't want
to feel sore.

Speaker 5 (05:03):
Yeah, if that makes sense, you're running the sandals. I
probably did the shoes on, I probably, yeah, sandals in
a flannel flail, Yeah, flails, probably about. But if you
don't have the right kind of shoes on, you go running,
it's not It's not great.

Speaker 4 (05:20):
No, it's not great.

Speaker 2 (05:20):
By the way, you talking about purging demonic stuff, I
was like, maybe ayahuasca, Maybe.

Speaker 5 (05:25):
That's I actually thought about that after yesterday's show. I
thought about maybe some some sitting in a dark place.
And I'm not even sure how you take hyawashka. I
think it's iowa, not not hyo. What is it a
washka not hyowashka. Those two things sound the same to me. Yeah,

(05:45):
say it again, io washka. Okay, you said hiawashka hyahuasca.

Speaker 4 (05:52):
Yeah, that's how you said.

Speaker 5 (05:54):
I don't think there's an h So when you say
peaches and herb or people and some people say hr okay, right,
all right, okay, mister music man. Yeah, some people do,
all right. So ohiowash so so did that work for you?
Let me let me just I'll use your vernacular. So

(06:15):
I thought about ayohwashka, but I don't. I don't have
any and I'm not even sure again. I think I
asked you one time, do you smoke that?

Speaker 2 (06:23):
We found out we drink it seriously as Grant Remember
Grant said, it's a tea.

Speaker 4 (06:29):
Look at you?

Speaker 1 (06:29):
You need a hookup?

Speaker 3 (06:30):
Let me know.

Speaker 4 (06:31):
Wow.

Speaker 5 (06:32):
Okay, all right, So I think I would not do
I would not do well on ayohwashka tea. I fear
that once it started to sort of overwhelm me, I
would almost panic. Would you drink if if I brought
ayowashka tea to you? Maybe not in the air, but
when you went home, would you drink it?

Speaker 4 (06:53):
I would?

Speaker 1 (06:54):
I would say if I had like the weekend on
the other side, like.

Speaker 4 (06:57):
Really, how long the effect of ayohwashka last? That's a
great question. Nobody knows. I'm not interested. I'd like you
that type of experience. It kind of scares me at it. Yeah, yeah,
I don't like getting outside my body like that too far.
You're assuming that you're assuming that that's the result. I'm

(07:18):
assuming that, but I don't know. Am I right? Grant?
Am I right? Yeah?

Speaker 1 (07:24):
Head, Yes, I prepare to be scared a little.

Speaker 4 (07:27):
Yeah, really, maybe I do.

Speaker 1 (07:29):
Maybe not.

Speaker 4 (07:31):
You've tried it. I have not.

Speaker 1 (07:32):
I've partook another psychedelics that are similar.

Speaker 4 (07:35):
Really psychedelic grand Okay, well there you go.

Speaker 1 (07:40):
It's pretty pretty worldly guy.

Speaker 5 (07:41):
Yeah, I mean apparently so I didn't didn't realize that,
you know, Yeah, that's.

Speaker 1 (07:46):
A great mustache.

Speaker 2 (07:47):
Like all right, So we got a lot of fun
things to get through over the course of the next
three hours five six, six, nine zeros or kawe Comma
spirit health text line if you want to interact with
the program, So you start with the Rockies. Good stuff there,
the Avalanche, Holy Cow forcing a game seven. We have
Bill Hansley joining us here at three thirty.

Speaker 3 (08:05):
We're gonna have John Michael Lyles at five point thirty today,
so that's gonna be a lot of fun.

Speaker 1 (08:09):
So just ads for a moment here, Dave, what a
way that game? The ebbs and flows of that game.

Speaker 2 (08:17):
There were moments where I felt like, really really good
about it, and then the second period happened and I
felt really really bad about where the ads are at. Yeah,
but as soon as Valachus can score the game tying goal,
at that point, I was like, they got this thing.

Speaker 1 (08:29):
I have no worries whatsoever.

Speaker 2 (08:30):
And there was a lot of time left, and of
course he played the Nathan McKinnon shot that you.

