Speaker 1 (00:00):
Hello, Jordan. How has training camp gone so far? How
(00:02):
did the scrimmage go today?
Speaker 2 (00:04):
I think it's been going going very well for us.
You know, we all getting our feet under us about now,
and you know, trying to come out here and execute
every day and do what the coaches asked us to do.
So I feel like we've been doing that for the
most part.
Speaker 1 (00:16):
Based in the years that you've been in the league,
including now a couple of years with the Broncos. Where's
the offense at at this point? Do you guys? Do
you feel like you're on track for where you need
to be as far as learning the offense and getting
everything down.
Speaker 2 (00:28):
Definitely on track, but you know, we always got room
for growth, and so we're just gonna go out there
every day, continue to try to execute what the coaches
want us to do and try to be the best
offensive we can be this year.
Speaker 1 (00:40):
How does it change things for you when you have
a quarterback competition versus for sure, guy that's in there,
whether it's be like a Drew Brees or last year
with Russell Wilson, how does that change your job if
at all?
Speaker 2 (00:51):
I mean, it doesn't change anything. All those guys are
great quarterbacks, cable getting a job done, and just about
going out there and just being a great rode receiver
group for them, and so we can make their jobs easier,
you know what I mean.
Speaker 1 (01:04):
So, yeah, Sean has talked a lot about how he
likes size wide receivers, and certainly you're a great example
of that. What is it about this offense that specifically works
so well with size wide receivers in your opinion.
Speaker 2 (01:19):
I'm not sure. I feel like that's just his that's
his preference, you know what I mean, as a receiver,
and I feel like we got a lot of guys
who can do do it all. It doesn't matter about sizes,
run or beat the quicker guys, bigger guys. So I mean,
it's really I really feel like it just you got
to be smart and as long as you you know
what I mean, We've got a smart group of guys,
(01:41):
and that's what makes the offense really go.
Speaker 1 (01:43):
So, I mean, from an advantage standpoint, certainly, when you
get into some of some of those red zone drills,
I don't know, fifty to fifty balls, some of those
big shots. Do you sometimes even tell the quarterbacks, hey,
I am probably five six inches taller than the guy
covering me. Go aheadn't put it way up here.
Speaker 2 (01:58):
Uh no, not yet. But we're definitely getting that report
down with each other. Just like I said, we got
to keep coming out here and executing and making those
plays with them so we can build trust with them
so they can just throw it up to us sometimes.
Speaker 1 (02:11):
So, yeah, what are some expectations you have for the
season for yourself? Is it is as short as hey,
I want to be on the fifty three man roster.
Is is something more like, hey, I have specific catch
and or yardage expectations this year?
Speaker 2 (02:24):
I mean, yeah, I got a lot of personal goals,
but the biggest one is just making the fifty three
and then once we once if I get to do that,
if I make the fifty three, you know, it's just
being the best teammate I can possibly be to help
this team win games. And that's really that's pretty much
what I want to do.
Speaker 1 (02:45):
So the paths to that and the last couple here
for you, look, the path to that probably starts with
the preseason games. And again, you know what you have
to do out here in practices in training camp. But
what does it mean for you to get in the
preseason games and really get a chance to show out
and know that that really does matter quite a bit
in the assessment of you. Can you say that one
more time, well, just how much do you put value
(03:05):
do you put on yourself in the preseason games, knowing
that you need to go out there and put on
a good performance.
Speaker 2 (03:11):
I mean going out there, it's an interview, like just
like on this practice, feel it's an interview every day
and when we go out there's an interview for all
teams and all teams and so like you're just trying
to go out there and put your best foot forward
so you can end up staying with the team you
or like just know you put the best film out
there and you get another opportunity somewhere if it doesn't
(03:31):
work out where you at. So, yeah, it's a pretty
big performance day.
Speaker 1 (03:35):
You've got a lot of Saints coaches, former Saints coaches
out here, including now Pete Carmichael, who's out here you
of course having a lot of experience with the Saints before.
Does it feel like a Saints training camp to you?
Is that? Is that fair? Or is this a whole
new thing because it's the Broncos.
Speaker 2 (03:49):
I mean it's a whole new thing. I mean, we
got the same we got the same coaches, but like
it's different, you know what I mean. It's a different atmosphere,
different fans. You know, energy here is different with the younger,
younger team, So you gots, you got the ways of there,
but it's a different feel because it's different guys, you
know what I mean. So we're just kind of trying
to bring our own new thing, uh with with you
(04:11):
know what I mean, kind of that culture and added
on to that culture and so yeah, so it's kind
of it's a new feel.
Speaker 1 (04:17):
Honestly, do you think the Bronco is going to surprise
some people this year? Well, I mean some of the
expectations nationally are kind of pegged you guys where you're at.
Do you think this team is much better? Do you
think people should be looking out for you?
Speaker 2 (04:28):
I mean, I think you should just watch this on
Sunday you would definitely find out, you know what I mean.
Speaker 1 (04:32):
So yeah, thank you man, I appreciate it.
