Speaker 1 (00:00):
Big Nick, How are you man?

Speaker 2 (00:02):
Well, I've never.

Speaker 3 (00:03):
Heard you refer to me in that context, but.

Speaker 2 (00:07):
I'll take you. How are you doing?

Speaker 1 (00:08):
Yeah, you're firing off some takes here in the break.
No no no no no no.

Speaker 2 (00:11):
I didn't fire off any hot takes.

Speaker 3 (00:13):
So I just told you, Well, I told you what
I watched as it pertains to Dylan Gabriel, Instra Door
Sanders and some of what has been put out there
in my opinion, this once again it is my opinion,
isn't all true? Like I've listened to Dan Olowski, David Carr,

(00:34):
Sam Wish like him and.

Speaker 4 (00:38):
Because he's dead. Well you know, okay, cousins. Yes, one
guy white, one guy black, but they are related related
down in their family trips.

Speaker 3 (00:50):
But I listened to these individuals say at nauseum that
Gabriel went through his progressions, and mind you, I have
nothing against Dylan Gabriel.

Speaker 2 (01:01):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (01:01):
All I asked is that when individuals have mice, we
have an audience. Yeah, large audience at least give full context.

Speaker 2 (01:11):
To what took place. And I charted these plays and
I watched them. They were not full. Phil Reads.

Speaker 1 (01:16):
I can't wait to see your your breakdowns. Oh, oh
they coming. Yeah, I believe that, Yes, I believe that. Yeah,
it's it's it's about that time that we need to
put all that stuff out there and let people judge
for themselves. Now, sure Sanders announced is QB three after
all said and done, But that is what it is.
I'm looking forward to your breakdown, Dave, my friend. Good
to see so, oh I can be little Dave. And

(01:37):
did George George Seafford passed? Oh did he really? I
did not see this.

Speaker 2 (01:41):
I just I'm just looking at this. I did not
see that.

Speaker 4 (01:44):
Wow, that's uh, that's tough day, coach correct Yes, yeah,
well Phil for a while, you know, and then went
on to uh to win. I think I think coach
Seyffert won a couple in saying, Frank, did he not?
I mean when Mike Chanahan was the o C in
ninety four, Seafert was the head coach.

Speaker 2 (02:08):
Is that am I am I reading? Are we seeing that?
Or is that I'm seeing story?

Speaker 1 (02:14):
I'm not seeing him as passed away right now.

Speaker 2 (02:16):
Well, let's hope let's hope that this is let's hope
that it's the falls narrative.

Speaker 4 (02:21):
Well, let's hope that it's an AI generated hoax about
that anymore?

Speaker 2 (02:27):
How the hell do you? How can you tell that's right?

Speaker 1 (02:30):
Well, gts as soon as you said something, just and
let's hope, let's hope that it's not. Let's hope. So
Lord knows, we' it's not the first first thing that
we've know.

Speaker 4 (02:40):
No, the air, No, I've done killed me a couple
of them that weren't dead.

Speaker 1 (02:45):
Yeah, sou to the seat, family listening. Yeah for a moment,
go hug your grandpa, your daddy, just on that one
for a second day.

Speaker 2 (02:55):
Good to see you, mad you guys too.

Speaker 1 (02:57):
We got the cutdowns obviously to get to all it's
fun stuff. And hey, we're gonna be giving away a
pair of Rockies Cubs tickets for Friday night skating. Come
see me pitch.

Speaker 2 (03:06):
About that, you know.

Speaker 4 (03:08):
Unfortunately or no, unfortunately, I will be in Orlando, but
I'm gonna have people representing me there cheering you on.

Speaker 2 (03:19):
Okay, yes, so all.

Speaker 1 (03:21):
This years I can assume are people that you know,
uh no, but.

Speaker 4 (03:25):
I will have people there representing me that will be cheering,
cheering your.

Speaker 2 (03:30):
Effort on and filming it. Oh, I think it's going
to be filmed. Yeah, I'm pretty sure. How does one
come by way of representatives? If friends? Oh friends, you
got some? You have representatives? You got friends? Right?

Speaker 3 (03:44):
See that just sounds hmmm, very interesting when you say
that you have representatives, especially me being a man of color,
well got no friends. Yeah, but it's it's a small
pool of well my pool's small too.

Speaker 2 (03:58):
Okay, right anything outside that I.

Speaker 4 (04:00):
Called them associates, well, same thing, associates, representatives, friends.

Speaker 3 (04:05):
See what was the game? Full disclosure? Being a man
of color growing up in inner cities is like calling
someone a representative something that you never wanted to do.