Speaker 3 (08:34):
Know, off the guy's shoulder, right, But I felt good
at that point. How'd you feel about last night's game? Yeah,
I mean I thought they had. I thought they had.
I thought they had a great jump at the start.
I thought the energy was was really good. I thought
they were the better team. Now I didn't like I
didn't like how quickly Dallas sort of closed.

Speaker 5 (08:58):
But even I would say this with respect to your comment,
even when Dallas may going into the third period, when
Dallas is ahead four to three, I not one time
that I think, damn, they're going to lose this game.
I never thought, even down a goal, I never thought

(09:18):
the As were going to lose, And when they tied it,
I was certain that they would find a way to win. Now,
you know, you get two empty net goals at the end,
it looks looks like a blowout. But I'm anxious for
Game seven. You know, this is really if you're a
sports fan, I mean, this is sort of what you
look for. Everything on the line. One game and let's

(09:40):
go see what we can do.

Speaker 4 (09:42):
Yeah. I love how they opened last night. They were
swarming like angry honeybees out there, and they did look
like the better team, certainly the faster team and the
more skilled team. But man, the Stars came back in
that second period with four goals of their own. It's
going to be a great game seven tomorrow night. One

(10:03):
thing to watch for. I think in Dallas the ice
is much slower in Dallas, and maybe they do that
on purpose, especially with a team like the Avalanche. They
would have an excuse. We're in May now, this is
a Texas Sorry, the ice is a little sloppy, But
I would not be surprised if they keep it a
little sloppy on purpose to slow the team down.

Speaker 1 (10:23):
As said, forty eight shots to the Stars twenty.

Speaker 4 (10:25):
Six, Yeah, I mean they dominated.

Speaker 2 (10:28):
They dominated it, dominated it, And that's what was so frustrating,
because even after the second period, they had doubled up
the Stars in shots on net and you just sort
of felt like it's going to break.

Speaker 3 (10:36):
And I think that's where the optimism came from. It's like,
if they could just tie this thing. But it's one
of those deals like we see with hockey all the time.

Speaker 2 (10:43):
It's like everything is telling me that the ABS should
win this game, and if the scoreboard is the scoreboard,
and if they lost that game four to three, we'd
be sitting in here going, well, the season is ended,
and you did it. Seemed like you did everything you could,
but you didn't get that goal through. You got that one,
you got the bounce with the McKinnon one, and then
of course you had a couple of empty netters letter
to sort of assault it away. But I came out

(11:04):
of that thing and I love and we talked about
yesterday the ebbs and flows of a playoff series.

Speaker 7 (11:08):
I feel great. I feel really good about the ABS chances.

Speaker 2 (11:11):
Tomorrow night it may be completely unfounded because the Stars
shut him out, basically shut him out.

Speaker 3 (11:16):
I mean it was like six to two, but it
was dominance just a couple of nights ago. But today
we said here, I'm like, Av's got this.

Speaker 4 (11:23):
We're good. I think it.

Speaker 5 (11:24):
I think a game like last night for me at
least shows me how tenuous professional sports can be.

Speaker 4 (11:33):
We talked a little bit.

Speaker 5 (11:34):
About this yesterday and you posed the question a if
if the Ads tonight, which was last night, lose and
if the Nuggets lose Game six and then Game seven,
what does that mean for each organization?

Speaker 4 (11:51):
And I you know, my answer was, I'm not sure.

Speaker 5 (11:55):
I mean, Jared Bedner has had a lot of success
as the head coach, but this this is a tough
matchup in this first round because of Dallas sort of
their style, and Dallas.

Speaker 4 (12:09):
Has been good.

Speaker 5 (12:10):
I mean, they didn't finish the regular season on a
high note, but they've been They've been good the whole
year so and they had home ice. So if the
Ads lose, I don't know. I'm not sure what that
says about Jared Bednari And I think if the Nuggets
don't win Game seven and they're ousted in the first
round of the playoffs, could there be significant changes coming up,

(12:31):
including I mean the coach. I mean, who knows who's
going to be the coach and who will be the
next GM, But yes, I think there could be. Now.
On the other hand, if the Ads find a way
to win Game seven tomorrow night and then go and
I think I think if they do that, they are
poised to make a really deep run into the playoffs,

(12:53):
then maybe maybe no changes. But it all that's professional
sport at times. It just comes down to that. It
comes down to a puck being deflected off somebody's shoulder.

