Speaker 1 (00:00):
All right, Devon. First of all, welcome to trading camp.
How's it going so far?
Speaker 2 (00:03):
It's going well, taking a day by day, so it's
been nice to be back out with the guys.
Speaker 1 (00:07):
How was your off season?
Speaker 2 (00:09):
It was good. I got to kind of relax a
little bit. Rookie season was a long season, so it's
nice to spend time with the family.
Speaker 3 (00:15):
Yeah, I was gonna say, I don't think people really
realize how different it is coming in for you rookie season,
because you get the pre draft process, gets the rookie
Mini caamp, and it just kind of keeps going.
Speaker 1 (00:24):
This is your first year of having a bit of
an offseason.
Speaker 3 (00:27):
So do you find yourself with having difficult things to
find and do or what did you end up doing.
Speaker 2 (00:32):
I was a lot of taking care of the body
and spending time with family. Nothing too crazy, just making
sure I take care of the mental as well before
we prepare for another season.
Speaker 3 (00:40):
That's good when you think about last year and had
a really good rookie season. Obviously you guys went to
the playoffs all those kinds of things. Is there any
moment that stands out to you, like when you think, like, hey,
what was the twenty four season, like, was there a
play a game, any of those kinds of things.
Speaker 2 (00:55):
Not necessarily. I felt like the whole season was It
was a blessing, you know, being with the guys in
helping this program kind of turn around and make it
to the playoffs. Obviously we wanted a better result, but
I feel like it's a right step moving forward and
we plan to build on it this year.
Speaker 1 (01:10):
What does that look like for you? What does it
look like for the offense to build on that?
Speaker 2 (01:14):
Just making sure we're being consistent, doing the little offense right,
making sure we're taking care of our jobs and not
worrying about somebody else's job, and just playing as a team.
And at the end of the day, you know, we're
just going to take a day by day, week by
week to make sure we put the right foot in
front of the other.
Speaker 1 (01:28):
Do you guys push each other in the wide receiver room?
Speaker 3 (01:30):
Oh?
Speaker 2 (01:30):
Yeah, absolutely. I mean, Courts a great leader. He's always
helping us, you know, understand what it takes to be
great here in this league, and it's helping the younger
guys out. Now that you know me and Schoy rookies anymore,
we're starting to step into that spotlight as well, trying
to help the younger guys. You don't understand the culture.
Speaker 1 (01:43):
Here's what's Pat Bryan been like so far.
Speaker 2 (01:46):
It's been awesome. Man. He's hungry to learn. He's always
come into work with the right mindset. You know, he's
going to bring a lot to this table and I'm
excited for it. Yeah.
Speaker 3 (01:53):
He seems like he's got a nice knack for finding space.
Something that you're also very good at. Is that an
instinctual thing? Is that coaching?
Speaker 1 (01:59):
What is that you know?
Speaker 2 (02:00):
I mean I feel like it comes with a lot
of training, a lot of repetition, and a lot of
a film study.
Speaker 3 (02:05):
Now for bo Nix in year two, I mean, certainly
as a wide receivers you got to do your best
just to sort of support him.
Speaker 1 (02:10):
But it seems like he's seeing things faster.
Speaker 3 (02:12):
How does that sort of help the offense in general
when you know that he's starting to kind of pick
things up a little bit faster and that that can
help you guys.
Speaker 2 (02:19):
Yeah, I mean, like I said, it's one of those
things like we just make sure we're doing our job.
We know that bow at the end of the days,
you know, to make sure he's doing the right thing.
He gives us the right reads, gives us the right play,
and we just make sure that we execute so we
give him the best list.
Speaker 1 (02:30):
You guys come into this year.
Speaker 3 (02:32):
Last year there was kind of I guess under the
radar a little bit of the best way to describe it.
This year, you guys are firmly on that radar. People
are talking about things that you guys can do. Do
you guys revel in that opportunity? Did you kind of
like the underdog roll a little bit? I mean again,
I don't know if that's something that you're used to
over and at Utah reason, I.
Speaker 2 (02:48):
Feel like all of those guys we have the same
mentality of we just keep it in house. We just
understand that, you know, there's always gonna be outside noise
whether it's good or bad. But at the end of
the day, we just got to make sure we take
care of the guys are you know, within this team,
to make sure we do the right things, doing film
study things like that and make sure we have a
successful season.
Speaker 3 (03:05):
Do you think that maybe this wide receiver room still
gets overlooked a little bit because I don't even know
if you pay attention to rankings or anything like that.
But yeah, you guys are still becoming household names at
this point.
Speaker 1 (03:15):
Do you guys think you are a little overlooked?
Speaker 2 (03:17):
You know, I don't want to comment too much on that.
Like I said, at the end of the day, we
understand that we just got to make sure we handle
our business. Obviously, we're not sitting on our bus not
doing anything. We're making sure we're working, getting in that
film room and make sure making sure we could do
the playmakers that boat needs when it comes Sunday.
