Speaker 1 (00:00):
It's hot. That's good.

Speaker 2 (00:01):
Hot, hot, hot, extremely hot. Dave?

Speaker 1 (00:04):
How is the temperature for practice today? Because I thought
about you and what that was like triple.

Speaker 2 (00:10):
Digits, That's that's where I came from, So it it
was warm. You know, Cherry Creek has an indoors there
plenty man, be careful of that week. I wish we did.
I would have used it today. I'll tell you that. Yeah. No,
it was plenty of water breaks.

Speaker 3 (00:28):
Yeah, you know, but you gotta hey, there's there's gonna
be some we We actually play game in Florida on
Labor Day weekends, so I'm imagining it's going to be
a tad bit warm, don't you think?

Speaker 2 (00:40):
On August twenty nine? Oh yeah, Dave? What you guys
got going on right now?

Speaker 3 (00:43):
Is it just like conditioning and then the install we
get installed period lifting the whole eight week program.

Speaker 2 (00:50):
You have to come out well, well, I'll come talk
about yourself a little tick at three tech. Oh I
need a little work. Can you imagine if you lined
up seriously, I'd have to trim you up a little bit,
tighten up the facial hair, but I put you in
helmet like in paths.

Speaker 3 (01:03):
They say this is I just call you Samson. Samson's
uh moved in from California and Samson and his family
Samson's seventeen.

Speaker 1 (01:12):
You just don't talk much and they get it. Get
in there. On the first roll. Oh my god, look
at this guy.

Speaker 2 (01:18):
He looks like a grown man. I would have to.

Speaker 3 (01:22):
Cover my tattoos a little bit and i'd have guards
pulling hammies.

Speaker 1 (01:27):
My leg hurts, coach, sure does it, sure does. Take
a laugh, all right, next one in there, next man up,
that would be That would be funny.

Speaker 3 (01:35):
You make sure you film that for for everybody. Yeah,
that'd be listen. We we could make a series like right,
that would be hilarious. It kind of reminds me like
we talked about before the Pros versus Joe's. Yeah, you know,
high school kids an't Joe's, don't get me wrong, but
it's just like the level, the difference in level of
competition between high school and college and college and then
even the Pros is astronomical. It's like the thing who

(01:59):
filmed like Quarters, Yes, like Baker Mayfield and I did it,
and they put wigs on all that and they're throwing
the ball and then all of a sudden you know,
Baker throws like seventy yards and they're.

Speaker 2 (02:10):
Like, oh, we've seen that same thing with Chris Bryant.
Oh no, they did that, and Chris Bryan did that
same thing for when you've been doing that the last
couple of years. Oh, I just knew that. No, but
I remember they did that same thing where he had
a wig on and did all this stuff and went in,
Uh was swinging, but then you know he had such
a signature swing he does like everyone was looking at

(02:32):
him like, yeah, that's right, that's right.

Speaker 1 (02:37):
Well, anyways, excited to be with you guys this afternoon.
We're on till six o'clock. We got all sorts of
fun things to get to including.

Speaker 2 (02:43):
Is I heard by the way, Sorry for interrupting you.

Speaker 3 (02:45):
So I heart celebrates June teenth, So we celebrate two
days in a row.

Speaker 1 (02:49):
Correct, That's not what I understand it to be.

Speaker 3 (02:52):
I walked there's nobody in the parking lot, and I
walked over here in the west side where the big dogs.

Speaker 1 (02:57):
Yeah, lay down. How's that looking empty?

Speaker 2 (03:00):
Pretty bad?

Speaker 1 (03:02):
Some imthaking William. It must be. It must be a
corporate holiday. Listendave. Everybody celebrates emancipation in different ways I
can't sit. You know, I'm always listen. I'm not mad
at him. I just didn't know. Fact I didn't know either.
Yeah I didn't know. I say, Shelby, did you know
that we did a forty weekend?

Speaker 2 (03:17):
Uh? You know it took a long time for the
slaves to find out in Texas that they were free,
So you know it makes sense. It's a two day holiday.

Speaker 1 (03:25):
Here we go, Here we go.