Speaker 4 (13:06):
And trickling into the net.

Speaker 5 (13:07):
And it's like, I mean, guys get hired and fired
based on plays like that.

Speaker 4 (13:12):
That's the one thing about you know, the NHL.

Speaker 5 (13:15):
I think the NHL is a little more unpredictable than
both the NBA and the NFL. Right, the NHL you
see plays like that, and I guess you see occasionally
in the NFL you'll see a tip ball or ball
go through somebody's hands and bounce off somebody's helmet and
all of a sudden a guy catches it and runs
for a touchdown, I suppose. But to me, at least,

(13:37):
I think you see more unpredictability in the National Hockey
League than any other professional sport.

Speaker 4 (13:43):
Yeah, I think that's that's a legit take. You know,
that puck takes a lot of crazy bounces and skips
and knocking off of skates and it sticks. And I
do think the Avalanche will win tomorrow night. But to
your point, Dave, I think if they don't. I feel
like Bednar is probably gone, that they will feel like
they have to make a change. If they're up first

(14:04):
round again, I think they're gonna win. I think they
have the better team. And since I believe they have
the better team and I think they do too, if
they lose tomorrow, probably gonna cost him his job.

Speaker 3 (14:16):
It's so tough to say, right, I know that we
typically don't try to root for those kinds of things.

Speaker 1 (14:21):
I know you're not rooting for that Rick. It's just
an acknowledgment of it's not good enough.

Speaker 2 (14:26):
But the simultaneous thing, just for a moment, you have
a conversation about when we said this going into it,
this might be the two best teams in the West.
Like legitimately, you could make an argument that the Dallas
Stars and the Colora Avalach.

Speaker 1 (14:38):
Even the way the Stars finished the season, which.

Speaker 3 (14:39):
Obviously was a slide, they were throughout the regular season
one of the best teams in hockey.

Speaker 1 (14:44):
And the fact that these two teams.

Speaker 2 (14:45):
Are seeing each other in the first round, does the
organization if they don't win tomorrow night, give an allowance
for the fact that it was a tough draw.

Speaker 5 (14:53):
Yeah, maybe, I think you know Peter de boor I
think the Dallas coach. If you ask most a longtime
National Hockey League people, they'd say, man, that guy, I mean,
he's he's very difficult to beat. I don't think he's
ever in his career loss to game seven. I think

(15:13):
I believe this to be true. His record in games
in game seven's.

Speaker 4 (15:18):
Is eight to no.

Speaker 1 (15:20):
So that's correct.

Speaker 4 (15:21):
So now you look at that one of two ways.

Speaker 5 (15:25):
Either that guy is a hell of a coach and
nobody's going to beat that team in a game seven,
or you look at it like, you know what, he's
been great, but they're due. I think, I want to
think and I think the Abs have the better team.
I think they're the certainly the better skating team. But

(15:45):
Dallas and Rick's right about the ice. We'll see. The
weather's supposed to be my ans down there and actually
talked to her today. Weather's supposed to be pretty pleasant tomorrow,
mid seventies. So for Dallas this time of the year,
it can be a lot hotter than that. But I
think I think the ice it probably will not be
as crisp as it is here. And so yes, you
want to you want to slow down the aves in

(16:08):
every possible way. It's just it's exciting we get two
game sevens. I don't like the idea that they're at
the same friggin time. Yeah, I mean, honestly, what a
great night is going to be tomorrow night? Though it's
great two game.

Speaker 2 (16:22):
Sevens, it's so tough, like even last night, it's so
tough to absorb all of it, like you really want
to just you're missing something.

Speaker 1 (16:28):
Yeah, you're gonna mistle picture and picture.

Speaker 5 (16:30):
Yeah, but still, you know, you're even if you're picture
and picture, you're moving, I mean, you're you're looking back
and forth. Yes, it it'd be better if they didn't play.
To say, who do we blame on that thing? Is
there somebody to blame?

Speaker 8 (16:42):
You know?

