Speaker 1 (00:00):
Today we're on till four thirty. We got Rockies Baseball
taking on the Red Sox. We'll want to get to
our show me the money picks here in just a
matter of moments five six, six, nine zeros or KWI
Common Spirit Health text Lin if you want to interact
with the show. So this has been kind of fun
to follow along. They do this every single year on ESPN,
the NFL's best top ten of each position, and today

(00:21):
was the Edge Rushers. Nick Benito just missing out of
that top ten. But maybe next year you can find
himself in that. I thought it'd be interesting to ask
you guys, because I know we're gonna see patser Tan
probably near the top, if not number one overall, Quinn Minors,
maybe Garret Bowles. I'm trying to think of anybody else
that might make the top ten for the Broncos. I
don't think so. I don't think there's anybody else that

(00:42):
comes to mind for you. Zach Allen just missed as
well for defensive tackles. Um, Yeah, top ten, I think
that's about right.

Speaker 2 (00:51):
Probably not. I think Zach belongs in the top ten.

Speaker 1 (00:55):
There's an argument.

Speaker 2 (00:55):
I think you could make that argument.

Speaker 1 (00:57):
Yeah, he just missed, And I said, Nick Benito just missed,
he got honorable mention kind of stuff.

Speaker 2 (01:04):
Quinn Miners would be the guy.

Speaker 1 (01:05):
Quinn's going to be in theraps two. I was wondering,
as we sort of predict the season coming up, which
is going to be starting any day now, who will
be in the top ten. You'll make a bold prediction
of who will be in the top ten that is
not currently in the top ten on this roster next year,
like this time next year, which guy has the best chance?
Or you can say multiple guys has the best chance

(01:26):
to be in the top ten of their requisite position.

Speaker 2 (01:31):
Both sides of the ball. We're talking we one on
each side.

Speaker 1 (01:34):
If you want to go have at it, you can
say multiple you have guys. You say talanoa Hufonga all
of a sudden is going to be a top ten safety.

Speaker 3 (01:42):
Well, you already said Zach Allen's not well today, but
but I do think he will be.

Speaker 1 (01:46):
So a year from now, where we're looking at these lists,
you'll be like, Zach Allen mortal locks for the top ten.

Speaker 3 (01:52):
Contract a year. Yeah, I think I think he's going
to have that type of year. Offensively, I would say
if Evan Ingram it is not in the top ten one,
then it probably is not as good of a free
agent acquisition as the Broncos would hope. I would say,
he's going to get a lot. He's got to stay healthy,

(02:14):
but so does everybody else. He's going to get a
lot of opportunities to make catches. So I just think
if you stay on the field, you're able to physically
do it. I mean, Evan Ingram I think will have
more than seventy five catches. So I don't know where
that would rank him in terms of the overall tight ends.
You got Bowers had a terrific year with the Raiders.

(02:36):
You've got Kittles, You've got I mean, you've got the
usual suspects. You've got Laporta with Detroit. Kelsey's getting a
little bit. Trey McBride, you just signed a huge deal
with the Cardinals. Congratulations to him, Colorado kids. Yes, Well,
how about this. What if Evan Ingram is top ten

(02:57):
at the end of the year, but Nick sneaks in,
See that's what I'm talking about.

Speaker 2 (03:02):
That'd be good.

Speaker 1 (03:03):
That'd be good.

Speaker 2 (03:04):
Because where where was bon Nicks on this list?

Speaker 1 (03:06):
They do it in stages, so every day and the
new they have none quarterbacks.

Speaker 3 (03:10):
Are you looking at the top ten quarterbacks?

Speaker 1 (03:12):
No, they haven't gotten two quarterbacks. I don't even think
they've done offense yet. The rushers today, defensive tackles yesterday,
they just kind of space this thing out.

Speaker 3 (03:21):
The top ten quarterbacks right now, Yes, don't you think?

Speaker 1 (03:24):
I think so. I think, I mean, if we I
mean just taking a look at it. I think you
in no particular order, he say, Joe Burrow, Lamar.

Speaker 3 (03:31):
Jackson, Patrick Mahomes, Josh Allen, Josh Allen, Jade Daniels, JB.

Speaker 1 (03:38):
That's five.

Speaker 2 (03:39):
Jalen Hurts would be in there, has.