Speaker 3 (03:27):
Wait to go, buddy, Just like I said yesterday, and
welcome to our June teenth program.

Speaker 2 (03:32):
I heard Rady.

Speaker 1 (03:33):
That's right, and no, this is not a best of
We we are live right now.

Speaker 3 (03:37):
Yeah, what some of our friends are running? I mean,
I'm just asking for a friend. Some of our friends
are running best of? What's I'm just asking?

Speaker 1 (03:45):
Why is that? If the boss tells you this is
what you're doing, I mean, don't your chance, Like at
four o'clock we can do best of? Do we have
a best of?

Speaker 2 (03:54):
You mean, do we have any material worthy of best of?
Or do we actually have the best of? You can
honestly just put on all my singing parts, okay, and
we would have a good ten minutes of just stop there.

Speaker 1 (04:08):
Of great clips, period, great.

Speaker 2 (04:11):
I'm literally starting my singing career after this.

Speaker 1 (04:14):
You were inspired.

Speaker 2 (04:15):
I always tell about because the oldest about to go
to college. I'm like, once you move, I'm moving all
your stuff out of your room. I'm going to make studio.
You're making in the studio, and it's going to be
literally just vocals, big girls, don't.

Speaker 1 (04:29):
I'll tell you what the Weekend is performing in power
this week Are you going to.

Speaker 2 (04:34):
I'll be the front center.

Speaker 1 (04:35):
Baby, wait like Peyton, like Peyton when he gets up
in the country country.

Speaker 2 (04:40):
No, no, but literally like I've been a Weekend fan
since back to my Raider days and my second year.
I was literally supposed to go to his concert. Then
got a high ankles frame against the Chiefs. That game
couldn't go, so it prevented you from listening. I couldn't go.
I still listened to the song. But then then and
then literally and when I was with the Seahawks, we

(05:02):
had a preseason game in Dallas, and so and when
they came to Seattle, so my wife and oldest daughter
went it without me. And so now my wife and
oldest daughter in Tennessee for a softball tournament.

Speaker 1 (05:13):
So it's together. I'll be fine. It'll be hot, so
make sure you hydrates.

Speaker 2 (05:19):
Oh my goodness, it's going to be scorching.

Speaker 1 (05:21):
The Broncos actually put out a thing just a little
bit ago that they're going to take heat advisory precautions
for the concert tomorrow night at a power field a
mile high. They're going to have this is under a
heat advisory. They're taking several precautions to ensure safety attendees,
and they're adding additional medical staff uh there at the
stadium and then having medical treatment areas better known as

(05:42):
ice packs and maybe I thes.

Speaker 2 (05:45):
Yeah, oh yeah, you know, I forgot ivs gratis. That's
that's probably smarter than them to view that. Probably what's
supposed tomorrow hundred two like a right struggle struggle feeling it.

Speaker 1 (05:57):
So last night, well, first of all, did Ben hit
you up after the game?

Speaker 2 (06:03):
Did he?

Speaker 1 (06:03):
Did he send you a text? Because we're on the game.
It's it's coming though texting me. He was texting me
about how he's won one of the bets.

Speaker 2 (06:12):
He has.

Speaker 3 (06:12):
He has won one of the bets, which means he's
only down one going into game seven, So when Oak
City wins, it'll still be down two. Stakes No, but
I'll say this about the game. Although I did pick
Indiana and the under you git them both, hit them both.

Speaker 1 (06:36):
You did, Shelby, you did too. I missed on both.

Speaker 3 (06:39):
So I picked oak City to win this series in five,
and obviously it's going seven. I still think oak City
will win. I don't feel as good. I hated the
way they played last night. They just kinda they just
kind of mailed it. It means it's the first time I've

(07:00):
seen that team, at least of the playoffs just sort
of like go through the motion.

Speaker 2 (07:08):
When Denver beats them by forty, I would say it
was that one other time.

Speaker 1 (07:12):
Well, No, Denver didn't beat them by.

Speaker 2 (07:14):
Thirty, No, by thirty and the Memphis beat them by four.

Speaker 1 (07:16):
Oh, you're talking about the clip never beat the Clippers
by thirty?

Speaker 2 (07:19):
Yes, the second game in the series. No, third game,
like when the beat the crap out of them by.