Speaker 2 (16:42):
I saw earlier today and I'll credit Vic Lombardi because he, uh,
he's more tied into this than I am. He said
that the NHL had the choice, like this is perfect,
that the NHL had the choice and they opted to
put him head to head, Like the NHL could have
said no, you know, well, because the NBA, for whatever.

Speaker 3 (17:01):
Reason, already decided what they were going to do. So
this is this is not the first time though, even
in this series.

Speaker 1 (17:06):
Yes, Oh no, it's not.

Speaker 5 (17:07):
This is like I want to say, this will be
the third time I think it is that the Abs
and the Nuggets have played at the at basically the
same time. I mean, you have to be the smartest
guy in the room to think, like, how is that
a good idea?

Speaker 1 (17:25):
Miserable?

Speaker 4 (17:25):
And they started so late both series. Yeah, you know,
guys like me to get up at three point thirty
in the morning. I can't stay up to watch Oh
those games suck it up? I mean serious, Do you
think I really should day? Yes, this is game seven here, Rick,
and you don't get up seven. It's different. Yeah, you
don't to get up on Sunday. I'm talking during the week.

(17:46):
Those late games, they pretty much taken a big chunk
of the audience out of it.

Speaker 5 (17:51):
On the way, guy, do you think other people go
to bed at eight forty five? I mean you and
could be a lot of apple sauce. That's my world, Dave.

Speaker 4 (18:04):
No, I get up at three thirty, so it's hard
to stay up and watch a game when they're gonna
stay up till eleven or midnight. When you get up
at three thirty, you know, trying to be a professional
Dave and be sharp from my morning show. Yeah, you know,
are you still doing that? Wow? No, I haven't. No,
I haven't, I haven't, I haven't. I haven't listened to
it lately. You know something I don't know?

Speaker 5 (18:26):
And Kathy's Kathy's good, Kathy right, Yeah, okay, I just
want to make you know, I just right.

Speaker 1 (18:32):
Okay, make sure do you look directly at me when
you said what.

Speaker 4 (18:36):
I ask you? If you're still doing that?

Speaker 1 (18:37):
Oh, I miss Kathy, I'm starting looking Is it hot?

Speaker 5 (18:42):
Yeah? It knows something I don't know. At least they're
gonna get all of us, right. I just want to
make sure, really we're friends. We all three friends. I
just want to make sure you're still still doing the
game for the employee.

Speaker 4 (18:54):
Good. Good for you. Good. I love the Fox. Well,
thanks Dave. Yeah, you might want to tune in three
five wake up at eleven am in the morning. I'm
already done. Day is over. I know, I wish that
were the case. Have you guys noticed maybe it's just
me that how much Jared Bednar has aged in like

(19:14):
the past year or two. Watching him last night, you know,
he's got way more gray hair on his head. He
think he's just you kind of shocked me a little bit. Really,
I honestly, I haven't all coaches do we know that?
But I mean he looks great. I'm a fan of his.

Speaker 2 (19:34):
For the amount of hair he has. It's like flowing
and have a good suit. He had a great so
very colorful. Was that last night or was that game
last night?

Speaker 4 (19:44):
That game five?

Speaker 2 (19:45):
Well, game five was funny because there was a fan
right behind him that was like dressed up just like him.

Speaker 4 (19:50):
Which one did he had the gold had a gold. Yeah,
it looks like a Sultan Pepper Instagram model. It likes
male Instagram model with salt and pepper hair.

Speaker 7 (20:03):
So curiously, the ass move on from him. At least
he's got that going for him.

Speaker 4 (20:08):
Yeah, I mean he could probably have a career on this.
You go to bed at eight forty five.

Speaker 2 (20:14):
Hey, coach, you know, tough break there, losing the first
round of the ass moving on from you.

Speaker 4 (20:19):
However, I know, I know some people tremendous hair. I'm
just saying, I get you hooked up. Even with the
salt and pepper pepper modeling Instagram modeling looks great.

Speaker 1 (20:27):
He wears the heck out of those suits.

Speaker 4 (20:30):
He does dress well too. I admire him.

Speaker 1 (20:34):
Richard the best.

Speaker 4 (20:35):
I love it. Man.

Speaker 7 (20:35):
That's great you're again. But that's the optimism, Dave.

