Speaker 1 (00:00):
Dave Logan, Ryan Edwards, Dave, my friend.
Speaker 2 (00:02):
Good to see you, ran, good to see you. Good
to see I was just telling you about my dream
last night.
Speaker 3 (00:06):
Are you a big dreamer? Yeah?
Speaker 4 (00:10):
I think I dream nightly, but many many times I
cannot remember like what I dream like in the morning.
I'll say, sure, man, I've had some strange dreams. But
then you try to not every time, but you try
to remember them, it's like you can't.
Speaker 3 (00:26):
What does that mean?
Speaker 2 (00:27):
You know, there's probably a thing, like there's a book
or somebody to talk to you about that.
Speaker 3 (00:31):
I don't know. I I what do you think? Are
you encouraging me to get professional help? What is that?
Speaker 2 (00:36):
What do you mean somebody to tell you does not
like me encouraging you to get an enema or anything.
It's just, uh, well that's professional help.
Speaker 3 (00:42):
I mean, so I.
Speaker 2 (00:44):
Had And I was telling you because I had a
dream last night about the Broncos season, about Broncos game day,
and for whatever reason, I was showing up right before
kickoff as though I missed countdown to kickoff, which of
course I failed to be part of again this year,
and I had forgotten to record my pregame interview. I
forgot to pull soud like, for whatever reason, I showed
(01:07):
up completely unprepared.
Speaker 4 (01:08):
So let me ask a question, and maybe maybe maybe
we can ask this for our audience, for those that
genuinely might know.
Speaker 3 (01:17):
Does that does that have significance? Does that? What does
that mean?
Speaker 2 (01:21):
Well, I'm sure it does because it reminds me of
that I was telling this right before. Is it reminds
me of dreams I have where I'm back in high
school and there's a test or a book report due
that is suddenly the end of the year, and I'm
showing up to Like I was like, I'm showed up
to class all year and.
Speaker 1 (01:37):
I'm going to try to bake my way through this test.
Speaker 3 (01:40):
So did you have a test coming up? In actuality?
Speaker 4 (01:44):
No?
Speaker 5 (01:44):
Dream?
Speaker 2 (01:45):
This is like now like I do this this this
is this is a reoccurring dream for me all the time.
Speaker 3 (01:49):
So I wonder what that means.
Speaker 2 (01:52):
Yeah, in my forties, right now, I have this reoccurring
I'm in high school and there's a book report due that.
Speaker 3 (01:58):
I haven't even worked on. So you have a reoccur
It's the same dream all the time.
Speaker 1 (02:03):
Either a test or a book report.
Speaker 2 (02:05):
But there's this thing and again I'm sure that people
we could diagnose me whatever. But this is the first
time that has happened for Broncos game day where I
start but then but then so then the game starts
and it's like a really good game.
Speaker 3 (02:17):
Like I'm like, all.
Speaker 2 (02:18):
Right, everything's okay, we got into the game.
Speaker 1 (02:21):
I forgot some stuff. Nobody's firing me from the game.
We're off and rolling.
Speaker 3 (02:26):
Wow, I know it was weird. I don't know, but
it was.
Speaker 5 (02:28):
Uh.
Speaker 4 (02:29):
I can't I can't be of assistance I know in
that one because I don't know what that means.
Speaker 2 (02:33):
I don't know what it means either, But very excited
to be here with you. And yeah, we have all
sorts stuff talk about over the next hour. Ian Rapport's
going to join us. At three point thirty College World
Series moments ago. Do you see that Arkansas did not
no hitter?
Speaker 3 (02:46):
Was it? Well, let me get this the no.
Speaker 2 (02:49):
Hitter, nineteen strikeouts to throw the first no hitter, And
I want to say.
Speaker 3 (02:56):
Against the Rockies.
Speaker 4 (02:59):
Actually are on a one game winning streak. I'm going
to bring it up. They're on a one game heater.
Speaker 1 (03:05):
They're absolutely rolling on.
Speaker 2 (03:06):
Dave, shut the hell up, Gauge would nineteen strikeout, no hitter.
Speaker 1 (03:11):
In fact, they would have been perfect game with not
for an error.
Speaker 3 (03:13):
Wow.
Speaker 2 (03:13):
And they thrown against Murray State and three nothing win
in the College World Series. Way to go Gauge, Way
to go Gauge. Pretty cool stuff. Yeah, I do love
this time of year. I do love watching the College
Rule Series.
