Speaker 1 (00:00):
So the text light not very impressed with me right now.
(00:01):
So I'm doing my best to dig out of that.
Speaker 2 (00:04):
You know, some people have sort of jumped to your defense.
Speaker 1 (00:07):
A couple of people, Yeah, a couple of people, and
probably family members, I imagine mostly mostly family members. Listen, hey, listen.
Ryan makes a lot of mistakes. He means, well, hitting
that I did like.
Speaker 3 (00:19):
This one.
Speaker 4 (00:19):
That's like, I don't I don't know if that would
if you'd want to hang your shingle on that comment.
Speaker 5 (00:27):
Really not particularly, No, I mean that's it sounded better
in my head.
Speaker 4 (00:31):
Yeah, that's a little yellow bushes comment, a little l ol.
Speaker 1 (00:37):
Every time Dave talks to or about Riot, he sounds
like a disappointed father.
Speaker 4 (00:43):
No, I'm just I'm concerned about him, that's it. Yeah,
because flannel, long jeans, ninety five degrees, cars, perfect shape.
I'm not even gonna get into it anymore because when
I do, I'm like, what the hell is he thinking about?
Speaker 2 (00:54):
What? What?
Speaker 4 (00:56):
What the actual I mean, seriously, what could possess you
to walk a mile each direction when your car works
and his ninety eight degrees and you're wearing flannel in
long pants. There's just not an acceptable answer.
Speaker 1 (01:13):
Wonders never ceased. Two yeah exists or whatever. But yeah,
I don't even know what the sun is. Glad you mad, Yeah, thank.
Speaker 3 (01:19):
You me too.
Speaker 1 (01:21):
So you have a chance to obviously interview the coach
and the quarterback before the game on the pregame, and
we'll of course have full interviews coming up on Saturday.
Our cover starts at three o'clock, pregame starts at four thirty,
walk up to kick off at six thirty. Don't forget
to stick around for the post game all the way
till midnight. But we played a cut earlier from coach
Peyton when he was talking about why he mentioned Super
(01:42):
Bowl aspirations to Yahoo. You also talked to bow and
this was a fantastic answer on off season improvements, This
was great.
Speaker 6 (01:51):
Well, I wanted to get back to throwing the ball
efficiently and throwing the ball with a with a better release.
So I got back to having a little bit quicker release.
I trained that this offseason just over time college first
year thinking a lot, you get slow feed, you get
kind of a longer developing release, and so I wanted
to tighten it back down and get my feet going again.
(02:11):
And so I've just been you know, fast feed equals
fast release, So I was just worrying about get my
release timing a little faster, and so we trained a
little bit of that this offseason and I feel really
good actually where I'm at going into the season. I
feel strong, I feel quick, bo and I we've been
training a lot and you know, this offseason season bow
lowry and so we've been you know, doing a lot
(02:32):
with that, a lot of I wouldn't say newer techniques
and newer things, just kind of using different drills to
help me with my quick release. So that's been good,
and that's something that we've focused on this offseason.
Speaker 1 (02:44):
Great answer, and honestly, that's that's something we tend to ask,
especially second year players, like what did you work on
because most of the time it is such a whirlwind
from the pre draft process, well right after college, the
pre draft process, you get drafted, you head out to
your team.
Speaker 3 (02:59):
You really don't have much downtime.
Speaker 1 (03:01):
Right in the entire process of your rookie season, there's
not much downtime. But then all of a sudden, your
second year, well you got it. You got all the space, yeah,
to fill it with something. And so we always wonder
what they're working on.
Speaker 2 (03:12):
Though.
Speaker 3 (03:12):
It was a great answer, man.
Speaker 4 (03:13):
Yeah, I was impressed that that he so quickly was
able to identify exactly one of the things that he
worked on, and it made a.
Speaker 2 (03:22):
Lot of sense.
Speaker 4 (03:23):
With respect to college, sometimes you're I mean, the college
game is faster than the high school game, but not
nearly as fast as the NFL, so you can and
he played in college for a long time, so you
can start to figure it out. And I think you
can get almost say lazy, but you can get into
(03:44):
some bad habits because you're smart, you study film.
Speaker 2 (03:50):
You can always find the.
Speaker 4 (03:51):
Player or players in the back end of most defenses
that you can go after. And you can get away
with being a little bit late with the fall with
the or a little bit long in your delivery because
you're just better than they are. So in the NFL
much much harder to do. So I think, you know,
he's a smart kid, and what I like about him,
(04:13):
I like a lot about him.
Speaker 2 (04:14):
But he's a worker. He's a guy that he works.