Speaker 1 (20:38):
Remember you got to get me in this one. That's
a perfect example too.

Speaker 4 (20:43):
Well.

Speaker 7 (20:43):
Okay, that's a perfect example of the optimism. Like, hey man,
no it is Dave knows.

Speaker 4 (20:48):
Me really well. I'm looking at the bright side of it. Yes,
if he does lose his job after tomorrow, he could
be a Salmn Pepper Instagram influencer. Okay, yeah, we're off
really in a.

Speaker 1 (21:01):
Very excited to have you with us.

Speaker 2 (21:03):
We're gonna see the tickets to give away coming up
in the four o'clock hours to listen for that Q
two call. When we come back, though, Bill Hanslick is
going to join us to talk about the Nuggets.

Speaker 1 (21:11):
They've got a big game seven tomorrow. We'll get to
it next.

Speaker 2 (21:21):
Our next guest probably chiming on this, Bill Hanslock, the
Great Bill Hansley joining us.

Speaker 1 (21:25):
Is it peaches an herb or herb? What peaches in cream?

Speaker 6 (21:33):
I'll go, you know, sort of Wimbledon. Is that strawberries
and cream? But that's what I'll go with, peaches and cream.
So good, great, so hey, hands. We're we're trying to uh,
I think we're we're of the optimistic sort.

Speaker 5 (21:49):
The game seven coming up Saturday night, Nuggets hosting the Clippers.
In your mind, what what what couple of things is
the Nugget have to get done? I mean, it's it's
a tough game, for sure, but you knew this series
was going to be a long one and a tough one,
and the Clippers didn't have home court, and yet they
were favored in the series. Now comes down to one

(22:11):
game at home. What couple of things are most important
for the Nuggets to win?

Speaker 9 (22:16):
Well, David, you're a head.

Speaker 10 (22:19):
How about two?

Speaker 9 (22:20):
You get to add them the Nuggets at two games.
There's not much better in sports, especially if you know,
you know, I think back and I remember remember when
Michael Malone was let go and indeed came in.

Speaker 10 (22:38):
He had to win three in.

Speaker 9 (22:40):
A row at the end of the season, coming off
some turmoil to get that four seed. And what four
seed got you? It got your home court.

Speaker 10 (22:50):
So you're you're were you know, it's that little bit
that could do that extra to win.

Speaker 4 (22:55):
I think I always.

Speaker 6 (22:56):
Parked points to the defensive end of the court first,
and now the Nuggets.

Speaker 10 (23:01):
There's twenty four quarters of.

Speaker 9 (23:03):
Basketball that have been played so far in this series.
In twelve of those, the.

Speaker 10 (23:09):
Nuggets have helped Clippers twenty.

Speaker 6 (23:11):
Five points or less, and they won eleven of them.
I'm not saying every quarter has to be twenty.

Speaker 10 (23:17):
Five or less, but I'm the Nuggets defensive game have
to show up.

Speaker 9 (23:22):
They have to be up on the ball for Trian,
for some turnos and.

Speaker 6 (23:30):
You know, limit straight.

Speaker 9 (23:31):
Line drives of James Harden right to the who and
other you know, just defensively. If the Nuggets are good,
which they've been that way in some of the wins
in the series, I think they won this game.

Speaker 4 (23:44):
Hey Hans, it's Rick Lewis. Good to hear your voice again. Man,
How you doing?

Speaker 9 (23:48):
How are you?

Speaker 4 (23:48):
My friend? Doing good? You know, this series has been
up and down, as everybody knows, and I just can't
seem to get a good read on it. I texted
my friend Dave Logan last night, said, how do you
feel about this game tonight? Go ahead? Yeah, Dave happen
to be a friend of mine, right, and so does
Bill Hanselok. By the way, Ryan, that's right, I've been around.
I've been around a while Ryan, yeah, sorry, sorry, and uh,

(24:12):
I just can't seem to get a good feel for it.
But watching the Clippers last night, I did say, take
the Nuggets.

Speaker 1 (24:18):
You did six and a half.

Speaker 4 (24:19):
It will cover it. Cover it absolutely did, and thank
you for that. So I feel like if the Clippers
big three play like they did last night, they're going
to be a very tough team to beat tomorrow night,
even at ball Arena. What do you think?