Speaker 3 (07:31):
Fort Are you talking about Denver Memphis? Okay, See, Denver
didn't beat okay see by forty.

Speaker 2 (07:37):
No, I know Memphis did. I don't know one. I
think Denver won by like twenty.

Speaker 1 (07:44):
No, No, I don't think so. I looked at it.

Speaker 2 (07:47):
You need to get that ice pack on your head.
That's been how I had to go water the grass.

Speaker 1 (07:51):
Well mid day watering.

Speaker 2 (07:55):
Yeah, I just did it.

Speaker 1 (07:56):
When I got home.

Speaker 2 (07:57):
I just stopped. Today's hard way to go get spring. Uh.
They cut the they cut the sprinkler hose when they
were putting u while they're putting the pool in. I
know this is complete first four problems. But and then
went out there was over here the water in the
yard yard, and honestly, it made me feeld one with
my house. Yeah, I felt like it was perfect this

(08:19):
to be out here water in the yard. I was like,
all right, now I'm I'm a real homeowner.

Speaker 1 (08:22):
Okay, so I'm gonna correct you. All right, you ready
for this?

Speaker 2 (08:25):
Twelve?

Speaker 1 (08:26):
Yeah, they twelve. They won by twelve. That was game six. Six. Yeah,
game six, they won by twelve. They won by nine
and overtime.

Speaker 2 (08:36):
It was Dinver. It was Denver that got.

Speaker 1 (08:38):
Yes by forty three. Yes it was it was definitely,
but they lost.

Speaker 2 (08:43):
It was Memphis. I beat my forty that first first round.

Speaker 1 (08:46):
Okay, see yeah, okay, see.

Speaker 2 (08:47):
Yeah yeah Denver. Yeah, I mean it was Memphis that
beat them down first round. And it's just the vibes
were bad.

Speaker 1 (08:53):
The vibe were bad almost from the beginning, and it
only got worse. The second and third quarters were just
it was a bit of a laugher last night. And
you think about Jalen Williams, I'm gonna start with him.
Forty points to minus forty in the plus minus proof.
I mean, that is one of the all time swings
in a playoff performance. And I don't know, you you

(09:16):
might chalk it up to something else. This felt to
me like a team that hasn't experienced closing out a
finals series because they've never been here before, so they
don't know what it looks like. I think a more
experienced team would have stepped on the throat of the
Pacers last night. But the Pacers showed up with the
energy that the Oklahoma City Thunder did not.

Speaker 2 (09:35):
It just kind of felt that, Okay, so they thought
it was gonna be easy, this easy, easy elimination game.
Any elimination game has never easy.

Speaker 1 (09:42):
Like they took their soul in the previous game and
the Pacers are done.

Speaker 2 (09:46):
Yeah, But what okay see did is they just gave
Indiana all the juice for Game seven, all the momentum
for Game seven, because everybody counted them out the man.
We heard about the Halliburton injury. Everybody counted the them
out from the beginning, and then they went out there
and beat the crap out out of the thunder like
the whole And one of the craziest part of that

(10:08):
game was the beginning of the third quarter when okay
like that, Indiana wasn't doing good at all. I could
believe four, but okay See was doing even worse.

Speaker 1 (10:17):
I couldn't believe what I was watching it.

Speaker 2 (10:19):
It was bad basketball on both ends, but okay See
just made it look just so egregious that it was
really hard to watch.

Speaker 1 (10:25):
If they score ten points in those first five minutes,
like you're saying, game, it's a different game, and all
of a sudden, the pressure starts to mount on the Pacers.
I mean, the Pacers probably still win, but at least
at that point they're gonna feel it. They never felt
Oklahoma City from start to finish that game.

Speaker 2 (10:39):
But then also just looking at the grand scheme of things,
I feel like Oklahoma City a lot usually drops the
ball when they have a chance to end the series.
I do, and granted they have come back out and
won all the other ones, but it's the NBA Finals,
anything can happen.