Speaker 2 (04:15):
That's when you're going to jail something like that.

Speaker 1 (04:18):
Okay, all right, I giates. I was literally going off
of just day.

Speaker 4 (04:25):
Representatives, representatives, associates, people, they're representing you, your interest not
seeing there?

Speaker 2 (04:32):
Yeah, yeah, I.

Speaker 1 (04:34):
Hope they livestream it for you. That would be cool.

Speaker 2 (04:36):
I'll be busy Friday night. You might be busy. I
will be able to see it like Saturday.

Speaker 1 (04:41):
Okay, all right, and then you'll you'll give me a breakout. Y.
I'm just trying. I was out there throwing in the rain,
you know, tim Tebow style, took off my shirt, went
out front, started.

Speaker 2 (04:49):
Throwing in the rain, took off your shirt.

Speaker 1 (04:51):
Well listen, I mean you got to you gotta do
a rocky montage, a rocky montage this thing. So I
went out there and it was raining, and I was like, well,
you know, this seems like Tim t did when he
was with the Patriots, and it's a good time to
take it on my shirt. I was asked by my
neighbors in the hoa to put it back on, as
you'd imagine, and so I did. I applied it. I'm
not you know, I'm not a weirdo. And then you
know where, I'm out there throwing throwing pictures in the ring, so.

Speaker 3 (05:17):
You're throwing heat rights.

Speaker 1 (05:20):
No, I had to warm up and it's still probably
my version of throwing stray gas is still not quite there.
But I haven't thrown a baseball in years, honestly, probably
since this. There's not a reason for me to throw
a baseball around.

Speaker 3 (05:33):
Give it to me like this is it regular, spicy
or mild?

Speaker 1 (05:36):
Oh boy? Well for me, yeah, Like I'm pronouncing jollopenno
as jaffelino. Okay, that's spicy.

Speaker 3 (05:50):
Whatever you want to read into that. That's the description
of your arm.

Speaker 1 (05:53):
Talent, that is it. Yeah, well, Dave, Dave can test him.
He played played the game and he watched me throw,
and I just I've only seen you throw on your
previous attempt to throw out the first pitch.

Speaker 2 (06:05):
I saw the video. Yeah, that's all. Can we grade
this video once it comes I.

Speaker 4 (06:10):
Have Yeah, okay, likeday, Yes, sure, do a spiscreen comparison.

Speaker 2 (06:17):
Sure. Oh, we definitely got to do that.

Speaker 1 (06:20):
There's not like a lot of room for improvement. You mean,
because I like you just.

Speaker 2 (06:24):
Not undermine it right now?

Speaker 1 (06:25):
No, no, no, no, no, no, no, I'm I'm I'm hoping
for redemption. That's like we're aiming for that. But understand,
it's not like I've spent the last three when I
think it was like three four years ago when I
did this before. It's not like I've been training for
this moments.

Speaker 2 (06:39):
Yeah, don't don't hope to do something. Just do it.
You either do or you don't. That's it, truly, that's simple, okay.
And in the worlds of athletes and mindset.

Speaker 4 (06:48):
Adopt that mindset. Yes, just just either do or I don't.
On Friday night, I will throw it eighty miles per hour.

Speaker 2 (06:56):
You will not throw it eighty miles per hour. Just
just try to get it across the plate. This I
was all fired up. No, I mean, throw it as
hard as you want to, but you will not approach eighty.

Speaker 4 (07:08):
Just get it across the plate and then walk out
a stick a chest out, feel proud.

Speaker 1 (07:12):
Okay, across the plate.

Speaker 2 (07:13):
That's the goal.

Speaker 1 (07:14):
I could do it, Yes, all right.

Speaker 2 (07:16):
So we'll be giving.

Speaker 1 (07:16):
Away a pair of tickets for you to come see
me throughout the first pitch a little bit later on
in the show. Today is a very busy day, obviously
cut down Day. We'll get into some of that. Travis
Kelcey and and Taylor Swift got engaged in the midst
of all of that, miss of all the chaos of
cutdown Day, we get that announcement and of course it's
Pumpkin Spice Lot Day day. So it's a very very

(07:37):
very busy day here on my high city. Dave, what
which one do you want to start with? I mean,
which I honestly don't know where to start because they're
all so important. What are my choices Pumpkin Spice Lot
to day, Yeah, Taylor Swift and Travis Kelcey, Yeah, one
step closer to Travis being a tapt man and then
now the cutdowns.

Speaker 2 (07:56):
Let's do cutdowns for two hundred place. It sounds good.

