Speaker 1 (00:00):
Welcome back, Dave Logan, Ryan Evers, Rick Lewis. We'll check
out with romy Bean out at Ball Arena at five
point thirty, get her thoughts in a little lay of
the land as the Nuggets and the Thunder. I'm gonna
go in action tonight at Game three at Ball Arena.
Tip for that at a round eight o'clock, but I
imagine that's gonna be close to eight fifteen. We'll get
back into that game here in just a little bit
five six six nine zeros are Kwa commenspert Health text line.
(00:23):
So the rookies reported today or at least today it
was the first day of mini camp for the rookies.
Speaker 2 (00:28):
You know, one thing I was thinking about today, Dave, because.
Speaker 1 (00:31):
We talked about this going into the draft, how the
Broncos sort of tabled all discussions with Zach Allen, Nick, Benito,
Courtland Sutton, John Franklin Myers, for example, all kind of
at the end of their contracts, respectively.
Speaker 2 (00:47):
So now that we're on the other side of the.
Speaker 1 (00:50):
Draft, are any of those guys are or who would
you prioritize if you're the Broncos based on what you
were able to accomplish in the draft Ooh.
Speaker 3 (01:04):
I mean, I think you have to get the I
think you have to get the defensive line situation figured out.
Speaker 4 (01:12):
I don't. I don't know exactly how.
Speaker 3 (01:15):
They view how they be and the Broncos view the
Zach Allen and the John Franklin Myers thing, right, I
mean I would try to get My hope is from
an outsider's perspective looking in as you get both of
them signed. Now, you know, if you it depends on
who you believe and what numbers you believe when you
see what that's.
Speaker 4 (01:37):
Gonna take to get done. I don't know.
Speaker 3 (01:42):
So without without knowing exactly how they feel, I'd probably
start there. I would probably start inside the interior of
that Broncos defense, and I would find a way to
try to get Zach Allen re signed as long as
the number wasn't so prohibitive that it's like we can't
(02:03):
do it. And I don't think it's equally as important,
but I think it's pretty damn important that John Franklin Myers.
Speaker 4 (02:11):
Comes back and is happy with his deal too.
Speaker 5 (02:15):
Yeah, Zach Allen had the best year of his career.
He was dominant most of the year. They started double
team meeting him a lot in the back half of
the season, which affected his productivity a bit. But the
guy who benefited benefited from that was John Franklin Myers. Yeah,
those two as a tandem, I think you've really got
something there. I don't know if they can keep them both,
(02:37):
but I think Zach Allen, yeah, he's Vanchi Joseph's guy.
I do think you need to bring him back, pay him,
and then what do you do with JFM. I'm not sure,
but those two together, you know, JFM had a good
year two and some of that ways because Zach Allen
(02:58):
drew so much attention.
Speaker 1 (03:00):
You also drafted save On Jones. So maybe there's a
mindset and maybe you need You can't.
Speaker 5 (03:05):
You can't.
Speaker 2 (03:06):
You can't sign everybody, right.
Speaker 1 (03:07):
Let mean, let's just for argument's sake, say you'd like
to bring back and keep all of them.
Speaker 2 (03:12):
And I think by next.
Speaker 1 (03:13):
Year your salary cap situation is is it a very
good one, especially with a rookie quarterback. But you probably
don't have the mindset of, like, we really want to
pay all these guys. That's why I kind of asked,
this is who you're prioritizing. I agree with Zach Allen.
I think that's that's the most obvious. We prioritize Zach
Allen first and foremost. Do you want to see another
season Nick Benito performing at this kind of level?
Speaker 5 (03:34):
Me personally, I think I would.
Speaker 2 (03:36):
Okay, so you say, one more year in your rookie contract.
Speaker 5 (03:39):
Really broke out last year.
Speaker 2 (03:41):
Team and a half sacks.
Speaker 5 (03:43):
Yeah, he had a fantastic gear if you could. I
would like to see another year of productivity from him.