Speaker 1 (10:56):
Well, you brought it up there with the Nuggets. I mean,
there's other example right there. They have a chance to
close out the Nuggets there in Game six, and they
obviously failed to do that. The Nuggets ended up winning
that game. They had to go to Game seven, which
they won decidedly. But the Nuggets at that point, by
the time they were playing Game seven, it was I mean,
was a one arm with MPJ, one leg with a

(11:17):
Aaron Gordon, Nikola Jokis was dealing with elbow. You had
Russell Westbrook dealing with two broken bones in his hand.
I mean, it was so okay.

Speaker 2 (11:26):
So if Aaron Gordon doesn't get hurt, do you think
the Nuggets end up winning that Game seven or do
you think that really doesn't matter.

Speaker 1 (11:32):
I listen, they came out in the first quarter, and
you remember they came out in the first quarter. They
punched okay, see in the mouth. They got up by
ten I think, maybe even maybe even twelve, but they
got it buy double digits in the first quarter in
Oklahoma City, and it was sort of like, this is
our best shot if we can get them feeling a
certain way early on in this game. Maybe we can
sustain that, Maybe we can trick ourselves into sustaining it.

(11:54):
I thought that what Aaron Gordon did in game seven
was was nothing short of herculean like he he was
out there and it was inspiring stuff, and I wondered
if it would help the guys, if it would help
the rest of the team to see him gutting it
out out there. He was clearly not close to even
fifty percent of himself, but he was out there. He

(12:17):
was taking shots, he was playing great defense. He had
a rebound around for Oklahoma s a thunder at one time.
I'm like, man, this is inspiring stuff, Like you're an
all time Nuggets for this performance by itself, let alone.
You want championship here. But to answer your question, no,
I still think they were missing the required depth and
they were just on fumes like they were on fumes

(12:39):
as a team.

Speaker 2 (12:40):
You know, we can all always hope and always you know,
look back at at things and kind of you know,
hypothesize and question what if, what could have what could
have been? But the craziest part I guess, And we
talked about this yesterday regarding the Pacers, but guess who
showed up yesterday for the Pacers.

Speaker 1 (12:59):
No, well, he did show he made.

Speaker 2 (13:03):
And minhard like we talked about, they showed up for
their team. Yes, they coulda combined and it was big
shots and and so that's that's what I always say,
is like the not your main guys, not your stars.
The other guys are the ones that have to step
up to really propel you to to win. Especially on
a game where Miles Turner had three points.

Speaker 1 (13:24):
I know well, and Obi top and had twenty points,
and then you had TJ McConnell, who continues to be
just a bit of an engine for this team off
the bench. I mean, he showed up and got twelve,
but he was he was out there hustling. I think
you have four steals and nine rebounds. I mean he
was really tremendous. So yeah, I mean the Pacers wanted
it more like in the end. That's what that looked
like last night. The question I have for you and

(13:45):
they will be back here in a second. The question
I have for you guys is game seven us arriving
at Game seven in this series. Because I said yesterday
I thought the Pacers have been overachieving up to this point.
I still stand by that, but we can table that.
Is this more about the Thunder or the Pacer. Are
we at game seven because the Thunder haven't become the
team they were supposed to be at sixty eight wins

(14:07):
and all those kinds of things, or would we underestimate
the Pacers a little bit? And the Pacers are that
kind of scrappy team that honestly, Oklahoma City should be
scared for in Game seven.

Speaker 2 (14:16):
I think we underestimated the Pacers, now, we because I
thought they had a chance. From Again, I think a
lot of people underestimated the Pacers just because going into it, Okay,
see's the one seed, the overall one seed of the
of the playoffs, and so instantly when a lower seed,
like a four seed like the Pacers are, make it

(14:37):
the one seed automatically in everyone's eyes, it's like, all right,
they're going to blow them out. The four seed shouldn't
even be here and when. But like, no matter what,
though we had, nobody watches and the Pacers aren't the
most don't play the most national games ever, and nobody
realized how good of team basketball the Pacers play. I

(14:57):
didn't realize until I saw them dismantle the Bucks in
that first round because you we don't see the Pacers everybody,
I wouldn't say that we have a championship, just hype.

Speaker 1 (15:07):
The nugget team recently, recently one last three three years? Now,
what was it, bit first rend X. It's all three years.