Speaker 4 (04:18):
He's not satisfied with the kind of season he had
last year, so I'm really excited about what can happen
this year.
Speaker 1 (04:25):
You and Sean as Sean is out there saying he
could be a top five quarterback in the league. I
was thinking about this in terms of if Bow repeats
the season that he did last year or even maybe
a little bit better, which, of course we're all rooting for. Well,
let's just say for argument that it's around the same numbers.
Would he crack the top five quarterbacks and franchise history already.
Speaker 4 (04:49):
The top five Bronco quarterbacks? Yes, if he has the
same sort of season.
Speaker 1 (04:54):
Yeah, so thirty or so passing touchdowns, maybe close to
four thousand passing yards.
Speaker 4 (04:59):
Well, let me ask you, okay, Elway Manning, who are
the other three right now all time Bronco quarterbacks.
Speaker 1 (05:07):
Well, I I'd say kind of in no particular order.
I think Jake Plumber probably needs to be in that conversation.
I feel like Jake Cutler should be, but maybe there's
some recency, Like I.
Speaker 4 (05:19):
I really thought Jay Cutler was. Would you take Jake
Cutler over Brian Greasy? I would not. I'm just gonna, okay,
look at Witness.
Speaker 1 (05:27):
Okay, Yeah, they're they're kind of close. I just think
we get we get the top two, maybe even top three.
Let's just put Plumber three just for for auguments sake,
and then I think that the other two are maybe
a little bit interchangeable for for everybody. I wonder where
like Marlon Briscoe or Frank Trapuka, who's of course in
the Ring of Fame, Like.
Speaker 4 (05:46):
But we're in an ali Yeah, Charlie Johnson was the
starting quarterbacks first year of the Broncos, had a winning season.
Speaker 1 (05:56):
But I feel like if if you can repeat those
and they let's just say they win a playoff game, right,
that's the we say baseline of this season. I know
they're talking super Bowl baseline for a lot of people
out there is take what you did last year, build
on it, which would include winning a playoff game, maybe.
Speaker 3 (06:13):
Even win the division. I feel like he's in that conversation.
Speaker 1 (06:16):
I feel like we're already in the sort of top
five quarterback conversation. Maybe that says a lot about the quarterbacks,
but I feel like he has a chance to be
there if he just kind of does what he did
this last year.
Speaker 3 (06:28):
Is that silly, No, I don't think it's silly.
Speaker 4 (06:32):
When you stopped and when you first said it, I'm like, wow,
I mean, these guys have been around since nineteen sixty
but no, I think if he had the same kind
of season, I think you could make a case. I think,
you know, he'd be close even if he wasn't in
the top five. Lway Manning Ja then I think Greasy.
Speaker 3 (07:01):
And then maybe Color or would you go Color was.
Speaker 2 (07:05):
An unbelievably talented quarterback.
Speaker 3 (07:08):
Sure they didn't win a playoff game with Color.
Speaker 2 (07:12):
I might go Craig Morton.
Speaker 3 (07:14):
Yeah, right, that's another name.
Speaker 4 (07:15):
Morton was the quarterback. Sure, not a great offensive team.
That was the first first Broncos team went to the
Super Bowl. That was back in whatever January of seventy eight.
I would have to, just from a Broncos historical standpoint,
I would have to put Morton there.
Speaker 2 (07:36):
Before Color.
Speaker 4 (07:38):
Color had unreal talent and had some really big games.
It wasn't here. How many years was he here before
Josh got rid of him.
Speaker 3 (07:49):
Yeah, that's a good question here, I'll tell you.
Speaker 2 (07:51):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (07:52):
My thought was three when I first was six to eight. Yeah, three, yep.
So yeah, I would take Morton again. From an historical perspective,
I think he was he was more important.
Speaker 2 (08:10):
He got out of a.
Speaker 4 (08:11):
Hospital bed to play in the playoffs when nobody thought
he was going to be able to play.
Speaker 3 (08:16):
What kind of career would Bonix have to have?
Speaker 1 (08:19):
Just every I'm having fun here because we're all in
optimism state with the Broncos because it looks like a
really fun team and certainly there's a lot of belief
that Bonicks could can do some really good things. What
kind of career would he have to have to supplant
number three to supplant Jake like this year, not this year,
but just like like or as we're expanding out, he's
(08:40):
got to.
Speaker 2 (08:40):
Do what everybody hopes he does. Yeah, what Sean thinks
he can do.
Speaker 4 (08:43):
He's got to he's got to play uh smart football.
He's got to play good football, and he's got to
be the leader of this team has looked for and.
Speaker 2 (08:52):
He's got to.
