Speaker 1 (00:00):
Uck, welcome back.

Speaker 2 (00:00):
It's Wednesday at four o'clock, which means went out to
the KA Kommasbury Health hotline and bring on one of
our favorites, the one and only Rick Lewis. You can
chere about on the ricklas project. You have a plan
on Friday nights, right.

Speaker 3 (00:14):
Yeah, Hey guys, Hi the Dynamic Duo. You guys doing that?

Speaker 1 (00:17):
We're good? Pretty well? Rick, I got to ask you
what the funk is up?

Speaker 4 (00:21):
And then you know, how's your drum tech getting to
the show on Friday?

Speaker 1 (00:25):
Okay?

Speaker 3 (00:25):
Well, yeah, we do have a show Friday at the
Buffalo Rose in Golden Historic Venue and Freddie Jones band
will be headlined in the show. Actually we're going to
open the show and tickets are available go to Buffalo
Rosegolden dot com. They've got a little promo code too.
You can click on that and get a bogo right now.

(00:47):
I highly recommend you do that while you can still
do it. And if you need a ride, Ben, you
can hit your ride with me. And of course I'm
not going to be able to pay you that night.
That's my drum tech.

Speaker 1 (00:59):
That's per our custom.

Speaker 3 (01:00):
Okay. I just want to make sure you're not starting
to anticipate that this is going to turn into a
paid gig for you.

Speaker 4 (01:07):
Yeah, I know, I was hoping for maybe a basket
of fries, but you know I can.

Speaker 3 (01:12):
I can do that myself. Oh yeah, I got, I
got cheeseburger, fries, whatever you want.

Speaker 2 (01:18):
This.

Speaker 4 (01:18):
I talked myself into a meal fantastic on a Friday.
Valuable services I bring to the table like a perfect
Friday night, to be.

Speaker 2 (01:24):
Honest, Hey, Rick, it's good to hear from you, man.
And of course we're all excited about the season. Storry.
This was a really funny, very quick moment here from
Sean Payton was asked by Zach Zach with a d
m VR Sex Stevens about the fast start of what
what it looks like is a fast start for the Broncos.

Speaker 1 (01:40):
This is really funny.

Speaker 3 (01:41):
It was a key to a fast start to get
the season going, especially to win the first game. Okay,
you know what, I don't have a problem with that.
But I did not have a problem with that. You
don't want to start looking down the road. It's game
one and I'm ready, man, when's it's all Wednesday? And

(02:01):
I'm starting to twitch a little bit. I don't know
about you, guys. I'm kind of starting to get that
little tingle.

Speaker 2 (02:07):
Yeah, well they do have prescriptions for that.

Speaker 1 (02:09):
Yeah, I said, doctor said clear up in a week
or two. Yeah, not that.

Speaker 3 (02:14):
Kind of jingle. But you know what I'm talking about.

Speaker 1 (02:17):
Yes, we did. No, We're excited, man.

Speaker 2 (02:19):
I mean coming into today and knowing the Broncos were
practicing out there, that we're gonna hear from the coach,
we're gonna hear from the quarterback, and and we have
to officially start kind of previewing the first game. I mean,
it's one thing when it's preseason and we're talking about
what we hope to see.

Speaker 1 (02:31):
This is this is when it matters, and this is
a game.

Speaker 2 (02:35):
We were sort of talking about expectations for the season
in the first hour, Rick, and I mean, it's a
level of optimism from Broncos country that we have not
seen in quite some time. So, I don't know, man,
where where your where's your optimism level? You're typically optimistic guy,
Where's you're at for the season?

Speaker 3 (02:51):
So we're talking for the whole season. We're gonna start
with this week, Okay, the whole season. Yeah, I am.
I'm more than cautiously optimistic. I think they got a
pretty good chance to win the AFC West this year.
I do think they'll be a playoff team even if
they don't win the AFC West. I do think they'll
be a playoff team. I had them at like ten

(03:13):
or eleven. I'm going to stick with that because the
AFC West is going to be so competitive. I think
they'll be three teams bunched up there near the top.
And if things go the Broncos way and they can
stay healthy, I think they got a legit chance to
win the division.

Speaker 2 (03:30):
All right, Well, where's your optimism for the first game then,
I imagine it's going to be pretty high since you're
picking ten or eleven wins.

Speaker 1 (03:37):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (03:38):
Yeah. Tennessee was a terrible team last year. They only
won three games, and their head coaches on the hot
seat already in his second year as a head coach.
That being said, Tennessee went out and really on paper,
they improved it just about every position, especially at offensive
line and quarterback with a cam Ward and cam didn't

(04:02):
show much in preseason. I think they were protecting him,
didn't want to show too much. But they love what
they've seen in camp from him. They say he has
a quiet confidence, no drama. He's a perfectionist. He keeps
doing things until he gets it right. All the things
you want for your franchise quarterback. And you know what,

(04:24):
there's some people in Nashville that think this team could
win ten games this year. So if that's the case,
you can't take him lightly. You can't take anybody lightly
in the NFL. You guys know that some people even
think they could win the AFC South. So with that
in mind, Broncos need to show up, take care of business.