Speaker 1 (08:00):
The Broncos get down to fifty three, and the biggest surprise,
I guess would be Lavelle Bailey not making the fifty three.
The initial fifty three we was talking about that got
to couch it the initial fifty three. It looks like
Corennie Reid is going to be there for the Broncos
in the top four there for inside linebacker.

Speaker 2 (08:17):
What was your reaction to that.

Speaker 4 (08:20):
I was moderately surprised, but I do think it goes
to show you what I've said for many, many years
with respect to training camp and those who watch practice,
and I was one of those, it is difficult to
draw any conclusions that have validity because in many instances
you just don't know. You see somebody flash and make

(08:43):
a good play here, and all of a sudden we
termed that as that guy having a really good day,
and the reality of NFL training camp says that's not.

Speaker 2 (08:54):
How coaches view it.

Speaker 4 (08:56):
They go look at film, they see these guys in meetings.

Speaker 2 (08:59):
I have no idea.

Speaker 4 (09:02):
What the thought process was behind Bailey not making it
or read making.

Speaker 2 (09:07):
It, you know, I just I just don't know.

Speaker 4 (09:10):
But obviously they saw something either in Reid or they
anticipate somebody else being available, and they saw something in
Bailey that gave them, even if it's just a moment's
pause where they're like, Okay, can is this a guy

(09:31):
that we could throw out there week three? And it
could he give us fifty snaps and one of those
two inside linebacker spots and we would be a good defense.
I don't know what it was, but I was moderately surprised.

Speaker 3 (09:47):
Well I'll say this, when ree was drafted, I thought
that he would be an excellent prospect to make the
scene from a backup linebacker special team standpoint, and that's
kind of how the team views him right right now.

Speaker 2 (10:04):
But adding him to the roster.

Speaker 3 (10:06):
You need guys that you may perceive to be high
energy guys, and sometimes that high energy can make up
for the lack of God given skills that you may
you may not have. And I think that's where Reid
was able to lean on that work ethic, just being
everywhere and every time and be that do all guy.

(10:26):
And let's be totally honest, Bailey's had his opportunities to
flash and show the team what he could do. And
when the expectations are set for you based on how
you play, and you come into that second or third
year and things don't seem to be the same. And
then you got another guy who looks to be hung over.

(10:46):
He looks he's looking for his opportunity. And that's what
Reid was presenting. And I can't say this for sure,
this is just my opinion watching these two players, but
I would have to think that George Payton and his
coaching staff, you know, so they were looking at players
from that particular standpoint and that's why things are the
way they are.

Speaker 1 (11:04):
Well, and oftentimes the back end of the rosters, you
guys both know, tends to be whatever the special teams
coach really pounds the table for, like I got to
have this guy. So if you're inside linebacker four, or
outside linebacker five, or safety five or six, so you
know what I'm saying, Like, if you're that guy, well,
not only in the initial fifty three, you should probably

(11:25):
not celebrate too hard because the team might be still
looking out there, but also it's because say Darren Rizzy
in this case, said that's a guy I got a half.
So I like Hernna Red as a better fit for
what I'm trying to do than what Lavelle Bailey gives you.

Speaker 3 (11:39):
Well, very true, and Rizzy is very new to Bailey,
like would read that's the guy that Rizzy could say, well, we're.

Speaker 2 (11:47):
Coming in at the same time. Ill like every aspect
of his game.

Speaker 3 (11:51):
No, he may not be as fast as you want,
but you need a guy with that type of energy
and instinct to play special teams. And when I think
about Red, he reminds me a little from an extinctual standpoint.

Speaker 2 (12:06):
Josie Jewel, Right, that forty seven Okay, Well, if you wanted.

Speaker 3 (12:11):
To go comps, that's the direction you would go. So
when a young guy breaks into the league playing special teams, right,
you're trying to buy your time to understand the system
so you can really get those reps to really prove
who you are.

Speaker 1 (12:24):
Okay. So that was the one, I guess, surprise if
you will. The other one was seven defensive linemen both
Jordan Jackson and and the old wa was where hek
made the roster. That was sort of an either or
We talked about it yesterday, Dave. So they both make
the roster initial fifty three and then they do keep
four running backs. That was another thing we talked about
as a possibility, only two quarterbacks. And then the last

(12:44):
one is is Crumb. Frank Crumb once again here he
is offensive tackle at of Wyoming last year, made the
team as an undrafted free agent, and boy, he's just
been developmental the whole time. But he once again on
the fifty three rows. And I gotta be honest, of
the different variations and versions of this, that was one

(13:05):
that I always got to the end, I was like,
I don't know, man. I mean, you can, you could
keep him, but I don't know what the interest would
be outside of the Broncos on him necessarily.