Speaker 4 (03:27):
I mean, I'm not a huge like during the season,
the regular season, you're not going to find me sitting
down and watching you know, an SEC Baseball game between
Tennessee and whomever. But the College Rule Series, and not
even the play in Omaha, but the regionals leading up
to that. I watch as many of those games as
they possibly can.
Speaker 3 (03:47):
It's a lot of fun.
Speaker 2 (03:48):
Yeah, and especially the time of year, you know, middle
of the day, like summer day, watching College World Series.
Speaker 3 (03:52):
I'm a fan as well.
Speaker 2 (03:54):
Quickly, one more little note before we move on and
talk about the NBA game tonight as well as the Broncos.
How about JJ spond he's the sixty four and a
half foot putt.
Speaker 3 (04:03):
How about seventeen and eighteen? Bertie seventeen and eighteen rough
start to the day. Didn't even need to Bertie eighteen, right, No.
Speaker 2 (04:12):
I think he two putts and he's two putts he wins,
but from sixty four and a half feet I mean,
as a guy this golf like yourself.
Speaker 4 (04:19):
Yeah, he's knocked in a few of those in my day,
but not with the pressure of the US Open, and
not with one shot.
Speaker 3 (04:28):
You know, Uh, that's a free putt for me.
Speaker 2 (04:33):
I mean almost every single day you're like, he's.
Speaker 3 (04:38):
He's been kind of I mean by tour standards.
Speaker 4 (04:40):
I mean, all all the golfers that are on on
on the tour are great players, right, but by tour standards,
he's sort of been a middle of the pack guy.
And then all of a sudden, right has just h
I mean, has a great finish. Got unlucky because one
of is one of his shots hit the stick and
(05:02):
then rolled about sober.
Speaker 3 (05:06):
Was so brutal, but d of course is playing hard. Yeah,
I mean it was I don't know what.
Speaker 4 (05:12):
Yes, I was surprised it was as fast as it
was with as much moisture as they had in PA.
Speaker 3 (05:19):
But yeah, fun, fun to watch, fun to watch.
Speaker 2 (05:22):
We have a game five the NBA Finals tonight, big
trade over the weekend. We get the Desmond Bane trade
in a second, but the the cover from Oklahoma City
on Friday night. Epic was unbelievable for somebody that had
minus six and a half, I was pretty happy about that.
Speaker 3 (05:41):
Did you wind up winning? I did? I had no
here once again to patch yourself in the back. Yeah.
Speaker 4 (05:50):
No, that was uh well for somebody who's picked Oak
City in the series, uh to to win, just to
win outright that game and then of course to eventually
cover it. I mean, I think Oak City wins tonight,
but I have such respect for Indiana the way they've
(06:11):
played and how they're coached, and it wouldn't surprise me
a lick if that thing is close tonight. I do
think Oak City wins tonight. I don't know if they
win by nine and is it still nine.
Speaker 3 (06:23):
And a half till nine and a half? Yeah, I
don't know about that. It's a lot. That's a lot.
I mean, I mean, this is the first.
Speaker 4 (06:29):
Time in ten, let's see ten or eleven years in
the NBA Finals that three of the first four games
have been decided by single digit Now you've got to
go back to I think it was twenty fifteen, and
I think it was the Warriors and the Caves that
had that. So it's been a really competitive series, and
(06:52):
even when teams have been able to get a lead.
I mean Oak City in the first game had a
fifteen point lead quarter fourth quarter at home and lost.
Indiana was up seven going into the fourth quarter in
Game four and had they won that, they'd had a
three to one lead in the series and get outscored
(07:13):
thirty one seventeen in the fourth quarter. So there has
been such drastic ebb and flow in this series. But
it's been I mean, if you like really competitive basketball,
hard nosed defense. Both teams playing exceptionally hard, even though
two mid market teams, and I know the numbers haven't
been great TV wise, but I've enjoyed every single minute
(07:35):
of it.
Speaker 3 (07:35):
I really have two So what is it because their
mid market?
Speaker 2 (07:38):
Do you think that the ratings haven't been and maybe
the star power That's the only thing I'm trying to
think of. I'm like, well, look, you have the MVP
playing in this thing. Yeah, you got a really fun,
scrappy Pacers team. But both these teams win with depth.
Is not historically what we're used to with the NBA.
We've talked about this a lot. Is you're used to
the Big Three, You're used to a lot of star
power in the finals. You're used to big markets too,
(08:01):
so I guess if we check all of those boxes,
maybe that's the reason why.
Speaker 3 (08:05):
But this has been very good basketball.