He certainly seems to be emerging and evolving to be
a dominant force. If you see that again, maybe even
you know, five six games into this season, you offer
him a deal, you get him signed. He looks like
(04:03):
he could be special.
Speaker 2 (04:04):
Yeah, And that's a good point, David.
Speaker 1 (04:06):
I mean, these aren't situations that have to exist all
before training camp or all.
Speaker 2 (04:10):
Before the season starts. They staggered these things.
Speaker 1 (04:12):
They did sol last year, right, I mean, they got
a couple of contracts done early.
Speaker 2 (04:16):
As the season wore on, they ended up getting Garret
Boles done.
Speaker 1 (04:18):
I think Jonathan Cooper maybe that was before the season
or right around the early part of the season. But
they staggered some of these so you could do the
same kind of thing. Do you agree with Rick about
waiting on Nick Benito a little bit? He's by the way,
he's putting out some stuff on.
Speaker 2 (04:31):
Twitter last couple of days.
Speaker 1 (04:33):
There's been a little bit of a push from his
camp to try to get something going here.
Speaker 5 (04:38):
Yeah, I mean that you.
Speaker 3 (04:39):
I mean, players want to get paid, especially when they've
had really good seasons, and Nick has had, I mean
last year. I agree with Rick had a spectacular year,
and he's given him every indication that he I mean,
he's he's got that kind of talent. But one of
the things that I like about Benita is he's smart
(05:04):
and he seems to be a guy that's about hard work,
about understanding what, you know, the game of professional football
really is about. And and I just have an appreciation
of that. But as you said, you're probably not going
to be able to sign every single player that you
want to sign. I don't know, really realistically, how they
(05:25):
look at Savian Jones and and you'll know more after
the rookie minute camp and see how he moves.
Speaker 4 (05:32):
And but that's that's.
Speaker 3 (05:34):
Why you draft guys, right You draft guys as insurance
policies in some cases to hey, if something happens to
the starter, or we can't bring him back, or maybe
he's here for the next year and that he's gone,
And I think that might that might be the case
with a guy like Cortland Sutton, who my hope is
they they bring him back. I think they will. But
(05:56):
then you look at the rest of the room and
now with Pat Bryant drafted and he still have you know,
other good young receivers. If I had to guess, I
would say this is probably the last one for court.
Speaker 2 (06:11):
So you'd let Court go ahead and play. That's such
a see that was the most.
Speaker 3 (06:16):
I think they try to sweeten the pot at least
right back. But what I am saying is I think
this may very well be the last year for him.
If I mean, Pat Bryant shows them anything in terms of, hey,
this guy, we got to find a way to get
this guy in the field. Veyle, i think is a
(06:37):
seventh round pick, showed him enough that even though he
got hurt early in the season, I think they like him.
They like his dependability. I mean, he's similar to Pat
Bryant so and you could say from a skill set
standpoint and even a body structure, Courtland's a little bit
bigger than both, but they're all similar. They're all those
(06:58):
three players have similar traits as far as their football
skill set. So I just would be surprised, honestly, if
you know, I mean, it gets to a point where
you get a little bit older, you're making too much money.
They draft somebody. They're not making it nearly as much money.
They might not be quite as good as you, but
(07:19):
they're good enough where the team says, Okay, we can
save that much money if we don't do this and
spend it on somebody else. And that's usually how the
NFL works.
Speaker 5 (07:29):
It's a really young wide receiver room and even younger
running back room, and I feel like they need to
bring a veteran in both running back and wide receiver,
some veteran presence other than Courtland Sutton, certainly at running back.
I'd be shocked if they started the season with this
group they have. I don't know who that would be,
(07:52):
and I don't think you necessarily have to spend a
lot of money to get that guy, but just to
get a veteran in that room to help these young
guys out.
Speaker 1 (08:00):
Yeah, we talked about that quite a bit for a
few days now. Since the draft that it feels like
that's probably the one missing thing. I do think, and
we've also talked about this, the inside linebacker room is
a little bit that's a little bit tenuous. Right now,
you're banking on some health, which again, in May, that's
okay to bank on. But if we get into closer
(08:20):
to July, maybe you're you're kind of looking at that
room a little bit.