Speaker 4 (13:14):
Well, I think you'd find somebody that would scoop him
up rather rapidly just because of his size, his contract.
He's a good athlete for a kid his size. And
I also think it speaks to the Broncos saying, hey,
how much did he improve at this point this year
from when we got him last year?

Speaker 2 (13:35):
And can we.

Speaker 4 (13:37):
Can we count on that kind of improvement to the
start of the season next year, And if so, we're
not real sure what we will do with Mike McGlinchey
and do we feel like this guy, having improved as
he did in his first year, can improve that much

(13:58):
more in his second year. So it would be smart,
It would be smart to keep him. I think also
the defensive line thing is a little indicative of the
same kind of logic. Backup players that can help this year,
but are young, their contract friendly and next year. I mean,

(14:20):
you don't know what's going to happen with John Franklin Myers,
you don't know what's going to happen with Malcolm Roach yep.
So you want to develop some depth that is under
club friendly financial control, and you can work with them
for another full year. If they need to play this
year for whatever reason, you'll get them ready to go.

(14:42):
But the same sort of logic, what are they going
to look like next year when they come to camp.

Speaker 1 (14:46):
I think it's a fantastic point. Plus you're and they're
also developing safety on Jones in that entire process too.

Speaker 2 (14:51):
So he's a guy.

Speaker 1 (14:52):
I mean, obviously he's going to make the roster, but
you wanted to see what death was going to be,
not only mixed with him, what kind of reps he
can get this this year as you just said it.
You got to make a decision with JFM, me to
make a decision there with Malcolm Roach. Honestly. Otherwise, I
thought the roster was pretty pretty close to what we've
been discussing, and maybe that's just indicative of what this
team was, I mean coming into camp. They we talked

(15:12):
about it all the way through. It like, gosh, the
only position group I feel like we can have any
debate on is the running backs. And by the time
we got to the third preseason game, I even felt
like that was pretty much decided.

Speaker 4 (15:21):
Yeah, Sean said before the game when I was talking
to him during doing his pregame, and he just mentioned
it in conversation that you before the game was played,
you had.

Speaker 2 (15:36):
Fifty eight guys.

Speaker 4 (15:38):
Fifty eight guys competing for fifty three, so all the
other guys, I mean, they'd already made decisions on And
that's not you know, it's just the way the NFL works.
Most teams are like that doesn't mean you know that
they're cold hearted, even though they are.

Speaker 2 (15:53):
It's just the way it works.

Speaker 4 (15:55):
So I think when you have a good team, where
you think you have a good team and you have
this kind of depth, you.

Speaker 2 (16:02):
Know, you want to you want to make sure your.

Speaker 4 (16:05):
Depth at at spots that you absolutely have to have it.
You mean, you got to have a backup tackle or two,
and you got to have some football playing Jesse's inside.
If you're gonna be as good as you think, you're
going to be controlling the run game. So the defensive lineman,
no surprise there, the receivers will no surprise there.

Speaker 2 (16:27):
Keeping four running backs no surprise.

Speaker 1 (16:31):
R no. And then Nate Adkins. Of course miss did
not go on the IR but Drew Sanders and Burton
on the short term.

Speaker 2 (16:38):
I R yep.

Speaker 3 (16:39):
So it is like I told you before, when teams
are developing their rosters, they're always going to look interior
offensive line first. And if you're a guy that has
some versatility, especially if you're a young guy and you
cost effective nine times.

Speaker 2 (16:56):
Out of ten, you're gonna make that team.

Speaker 3 (16:58):
But in order to make that happened, you got to
pull from one group, and that group is always the secondary.

Speaker 2 (17:05):
Here it is no, no, no, no, no, that's not here.

Speaker 1 (17:08):
It is here.

Speaker 2 (17:10):
It is I'm reminding you of what happened.

Speaker 3 (17:12):
Like Dave said that sometimes it's part of the course,
but the business can be cold, right, And it's often
those skilled guys, those dbs who are left out in
the cold, shivering no jacket.

Speaker 1 (17:26):
Is that what we do? It's such a cold business
that we're gonna put you guys out on the street
and cold and with no jacket.

Speaker 5 (17:32):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (17:32):
Have you ever seen a guy get cut from a team?

Speaker 3 (17:35):
They give you a garbage bag, collect your stuff in
the garbage bag, and kick rocks. That's what I'm saying.
Because it's cold, they knows exactly what I'm talking about.

