Speaker 1 (00:00):
All right, man, first preseason game coming up. We're excited
about it.

Speaker 2 (00:03):
Yeah, super excited. Is preseason number four, so a lot
of things shake out in the preseason. Just try to
go out there and play as best I can.

Speaker 1 (00:10):
I've been in the league now for four years. What
is your mindset coming into this training camp and how
does that differ.

Speaker 2 (00:15):
Maybe from the past, same mentality. Just I mean, wherever
you start, you still got to work just as hard
as the next guy, if not harder, if you're trying
to run a job. You know, I came in worked
hard all off season, just like the rest of the guys,
and we got a good squad here, and I'm really excited,
really good competition in the wide receiver room, and I'm
excited for the next couple of weeks.

Speaker 1 (00:34):
Yeah. That wide receiver room so many diverse talents. So
how would you describe that group?

Speaker 2 (00:39):
Yeah, I mean there's definitely we got speed high. I mean,
I think everybody in the room has great ball skills,
so it makes a lot of fun at practice, like today,
the bomb veile made an unbelievable catch. Yeah, And I
mean there's a lot of a lot of different tools
in the room that the coaches are trying to use
to help the team, and it's.

Speaker 1 (00:58):
Exciting just for a moment on that Vele catch. I mean,
I'm sure he learned that from you, right yeah, uh.
But but you know, it's interesting when you're a rookie,
right when you're you're young coming into the league. Now
he's not as young as most rookies, but you're coming
into the league for the first time. What's that ramp
up period like to get to the speed of the game.

Speaker 2 (01:16):
It's definitely quick. Bullets are fine, really quick. But I'd
say Troy and Bailey I have done a really good
job adjusting to the speed. And I mean you see
them out there every day making plays, so I think
in my in my opinion, they're doing a really good job.

Speaker 1 (01:29):
You do you cringe at all when you hear Sean
talking about large wide receivers and how he loves really
big bodies. Does that Does that bother you at all?
Or is that maybe motivate you saying hey, I can
do a lot of things that these big guys are
doing out here too.

Speaker 2 (01:42):
I wouldn't say it motivates me. I've always been smaller,
I mean five or nine playing in the NFL. So
you know, it's just something you're used to, have been
small since high school, so I don't really pay too
much mind it.

Speaker 1 (01:52):
Do you. Did you watch guys like Wes Welker and Julianettelman? Yeah,
so what do you think about there? Did you learn
things about rot running from them or what did you
take away from those guys?

Speaker 2 (02:00):
Absolutely, I mean those are some of the best option
runners and guys who find the most open space in
the middle of the field. I mean a lot of
it comes between the years too, and they're so smart.
But I like to watch everybody, especially these good brought
runners on the outside. So we've got some really good
route runners in the room that I learned just as
much from.

Speaker 1 (02:16):
So last couple here for you. So when it comes
to preseason games, you've shown out before in these preseason games,
You've had some really big games. What do you think
it's going to take this year as far as to
get the fifty three minute roster to have them regular
role in this offense.

Speaker 2 (02:31):
Yeah, I'm not too worried about that right now. I'm
just worried about trying to do the best I can
on every single route, every block I have in the game,
or there's special teams offense. Whatever opportunity presents itself, I'll
try to make the most of it.

Speaker 1 (02:42):
Speak special teams, you're getting a chance to do some
returns and that they kind of think. What do you
think of the new kickoff rule?

Speaker 2 (02:47):
I'm excited for it. I think it'll be interesting. I
mean we're just trying to add some more plays to
the game with all the touchbacks last year. I think
it'll be good for the game.

Speaker 1 (02:54):
So it feels like it really suits your game because
you want guys that can kind of quick side to
side a bit more on straight line, always have a
straight line. But it feels like it suits your game.

Speaker 2 (03:03):
Yeah, I mean, we'll see how it works out. We
don't exactly know how the kickers are going to kick
it with the risk of, you know, being short of
the twenty, so we'll see this preseason and the beginning
of the season how it works out shakes out.

Speaker 1 (03:15):
What did you think about the quarterbacks that you guys
have right now working in I think.

Speaker 2 (03:19):
We've got three stats. I mean, they're all awesome. They're all
doing a really good job. Bob being a rookie, Zach's
pretty much a veteran. Now he's played a lot of
a lot of games, a lot of snaps. And then Jared,
I mean, great guy, really good quarterback, And I mean
all three I've like you've probably seen in camp. They've
been doing a really really good job. So oh, noicet
to see how it shakes out.

Speaker 1 (03:38):
Yeah, no, no doubt about it. Do you have to
change anything from a mechanic standpoint when it comes to catching,
like say Zach Wilson's passes, who seems like he's trying
to punish the air when he's throwing the ball.

Speaker 2 (03:47):
No, I mean you see the body catch the ball.
I mean it's a little bit different. But I think
when you're running routes, you see the ball and you
just you know, adjust to it on the fly, do.

Speaker 1 (03:55):
You, And again without giving way too much the moving
you around all over the place, you kind of like
that a little bit of a I would say gadget role,
but that opportunities.

Speaker 2 (04:05):
I think the coach is doing a really good job
of just seeing where guys fit in and what they
can do and maybe adding some some things here with
their game. And I think the coaches have done a
good job not just being around but everybody in their room.

Speaker 1 (04:17):
What is your view of this team this year? Expectation wise?
I mean, last year the Broncos got the eight wins,
you got a five game winning the streak in there.
You know, this year you're kind of a lot of changes.
I guess that that's the way it is.

Speaker 2 (04:29):
Every year, right, Yeah, I mean there's so much turnover
in an offseason. I'm really excited about this team. We're younger.
I think there's a lot of fight, a lot of hunger,
and I think every day at practice, the fans, not
just the fans, media, everybody can see that. You know,
we're going as hard as we can and you know,
I'm super excited just to see, you know, where we
end up.

Speaker 1 (04:46):
Like, appreciate it, man, Thank you