Speaker 9 (24:37):
Absolutely? But oh, how do they play that way? Well,
if the Nuggets are soft defensively, they couldn't.

Speaker 10 (24:45):
They could play it away very easily.

Speaker 9 (24:48):
So I think a tough, physical defensive ability, you know,
that's what the Nuggets need.

Speaker 6 (24:56):
And you know the other thing that's hurt the Nuggets
is have Michael Porter Junior with a hurt shoulder.

Speaker 9 (25:03):
I mean, he was not much in that last game
and they could have used him, and he's just that
armor is just packed in there. Well, dadon Baedelman, he's
always said, you know, if you're going, well, I'm playing
you will he go to.

Speaker 6 (25:20):
Peyton Watson Moore or Russell Westbrook.

Speaker 4 (25:22):
With more minutes.

Speaker 9 (25:24):
I'm not sure that shoulder can make a difference, but
you sure know that if he gets a three point
game going, that could make a difference.

Speaker 2 (25:32):
Bill Hansley joining us. It was a really savvy move
last night for Tyer Low too. I mean he started
Chris Dunn, but Nick Batoom was the player that got
the most minutes. It really helped out the spacing for
Kawhi and James Harden. What, in your opinion, without giving
way too much of the game plan, what would you
do to sort of combat that, because it did really

(25:53):
feel like it kind of messed with the flow for
the Nuggets.

Speaker 9 (25:56):
Well, I you know, I don't worry.

Speaker 10 (25:59):
About the tomb offensively that much.

Speaker 9 (26:02):
Yeah, he said some breeze, but they're not like dagger
in your back.

Speaker 10 (26:05):
Doing what they've had some success with is putting them
on Joker.

Speaker 9 (26:09):
And they had Zubah kind of on the war in
the weak side, rotating over position, maybe on get a
little bit. So the thing that you just marvels at me,
maybe it's the LA thing. I just don't like LA teams,
any of them. But but how n Kolea Jokic with
the physical contact that's going on, the last game he

(26:32):
had two free throw attests. Come on, rest, it's not right,
you know, if you're some of the other so called
stars in the game, that number would have been ten
or twelve. That could have been a difference maker.

Speaker 10 (26:45):
So the Tom's going to be on Joker early and often.

Speaker 9 (26:49):
He played thirty four minutes last game. Maybe maybe a
little burnt out from that because he's no Dave Logan's age.

Speaker 10 (26:55):
He's kind of up there.

Speaker 5 (26:57):
Yeah, well, you know what, you didn't already arguments for
me on that one either. You know what I would
say last last off for me, you know, and you
bring up I think a really good point about the defense.
I think then the offense is going to take care
of itself. I think the defense will create some turnovers,
which then you get some runouts, then you maybe get

(27:18):
some easy looks. And I think the key to that
has been the last couple of games. It's it seems
like Jamal who's been much more aggressive. Now, I didn't
score forty three last night, but he's he's he's never
been a catch and shoot guy. I've seen him do
that a little bit more in the last couple of games.
And I think, again, you don't want to work every

(27:41):
single time down against the half court defense of the.

Speaker 10 (27:43):
Clippers a hundred percent, right, I mean, you don't want
to do that.

Speaker 9 (27:48):
And the little mini change if they put Kawhi center
on Jamal Lanscame, didn't have Jim packed in the first
quarter because Jamal had a great start, but later on
it does.

Speaker 10 (28:00):
This game still surrounds to me, Joker's got to be
a score.

Speaker 9 (28:03):
Yeah, he's a.

Speaker 10 (28:04):
Great passer, but get the Clippers in foul.

Speaker 9 (28:08):
Trouble scoring paint and then the three balls are going
to be wide open, and that's what they've got to have,
you know, paint points with open threes, and then I
feel pretty good offensively about what the Nuggets can do.

Speaker 4 (28:23):
We're talking to Bill Hanslick Bill last night. Watching the game,
the announcers kept referring to Jamal Murray as playoff Murray,
which to me kind of felt like a is that
a backhanded compliment? Yeah, they're saying, yeah, he plays great
in the playoffs, but they're also saying he doesn't during
the regular season. Am I right about that?