(04:46):
You need to win at home. If the Broncos can
win nine home games this year, it's going to be
a heck of a season. Even if they can win eight,
I think the Broncos are going to have a heck
of a year. But you start with game one, just
like Peyton said, you start up with this game, You
take care of business, you win this game, and then
you move on with Rick los.

Speaker 4 (05:07):
Rick, you know you said there are people in Nashville
believe the Titans could win ten games. I was unaware
that they had legalized marijuana in Nashville, But yeah, looking
at this, looking at this Titans defensive line, this might
be the secret for what Tennessee wants to do.

Speaker 1 (05:21):
They get a beefy.

Speaker 4 (05:22):
Defensive line, the three man front of Jeffrey Simmons who's
a Bernial Allpro, Tavandre Sweat who was a massive human being,
and Sebastian Joseph Day that's one of the best three
man fronts in the league, Tovandracepa of course, three hundred
and sixty six pounds by the way, that is a
beefy front three.

Speaker 1 (05:38):
To tie up the Broncos offensive line.

Speaker 3 (05:42):
Yeah, and the Broncos are going to run a lot
of the wide zone scheme, which I think works against
a defensive line like that. Last year they gave up
four and a half yards of carry on the season,
So when you look at that, I think the Broncos
have to field pretty good that they can run the
ball against Tennessee. In fact, let's hope so, because we

(06:03):
really didn't see them do it much in preseason, and
I do think they will focus on trying to establish
a run game this week against Tennessee with JK. Dobbins
and RJ. Harvey, and I do think they'll be able
to do that. Then of course, when you can get
the run game established, everything else opens up and bow
Nicks could end up having a big game on Sunday.

Speaker 1 (06:26):
Be great to see a last one for me.

Speaker 2 (06:27):
Rick, always appreciate you checking with us again all season long,
and Wednesdays at four o'clock we'll hear from Rick Lewis.

Speaker 1 (06:33):
So you talked about the.

Speaker 2 (06:34):
Run game, and that feels like the biggest We don't
really know what that looks like just yet. So we're
optimistic about a lot of things, the overall season record,
what they can do on Sunday. Where's your optimism level
sitting right now? With the run game, I.

Speaker 3 (06:52):
Feel pretty good about it, especially if Dobbins can stay healthy.
I think he'll have a thousand yards rushing this year.
He almost had it last year. But the key is
can he stay healthy. This guy, even going back to
high school, is a guy that's been injured a lot,
and not just injured, but pretty severe injuries throughout his career.

(07:13):
I like his chances this year. I can't wait to
see him on Sunday. We didn't see him at all
in preseason. Really, I can't wait to see him Sunday,
see what they do with him.

Speaker 5 (07:23):
R J.

Speaker 3 (07:24):
Harvey, we're still trying to figure him out too. Is
he a three down back? No, not yet. He needs
to improve in pass pro. But the one two combination
I think is going to be very effective.

Speaker 4 (07:38):
Rick, last one from me, who's your Who's your preseason
or at least before the season starts.

Speaker 1 (07:43):
Broncos MVP this year?

Speaker 3 (07:47):
Uh, you want offense and defense?

Speaker 1 (07:49):
Sure, yeah, we'll go for two for we'll double it up.
You pay extra for that.

Speaker 3 (07:52):
I think, Yeah, MVP. I think it's going to be
Bo Nicks. I think Bo will continue to progress this year.
Coming off a really good rookie year. He should be
even better this year, especially if they can run the
football defense. PS two is an easy one. Let's say,

(08:15):
let's say Nick Benito this year.

Speaker 1 (08:17):
Nice.

Speaker 3 (08:17):
Let's say Nick Benito comes up with fifteen or sixteen
sacks this year, we'll give him the defense of MVP.

Speaker 2 (08:24):
Check out the Rick Lewis Project with the Freddie Jones
Man this Friday night the Buffalo Rose and of course
Benjamin Albright the drum drum Tech. Drum Tech will be
there as well. I'm sure we're wearing black. It'll be
easy to.

Speaker 3 (08:36):
It's all black, baby. Yeah, you got to rock the black.

Speaker 1 (08:38):
You gotta rock the black.

Speaker 2 (08:40):
Rick, I can't wait to get another season going here.
As we get to a chat on Sunday, my friend,
I appreciate.

Speaker 1 (08:46):
You so much.

Speaker 3 (08:47):
I'm twitching. Man. Yeah, let's play the game. I'm ready
looking forward to it. Guys, thanks for having me on.