Speaker 4 (08:06):
I think this the series probably does not attract the
casual NBA fan because if you're if you're a casual fan,
if you enjoy it every now and then you're going
to be drawn to the big name NBA stars. I mean,
if Lebron is in this, if if other big name,
if Giannis is in this, if Joki to a to
(08:29):
a certain degree is in it, and you're a casual fan,
then you're probably gonna sit and watch some of it.
But all due respect to Indiana, they don't have one player,
including Haliburton, that I think would be considered that kind
of draw.
Speaker 3 (08:43):
I think they.
Speaker 4 (08:44):
I mean, Halliburton is a really good player, and they've
got a handful of really good players, and except for SGA,
and SGA sort of bounced on the scene the last
couple of years, he's still a young superstar even though
he won the MVP. Other than that, you've got a
whole bunch of good young players. But again, for casual
basketball fans, don't they don't know who these guys are
(09:07):
and there and they're missing a really high level entertaining series.
Speaker 1 (09:12):
They absolutely are. It's it's been a blast to watch.
Speaker 2 (09:15):
And even that game a couple of nights ago on
Friday Night, I that for most of it, I thought
the Pacers were going to probably try it too handle it,
and and then and then Shade just kind of did
his thing there in the fourth quarter.
Speaker 4 (09:26):
Yes, that's the difference between one of the biggest differences
for me between the two teams. They've Sga has the
ability to play ISO basketball and even against a good
defensive team, he's going to get to his spots and
he can he can score. Indiana's ability to score I
(09:49):
think is much better, uh when they are in transition.
So I thought they got bogged down late in that
fourth quarter when things start started to tighten up. You know,
I thought there were two or three series where I'm
saying to myself, nobody wants to shoot it. I've seen
(10:11):
Oklahoma City do something similar. If it's not Sga shooting
late in the game, where it's like, okay, the extra
you're making the extra pass. And that's great most of
the time, but at times that means you really don't
want to shoot it. And Richard Jefferson made a point
(10:31):
on one of the Indiana It was on oh Obie Toppin, Yeah,
And I thought it was such a good point in
the telecast, Obi Toppin like, and it was.
Speaker 3 (10:43):
It was.
Speaker 4 (10:44):
I think it was in that fourth quarter where the
ball kicks to him, He's got an open look from three,
he hesitated, kicked it back to the top to Halliburton,
and Halliburton got forced into, like, you know, a thirty
five foot prayer as the shot clock went off. And
so part of that is, yeah, I mean team that
likes to pass, you get used to pass it. Hey,
(11:05):
you make the extra pass. A good shot gets you
a better shut. Not always, and I think that that
was the case for Indiana down the stretch trying to
find like who because they really don't play ISO basketball.
They play pass it cut a lot of motion. They're
really good in transition. But when the game slowed down
(11:26):
the last five minutes, and that's where Oklahoma City dominated,
you know, Indiana had some guys that did not feel
comfortable shooting the ball.
Speaker 2 (11:35):
But that's one of those conversations we get into when
you're talking about teams built around depth more so than
built around star power. And that's one of the drawbacks
when it was all working. When the death is working,
Obi Toppin, who I think was the hero of Game
three or one of the heroes of Game three, just
just went off. I mean he remember he was putting
the offensive rebounds, the put back, and you're just like,
(11:56):
this guy's coming off the pinch for crying out.
Speaker 1 (11:58):
Thesters have a guy coming.
Speaker 3 (12:00):
Off the bitch.
Speaker 4 (12:00):
But it's not It's different than what like late in
the game with the Nuggets, you know what, they're going
to run some form of the two man high screen
role with Murray and Jokic, and more times than not
they get a.
Speaker 3 (12:17):
Good shot from it.
Speaker 4 (12:18):
Right Oak City late in the game when they have
to have a score, you're gonna get Sga on an
ISO on the wing and you're gonna more times than
not get a good shot from it. Indiana doesn't have.
Indiana's offense is a what I call free flow offense.
(12:39):
I mean, you could say Halliburton is a really good shooter.
He is, but he's not a guy. He's not an
ISO player. He's not a guy that more times than
not he's gonna beat you off the dribble, although he
had a couple of drives to the basket in the
fourth quarter that extended the Pacers lead. But I think
it's something to look for tonight. If the game is
close down the stretch, what what do you see offensively
(13:02):
from Indiana? Who is the guy that takes those shots?