Speaker 2 (08:24):
But yeah, I think everything you.
Speaker 1 (08:24):
Guys said is right. I think with Corland Sutton, you
want to keep him happy, especially with a young quarterback.
I don't think you've done enough, in my opinion, I
don't think you've done enough this offseason to just move
on from him. Right if you'd have drafted Matthew Golden
for example, not saying kind of wide receiver, don't get
me wrong, but let's just say you took Matthew Golden
to pick twenty, I think we're having a bit of
a different conversation about Courtland Sutton about your number one
(08:48):
wide receiver.
Speaker 2 (08:48):
Wouldn't we No, I think.
Speaker 3 (08:53):
Because of Matthew golden skill set. He's a speed receiver.
So if you draft Matthew Golden the twenty, to me,
the guy that that most directly effects is Troy Franklin, gotcha,
not Cortland. The fact that you draft a receiver out
of Illinois in the third round and your head coach
comes out and talks about there are similarities to Pat
(09:17):
Bryant's skill set and that of Michael Thomas in New
Orleans that if I'm if I'm Devon Vley or from
Courtland Sutton, that those are eye opening comments. Now, you know,
maybe maybe Pat Bryant's not ready to go, Maybe he's
(09:37):
maybe he's not going to be a guy in terms
of really getting a lot of offensive snaps until midway
through the year or late in the year. I don't know,
but I would be surprised. I'd be surprised if he's
not in the mix, like right right away. And I
haven't seen him against NFL caliber cornerbacks and so could
(10:00):
be wrong. But I'm just saying, based on how the
Broncos talked about him, it's specifically how Sean Payton talked
about him, I think he's going to be in the mix.
And if that's the case, you know, somebody's probably not
in the mix as much as they were last year.
Speaker 5 (10:14):
And going back to your comment about the inside linebacker room.
I'm a little concerned about that as well. Green Law
with a history of injuries and mostly Alex Singleton coming
back off a serious injury. I really like Alex Singleton,
and he does make a lot of tackles, but a
lot of times you see him chasing. I hope he
(10:36):
comes back at least as strong and as fast as
he was before. But if he's even lost half a step,
I think you got a problem there. And we'll see
if they maybe address that as well before we kick
it off in week one.
Speaker 2 (10:49):
Yeah, but there.
Speaker 1 (10:50):
I mean again, I don't want to make it sound
like there's some major concerns he because I think they're
in pretty good shape with almost everything else. Yeah, and
you're gonna see what he looks like.
Speaker 2 (11:01):
You have time.
Speaker 1 (11:02):
You have some time, and all of these players, you
have some time with some decisions that you're gonna make.
And asually mentioned with Pap Ryan, we've seen every year
wide receivers in training camp and an OTA's boy, they
can look good because you're running against air, You're not
running against true defensive challenge. So I would be I'd
be stunned if we don't come out of training camp
saying pat Ryan could absolutely be a Stubb. And by
(11:23):
the way, you brought up Devon Veley, his performance in
the offseason is why they moved on from Tim Patrick.
So it's not like this this team hasn't maken them
made those choices before where they say, let's just go
with some.
Speaker 2 (11:34):
Of these young guys and see what they can do.
Speaker 5 (11:36):
Well.
Speaker 3 (11:36):
I think the injuries and the fact that he had
been paid what he was paid the previous two years, and.
Speaker 4 (11:46):
I think when you put all those.
Speaker 3 (11:48):
Things together and then you get a seventh thrown draft
choice that looks pretty good and is by NFL standards
not making much money, then I think that that.
Speaker 4 (11:57):
Put Patrick in jeopardy.
Speaker 2 (11:59):
Yeah, to be in the case, all right.