Speaker 4 (08:53):
He's got to take his franchise deep into the playoffs
and you know, eventually, if you're gonna if you're gonna
bump number three. Number three I think is an underrated
Broncos quarterback. I mean, I think Jake Plumber was much
better than a lot of people give him credit for.
He was three to six, three to doh six, so
(09:13):
he's a four year guy. But I mean, if you
take if you're bon Nicks and at any point you
are the quarterback of the Broncos team that goes to
the super Bowl. There's only you know, the top two
guys have done that, and Craig Morton has done that,
and that's it, right Am, I Am I missing anybody else?
Speaker 2 (09:29):
I think it's it.
Speaker 4 (09:29):
There's been three quarterbacks says nineteen sixty that have been
the quarterback of record for a Broncos team that year
going to the super Bowl.
Speaker 1 (09:37):
So in this first four years of his career, he's
in that he somehow navigates this team to.
Speaker 4 (09:43):
The super Bowl. I think he has to. I think
he has to be in the top three. Yeah, I
think so, don't you?
Speaker 2 (09:48):
I do?
Speaker 3 (09:48):
I do.
Speaker 1 (09:49):
I was as I was doing this exercise, I had
a really hard.
Speaker 2 (09:52):
To ch on the walk. I mean, was this part
of the Was this part of how you passed time?
Speaker 3 (09:58):
Adam? Yeah, I was sweating so much.
Speaker 1 (10:01):
I started to think about, like I'm prepping for this show, like, hey,
what would it look like if bow Nix was the
third best quarterback, maybe second, maybe even the.
Speaker 3 (10:09):
Best quarterback in history? What that need? What that have
to look like?
Speaker 1 (10:14):
And then I thought I thought it sounded good in
my head, and so I brought it to the show.
I have a tougher time seeing him supplant two or one.
And it's not to say that he can't, but I
mean we're talking about some people say Peyton Manning is
the greatest of all time, and he only played four
years here in Denver, but it's what he represents as
(10:37):
as the type of quarterback that he was. And then
of course John, it's it's John Elway. It's it's a
lot more than just his playing. He was also a
really successful GM for this franchise too, So I think
that one takes a lot more imagination than three. And
I love Jake Plummer. We have him on the show.
He's great.
Speaker 3 (10:58):
I could see that one happening.
Speaker 1 (11:00):
But I think for the fans to supplant two or
to plant one, I mean an that's an all time run.
Speaker 3 (11:07):
He does have like a Patrick Mahomes kind of run.
Speaker 4 (11:10):
You're talking about two iconic quarterbacks, not only for the Broncos.
I mean, John played his entire sixteen year career here
and Peyton was great in his time here. Both won
Super Bowls here in Denver. But you're talking about two
of the greatest quarterbacks.
Speaker 2 (11:26):
In the history of the game exactly.
Speaker 4 (11:28):
So that's a that's a different conversation, different category.
Speaker 2 (11:38):
I mean, I think look at it this way.
Speaker 4 (11:42):
If you talk to people in Buffalo, like people in
their thirties as well as people in their sixties, do
you think people would say, who's the number one quarterback
in Buffalo Bill's history? Is it Josh Allen or would
it be Jim Kelly? Oh what a great question.
Speaker 1 (12:03):
Wow, Well it's got to be Jim Kelly because took
four Super Bowls with him.
Speaker 2 (12:07):
I think it would be Jim Kelly.
Speaker 4 (12:09):
I mean, I think Josh Allen is one of the
most talented quarterbacks that we've seen in the NFL.
Speaker 2 (12:17):
But Jim Kelly was the quarterback of record four.
Speaker 4 (12:20):
I mean, I know they lost the four consecutive years
they've gone or they went to the Super Bowl. I
don't think that's ever been done in league history four since.
Speaker 1 (12:30):
So yeah, it had to be Jim Kelly, even if
you weren't alive for some of that, because we are
entering kind of an era here where people were born
in the two thousands, they didn't get to see any
of that. They only know, like for example, John Elway
as a GM I know, right, we're talking to people
right now listening that didn't know John Elway is a quarterback.
Speaker 2 (12:50):
Understandable, but it is frightening.
Speaker 1 (12:53):
Nonetheless, well, I mean again, you know, I was born
in the eighties, but my my more recent memory if
John Madden was not as a coach, who was as
the game, Like I my introduction to him was the
game and then I was like, oh, that's right, he
was a coach, but I knew him as a commentator
and then the game and I was like that that's
my John Madden experience. But yeah, it's kind of weird
(13:13):
to think about that in terms of what Jim Kelly
was and then beginning it's the sort of era discussions.
Did you get a chance to watch any of The
Hard Knocks first episode?