Speaker 2 (13:07):
I'm looking forward to it, very fun game tonight. Quickly
here on the Desmond Bain trade. We actually had two
pretty monster trades over the weekend. You had the Desmond
Baine trade from Memphis to Orlando, I mean the details
of that, but then Raphael Devers with Boston. That was
a massive trade too. For baseball, that would be I
don't know. I was trying to find the equivalent of
what that'd be an NFL would be like a star
(13:29):
wide receiver some like like Ceed Lamb or something like
that being traded. That's kind of the equivalent of what
Raphael Devers, he's a cornerstone player for Boston being traded
out to San Francisco in division of course, But very
quickly on the Desmond Bain deal, because that one maybe
giving us a little bit of a blueprint. Would you
do it your MPJ is going to get traded, and
what are we going to be able to get for him?
Speaker 3 (13:51):
And whatever?
Speaker 2 (13:51):
Be able to trade Desmond Bang to the Orlando Magic
for KCP, Cole Anthony and four first round picks in
a pick swap.
Speaker 3 (14:00):
Is not moving like it's just oh.
Speaker 4 (14:03):
I don't think there's any correlation between the two. Desmond
Bine is I mean holds Desmond Bane not very old.
Speaker 3 (14:13):
No, he's not very old. And he's a guy that
averaged right at twenty. I mean he is.
Speaker 4 (14:19):
He is a knockdown three point shooter, he'll play defense,
He's a good, good all round player. I don't think
he was even a first round pick. In fact, I'm
pretty sure it was a second round pick, taking back
in the day. But those four first round picks, I mean,
it shows you how far KCP has fallen because he's
involved in that deal simply to move the contract to
(14:41):
make the money work.
Speaker 3 (14:42):
I man CACP went.
Speaker 4 (14:45):
You know, he made much more money, but he went
from being a vital part of a World championship team
to kind of an afterthought this year in Orlando that
obviously didn't work, and now gets moved to Memphis simply
to try to make the numbers work.
Speaker 3 (15:03):
The four first round picks, I mean, to me.
Speaker 4 (15:07):
Signify that Memphis feels like they're going to be picking
so low, you know, during this next four year period,
and uh, I think they're probably right. I mean, I
love I love the deal for Orlando, Orlando. I love
the deal for Orlando. Yeah, I was I was curious
which side of that you be on me at the
(15:29):
end of.
Speaker 3 (15:29):
The Yeah, I'm a big Desmond Bayin fan. I mean,
are you?
Speaker 4 (15:32):
I would have loved to have seen Desmond Bain come here.
I have no idea if the Nuggets would have any
interest at all, and he'd be similar, he'd be similar
to Murray. You'd have to figure out kind of what
that looked like. He's six', five but he will play.
Defense he's he's he's not really a guy that's going
to handle a, lot but he can handle.
Speaker 3 (15:50):
It but he can shoot the. Ball he's a, good good.
Speaker 2 (15:54):
Shooter he was actually selected thirtieth in the twenty twenty,
draft so he was a first round late late just the. Cut,
YEAH i thought it had been, fascinating but it made
me think immediately ABOUT. Mpj and of course The nuggets
don't even have A gm, yet so we'll see what
they end up doing there or nine days.
Speaker 1 (16:08):
Away but we are nine days away from THE Nba, Draft.
Speaker 3 (16:12):
So you think they'll have THE gm before the.
Speaker 2 (16:14):
DRAFT i, mean i'd like to think, so ALTHOUGH i
keep and you push back on this every. Time not
only DO i think they're eventually going to give the
job To Ben.
Speaker 3 (16:23):
TENZER i haven't pushed back on, that, no But i've been.
Speaker 2 (16:26):
Saying THAT i Think Josh kronkie is going to be
in sort of A Joe Sackic president Of Basketball operations
role where he's going to be kind of overseeing.
Speaker 4 (16:35):
Them when HAVE i ever pushed, back because that's how
you you labeled that.
Speaker 3 (16:43):
POINT i feel like push back on.
Speaker 2 (16:44):
This, Okay well maybe it's just A i'm used to push,
Back so MAYBE i just assumed there's a moment WHEN
i SAID i Think Josh cronki is going to oversee
this whole.
Speaker 3 (16:53):
Thing.
Speaker 4 (16:53):
OH i, Mean i've said Clearly Josh CRONKY i think
has an advantage over MOST nba owners in THAT i
think he understands basketball much much better than a lot
OF nba owners.
Speaker 3 (17:05):
Because he played.
Speaker 4 (17:06):
Basketball he's growing up with, Basketball SO i think he
has an IDEA i, THINK i, MEAN i think it
looks like THE gm is going to come from within the,
Organization so no pushback. THERE i still THINK mpj will be.