Speaker 2 (08:53):
You're the best man. Appreciate you, all right, man, all right?
Rick lewis color analyst for you, dever. Broncos are coverage
starts at eight am on Sunday, Benjamin all Bright with
Broncos warm up, and of course Rick will be on
with me and count down to kickoff at noon, which
is gonna be a lot of fun. All right, we'll

(09:15):
get that interview up a kawait Colorado dot Com man,
we have I can't wait till we can roll it out.
But we have some really cool guests because weekly fixtures
coming up next week. I can't I can't wait. It's
gonna be great. We can tell you, I will tell you.
But right now, we have some really cool stuff working

(09:35):
up for next week starting on Monday, as we get
rolling into the first reaction to the Broncos first game
and then we kind of roll into the season.

Speaker 1 (09:45):
It's gonna be a lot of fun.

Speaker 2 (09:46):
The injury report came out a little bit ago that
the one Sean Payton would not talk about.

Speaker 1 (09:50):
I'm not commenting some good news.

Speaker 2 (09:52):
Nick Benito, Marvin Mims, and Alex Singleton all full participants.

Speaker 1 (09:56):
So Marvin Mims, we had the scare last week.

Speaker 2 (10:00):
He's listened as a thigh injury, growing thigh, extreme upper thigh.

Speaker 5 (10:06):
It's a thigh the same way like Deshaun Watson, massage
is on the thighs.

Speaker 3 (10:11):
Boy.

Speaker 2 (10:12):
Really, you're welcome Nick Vonnita with the foot, of course,
in Alex Singleton with a thumb, so he's good with
his knee. Now, I forget with the ic all that
Nate Adkins and Drake Greenlaw did not practice.

Speaker 1 (10:25):
Nate with the ankle, which we knew was going to
be the case.

Speaker 2 (10:27):
He's not gonna be available probably this Sunday, and then
Drake Greenlaw, who they're going to be managing as we
understand it. And I will credit our media because they
did follow up. I think Leggie did did follow up,
say is something new? And Sean's respectfully said he's not
going to answer those questions.

Speaker 1 (10:45):
I mean, all yeah, and.

Speaker 2 (10:48):
So listen, it's it's he's allowed to do that, right,
I mean they put out the practice report.

Speaker 1 (10:53):
That is what you're required to do.

Speaker 2 (10:56):
And I understand from a competitive standpoint, it doesn't benefit
him to tell us how much Drake green Law is hurt,
or you know, giving varying updates on any of these things.

Speaker 1 (11:06):
I think this is fine for situations like this.

Speaker 2 (11:10):
I do think that it won't be good enough for
a lot of fans, media, et cetera, if it's say
your quarterback, right, because so much of a game can
swing on those kinds of updates.

Speaker 4 (11:24):
Yeah, I you know, I mean local media exasperation with
Sean Payton being as difficult as possible to to crack
the wallnut on is is.

Speaker 1 (11:34):
Not new as far as this stuff goes.

Speaker 4 (11:37):
Like I, on the one hand, I'm like, you know,
just just comment, just just give the to give the context,
and we'll be done with it. But you know what
I mean. On the other at this point, I'm just
I'm so fed up with it. I'm not even gonna
push it. I just get so I get so frustrated
with the state secrets, you know whatever stuff, and that

(11:57):
it is so not secret that it's I'm.

Speaker 2 (11:59):
Just like, all right, what so we don't have to
stay secrets are we asking what the what uniforms the
Broncos are gonna wear on Sunday?

Speaker 1 (12:06):
Not gonna be all whites, will not be all whites.
I don't believe it's gonna be the throwbacks.

Speaker 4 (12:10):
I think those are gonna be mid to late season,
so probably the old Blues.

Speaker 1 (12:15):
But we'll see. I mean, they've changed this thing like
so many times.

Speaker 4 (12:20):
There's there's an ongoing discussion in the group chat, I
mean about whether or not these leaks about the uniforms
that that have come over the last few weeks are
the Broncos trying to smoke out leakers because they've they
I mean, they have changed this an absurd number of times,
and it's coming from places where it would be people
that would know passing it a long kind of thing,
and it's they've just changed it like five times in

(12:42):
the last two weeks.

Speaker 2 (12:44):
I mean, that's pretty smart if it is trying to.

Speaker 1 (12:47):
Smoke out some leaks.

Speaker 2 (12:49):
But at the same time, I see, for me, the
uniform stuff is I don't know, man, it's so low
on the list.

Speaker 1 (12:55):
I don't understand, Pep.

Speaker 2 (12:56):
I'm not trying to describe, Listen, I'm not trying to
dismiss other people caring.

Speaker 5 (13:00):
I'm just saying I personally do not. Yeah, I mean,
but I mean I don't. I don't understand.

Speaker 4 (13:05):
Like cool, I'll find out on game day when they're
wearing whatever it is they're wearing like it's it's whatever.