Speaker 3 (13:22):
Yeah, it was. It was good. I think it's always good.
Speaker 1 (13:27):
The way the fan based revers Josh Allen. It's so
special to watch that and he's such an easy guy
to root for, But just to watch the kids out
there and the dads, and they did a good job
sort of showing, you know, people walking into camp, fathers
and sons and daughters and they're all wearing Josh Allen gear.
(13:48):
I thought that was cool. It didn't make me miss
and even though I didn't get to cover it. But
I've heard enough from people that didn't cover the team,
including yourself, about the Greeley days of going to camp
and actually going somewhere, and the team going somewhere because
Buffalo is I think one of what like five teams
that still goes somewhere else for training camp. They don't
do it right there at their stadium or in Buffalo.
Speaker 4 (14:10):
You know why, because it's in Buffalo.
Speaker 2 (14:18):
Yes, that's why they go to the don't want to
get the hell up out of there, at least for
you know, a month.
Speaker 3 (14:24):
Well, what's what's the wrong about Buffalo?
Speaker 4 (14:26):
I mean, I actually, I actually I don't hate Buffalo.
I mean I went in Cleveland my entire my entire
career except for when I got traded to hear so
Buffalo A. Buffalo is a great football town now, the
town itself, and Reckon and I were talking about the
Susie too when we went back for the playoff game.
Walked around the day before the game, My goodness, I
(14:49):
mean downtown Buffalo. There are large sections of downtown Buffalo
that are basically shuttered and it's it's it's sad to see,
but they love they I mean, that's a football town.
They love the Bills. They started, you know, professional football.
(15:10):
I believe the same year that that the Broncos did
back in nineteen sixties. So, and they were they were
really good back in the old AFL. What other teams
don't train in the city. You said there was three
or four Steelers. Steelers are one?
Speaker 3 (15:26):
Hey, I to look up.
Speaker 1 (15:26):
They said, yeah, I'll look it up because they said
it on the Hard Knocks they said they were one
of five teams that don't do it.
Speaker 3 (15:34):
I just I just didn't know off the top of
my head.
Speaker 1 (15:36):
Very quickly on the text line, a couple of people
we responding and they said, if Nix is going to
be in the conversation of best quarterback in franchise.
Speaker 3 (15:41):
History, it's a minimum of three Super Bowl wins.
Speaker 2 (15:43):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (15:44):
I think I think if you get to three Super
Bowl wins with bo Nick niggas we're dreaming, then yeah, I.
Speaker 4 (15:49):
Think we were talking about would you be in the
top three if he took his team to the Super Bowl.
Speaker 1 (15:54):
And I think that as a starting point, Yeah, that
puts him in the conversation because Plumber took him to
the AFC Championship.
Speaker 2 (16:01):
Well, yeah he did, that's right.
Speaker 1 (16:02):
With the Steevers they lost, So yeah, they lost the
AFC Championship game. So that would be that would be
the one, right, you get further than Jake Plumber. Certainly
you believe Bonix is going to be here longer than
four years. Jake only got four years. Peyton only got
four years. But Peyton represents a little bit more because
of what his entire career was.
Speaker 3 (16:22):
Somebody said Tebow, Yeah.
Speaker 1 (16:23):
Listen, I would love to put Tebow because I am
such a big fan of what sports talk radio was
when Tim Tebow was the quarterback. But I wasn't gonna
do that because I've I've already gotten hot enough water
with my flannel and walk into the grocery store thing.
I think if I decided to come back from break
and say you five quarterback.
Speaker 4 (16:41):
Don't be fearful of that, because that, I mean, that's
simply an opinion in one that you could make an
argument for and try to justify.
Speaker 2 (16:50):
The the jaunt for two miles.
Speaker 4 (16:54):
Today to pick to pick up you know, sour cream
and whatever ice cream.
Speaker 2 (17:00):
Even then, what Spaghettios, Spaghettio's.
Speaker 3 (17:03):
And cream cheese.
Speaker 4 (17:04):
I mean, it's just, I think for for our audience,
as reasonable as they are, it's just it's puzzling.
Speaker 1 (17:10):
It's a little puzzling. TiVo was fun though, was fun. Yeah,
it's a Denver's football. First snap of overtime, we were
tied at twenty three. Elina scrimmage. The Bronco twenty shotgun
for Tim Tebow. Short motion is that he Royal tam
playfakes in the pocket, sets throws past.
Speaker 3 (17:27):
Talk to Marys Thomas over the forty five nig deal.
Speaker 1 (17:29):
Here we go forty thirty five foot race twenty fifteen
ten touchdown, Denver's over.
