Good afternoon, Ian, Thank you so much for the time.

Speaker 2 (00:12):
Man.

Speaker 3 (00:12):
How are you? I have no problem? What's going on here?

Speaker 1 (00:15):
Are you know?

Speaker 3 (00:15):
I'm going to train hope you guys can hear me. Okay, yeah,
we know.

Speaker 2 (00:17):
We've got you. Just find Ian appreciate the time. So,
the last time we talked to you, the Broncos had
not yet confirmed the signing of JK. Dobbins, although you said, hey,
things things are not completely dead right.

Speaker 3 (00:29):
Had to give you a little heads up.

Speaker 2 (00:30):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (00:31):
Yeah, it's tried to kind of mention it without ruining it.

Speaker 2 (00:33):
Yeah, no, absolutely, So what we're I mean just sort
of like from a from a thirty thousand foot view,
What were some of your thoughts about that signing.

Speaker 3 (00:41):
Yeah, I mean I really like the signing and to me,
like he was really one of the more undervalued players
in the NFL that was available at the time. The
actual you know, prices is not a lot. I mean
it's under three million dollars. There's a little more than
five million dollars available and incentive is total, Like, that's
the total package for a player who is that productive.

(01:03):
That's that's significant, and that's to me, that's a really
good value in me, someone who could be you know
for sure they're starting running back if not like a
really really good you know one B to a good
one A has been really productive in his career when
he's been on the field, and if he's you know,
if he's not on the field, if he's you know,

(01:24):
deals with some of the injury stuff they dealt with
earlier in his career, then he didn't pay a lot
for him. And I think you're gonna be okay, and
you have depth anyway. So these are the kinds of
signings that I really really like. Even if it doesn't
work out as you would hope, it doesn't really cost
very much to do it.

Speaker 2 (01:40):
No, you're you're exactly right. And I've been asked a
couple of times just here in town, and I want
to ask you and it it requires conjecture in your part,
but I don't have a good answer for this. So
the Chargers with Jim Harbaugh, our a team that loves
to run the ball, Dobbins was a pretty productive back
rush for over nine highs last year, miss four games

(02:02):
with an injury. Then they allow him to walk. They
draft Omarion Hampton, which I get, but they signed Najie Harris.
So the question is why would Jim Harball let JK
Dobbins walk out the door after he was as productive
as he was last year for the Chargers.

Speaker 3 (02:21):
Yeah, good question. So my understanding of that situation is,
you know, the Chargers wanted JK. Dobbins when the season ended.
That was the guy they believed they would sign. He's
coming off really good year where he was talked about
its being like a comeback Player of the Year and
all that. They made him make contract offer the early
Cree agency. He didn't want it, thought it was way low.

(02:42):
So they took that offer and they made it to
Najie Harris and he negotiated into it, okay, and that
was the end of JJ Dobbins. And so, like, you know,
I think the Chargers want him. They made him an
offer you know, might have been more. I think it
was more that he's gonna end up making now because
you know, gets now not money available, But that was
my first choice. Just things move quickly and free agency

(03:05):
and Najie Harris grabbed the money and dobbinson't makes sense?
Makes sense.

Speaker 1 (03:09):
Last one we have for you, Ian really appreciate the time.
I want to ask you just about Michael Parsons and
some of his comments that he made down there in Dallas.
It seems to me like he's trying to send a
very clear message that he is not gonna be playing
this year on the current deal.

Speaker 3 (03:23):
Yeah, I mean, I don't think he'll be playing this
year on the current Dealayer. Now, you know, if they
don't come to terms on an extension, like, what's he
gonna do? You know, I don't know, because there's not
a lot of holdouts. You know, there's not a lot
of not a lot of recourse for a player that
wants to just withhold services, you know, if he doesn't
get a deal, So we'll, you know, we'll cross that
bridge when we come to it. Could have a you know,

(03:45):
hamstring injury for the whole season. We'll see. But to me,
I mean, this is a deal that should get done.
I believe it will get done. I believe he'll be
the highest paid non quarterback when it all gets said
and done. But yeah, I mean he was, you know,
pretty frank and honest about saying how much the cowboys
have cost themselves by not doing it immediately. And I
think that's right. I just don't know that they teach

(04:06):
you a deal right now that would make sense for everyone,
because you know, you'd like Aden Hudginson to go, You're
like t J. Watt to go, Trey Hendrickson, I mean,
you'd like to fill out the market before Mica comes
in and probably tops it all. So I think that
probably explained some of the way, no doubt. I appreciate it. Man.
Thank you, all right, Thank you guys. Thanks to all
right then.