Speaker 1 (12:01):
So I think that's kind of an interesting thing that
we get to bat a round over the course of
the offseason see if the Broncos get some of those
contracts done or if they decide to wait into the season,
which I think for all of them, you could make
the argument that you get into the season with every
single one.
Speaker 2 (12:14):
Of those guys and just see how it sort of
shakes out.
Speaker 1 (12:16):
Five six, six nine zeros a Kwa Kammasbury Heill text line,
we got the Nuggets and the Thunder coming up, and
the game will chicken with romy bean out there at
ball Arena. So for this game tonight, we've talked about
it getting off to a fast star Rick and certainly
when you're thinking about for the Nuggets, probably starts on
the defensive side, right, It's not so much of an
offensive conversation. I think it starts with a defensive conversation
(12:38):
more than anything.
Speaker 5 (12:38):
You agree, absolutely, and yeah, fast start at home essential,
and the Thunder knows the brug. The Nuggets are going
to bring the heat right a tip off, and the
fans are going to bring the heat tonight. That place
is going to be lit. And to me, the Thunder
is just they're just going to try to withstand that
first initial maybe five to six minutes, when the adrenaline
(13:02):
is really pumping. The Nuggets are pissed off about how
that last game played out for them and embarrassed. Would
I would think they come out on fire. Thunder just
I think just hang with the Nuggets for the first
five six minutes and then we'll see where the game
goes from there. But yeah, the Nuggets get behind early again.
(13:23):
You know there's a point where when you get completely
embarrassed and blown out like they did. That was an
historic blowout. And maybe this is a good question for you, Dave.
As a professional athlete, can you lose a little bit
of confidence, like, hey, you know these guys are better
than us? That that was a horrible beatdown. It wasn't
(13:44):
a close game at any point of that game. And
if the thunder gets up on them tonight, could they
maybe check out a little bit and go, Okay, these
guys are just better than us.
Speaker 4 (13:54):
I mean, I maybe they could.
Speaker 5 (13:57):
You don't see it happening, They don't. I don't How
does how does a pro athlete look at that? Though?
From your perspective, I.
Speaker 3 (14:04):
Mean, every every game, every game is is it's own
unique kind of challenge.
Speaker 4 (14:09):
And you know when you're.
Speaker 3 (14:13):
You know on all I have from a professional standpoint
is is the NFL. But you know, when you're going
on the road, you're facing a really good team. And
I will say this to your point, I think there
are in situations like that. There comes a time or
two in a game, but normally it's late it's second
(14:34):
half where you know, if they score again, it's like
it's gonna be tough. For us to win this game.
So but I I see, I don't necessarily think the Nuggets.
I think the Nuggets have a healthy respect for OKAC.
But I'll tell you what my view of this matchup change.
(14:54):
It's the time they played back to back games at
OKAC and the first game, Okay See played great, came out,
won it, and the next night the Nuggets put like
one forty on them, and it was like wow. So
(15:16):
I really think you're gonna get whatever it is, the
best version of the Nuggets tonight, the absolute best version
in terms of the intensity they bring to the game,
how they play defense, all of it.
Speaker 4 (15:29):
I think you're.
Speaker 3 (15:30):
Gonna get the absolute best the Nuggets.
Speaker 5 (15:32):
Have, and the fans too. Of course, we'll keep them
in any type of treacherous situation or even a slow start.
The fans are going to be in it, no doubt.
You know that for sure. I totally agree with you.
Speaker 1 (15:46):
I think your point earlier about Russ Westbrook that might
be why, if you're David Adelman, you consider starting him
or at least having a quick intro for him, like
an entry point where you're saying we need some energy.
Because he was the best player for the Nuggets in
Game two as bad as bad as it was, and
it was bad throughout. He was hustling out there, he's
(16:07):
flying around, he was, He's doing his.
Speaker 2 (16:09):
Normal Russell Westbrook stuff and stuff. Yeah, it was great.
Speaker 1 (16:12):
So if you're David Allman, maybe has a bit of
a spark if things start on in a bit of
a lull, maybe you have a quicker hook to get
Russell Westbrook into the game at least that that might
be one one way you can lean great strategy.