Speaker 2 (17:37):
It's over at Denver. On the All Time Calls, I
still love Brian Greasi's laugh.
Speaker 4 (17:43):
That is a laugh full of incredulity, Like you gotta
be kidding me, seriously, do you know.
Speaker 1 (17:50):
My favorite part of that call is I don't think
I've ever told you my favorite part of the call.
Of course, the ending is spectacular, the flourish of all
of it. But the playface.
Speaker 2 (17:59):
Oh, I was shocked.
Speaker 4 (18:01):
We talked about Brian and I talked about it during
the break and I said, hey, they've got to be
able to knock out a couple first downs and at
worst punted all all the way down to the other end,
because they really, you know, the Broncos had not done
they They had they had a few big plays in
that game, but they hadn't done a lot on offense.
(18:22):
And I'm thinking, damn, they get the ball first on
the twenty and sure enough, I know, like what is
he doing?
Speaker 5 (18:32):
That was?
Speaker 3 (18:32):
That was the best you got that grant really quick?
Just not play fakes him, playfakes in the pockets.
Speaker 1 (18:42):
So great, All right, my friend, I know you gotta
you gotta get out of here because you're and you're
gonna be traveling yep, tomorrow.
Speaker 4 (18:48):
Leaving in the morning, heading to the Bay Area, catch
up with the Broncos, and then uh, I will talk
to you Saturday night.
Speaker 3 (18:54):
Looking forward to it, my friend. We'll come back here
on ka.
Speaker 1 (19:02):
All right, hang it out with me for a few
minutes here before Broncos country tonight.
Speaker 5 (19:06):
Hy Ben who still walks into the grocery store and
doesn't them delivered like a poor Well, some people they
want exercise. I mean, you can exercise on your own,
but at your exercise walking up and down the grocery aisles.
Speaker 1 (19:18):
Well, walking to the mile to the grocery store at
a mile back was my uphill both ways, obviously.
Speaker 3 (19:24):
Okay, yeah, but I did it in this and Dave
was crushing me.
Speaker 5 (19:28):
Yeah, but as you know, the santage of people coming
to my defense in the text line very quickly.
Speaker 3 (19:32):
Here, Ryan, I give you a lot of crap.
Speaker 1 (19:34):
But I walked one point nine miles this afternoon mowing
our half acre picnic area for my daughters going away
to see you party Saturday, girl dad stuff.
Speaker 2 (19:41):
There you go.
Speaker 1 (19:42):
Yeah, because my girls asked me to go get them
some spaghettios and cream cheese, and I said, okay, I'll
go do That's like an odd combo. Well, each kid
wanted something different. So the youliest one of the spaghettio's
the oldest one of the cream cheese.
Speaker 2 (19:53):
Yeah, that's disgusting.
Speaker 3 (19:54):
I'm not gonna lie in defensive Ryan, I get it.
Speaker 1 (19:57):
In fact, prior to some challenges I had coming up
this summer, after eternal cold weather at home in Woodland Park,
I went to Pueblo on a Sunday and it hit
eighty I overdressed and power walked four hours round Pueblo.
Speaker 5 (20:09):
WHOA, don't that wrong with walking? I mean, you know,
I get in a good three miles a day, but
I don't know, I'm not. I just of course she's delivered.
Speaker 1 (20:15):
Now.
Speaker 5 (20:15):
I don't like walking back and forth to the car
the multiple bags.
Speaker 3 (20:19):
Yeah, you don't look like somebody that does that.
Speaker 2 (20:20):
They get annoyed.
Speaker 5 (20:21):
I mean, if it's not if I can't do it
in one trip, like I'll see the guy with thirty
bags in one trip.
Speaker 3 (20:25):
I can't do it in one trip. It's not worth
doing well that part. I'm actually on the same page
with you, and I did walk back with all of it.
But yeah, I already know videos and cream jag, yes,
all of it.
Speaker 2 (20:34):
All of it.
Speaker 3 (20:36):
The one thing I learned about Ben. And we'll get
to a couple of texts here and again.
Speaker 1 (20:40):
By the way, Anthony Richardson got rock wrecked, and he is.
He's out of this game probably for the rest of
the way. They're saying maybe a finger issue. So even though.
Speaker 5 (20:50):
And somebody tweeted out that he got a blindside hit,
No it's on the front side.
Speaker 2 (20:53):
It was.
Speaker 5 (20:53):
I mean, yeah, he just flat out didn't see the
rusher coming, right, He didn't realize that the back to
the flat and he was hot.
Speaker 3 (21:01):
Yeah, not great.