Speaker 4 (17:44):
I still have my garbage bag, see I the garbage
bag true story. The day I got cut was the
first day that I can remember ever listening to sports
talk radio.

Speaker 1 (17:58):
Were they talking about you at that moment?

Speaker 2 (18:00):
Did you listen just to see if it would talk why?
I don't even remember.

Speaker 4 (18:04):
Probably, I think and my base my college baseball coach
was was a host. So I'm like, you know, I
was listening to music. I'm like, let me go turn
this on, and I'm like, wow, Okay, I guess I'm
a little bit of a topic here.

Speaker 2 (18:20):
Was it?

Speaker 1 (18:20):
Was it good stuff? Or was like like they.

Speaker 2 (18:23):
Were very supportive, It's like, what is going on?

Speaker 5 (18:26):
OK?

Speaker 3 (18:26):
Good?

Speaker 1 (18:26):
That's right?

Speaker 4 (18:27):
Ye?

Speaker 1 (18:28):
Like like boy couldn't couldn't move on fast enough, so
they didn't.

Speaker 2 (18:33):
Ryan Air was treatment right? Hold on, what is your treatment?

Speaker 1 (18:37):
I'm very kind, I'm very supportive.

Speaker 2 (18:39):
What are you talking about? Really?

Speaker 4 (18:41):
Oh no, you have a reputation amongst players being cold
as ice. That's why I wanted to play foreigner? Is
that foreigner? I'm just saying, Ryan, Yeah, Ryan, we have
to change. Now, go out there to throw baseball and
whoop it up and laugh and enjoy your popcorn.

Speaker 1 (18:58):
I really wanted to talk about Travis Kelsey a kept man.

Speaker 2 (19:02):
When you sent me that. What did I say? Is
he still playing? So? How kept is he for now? What?

Speaker 5 (19:08):
Well?

Speaker 2 (19:08):
You can't play forever fifty?

Speaker 3 (19:11):
The only reason Ryan wants to talk about it because
Ryan wants to be a kept man himself wants to
be you know.

Speaker 1 (19:18):
Something all men should want to be.

Speaker 4 (19:20):
Listen, is it a hell up out of here right now? Seriously?
Let the door hit you right?

Speaker 1 (19:25):
Dream?

Speaker 2 (19:27):
It's the dream.

Speaker 1 (19:30):
I taking the heartbeat. If my wife wants to basically
put the bill for everything and travel me around the
world and usher usher me is as arm Candy, I'm good,
I'm great.

Speaker 2 (19:41):
Armed Candy. I don't even know.

Speaker 4 (19:48):
I can't think of the last time I described myself
as arm candy, but you just did.

Speaker 2 (19:53):
Wow. Come on, okay, all right, hey, be confident. Where's
your man heart? I believe about ninety five that be confident?

Speaker 1 (20:01):
All right, We're off. We uh will talk about Travis Kelsey.
I'm sure because Ian Rapport is going to join us next.
Ian's always great to catch up with you, my friend.
Thank you so much for the time this afternoon.

Speaker 2 (20:12):
How are you?

Speaker 5 (20:14):
What's going on now? Were you?

Speaker 4 (20:15):
We're uh, we're We're just excited about the start of
the season. We know we're whatever ten days away or so,
but it getting closer obviously.

Speaker 2 (20:23):
Uh.

Speaker 4 (20:23):
In the NFL. I want to ask you about the
Micah Parsons thing I usually do. We've got the other
two guys signed. Uh, but Michael Parsons that that thing
doesn't appear to be close, at least from us who
sit way way out here.

Speaker 2 (20:36):
What are you hearing and what's your thought?

Speaker 5 (20:40):
Yeah? I mean, you know, to mine now, it doesn't
seem to be that close either, you know, And I
would say, you know. Brian shawan Ahman, the head coach
of Dallas Cowboys, has been optimistic about Michael Parsons being
on the field week one, certainly that's possible. I would
say without a new deal, that would be interesting, you know,
part since has he is he is stubborn, he is smart.

(21:04):
He is someone who has you know, held up and
done a hold in.

Speaker 6 (21:10):
Smaller than anyone you know abstinute new deal.

Speaker 5 (21:13):
Does he get on the field or does he you know,
kind of rely on his back injury. I don't know.
I just I haven't really since that situation is headed
down to great path either. But you know, Brian Sean Hermy,
you would think would probably know a lot more than me,
So hopefully there is some optimism there.