Speaker 5 (16:24):
Yeah, or as Dave mentioned earlier, maybe just start the
game with him, put him in there from the beginning.
Speaker 2 (16:31):
You just got to know.
Speaker 5 (16:32):
I mean, let him set set that tempo, let him
set that.
Speaker 3 (16:36):
The only way that I think the only way they'll
do that is if if for some.
Speaker 4 (16:39):
Reason MPG is scratched. Yeah, if he's not playing.
Speaker 5 (16:43):
And why is that?
Speaker 3 (16:44):
They don't want to Well, no, I think I think
they're past that. But I think with the shoulder injury,
you get warmed up in warm ups. You want to
go right, You want to be out there playing. What
you don't want to do is get warmed up, get
lathered up, and go sit down for you know, eight
minutes of game time, which can be twenty minutes of
(17:05):
real time. So but I mean, it would be nice
if MPJ could hit hit a couple of his patented
jumpers too.
Speaker 2 (17:14):
I'll be significant, all right, we'll continue to talk about this.
Speaker 1 (17:16):
On the other side, We'll be joined by Romey Bean
from CBS four Live from ball Arena coming up next
to the KWA Commons Spirit Health Highline, and bring on
a favorite of ours, Roamy being from CBS four at
Roamy Underscore being already tweeting out all sorts of cool
footage videos from Ballerina.
Speaker 2 (17:37):
Roami, thank you so much for the time.
Speaker 6 (17:38):
How are you, hey, guys, I'm honored to be on
with this tril I'm doing good and I'm here.
Speaker 7 (17:43):
Way too early too, so it's something good to do.
Speaker 3 (17:46):
You know what, You'll you'll get to pick wherever you
want to sit, and that's that's the way to We'll
get it in the uh in the media seating. So,
I mean, you've you've covered these games for a long time, Roamie.
What when you think about tonight's game? And I was
thinking back to the Nuggets, you know, two years ago
had that historic run. They go sixteen to four, they
win the Championship, and I had the pleasure of attending
(18:09):
a handful of those games with friends and it was
absolutely unbelievable the atmosphere there. So I'm asking what kind
of atmosphere tonight and where do you think it will
rank with some of those games.
Speaker 4 (18:20):
That you and a lot of us experienced two years ago.
Speaker 7 (18:24):
You know what's so funny day When I think about
two years ago, it was there are certain years you
just know it. You knew the Nuggets had what it takes.
Speaker 1 (18:31):
Me.
Speaker 7 (18:31):
He kind of just knew they were going to win it.
I felt the same about the Ads the year before
in twenty twenty two. This year, I feel like we
all went into it kind of knowing this is going
to be a challenge.
Speaker 6 (18:41):
What version of the Nuggets are we going to get?
Speaker 7 (18:43):
And it's been so tumultuous with obviously the firing of
Michael Malone. Nicol Yokichen referred to it many times, you know,
like ownership got what they wanted out of it. But
I think I thought about, how do you respond? How
will the Nuggets respond to getting absolutely embarrassed? And the
good thing is that history is our their fied. I
was looking at it and you go back to last
year series with the Minnesota Gimberwolves. They got blown up
(19:06):
by twenty six in Game two. They come back, they
win by twenty seven in game three. The Clipper series,
it was like thirty four in Game three. They come
back win three of the next four. So this team
that you know, they've got the medal, the championship medal,
to come back and win, and I think this is
going to be a really buzzing environment today. They really
do see off the crowd of Friday night in Denver.
(19:26):
I think I think it's going to be a buzzing
crowd for sure.
Speaker 5 (19:28):
Hey, Robie rick Lewis, good to talk to you again.
Speaker 6 (19:31):
And by the way, youreck.
Speaker 5 (19:33):
Yeah, we were just talking off the air about how
impressive your rise has been on television. I see you
a lot, so you do a great job. Congratulations on that.