Speaker 2 (15:16):
Yeah, but we've had a star player injured all three years?

Speaker 1 (15:20):
Here we go?

Speaker 2 (15:20):
Have you not? I haven't played?

Speaker 1 (15:23):
Is y'all still playing?

Speaker 2 (15:24):
Actually he missed one of those even when we won
the championship. Yann has missed such a whole series with
the hypertended me. So like last time that the Bucks
have had awful injury history in the playoffs, we just
got lucky enough to really win one of them. And
if it wasn't for Kevin Durant?

Speaker 1 (15:43):
Are you are you rooting for the Pacers to win
this thing so that it justifies the Bucks being bounced
in the first round? Are you that guy? Know?

Speaker 2 (15:50):
I'm not. That's not the only reason. I think it
is part part of the reason I wonder, No, it
is part of me. But also I'm always going to
root for the underdog. Okay, I love underdog stories. That's
you know. I was underdog seven round pig, you know
what I mean? You got to you got a root
for the little guy. You got a roof for the
guy who nobody else is rooting for. And I think,

(16:12):
you know, the way that people are talking about this
is like a David and Goliath, and I don't even
see it like that, because you know Goliath. You know
that's not the Thunder. They haven't won anything yet, and
so I feel like it's a more even matchup, and
like you can't just crown the Thunder. They haven't as
we see, they're a young team and they have sports
where you could tell they haven't been there before.

Speaker 1 (16:33):
I'm not crying anybody, and you have crowned one. I
thought that Thunder from the very beginning. Now he said
in five, I had him, In six, I had Thunder
and six. So last night was the night if they
were going to do it. Based on what I thought
was gonna happen, I wasn't overlooking the Pacers at all.
I've been watching the entire postseason, and the Pacers are
legitimately where they're at for a reason. It's just to

(16:55):
say that when we entered the postseason, there were several
teams in the East that I liked, like Cleveland, New York.
I thought Cleveland. Cleveland was a mess in the postseason,
but they were They were a great regular season team.
I thought Boston. I really thought Boston and New York
would just separate themselves. They just seemed like the teams
that were ready to go.

Speaker 2 (17:12):
I didn't even think New York really was going to
separate themselves. Everybody know that. The consensus for me was Austin. Yeah,
you know what I mean. Everyone thought Boston was want
to just figure it out and really just they had
just one a year before they're going to take over
and do it again.

Speaker 1 (17:24):
They also got a pretty awful injury luck with Jason Tatum.
But what for what it's.

Speaker 2 (17:29):
Worth, it just about all injuries this injury that, But
don't you have your honest and all this, But like
doing Dame Litard gets hurt, he came back, he came
when he come back, he came back.

Speaker 1 (17:40):
He played in the series and he played Oh gosh.

Speaker 2 (17:48):
I mean, and you know, we talked about it yesterday
and we talked about Tyers Halliburton about the issues were
playing with a path But man, you couldn't even really
tell he was hurt. I'm talking about just accelerating going
after loose balls, and that's where I thought you were
going to see a little less from Tyers Halliburton. Was

(18:08):
more of the suddenness and and you know a loose ball,
Oh that's not really you know, just save yourself. Now.
They did do him a solid by going up, so
going up by so much because he didn't play the
whole fourth quarter. So you know, you once again now
you have a more rested Tyre's Halliburton. And I love
what Doris Burke said, actually yesterday did that you saw

(18:30):
right there Tyres Halliburton being able to play is the
difference between playing at.

Speaker 1 (18:34):
Home and playing on the road significant.

Speaker 2 (18:36):
He played. They were playing at home, so he was
able to get all of his rehab, all this treatment
stuff done and everything you could possibly do. You could
do it all day. You're not in the hotel room.
You're in the luxury of your house, and then you
come up in that and I don't think you have
that same type of player if they're on the road.

Speaker 1 (18:50):
I think it's a great point. I think having the
extra days, because we've been talking about though throughout the series,
you're going three days in between games. I think that
also played a little bit of a role. But that's
a great point you bring up. Have roll here on
a Friday, very excited to be with you, Dave Logan,
Ryan over Shelby hears well, come back. I have to
apologize to Shelby. I overlooked something he said yesterday, and
I feel a little sheepish. I'll explain coming up next.