Speaker 3 (21:33):
So he and Wayne we look at this situation where
Terry McLaurin and it's it's become some of a trend
and NFL because usually guys will hold out. Now we're
seeing more guys hold in and deciding not to participate.

Speaker 2 (21:49):
When you look at this situation where.

Speaker 3 (21:50):
Terry McLaurin, I mean, how how did they finally reach
the agreement?

Speaker 2 (21:54):
They reached it with.

Speaker 7 (21:55):
The commands, you know, I think really what it was
is there when you show up there in like, if
you hold out, you can hold out to eternity, right,
you you can get fined and you can hold out,
but there's nothing they could do to force you to play.
When you show up and you hold in, at some

(22:16):
point the team has options.

Speaker 5 (22:18):
And the options are they can find you, they can start,
they can suspend you. I mean, if you show up
and refuse to play, there are things that can happen.

Speaker 6 (22:26):
So once the commanders.

Speaker 5 (22:27):
Were like, all right, like you need to get ready
to play, and he kind of started to ramp up.

Speaker 6 (22:31):
Then it sort of became clear, like all right, like
something good.

Speaker 5 (22:36):
Is happening because he's getting ready to play. And I
think once he hits the field, once it becomes like,
you know, sort of clear that he's going to play,
it's just like what's the best deal they can do?
So he gets thirty two million dollars per year in
new money. That's the max value. You know, my understanding
of the base value is below that, so probably round

(22:56):
thirty or maybe even a little less. But you know,
he wanted the up sid they wanted the base. It's
a compromising.

Speaker 6 (23:02):
The commanders probably paid a little more than they wanted.

Speaker 5 (23:04):
He probably took a little less than he.

Speaker 6 (23:06):
Wanted, and you know that's how it gets done.

Speaker 5 (23:11):
And I think the right outcome was probably for Jaren McCorry.

Speaker 6 (23:15):
To be a member of the Washington Commander.

Speaker 5 (23:16):
So I think that's good.

Speaker 1 (23:18):
Ian rapborre joining us. This is our first time chatting
with you since the Devon Vley trade last week to
the New Orleans Saints for a fourth and a seventh.
What was your reaction to that and what do you
think that says about the Broncos receiving corps that they
moved on from a guy that had almost five hundred
receiving yards last year.

Speaker 5 (23:33):
You know, first of all, I would say my reaction
is different than what I think now. My reaction is like, wait, seriously,
someone gave up that much for Vley? He had a
real market, you know, he really did. You know, I
would say there were two teams. The Jaguars were the
other team, and you know, it did sound like there
were a lot of like there were some real offers.

(23:54):
It was, you know, it was a lot of real picks.
And he's a big body, he's cost control, so he's cheap.
He's a little older, so he's like a good pro.
He's a red zone target. I mean, you know, is
he the most well known receiver.

Speaker 6 (24:07):
No, but he's someone who had real value, you know.

Speaker 5 (24:11):
And so I think the Broncos did a nice job.
I don't know that they really wanted.

Speaker 2 (24:15):
To trade them.

Speaker 5 (24:16):
I didn't get the sense they did. But at some
point the value becomes kind of too much and you
just have to do the deal.

Speaker 6 (24:22):
That he just decided to do the deal, you know.

Speaker 5 (24:26):
And I thought they did a really nice job getting
some good value in a place that you know, we
actually haven't seen a ton of receivers trade.

Speaker 6 (24:33):
They had one and a few did a great job getting.

Speaker 1 (24:35):
Value there jague and rapport.

Speaker 5 (24:38):
You know.

Speaker 1 (24:39):
One of the things about the trades that we've seen
a sus like a bit of a flurry of them
over the last twenty four or so hours. You mentioned receivers.
I know sky Moore got traded, but you're right, we've
seen quarterbacks trade. We're seeing offensive line defensive line. Does
it seem a little ramped up this year in some
of the last minute trades before the cutdown?

Speaker 5 (24:59):
You know, maybe maybe a few more like picks where
you'll say, like all right, like I'm gonna cut this guy.
You know, do you want to a seventh rounder in
twenty twenty eight. I had one today that was I
think it was a seventh rounder in twenty twenty. I
that's that's a long way off, but you know, it's
better than better than cutting the guy.

Speaker 1 (25:18):
If you're a player, you'd.

Speaker 5 (25:19):
Rather get traded than cut. So we probably have seen
a little more. Some gms are a little more used
to used to doing deals than they otherwise were. But
it's fun. People like trade, So yeah, I think we
I was happy we saw a couple.