Moved pushback, there got. It think that's the only, pushback.
Speaker 3 (17:25):
And that is on, me that was assumed.
Speaker 2 (17:31):
Pushback so you agree with me that That Josh cronki
might put himself into a position like that where he
can see something like.
Speaker 3 (17:37):
That, YEAH i can see that.
Speaker 4 (17:38):
Happening, ESPECIALLY i think he's probably doing it as we. Speak,
yeah you, KNOW i MEAN i, THINK i Think josh
AND i think this is. Okay you have to have
a certain amount of. THIS i Think josh Trusts. Josh
so when it comes, to well they have A gm
name prior to the, DRAFT i don't have any, idea
(17:58):
BUT i think right now would look like it's the
in house. Candidate and if they, DON'T i Think josh
Trusts josh in terms of listening to his scouts and
they're making some sort of decision in terms of what
The nuggets do or don't do in the draft.
Speaker 1 (18:11):
Based on the fact that you haven't made a significant higher,
there then, YES i think that that all kind of lines.
Up So i'm not worried about it.
Speaker 2 (18:17):
PERSONALLY i think some other people might, be because you
feel like you'd want some kind of puff of white
smoke at some. Point who OUR gm is going to,
be especially now that we're in kind of a trade.
Window you're seeing The Desmond vane deal get. Done Kevin
durant any day now will get. Traded we're in trade.
Speaker 3 (18:33):
Season you know Where Kevin DURANT i think is going to?
Go you, Say Miami.
Speaker 2 (18:37):
Heat, nope, ooh it will not Be. Minnesota you, sure
here we go DAY i hope you're. RIGHT i don't
want to see him In. MINNESOTA i.
Speaker 1 (18:49):
Think, Well shan's today said that that.
Speaker 2 (18:51):
Team is not like it's one of the teams That
phoenix is dealing, with but it's not a preferred destination of.
His so there's three teams that they're dealing.
Speaker 3 (18:59):
With he wants to.
Speaker 4 (19:00):
Go he wouldn't want to go To, minnesota like in
the middle of the. Winner, WELL i guess. Not does
he realize they play? Inside maybe he.
Speaker 1 (19:08):
Doesn't realize that we send them a text when you
get a.
Speaker 3 (19:10):
Chance, yeah, YEAH i mean.
Speaker 4 (19:11):
Good i'm glad he doesn't want to go To minnesota
BECAUSE I i don't want to see him With Anthony
edwards And. Magan now you'd have to give up quite
a bit to getting but still that's that's two pretty good.
Speaker 3 (19:23):
Players, yeah that would be.
Speaker 2 (19:24):
TOUGH i Think Miami houston makes a lot of sense,
too Or San. Antonio but apparently San antonio doesn't Have
they're not able to Offer phoenix what they. Want and
again we're reading through the multiple, Reports shams and everybody
else out there who all has an opinion and all
has sourcing on. This their sourcing has said that there
are three teams That phoenix is willing to work with
(19:45):
And San antonio is not one of.
Speaker 4 (19:47):
Them what Did Chuck? Barkley what Did Charles barkley say
about San? ANTONIO i don't know the women At San. Antonio,
OH i can't.
Speaker 2 (19:55):
REMEMBER i THINK i know WHAT i know you're, referencing you,
know we'll look at. Them we'll see we can find
that or the. Break but, yeah so so my bet
would be Either miami Or, houston which is not really
saying a lot because those are two of the three,
teams but that would be.
Speaker 1 (20:12):
Nice so if it's, one if It's miami Or, houston who.
Speaker 3 (20:15):
Would be your then i'd, like say him In. Miami,
yeah right in The, EAST i.
Speaker 1 (20:21):
THINK i, mean if you were a and he's not so,
young but if you were a.
Speaker 2 (20:25):
Young still performing at a high level athlete and you
had the choice Of houston Or.
Speaker 3 (20:31):
Miami are we talking?
Speaker 2 (20:32):
Nightlife i'm just talking about, living like just living as
a as a professional.
Speaker 3 (20:37):
Athlete where would you want to? Go miami And, Houston
cleveland Or. Miami? WELL i played In cleveland for a long. Time.
Huh so are you saying WOULD i rather live In.
Speaker 4 (20:47):
Miami there's plenty of things In miami THAT i would
THINK i would not.
Speaker 3 (20:52):
Like like What?
Speaker 4 (20:54):
Hurricanes, Yeah, Gators, Yeah i'm not big on.