Speaker 9 (28:43):
Well? You know, I mean no, I mean regular sees
that he has his moments. He had a lot of injuries,
but playoffs are just different. More time, often between games,
you can heal up a little bit more and he's
able to been able to go.

Speaker 4 (29:00):
He's played.

Speaker 10 (29:01):
I think he's even more minutes.

Speaker 9 (29:03):
A joker in this series, and he's stood up. I
look for yeah, I looked for Jamal having a big
game at home tomorrow night. And uh, that's that's that's
good news for the Nuggets.

Speaker 4 (29:16):
Bell.

Speaker 2 (29:17):
We appreciate you man, thank you so much for the
time this afternoon, and can't wait to get underway tomorrow
when we have to watch both games. We are excited
to watch both games, but more importantly your coverage as well.

Speaker 1 (29:27):
Thank you, sir, got it. You have a great day,
all right, the great Bill Hanslick.

Speaker 4 (29:33):
He's awesome. He's so great.

Speaker 1 (29:37):
I tell you what that is.

Speaker 2 (29:38):
And when you know, we'll spend some time over the
next few hours talking about the game, specifically last night
and what to expect in Game seven. That decision by
ty lu with Nick Batoomb, that was a that was
a big deal. It was a big difference in the game. Yeah,
it worked out for sure. I mean, Chris don't only
play ten minutes.

Speaker 4 (29:56):
Yeah, that's right.

Speaker 5 (29:57):
He missed his first shot and then he had he
had trouble on the defensive end. I think tyleru when
you when you talk about him and he's greatness as
a head coach, you focus on the defensive end. He's
he's that guy, and so I think he looked at
that game last night and said, hey, I'm gonna have
plenty of offense, but I better find a way to
make these guys work a little bit more than they've

(30:19):
had to work. But Tuomas is interesting to me. He
had a couple of blocks last night. He got one
of Joker's layups. I thought, I thought Joker went to
the basket two or three times and didn't get a call,
even even late in the game. They're down five and
he's got what looks to be a layup. He missed it,
but I thought he got fouled. But but buttoom Is,

(30:41):
he's also a three point threat, which opens up the
court a little bit. I mean, you've got two isolation
players in Kawhi and the Beard. Kawhi can play in
the blocks, and again he presents a lot of problems.
Aaron Gordon, as I said, yesterday's good as anybody in
the league playing. But he's he's a monster in terms

(31:02):
of his strength and size and abilities. He's a great,
you know, mid range score, but I think the Nuggets
are I think it's gonna be a hard, fog game.
I think the Nuggets will find a way to win.
I don't know that it's going to be like Game five,
but I think the Nuggets find a way to win
in advance with a big, big victory tomorrow night.

Speaker 4 (31:22):
Yeah, And like I said, the hands when the Clippers
big three play like that, they can beat anybody. And
who's going to be the Nuggets third between Murray and Joker,
that's the big question. Mpg's got to show up a
G two ag yep. And you mentioned him how great

(31:43):
he is on defense, but when Leonard's on his game,
he's pretty much unstoppable. I haven't seen him in a while.
Does he still have the mustache? That's kind of his signature.

Speaker 1 (31:56):
It's a signature mustache.

Speaker 4 (31:57):
Still has it? Still has it? Okay? Yeah?

Speaker 1 (32:00):
Yeah, the signature mustache for Bill Janslick is great.

Speaker 2 (32:02):
No, I mean, listen, as a Nuggets fan, that's exactly
what you felt like we were talking about a bit
during the break. Just there is some out of sorts,
especially in the second half. But I mean, you know,
Nicole Yokis shoots two free throws in a playoff game.

Speaker 4 (32:14):
I mean, what are we doing here?

Speaker 5 (32:16):
Yeah, I thought, I mean, obviously I'm pulling for the Nuggets,
but I thought there were I mean, I thought they
let a.

Speaker 4 (32:23):
Lot of stuff go on inside.

Speaker 5 (32:26):
You want to let you want to let players decide
in the playoffs, and I'm all for physical play. I
love that, but but I mean, I'll give you an
example too, watching before last night's game, watching the Knicks
and the Pistons, I can't remember. I think you have
to go back to the eighties in early nineties watching

(32:49):
a series that has been allowed to be that physical.