Very cool that you're doing what you're doing. You're at
the stadium right now getting the vibe. And we talked
about this earlier. I want to get your opinion. We
know or pretty much know what you're going to get
(19:54):
from Joker from game to game. Who's the one other
player on this team that you think has to have
have their best game tonight.
Speaker 7 (20:03):
Well, first off, Brook, thanks you so much that it's
really kind and means a lot coming coming from legends
like you, guys, this feels like the obvious one, guys,
And I know you guys say duh. But Jamal Murray has.
Speaker 6 (20:13):
To have a big game.
Speaker 7 (20:14):
And the one thing with Jamal Murray is he does
seem to come come on later in series. He saw
that in the Clippers series, we've seen that kind of historically.
He saw how bigger games as the series goes on.
Speaker 6 (20:26):
And this is a game, it's Game three. Can we
call it a must win?
Speaker 7 (20:29):
Not necessarily, but this Thunder team, if you give them
a little bit of room, you know, you give them
out a cookie, they're going to take a mile.
Speaker 6 (20:36):
And so you really have to step on their throats tonight.
Speaker 7 (20:39):
And you need Jamal Murray to really to have a
Murray flurry to set the tone. You need a big game.
I think the big question comes.
Speaker 6 (20:45):
Around my Colporter Junior.
Speaker 7 (20:47):
We know he's ailing, we know he's been a lot
of pay You know, how.
Speaker 6 (20:50):
Does David Adamson management manage that?
Speaker 7 (20:52):
You know, in two points in twenty four minutes, those
kind of numbers just aren't going to cut it. What
did he do?
Speaker 6 (20:57):
He doesn't have a ton of options.
Speaker 7 (20:59):
We know that, but Russell Westbrook has continued to be
tremendous in the playoffs. You get the good and the
bad with Russ, but he's been really good and I
think more Russ minutes at this point he's earned it
and could really help you out in that situation.
Speaker 2 (21:12):
Yeah, I completely agree.
Speaker 1 (21:13):
We were just sort of talking about Russell Westbrook and
if David Adalman decides to have not start him, maybe
play him a little bit early, especially if things start
to tilt in the favor of the thunder. And again
we won't know really the usage of Michael Porter Junior.
Speaker 2 (21:28):
I think until probably pretty close to tip.
Speaker 1 (21:30):
But I mean, as far as you're concern, is he
a liability at this point or do you still think
because of the way he helps space the floor you
got to keep playing him if.
Speaker 2 (21:40):
He can go.
Speaker 7 (21:42):
You know, I think this is such a catch twenty
two and you kind of nailed it. But I think
with this series it has become so physical to physicality
is is kind of on another level.
Speaker 6 (21:53):
And I think that I'm not sure.
Speaker 7 (21:55):
If anyone, including the Nuggets work said expecting this much
physicality from the Thunder, and at this point, I think
Michael Porter.
Speaker 6 (22:02):
Junior he is doing a best as he can.
Speaker 7 (22:04):
And he really is contributing off ball in some tremendous ways,
but he's not getting those buckets and with that arm,
you can see there are times, you know, can't even
really push off.
Speaker 6 (22:14):
A defender and it's the no fault of his own.
Speaker 7 (22:17):
But I think you have to make that decision.
Speaker 6 (22:19):
David Alloman stressed that game too.
Speaker 7 (22:22):
He said, the thunder punch first, second, and third. You
have to have your whole team being able to play
a really aggressive game, and I think that has to
be a consideration as well that Michael Porter Junior just
physically at this point, I'm.
Speaker 6 (22:34):
Not sure he's able to do that.
Speaker 2 (22:36):
Last one.
Speaker 1 (22:37):
Romie always appreciates the time live from Ball Arena. I
know we oftentimes say things like must win sounds kind
of cliche.
Speaker 2 (22:45):
Tonight, then you got Sunday's game.
Speaker 1 (22:47):
I mean, certainly you'd love to be up three to
one going back to Oklahoma City, But how do you
frame this game and into Sunday's game as it relates
to the series.