Speaker 1 (03:40):
Got to be in there at six.

Speaker 3 (03:43):
Cayler Murray get in there. Nope, No, not probably. I
do think he's this year. I surge debate. I think
he's gonna have a better year this year.

Speaker 1 (03:50):
He finished eleventh passing yards. Oh, I think Jared Goffman,
Tro Herbert. Herbert's interesting. He's interesting for me to Yeah,
I think on our personal list he would probably be
in that conversation. But you know, I don't know what
the Chargers necessarily, you know, with Harbaugh there, you know

(04:11):
they want to run it like they really want to
commit to the run, which is gonna sort of depress
his stats.

Speaker 3 (04:18):
But how many how many times did he throw it
last year with Harball there.

Speaker 1 (04:24):
It sold through a five hundred and four times what
I mean so, but I mean compared to Joe Burrow
through a six fifty two. Well, that's a different animal altogether. Yeah,
as you watched those first three episodes of Quarterbacks, I mean,
he is slinging it. But that's all they could do.
They had no choice. Everything was a shit. Every game
was a shootout.

Speaker 3 (04:44):
I'll tell you this, no no earth shattering news here.
He is as good a quarterback as anybody we have today.
And I know, you know they didn't make the playoffs
last year and then they got to the super Bowl
and they beat I'm just telling you, I'd be hard

(05:04):
pressed to right now say you can have one quarterback
at this point, whatever the point of his career is go,
I'd be hard pressed not to say, Joe Burrow, what
a good question.

Speaker 2 (05:21):
Now, he's had the ACL he's had, he's had.

Speaker 3 (05:24):
Two significant injuries at the wrist, but he's how old
is Joe Burrow twenty seven?

Speaker 1 (05:34):
I want to say, y eight, twenty eight till twenty
nine in December.

Speaker 3 (05:37):
You know, Mahomes is still Mahomes. He's in the conversation.
But I mean, who right now if you said you
can build a franchise, but you have to take the
quarterback as is right now?

Speaker 2 (05:51):
Maybe Josh Allen. Maybe. Yeah, Burrow's the guy from me.

Speaker 3 (05:56):
And after prepping for the game last year against the
Bengals on the road and then watching him in person,
I left that day or that night thinking Burrow is
the best quarterback in the league.

Speaker 2 (06:10):
I think he's better than Mahomes.

Speaker 3 (06:12):
Well, Lamar Jackson, I don't know about that, but it's debatable, right,
but yeah.

Speaker 1 (06:17):
Lamar, Yeah, I mean you couldn't go Howl's Lamar because
he's like a cheat code thirty. He is twenty eight
as well.

Speaker 2 (06:25):
He's only twenty eight. I think I could win with
him too.

Speaker 3 (06:30):
You Burrow, Lamar, Mahomes, Allen, They're all great, they really are.

Speaker 1 (06:36):
I would just be hard.

Speaker 2 (06:37):
I mean, if you said, hey, you've got of that group,
You've got.

Speaker 1 (06:42):
Burrows, Joe Burrow.

Speaker 3 (06:44):
Excuse me, I wouldn't like leave the meeting depressed, no
at all.

Speaker 1 (06:51):
Well, and he's got as we're watching this show, right,
he's got this sort of swagger to him. He's kind
of quiet, but then he just goes out there. And
I mean, and now, they had some tough times last year.
Obviously the defense was what it was, but they had
some offensive line stuff. But he always seems to rise
above it, right, I mean except for his rookie year
when he got hurt. Uh, he's he is, he is unbelievable.

Speaker 2 (07:13):
He realized he was such a fashionista. You're right, yeah, right?
Which is which of the Paris whatever that was? Yeah,
the right.

Speaker 1 (07:22):
I can't remember heard the word bore the back list?
Vogue Fashion Show? Was it? Vogue Fashion Show?

Speaker 2 (07:27):
Yeah? Rick?

Speaker 3 (07:28):
You ever attend that? Uh, that'd be for me, No, Dave.
Look at how I'm dressed today. Well today you're doing radio. Yeah,
it's a little different. I came right through the practice field.
Well you're dressed like that every day, no practice I am.