Speaker 1 (21:02):
But I learned early on in our friendship that you
were not the walking type as we were at the
Seper Bowl.
Speaker 2 (21:09):
Yeah didn't. I didn't.
Speaker 3 (21:10):
I get an uber to go one block.
Speaker 1 (21:11):
Yes, yes, we could see the bar from across the way,
and I said, it was maybe less than a five
minute walk.
Speaker 2 (21:19):
That was so bad.
Speaker 3 (21:20):
And it was a nice night. It was nice. It
was like not even like sheet of the day. It
was it was an evening. It was well lit, maybe
a five minute walk across the quad.
Speaker 1 (21:29):
And you because like you're gonna tip me right, you
ordered an uber to drive around to the park to
go to the bar. I was like, you're you're not gonna.
I've never can convince you that we should be walking anywhere.
I walk from my workouse. I don't want to get
sweaty before.
Speaker 3 (21:44):
I go to the bar. It was a block, it
was like blocks, but still then it was a block.
Speaker 2 (21:53):
It's two blocks.
Speaker 3 (21:54):
Also, I, in fairness to this story, which makes me
sound one way.
Speaker 5 (21:58):
In fairness to the story, I typed in the wrong thing,
and so I ordered the uber because I thought it
was further away. That's the real story, but the other
one sounds better.
Speaker 1 (22:06):
Yeah, but I told you before you order the uber.
I was like, I think it's right there. I think
we're literally walking there at.
Speaker 2 (22:13):
That point, ID already ordered it.
Speaker 1 (22:14):
So he says the best part of Dave Logan's calling
the Tim Tebow to Marus Thomas touchdown, in my opinion,
is this phrase, here we go. Well, I'll say forever
as as a massive fan of Dave Logan that here
we go is some of the best stuff that ever
happens in the Bronx. Rump was broadcast. As soon as
he says here we go, you get amped. It's it's
like drinking a monster drink in five seconds.
Speaker 2 (22:39):
Here we go.
Speaker 1 (22:40):
Yeah, that's what it feels like. It's immediately joled. So
now that is the best part. I mean, the whole
thing is great. I just loved his like playfake when
he's talking about Tim Tebow to the marrious time.
Speaker 3 (22:50):
He's like playfake, going like surprised, because I think everybody was.
I think we all were.
Speaker 2 (22:55):
YEA was yeah. Yeah.
Speaker 1 (22:56):
So and somebody says it's an arm injury for Anthony Richardson,
which again we were talking about a litt but earlier
that Anthony Richardson and Daniel Jones. Dave says he'd rather
see Anthony Richardson for instead of Daniel Jones for week two,
like if he added his way.
Speaker 5 (23:12):
Well, I mean you would rather see that because he
needs the reps. But the reality is Daniel Jones was
always going to win this competition. Now he's just gonna
get it by default.
Speaker 1 (23:19):
No, he just thinks it's a better it's a better
matchup for the Broncos to see Anthony Richardson. Yeah, we
would rather. We would all rather see Anthony Richardson. I mean,
not the worst care to either one. Yeah, I think
I'd rather see Daniel Jones. I'll return touchdown there for
the Ravens. Yeah, it's nice to have football back. Hey,
listen on Thursday.
Speaker 5 (23:38):
Night bringing out in Judio watching football.
Speaker 3 (23:40):
This is great. The Ravens money line was the easiest
bet of the night. You know, I thank you for
not letting me down.
Speaker 1 (23:46):
I appreciate that you're betting on pre season football like
a complete degeneration. The Ravens were plus six and a
half by the way tick the money line. I was like,
this is gonna be this is the easiest bet all
the night gambling problem caller ticks a gimbler.
Speaker 3 (24:01):
Thank you great, And that's before Anthony Richardson went down.
Speaker 1 (24:04):
You're betting preseason games, Well, we do have a preseason
game coming up here for showing the money, yeah.
Speaker 3 (24:09):
Okay, but that's different because you know, oh, you don't
met your show me the money picks. I don't, Oh
I do. I don't have a gambling problem.
Speaker 5 (24:17):
I feel like I'm ethically obligated if I'm telling people
this is what we should wager on.
Speaker 1 (24:21):
I'm ows six on the week. I don't have the
money to do these kinds of things. I'm really away six.
Speaker 3 (24:29):
I'm trying to well. But I was explained today earlier.
Speaker 1 (24:32):
Part of the mistake that I made, it is a
critical mistake on my own part is I started chasing
on Tuesday.
Speaker 3 (24:38):
I went in to and I panicked, and the panic chase. Well,
then I'm chasing again on Wednesday.
