Speaker 1 (00:00):
All right, we're a little about two weeks into camp.
How's it going for you so far?
Speaker 2 (00:04):
I'm going good. They're trying to learn as much as
I'm can from the bench.
Speaker 3 (00:08):
They've been doing a good I said, a good job
and just teaching me all the details and just supporting
me and making me be confident in what I do.
Speaker 1 (00:17):
Your confidence seems to be growing. Man. Your coverage out
there is really sticky. It's very impressive. But what kind
of feedback have you gotten from the coaches so far?
Speaker 3 (00:25):
Just basically keep being confident and keep just detailing all
the little things and keep just keep trying to get
better each and every day.
Speaker 1 (00:32):
All right. Would you say that your background as a
wide receiver, maybe even background as a quarterback, has that
helped you a little bit and now here at the
pro levels of the corner.
Speaker 3 (00:42):
Yes, at first I was kind of sick and guessing myself,
But at the end of the day, it's still a
football and the quarterbacks wanted to make the easiest past
for them, So I just feel like just trusting my
instincts in my background helping me a lot.
Speaker 1 (00:53):
Right now, do you find yourself sometimes like as you
said to like sort of guessing or second guessing when
you see a receiver route and you're like, oh, I
know that, I know what that's gonna look like, because again,
you wor wide receiver.
Speaker 3 (01:04):
For a long time sometimes, but in the league they
kind of do a route a little different than high school.
So I just have to keep my eyes, my eyes disciplined,
and just drive on the route that I see.
Speaker 1 (01:15):
You have a lot of siblings, eight right, eight siblings
are even gonna be at the game.
Speaker 3 (01:21):
I don't think they're gonna be at the Indianapolis game,
but I know they'll be at. I know some people's
coming for Green Bay and then hopefully if I make
the team. I know New Orleans my whole family fabbly
trying to call to that game.
Speaker 1 (01:35):
Well there you go. Yeah, I bet that would be
a really big one for them. So when it comes
to this upcoming preseason game against Indianapolis, what are some
of the things that you're hoping you could be able
to show out there that.
Speaker 3 (01:46):
I can do whatever this team needs me to do,
if that's playing inside or that's playing outside. Just keep
trying good defense. And if they need me to kids
plant side, do that. If they need me to run
on gun and I do that too.
Speaker 1 (02:01):
Jack of all trades, right, yea, anything anything you can
ask you? Do you like playing inside a little bit more?
I mean it seems like your your body type maybe
set up to be a slot, maybe a nickel. But
again it sounds like the coaching staff likes you on
the outside too.
Speaker 3 (02:13):
I really don't have a preference because I've played both
in my past, so whatever I learned, I I look
at both doing and play, so I have to know both.
Speaker 2 (02:22):
So I feel like I just can do whatever they
need me to do.
Speaker 1 (02:26):
Have you had a chance much to hang out with
some of the other dbs and uh, what kind of
relationship are you building with those guys?
Speaker 3 (02:32):
Yeah? I know in the screen we went out and
played basketball with each other stuff like that. But I
feel like all the DBS is close. We all got
a good relationship with each other. So if they like, well,
I say, like trying to teach me and some I
listen because I trust those guys.
Speaker 1 (02:48):
Who's got the best basketball game?
Speaker 2 (02:50):
Uh? I say me?
Speaker 1 (02:52):
Now there it is who talks the most noise?
Speaker 2 (02:55):
Mm pro probaly Mar Okay? Yeah does he?
Speaker 1 (02:59):
Okay? We just you know, aggressive quarterback from Pitt and
then of course coming out here, I could kind of
see that, I guess see that last couple here for you.
All right, So for you, you talked about like sort of,
you know, if when you make the team kind of thing,
what do you envision for your first year as a
pro football player, Like what when you pictured this opportunity
in your mind, I'm going to be a pro football player,
(03:20):
what did you hope it would look like?
Speaker 3 (03:22):
Really just finding my role on the team and helping
this team win games however they be.
Speaker 1 (03:27):
Yeah, okay, and so so special teams like all those
kinds of things.
Speaker 2 (03:31):
You're you're good with all it.
Speaker 1 (03:32):
Yeah, okay, when it comes to special teams, what have
you thought about the way the coaches are doing this
and specifically what have you thought of the kickoff rule
and how to much that's changed things?
Speaker 2 (03:41):
Well, I say the kickoff rule is good.
Speaker 3 (03:43):
I feel like it would be good because I know
it was like seventy back if in the all rules.
So it'll be more plays and a lot of opportunities
for folks to make plays on both sides.
Speaker 1 (03:54):
So you'd like maybe an opportunity to do a return
as well.
Speaker 2 (03:57):
If the coaches want me to be able return and
then I'll do that. But I just think of doing
whatever they need me to do.
Speaker 1 (04:03):
All right, last one here, so we're talking about your
relationship with the dvs Kwon McMillan. It's just turned himself
into one of the really good nickels in the league.
Is there anything you've been able to pick up from
his game stuff that maybe you can use.
Speaker 3 (04:17):
I feel like everything he do I always look at
it and just try to implate it into my game
because he played at this level before he played the season,
So how he stayed square and doing certain routes, how
he's leasing, and he's be as aggressive and he's not
the biggest.
Speaker 2 (04:33):
Guy, but he got a lot of heart.
Speaker 3 (04:35):
So I feel like I can implan anything he's going
into my game and.
Speaker 2 (04:38):
Make me do other to it.
Speaker 1 (04:39):
Awesome, Chris, appreciate you man.
Speaker 2 (04:41):
Thank you so much. Thank you