Speaker 3 (25:34):
Well, it's always the interesting time of the year, especially
when you don't have a star quarterback, and that's what
Kella Moore was dealing with with the New Orleans Saints.

Speaker 2 (25:42):
But he named Spencer Rattler.

Speaker 3 (25:44):
His starting quarterback over the guy that drafted and Tyler Shuck.

Speaker 2 (25:48):
Well when you first heard that news, what were your responses?

Speaker 5 (25:52):
Yeah, I mean that's that's kind of what I had
been what I had been expecting that, you know, Spencer
Rally would be the starter and it would be probably weak.
I mean, if Spencer Raller entrenches himself as the starting
quarterback for the Saints, that's a win. If it's Tyler Shuck,
that's a win. They just want one guy to be it.
You want someone to seize it, and it never felt

(26:13):
in training camp like anyone sees it.

Speaker 2 (26:15):
So you go with Doro.

Speaker 5 (26:16):
It short of the experienced guy. And you know, I
hate to say like this, but it's you know, easier
to bench a veteran than it is a rookie. It's
just it just is. You know, if you start Tyler
shuck and you have to pull him, that's hard on
a rookie. If he comes it off the bench, like
you know, that's that's a little more palatable.

Speaker 6 (26:31):
So to me, that was, you know, sort of what
I thought, sort of what I expected.

Speaker 5 (26:36):
I think it's the right outcome. What you just like,
if you're in New Orleans is you'd like it to
be sooner rather than later for Tyler Shark to come
in and show he's ready.

Speaker 1 (26:43):
Last one and a half for you, Ian, I'd love
to ask you about Travis Kelsey and Taylor Swift. That
was one of the biggest news stories of the day,
but I would be I'd be remiss if I didn't
ask about Shtor Sanders because the dialogue, the narrator, the
narration on this thing has been all over the place
since his last performance. He named the third quarterback now
on the roster behind Dylan Gabriel and of course Joe Flacco.

(27:04):
What was your reaction to that?

Speaker 6 (27:07):
You know, I would say once if it became clear that
Kenny Pickot was going to get traded in, you know,
we found out sort of yesterday, you know, at some
point that that he would get traded, then it was like,
all right.

Speaker 5 (27:19):
They must be comfortable in Dylan Gabriel.

Speaker 6 (27:20):
But you know, he's he actually.

Speaker 5 (27:23):
Played more than than Sanders in college. He was more
NFL ready from a system that was more NFL ready,
played better in the preseason and was ahead of Sanders.
So this, you know, this was the right outcome. And
I think, you know, if.

Speaker 6 (27:34):
You're the Browns again, like you have Joe Flacco as
your starting quarterback, he's not the future.

Speaker 5 (27:39):
So if some other quarterback, whether it's Shador, whether it's
Dylan Gabriel, if he comes in and can give a
spark or be productive, that's the big win. If Dylan Gabriel,
a third runner, is just a backup quarterback for four years,
that is okay, that's a roster spot, but it's possible
he's more. You know, I think I think that made
a lot of sense to them. I really did it, and.

Speaker 6 (28:01):
You know, that was kind of what I had been expecting.

Speaker 1 (28:03):
Okay, but seriously, we're in the midst of cutdown day
and the engagement is announced. What's your thing? What are
you thinking right there? As it is? Hold on, he's like,
he's doing his job, he's working out there, he's down
the leads well, and then all of a sudden, in
the midst of all of that, we have this engagement
that kind of took over Twitter. So I want to
know what from me is perfective?

Speaker 3 (28:20):
And you don't really have to answer this question, but
feel free if.

Speaker 2 (28:23):
You want to.

Speaker 6 (28:24):
I'm hey, I'm happy to answer it.

Speaker 5 (28:26):
I thought it was a great moment. Love exists. I
love Travis. Taylor is great. I'm not a huge fan
of her work, but my members of my family are.
I'm happy to see him happy. I think she has
done amazing things for football by bringing in so many
young and so many female fans. She seems awesome. So

(28:48):
I was very happy. I really was.

Speaker 1 (28:50):
Yeah, no, no doubt about it. I and you're the best.
We appreciate it.

Speaker 5 (28:52):
We'll check it with you next week, all right, Thank you, guys.

Speaker 1 (28:55):
He's such a proy.

Speaker 2 (28:56):
Listen, you only have ian for a small amount of time.

Speaker 1 (28:58):
We asked him a lot of questions. If you have
something else you wanted to ask, you could raise your hand.

Speaker 2 (29:02):
I mean, but I want to be respectful.

Speaker 1 (29:04):
David Racis, you got anybody else her hands?