Speaker 5 (24:43):
Quicksand man it is quicksand And now I got a
stacks and sorted out. On Friday, I am free of chasing.
I'm out of them. I mean, you're out of it,
so you can't say now, I just will. I like
the whole thing I'm gonna go consensus the rest of
the lay just to avoid the donuts straight chaw. Yes,
watch watch him still, watch him still fumble the bag
(25:03):
on this one.
Speaker 1 (25:04):
Somebody else says, I'm totally like them when it comes
to grocery shopping.
Speaker 3 (25:07):
I've never done that. I've never ordered to go delivery groceries.
Is that a good deal? I mean, yeah, I like I.
Speaker 5 (25:14):
I just are you talking about going and picking them
up in the car? I haven't delivered to my place?
Like I don't even I didn't go to the grocery
store anymore very often. It's just it's just easier that way.
Speaker 3 (25:23):
Are you that much of an elitist?
Speaker 5 (25:25):
No, it's it's really like, there's not a convenient grocery store,
and for where I have to park and walk the
stuff up, it's it's a it's just an annoyance.
Speaker 1 (25:34):
By the way, the part return touchdown was le Jonte Wester,
So I make somebody else carry it. Nice to see
former CEEU wide receivers some run there. Yeah, that was
one of your favorite guys too.
Speaker 2 (25:44):
He was a good, good player. Underrated.
Speaker 1 (25:46):
Somebody says, why is there a debate of the greatest
Broncos quarterback, it's always.
Speaker 3 (25:49):
Hands down and Manning. No, I don't think we were
debating that.
Speaker 1 (25:51):
I was more asking the question if if Bonix repeats
or has similar productivities he did his rookie year in
the second year, will he already be in the conversation
at the top five quarterbacks of the team. And then
I asked, in the next four years, which is what
we saw out of Well, Jake Keller did three, but
we saw four years out of Jake Plumber. If he
(26:13):
gets this team to Shawn Standard to a super Bowl,
would he be in the top three. I said nothing
about him being two or one, because I think that
there's a long way to go a those Manning, Morton, Plumber, Greasy.
Speaker 3 (26:27):
Oh you have Morton three?
Speaker 2 (26:28):
Huh yeah?
Speaker 1 (26:28):
Interesting, Okay, both Dave and I thought Plumber three, but
I would I mean, I get it.
Speaker 3 (26:32):
The three four is the argument with Plumber.
Speaker 5 (26:34):
With Morton and Plumber and I just gave a slight
edge to the Morton and then Greasy five.
Speaker 3 (26:38):
I mean that's the top five. There is no debate
on that A lot. I don't have a lot of
here any keybo nerds.
Speaker 5 (26:46):
Oh well, we had some fun, so I Charlie Johnson
was a better quarterback for the Broncos than TBO.
Speaker 3 (26:51):
I brought a tip bo but for fun. I wasn't
being serious about it. I brought I brought it up
his fun.
Speaker 5 (26:58):
Steve Ramsey would a better Broncos quarterback than Tim Tebow.
Speaker 3 (27:02):
Trevor Shibion. Well, I don't want to go that far. Yeoh,
that might be a bridge. That's too bold.
Speaker 1 (27:08):
Kyle Orton, Yeah, the neck beard, mister Prius. Yeah, that
he probably was. He probably was by the way.
Speaker 5 (27:16):
You know profotball references like career adjusted value number, you
know where they boil everything down to one number for
every position and kind of rank them. Did you know
that Russell Wilson's Broncos tenure and Nick Ferguson's Broncos tenure
tied that number?
Speaker 3 (27:30):
Oh, I can't Wastelly comes back. Can you tell him
that his head I've been holding that one. Yeah, no doubt.
All right, we'll come back with show me the money.
Speaker 1 (27:38):

Speaker 5 (28:17):
Do you know what's coming up on your show? A
few things come up on our show. Hey, we had
a comedian that was supposed to be on yesterday, Yeah, earthquake.
He's going to be on right there at top top.
They are there before he goes on to do a
show tonight. He's doing a show tonight seven thirty deever improv.
He's coming on this show before he does it. We
have Rick Lewis going to be on this show. Is
that a question mark?
Speaker 3 (28:37):
No?
Speaker 5 (28:38):
At six thirty five rick Lewis, We'll be on the show.
Britmastis is going to be on as well. He's going
on input from Zach Segers and one Grant Smith as well.
Speaker 2 (28:46):
Okay, what do we have?
Speaker 5 (28:49):
We have Parker Gabriel Parker Gabriel, Yeah, as well out
there at practice in San Francisco.
Speaker 3 (28:54):
Yeah, what are so many guests?