Speaker 4 (32:54):
I mean, it's it's like, wow, it's amazing. And I thought,
I thought k last night.

Speaker 5 (33:00):
I mean a couple of times inside, you know, he
gets he gets bounced around for a guy that size.
I mean, and you know what, Ryan, you brought up
the point in the break that David Adelman referred to
that in some of his postgame comments, which I think
is probably smart.

Speaker 4 (33:16):
At this point of the season. Actually how that sound?
Here is what he said.

Speaker 1 (33:19):
This is totally seven game series.

Speaker 8 (33:22):
Obviously we wanted to close it out today, but it's
an eating good match. Serious, there's so many good players
out there, guys that had a nice Jamaal his idead night,
you know, Kawani James and good one to night Coles
at his night and Nicolas found.

Speaker 4 (33:37):
A lot I'm not sure what was happening side.

Speaker 8 (33:40):
We had to shoot to pre dross and did not
a contact of the sun going on there was absolutely crazy.
They put smalls on him. Those smalls are allowed to
do whatever they want.

Speaker 9 (33:49):
So I'm really scared for.

Speaker 8 (33:50):
Saturday that we were at the same thing of their.

Speaker 7 (33:52):
Best players, because that's the physicality.

Speaker 8 (33:54):
Allowed to play with.

Speaker 2 (33:55):
We'll react to him.

Speaker 1 (33:57):
And we will go there on gains.

Speaker 5 (33:58):
So I sort of like that, yeah, like, hey, if
it's gonna be a loud yeah, man, he said. You know,
he said, well, well that that's what we're gonna do
on Saturday with their players. I mean that's I mean
very rare for you know, professional coaches to sort of say, hey,
buckle up for the next game, fellas.

Speaker 4 (34:18):
And they're letting him play. And I like that. And
it is a more physical game. And I'm thinking about
that Lebron flop the other night, which one the one
where he acted like somebody shot.

Speaker 1 (34:29):
Him but Devegenzo ran into him, which shot.

Speaker 4 (34:31):
Which time, Well, he does that more than does But
I thought of you, Dave as a former NFL player
that used to catch passes over the middle in the
seventies and eighties. When you see that as a pro athlete,
it's gotta make you sick.

Speaker 5 (34:45):
Well, I really thought he was seriously hurt. He is,
he's a good actor.

Speaker 1 (34:50):
He had a great to mcl sprain as a result
of it.

Speaker 5 (34:52):
So that yeah, because I thought when he then when
he got up and he and he really walked just
gingle him like, okay, he he got his knee buckled
on that one.

Speaker 1 (35:03):
But you weren't alone. There were a lot of people
speculating that he.

Speaker 4 (35:05):
Was just I thought he was. He's a pretty good actor.
Well maybe on that one he I thought he was
a pretty good actor. All the other flops pretty obvious, right,
and now when he there was barely any contact on
that one when he went.

Speaker 5 (35:19):
No, he got hit pretty I mean, I'm not arguing
with it. Yeah, he looks like about the one where
the Vincenzo ran into him.

Speaker 4 (35:27):
I thought he I thought he didn't see him coming.

Speaker 5 (35:30):
Now when he the way he laid with his face
on the floor, it was like he thought like wow,
but then when he got him walked him like Okay.

Speaker 4 (35:39):
He tweaked his knee. For sure, I didn't think he
was going to come back in the game. But back
to my question, when you see flops like that in
the NBA, based on your career and guys that played
in that era of football, you gotta be gout come. Yeah.
I mean there are some there. There's flopping that goes on.
For sure.

Speaker 5 (35:56):
I didn't think that was a flop, but but he
has been known to flop, and there's other guys that
flop flop as well. I'm anxious to see how the
game is officiated. I'm anxious to see which crew the
league puts on this game Saturday, specially especially after what
David Adelman said, right, And I think early in the game,
whomever those three officials are, it's going to be incumbent

(36:19):
upon them to sort of say, hey, here's what we're
going to allow, here's what we're not going to allow

Speaker 4 (36:25):
And then stick with that for the entire game.