Speaker 1 (13:09):
It does not bother me. It's just like that.

Speaker 4 (13:13):
And the weird obsession with people want NARJ Harvey to
switch numbers.

Speaker 1 (13:17):
Yeah, who cares. I mean, it's not a great number.

Speaker 5 (13:22):
What do you mean, It's not a great number. One
makes a bad number, just kidding at number four.

Speaker 1 (13:27):
I can't do that.

Speaker 2 (13:28):
I mean, oh interesting, Okay, so that we had to
I had to react to this, all right, So Sean
Ferania moments ago.

Speaker 1 (13:37):
The twenty twenty.

Speaker 2 (13:38):
Six NBA All Star Game format is likely to feature
a round robin tournament consisting three to eight player squads
of two USA teams and one World team.

Speaker 1 (13:50):
So they're basically kind of weird, copying the yeah that's weird.

Speaker 2 (13:53):
NBA and Players Union presented format to the Competition Committee
on Wednesday and their sponsor was positive.

Speaker 1 (13:57):
So they're gonna do a round.

Speaker 2 (13:59):
So the All Star Game as we know it's is
gonna go to a round robin tournament with two USA
teams and one World team.

Speaker 1 (14:08):
Weird.

Speaker 2 (14:10):
Why, well, they saw what the NHL did last year
with the World Tournament and wildly different. Certainly, yes, but
they want to capture some of that.

Speaker 1 (14:20):
They're losing me. I'm not watching that. That says too
much out of my day.

Speaker 4 (14:24):
I'm there for the nap and then wake up in
the third quarter where it's two hundred to two hundred
and fifty and you know, and watching them just clown
around throwing oop dunks and stuff like that.

Speaker 1 (14:32):
I'm here for that. I'm not here for something serious
out of an All Star game.

Speaker 2 (14:34):
My guy Eddy Bailey, who always does such a great
job covered the NB says, I don't think this is
a big enough distraction for the Kawhi Leonard thing.

Speaker 5 (14:42):
Yeah, I'm gonna be honest. This is not a big
enough news dump for the Steve Balmer Kawhi Leonard thing.

Speaker 4 (14:50):
By the way, you see the I retweeted earlier, You
see the guy. It's the sopranos marching the guy through
the field. Whenever he's like Steve Balmer, Kawhi Leonard going
to show Poblatory all the trees they planted.

Speaker 2 (15:03):
I do want to talk about the populatory thing. So
when we come back, we get into that a little bit.

Speaker 5 (15:07):
Also also Jeffrey Simmons taking a shot at bow Nicks.

Speaker 1 (15:10):
Sean Payton has responded, we'll play you both. Coming up
next the Tress.

Speaker 5 (15:22):
Of iHeart, Ryan Edwards, Grat Smith, Dave Temper, Jojo Turnbo.

Speaker 1 (15:26):
That's right.

Speaker 5 (15:27):
We just need to run that underneath or show that
they know I have ever come into contact with family
members of Yes, please we renounce all legal liability.

Speaker 1 (15:38):
Oh goodness, five six nine zero, Okay.

Speaker 2 (15:40):
So before we hear from Jeffrey Simmons, the defensive tackle
for the Tennessee Titans, talking about bone Nicks, as well
as from Sean Payton responding to those comments the pabulatory
thing today, what was your reaction to that? In case
people missed it, Pabulatory has been an absolute heater recently.
His reporting on the NFL, the NFL PA, I mean,
that has caused shock waves throughout got people fired. I mean,

(16:03):
it's it's been significant what he's been doing. And today
he turned his focus to Kawhi Leonard and the LA Clippers,
and his report came out something to the effect of
part of the agreement, the contract agreement gave Kawhi Leonard
an opportunity to make twenty eight million dollars in a

(16:23):
show job.

Speaker 4 (16:24):
Yeah, basically the same way he used to before nil,
the same way used to pay college players. Right, you
have a no show job, you pay him money and
they wouldn't show up for it and all that kind
of stuff.

Speaker 1 (16:31):
Okay, fraudulent tree planting company.

Speaker 4 (16:34):
More similar the way the Patriots did Tom Brady by
giving the TV twelve method a ton of money and
then Tom Brady could take below market contracts, which is
also illegal.

Speaker 1 (16:42):
I thought I was just being really good for yah
dot it for the team.

Speaker 4 (16:45):
It's just such a heart of gold guy, and that
gold being the gold that he got on the back
end from the air quotes TV twelve method, and it's
scam quack doctor Alice Quero if you ever need to
read up on him. That guy was selling powdered greens
to cure cancer a while back before he was doing
the TV twelve thing. Anyway, this company Aspiration, which is scamming.