Speaker 2 (28:55):
You know? I forgot one. Yeah.
Speaker 1 (28:57):
Well, I mean if you're booking him, then I can
understand how you would forget.
Speaker 3 (29:02):
All that work I put on.
Speaker 1 (29:03):
That's a lot of prep. Listen, I'm surprised you're upright
at this very moment. That's a lot of prep for one.
Speaker 4 (29:09):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (29:10):
I mean, you know, it's just when you when you
work as hard as I do, eight hours of material
every Daybly.
Speaker 1 (29:18):
What did you take away from the reports? I loved
your tweet that you sent out about people reaching out
to you. Yeah, from out of practice seeing the Broncos
defense is legit.
Speaker 4 (29:29):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (29:29):
I had some some forty nine ers beat guys, a
couple of a couple of assistant coaches out there reach
out and they were absolutely loving the Broncos defense out
there against the Niners.
Speaker 3 (29:37):
You know, said it was a Super Bowl caliber defense.
They couldn't you know.
Speaker 5 (29:40):
One of the coaches was like, well, you've got three
starters that aren't even aren't even practicing, and we can't
do anything until we got, you know, to the script
where our guys knew what was coming on defense and
then started.
Speaker 2 (29:50):
To open it up.
Speaker 3 (29:50):
So yeah, it's it.
Speaker 5 (29:53):
It's tough to follow along from second and third hand accounts.
Speaker 1 (29:58):
I appreciate our b and I thought they did a
wonderful job trying to describe things. We had Susie Warden
on her She did a really good job as well
describing things. But it is a little tough because you're
you can't really watch everything, right you have you have
the offense and defense on separate fields going at the
same time, and you had to you have to choose.
Speaker 3 (30:14):
I mean, next week we'll have the Cardinals in town.
I want to choose.
Speaker 5 (30:17):
Hey, am I going to watch bon Nick or am
I going to go over there and watch the defense? Well,
And it's fascinating because the differing accounts and opinions. I
thought to somebody, you know, Johnnie Baron gave a touchdown.
One one person made it seem like he got roasted
for a touchdown when the reality, according to a Niners
assistant coach, is that he was in he was in phase.
They were there and it was a fifty to fifty
ball and the receiver just got it. So we had
(30:37):
somebody out here tweet and that Sir Tan got burned
for a touchdowns or tannent.
Speaker 3 (30:40):
Even on the field, it was it was pretchy, you know.
Speaker 1 (30:44):
But those things catch on like wildfire all of a sudden,
and everybody's like, oh, Sir Tan's getting roasted out there,
and it's like, oh, that's that's not what's happening.
Speaker 3 (30:52):
Didn't have his helmet on.
Speaker 1 (30:53):
He did.
Speaker 3 (30:53):
He did give up.
Speaker 1 (30:54):
According to consensus, he didn't give up a catch to
George Kittle on the side.
Speaker 3 (30:58):
Let me again, it's George flipp and kill. I mean,
he's one of the best in the league. It happens
to practice sometimes.
Speaker 1 (31:02):
Yeah, and he's gonna listen, it's gonna shock everybody, but
passer Tan is gonna give up a couple of catches
this year.
Speaker 3 (31:08):
Just throwing that out there.
Speaker 2 (31:09):
It'll happen.
Speaker 3 (31:10):
At some point, someone will catch a ball on him.
Speaker 2 (31:12):
It'll happen.
Speaker 1 (31:12):
Yeah, And you know, former Defensive Player of the Year.
There's gonna be some quarterbacks and teams that are gonna say,
you know, we're not afraid of you, We're gonna go
after you.
Speaker 3 (31:19):
He knows that he's ready for the smoke, and that's
just what it is.
Speaker 1 (31:21):
But I was encouraged based on everything I saw, some
of the plays on the offense and bone Nick, some
of the off schedule stuff that there's we report out there.
I thought there were some good stuff there. Certainly the
defense came with multiple interceptions on Rock Purty before they
got to some of the move the ball and team
and red zone stuff that you know, they found some success. Hey,
Christian McCaffrey scoring a touchdown. He's done it a lot.
(31:42):
It's a pretty good player. It's been healthy. Yeah, so
that doesn't really bother me too much.
Speaker 5 (31:46):
But I will just tell you, like, the reviews to
the defense were glowing, and I heard some other coverage
around town that was mind bogglingly stupid, saying that it wasn't.
Speaker 1 (31:55):
So I to me.
Speaker 5 (31:57):
It texted me that earlier as well, that some people
around town, we're sitting to the Broncos defense is getting killed,
which did not happen. The opposite of that happened. Okay, Yeah,
I didn't hear any of that though, so