Speaker 3 (20:59):
Gators. Right?
Speaker 4 (21:01):
Uh have you ever been In miami in the. Summer
i've never been To miami at. All is you've never
been to.
Speaker 2 (21:07):
Miamimpa i've been to several parts Of florida.
Speaker 3 (21:11):
Brutal i've never been To. Miami it is.
Speaker 2 (21:13):
Brutally everybody tells me it is like amazing as far
as the nightlife and everything. Else so you're kind of
A South beach k. Apparently, yeah not. Me i'm just
telling you what On South. Beach But i'm in my
forties And i've never been a professional. Athlete i'm saying
everybody else that's a professional athlete seems to like.
Speaker 3 (21:31):
No idea of.
Speaker 4 (21:32):
MINE i think if you if your choices as a professional,
athlete your choices were to live In, miami live In,
cleveland or live In, HOUSTON i would Take miami to
that mean they have air?
Speaker 2 (21:44):
Conditioning, yes all, right we're off early here On. Monday
when we come, Back Ian rapaport will catch up on
the laves in THE. Nfl don't go, Away bring On Ian,
rappaport OUR nfl network inside or powered By. Chevron, chevron

thank you so much for the.
Speaker 4 (22:05):

Speaker 1 (22:05):

Speaker 5 (22:06):

Train and hope you guys can hear?
Speaker 3 (22:09):
Me, okay, yeah we know we've got. You just Find
ian appreciate the.
Speaker 4 (22:12):
Time so the last time we talked to, you The
broncos had not yet confirmed the signing OF.
Speaker 3 (22:17):
Jk.
Speaker 4 (22:18):
Dobbins although you, said, hey things things are not completely dead.
Speaker 5 (22:22):
Right had to give you a little heads. Up, yeah,
YEAH i tried to kind of mention it without ruining. It, yeah, no.
Speaker 4 (22:26):
Absolutely so what WERE i, mean just sort of like
from a from a thirty thousand foot, view what were
some of your thoughts about that.
Speaker 5 (22:32):
Signing, YEAH i MEAN i really like the signing and to,
me like he was really one of the more undervalued
players in THE nfl that was available at the. Time
the actual you, know prices is not a. LOT i
mean it's under three million. Dollars there's a little more
than five million dollars, available and incentive is, Total, like
that's a total packaging for a player who is that.
(22:55):
Productive that's that's. Significant that's to, me that's a really
good value and someone who could be you, know for
sure they're starting running back if not like a really
really good you know ONE b to a good. ONE
a has been really productive in his career when he's
been on the, field and if he's you, know if
he's not on the, field if he's you, know deals
(23:17):
with some of the injury stuff they dealt with earlier
in his, career then he didn't pay a lot for.
Him AND i think you're gonna be, okay and you
have depth, Anyway so these are the kinds of signings
THAT i really really. Like even if it doesn't work
out as you would, hope it doesn't really cost very
much to do.
Speaker 3 (23:32):
It, no You're you're exactly.
Speaker 4 (23:33):
Right And i've been asked a couple of times just
here in, town AND i want to ask you and
it it requires conjecture in your. Part BUT i don't
have a good answer for. This so The, chargers With
Jim harbaugh or a team that loves to run the.
Ball dobbins was a pretty productive back rush for over
nine hundred yards last, year miss four games with an.
Speaker 3 (23:55):
Injury then they allow him to.
Speaker 4 (23:57):
Walk they Draft omari And, hampton WHICH i, get but
they Signed Naji. Harris so the question, is why Would
Jim harball LET Jk dobbins walk out the door after
he was as productive as he was last year for The.
Speaker 3 (24:13):
Chargers, yeah good.
Speaker 5 (24:15):
Question so my understanding of that situation, is you, know
The chargers WANTED. Jk dobbins when the season. Ended that
was the guy they believed they would. Sign he's coming
off really good year where he was talked about as
being like a comeback player in the year and all.
That they made him make contract offer the early free.
Agency he didn't want, it thought it was way. Low
so they took that offer and they made it From Najie,
(24:37):
harris and he negotiated into, it, okay and that was
the end OF Jj. Dobbins and, so, like you, KNOW
i think The chargers want. Him they made him an,
offer you, know might have been. MORE i think it
was more than he's gonna end up making now because you,
know gets now not a lot of money, available but
that was the first. Choice just things moved quickly in
free agency And Najie harris grabbed the money and makes,
(25:01):
sense makes.
Speaker 2 (25:01):
Sense last one we have for, You ian really appreciate the.