(19:12):
What was the movie the Adam Sandler movie The Weekend
was in? Did you see that?

Speaker 2 (19:18):
Was that? The No?

Speaker 1 (19:21):
Was it Adam Sandler? I thought, hold on, it was?
It was an uncut gems there was Yeah, you should
you haven't seen that yet?

Speaker 2 (19:33):
I have?

Speaker 1 (19:33):
Oh yeah, okay, yea. And the week it was intense man.

Speaker 2 (19:36):
Well okay, it's actually crazy because obviously I must have
fell asleep with something because I don't remember till we
can what I'm saying. That must fell asleep because I
was like the.

Speaker 1 (19:49):
Prominent role too.

Speaker 2 (19:50):
I'm not gonna have a prominent role.

Speaker 1 (19:53):
You saw multiple scenes like speaking speaking role is a
prominent role.

Speaker 2 (19:57):
Halle Berry had a prominent role in sword Fish. I
had a great role and sword for this. I remember that,
remember that, Yes I do. I remember that as a
as a young pup.

Speaker 3 (20:09):
And I remember it as a younger, younger. Yes, acting
was great too. Honestly that movie?

Speaker 1 (20:15):
Uh was watching sword Fish John Berry?

Speaker 2 (20:22):
Yeah, sorry, remember that for sure? Yeah, that was like
a defining moment in a in a young man's life.

Speaker 1 (20:28):
Yes, I think we lost Shelby five six going too.
I'm just acting like I'm here, look a bit strutting
in here. Look at look at this guy?

Speaker 3 (20:39):
What what your little You won one steak? You're still
too down? With one game coming up Sunday night? This guy,
what do you want to say? What do you want
to say? Yeah, okay, okay, we'll see. We'll see you
on Sunday night. Yeah, we'll see, we'll see. You stayed
behind the glass for a reason. Hey, these thumbs be
working on Sunday night.

Speaker 1 (21:00):
Yes, now, now we already do that. I show you
the money. Well, we'll get into that. So you'll have
to tell me if you think they can cover the
seven and a half.

Speaker 3 (21:09):
Yeah, listen, that's at all kidding. Decided with him. I
hated the way Oak City played last night. Yeah, and
it does. It does make me think if Indiana can
keep this game close in the fourth I have some
real doubts about how Oak City it is going to handle.

Speaker 1 (21:29):
So oak City is better.

Speaker 3 (21:30):
Oklahoma City is better offensively when they're flowing, they're knocking
down shots, and they're ahead, and they're ahead by a lot,
and they've been ahead by a lot this year, right,
But with a team like Indiana that just kind of
hangs around and then all of a sudden they hit
a three, and then they get a steal, and they
hit another three, and now it's like, oh, then all
of a sudden, it turns into the reason I said

(21:53):
to you a long time ago. I thought Oklahoma City
was a little bit soft, and it was an offensive
way that I was looking at it. When things tighten up,
the other four cats kind of just stand there and say, Shay,
go ahead, go ahead and do your thing, and he
tries to go one on one. Well, Indiana's good enough
on defense with how they have schemed against SGA to.

Speaker 1 (22:14):
Make that tough.

Speaker 2 (22:15):
So I think Oklahoma City will win. But I did
not like the way they responded last night. But did
you see the change in schemes from Indiana? Yes, press,
good back, let's just play.

Speaker 3 (22:32):
And they chased on screen rolls normally when they would
switch it. Now in this game, the guy that was
originally covering SGA they got screened continued to trail him,
so in essence, when he got to the free throw
line extended, which is where he likes to work and
pretty much where he can get any shot he wants.

Speaker 1 (22:53):
You've got a guy. Now you're basically double.