Speaker 2 (07:42):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (07:43):
You know, if I was a fashionista, I would dress
up even for this, right, I would do it the diaper.
Why don't you take a look at the series quarterback
series and when you see the suit that Joe Burrow
wore when he was in Paris, I think it would
be a strong message for you to have one of

(08:04):
those this year on the Broncos road trip. Okay, can it?
Can somebody show me a picture break? So let you
know if I would wear something, I should just trust me. Okay,
I'm going to say, yeah, I would probably wear Okay,
I'm gonna say I don't even know what it is,
but I think.

Speaker 1 (08:23):
It's definitely there's hold on and he's a flashy dude.
There there's the backlip suits.

Speaker 3 (08:31):
That's who wears that that? Well, that's like a would
be strong. It's like a woman's dress.

Speaker 2 (08:39):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (08:40):
And then here's the front, so it has the deep
V sort of like accents.

Speaker 3 (08:44):
I think I have the back. I think I can
pull it off with the back. Maybe bleach my hair
blonde because he's done that before.

Speaker 1 (08:55):
Too done that.

Speaker 2 (08:56):
I'm in.

Speaker 3 (08:56):
Okay, all right, I'm in for five hundred. And are
we gonna wear matching or no?

Speaker 1 (09:01):
No, no, no, no no no, no, this is you. This
is all on you.

Speaker 2 (09:04):
Will you buy me the suit? Yes?

Speaker 3 (09:08):
All right, I'm not off the hook on this. Then
I thought, for sure, I'll buy it and you and
pay for the tailoring.

Speaker 2 (09:17):
M you gotta bleach your hair blonde and wear that suit?
What game. Will we talk? I think we're talking about
the Philly game.

Speaker 3 (09:23):
Going to Philly that day then, and then you'll be
down in the interviewing fan.

Speaker 2 (09:31):
Vic.

Speaker 1 (09:31):
Yeah, you can also do it for the Bengals game
for Joe Burt, Joe Burrow.

Speaker 2 (09:36):
Well, that's not a road game, though. This has to be.
This has to be a road game.

Speaker 1 (09:40):
Walking into Philadelphia.

Speaker 2 (09:44):
Well you what are you going to do? You don't
want to walk in with you?

Speaker 1 (09:48):
What do you mean?

Speaker 2 (09:48):
What am I gonna do? This is a team, Dave.
We're a team.

Speaker 1 (09:51):
We are.

Speaker 3 (09:54):
Be on the team to be supportive of your creator.
You just wear a pink suit. Why why does this
have to include me? You're the one. You're the one
that you wear were Pooka shells out loud? You have
a pair now too?

Speaker 1 (10:09):
I do?

Speaker 2 (10:09):
I mean on my neck? Right?

Speaker 3 (10:11):
Well, those Bookah shells would even fit around my wrist.
They were like size twenty. What size of neck do
you have? You don't even have a neck, you just
have shoulders and a head on. No, I think my
neck is seven. You gotta be pretty half for eighteen. Yeah, okay, yeah,
so we'll get that done. Ryan will pick and get

(10:34):
the suit. Go ahead, and buy it. Yeah, okay, yeah, good.
What what size are you? I'd be a forty four
long brokay yeah, okay, done that all recorded, forty six
regular maybe either one finding. So yeah, we're going to
let him tight, you know, let's go clearly forty four long.

Speaker 2 (10:50):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (10:50):
Are you gonna do with the way out the shirt
like he did? Where it just it's just the jacket.

Speaker 2 (10:54):
Yeah, it's the same look.

Speaker 1 (10:55):
Yeah, you got it. You gotta do it.

Speaker 3 (10:56):
No shirt, I didn't see there was no shirt showing
right now? Hold on, you have the front picture? Yeah,
showed you.

Speaker 1 (11:03):
I showed you the whole thing, minklas.

Speaker 2 (11:06):
Yeah, and then the bleach Land.

Speaker 1 (11:08):
Here, here's the here's the front.

Speaker 2 (11:10):
There you go right there. See.

Speaker 3 (11:12):
Oh I could pull that. That's a clean look. Very
you know I could pull that off. I think I
could pull that off.

Speaker 1 (11:18):
I like your point though about Joe Burrow. I love
to look on Dan's face. I want to I want
to be supportive. Yes, that's that's like guys that tell
me you know what, coach. I know I can run
four three And I'm like, okay, if you were supportive,
you would also get a similar.