TIME i want to ask you just About Michael parsons
and some of his comments that he made down there In.
Dallas it seems to me like he's trying to send
a very clear message that he is not gonna be
playing this year on the current.
Speaker 5 (25:15):
Deal, YEAH i, MEAN i don't think he'll be playing
this year on the current. Dealer then, now you, know
if they don't come to terms on an, extension like
what's he gonna? Do you, KNOW i don't, know because
there's not a lot of, holdouts you, know there's not
a lot of and not a lot of recourse for
a player that wants to just withhold, services you, know
if he doesn't get a. Deal so, we'll you, know
(25:35):
we'll cross that bridge when we come to. It COULD
i have a you, know hamstring injury for the whole.
Season we'll. See but to, ME i, mean this is
a deal.
Speaker 3 (25:42):
That should get.
Speaker 5 (25:43):
DONE i believe it will get. DONE i believe he'll
be the highest paid non quarterback when it all gets
said and. Done but, YEAH i mean he, was you,
know pretty frank and honest about saying how much The
cowboys have cost themselves by not doing it. Immediately AND
i think that's. RIGHT i just don't know that they
keep to a deal right. Now that would make sense
for everyone because you, know you'd Like Aden hudginson to,
(26:03):
go LIKE. Tj watts to, Go Trey. HENDRICKSON i, mean
you'd like to fill out the market Before mike had
comes in and probably tops it. All SO i think
that's probably explained some of the, weight no.
Speaker 3 (26:14):
DOUBT i appreciated.
Speaker 1 (26:15):
Man thank, you all, Right thank you, Guys thanks ed,
Right he And.
Speaker 3 (26:18):
Rappaport OUR Nfl Network.
Speaker 2 (26:19):
Insider that was interesting stuff there About la with The
chargers that he was the guy that they were actually.
Wanting there then sort of things kind of fell apart
and they. Pivoted SEE i.
Speaker 3 (26:31):
Had not heard.
Speaker 4 (26:32):
That, Yeah and if in fact that's, true well then
that makes a little bit of. Sense if The chargers
actually wanted to keep, him but they wanted to keep
him at whatever they thought was their, price which is
how THE nfl. Works and he thought right after that, season,
Listen i've had a pretty good. Year that's not going
to get it, done and The chargers just decided to move. On,
(26:54):
now the fact that they moved on rather quickly is
surprising to. ME i don't Think Najee harris is as
good as back AS. Jk dobbins. Either he's not as.
Explosive he runs, hard he's, big he's. Durable BUT i
would Take dobbins and they spend a first round draft
(27:15):
choice on A mario And.
Speaker 3 (27:15):
HAMPTON i don't.
Speaker 4 (27:16):
Know we'll, See we'll see who winds up having the
most productive running back. ROOM i Like denver's chances in that,
aspect even Though Jim harbaugh is a run first coach
and a guy that's been really good over the. Years
in the running Game dobbins And harvey as compared To
(27:37):
hampton And. HARRIS i like The. BRONCOS i like The
broncos in that.
Speaker 2 (27:42):
Too let me ask you a, question AND i was
kind of doing a bit of a deep dive into.
This do you think The broncos currently have the best
offense in THE Afc?
Speaker 3 (27:52):
West?
Speaker 2 (27:53):
Like could there be an argument made that The broncos
have the best offense in THE Afc?
Speaker 1 (27:58):
West and if, not what would you need to see
to have that argument?
Speaker 5 (28:02):
Hold?
Speaker 3 (28:02):
Well they averaged twenty five over twenty five a game.
Speaker 1 (28:05):
Last, year more than any other team in the Hus
by the, Way.
Speaker 4 (28:07):
YEAH i think. IT i think it would depend on
sort of how you how you? Grade what do you
what are? You what are you looking? For you're looking
for the team that averages the most points because defensive
scores factor in that as.
Speaker 3 (28:22):
WELL i think The broncos are right. There you.
Speaker 4 (28:27):
Know Kansas, CITY i think has addressed their tackle issue
in the. OFFSEASON i think The broncos running game right now.
Speaker 3 (28:36):
Is better than The.
Speaker 4 (28:37):
Chiefs if The chiefs Get rice, back and it looks
like they, will Then rice And worthy help them a
lot in the passing.
Speaker 3 (28:46):
Game and they still.
Speaker 4 (28:47):
Have they still Have Patrick, mahomes, who you, know some
people think he's about to.
Speaker 3 (28:53):
Fall off a. CLIFF i haven't.