Speaker 2 (22:55):
Team in the ball and somebody else is going to
a wide open look at that, But somebody else is
gonna have to hit it. And I think in Oklahoma
City the thunder are more likely to have guys role
players that'll step up and hit wide open shots. Well,
I just believe that with Indiana not necessarily going full
court press, it's going to eliminate a lot of those

(23:17):
open threes that we saw from okay See that they
were knocking down early in the series. And so I
really believe that Indiana's change of defensive scheme for that
last game threw Okasee off and they didn't recover. It'll
be interesting to see what little tweaks okay See does to,

(23:37):
you know, their offense to be more efficient, because I mean,
I look at a little bit differently. I thought they
got plenty of open looks last night. He's can throw
it in the ocean.

Speaker 1 (23:47):
I mean at halftime, they're one of eleven from three.

Speaker 3 (23:50):
They shot twenty seven percent I think from three for
the I mean it's.

Speaker 2 (23:55):
It's not they're not the greatest three points because when
they played Denver, yeah, because Denver was struggling from three,
but then all right there with them. Yeah, okay, see
it was always dinner was shooting in bed. Okay, see
was shooting bad.

Speaker 3 (24:07):
When Indiana gets going and when they kind of play
free what I call free flow, Like they got four
or five guys that are not afraid to rise from
three point range and they can knock shots down. So
I still think Oklahoma City will win, but I did not.
Boy last night, I'm thinking.

Speaker 4 (24:27):
Wow City turning the ball over twenty one times? Yeah, well,
I mean well I didn't have a turnover in two Yeah.
Third quarter, Yeah, the third quarter. You're not going to lose. Yeah,
you're not going to lose playing basketball like that.

Speaker 2 (24:39):
Especially, that's exactly when I when a coach puts up
his ideal way of playing basketball is how the Pacers
played basketball at first half.

Speaker 1 (24:48):
So yesterday you said something that I laughed at you four,
and I kind of felt bad about it afterwards a
little bit.

Speaker 3 (24:55):
Because I know you didn't. I know you didn't. I
don't even know what it is, but let me just said, no,
you didn't. I have empathy, Dave. I have a lot
of empathy.

Speaker 1 (25:06):
If I take a tease, try empathy oftentimes on this show, No,
I asked who is the most approved next year? You
said Audrick Estimate. I laughed at you initially because that
I gave you four options and you just said, I
don't want any of those options. I'm gonna go with
Addrick Estimate. Now, one hand, you might be saying because
you don't believe in JK. Dobbins. Maybe that's the case,
But why do you think audric estimates? I didn't ask you.

(25:27):
Why did you think Audric Estimate has the most approved
considering the fact that they drafted a second round running
back and they just paid five million dollars to JK. Dobbins.

Speaker 2 (25:35):
Well, because, like I was kind of saying yesterday, if
you as a running back in this league, you have
a very short time frame and when the teams start
drafting players over you, when teams starts signing players over you,
that can start meaning that you know your career is
starting to shorten up and might end soon. So When
I say the most approved, I mean the most approved

(25:57):
to stick around in the NFL, because for what we
seems so far, it's not good enough. He's going to
have to step it up in order to stick around anywhere,
not just talking about with the Broncos, just talking about anywhere,
because with how deep this last running back class was,
so it's going to push players out of the league.
And so Audic essay it was he had his chance
last year. You know, they they all had a chance

(26:18):
last year to do something and to kind of cement
themselves as a name, and and and McLoughlin's really the
only one that did something that that Sean Payton feels
like he's all right, we can use him. They went
and they drafted our J. Harvey second round, and then
they went and signed JK. Dobbins. So who's there's a
couple as an odd man out in that situation. And

(26:41):
so I estimate it was things that were expected of him,
and he didn't necessarily fulfill those those that prophecy, and
so yeah, it's it's make a break for him. This
is a situation where you got to realize that every
snap you get could be your last year. Gott go out
there and play some good football. Otherwise you might be
on the couch.

Speaker 1 (27:01):
I want to finish this conversation. On the other side,
Ben literally came over here just to sit in the
studio to look at you. I'm Ada and I said hey,
I said, hey, bring bring that.

Speaker 2 (27:15):
Come on in here, Come on in here, Ben, Oh,
wearing that little small ass T shirt you got on?
Come on in here.

Speaker 1 (27:26):
Do you own any adult sized T shirts? Or is
it all? Never mind?

Speaker 2 (27:30):
Uh sorts even if shorts and short.

Speaker 3 (27:35):
Lose or not.