Speaker 6 (22:57):
You know, I think, like you said, you obviously want
to take care of home court and win two.
Speaker 7 (23:00):
But even splitting, I feel fine with the nugget splitting,
But if you slip, this feels like this is the
one that you have to win because of the momentum
that Oklahoma City gained in Game two, and you just
don't want to let that keep going.
Speaker 6 (23:12):
You don't want them.
Speaker 7 (23:13):
To really start, you know, feeling their oats, and I
think that you need it.
Speaker 6 (23:17):
Doesn't even if it's a close game, it doesn't matter.
Speaker 7 (23:19):
But letting them run away with the second game in
a row, I think would be pretty devastating. For how
good this Thunder team has been for I mean, there's
a reason why they are. They've won so many games
in the regular season. They had very few close games too,
So even if it's a close win for the Nuggets,
it feels.
Speaker 6 (23:36):
Like, if I had to pick of the two, this
is the one that you that you.
Speaker 7 (23:38):
Got to win tonight. Keep that doubt in their mind
that this is going to be a long series.
Speaker 2 (23:43):
Roman, you're the absolute best.
Speaker 1 (23:45):
Really appreciate you giving us a few minutes from ball
Arena and we will chat with you soon.
Speaker 6 (23:48):
Thank you, Thank you guys so much.
Speaker 2 (23:51):
A week all right, Roby Bean at Rome underscore being
from CBS. What do you think about that, Dave?
Speaker 1 (23:56):
As far as framing this in the two games coming
up here, I think she makes a great point. If
we win tonight and you at least swing back some momentum,
but if you lose tonight, then the desperation level for
Game four is unbelievable.
Speaker 4 (24:09):
Yeah, I said that.
Speaker 3 (24:11):
I think in the first hour, I think Tonight's game,
I think the winner of Tonight's game is going to
win the series. If you win Tonight's game again, you
put all the pressure in Oak City or Game four.
I mean they have to have that. And if oak
City wins tonight, you put all the pressure on the
(24:33):
Nuggets in Game four because the Nuggets then have to
have it. Neither of these two teams wants to go
down thirty one. So to me, Tonight's game, you can
find a way to win it, and the Nuggets are
a six point underdog again, I think then, just from
a psychological standpoint, the pressure is on Oklahoma City. They
(24:58):
I mean, they have to find a way to win
Game four. Neither one of these teams want to go
down three to one, right, So tonight is cit and
I agree with Romey.
Speaker 1 (25:11):
Yeah, it's a big deal, I mean, And then I
think there's the framing of it there specifically Rick. I
mean is because if you have that doubt, And I
loved your point that we were talking a little bit earlier.
Speaker 2 (25:22):
About the mindset and just the mentality of it.
Speaker 4 (25:26):
What about the furries, Well, David love that one.
Speaker 1 (25:29):
Too, But that was really funny and now we have
a forever drop for Rick every time he joins the show.
But I'm excited about that part. But I think that
mentality part plays such a huge factor. And David brought
this up last week or I guess I'm sorry on
Wednesday when he was talking about keeping the game in
the fourth quarter, like keeping it within reaching distance there
(25:52):
because the Nuggets have been here at the ok Homa
City Thunder have not a blowout.
Speaker 5 (25:57):
Loss like that. It can really go both ways, where
maybe it shakes the Nuggets confidence a bit, you're only human.
And how about the other way where the Thunder maybe
let's up a little bit tonight they just blew them
up by forty plus points. Maybe they won't get the
same effort here tonight too. Once again, as great as
(26:18):
they are, they're only human. So I think that can
go either way. Only human reference there, I like that. Yeah,
there's there's quite a few only human songs that Grant
could do with the Human League, right, Human League, Human League.
It's good good, Yeah, thank you, you're good in music. Well,
I do have a show Dave on the Morning and
The Fox. I'm still on it. I've heard really I
(26:40):
want to throw the Fox. I used to love that show. Yeah,
used to.