Speaker 2 (29:06):
But I didn't think that you were going to ask.

Speaker 1 (29:08):
Him in the midst of question, in the midst of
cut down day happening. I thought it was interesting because
you're an insider.

Speaker 2 (29:15):
No one's never.

Speaker 1 (29:15):
Out there working wait very hard on the cut down day,
and then all of a sudden, this bombshell drops in
the middle of everything.

Speaker 2 (29:22):
This is not a bomshit, it absolutely is.

Speaker 3 (29:24):
There are guys who are walking out of NFL organizations
right now with their trash bags, heading to their car,
playing leaving out of the gate, knowing as though their
careers they were never wearing NFL uniform. But she wanted
to take a moment right to talk about you know,
a man who speaks to your own heart was being

(29:46):
well kept man.

Speaker 1 (29:47):
I could have asked him of a PSL day. You
actually should be lucky that that's direction were starting to
go on that cut down day, to the point that
you were making is a mixed emotion day, right, It
is just is Yes, you're finalizing and some dreams are
coming true, some other dreams are ending. And I definitely
was excited to have you on the show today because

(30:08):
I wanted to ask you about it for sure. So
we had some fun to begin of the show. At
some point, I do want to get to that. But
in the midst of all of that, you have this
which took over Twitter for a good two hours at least,
and I thought it was funny. Ian Mike Garofolo, Adam Scheffer,
all the guys out there that are working so hard
to get the information out to NFL fans, to the

(30:31):
fan bases about which players are making the roster and
which are not. Suddenly there's this thing and you have
to cover it, right Like, I didn't retweet it, I
didn't do anything with it other than to send it
to Dave and say there's one step closer to be
a cap man. That's the only thing I did with it.
Because I'm in the middle of covering for the Broncos
and trying to chase down stuff and be aware of

(30:51):
what's going on with the team before we come into
the show. That that was my mindset. But in the
midst of all that, you had this and I was
curious how he like what you have to You have
to do something with it. You can't just ignore us.

Speaker 3 (31:05):
You make mention of it on social media. Congratulations, move
right along.

Speaker 1 (31:11):
They broke into Pat McAfee with a whole announcement. I
mean you was a big deal today, man.

Speaker 3 (31:17):
Okay, if you wanted to sum up today in a
tell the Swift song, it would be bad blood, especially
with the with the guys being you know, Sam packing
with a pink slip. Okay, but but here's the one
thing that you brought up. You say, they cut into
Pat McAfee, show that that bothers me.

Speaker 2 (31:38):
I love, I.

Speaker 3 (31:39):
Respect what Travis kelcey brings as a tight end. Right,
guy's really skilled, on the down side of his career,
but still skilled.

Speaker 1 (31:46):
Hall of famer.

Speaker 2 (31:47):
And when you.

Speaker 3 (31:48):
Look at Taylor Swift, great songs, even better songs when
she breaks up with you.

Speaker 1 (31:54):
Right, So, now, what does your career look like now?
Is she on the back half of her career because.

Speaker 3 (32:00):
No, no, no, no, no, no no no, she is
still trending up.

Speaker 1 (32:04):
No, but but now she doesn't have a breakup to
write about what is she gonna do? These are important questions.
You know we can get Ian back on.

Speaker 2 (32:09):
No, we don't need to.

Speaker 3 (32:11):
But my problem is that before they were engaged, there
was a lot of Tylers Swift being shown during a
football game.

Speaker 1 (32:19):
Dude, they can't show more than they already.

Speaker 2 (32:21):
Really, you have ever seen Mike Turrico in NBC?

Speaker 1 (32:25):
I have too much?

Speaker 3 (32:27):
And now that they are engaged and you asked Ian
about it, the league is they tweeted it out?

Speaker 1 (32:33):
Are you saying this is my fault.

Speaker 2 (32:35):
I'm not saying that is your I'm.

Speaker 3 (32:37):
Just saying this is just gonna make things batter worse
for potential viewers when we watch games, we're gonna see
less of the games and more of the press spots.
But Travis Kelsey's mother and Taylor Swift. I tune in
to watch the game. I like them music, but I
want to watch the game.

Speaker 2 (32:54):
This is one.

Speaker 1 (32:54):
My sister is a major Swift.

Speaker 2 (32:56):
See.

Speaker 1 (32:57):
She watched the playoffs despite having no interest in football,
just to see Taylor Swift. Swift is an icon, no doubt,
whether you like her music or not, which is a
weird spot for you because you love her music. Yes,
we haven't even talked about the tattoo. We'll be right
back on KOA