Speaker 1 (27:36):
I'm sir, cocktail. I'm excited about that. We're gonna post
some of those shots. That's gonna be good. Yeah, that's
gonna be good. So I asked you about Audric Estime.
I asked Shelby about him. Are we overlooking Audrick Estime? Dave?
I mean, where are you at with throunning backs? Sehn
Peyton Tols not to count said that there's still a
lot of competition out there. Shelby says, based on studying

(27:57):
the Broncos like he had to last year before that game,
that he believes in notdrick estimate. What do you think.

Speaker 3 (28:05):
I think he showed enough last year that you come
back with sort of an open mind to him making
the team this year.

Speaker 2 (28:18):
The one thing that I thought he had to he
had to improve on, And I mean young players improve.

Speaker 1 (28:24):
People think, you know how you see.

Speaker 3 (28:26):
Guys the rookie year where that's how they are their
second year and think, no, I mean young players and
even older players can get better at certain things. Now
you get to a point where physically you're not going
to get any better, but then mentally you've seen a
lot of stuff and you're one of those smart kg
old dudes that is still a really, really good player.
But Adric Estimate, I think had to He had to

(28:46):
get quicker feet at times in the hole.

Speaker 2 (28:50):
But he is a big, powerful back, so what he has,
you know, at two hundred and thirty five pounds, you
know that's that's you know, those guys don't just fall
out of tree.

Speaker 3 (29:04):
So I would take a good, long, hard look at him.
And I don't think the Broncos have made their decision like, hey,
we're going to move on from Estimate now. If I'm
Oudric Estimate, I don't like the fact that you signed JK.
Dobbins and I'm not even crazy about the fact that
you drafted RJ.

Speaker 1 (29:24):
Harvey.

Speaker 2 (29:25):
So I'm coming into camp like in the best shape
of my life, and I'm coming in with a big
chip on my shoulder, and I'm coming in knowing my
plays and when I get the ball, you know what,
I'm going to be hard to get on the ground.

Speaker 1 (29:37):
Period.

Speaker 2 (29:38):
Well, if you look at the Broncos struggles from last year,
they specifically struggled on short yardist situations and you have
a big back and it still didn't work.

Speaker 1 (29:49):
And not only realize them a lot either, like that
is true, Yeah, that is true.

Speaker 2 (29:54):
Yeah, but at the end of the day, it's just
they didn't feel like he was going to be the
guy to get the the short the yard they needed four.
If in one you're not going to your two hundred
and thirty five pounds back, there's a problem, not necessarily
a problem that the team isn't just handing off. It's
a problem necessarily the player, and it's no confidence in
the player in order to hand him the ball off.

(30:15):
And so you can't be a guy who is a
strong big back. You don't have breakaway speed, You're not
necessarily the quickest guy in the world. You've got to
be able to go out there on third and fourth
down and show yard the situations and get that first down.
And the Broncos struggled severely with that last year.

Speaker 1 (30:32):
But you said it perfectly and Dave can attest they
didn't trust him. Whatever reason, they just didn't believe. And
maybe it was because the fumbles early on, maybe it
was because he was a rookie. I mean, there's there's
a multitude of reasons they never felt settled at running
back West.

Speaker 2 (30:46):
I think head coaches in the NFL, and I've played
for one, especially for young guys that are unproven. You
come in training camp, you go through camp, whatever, maybe
maybe you blow an assignment, maybe one time in practice
or maybe two times in practice and blet's pick up

(31:09):
your your your eyes are in the wrong spot on
that particular uh front, who who who who?

Speaker 1 (31:16):
You have right?

Speaker 2 (31:17):
So that starts to chip away a confidence. Then if
you put the ball on the ground not once maybe
but maybe two times, then it's like what happens for
coaches at that level is once they get into the
regular season, they're they're not they're not spending a hell
of a lot of time on trying to make sure
they're young people get snaps they're they're trying to come

(31:38):
up with schemes that can beat the raiders on Sunday
in Las Vegas. And I think, I think, I think
he fell I thought I think Esme sort of fell
into that rut and he just had a hell of
a hard time getting

Speaker 1 (31:51):