Speaker 3 (26:44):
I mean it was a big I meant it was
big back. I still love it. Is Kathy doing good? Yes,
he's doing good. I miss Kathy. I mean I see you.
I see you on a regular miss I missed seeing her, right, Yeah,
she's great, she's doing great.
Speaker 5 (27:02):
But yeah, you should maybe get up a little earlier
and tune in. Oh, I'm up plenty of time. We'll
want you to tune in what you call the show? How
about we get you on Monday? Like six fifteen? Is
sure you don't think I'm up? I'm gonna say no,
Will you be wrong?
Speaker 4 (27:18):
Really? Yeah?
Speaker 3 (27:19):
He's texted me at six fifteen. Yeah, and then I apologize.
I realized I quit minute. What am I doing here?
Speaker 5 (27:26):
All right? Texting him six I'm not surprised, so.
Speaker 2 (27:29):
Dave's always thinking about the show. He's six fifteen.
Speaker 3 (27:31):
Instantly he's like, hey, I'm constantly thinking about this show.
Speaker 5 (27:35):
You're total pro, David. I do well think.
Speaker 2 (27:42):
Again. I kind of accilely back and forth here, Dave.
I think felt the same.
Speaker 1 (27:45):
Way on Wednesday, although at the end I ended up
taking the thunder and show me the money. But I
like this text that came in right before we were
coming back, says Jents. Doug Most stated on several occasions
he never wanted to play a game against a team
that got blown out the game before you had to
play them, and he was right a lot of the time.
Speaker 5 (28:07):
I think that's probably true with pretty much every sport.
We see that in football all the time. Right when
a football team gets blown out, you don't want to
play him the next week. Even bad teams in the
NFL typically will bounce back after a blowout. I think
that's legit. I think what I'm gonna do is go,
(28:27):
I'm gonna take nuggets in the money line is plus
two hundred. You know, if they're gonna win, it's gonna
win tonight based on the blowout the last game. That's
where I'm going on. I'm gonna go money line.
Speaker 3 (28:37):
The catholict the Pacers eleven nothing so based on that,
based on Doug's sentiment, then you don't want to play
the Pacers next game.
Speaker 5 (28:47):
Right.
Speaker 1 (28:49):
The Minnesota got off to a nice lead that it
is nothing right against your warriors.
Speaker 3 (28:55):
Yeah, well they were my Warriors when Steph was healthy.
Speaker 1 (28:58):
Here we go.
Speaker 4 (29:00):
Oh okay, let me ask you a question.
Speaker 3 (29:04):
If s Ga goes down tonight with a sprained ankle
and misses the rest of the series, are you as
confident that Oak City wins?
Speaker 2 (29:12):
Not as confident?
Speaker 1 (29:13):
No, thank you, but but I would I never said
they were my thunder you you said your your You.
Speaker 3 (29:19):
Haven't you haven't come out and said that. Just what
you've said and everybody's heard what you say leads us
all to come to the conclusion that you're an Oak
City guy. It's okay you want Oak City and I
mean Minnesota. Oak City with Oak City and Minnesota. Right now,
if that was the matchup in the Western Conference Finals, I'm.
Speaker 2 (29:42):
Going to pick Oklahoma City in that case. But I
think Minnesota make it against Minnesota.
Speaker 3 (29:49):
I think that Tea Wolves will make that a good
serious I thought you were a Tea Wolves guy.
Speaker 4 (29:53):
So you're you listen, You listen both of them.
Speaker 1 (29:58):
If it's everybody that I'm a fan out of these teams,
I just said they're good teams.
Speaker 5 (30:02):
There's a difference.
Speaker 3 (30:03):
He's scared, scared of Minnesota, scared s C.
Speaker 4 (30:07):
A R T.
Speaker 3 (30:08):
And you know he's he thinks Oak City by far
as the best team.
Speaker 5 (30:13):
In the league.
Speaker 4 (30:14):
And I mean, you know