(17:06):
And if you don't know anything about this, this is
the part that gets left out of the publictory thing
is that that company is a bunch of scam artists,
that company went bankrupt, and you can you know the
thing about the thing that sort of raised an eyebrow
here is one and I would suggest that you remember
two things can be true at the same time, because
it does look like there's a mountain of evidence here

(17:27):
that Balmer was funneling money to Kawhi Leonard through this thing.
But it also looks like this company was scamming everybody
evolved at the same time and taking money, because I
don't think Steve Balmer would have gotten involved in it
if he'd known they were going to go bankrupt and
all this stuff was going to be available to creditors
in the public anyway.

Speaker 1 (17:43):
So I believe that yes, Steve.

Speaker 4 (17:46):
Balmer was funneling money to Kawhi Leonard through this company
in order to circum at the salary cap and luxury
tax one, but also that.

Speaker 5 (17:52):
This company scammed Steve Balmer out of a bunch of
money and he had no idea that were counting him.
So if you want to it's you can read up
on the company, It's aspiration, and then you can kind
of get behind the scenes on all this. But it
harkens back to and it looks like I think two
things are through. At the same time, that company was
conning its investors, which included Steve Palmer, and Steve Palmer
used it to launder money to Kawhi Leonard to pay

(18:16):
him to circumvent the salary cap en or luxury at tax.

Speaker 2 (18:18):
Launder, circumvent. These are very strong accusations.

Speaker 4 (18:21):
These are big words allegedly, allegedly the views in their
opinions expressed.

Speaker 2 (18:25):
By allegedly, Well, Okay, I have a couple of thoughts.
And it was interesting today listening to the patm acup
Show because they actually brot up the Broncos. Now that
the Broncos have done this nothing even of the sword,
they're not being accused of it, but it was talked
about because Steve Vaalmer is the wealthiest owner in the NBA,
much like the Broncos with the Wall and Peeder group,

(18:46):
or the wealthiest owners in the NFL. And they brought
up like, what's to stop almost any team you talk
about college football did this for years? What's to stop
any team for doing something like this to sweeten the
pot as long as it's not illegal, Because the thing
is is you're talking about la that's illegal circumventing. Probably
if you're saying, if there's some kind of document like
a smoking gust thing, it would be illegal.

Speaker 4 (19:07):
It would be fraud, it would be there would be
wire transfer fraud, fraud. I mean, there would be laws
violated if this is true.

Speaker 2 (19:13):
But again, college football did this for years with a
lot of players, which wasn't It wasn't deemed illegal the
way they were able to do it.

Speaker 1 (19:19):
It was just sort of sweetening the pot for guys.
It's a no show job. You don't show up, but
you get paid.

Speaker 4 (19:23):
It was illegal. It's just who's gonna tell on you.
I mean, it's in college football, it's you know, you're
usually a fan of the program. It's in the state.
It's probably not gonna have There's two ways they did it.
They did with no show jobs, and then you do
it with a charity. You'd have a wealthy donor go
write a giant check to it to a church and
then that you know, as a tax deductible write off,
and then that church would funnel some of that money
back to the player and keep their cut.

Speaker 2 (19:42):
Okay, well, this is the negative side of it classic bend.
But the other side of it, the other side of
it is the hey, this is an endorsement that you
have to do that we really don't have any expectations
for you to do. And so, like you talked, You've
talked about historically like car companies out in wherever you know,
Tallahassee or something like that, that all of a sudden
you are more local, right, that are are suddenly like

(20:02):
really big fans of yours and they want you as part.

Speaker 1 (20:04):
Of the thing.

Speaker 2 (20:05):
So here, right if the Broncos and I'm not saying
they're doing this or they have every intention ever to
do something like this, but any team really wanted to
sweeten the pot for a free agent. I don't know, man,
I don't know if I hate this, like I I'm
supposed to probably hate this.

Speaker 1 (20:23):
I'm supposed to be like, oh the Clippers are that's terrible.
They should not be doing this.

Speaker 2 (20:28):
They should be, you know, above the board on everything
they do. And I'm like, man, college football did this
for years. I don't even I don't know if I
have a strong feeling. I mean a Pavo Tory finding
out about it. You drag this stuff into the light.
I think that's important. Like I think we have to
talk about it. I think it's important to have transparency.
But on the other side of it.

Speaker 4 (20:46):
I'm like, I mean, you're secretly just hoping that the
Walton Pennock Group are paying people off the books for
all these hometown discount contracts.

Speaker 2 (20:52):
I'm not trying to plant the seeds. I don't know.
I don't know if I care.

Speaker 1 (20:59):
I don't know if I care. Beat me at camera two. No, this,
I mean, this is the same thing that.