Speaker 4 (28:55):
Seen they weren't as good the last, year maybe the
last two years, offensively but they still have that. Guy
AND i haven't seen any indication that his play at
quarterback is ready to take two or three steps. Backwards
SO i think it's between The broncos and The, chiefs
AND i think Until Justin, herbert, honestly who's as talented
(29:17):
as any quarterback in the, game until they can win
a playoff game with, him you, know it's sort of you,
know it's it's, like oh, gosh it would be Like
Justin herbert right, now would be like who has been
a great regular season performer but just for whatever, reason
(29:41):
it's not worked out in the Play oh you, know
it would be like it'd be like The steelers the
last the last few. Years great, example, right, YEAH i,
mean or would be Like Dak prescott and The.
Speaker 1 (29:54):
Cowboys jack's another. Example cowboys With Dak.
Speaker 4 (29:57):
Prescott three consecutive years were twelve and five great regular
season And Dak prescott in his ten year career has
won two playoff. Games Justin herbert going into his this
is year, FIVE i believe has not won a playoff. Game,
well sooner letting you to, say, well Bon nicks had,
well Bon nixon is in his rookie, season going into
(30:19):
a second, year SO i, LIKE i think The broncos
offense long winded answer is right, there AND i think
the battle would be for the best offense in THE
Afc west would be The.
Speaker 2 (30:30):
Chiefs, yeah we might have to come back to this
tomorrow BECAUSE i think from a defensive, standpoint most people
are making the argument The broncos not only the best
defense IN thefie or maybe in THE, nfl might be
one of the best. Defenses but the offense has been
the thing that has taken a while to catch. Up
but then you look at last year and you, see,
well they scored more points than any other team in
THE Afc, west which is a little bit of a
surprise when you think about it in terms of a
(30:51):
rookie quarterback and how much.
Speaker 3 (30:53):
CHANGE i don't think anybody saw that.
Speaker 1 (30:54):
Coming, no, no, no not at.
Speaker 2 (30:55):
All they were eight percent better in the red zone
than The Kansas City. Chiefs they were a top ten
And i'm number nine overall in the red zone last,
year another sort of surprising stat and then you sort
of go, down, listen, Oh nick's had more touchdown passes
Than Pat. Mahomes not that that necessarily means, everything but
it's just all these little things and then you start
to add them up and it sort of paints a
(31:16):
bit of a, picture, now doesn't.
Speaker 3 (31:16):
It did you want to.
Speaker 4 (31:17):
Push back on the idea That Travis kelsey's going to
retire and be a kept man.
Speaker 3 (31:21):
And go a tour With Taylor? Swift is WHAT i
was like you In?
Speaker 2 (31:25):
January that was me and that was that would me
me saying he should still consider doing, that especially because
it feels like he has lost a bit of a.
Speaker 1 (31:31):
Step but he looks very happy at the at the lost.
Speaker 3 (31:33):
Twenty five Pounds Stanley. Cup either he intends to come.
Speaker 4 (31:36):
Back in much much better shape or she's just not
feeding him one other two.
Speaker 2 (31:43):
Quickly show Heyo tony pitching. Tonight, Yeah i'm about. That
how far has he removed From Tommy? John is it
year and a?
Speaker 3 (31:50):
Half year and a?
Speaker 4 (31:50):
Half?
Speaker 1 (31:50):
Yeah i'm, listen, Man i'm as a baseball fan and
you're a baseball. Fan he is there's something.
Speaker 3 (31:57):
About there's nothing like.
Speaker 4 (31:58):
Him, YEAH i, mean, honestly, obviously way way way before our.
Time but you got to go back To Babe. Ruth
you name a guy that is that good at the
plate and on the.
Speaker 3 (32:10):
Mound it's just so, fun so.
Speaker 2 (32:12):
Electric AND i mean obviously he's been an incredible hitter
of LAST i mean he went to The, dodgers got
that amazing contract.
Speaker 3 (32:19):
Seven hundred, million, right, yes and you're and you're.
Speaker 2 (32:21):
Like and he's not even gonna pitch for an entire
year and he still got that, guys, right, yes, Yes
and they, deferred remember they deferred like all of it
to like the back five years or.
Speaker 3 (32:30):
Whatever so the first.
Speaker 4 (32:31):
Several Years advisor sort of deferred some of it to his.
Speaker 3 (32:36):
Pocket he definitely. Did all, right that does it for.
Speaker 1 (32:38):
Us we'll be back tomorrow at three.
Speaker 2 (32:39):