Speaker 3 (11:36):
Supportive because I'm buying your suit, Like I'll wear a
blue and you were an orange one?

Speaker 2 (11:40):
Who else would buy you suits?

Speaker 1 (11:42):
Yeah? I like dumb and dumber? Did that right?

Speaker 2 (11:44):
Nobody's ever?

Speaker 1 (11:47):
Or you go like step brothers, you wearing the same
thing to the You know we can't do that, but
I'll buy you the suit. Listen, we'll pick the trip
and it's done.

Speaker 2 (11:56):
What else you got?

Speaker 1 (11:57):
What else you got? I I liked you back to
the original where we lost track off the road. I
did like your having ingram pick. That's what I did
not consider because I was prepared to talk about, Hey,
can bo Nicks put himself into the conversation of top
ten and what would that take? Like what kind of
season would he have to have? To Rick's point, I

(12:18):
think he.

Speaker 3 (12:19):
Would have to have a statistical year that would be
as good.

Speaker 2 (12:23):
Or better than last year. And the Broncos.

Speaker 3 (12:26):
I mean, if the Broncos wind up winning the West
and beat the Chiefs, it'd be the first time they
would have won the West since what twenty fifteen, I believe,
And he has the same kind of year or better
and they host a playoff game. Let's say they beat
somebody and get to the AFC Championship game. Then I

(12:47):
think you'd see bow knicks just because he would be more.
I mean, we will know him. We know him from
last year here in Denver. He's a good damn good
young player. But nationally maybe not as much. They don't
know him. But that kind of year that I just described,
this upcoming fall I think would propel a handful of

(13:07):
guys into the sort of consciousness from a national perspective,
and I think Bonix would be one of them.

Speaker 1 (13:14):
I think if he's going to leapfrog from what people
have him now, which is probably in the teens, maybe
the high teens, of what they think he's going to be,
if he's going to leapfrog into the top ten, it's
I mean nothing short of a four thousand passing yard season,
probably thirty passing touchdowns minimum, if we're going to leapfrog

(13:34):
into that, And to your point, you'd have to have
probably have a twelve win season.

Speaker 3 (13:39):
What if they win eleven, he has exactly the same
numbers he had last year, which would be a little
bit below three thousand yards, twenty eight touchdowns, and I
think twelve picks.

Speaker 2 (13:49):
Broncos win the West.

Speaker 3 (13:51):
They play the Bengals at home first round of the
playoffs beat them.

Speaker 2 (13:59):
To get to AFC Championship game.

Speaker 1 (14:01):
No, I think those are all great points. I think
that you'd have to have a bit of a depressed
season from some of the other top ten names, Like
some of those guys would have to have a bad
season for Bonix to leapfrog them, you know what I'm saying, Like,
if he has a similar output, people were gonna say, well,
that's great, but he didn't really take a step four.

Speaker 3 (14:19):
Like, There're gonna be some people that take a good, long,
hard look at Justin Herbert. True, and if the Chargers,
who was supposed to be good again, I think they
will be. You know, I'm a fan of Jim Harbas
and how he runs the team. But if they get
in again and they post a game or go somewhere
and they lose again, and Justin Herbert continues to be

(14:42):
winless in the playoffs in his career, There're gonna be
some people that say, wait a minute, I mean, how
good can this guy possibly be? He's six five two
forty rocket arm, he can run, he does everything. They
don't win a playoff game with him there, so that's
going to start creeping up. Yeah, and Dave with boon Knicks,

(15:02):
I could certainly see him popping into the top ten
if they have a year like that, and I think
the chances are he's going to have a little better
year than he had last year because of the weapons
he has. Now they didn't really have a running game
last year, they didn't have a tight end. Now they've
got that all figured out. I think this is going
to be a year and you got the coach quarterback combination.

(15:24):
I think there's going to be a year you see
bone Nicks continue to ascend. And if they have a
year like that, if they go to the AFC Championship game,
boon Nicks is a top ten quarterback.

Speaker 1 (15:33):
Somebody said Dray Greenlaw also could be a top ten
guy next year. That would be phenomenal.

Speaker 2 (15:37):
Yeah, would be awesome.

Speaker 1 (15:38):
They could stay healthy yet healthy season