Speaker 5 (21:04):
Got Rett Bolmar kicked out of kicked out of Oklahoma,
Big Red Sports and Imports back in the day. You're
a libertarian for trying to as you want less government control, well,
less government, but I don't want more fraud. I I
want the least amount of government necessary to get the
job done. That doesn't mean I want more crime and fraud.
It just means I want to pay less and I

(21:25):
want to pay the least amount of Boer capital to
stop it. You're a capitalist. I'm not sweating Kawhi Leonard
get in the bag that way. But as a Nuggets fan,
are you really okay with the Los Angeles? If this
with the Lakers, would you have the same opinion if
this was.

Speaker 1 (21:39):
The Tea Wolves and this was Oklahoma City. I don't care.
You absolutely out of your mind. I really don't care
you do. I thought I was. I thought it was
very interesting and like you are hoping.

Speaker 5 (21:49):
The Broncos get away with this because we got wealthy ownership.

Speaker 1 (21:51):
That's what you're dead. That's exactly what this is. I
like the transparency. Get out of here. There was no transparency.

Speaker 2 (21:57):
The journalism headed drag us into the light that we're
getting as fair as you now. I'm saying like, if
for some reason my team was able to attract a
star player.

Speaker 5 (22:06):
And then no, no, this is cheating. It's literally cheating,
is it? Though?

Speaker 1 (22:12):
It is the kind of ethics states with the mote
and everything. Yeah, that's all right. No, I just I
thought about it today and like I said, the patmaphic,
Pat mcafish, I was talking about it. I was like,
you know that, it's interesting.

Speaker 2 (22:26):
I thought the same thing, like if I found out
my team, my team there was the Nuggets or the Abs.

Speaker 4 (22:30):
If the Los Angeles Lakers go out and get Nikola
Jokic and they pay them off the books like this,
I bet your.

Speaker 1 (22:35):
Opinion changes in an instant. Well, so that's interesting.

Speaker 2 (22:39):
Before you bring up so if it's the Toronto Raptors
who ended up losing Kawhi Leonard, Uh huh. Maybe the
Toronto Raptors do feel differently about if it's my team.

Speaker 1 (22:48):
Sudden you're gonna care.

Speaker 4 (22:49):
If it's the Denver Nuggets lose Nikola Jokic to the
LA Lakers next summer and the Lakers are paying him
off the books to endorse.

Speaker 1 (22:55):
Bob's used cars down the road.

Speaker 5 (22:58):
Except it's no show endorsements and the joker doesn't have
to go out there, and the this huge Seneca is
on the No, that's a terrible joke. That was a
terrible joker accent. I can't really do serbian whatever. But well,
good thing we don't have you on here for that. Yeah,
regiment Albright noted serbian impressionist.

Speaker 2 (23:16):
Well, we don't have to spend a lot of time
on this. I we could spend more time on this.
This is cheaty And I see what you're doing over there.
I see the dollar side lighting up in your eyes.
He's like, Oh, get the wald House owners. And you know,
in the NFL, we could totally get away with this.
I'm here for us, I'm cooking the skin.

Speaker 5 (23:30):
Ryan Edwards is cooking up a fake charity in his head,
right now, kids in Flannel.

Speaker 1 (23:35):
He's just some kind of put kids in.

Speaker 5 (23:36):
Flannel charity it gets cold in the winter. And then
he's like, you know what we need. We need to
go ahead and get another receiver. Let's go on, get
just go and get George Jefferson. Justin Jefferson.

Speaker 1 (23:47):
Yeah, the wrong one. I get them every time. Yeah,
I get Justin.

Speaker 5 (23:50):
Jefferson, and we'll we'll pay him an extra forty million
off the books to endorse my charity, Kids get Flannel.

Speaker 2 (23:58):
If he even shows up one time to endorse it,
then it's you're good.

Speaker 1 (24:03):
Like that's the thing that.

Speaker 2 (24:05):
Is missing in all this, and Pablatory did a great
job investigating it because Kawhi Leonard never did a single
But if he's off once one time, even if it's
twenty eight million dollars for one.

Speaker 5 (24:16):
Endorsement thing, I mean, of course, that's going to look
like an outlier amongst your regular appearance.

Speaker 1 (24:22):
The course does, which is all of a sudden gotta
raise some eyebrows.

Speaker 2 (24:25):
But that's literally the only thing he'd have to do
to make this on the level, right because yeah, by
the fee of it, they're like twenty eight million for
one appearance, Like, that's kind of insane, but that's not
kind of insane.

Speaker 1 (24:37):
That is insane. But at the same time, that's really
all it takes.

Speaker 2 (24:40):
So if Justin Jefferson is interested in playing for the
Denver Broncos at some point.

Speaker 4 (24:45):
Well arguing the loophole thing, and I'm gonna use a
wild example here, so bear with me at home there.
But this is just like the prostitution versus doing a
video of prostitution, except when you do a video of it,
it's called pornography and it's legal.

Speaker 1 (24:57):
Well that's a terrible amount. It's the same thing.

Speaker 5 (25:00):
You show up once with the camera and all of
a sudden, it's, all of a sudden it's legal.

Speaker 2 (25:04):
No, I like my I like my better, all right,
So Jeffrey Simmons, the Star passion pass this one, huh, Well, I.

Speaker 4 (25:16):
Just feel like we're in the Colorado database right now
to look for what what LLC and or charities you've
you've suddenly cooked up here.

Speaker 1 (25:24):
Funnel NFL players to the Broncos. I just feel like
we're at an impass on the topic. That's all I mean.
We're not at an impass. You're just wrong, all right, Edward's.

Speaker 4 (25:33):
Cheating unless they cheat my team, in which case, yeah, well.

Speaker 2 (25:38):
That was a good example that of all the things
that you said that I feel dumber for in the
last ten minutes, the one thing that you did say,
if it was say nicolea Jokic or in this case
Toronto losing Kawhi Leonard, they might have a feeling about this,
like knowing that he went.

Speaker 4 (25:52):
To the Clippers say this audio, because I swear if the
Lakers somehow pull this Luca Nicola thing off next summer.

Speaker 1 (25:58):
It's really bad.

Speaker 3 (25:59):
We been head.

Speaker 5 (26:00):
Yeah, I'm apopleptic right now. How am I the moral
compass around here? We have lost our bearings if I'm
the moral armer.

Speaker 2 (26:08):
Okay, I think you're also arguing from a utopic sense
of the the ruling on all these things, because you
and I both know there's a lot more stuff that happens.

Speaker 5 (26:19):
We know everybody's going to be cheating. I'm just trying
to get them to stop. You by yourself on a engine, Benjamin,
the faith. They don't call me the crusader for nothing.
The faith the crusade to bring it all to the justice.

Speaker 1 (26:36):
I'm a fan, Howard Dean scream. Ah.

Speaker 5 (26:41):
Yes, the Broncos did get in trouble with this in
the nineties. Yes, actually did I think we're doing it.

Speaker 1 (26:46):
Yeah.

Speaker 5 (26:49):
So Jeffrey Simmons was asked about bow Nicks in the
locker room.

Speaker 1 (26:53):
I think this was actually today, and here's what he said.
You know, the first read, you don't take off running
the football.

Speaker 3 (26:59):
Start.

Speaker 6 (27:00):
Make sure we want the same pay we got, make
sure we have a balance of Russia, you know, not
trying to be robots out there. But at the same time,
we know that if it's not their bonus will take
off money. So it's gonna be on this up front
to make sure we keep him.

Speaker 2 (27:12):
In a way and keep them in at Okay, that's
what Jeffrey Simmons said, So that if the first reason
their bonus gonna take off and running, he's gonna takey
off and run. And here's what Sean Payton had to
say in response to that this afternoon.

Speaker 7 (27:23):
We've talked about this before, and I hear the discussion
a lot relative to now that they've had a Now
that they've had a.

Speaker 6 (27:31):
I don't know.

Speaker 7 (27:32):
I think when you get to week ten and week eleven,
you've had a some of the things happen spontaneously. I
would disagree that he's just a first read for I
know for a fact that that's not the case. Now
see confident and his movement skills. Yeah, and we'll get
a chance to see him on Sunday.

Speaker 1 (27:54):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (27:54):
And I like Sean saying I know for a fact
that it's not true, and he would know for a
fact that Bonicks isn't one read and then take off
and run guy. There may have been some games, maybe
even early points of the season that you could point to.
I don't feel like if I take the full scope

(28:16):
of the season last year, Ben, that that's my takeaway
on Bonicks, that he's a one read and run guy.

Speaker 1 (28:21):
Do you feel the same.

Speaker 4 (28:23):
I think there's elements of that to his game. I
have certainly seen him be that guy. I don't think
that's always the case. I think he's speaking at it
more from a we we have to contain him in,
you know, and he's talking from the defensive line perspective,
we have to contain him and keep him there. I
think he's speaking more from that perspective than the overall
game of bon Nicks, right, because what he's really saying

(28:47):
is if it isn't there, Bo's gonna run. And BO
makes decisions pretty quick. That's why it doesn't take a
lot of sacks.

Speaker 1 (28:52):
Well, well there's two.

Speaker 2 (28:53):
No, that's two different things. I mean sort of. I
guess we I don't want to argue the semantics too
much here.

Speaker 1 (29:00):
If it isn't there, he.

Speaker 2 (29:01):
Takes off and run. But that's not a one read
and take off and run. Those are two different things
in my opinion. One read and then I take off
and run if it isn't there, or take off and run.
You can get to a couple of reads before you
actually run if it's not there. And sometimes listen, the
defense makes a play that you didn't expect, or a
guy is covered up that you thought was going to

(29:22):
be there. And yeah, I guess that's technically one read
and run. I just feel like the description of a
guy that is one read and run is vastly different
from if it's not there, he runs.

Speaker 4 (29:35):
Maybe that's the semantics thing. For me, It is a
bit of a semantics thing. But that's we're going to
pick apart what he said in defense.

Speaker 5 (29:41):
Of our quarterback, right. The reality is there's truth to
what he said. BO does have a penchant for taking
off if it's not there first. You know, he does
get but he does get to a second and third
read at times as well.

Speaker 1 (29:51):
I think a lot of that depends on the protection.

Speaker 5 (29:52):
So you know, I think it's I think there is
if you look at this honestly and objectively, there's truth
to what he's say, sad, but it isn't necessarily always true.
It depends on what your definition of he is. That's
exactly what there's truth to what he said.

Speaker 1 (30:09):
BO does.

Speaker 5 (30:10):
BO does like if it's not there, I'll take off,
and then he'll do it after a first read.

Speaker 1 (30:14):
Sometimes sometimes that's by design, right.

Speaker 2 (30:17):
There might be examples right where Sean says, hey, as
we're game planning for the week, if this isn't there,
get something out of it.

Speaker 4 (30:25):
Yeah, And that's I mean, there's to do. But he
also does that. He also does. I mean that is
a knock on him, if you want to be honest
with it. He has had moments of doing that where
if it's not there, he doesn't wait it out.

Speaker 1 (30:36):
BO doesn't want to take sacks, he doesn't.

Speaker 5 (30:37):
Want to take negative plays, and so he makes a
quick decision like all right, this doesn't look like it's
the solution isn't working out from me here. I'm going
to take off and get something with my legs.

Speaker 1 (30:44):
That I know.

Speaker 5 (30:45):
That's why we like bow Nicks, right, that's a part
of what we love about him that he doesn't take
these negative plays and that he will do that.

Speaker 1 (30:52):
Uh, it's not as bad as for instance, and I'm
going to pick on.

Speaker 4 (30:54):
A favorite target of mind justin fields where if it's
not there on the first read, he's going to sit
there and steer the first read down and then he's
going to read a book and then he's going to
continue starting the first read down and then take off.
But you know, bo makes he arrives at the solution
fairly quickly. If it's not there, then he's going to
do what he knows.

Speaker 1 (31:11):
And take off. And that's something he's done since he was.

Speaker 2 (31:12):
At Auburn, which is part of the reason why he's here,
because Sean wants a quarterback that does.

Speaker 4 (31:16):
That his his Yeah, Sean Payton's offense is a schedule.

Speaker 1 (31:19):
It's it's a it's roots in the West Coast.

Speaker 4 (31:21):
I mean it's it's a golf coast area, but it's
it's roots in the West Coast offense that old Eagles,
you know offense from the from the late nineties, so
you know it's it's not necessarily a bad thing. What
Jeffrey Simmons is saying, we take it as bad because
that's how we take it when you read that at
face value. But what he's saying there is we have
to be vigilant as a defensive line because he's going

(31:42):
to take off with his feet, so we can't just
rush him. We got to contain, which is exactly right.

Speaker 2 (31:47):
Like if I'm diagnosing or breaking things down from the
Titans perspective, and you brought up the heft they have
up front, that's going to be a huge part of
it is going to be, hey, don't don't give them
the run game if you can right a one dimensional
and then when you do make a one dimensional, don't
let bon Nicks find extra yards because you're getting a
field too fast, and then he finds little creases to

(32:08):
sort of bounce out. But that's honestly some respect too,
because we talk about Josh Allen and Lamar Jackson and
I'm not saying he's quite in that category yet, but
he does have the athleticism. I mean, what like twenty
two miles per hour, twenty three miles per hour on
a straightaway last year. He's got speed, he's got athleticism
to be able to burn you with that.

Speaker 1 (32:27):
Yeah, And I I think I was.

Speaker 2 (32:28):
Asked about this a couple days ago, like would you
like to see bon Nicks focus more on the pocket?
And I'm like that stuff will come, like, of course
you want to see him being proficient there. But I say,
just keep doing what you're doing, because the reality is
is if you're making positive plays you're making and certainly
avoiding negative plays, you're going to find yourself in advantageous

(32:49):
positions because you're going to get to second, in medium,
third and short, and you can consist sustain drives, which
is going to ultimately help your defense too.

Speaker 4 (32:56):
You keep not taking negative plays and making positive even
if small, you're going to wake up and find yourself
in the end zone. And that's the ultimate theory or
philosophy at the core of the Chempaygne offense. I think
what the Titans are trying to do here, I think
they gave us. I think they tipped their hand on
what they're going to do on defense. I think they've
tipped their hand. I think they're going to shut down.
They're going to tempt to shut down the run game
and the quarterback run game, and they're going to dare

(33:18):
you to beat them from the pocket
